#brain eating amoeba

i fucking hate being a hypochondriac. there are so many things i used to love to do as a kid or wanted to do in the future that now i’m terrified to do bc i learned there’s a risk (even a small one) that i’ll contract an incurable illness that i didn’t know about before & didn’t realize i contracted until it’s too late & the disease has already spread too far into my brain and I’ll die a slow, painful death because of a seemingly innocuous decision i made. used to love petting the stray cats that hung around my old apartment, now i’m scared i’ll get rabies without realizing it (not just from a bite or scratch; even from the minute possibility of contracting it through their fur if their infected saliva came into contact with it while they were grooming themselves). used to love swimming in the lake bc my (ex-)stepdad would take us there on the weekend, now i’m scared i’ll catch the brain-eating amoeba if even the smallest drop of freshwater goes up my nose. always wanted to learn how to make garlic confit bc it looks so delicious, now i’m too scared to bc any garlic-in-oil dish (if stored improperly) carries with it the risk of botulism & i don’t wanna take any chances. this is not exaggeration or sarcasm. i genuinely live in fear of these possibilities occurring every day.
and those are just (at least what i call) the big three; that’s not even mentioning things like heart attacks (one time i had my dorm call the paramedics for what turned out to be acid reflux, another time i went straight to the health center bc my arm was sore), strokes (every once in a while i smile in the mirror to make sure my face isn’t drooping on one side), cancer (ESPECIALLY skin & breast cancer; the scariest thing is that it comes in so many forms and can affect literally anyone, anytime, anywhere, in any part of the body), covid (which i’ve already had 3 times & fear the effects it could have on my brain), etc. i can’t even pop the pimples around my nose anymore (despite my absolutely debilitating dermatillomania; unstoppable force vs immovable object) bc apparently that area of your face is called the “triangle of death” bc there’s so many blood vessels there & if you pop it then it could cause an infection that spreads straight to the brain and (you guessed it!) kills you.
and part of me wants to reassure myself that it’s all in my head and that most afflictions like these are incredibly rare (at least the big three, the other ones are more common), but the other part of me knows that even if they are rare they aren’t to be fucked with and fears the 0.01% chance that it COULD happen and will happen the minute i let my guard down. and what of the girl who cried wolf? what if i keep worrying about it happening so much every time i think it could happen and every time it turns out to be nothing, and then the one time i second-guess myself thinking “it was nothing the last 50 times, why would it be anything now?” it ends up being something? or worse, what if i try to express this to someone else and they don’t believe me because i freaked out about it so many times already and every time it turned out to be nothing but this time it turns out to be something? i know very well the warning signs and that i should always go to the doctor if i suspect i might have contracted something life-threatening (ESPECIALLY one of the big three), i would NEVER downplay the severity of something as serious as one of these, but how do i know when something is truly serious enough to warrant a visit? am i just gaslighting myself? am i overthinking it, or am i right to be afraid? how do i know when it’s the right time to be afraid? how do i stop living in fear? do i even want to stop living in fear knowing what i know now, knowing that i was so much more reckless than i thought when i was younger and have only survived this long through sheer dumb luck? why must life be so cruel that even the smallest actions carry with them the smallest chance of an excruciating death? why can’t i have shit in detroit?

Brain Eating Amobe and The Promised Neverland's Demons Reference
(repost bc i can't explain what i'm saying and have a bunch of writing mistake)
(Not a real theory but have sense)
Soooo
I found a reference about Naegleria fows (Brain eating Amoeba) and Demons in our beloved promised Neverland world
First of all i explain Demon's functions and then connected them to brain eating Amobe.
Demons can evolve with horizantal gene transfer. Demon's eat creature's brain ans evolve with brains. Also this Eating necessary for their lives but  human brain isn't necessary for them. Even human brain isn't necessary for their life demons want to think and reach humans brains. Norman says, in beginning Demons have bacteria-like appareance then shift with transformation
Naegleria Fows similarties with demons ( Brain Eating Amobe) These Amobea not an real Amobe and have a  bacteria-like appearance . Neagleri Fows actually a shape-shifting amoeboflagellate
In the start they have bacteria-like appearance (Demons have it too)
Norman says
Tumblr media
Amoeboflagellate means a one-celler creature who have characteristics found in both plants and animals.
It have functions which found plants and animals
Amoeboflagellate have a group which is names by prosist and in this group multiceller creatures doesn't have cells differentiated into tissues. This means if a tissue can heal by cells other tissue can heal with its own cells too(in the creatures who regenerate with mitosis all cells can do mitosis if this creature is one seller). For example human's retina cells can't heal but if we have same cells in all of our body parts -well this isn't working for human's lives- but retina tissue can heal. Because other tissues can heal
Naegleria Fows can do shape shift and have a life-cycle which build about shape-shift. Amoebas and this Amoeboflagellate doesn't have a specific shape
Tumblr media
Shapless Monsters
Naegleria Fows can kill a human by brain effected . They live in waters, make sudden and fatal brain damage.
There was a place named Goldy Pond where child die before they can't understand what happened
These are parallels i found and just want to share. I love Goldy Pond's reality
Tumblr media
In the end, want to hear a real theory ?Ray read about Brain eating Amoeba as a child and decided Demons eating brains. In Grace Field Ray talk to Norman about it but they both don't know Demons "need" eating brains or Demons evolve. In Lambda, Norman remember all Ray said and explore Demon's ecolvs
This just came to my mind from the first time i learn naegleria Fows. Hope this logical in its own because i think i even can't call this a theory
Maybe Ratri family try to contorl Demon's evolve with watching amoeba

