Anybody else get random Olevia Lives AU brainworms that won't get out of their head until they get written down or is that just a me thing?
(Translation below the cut as usual)
Cuff: May I confess something to you?
Olevia: What is it?
Cuff: I need your complete confidence. You cannot breathe a word of this to anyone. Especially not Frey. Do you promise?
Olevia: I promise.
Cuff: Thank you. *deep breath* I love her.
Olevia: Well, yeah, I knew that.
Cuff: Hush, I'm not done yet.
Olevia: *giggles*
Cuff: If I could, I would take Frey and run. Run far, far away, away from Athia, away from Rheddah. Run so far and so fast that nothing can ever hurt her again, so I can be free to stand beside her.
Olevia: Why can't you do that now?
Cuff: Because I am not free. And I never will be. If Frey lets me go, then Rheddah will reclaim me. And I will be forced to kill her. To kill you. I can't bear that, little one. I love you both too much. But I won't have any choice. I won't be able to stop myself. But if I take her and run far, far away, so far that Rheddah can't find me, maybe...
Olevia: ...what about me?
Cuff: Hmm?
Olevia: Can I come, too?
Cuff: You love Frey that much? Enough to leave everything you've ever known behind?
Olevia: You do.
Cuff: Hmm, I suppose I do. Well, now, I suppose, since I've come to know you, and seeing as I love you, too, I'd like to take you with me as well. Since you asked, and all.

How about I draw your Blank Scripts OCs and Self-Inserts?
When I made this post rambling on about my TSP Blank Scripts AU, I said at the very end that—
"It would be so cool if people made self-inserts or OCs for my AU actually. I'd love to see how you guys would work with my stuff. Play around with it like a barbie world for your little barbie dolls. Be canon compliant, be canon divergent, who cares, have fun."
—and it's been marinating in my head ever since. I thought it would be a fun thing to do. I'm gonna give you all 1 week to make those characters of yours! [Deadline: June 5 – June 11/12]
If you have something to share about them, feel free to have an essay about it on the post! I'd love to read about what you'll come up with to make them fit in to the Blank Scripts worldbuilding.
You are free to ask me questions about the Blank Scripts AU in my DMs if you're unsure on how to go about doing this!
Once you're done, post it and tag me with either @blackkatdraws or @blackkatdraws2 [Both accounts are fine as long as I notice you.]
@blackkatdraws will reblog your posts and let you know I saw it while @blackkatdraws2 will work on drawing the submitted characters before showing them all in one post later! It'll take a while, but I'll get it done. Give me two or three weeks. [Be patient with me.]
Give this a reblog to let others know if they're interested!

Tolkien OC Week
A fandom event for OCs and underdeveloped characters in Tolkien's world!
This event celebrates both characters of Tolkien's world and our own characters that need more love, by creating and reblogging all kind of fanworks, like fanfiction, fanart, fanvideos, fancrafts, headcanons, playlists, edits, moodboards etc.
The event is modded by @yellow-faerie, @elamarth-calmagol and @stormxpadme and will take place between 25th August - 31st August 2024 for the fourth year running.
NSFW text entries are allowed and we’ll tag them accordingly when we reblog them, but please put them behind a “read more”.
We'll also be tracking the tag #tolkienocweek during this week!
*******************************************
Event schedule for 2024:
Day 1 (25th August): World Building
Create a fanwork about an original character, and use them as a jumping off point for worldbuilding. Share a dwarf from the far side of Rhun, consider the existence of an Aina before the creation of Arda, explore Rivendell from the point of view of an outsider, or tell us about the underground punk subculture of Gondolin.
Day 2 (26th August): Canon-OC Relationships
This year, it’s not just about romance. Today, explore a relationship between your OC and a canon character. Your character could be a lover or spouse of someone canonical, lf course, but they could also be a friend, sibling, teacher, servant, fan, or even rival!
Day 3 (27th August): Alternate Universes
Share an OC who isn’t canon compliant at all. Maybe you want to add a fourteenth member of Thorin’s company or give a reborn Celebrimbor children with a surviving and reformed Sauron. Or, maybe you want to do a crossover with your Star Wars OC or let your self-insert narrate a coffee shop AU. Go wild!
Day 4 (28th August): Gaps and Ghosts
Create a fanwork based upon a character that Tolkien either thought up and abandoned, such as Odo Took oe the characters of The New Shadow. Or, create someone he missed creating in the first place, like… um… just about anyone’s mother.
Day 5 (29th August): Non-Humanoid Characters
Middle Earth isn't just elves, Men, hobbits, and dwarves. Today, share a character who is something different entirely: an animal, a dragon, a Maia who doesn't take humanoid form, an ent or huron, or a creature of your own invention.
Day 6 (30th August): Background Characters
This prompt is all about people who are in the background of the action: the low-ranking soldiers, the servants, and the ordinary people living in extraordinary times. Or maybe you want someone who isn't so ordinary, like an advisor in the Council of Elrond who never made it onto the page, or one of the Maiar who sank the Feanorians on the stolen boats. Show us their view of the action!
Day 7 (31st August): Freeform
Did we miss something? Do you have an OC that doesn’t fit into any day, or did you want to do a second fanwork for one of the days? Today, create and share whatever you want, as long as it has to do with original or abandoned characters!
*******************************************
*******************************************
Since we want to celebrate creations about neglected characters all year long, the mods will occasionally reblog posts and fancreations about OCs and underdeveloped characters. If you would like to see your post on our blog, you're very welcome to tag tolkienocweek. Since tumblr's tagging system is often being faulty, don't hesitate to message us, too!
We are looking forward to see and share all the awesome work you come up with!

Pairing: Takashi Mitsuya x Original Female Character
Rating: Mature - MINORS DO NOT INTERACT
Genre: Romance, Canon-Divergent AU
cw: switching POVs (2nd and 3rd person), explicit language, angst, hurt/comfort, non-canon compliant, canon-typical violence, fluff, slow burn, eventual smut, eventual time-skip
Summary: Student, big brother, sewing expert, and Second Division Caption of the Tokyo Manji Gang. Takashi Mitsuya is an 18-year-old boy who wears many different hats. With graduation approaching in a few short months, he must decide what path he wants to follow into his future: continue his life as a delinquent or live in normalcy, a concept he’s never been familiar with, an idea he’s only chased but never captured. Until one day, he meets Hana Shimizu, the very definition of ordinary. That’s what he thinks, at first. Little does he know that this “ordinary” girl would change his life.
Author's Notes: I binged all two seasons of Tokyo Revengers within the past two weeks and I'm OBSESSED with Mitsuya! He is absolutely husband material, so I was inspired to write this, I hope you like it! It's my first time writing a female original character, but I'm keeping it formatted like a reader-insert because I genuinely enjoy writing in that style. Heads up, she does have a name and a few distinct qualities - she has hair and is chubby (similar to me!), but it's not the main focus of the story. Likes, reblogs, and/or comments are always appreciated! Thank you for reading!
Tumblr media
Chapter Title and Summary (spoiler-free):
Chapter 1: Cut From the Same Cloth - Takashi Mitsuya has always lived his life being true to himself. Despite being the proud Second Division Captain of the notorious Tokyo Manji Gang, he never hides the softer side of him: He cares deeply for his two younger sisters and enjoys spending his free time sewing. When a classmate, Hana Shimizu, approaches him, asking for lessons in sewing, he agrees, not seeing any downsides to having some company.
Chapter 2: On Pins and Needles - Hana babysits Luna and Mana for the first time. Mitsuya catches up with Draken before attending a short, but tumultuous Toman meeting at Musashi Shrine.
Chapter 3: A Stitch Ahead - Mitsuya is asked to create jackets for the newly appointed captains, to which he reluctantly agrees. When the deadline arrives and he still hasn’t finished, he enlists your aid to help him complete his task. The same day, the two of you make dinner together for his sisters, leaving Mitsuya with a lasting impression.
Chapter 4: Cute as a Button - Mitsuya skips a session of sewing lessons, attempting to keep his distance after realizing his growing feelings for you. You’re left wondering where you stand with him, confused by his behavior the last time you saw him. Soon enough, you both realize that these feelings are too intense to ignore.
Chapter 5: Bursting at the Seams - You and Mitsuya make your newly blossomed relationship official. To commemorate this special occasion, he invites you to his house for breakfast, where you meet his mother.
Chapter 6: Heart on a Sleeve - You and Mitsuya make your budding relationship public and things only continue to grow from there. The Tokyo Manji gang successfully absorbs the Leviathans all thanks to the efforts of new captains Tetta Kisaki and Shuji Hanma. Despite Mikey’s praise for them during this month’s meeting, Mitsuya remains wary of the two. His suspicions only increase when he runs into them while on a date with you.
Chapter 7: Reap What You Sew - A dinner with you, Mitsuya, and your parents quickly goes south. Mitsuya makes a decision that could lead to dire consequences.
Chapter 8: Hanging by a Thread - After leaving the Tokyo Manji Gang, Mitsuya feels like his life is on the right track. They have their fearless leader Mikey back to his usual self and Mitsuya’s relationship with Hana grows stronger day by day. They graduate, ready for the next big step in their lives. But with everything said and done, the past will always haunt the brothers of Toman, for better and for worse.
Chapter 9: A Rough Patch (tbd)
Chapter 10: Mending What's Broken (tbd)

