hey uh i. saw your post on transandrophobia and. wanted to ask you about your version about what the man who coined that term was into because uh. every other source has been less than trustworthy.

of course, i couldn't possibly require someone to explain something to me because I'm too afraid to look into it myself so if itd be too much of a bother then i apologize.

Well it's not really 'my version' because I don't actually know or speak to Saint 🤷‍♂️

But I did investigate the source of the claims and:

Saint was talking about omegaverse and used the shorthand a/b/o to refer to the au genre without the slashes. Which unfortunately bears a striking resemblence to an anti-aboriginal slur used in Australia. Which unfortunately Saint was resistant initially when an aboriginal person protested the use of the term. The context was clear that Saint was not even talking about Australian race politics whatsoever, he was talking about how some trans mascs find omegaverse fics to be very fetishizing and triggering, and words can be spelled the same and mean entirely different things. Said blogger was not satisfied and began saying that Saint was anti-indigenous and specifically anti-black since many aboriginal people view themselves as and call themselves black.

Two black bloggers caught wind of the callout and started harassing Saint, block-dodging when he blocked them for being annoying, sending anons and dms and being increasingly aggressive on his posts. These bloggers are notorious for denying POC their identities and they did call him white several times before being corrected that he is, in fact, not white. At some point he posted saying Biden's Juneteenth announcement was too little too late and an empty gesture (which I agree btw as a black man myself, literally I don't even get paid holiday pay for it and my job is proceeding as normal so what did it actually accomplish besides lip service and more annoying bank holidays???) and they started accusing him of speaking over black people and when he blocked them *again* for that it was that he won't listen to black people.

Aka tumblr's worst whisper down the lane session because now he's dubbed as a 'violently antiblack racist' when what he did was... use an acronym that also can be a slur if the context isn't 100% clear.

In the midst of all this the original blogger that took issue with him also found his password-protected nsfw roleplay blog where he was engaging in kink-heavy roleplay with a trans woman partner. The kinks were misgendering, forced masc, cnc, and detransition with the trans woman receiving. According to a later explanation by Saint, it was *her kink* that he was performing for her, and he stopped long before being "found out" because it was becoming uncomfortable for him to continue.

In any case, it was an example of someone screenshotting someone else's private, consensual sex life that they shouldn't have seen in the first place let alone put in front of a huge audience (with minors included) in the format of a callout. Whether or not you agree with his sexual preferences is not up for debate here: the heart of the matter is that people are mad that he had ultimately consensual sex with his partner because it's not the kind of sex they think people should be having. In other words it's this meme:

Except instead of Jesus it's 'judgemental assholes on the internet digging through your private life looking for something to be mad at you about'.

Lastly there's new discourse floating around that he 'admitted to being a terf' which is actually kind of hilarious because uh, no he didn't. And also a result of tumblr's worst whisper down the lane session because that's an [untrue] accusation about a DIFFERENT trans guy who once said that he discovered the feminist spaces he occupied as a minor prior to finding out he was trans were not trans friendly, and he left those spaces once he found out, but it gave him insight to how terfs become radicalized because the first instance of the word 'trans' in their discourse was also the only red flag he got before he got out. So... it's not even about Saint at all even though people are saying it's him, and the guy it IS about is also being wildly misrepresented.

Again, that's not 'my version' that's 'I reviewed the facts of the case and the verdict is: it's all very stupid'. I did at one point ask for further proof of any of this than what I could find and basically just got 'source: trust me it really happened' so 🤷‍♂️

Come on folks. I'm black. Why would I have anything to do with a guy who is *actually* anti-black?

"Your fics suck.”

Today I received anon hate. It’s not the first time, nor will it be the last, and it was far from the most creative insult I’d ever read. Someone within one of my fandoms had taken issue with another anonymous comment I reposted several months ago, and decided today was the day to punish me for it. Among the multiple asks I received from them, one particular message got under my skin more than it should’ve: 

“And your fics suck btw, no one cares about your ships.” 

Like I said, it’s far from the most creative insult out there. As someone with plenty of writing accolades under my belt and a thriving career in the industry, it also did little to diminish my confidence in my abilities. What it did do, though, was have me strongly reconsider posting an update on one of my fics today. 

