It's a shame this show was cancelled after only two seasons, Season 2 is so good, the amount of character development and the easy to follow, but still connected episodes giving the universe a solid base... the big cast of potentially interesting characters, the sleek designs, Chameleon Boy and Garth and Timber Wolf and Phantom Girl... I miss you

Legion Of Superheroes

(The Legion of Superheroes in the 31st Century #3): Great, it's a Legion of Substitute Heroes special! Wonderful. I haven't even read many Legion of Superheroes comics (i've probably read next to none), but in making my reading list i learned of some of these weirdos. And honestly? Lightning Lad's expressions are pretty fun. All the facial expressions for this comic are fun. Props to the art team.

Mid-1980s Legion of Super-Heroes by John Byrne and Karl Kesel, from Superman (vol. 2) #8 (August, 1987).

It is based on an earlier pin-up of the LSH by Greg LaRocque and Larry Mahlstedt that was presented over in the Legion's own book.

The Byrne/Kesel version omits some Legionnaires, most notably Supergirl, who had died in Crisis On Infinite Earths, and whom Byrne would not reintroduce into his continuity - albeit in a different form - for another year.