How to Write a Good Fanfiction: A 5 Step Manual
Hello! My name is @love_kurdt, also known as Eva, and I’m a Wattpad Veteran of the early 2010s, where the genres of Slash Fics, Y/N, and Imagines ran rampant. I spent years of my life as a kid scrolling through my iPod touch, weeding through Wattpad’s plethora of profiles, on a quest to find quality fanfictions. I found a handful, which I added to a specific reading list to come back to when I needed a break from screaming into my pillow because of the sheer audacity of thought-criminals who called themselves writers.
When I’d reached the point of reading the same five works over and over in a never ending cycle, I decided to make the life-altering decision to start publishing my fanfictions online. Granted, I was only thirteen at this point, so my writing wasn’t spectacular by any means, but I came to discover that over time, the mere acts of reading and writing can light a spark of inspiration that can carry you to creative success.
I’ve been writing my own works for over ten years now, and can confidently say that I have cracked the code to writing a good fanfiction that will have your readers captivated instead of cringing. Please don’t get me wrong– if you want to just write fanfic on the internet for fun, and not to write a novel, that’s great, too! That’s what the internet is for; exercising your free will. But this manual is tailored towards those who want to hone in on their craft and gain a substantial following as strictly fanfiction authors. So without further ado, let’s jump into it. Godspeed!
Step 1: Choose Your Fandom
What show, movie, or book has drawn you in and left you feeling like there should be more to the story? When one of those media comes to mind, you’ve chosen your fandom!
Step 2: Do Your Research
When writing fanfiction, it’s kind of an unspoken rule that you need to know the canon of the fandom you’re writing about. The canon is also known as the source material. For example, if someone were to write a Draco Malfoy x OC fanfiction (*cough* a 200+ page Draco Malfoy self insert fic written at 11 years old in a series of notebooks bound together with multiple layers of Gorilla tape *cough*), the canon would be the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. It’s, in essence, what “really” happened. It’s totally fine if you want to write a non-canon compliant fic, too! In fact, they’re extremely popular, specifically within the “fix-it” genre, which usually involves characters that died in the canon but the author kept alive in their fanfiction. Either way, you should have a general idea of how the canon functions within the context of the fandom, so you can make creative choices that diverge from or stick to the canon.
With the canon comes the fanon, which is basically a compilation of fan theories and headcanons that are often common themes in both canon and non-canon compliant fanfics. A pretty niche example of this is the Byler fandom (the ship between Stranger Things characters Will Byers and Mike Wheeler), where there’s an official list of theories on Tumblr that are used in many, if not most Byler fanfictions. There’s FlickerGate, where the flickering of the garage light in Season 1 is actually Will and Mike in the Upside Down in Season 5. There’s BirthdayGate, where the antagonist, Vecna, manipulates the minds of everyone in Hawkins to forget Will’s birthday, which is a central plot point in a lot of Byler fics since no one seems to remember it, not even his best friend. There’s also LetterGate, where Will confronts Mike in the canon about not sending any letters after he’d moved away, but the theory reveals that Mike wrote plenty of letters– he just never sent them because they ended up turning into love letters, which in turn resulted in internalized homophobia. You get the picture. Most theories reach far into the land of delusion, but it doesn’t stop writers from creating incredible work that could easily be mistaken for a script.
But Eva, what if I just think the characters are hot and I don’t give a shit about the cannonball? I can’t tell you what to do, my friend, but I highly suggest you at least consider the canon so you can avoid all the petty, obnoxious gatekeepers in some fandoms who can be unhinged enough to send death threats if you leave out a significant canonical detail. But you do you!
Step 3: Choose Your Platform
There are three popular platforms to choose from: Archive of Our Own (ao3), Tumblr, and Wattpad. There are also a few other lesser known or dead pages such as fanfiction.net, but I honestly wouldn’t bother with those, since they’re more infiltrated with anons and bots nowadays.
This is where you want to think about 1) where most of the members in the fandom you chose reside, and 2) the demographic of readers you want to reach. For example, I observed a higher number of Nirvana fans on Wattpad than the other two platforms, which is why I chose to post my full length Kurt Cobain fanfiction, “You Know You’re Right,” on there. It also helped that my favorite author of another Kurt Cobain fanfiction on Wattpad, @/ugh-nirvana, had hits in the hundreds of thousands, so I was confident that my book would do well on that specific platform. On the other hand, the Stranger Things fandom is in full swing on Tumblr and ao3, so I chose to post those fanfictions on there rather than on Wattpad. It all just depends on who’s where.
You also have to consider how active you want to be on your platform(s). Tumblr is more of a blog situation, while ao3 and Wattpad are solely for publishing the work. If you want to have a life beyond the realms of the world wide web, choose Wattpad or ao3, as inconsistent updates are a bit more accepted than on Tumblr. But if you want to throw yourself headfirst into a fandom and put your whole author-ussy into your fanfic, then Tumblr is the platform for you.
You should be aware, however, that Tumblr involves a lot of upkeep, as well as constant, strategic, and active participation within your fandom. Visual aesthetic is vital to any functional Tumblr blog. Most profiles have directories, with color coded links to each work’s homepage, which is linked to each individual chapter, which are then distinguished by a unique GIF to capture a prospective reader’s attention while they’re scrolling through copious amounts of content. And there are always new ideas and theories in development in certain fandoms, so it’s crucial to keep up with recent updates in order to stay relevant.
After all is said and done, you don’t have to get married to one platform for the rest of your life. You can choose to be exclusive to one or two platforms, or publish everything on all of them! The decision is ultimately yours!
Step 4: Obey the Writer’s Trifecta of Consistency
Yes, I came up with this term, and yes, it should be a real thing. Because in every piece of writing, whether it be fanfiction, a short story, an actual book, a screenplay, what have you, it is critical to be consistent in your People, your POV, and your Plot. Let me explain.
People
Your people, or your ensemble of characters, consists of three hierarchical levels: your protagonist/antagonist, your side characters, and other background characters. I should emphasize the importance of building character profiles for everyone, including your pre-existing characters from the fandom, but specifically for your original character(s) if you have them. That way, you know who serves as a major plot device, who serves as someone who just helps time move faster, and those who are mentioned by name but have very little significance to the events of the story. I’m going to reference Harry Potter again, since most of the world is familiar with the characters. Harry and Voldemort are the protagonist and antagonist; Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Professor Dumbledore, Hagrid and company are side characters; and Peeves, Seamus Finnigan, and Blaise Zabini are background characters. Keep this hierarchy in check; don’t let your main characters fade away, and don’t let your background characters shift to the forefront for no reason. If you do plan to move a character up or down the ladder, make sure to have clear motive as to why you’re bringing this character into or out of play.