I thought twice.

My first thought was ‘oh, maybe my fics do suck.’ Maybe these silly little fics I write about my crackships to wind down at the end of a long work day aren’t half as good as the work I get paid for. In fact, they definitely aren’t. I’m doing it in downtime, for FREE, usually drunk or half-asleep. I have an embarrassing tendency to do my final proof-read at 4am, before hitting publish on Ao3, and nearly always make a mental note to go back and check later, which never actually happens. So, maybe this random anonymous user, who obviously can’t stand me and is trying to make me feel bad, actually has a point. Maybe my fics suck, and maybe nobody cares about them. Maybe, like I joked about in my response to that particular ask, there’s no point sharing them after all. 

It’s not like I’m getting paid for this sh*t, right? 

My second thought was of a particular user who once reached out anonymously to thank me for my fics. They’d been having a particularly rough time lately and looked forward to my regular updates because there weren’t many good fics out there for their favourite pairing. But they asked me not to respond to the ask, so instead I wrote another fic for them. 

They cared about my ship.

That then reminded me of another user, who sent me a beautiful string of messages over the holidays recently, to let me know that like many of us, they’d been struggling a lot with the death of a person who’d meant a great deal to us within the fandom. For them, my fics had become something they now revisited often. Something that helped them process their emotions, and feel more connected with people who understood their grief better than their friends or family could. They are far from the first person to have reached out to me with a similar sentiment, and they weren’t the last. In fact, I’ve lost track of the number of people who’ve gotten in touch with me by way of comment thread, tumblr ask or direct message in the last couple of years to thank me, because that silly little fic I once wrote at 3am about a stupid crackship nobody cares about got them through some troubling times and is their favourite fic now. They’ve reread it more times than I ever bothered to proof the damn thing prior to publishing. They have questions about it that I never bothered to come up with answers to!

I’m not writing this post because I care about that particular anon anymore. I’m writing it because “your fics suck” is a horrible message to receive, and it occurred to me that for someone starting out it could prove enough to discourage them from ever writing enough to get better. So, if anyone is reading this and contemplating whether or not to post that sh*tty one-shot, or that piece of art with dodgy line-work that you’re secretly quite proud of because you’ve never managed to capture your favourite actor’s face that well before, I’d like to urge you to think twice before posting.

Once, for the bitter, hateful asshole who will take great delight in letting you know how much you suck.

Then twice, for the person whose day ends up being just that little bit brighter for having viewed your work.

My MMA Instructor is Wild

So I've mentioned my martial arts in passing on here, but I've decided that I NEED to tell tumblr about the Master of my dojo because he is equally as confusing as he is amazing.

Master T is basically the CEO of my specific dojo. The Master is in charge of all of the other instructors, events, belt orders, etc. He is only under the guidance of Grand Master H who is the founder alongside his wife.

It is important to me that you know what Master T looks like. Master T is TALL. He is an extremely tall, skinny, white man who looks to be in about his late forties or fifties. He does not look like he has any muscle. You probably wouldn't be able to tell he was a fourth degree blackbelt unless you saw him in uniform.

I didnt have much interaction with Master T prior to pandemic. The days he taught and the days I attended just never corresponded. After we got locked into quarantine, he started doing zoom classes and I finally got to learn more about him. Let me tell you, this man is a BLESSING. He is always super accommodating, and when students were having trouble getting supplies for home practice, he pitched in cash and sent links to good pads. When I thought I was going to need to drop half my classes due to money issues, he waived half the fee. He remembers each of his students and will ask me about how my college apps were going, when are you moving, etc. He is very sweet.

Aside from that though, he is also a bit of a goofball. He has this habit during instruction where he goes off on a story and drops vague, BOMBSHELL information about his life on us. No context whatsoever. I started compiling some of these tangents and a few other instances that I have decided to share with you. All of these are directly from my notes.

"The only time I ever tried to go all the way through with a side kick was that one time in the alley. I was anticipating I would also end up on the floor but the police showed up so I didn't have to."

