I'm not making this an actual fic (probably), but wanted to write out some stuff for splatoon/bloodborne AU anyway so text post it is. Will not be terribly lore compliant.

Shiver is a (human) hunter who had been using a chikage until she found the boom hammer, and fell in love with its explosive swings. She still goes back to her old weapon sometimes, just to keep things fresh. Wields her weapons in the opposite hands (gun right, melee left).

Frye was human, also a hunter, until she got afflicted with ashen blood-- which eventually caused her to turn into a blood starved beast. She pulled the skin off her own chest/back during the transformation in an attempt to get the uncomfortable feeling of the affliction to stop (didn't work, though it's where her "veil" is from). After this she kept to herself, generally avoiding other beasts and humans. Is always hungry, which is something that didn't change much from when she was human.

The two used to be hunting partners, and were very close. They shared a small house before Frye became a beast; she left during the change so she wouldn't hurt her partner. Shiver devoted more of herself to the hunt afterwards; her left eye started showing signs of blood-drunkenness, so now she always keeps it covered.

Despite Frye's attempts to stay hidden, Shiver ran into her on a hunt anyway. Though she doesn't bear much, if any, resemblance to her old human self, the bracelet she always wore (a now slightly dirtier yellow/purple cord with a little gold squid hanging off it) was still around her wrist. Shiver (absolutely did not) started crying when she noticed it and dropped her weapons (probably almost died before Frye also recognized her).

Now Frye follows her around, helping her on the occasion she goes hunting and mooching for blood cocktails (Shiver usually complains about the price). They're looking for somewhere safe to stay where the locals won't attack either of them Frye in her current state. Shiver heard a rumor about an old, burnt and forgotten town-- a home to beasts-- that they might be able to rest at...

simon the harrowed watching simon riley degrade further into insanity and when hunter gary sanderson shows up in the nightmare he warns him to watch out for a skull masked hunter annihilating anyone who gets near him with a beasthunter saif

warnings of “in another lifetime maybe he could have been your ally…but i doubt someone as far gone as he is can be reasoned with anymore” doesn’t stop sanderson from trying; he didn’t get the nickname roach for giving up easily

even as riley tries to obliterate him with the deadly precision of a practiced hunter coupled with the unhinged blood lust of a hunter intoxicated by the hunt sanderson keeps fighting back until he has riley flat on his back, his threaded cane pressed down tight on riley's throat to keep him still, looking into the covered eyes of the unhinged man that he knows can still see him, quietly reminding him of the hunt he abandoned before he gave in to his clear grief and agony; telling him they can take on ludwig together, take the research hall and the astral clocktower together, free the poor wizened child from his suffering together, if only riley would come back to himself, remember who he is and his purpose as a hunter; they could transcend the hunt together, gain true insight together, if only riley would remember who he was and could still be

I'm a really big fan of the way demons were, for some time, depicted as being covered in beastly faces. Especially on their torso. Thinking up a tattoo in that style. Would you know of a collection of examples? Or some particularly interesting sources? Trying to collect them for inspiration.

More related to this post where I argue that Andy and Quynh aren't accurately assessing blame for what happened, since they're caught up in a trauma response. Distorted concepts of blame (of self and others) is literally part of the diagnostic criteria for PTSD!

Inside the world of the story, what the mob did to Andy and Quynh was an act of anti-immortal hatred and torture. I think it is a pretty clear metaphor for a hate crime against a gay couple as well, but even if we don't read it that way, they were both extremely traumatized.

Andy responds to the shattering experience with self-blame:

"Feeling out of control during a traumatic event may evoke behavioral self-blame (BSB) to avoid feeling helpless following trauma by restoring one’s sense of control. BSB is a common, persistent, and treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress symptom" [source is an NIH study]

She would literally rather think of herself as a Bad Guy (a failure, a betrayer) than helpless to save the people she loves. Which is part of why Booker's death comes before her finally realizing and telling Quynh "I thought it was my job to save you," but you have to decide who you want to be. The similar feeling of helplessness watching Booker die and seeing Quynh dragged away knocked something loose for her IMO.

And, for her part, Quynh seeks control by locating blame. If she was wronged by her beloved--if it was some grand romantic betrayal--then that's AWFUL. But it also feels more meaningful, more like something within her control. She can be angry and focus herself on the betrayal, on the Bad Guy, etc. (And possibly project her own feelings of self-blame on to Andy). Instead of experience the horror and pain of the fact that they were both so helpless.

Literally neither of them are accurate judges of what happened and what meaning should be made of it for almost all of TOG2. It's only when Andy says her lines about everyone having to decide for themselves who they are that there's a shift. Though they probably both still have a lot of feelings to work through and persistent warped perceptions to wrestle with. Especially since Andy is probably blaming herself for what Discord did in taking Nile, Joe, and Nicky.

i read the manga+rising but the manga version of zeo didnt really stand out to me so im gonna talk about the anime version of him only.