2. POV
Your POV is the point of view in which you’re writing from. Assuming you’ve been in a typical middle school English class, you’ve heard of the first, second, and third person points of view. I cannot tell you how many times I have read fanfictions that jump from one POV to another, sometimes within the same sentence. I open the door and see Kurt Cobain standing in the corner of the room. She walked across the floor to meet him there. See what I did there? I jumped from first person present tense to third person past tense. Do not attempt this at home.
The least common of the three points of view is the second person, or what I like to call the Y/N point of view. In fanfiction, second person POV is often used in self-insert fics, where instead of a character’s name, it’s replaced with “you.” That’s why a lot of romantic character x reader fics are so popular. You should feel free to use this one, especially if that’s the kind of vibe you’re going for, but I’m going to elaborate a little bit more on first and third person, as they’re a bit more “literary.”
The first person POV confines the narration to the mind of one character. It can also be done with multiple characters, but be sure to do it so it’s painstakingly obvious to the reader whose POV you’re writing from. Also note that if you plan to write multiple first person POVs, try to keep that number on the lower side, as a large number of POVs can get really complicated really quickly. Third person narration can be done from two angles: limited or omniscient. Limited is more similar to first person, in which you’re confined to one person’s viewpoint, but they aren’t the narrator; you’re just seeing the story through their eyes. Omniscient is my favorite, because you can narrate from a bird’s eye view with the freedom to travel from mind to mind and read their thoughts.
Building character profiles can be really helpful when developing both first or third person POV; if you connect with a particular character more strongly than the rest, that should tell you whose POV you should write in. If you choose to switch POVs, be sure to do it either on an alternating/rotating basis, or if you repeat, it should be apparent as to why that particular character is the “voice” of that scene.
3. Plot
Dare I say that Plot is the most important step of them all, so do not skip this one, whatever you do! The biggest mistake most fanfiction writers make is having a concept but lacking a plot. It’s like biting into an apple just to discover it’s a lemon. Many writers are capable of starting off strong, but once their initial story begins to meander, traveling into uncharted territory, their brainchild can become a monstrosity.
In order to write a solid plot, it’s pretty common knowledge that you need to have a beginning, middle, and end in place. It doesn’t need to be overly specific or down to the last detail, you just need to figure out how your characters make it from point A to point Z (the larger scale), and how points B through Y factor into the plot (the smaller scale). There are a few routes that you can take in order to do this: you can write the entire thing ahead of time without any input, you can write the entire thing with the feedback of a beta reader or proofreader to help you work out any kinks or mistakes before you publish it for the entire platform to see, or you can publish it gradually and take feedback from your readers as you go. Should you go with the last option, though, you should be made aware that if you aren’t already an established author, it may feel like you’re talking to a wall, and you will likely feel discouraged from writing the story altogether.
I find it helpful to outline the whole thing. I have a closet door in my house dedicated to a Dave Grohl true crime fanfiction I’m working on. I’ve written the entire story from beginning to end on index cards, split into four different parts with each card representing a chapter. What’s good about outlining is that I can edit my story as I go along. If I decide to change something, I can add or remove an index card, then replace or rearrange the other index cards to work around the change I made, and that way, I don’t have to start over from scratch. It’s helpful to see everything laid out in front of me, so I’m not left at the end of a completely improvised plot with a slew of loose ends that I’ll need to go back and edit. It’s also better than publishing each part individually then having to redo everything after your readers have already seen it. And I don’t know about you, but I enjoy it when I’m able to save some time, energy, and lengthy explanations to random people online. That is, unless you enjoy constant feedback from readers, in which case you can change the plot on a chapter by chapter basis based on their feedback.
Consistency in all of these respects is key. I cannot emphasize this enough. Keeping all of these elements in check will help you create a sort of cohesiveness that will neatly wrap the story up with a little bow on top.
Step 5: Use Relevant Tags and Content Warnings
Repeat after me: tags matter! Again: tags matter! When you’re about to publish your fanfiction, you’re going to be given the option to add tags to your work. For my first few years spent on Wattpad, I had no idea what tags were, so I didn’t use them. Thankfully, the platform was still pretty small, so people still found my work pretty easily. Nowadays, though, it’s nearly impossible to find what you’re looking for without searching excessively specific tags and using a million filters. It’s unfortunate, but look at it this way: there are so many people contributing to so many fandoms that the content is seemingly endless!
What you’re going to want to do is add as many tags as you can but keep it as simple as possible. I know that sounds kind of oxymoronic, but I mean it in a way that all of your tags relate directly to your story, and not just to the fandom itself. A lot of readers feel misled when they’re scrolling through their filtered search page for, let’s just say, a Byler fanfic, and end up neck deep in a Mileven fanfic in disguise. That’s not a fun experience.
Lastly, please remember that you are publishing your work on the internet, and you don’t know who may encounter your work! Listen, we live in a world where everything needs to be overexplained, everything needs trigger warnings, and everything needs to be neutral or else someone is going to hate you. I get it. I’ve been writing fanfiction for a long time. It might be annoying to add content warnings, especially if one of those warnings spoils a major plotline, but if I’m being honest, I’d rather be safe and add the damn warning than not add the warning and be responsible for someone’s worsened emotional or mental state. Bottom line, it’s just fanfiction! Let’s do our due diligence to create a community full of love and understanding for everyone!
After that, you should be all set to publish! Let’s review one more time for the road:
Choose Your Fandom
Do Your Research
Choose Your Platform
Obey the Writer’s Trifecta of Consistency
Use Relevant Tags and Content Warnings
If you’ve stuck around for this long, thank you so much!
I hope this manual helps you along your fanfiction writing journey, wherever it takes you <3