"When I was a newer blackbelt I was taking these kids to an international tournament and we were walking down this hall to get to our room. This guy was walking towards me swinging his nunchucks like he was telling me that he was going to take me down. I told him I had kids behind me but he didn't stop so I figured I would put him to the floor so he wouldn't hurt anyone As I prepared to do the side kick he got caught off guard and was distracted. He ended up hitting himself in the head with the nunchucks and fell on the floor by himself. I just kind of walked around him and led the kids back to the room. It probably wasn't my best idea, but I was twenty one."

"I got put into a grab like that (both arms against body and held in air) when i went to boarding school in India. The other kid was a lot taller than me and he was holding me above a bank with an arm around my throat. I was in the boxing club but I didnt have the martial arts training you have, but I instinctively kicked behind me in his groin with my heel and he dropped me and I rolled down the bank and got away. He didnt mess with me again for 9 months. When he did it was with a knife but that's a different story."

Has a dog named Diesel. On one memorable occasion, Diesel was unhappy that he was teaching and was whining in the background. Diesel was bribed out of the room with treats by an unknown voice.

"Never break a board with a punch. It's possible, but don't. I once was talking to a blackbelt of 30 years, and he said he had never broken a board with a punch. I told him he probably could, and after egging him on, he did." *all of a sudden sheepish* "He broke the board, but he also broke his hand. His hand has never been the same. That was 10 years ago. So...don't."

Stopped mid sentence once because a stray cat was in his window staring him down. "I don't own a cat? Why are you here?"

Strongly implied that Mohammad Ali is a god on multiple occasions.

"I used to love breaking boards with ridge hand. That was my go-to break for years. Then one day, Grand Master H lit two boards on fire and held them up for me (he says this like it's no big deal btw). I broke the boards with ridge hand but it landed wrong and my hand and arm tingled for the next year and a half. Don't do that."

*working on Self Defense* "So I'm going to teach you how to do a trachea grab. This is for a life threatening situation. Kids at my boarding school used to do it all the time. It's super easy, let me show you." *procceds to accidentally choke himself* " Be careful practicing this because you might make yourself cough." *starts to hack his lungs out*

I love Master T and trying to piece together this disaster human who is somehow simultaneously competent.

Happy Tuesday to all you Kaylor/Gaylor blogs out there. I have just now seen a very long post on my dash that mentions me (though apparently tumblr’s notifications are glitchy again bc I wasn’t aware until I actually saw it 🤷‍♀️). And hello to the several new followers the post brought me...

However, though I don’t have much time, there are a couple of things I would like to say to our fandom at large.

The post I’m referencing takes malicious and quite specific aim at @taytaysbeard , who briefly responded to the post in the comments and has gone right on doing her thing while counseling people to calm down and to avoid blogs/posts which upset them (good advice).

In a nutshell, here’s my take: smear campaigns in all their various disguises are cowardly, manipulative, and almost always based in envy. Any attempt to appear reasonable, rational, and reliable is mere window-dressing. Their very purpose is to distort.

This one is no exception.

That there are several anti-TTB blogs bubbling up lately is not surprising given TTB’s relative prominence in our fandom. And I have no quibble with anyone’s rights of self-expression. Of course it’s fine if you don’t like TTB or agree with things she says.

My issues with the post in question are the following:

the overt attempt to pull others away from TTB is revealing

the aggressive marketing to new Kaylors as from someone who’s been around and active for a long time strikes me as disingenuous (I don’t know that blog - in its current form at least - and I’ve been here for years, so maybe they’ve been around but who knows)

the branding of TTB as a flagrant liar while offering literally zero proof is a giveaway that the post is a smear device rather than what it claims to be

including the comments section, there are several references to TTB showing up as some sort of Tasmanian Devil in DMs of any blogs who dare to cross her (This is ridiculous, and without receipts not worth anything at all.)

btw, just because someone is expressing anger towards you does not necessarily mean they are “attacking” you. Anger is an emotion. An attack is an action. They mean different things. (For example, to accuse someone of being a liar without providing proof is an example of an attack.)

Finally, I invite anyone who’s gotten this far to partake of a thought experiment: imagine that the following things are literally true in real life:

T&K do keep up to some degree with what we’re saying and thinking

T&K have authorized someone close to them to occasionally send us messages using an emoji alias as an identifier

What would that look like???