My dearest Friends, Beloveds, and Beloathed,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this missive to inform you all that I inhaled water while in the shower, from which I will most assuredly die in two weeks time.
I shall remember you all fondly as I wait for thee in Heaven, unless you are one of my Beloathed, in which that case shall I bide my time in Hell until you, too, arrive to burn in perpetuity, and we continue our animosity eternal.
My Fondest Regards, or My Undying Vitriol,

Gossip restaurant
Listening to gossip and spreading it, is like you are suffering from the effects of a brain eating amoeba. You can’t tell if what they say is true, especially if the person isn’t known to you. You have one side and only that, you have no idea if you’re being fed scat. Now what would you think if that was a fact? That your friend, your pal and buddy was doing that? Gossip isn’t good for…

Climate Change is getting Real
By Arjuwan Lakkdawala
Ink in the Internet
Climate Change, Global Warming, have long been debated in the scientific community as the world's next possible disaster. However, there have been those who deny it's even happening.
Not anymore.
That is about to change for the worst. Especially because of diseases. For instance death by heatstrokes have increased under the blazing unprecedented temperatures. Natural disasters like floods, hurricanes, also release an aftermath of diseases.
In many articles we can read doctors complaining about how climate change is impacting the medical field.
These are not the only concerning factors to the impending climate disaster.
The months of July, August, September, usually when people travel for the summer, have now something very concerning. A stark warning. That is the "Brain-Eating Amoebae." These are the months in which risk of infection is highest due to the high temperatures.
It's a free-living single cell organism that thrives in warm freshwater.
It can only be seen through a microscope. The American CDC (Centers for Disease Control) have a page with extensive description about the bug, and it says that there is no warning regarding the bug in any body of water, and one must assume it is present in any warm freshwater because it occurs naturally.
So what does the bug do exactly? Infections are almost always fatal, the scientific name for this species of amoeba is Naegleria Fowleri.
It enters the body through the nose, when a person dives while swimming, or in anyway if the contaminated water gets into the nose. From there the bug travels to the brain where is tunnels deep into brain tissue, causing necroptosis and hemorrhage, followed by edema (swelling of the brain) a person can slip into a coma and die within days.
It is very difficult to treat this highly fatal infection that is called Primary Amobic Meningoencephalitis (PAM).
Because the drugs that we presently have are not very effective at targeting the big when it is submerged in brain tissue.
According to the CDC most cases of these infections were reported in the South but recently there appears to be a pattern moving to the north, which suggest climate change could be the culprit as temperatures rise in water everywhere.
Where Naegleria Fowleri could be found:
Warm lakes, rivers, waters in pools or water park that has little chlorine, and anywhere where there is warm water.
Tap water contamination is possible, the bug can grow in water heaters and pipes as well.
There is no evidence of it spreading through the air, or by water droplets or vapor. The bug does not thrive in salt water.
The CDC says putting up warning boards is not accurate because the connection between infections happening or not is not clear, and neither do they know the amount of the amoeba in the water, so one must always assume it is present and the risk is there.
However, it is said that maybe large quantities of the bug resides in the sediment so swimmers should especially avoid stirring up the mud.
Naegleria Fowleri in warm water thrives and eats bacteria and organic debri.
"N. fowleri feeds on bacteria and organic debris in freshwater and exists in three life forms, the environmentally stable cyst form, the motile amoeboid-form referred to as the trophozoite form, and a flagellate form." - Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis: An Old Enemy Presenting New Challenges.
This is not the only threat of climate change that is getting very real. A man in India has become one the first to be infected by a fungal infection that is known to only infect plants. The infection causes Silver Leaf in plants and then they die.
The man when he went to the doctors in India they couldn't at first diagnose the infection because they had never seen it before, so a sample was sent to the World Health Organization that identified it as the plant fungus. It had infected the man's throat and caused a fungal growth in his throat. The man recovered with antibiotic treatment. However, the point is this had never happened before. How did the fungus jump the species barrier from plant to human? Doctors suspect Climate Change has something to do with it.
Air contamination is a very serious threat that can be amplified by Climate Change.
Boiling temperatures causing heatstrokes is not the only threat of Climate Change. Glaciers melting and the permafrost could unleash "time travelling pathogens that have been trapped for a millennia," says Dr. Giovvani Strona in an article on SciTech Daily.
"We found that invading pathogens could often survive, evolve and, in a few cases, become exceptionally persistent and dominant in the community, causing either substantial losses or changes in the number of living species. Our findings, therefore, suggest that unpredictable threats so far confined to science fiction could, in reality, pose serious risk as powerful drivers of ecological damage.”
Scientists and researchers are constantly working on being prepared for the consequences of Climate Change, there are computer simulations and new ways to investigate the environment like tracking of eDNA.
eDNA is organic genetic material that can be found everywhere an animal, human, or plant has been. Scientists say the approach of sampling eDNA in the environment can be easier to know what species live their whether animal, plants, or insects. Aircraft tracking of eDNA is also being improved.
Air contamination is one of the highest concerns, and this study reveals that eDNA was found in the atmosphere thousands of feet above surface level.
"The findings of the study are extraordinary. Through the use of their sampling probe and high throughput metagenomic sequencing, the researchers discovered the widespread presence of prokaryotic and eukaryotic eDNA in the atmosphere, reaching thousands of meters into the planetary boundary layer in the southeastern US. Notably, the study detected chicken, cow, and human eDNA at all altitudes flown, including an astonishing 8,500 feet above the ground." - News Medical and Life Sciences.