Piece by piece- Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
Paring: Agent Whiskey x Original plus size female character
Rating: 18+
Warnings: Mentions of: grief, cancer, body shaming. Eventual smut, explicit language, alcohol, not canon compliant (who cares about the canon anyway), Jack's questionable flirt (as usual).
Author notes: This was supposed to be a reader insert, so it probably works fine as a reader insert. Yes, I named our character out of a pure lack of creativity to choose names and self-indulgence, but let's ignore it, the name is here just for the sake of the fact that I'm more used to writing in the third person. I'm unable to do long stuff in second-person POV, I'm sorry besties. Our girl is described as having curled bleached hair (I'm sorry, bleached hair has become my personality after I bleached mine after years of craving for it.), but you can just replace it for any other color/type of hair.
Summary: After being intentionally placed sitting side by side in a bar by their friends, Jack and Ana realized they have more affinity than they expected. Tastes align in multiple things; both are passionate about animals; and both like the idea of living on a ranch surrounded by animals, furthermore, at the end of the day, there are open wounds that only someone who has been through something similar can understand.
All dividers are from the amazing @saradika-graphics

Will create works that contain: Tropes/elements: character studies, angst, soulmates, slow burn, mutual or one-sided pining, self-sacrifice, amnesia, time travel, reincarnation, fake relationship, relationship of convenience, hurt/comfort, de-aging, dream world, presumed dead, temporary or permanent death, post-breakup, getting together, getting back together, post-Infinity War to post-Endgame, substance abuse and recovery, grief/mourning, parental/child and mentor/mentee relationships, friendship over the years, Tony’s family issues, dark Steve, pre-serum Steve, Hanahaki, hauntings, betrayal, forgiveness AUs: canon-divergent, mafia/gangster, magic, sports, non-powered, high school or college, supernatural, horror, sci-fi, etc. I love AUs! For writing, I tend to focus on one specific moment or a series of small moments, feelings, and relationships more than action-packed plots.
Will not create works that contain: I’m up for most things except some extreme kinks, incest, adult/minor romantic relationships, and infidelity or partner abuse in a ship (unless you're referencing a canon plot point). I'm fine with infidelity and abuse involving a villain as long as it's not OOC. I don’t have any triggers. If you want me to elaborate on my do-not-wants or have a trope, kink, or plot point that you’re not sure I’ll be okay with, please contact me beforehand. Betaing: A/B/O, D/S, OOC, PWPs, OCs, self-inserts, pure fluff without plot, Darcy-centric fics, Hydra character-centric fics, unbalanced CW plots. I’m not that fond of coffeeshop AUs, but I can help with them Writing: A/B/O, D/S, poly, comedy, complicated plots, crack, 100% pure fluff/domestic plots, kidfic (unless it’s canon), AUs that require a lot of specific knowledge (e.g., historical AUs or military AUs), reality TV AU, zombie AU, animal transformation, unbalanced CW plots, Hydra Steve

Will create works for the following relationships: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark - AvAc, MCU, Noir Bruce Banner & Clint Barton & Steve Rogers & Natasha Romanov & Tony Stark & Thor - MCU Miles Morales & Miles Morales - Earth-42, Spider-Verse (animated films)
Work Description: This fic will probably be 1.5–3k. It’s possible that it may end up longer as has been the case before, but I can’t make any promises. It might take me a while to finish it as I’m slow at writing and RL keeps me busy, so please keep that in mind when bidding. I’m very interested in writing canon-compliant fics or fics set in canon, especially ones that act like snapshots of the characters at a specific time in their lives or a character/relationship study. I do love AUs as well, but I’ll only write AUs for Steve/Tony for this auction. I would appreciate it if you gave me several prompts, both general and specific, to choose from as that will increase the likelihood of the story being finished faster and lessen the likelihood of me getting writer’s block. If you have any questions about what I will and won’t write, don’t hesitate to reach out to me! I’d also like it if you reached out to me before bidding if you’re thinking of forming a pod bid.

Work Description: I can help with SPaG/copyediting, flow/structure, continuity, and America-picking, and I particularly love discussing characterization, world building, plot, and character development. I love character and relationship studies and contemplative pieces that dive deeply into who the characters are and how they feel, but I also like plots that tackle serious issues or big canon points, complex plots, and plots with multiple layers/levels. I'm also up for cheer reading if you're looking for that instead! Turnaround depends on fic length and my schedule. I’m relatively fast, but if something comes up, I’ll let you know immediately. If you need references from people I betaed for, let me know. Notes on relationships: I’m willing to beta some ships along with gen/platonic relationships for the fandoms listed above. Notes on characters: There are some characters whom I’m not that fond of or interested in. I’m open to betaing almost anything, provided it follows my wants/DNWs, even with characters I’m less keen about/don’t care for, but feel free to contact me if you have questions about this. Notes on universes: For 616 and Ults, I’ll only do an AU or a story that doesn’t require specific knowledge of canon events for me to beta properly. I’ve only watched a handful of AA episodes. I’m open to Noir, AvAc, 3490, EMH, AA, 1872, Bullet Points, and Earth-TRN634 (Civil Warrior) for Steve/Tony as well.

🌟 Player:
7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?
23. Favorite picture of this character? (Like, favorite appearance for them?)
(For this)
7. I absolutely love it when people are as canon compliant as they can be with them. Like fics that don’t give them a set name and fics that try as hard as they can to limit their speaking and stick to the personality we see in canon. Or when outside of that we just call them Player.
Like the self inserts can be fun too and I have nothing against them, but I absolutely love that Player has just become their own character outside of their original self insert purpose.
20. Well, I’m gonna be captain obvious here and say Ephemer and Skuld. I am deeply mentally ill about the Chi Trio.
But, hot take, (I think) I actually believe that they and Skuld are closer than them and Ephemer. Like obviously they knew each other for more than one day, and that’s certainly a factor in my headcanon, but there still the fact that they went through the build up to the Keyblade War together and both seemed to be actively trying to stop the fighting in the streets.
And I still want to include Ephemer. He’s a close friend to both of them and loosing him and him sending them dreams is ultimately what brought the two of them together. He also was the one to make Player start asking some more questions and taking more risks, which helps keep their life interesting (and the plot going lol)
23. I’m gonna be basic and say Player’s default design is my favourite appearance for them. It’s just the one I associate most with canon Player.

This was my first ever published fanfic, originally posted on AO3 as JustAWriterBee. I’m fairly certain I wrote it in the notes app on my phone and it’s definitely not beta read, but it’s cute and I still like it. I’ve included the summary, tags, and author’s note from AO3 with a few new additions below. Thanks for reading!
Summary :  Nishinoya suggested you rent an apartment together, because why not? You basically grew up together, it’s cheaper and better than staying in the dorms, what’s not to like? Only now, you’re spending just about every waking moment together and it is getting harder and harder for Nishinoya to act like he’s not in love with you, and you with him. He’s grateful for the upcoming reprieve of a month-long training camp with the volleyball club, nervous too, of course, but grateful. Maybe he can get his head on straight or work up the courage to tell you how he feels.