Hello there! I’m sorry for being so late with my response — I’ve been physically overwhelmed with stuff IRL. Also, thank you for asking. Yes, it’s much better now, and I got off easy (nothing work-related lost) but it was a close call.

Truthfully, I’ve been thinking about writing about it on my own, so your question happens to have excellent timing. No doubt some of it was spurred by the latest official illustration of Zhan Zheng Xi. 

I've seen quite a few people (on and off Tumblr) discuss the possibility of the picture itself being linked to Jian Yi's disappearance, so it's no wonder we ended up thinking about the earlier chapters. 

I have a few thoughts on the matter, but I'll try to be as brief here as possible here. Is Jian Yi's disappearance going to be tragic for Zhan Zheng Xi? 

In theory? Absolutely yes. 

Imagine someone you're seeing disappears one day without prior notice and keeps radio silence for years, only to appear one day at your doorstep and act like nothing truly happened. Or even worse, attempts to feed you an unlikely story of being stranded on an island after being kidnapped by a parent they allegedly never had. Imagine how you'd feel. Tricked? Yeah. Betrayed? Surely. Angry? Quite possibly. Kept in the dark and essentially swindled? Without a doubt. It's not a situation you'd take lightly, particularly if you had been romantically involved the said person. That's what they call "ghosting someone". What is Zhan Zheng Xi to think during Jian Yi's absence? In the best-case scenario that the latter decided to cut ties with him. In the worst-case scenario that he's come to physical harm. 

You see, there's a particular leitmotif going on for Zhanyi. XiXi has always taken it upon himself to be Jian Yi's knight in shining armour, the one who saves him from whatever trouble he gets into. During elementary school, XiXi would protect JY from the bullies. During middle school, he tried to protect him from Mo's gang and He Cheng's men. Failing to do so caused XiXi visible distress to the point where even Jian Yi noticed and commented on it. So being the shield that protects Jian Yi from harm is directly linked to ZZX's image of himself. His self-worth, if you will. Failing to do so would inevitably tell on his self-esteem even if ZZX won't show it to the outside world due to his stoic nature.

There's also a matter "emotional hurdles", something that thematically unites all the other characters in the manhua save for ZZX. JY, MGS, HT have faced traumatic events in their past which shaped them into who they are now. ZZX had none of that (yet). Perhaps OX plans to keep it that way, although it's also possible OX plans to have ZZX face personal hell later on. It's not too unthinkable, and I believe that's the reason why many people believe that JY's disappearance will be "tragic" — to fit in with the running subtheme.

Naturally, the initial chapters don't show us any of that simply because those take place three or four years after Jian Yi's disappearance. It figures the bulk of the emotional turmoil ZZX's must have gone through is well in the past. Time heals, as they say. By time JY comes back, ZZX has been living without him for years; deep inside he might have embraced the idea that he'll never see him again. That's why his reaction may seem a lot tamer than one could imagine.

Still, if you pay attention to their future interactions, it becomes clear that their bond took considerable damage. Within the present canon storyline, they have essentially admitted mutual feelings for each other and even shared a bed several times (nothing sexual of course). In other words, they do share a great deal of intimacy. In future-set issues, when they are attending the same college, XiXi appears to have reservations about as little as letting drunk JY lean on him. Naturally, a huge chunk of it could be attributed to the comedic nature of the episodes (OX needed to make it funny), but it’s still something to ponder on. 

Regarding the illustration OX posted -- I don't believe it hints at Jian Yi being presumed to be dead during his MIA period; I don't believe it's directly linked to JY at all for that matter. Had Jian Yi been presumed to be dead, you'd think ZZX would have shown a stronger reaction upon seeing him "alive", but that's not the case. Then again, OX may yet change it when we get to that point.