The season hes in, v force, is notoriously fucking boring (i knew this before watching v force even though i stayed out of any info abt bsb to avoid spoilers AND i still knew, imagine that) its like an entire season of filler but the character who stands out the most is Zeo obviously. ozuma/ozma is there too but eh. standing out in v force isnt saying much considering its not really intresting but that doesnt mean i hate him. hes .. neat but i dont think about him a lot.

in the anime when they first started hinting at something being off with zeo (and learning who his father is) my IMMIDIATE guess was oh this guys some kind of lab experiment, ailen or a robot and i was right lol. i mean considering his fathers job it isnt hard to predict but it is a kids show🤷

what i thought the most in the finale fight was okay, so he wants to be human, my boy yearns for the flesh, but like.. why? i know he has zagarts dead sons memories inside of him but if hes human enough to live and not notice he was a robot whats so bad about being a machine??? (robot propoganda lmfao) . he talks like a human feels like a human walks like a human feels like a human.. the gang™️ points this out too. i think there shouldve been more physical indicators to this guy straight up being a machine.. so many cool shit u can do with a ROBOT BLADER HELLOOOO ... ??? like do u have any problem in ur system or did u just not notice?? also how long has he been a robot? i feel like i needed more explanation on the dead son thing. yall couldnt take all those pointless boring episodes of those npc dudes trying to steal the sacred beasts and give it to zeo's backstory? what happened to this child? how long has he been a robot? when how which who which colour how many??2?2? was the original child also mint haired lmao? -also his hair colour is rll nice ^^

2013 Napa Valley A Cappella Extravaganza — VoicePlay live performances

In January 2013, VoicePlay were the professional headliners to a roster of collegiate and high school a cappella groups at the 8th annual Napa Valley A Cappella Extravaganza. The event is a yearly fundraiser for Napa High School's choral program, hosted by their Vocal Music Workshop a cappella ensemble. Tony was, in fact, the first one from this configuration of VoicePlay to leave. Not to go solo, though. He wanted to be home with his family and focus on growing PattyCake.

alright so as i mentioned i was listening to some warrior cats videos (specifically moonkitti) and that kinda got me just like, thinking about things. and this one thing i mostly just thought about bc well, of course as i'm warrior cats-ifying kai i'm thinking about "hey what would a bsb warrior cats au be like" and this kind of came up in my brain somehow. and i mean i guess this might be a kind of obvious statement i wouldn't know since i have like half the fandom blocked but. actually i don't know how to start this so i'm just gonna jump right into it.

kai and max have one very specific thing in common and it's that they were, as one might put it, nepotism hires, and their not-bba teammates hate them for it. the weird thing here is that neither of these cases are ever actually resolved, the ppb team's distaste for max just kind of Goes Away at some point, and neo-borg as a team has the singular defining trait of being edgy in place of any kind of arc or story.

i'm starting off with max because he's the one i thought about first, and honestly the thing with him is kinda like. after the ppb team seemed to be on decent terms with the main gang by the end of the first season it's definitely like "oh okay so that didn't apply to max apparently", though i think it's pretty safe to say that rick Also being there played a part in it. overall the ppb in g-rev is kind of odd honestly, like i just kind of wonder if something happened during their inexplicable (atleast in-universe) absence during v-force seeing as how one of their members is out due to a broken leg and two other members look completely different. i kind of forgot where i was going here ngl which is why this post is only partially about them, just know i was thinking about this because of the warrior cats au and well. getting mad that a pair of Outsiders TM got a position and you didn't is an extremely warrior cats thing to do. i saw a post the other day about various football-themed names being valid do you think steve would have one of those. next paragraph

anyway would you look at that! the day i finally talk about the fandom-beloved white boys as a whole! speaking of that i'm just gonna start this by saying that like. i swear to god the whole dynamic the fandom gives them was bought from a five below. and that's all i'm saying on their dynamics with anyone besides kai.

moving onto the actual reason i'm talking about neo-borg, i really like, cannot stress enough that kai is Not friends with them or even close. in an ideal world he would have some kind of comradery with yuriy but we do not live in an ideal world, or else people would talk about characters other than neo-borg. we actually get a pretty good idea of the dynamic in s1, and aside from not having someone ordering them around it's basically the same in g-rev. the dynamic in question is that there is a noticeable rift between kai and the others, who only really tolerate him because they have to. kai, meanwhile, doesn't actively dislike them but also doesn't care to try to make things better. i could go on a LOT about what the dynamic could have been, and infact i actually have before so go read that post.

i don't have a conclusion for this. 100% willing to elaborate on the warrior cats au btw