Nishinoya had known he was in love with you for as long as he could remember. He knew when you were 6 and he was 8, you fell off the slide at the playground and he was the only one who noticed. You held out your hand and asked him to kiss your ouchie, a scrape on your palm.
He did, happily, and walked you hand in hand to your mother. You intertwined your fingers with his so easily, like it was the only thing to do, and you smiled up at him with a smile like the sun. He knew then. He was reminded when you were 11 and he was 13 when you offered him half of your cookie because he dropped his. It was your favorite kind and you didn’t even hesitate. Of course, you should give him part of your cookie. It was only fair.
And again, when you were 16 and he was 18 and about to graduate high school and he failed his college entrance exam. You promised him it didn’t matter, that he would pass the next time for sure, you would help with anything you could, and he would get into the volleyball club. He was the best libero ever, nobody could turn him down!
He did pass the next year, and he did make the team. Just like you said he would.
You knew you were in love with Nishinoya in your first year of high school when he showed you around the whole school and introduced you to his entire volleyball team like you were the most important person that had ever graced the gym. He held your hand and acted like he didn’t even notice the side eyes and half-hidden snickers of his teammates. But he had always been that way. Other people’s opinions or assumptions never bothered him.
They bothered you though. You were already turning pink across your cheeks and the bridge of your nose, even though you’d held his hand for years. Why did it matter now? Was it the audience?
Nishinoya squeezed your hand in his, bringing you back to the present because someone had just asked you a question and you hadn’t heard a word. “Oh yeah,” he’d answered for you, “they were on their middle school’s soccer team! I bet our team already has a jersey with their name on it!” He continued on, saying something about your last game. You figured they had asked if you were going to join a club, but it didn’t matter. Not in the wake of Nishinoya talking about you like you had hung the moon. When did that happen? Did he always smile like that? Was it always so breathtaking?
All too soon, his practice was starting, and you had to let him go. Your hand burned like you’d held fire, and in some ways, maybe you had. Watching him walk away, you knew then.
But, as it often does, your love went unsaid. You were both too afraid of the other not feeling the same, and he couldn't risk your friendship. You didn't want to confess, because, knowing Nishi, he would want to try and stay friends, and you didn't know if you could handle him knowing and ignoring it. So the years go by, and you, on accident, obviously, go to the same college as him. Then, Nishinoya suggested you rent an apartment together, because why not? You basically grew up together, it’s cheaper and better than staying in the dorms, what’s not to like?
Only now, you’re spending just about every waking moment together and it is getting harder and harder for Nishinoya to act like he’s not in love with you, and you with him. He’s grateful for the upcoming reprieve of a month-long training camp with the volleyball club, nervous too, of course, but grateful. Maybe he can get his head on straight or work up the courage to tell you how he feels. Most likely the former, but you never know.
You, on the other hand, were not excited about being alone in your shared apartment for the first time in almost a year. Not for fear of your safety, no. Because it’ll be silent. You won’t wake up to Nishi bouncing a volleyball on his fingertips so he can get better at his sets, or his breathing so loud it might as well be snoring, or the sound of breakfast cooking on a Saturday morning. Which you help with, always, he just tends to start without you, and that’s fine. He isn’t much of a morning person otherwise, but he never misses a Saturday. Well, he hadn't until now, anyway.
It was Friday evening, and Nishinoya had left for his training camp four hours prior. He had texted shortly afterward, that he was on the bus and wanted to take a nap but would text again when he got there.
It was a two-hour drive, he should have been there by now. Maybe he just didn’t have time, and that was fine, you thought. You’d just have to make yourself busy, and he would definitely call the next day, at least. It was Saturday, after all. You spent the evening tidying up the apartment and working on homework, trying to keep yourself busy. Only, tidying up and homework don’t last forever. It got to the point that you had wiped down every surface you could reach, and it was still only 8 PM. Not really time for bed, but not early enough to start a new movie or get into a game before you would be tired.
You found yourself wandering into Nishinoya’s room, to grab his laundry so it would be ready to do the next day. Not to grab his comforter so you could sleep with it and smell him and feel like he was still there, absolutely not. You lifted his laundry basket to your hip and exited the room, one stray comforter corner dragging the floor.
When both baskets of laundry, yours and his, were set out to be done, you flopped onto the couch, wrapped up like a burrito. Grabbing the tv remote, you turned on a show you’d seen before, just something to make noise while you laid there.
You kept checking your phone every few minutes, hoping his name would pop up and disappointing yourself every time. He was busy. It had only been a few hours. He would answer when he had time, you weren’t his partner or anything.
Nishinoya couldn’t quite figure out what he had done wrong. He’d texted you to let you know he’d made it to his training camp, and that they were going to practice a little before they had dinner as a group, so he’d be busy but would answer you when he could. And yet, nothing all evening.
His captain kept looking at him like he had something on his face, and one of his teammates asked him if he was okay. Jeez, was he really so heart on his sleeve that they could tell he was put out?
“Yeah of course I’m okay, just tired!” He answered, waving a hand like they nothing to worry about. Maybe he was in more trouble than he thought, and this training camp had come at just the right time.
He waited to text again until they got back from dinner, around 9:30. He didn’t want to seem too clingy. It was the first day he was gone, after all. Opening your text thread, he realized his mistake. In his excitement, he typed the text and hadn’t hit send, leaving you waiting for his response. Well, shit.
Hey, I am SO sorry. I forgot to hit send earlier! I made it safe and we even already had practice! I’ll talk to you tomorrow! :)
“Okay mom, I gotta go, Nishi’s gonna be back any time now! Yes yes, I’ll tell him you said hi. Uh-huh. Yup, I’ll tell you how his camp went. Alright, I love you too!” You tossed your phone on the couch and shook your arms to try and clear away the jitters. It didn’t help. It had been a whole month since you saw the spiky-haired boy, and even though you spoke two or three times a week, it still felt like ages. The apartment was damn near sparkling clean, and dinner was just about finished. Now you just needed Nishi to walk through the door and everything would be perfect. Only, it took him much longer to get home than you expected.
Nishinoya adjusted his duffel bag on his shoulder and pulled out his house key, twisting it in the lock. He paused before he opened it, taking a deep breath to settle his nerves. Over the course of the training camp, he had gotten stronger. Physically, but he’d also steeled himself to finally tell you how he felt. Come hell or high water, it needed to be said. He couldn’t keep tiptoeing around his feelings. And if you didn’t want to be friends anymore, he’d made plans to move in with a teammate until he could find his own place. He would pay his half of the rent, of course, he’d never leave you hanging like that.
Pushing the door open, he dropped his bag on the floor and kicked off his shoes. He closed the door behind him, taking in the apartment and the already plated dinner, but you were nowhere to be seen. You would have told him if you were going to be out, so you had to be there somewhere. He walked around the couch and there you were, sprawled out under his comforter. Well. That’s new. Crouching in front of you, Nishinoya carefully shook your shoulder. Enough to wake you up, but not so much it would shock you. His face split into a grin when your eyes fluttered open and you mumbled a greeting that was lost in a yawn and a stretch.
“Hey, sleepyhead. Have a good nap?” He teased, his heart beginning an unsteady pounding at what he was planning.
“Yes, sorry. I missed you,” You answered, pushing yourself into a seated position, adjusting the blanket around you. You were suddenly very awake because there was Nishi, and here was his blanket and he was going to notice. Your cheeks flushed with heat, and dammit. Now there’s no way he wouldn’t notice.
Nishinoya couldn’t help a laugh at the face you were pulling and the very obvious blush. He shifted onto his knees and pulled you into a hug, hoping you couldn’t feel his heart racing. You hoped the same, but honestly, with the blush, it was a little late for that.
“Seems like you missed me a lot,” he tilted his head at his blanket, “but that’s okay. I missed you a lot too.” He sat back until he could see your face, keeping one hand on the couch and the other on your knee. It was now or never. He didn’t want to drag it out any longer.
You could tell something was on his mind. The way he spoke, the way his hug was a little stiff, the resolve in his gaze. Maybe he’d met a girl at the camp and he was going to tell you about it. Or he wanted to move out. Or both!
“I have a crush on you. I have as long as I can remember.” It was such a relief to get the words out. You looked shocked, but not upset or unhappy, so he forged on. “I realized when I was gone that I didn’t want to come back and let things go back to normal. I started dreaming about you a week and a half in. Nothing gross I swear! Just you, around the apartment, doing homework, or hanging out. But, anyway.
"I didn’t want to say anything before this because I didn’t want to lose you. But I can’t keep hiding it anymore,” Nishinoya let out a big sigh before continuing, not really registering your reactions anymore, “I understand if you don’t want me to live here anymore. I have my living situa-“
You cut off his speech by throwing yourself off the couch and into his arms. Which probably knocked the wind out of him, judging by the thump his back made when it hit the floor.
“No, I don’t want you to move out!” He took a second to register his new position and the words you’d just said before propping himself up on his elbows to look you in the eyes. They looked red, was that because you were going to cry? A good cry, or a bad cry?
“You don’t? It won’t make you uncomfortable, having me here still?” He wasn’t wrong, you were about to cry. He was confessing to you! And it was the good kind! He felt the same way, and he liked you for even longer than you had liked him! Somehow, that made you feel better and worse. How had you missed that? Shaking your head in both an answer to his question and a way to bring you back to the moment, you finally noticed how awkwardly you had landed on him. Your head was about chest level, his left thigh between your legs, and the blanket was trapped in the middle.
“No of course not. I’d be dumb to be uncomfortable around my boyfriend, wouldn’t I?” You answered, going for teasing and confident but it came out shaky from the tightness in your throat. You had started crying some time between his question and your answer, apparently. You didn’t notice the tears until they made dark splatters on his white shirt. Nishinoya sat up quickly, bringing you up with him so you were kneeling over his leg and just about eye to eye.
“I guess that would be pretty dumb.” He brought a hand up to your face, wiping a tear away with his thumb. He was so close, you might as well be sharing the same air. You couldn’t help a nervous laugh escaping, not sure where to go from there. Nishinoya had no such problem.
“Can.. can I kiss you?” He whispered, his thumb following his eyes as they moved across your bottom lip. Your heart stopped at the drag of his calloused skin and restarted at a breakneck pace when his eyes caught yours.
“Please.” He wasted no time, closing the short distance until nothing but a hairsbreadth separated your lips from his. You tilted your head up the last bit to get your lips on his. His lips were dry and a little chapped but that was exactly what you expected. His hand pressed a little more firmly into your jaw, keeping you close but not pushing any further.
When you finally broke apart, you couldn’t fight the smile overwhelming you. All these years and all it took was a training camp to make him realize he was absolutely in love with you and didn’t want to spend a minute more pretending he wasn’t.
“You know, I think the boys have a bet on us. And I think the captain just won.”

