Day 14 - Can't go Home

Finola Jones' situation is interesting.

She had found out the secret that MI6 and the CIA were hiding; and she had been so close to exposing that lie. But before she could, she realised someone must have ratted her out, and she escaped here – in an alternate time. Here, she no longer worked for MI6, but rather Influx, and she thought that to be her advantage – a chance to see a reality, one that could still happen in her lifetime, and both expose the weaknesses of the other side, and see if it was still possible to expose the plan that would shatter the world as humanity knew it.

Months went by, and Finola had finally collected the final piece of information that would be pivotal in the exposing the cataclysmic plan without being stopped.

But when she returned, through a secret back door that neither the CIA nor MI6 knew, she returned to a world that she was hoping she never had to experience.

First, she found out, it was her father. She of course knew that the bastard worked for Influx, but she was willing to forgive that as she was using this link to find out the true connection between her boss, and Ash. Once her role in the attempted leak was recognised, he was taken back to Influx, presumed to have helped her, and gruesomely murdered. His body was later found in his apartment.

Next, it was her sister. She knew MI6 was tapping the phones, and therefore knew that her sister was oblivious to her plan. But she guessed it wouldn’t do well for Jones’ other daughter to live.

And then, it was Bryan. Finola knew that there was something that he and Maddox were keeping from her, but Bryan hadn’t given her any other reasons to distrust him, and he was instrumental in keeping her father alive. After she had disappeared, he was taken in the middle of the night, his mind messed with, and then whisked away into the darkest corners, no doubt to be another person to experiment the wonders of Debris on.

Finola couldn’t go home – she no longer had one. Both in her birth time, and here, she was needed to be dead. Perhaps she should do it herself. Perhaps she shouldn’t make it easy on them. She had already set the plan in motion; her part was done. She grabbed her gun, putting it to her head. Finger etching to the trigger.

Whether she was going to do it or not would forever remain a mystery, for just then, whether by a curse or miracle, the Debris warped her back to the alternate time.

“I propose we keep her on this particular Debris permanently. It has proven helpful in anticipating the attacks on her plan. And is she none the wiser?” The man behind the screen smiled. It wasn’t Finola’s plan that was succeeding – it was his.

Top 5 jonathan characters ✨

Since you’re my Tucker bestie and you’ve seen most of his roles, I’m going to go into 5 more obscure characters just for you :3

1. Matthew (100 Girls)

This is the only romcom he’s done but it’s actually in my top 3 of the genre. The jokes are a little dated at this point but it’s like a nostalgia flick for me. It’s from the American Pie era of comedy movies but at least this one had some intelligent writing. His character was actually very respectful towards women, and that was so refreshing to watch for the type of movie it was. I also loved the scenes of him in drag because he makes a very pretty girl (and a convincing one too). A lot of times, when male actors pretend to be women they tend to play up the “bimbo” stereotype, but his character actually acted like a regular girl. It’s just a nice mood booster and I watch it like once a month.

2. Heck Prigusivac (Love Comes to the Executioner)

Jonathan has such good comedic timing, and some of the lines are so memorable to me. I love the ridiculous story, and the absurdist humor especially when he’s in scenes with Jeremy Renner, who plays his brother on death row. They just don’t make movies like this anymore (and good luck finding it anywhere).

Heck’s mother: What did Chick ever do to deserve this?

Heck: It’s called “multiple homicide”.

It’s on par with Hannibal jokes for me.

3. Boon (Justified)

I love him for the hair alone. Where can I find me a stalker cowboy with a bowl cut?

4. Shane Loakin (Meskada)

Plot? Who cares. The ending? One of the worst I’ve ever seen. Does he look insanely hot and I love his character? Yes and yes.

5. Bryan Beneventi (Debris)

Texan, only child, wears a necklace with a wolf insignia — GIVE ME MORE! At least we got one season, and some good whump (seizures 🤤). Some of the episodes were so awesome like the parallel universe ones, and I seriously got chills at times. So much potential but NBC just has to cancel anything good so it sucks we’ll never know how the debris damaged his body and what the injections are for (& the sex pollen fics are hot af).

I haven’t watched a ton of new shows lately, mostly rewatching older favorites or watching new-to-me-but-not-new-this-year foreign tv shows. But I will put a few below (I liked the main couple in the foreign shows) and some of my older ships after that! 😊

Foreign TV shows (I don’t often find a lot of fanfic/ fan art for foreign TV shows comparatively but I loved these series):

Debris s01e11: A group of scientists find a lady, Mariel, who keeps repeating Bryan’s name. She is affected by the extraterrestrial piece, Debris, and has Bryan’s memories. When they bring her back to the lab, Bryan tries to find out how she knows him. She (the debris) touches him and puts him in a catatonic dreamlike state where he relives his traumatic past.

For some reason I forgot to post this here lol. Replaying CODWWII and rewatching Kingdom last year did something to my brain chemistry...

Zussman came in my mind casually said "hey remember my twin from another universe Jay Kulina? Don't you miss him too?"

Next thing I knew I ended up watching a lot of series/movies Tucker was in.

“You know, you’re a sorry excuse for father.” Finola looked up, disgusted at what her father had gotten involved in.“Finola, this isn’t personal.”

“Right, because it never has been, has it?”

“Oh, for heaven’s sake.” She heard someone else speak and barge her father out of the way, placing his hands on either side of the chair that she was quite firmly tied to.

“All we want to know is where you’ve been stockpiling the Debris.”

“What stockpile?” Finola asked, trying to keep a smile from forming on her face. They only knew about the one stockpile.

The woman threw a punch, before George grabbed her, stopping the fist in mid-air.

“Get your hands off me.” She pushed George off her; “You had more than enough time to find it. Now it’s my turn…” She turned around, facing off once again with the MI6 agent.

“Last chance, or trust me, you’ll be begging me for death, and I will not grant it.”

“Do your worst.”

“Sit back, and relax, Finola Jones.” She said, and then everything went dark.

“All we want to know is where you’re stockpiling the Debris.”

“What stockpile?” A punch thrown; a knife traced down her chest. The woman was not lying when she said death would be welcomed by her.

Everything went dark once again.

“All we want to know is…”

“…where you’re stockpiling the Debris?” Finola finished the sentence, certain she knew that was how the sentence was supposed to end.

Her chest felt like it was planning to explode, and her face felt numb, and yet she took a look down, nothing seemed to be too out of the ordinary other than the woman towering over her, babbling on about the Debris.

“Ah, so you do remember?”

“Remember what?”

“You finished my sentence, why?”

“Because I was certain that was how it was going to end. It’s like… I’d talked to you before.” Finola told her, before doubling down in pain.

“Interesting, you still feel that?” The woman got close, and placed her hand on Finola’s cheek, directly in the spot that was causing her the most hurt.

She pulled away to see the woman smile and turn towards her father.

“You underestimated the power of this piece,” she told George, “it seems your daughter here, can feel everything from the last couple of loops.”

“Last loops? Finola asked, scared to know what exactly was meant by that, although being around the Debris for so long, she had a sneaking feeling she knew exactly what was going on…

“Finola, my dear. You’ve been a pain to us all the last couple of days. Now, for you this is the same day, but for us, time is linear. But it does seem that everything we’ve thrown at you, it’s sticking. It’s… fascinating. It’s like, your mind refreshes, but your body retains everything that happened to you.”

Everything that happened. How many times had she talked to this mystery woman as her father stood and watched?

“This is much better than I could have imagined. You might want to tell me before you forget this part too – there’s only so much a human body can handle…”