The Brain-Eating Amoeba, a deadly organism that poses a significant threat to human health, has garnered attention worldwide due to its devastating consequences. This article delves into the intricacies of this microscopic predator, shedding light on its characteristics, transmission, and prevention methods.
Tumblr media
Understanding the Brain-Eating Amoeba: The Brain-Eating Amoeba, scientifically known as Naegleria fowleri, is a single-celled organism found in warm freshwater environments such as lakes, hot springs, and poorly maintained swimming pools. Despite its name, Naegleria fowleri does not actively seek out the human brain. Rather, accidental entry occurs when contaminated water enters the nasal passages during activities like swimming, diving, or using untreated water for nasal irrigation.

Anyway. Bi and Mspec Lesbians aren't a hotly "debated" topic or even new to queer culture, it's just the newest thing that bullies who REALLY want to be homophobic and even racist use to justify harassing gay people they don't like.
It's the thinnest possible veneer of progressive language wrapped around TERF and reactionary rhetoric so that they can feel righteous for forming an angry mob against vulnerable targets. If you're gullible enough to fall for the newest wave of bigotry within the queer community, and turn on your allies because they're "confusing" or "invading your spaces," the SAME way they turned on bi/pan labels, trans people, xenogenders, neopronouns, and aroace people before this, then get lost.
#No patience. Wither and rot.#These motherfuckers dogpiled the legend who leaked the no fly list because it identified as the wrong type of lesbian.#They will attack the people doing DIRECT ACTION over dumbfuck label discourse. Deeply unserious people.#Embarrassing to think that there are rubes out there who keep falling for this#For ALL our sakes I hope this is literally their first rodeos and they really haven't fallen for this bullshit twice.#But unfortunately I'm too old to be that hopeful.#I didn't get to see the big ''public block list'' made for us dirty queers who support or are bi/mspec lesbians but I hope I was on it#If a man is best judged by his enemies then exclusionists who echo terf rhetoric are the ones I WANT to have.#And ''public lesbian block list'' is in quotes because if you REALLY thought that such a thing wasn't a ''GO HARASS THESE PEOPLE'' charter-#--then you have a black mold where your brain used to be and it's rapidly eating into the bathroom tile you call a skull#Unironically you should not have a platform if you are THAT stupid or malicious to think it was anything BUT a harassment charter#I hope they're ashamed.#Context for those unaware: a flesh-eating amoeba created a public blocklist for people who supported bi lesbians#Minors and extremely small creators without big platforms were on that list#People got harassed but the most namely was Lockandkeyhyena who had people raiding his server with racial slurs and death threats.#I hope everyone involved sees who their ''allies'' are when they spread that sentiment.#A bunch of people ACTUALLY 'invading someone's space' to post the n-word and suicidebait.#THAT is who you appeal to. Sit with that.

Brain-eating Amoeba kills man
Brain-eating Amoeba kills man
A “brain-eating amoeba” has caused the death of a South Korean man in his 50s, says a news agency adding that the man had just returned from Thailand on Dec. 10, after a four-month stay there and might have caught the disease while swimming or being in close contact with another person who contracted the amoeba. The authorities have since then urged people not to swim in the areas where the…