Author’s Note : This is my very first published Fic and It is absolutely self indulgent fluff. Also, I'm sorry if Noya feels a little OOC, I was struggling to get a handle on his voice. Please let me know what you think, and thanks for reading!

some cool observations I figured out after asking myself what makes a good fanfic
I wanted to randomly talk about how wonderful fanfiction is. Like really. It’s genuinely one of the most wonderful experiences being here has to offer. I’ve been having a really tough time these past few weeks, and the only thing that keeps getting me through a day has been to sit down and read a couple long fics. I’m an avid AO3 reader (don’t you dare suggest any other platform for me for reading, I like the organization okay), which yeah means I don’t read as carefully as the next person but I do read like 90% of the fic so that means something right? Reading a whole 300,000 words a day, while still having time to cook three meals separately, have a two hour tutoring session, and some space to freak out over my AP scores has got to be a superpower.
Anyways, my point is this: fanfiction is fucking amazing. How many ways worlds can come together, how many times characters can fall in love and it doesn’t get boring is just that, fucking amazing. The amount of great material I’ve found has been stellar. And since I’ve had so many hours to waste the past two weeks, my urge for fanfic reading has been consistently there. Which is strange to me because I’ve barely wanted to read, period. Academic, casual, printed, or online for months. But fanfiction is perfectly centered in what I love.
Yet I was thinking how do you make a good fanfic? After all, there’s so much, some of it is just better than the rest. And I figured I’d explore that.
Firstly, there’s the whole charm of fanfiction, since there’s something powerful in having characters you know. I’d like to highlight that it’s entirely possible and true that people can have completely different experiences in the fanfiction world. There’s Y/N and its whole self insert genre, and there’s the whole original characters' situation in universes that are explored within the OG material. Of course there’s a whole sub division of fanfic readers that love it, adore it, write it, and consume it, and who am I to judge? I guess when I say good fanfiction in this post, it’s about how good character based fanfiction works out. Because in my eyes, good fanfiction challenges the framing of a character, and works to develop a tangible change in both internal and external measures. For example, I was reading this two part (not-yet-fully-completed-but-doesn’t-really-end-in-a-cliffhanger-so-it’s-okay-as-someone-that-doesn’t-like-reading-uncomplete-stuff-I-give-the-green-light) Spideypool fic where the ship mainly worked as an empowering device for the story of Peter Parker (spoilers guys, he’s Spider-Man) finding connection, with his boss (it’s Harry Osborn :o), with his fellow superheroes, with his dying aunt, with his new boyfriend, and finally, with himself. The fic works with multiple characters to develop the plot. Good character based fanfiction in this case revolves about the multiple relationships developed between said explored characters. Because characters are fundamentally different from the source material, writing them and giving them needs and actions that feel indebted to the original want of the characters and balancing their choice from said wants is hard. It’s a fine line, tying it all up. Developing something independent from the original material to some extent, from a possibly canon compliant conversation to a whole different universe, and using that independence to further an enrichment of a world or character is necessary. Otherwise, stories bring themselves to a stalemate. Otherwise, stories bring themselves to lack character and connection to the reader.
Meanwhile, in I Was Screaming Your Name Through The Radio (a musician!au Soukoku fic) works with incredible storytelling design, using a past and present narrative as well as work with the characters' feelings and journeys with the description of music and their lyrics. Good fanfiction, here, uses positively impacting narrative tools to develop a good, tightly done story. In the fic, the development of falling in love, betrayal, heartbreak, and healing are explored. The way the characters connect, disconnect, and reconnect is just amazing. And the way that connection or lack thereof is explored works well with the narrative style of story. Two POVs, each having two time spaces. These POVs worked around the release date of Corruption, the fictional song the two main characters created together in the fic. The interaction between time settings allowed to further explore the characters’ memories and experiences wholly. It was a better choice than to write linearly. Much more entertaining as well. This is good fanfiction, using the narrative to explore and enrich once again the story.
Finally, there’s the greatest, most important aspect for a good fic. A great story. I wanted to highlight my first auditive fanfic in my life, and the only author I’ve been so unquestionably loyal to since I first heard her story: Mira Miraculous Ladybug Fanfiction on YouTube has forever been feeding me with rich stories, great jokes, and heartbreaking tears. What A Catch works as a creative outlet of all the powerful characters and their archetypes, and applies both a challenging reframe of a character and great narrative control. The story begins with all the main characters of the series as adults, in a wedding, unaware of the twisted memories that Hawkmoth has influenced. The story develops and explores something further than the previous two discussed factors. Before getting to that though, I want to clear up, I love romance fanfiction. It’s what I read 99.9% of the time. But I also enjoy stories that further the relationship not just with internal plot devices. The story of Marinette and Adrien is a long one, especially in the real world when the show’s been airing since 2015. However, there’s a magic in exploring something outside situations while adapting the narrative to continue the story already explored. Developing mayhem, confusion, stakes, as well as creating character growth within the flaws and victories that come with the challenges set in a fanfiction is important. Essential. Otherwise, fanfics turn into retellings, lightly chipping away the power of a story and beginning to re-make something already done. Archetypes are tools to work on choices, wants, and needs of a plot device. Characters breathe and feel with their own choices, wants, and needs along said plot. And stories? They make characters and feelings and experiences simply real.
In conclusion, what makes good fanfiction? In my humble opinion, it brings the following things. As expressed previously, first of all comes the challenging reframing of a character where depth is furthered or a new role is given. Consequently, the character keeps its original charm and familiarity while still developing a growth within the story and itself. Secondly, there’s the usage of palpable narrative control. Using narrative and literary devices to explore a story creates a better execution to the plot and the whole experience of the tale being told. Additionally, I’d like to plug in here that this requires good grammar and developed vocabulary (this doesn’t mean you need to be wordy or overwhelmingly poetic, just enjoyably readable). Thirdly, there’s the banger. The true reason stories can be done over and over again: they’re not being done over and over again. A good fanfic tells something new, explores something better, explains something different. A good fanfic has originality in its fundamental magic. For something to genuinely work as a banger in my book, you have to tell something I haven’t heard before. Something that will capture the reader. You can read a hundred coffee shop AUs, but did all of them make you feel the same, did all of them make you taste the need for more? Probably not. Because some of them will have something more than the fundamental establishment of the AU. Because there’s something new under the surface of the plot. I’ve listed three very different fanfics. One was clearly driven in canon spaces, another in a completely alternative universe, and the final one works after the culmination of the work explored in the original material. Fanfiction is endless, and it’s powerful. People may spit on its masterpieces, but we know its beauty. And it is as dashing as the sun, it is as changing as the ocean, and it is perfectly fitting of the puzzle that we’ve created for our comfort, our mind, and our heart.
Thank you for reading this far!
Happy reading <3 PS: This was the Spideypool fanfic in case anyone was interested

Bryan with lava eyes :DDD
It’s been a while since I fully colored smth :,)
Here’s the Sketch and the one with a background!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I attempted to make lava. I’m not sure if it went well lmao.
I also don’t know how to draw or render muscles but BUFF BRYAN SUPREMACY!
HE IS SLIGHTLY TONED BUT HE CAN FLATTEN A STONE FUCKING COUNTER THATS CANON FIGHT ME
Honestly, I’m not sure if I can write this AU. With confidence I mean. I already got like a 15k word outline going on and it’s still going and it’s been like that for the past 3 years. Yeah. Pretty crazy. But if I can’t write this then I might resort into posting a bulleted list on what I should’ve written in the betterment of those 3 years instead of making a long ass outline to get it out into the world.
I love this AU, you have no idea, but it is so hard to write. So bear with me. I’ll give a bit of insight into it.
• This is a canon divergence of the canon timeline where instead of Bryan taking the hit, it’s Molten taking the hit. (My guy is not having a great time. Both of them.)
• This AU is canon defiant to the actual lore in Bryan’s series. A lot actually. This is a bit more canon compliant to the Fnaf storyline. Focusing more on spirits and souls than portals and portal magic. Soul juice produced from murdered children. All that good stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I love the series but I wish it focused on the souls of the kids and their stories if only a little.
• Let’s say there are a lot of hidden secrets in the old pizzeria that Bryan would carry to his grave. Most of them is guilt. The other is shame borderlining to self loathing.
• “No one would ever believe you.” :)
• This AU’s pov is also on the animatronics side. Mostly Freddy, Helpy (the old one), and maybe probably Foxy (the Rockstar one) I miss them, okay?
• Pat is around too. Watching over the animatronics while getting deathly afraid of them for a definite period of time before making friends with them because wow, those robots aren’t actually gonna force them into a Freddy Fazbear suit. Why did they listen to a pre-recorded message anyway?
• Jon is the one that stumbles onto the secret. But its not complete. He wonders where he should find the other pieces.
• You know OG Freddy? How he was repaired? Yeah. That part wasn’t the only thing that brought him back to life.
• And the monitor Lefty stole from the pizzeria? Maybe Egg Baby? Wonder whats that for?
• The book that Bryan gave to Twisted Bonnie also changed. Still has the blueprints of the animatronics but of different animatronics.
• “Hmmmm, I wonder what I can do for Baby’s birthday? How can I make it her happiest day of her shortlived li—wait, can I even say that?????”
• Also, does anyone know what happened to Twisted Freddy? Did he just become the wind or what? We’ll see.
• Since Lefty didn’t die, let’s say Shadow Freddy had other places to be. And Twisted Wolf? Honestly forgot about that guy hahaha I’ll think of something.
• Oh! EB (Evil Bryan) is there too! Like actually.
• It’s quite funny to have two short humans going on offense while literal monsters go on support and defense lmao. What a bunch of losers.
• “See you on the flipside!”
• Hey. What’s up with Bryan’s eyes?
That’s all for now. Maybe I’ll post another one or work on a chapter? Who knows…
I can’t promise anything. I can only promise that the next will take a whileeeeeeee, a post or a chapter.
I still have not named this AU and marked it as INSERT TITLE HERE.
And to those that recognize that title, I am so sorry. I literally redid the first 5 chapters, finished 4, then dropped it off at chapter 7-8. Chapter 1-4 are finished but 5-8 is a land mine. I don’t know how to keep it going lmao. No really, it’s a struggle writing this dang thing and I want it out of my head too. I can’t promise any chapters or that I’m working on it because I’m so busy but I did not forget it if thats what you’re thinking. It’s just hard to write. Like really hard. That’s why I focused a bit on oneshots.
One things for sure though. It’s either chapter 5, 6, or 7 BUT—
Minigames. Plus Springtrap.
ITH!Bryan: Oh joy.
Feel free to ask questions about this AU! I’d be happy to answer! (Most of them anyway. Can’t reveal everything.)

Saw someone else do it and I think I've done this before too, but the list has grown since then a bit so here's my current lineup of read dead wips that I'm working on!! :D Minus the stuff that's already posted on AO3 cuz I see no point in doing a synopsis for things that have left my google drive and you can go and read ahah.
Turned out loooooong so lookie under the cut if you're interested in knowing what I'm up to.
Morston Soulmate AU (title tba, multichapter, around 20-30k when finished) - An AU where you can feel all the injuries your soulmate gets, both minor and major ones. There's no soul marks, seeing your soulmate get hurt and connecting the dots is the only way to find out. Has a lot of time skips and focuses more on feelings than events, but starts out pre-canon when John almost gets lynched and works its way towards the end of the canon story. Chapters alternate between Arthur's and John's POV. Canon compliant :)
RDR2 "Modern AU" (title tba, multichapter, long as shit) - I only call it a modern AU for the sake of simplicity... I'm not sure if it counts as one. Set in 1999 and focuses on the case of Arthur Matthews -- a 36 year old adoptive son of the infamous criminal defence lawyer Hosea Matthews, who went missing without a trace for six months and then reappeared miles from his hometown, seemingly unharmed, but also... not quite right. Delusional, confused, suffering from some sort of memory impairment. The story is about Arthur struggling to adapt to being back home in a reality that is apparently foreign to him. Outsider's/John's POV, but not really shippy. It can be read as pre-slash, though.
My Self-Indulgent Jesse/Arthur fic (another title tba lol, it's too early to tell but I'm thinking multichapter? A collection of scenes from 1878 to 1899) - This one is for me and me only, though I will eventually post it 😂 Written in second person, like a reader-insert and can be read as one if someone wants to, but I am including Jesse's backstory and feelings that are way too specific to be immersive for anyone but myself... I'm working real hard to write it in a way that portrays growing up queer in that time somewhat realistically, so it's not always pretty, but I do try to keep it not that depressing. Features: Jesse's early-life backstory, the story of the scar, his first Gay Experience, how his brothers died, the ups and downs of his relationship with Arthur, why they eventually broke up for what felt like last time, how he got arrested (altered RDO storyline bit) and how he got back up with the gang. I'm planning to do a rough rewrite/fix-it of the canon story with him in it too, but that's... an "one day" thing ajsddjfk
Morston Omegaverse (title tba, one shot, around 10-15k probably? I can't keep things short, sorry) - Young-ish and freshly presented Alpha John, "Closeted" Omega Arthur. Ngl this one is smutty as hell... but! I think my take on omegaverse is rather fun (very transgendered) and it's porn WITH not without plot so something for everyone there lol. John's POV again + lotsa feelings, misunderstandings and some angst :) Just the way I like it.
Vandermatthews Daemon AU (had a title but ao3 yeeted my draft and I forgot what it was, oops)- I say Vandermatthews, but it's more of a "curious couple, unruly son" genfic than real slashfic 😅 This is supposed to be the beginning a series of oneshots from different characters' POV. This one is maybe a 1/3 done (needs a serious rewrite tho) and written from Hosea's POV. It's about him and Dutch finding and taking in young Arthur -- a very traumatised child who has undergone intercision and therefore lost his daemon. More of a collection of vignettes from that moment to when they take in John than a real coherent fic tho. The next one is going to be John's POV coming of age thing and we'll see where my brain will go from there. I want to do a separate big ass post about this one later because I have Opinions on the gang members' daemons that I need either challenged or validated...
1907!John/Isaac fic (title tba... a two parter, one set in the epilogue and the second is a RDR1 fix-it) - NOW HEAR ME OUT!!!!!! PUT DOWN THE GODDAMN PITCHFORKS FOR A SECOND PLS This is a plot bunny that Refused To Fucking Die. Isaac is obviously an adult in this (22), they have never met before, and the story begins in the months where Abigail and Jack were gone and John worked alone on Pronghorn ranch. It's not so much a romance (despite the slash) but more two people dealing with different types of grief in Very Unhealthy ways, okay. It's supposed to be a bit iffy because of that and the... 12 years of difference between them in this universe. I'm not trying to make this shit uwu or anything. It's also a bit of a daddy issues vent piece for me and I've been working it for MONTHS because I want to write this one right. This is the the fic I redacted in my last WIP showcase, but now decided that... fuck it. Here you go.
(Doubt anyone has made it this far, but if you did ily.. please lemme know what you think? My ask box is open for questions too... I love talking about the stuff I'm working on even if it's not posted yet ❤)

I think I have a hard time writing with YA muses because all YA fiction (with very few exceptions) is written in exactly the same cringey way with the self insert having two guys falling over themselves to love her, their personalities lacking any traction beyond that, all the while she has virtually no factors that make her interesting. They ALL have the same awful dialogue where her main love interest is teased by his friends about her because he loves her so much, because it's the ultimate fantasy that a hot guy will fall for the self insert girl who thinks she's The Shit because the author herself is insecure and can't act like that in real life so she just fucking projects. They ALL have the idiotic love triangle thing that makes no sense and is better off not existing or just being a poly ship. They ALL have the self insert being overpowered and cooler than everyone else because she's both the author's fantasy and a blank slate for the readers to project on.
Anyway, it's hard to write with YA muses (especially the self insert main character muse) because the muns often use canon as an excuse to make their muse a continuation of the irritating self insert that the author already made her. It's nice to see someone go "the author overpowered this character so I'm dialing it down" or "the love triangle is ridiculous I'm giving her a specific love interest/shipping with chemistry only" etc. but it only seems to happen within specific fandoms and the rest have to suffer from awful canon-compliant characterizations of the self insert (or the opposite, where the mun cuts out the author's self insertion and puts their own there instead - not better in the slightest, and it's so GLARINGLY obvious whenever it happens) Before someone tries to twist my words, I don't 'hate all female muses' - I can't tolerate the female muses or the male muses in these books equally, and sometimes the male muses can be so so much worse because they're just objectifying hot guy fantasies with no substance! And what I actually hate is shitty, lazy, writing, whether it's from a mun or the original author, and that's why I can't read most YA fiction, let alone write with most YA fiction muses. It's intolerable. If you really want to pick up such a train wreck of a muse, at least try and fix SOMETHING before complaining that you're not getting interactions because "wahh, my muse is female and you all hate female muses"

progression of my TF2 self insert's design
the og ref was from last April
I'm actually hella proud of my progress ngl, both design wise and art wise as a whole
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly not a whole lot really changed. Altered the hair to match my current hair, made the fit a little more realistic/detailed but with a bit of my current style. Kept the same weapons because while they're basic I wanted to make em personal to me. I used to be super into archery, and a bow is like the one weapon I know how to use. The karambit is because they're my favorite kinda knife, and the brick is based off an inside joke :3
Overall I tried to make him slightly more canon compliant but also make him me because. he is
Idk I'm yappin
Throwback to when I posted the first ref on reddit a year ago and got absolutely flamed 😭😭

Okay.
Lore of my FmAB ocs (part one):
DISCLAIMER!! These ocs and story began being created on my huge fma phase during 2019-2020 and have been evolving until I established a somehow (official) canon. They begun as a shared roleplay like story made between me and an old friend, and they kind of begun as self insert oc. That's why some of the info about my ocs will resemble aspects of me (like their nationalities or personality).
This, is Val Skłodowska (They/Her, non-binary sapphic)
(Sorry for the bad quality image btw it was in the middle of the page)
Tumblr media
And this is their sister, Mari (Marisol) Pérez (She/Her, cisgender, bi + aroace spectrum)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are my two main FMA oc. Initially, their lore was created between me and another friend. Unfortunately we fell out and I had to rebuild the lore adaptating it and creating characters based off my friend's (I don't want to use her characters without her consent).
Anyways, to set up the ground of the lore, first we need to look at their family history.
Though both Val and Mari have the Amestrian nationality, both their parents are immigrants from different countries: Their father, Manuel Marià Pérez Ferrer is an alchemy student/miner from the country of Creta; and their mother, Nadzieja Skłodowska is a tailor from Drachma.
Here I have to admit that my headcanons played a huge role. Creta is canonically based off spanish culture yes, but I like to imagine it is somehow distributed like actual spain, implying there are certain nations inside the country that are culturally different (invaded). Manuel comes from a southern cretan family (what would be like Andalucía) whom moved and married a family from the north-east (equivalent of Catalonia).
Nadzieja comes from a region of Drachma that would resemble Poland (Drachma is shown to be similar to Russia, and since Fullmetal Alchemist is set up on the 1910's it's not weird to assume an equivalent to Poland is still colonized within the equivalent of Russia). Probably on the southern part of the country.
Their parents emigrated and started working and met in Central, later moving to Youswell, where they would start living together and where they later had their two children and married.
Val was born first, before their parents got married. They were initially named "Valeria Skłodowska-Pérez" though they don't like that name at all and would rather be called just Val, or Val Skłodowska. A year and a half later, their parents decided to marry after Nadzieja got pregnant with Mari. Mari is actually a nickname, their full name is "Marisol Pérez", since Nadzieja already lost her single surname.
Their first years of life were quite caothic. Manuel wasn't a good parent at all, he was almost never at home due to working on the mine. Nadzieja had to raise the kids by herself, and also with the help of other women of the town, also while working on a convenience store. Val and Mari grew up together, and also took care of eachother as well.

These are little Val and Mari btw
Since they were little, Val was more rebellious towards their parents but very compliant with other children. However, Mari was the complete opposite to that. That because Manuel actually tried to form a stronger bond between him and Mari after his wife told him to care about his children a bit more (at that time, he was too focused on work). Manuel quickly realized his younger's child potential with alchemy, and decided to enroll Mari in alchemy studies since she was 7.
Due to the kids being so close, Mari told Val about it (9 at that time), and they begun to practice it together. Manuel saw this as a great opportunity to set a good future for his family, and decided to basically coerce his two kids into joining the army, after seeing how much money a state alchemist would get. And so, he started to manipulate the kids into studying alchemy.
At the beggining, he offered small rewards in exchange of the kids studying for certain hours. Which quickly became forcing his kids to compete with eachother to "improve" their motivation. Luckyly, Val was able to see through this scheme, since they weren't manipulated by their dad that much and also had a stronger relationship with other people outside Mari and Manuel. However, Mari fell even deeper into her father's manipulation, and so the siblings started to have a difficult relationship.
The events within the family worsened an already cold relationship between the parents which resulted on Nadzieja and Manuel arguing constantly. Val, then only 12, got the habit to eat outside and run away from home during family reunions; while Mari chose to endure them, usually taking sides with her dad.
At that point, Val had completely lost interest in alchemy. They loved alchemy, but they saw it as the thing that broke the relationships with their most beloved family members. That until they found a person whom they would refer to as their teacher, an ex state alchemist who deserted due to the Ishvalan genocide and left the army, who eventually made them love the art of alchemy again. As this happened, Mari was working on polishing her alchemy more and more to reach the expectations of her father.
At age 14, Val basically couldn't stand staying in the town anymore and after hearing the inspiring story of a kid named Edward Elric who became a state alchemist, they decided to give it a shot. Though the army was never of their liking, they thought by joining it they could prevent things like what happened with their sister to happen. And then, at age 14 and after a lot of practice, Val obtained their title as The Carbon Alchemist, specialized in carbon derivates (from pencils to diamonds).
Regarding Mari, she disappeard a few months later after her sibling became an state alchemist.