Lastly, if you recall, I did say that Jian Yi's disappearance is tragic "in theory". The reason why I say that resides in the very manner of OX's writing. If you peel away layers of slapstick comedy and occasional crude humour, you'd find that many things OX touches upon are no laughing matters. Absentee parents, alienation, peer pressure, social isolation, ostracism, street gangs, youth cruelty, dysfunctional families, criminal legacy, emotional abuse, neglect, being impoverished, having to deal with family debts, being threatened with prostitution, etc... You wouldn't be laughing at any of that had you been watching it on TV or reading in a newspaper. Many authors would find it to be an elephant in the room, yet more often than not OX doesn't address those issues directly. Instead, those get glossed over and covered up with situational comedy. While I absolutely appreciate the necessity of humour, I still believe there are topics out there making the light of which is simply unethical, regardless of comedic genre. Kidnapping someone for whatever reason and having to deal with someone's disappearance/loss is one such thing. That said, there's no guarantee that OX will make any of ZZX's internal struggle obvious and explicit. It might stay between the lines as something that we all know should be there — simply because we can put ourselves in ZZX's shoes. While I wouldn't want OX to play Jian Yi's kidnapping completely for the laughs, I still don't exclude a comedic outcome. 

Now, I truly wouldn't want to be making any grand guesses regarding HOW exactly it might transpire. It's peculiar that Jian Yi ostensibly didn't recognize the men who kidnapped him. What's so odd about it is that we know that Qiu and He Cheng are assigned to the duty of looking after Jian Yi. It's mostly Qiu who picks him up and drives around. Could that mean that things shifted and Qiu & Cheng are no longer trusted with his life or are absent for some reason? Or, perhaps, those men lied and, in fact, weren't working for Mr Jian after all? Instead, might they be the ones Mr Jian tried to protect his son from? It could truly be a fascinating plot-twist.

All in all, I'd say that the tragedy of Jian Yi's disappearance is something implicit. Whether OX would go into detail here is uncertain though; likewise, it's uncertain whether they would address the matter seriously. I would love to see ZZX go through something that would break his perpetual pokerface (as harsh as it might sound), but I also realize that's not everyone's cup of tea and may be completely irrelevant to OX's grand plans.

Life Update

So, a lot’s happened since my last actual blog post/writing/whatever [Jan. 11th] So, let’s recap:

- Got my first speeding ticket Jan 16th

- Immediately TOTALED my car the VERY next day (Jan. 17th) and spent probably a good month trying to get things sorted out/get a car rented/get a NEW car, etc. 

- In February: I saw that some coworkers were in a Facebook Group Chat complaining about me “being late” to work. Told my manager and head veterinarian about it and ofc neither did anything about it. A few weeks AFTER that, I “magically” get told that unless I have more availability due to “scheduling” that I was fired. Do keep in mind LITERALLY NO ONE talked to me about my schedule and IN FACT, I told one of the receptionists who works on the monthly schedule that in March I’d be able to work MORE hours during Spring Break so......wtf.....doesn’t add up. And if it usually doesn’t add up, it usually isn’t true. So I really truly feel I got canned because 1)I wasn’t part of the “girl’s club” and actively resented the notion of a girl’s club - “This isn’t high school, I just want to do MY job and my JOB does not require me to be best friends with your dumbass” and 2) The head veterinarian’s pet/favorite was involved in the group chat. Soooooo. Yeah, fuck that place. I worked 20 hours per week and STILL managed to get ALL my work done and the dumb hoes y’all hired off the street can’t seem to even get 2 out of 6 tasks done in 1 week and they “work” more hours than I did.....but they also sat on their asses and ordered Jeffery Starr makeup and Shawn Dawson makeup or whatever the fuck their names are while animals literally went HOURS without water. I know this because I saw it and purposefully did not handle the situation because I’m not the ONLY fucking person who works there; it’s not SOLELY my job to do water checks and they sat on their asses for hours so I was literally trying to give them a chance to redeem themselves; but no, doggo went without water for hours until I refilled the bowl. UGH! And I had to force myself to NOT immediately take care of the problem and it was HARD because the dog didn’t deserve it and it wouldn’t have taken but maybe a minute to take care of. It was just the simple principle of it - I’m working at MY job and y’all should be too but you’re not. I hated that place. I hated my coworkers - bunch of lazy idiots straight up off the fucking street without so much as a goddamn DRUG TEST. No drug test. No BACKGROUND check. No prior animal care experience needed. BULLSHIT! Test them! TEST TEST TEST LITERALLY EVERYONE who walks in and tries to apply because *ahem* THE HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF THE ANIMALS IS WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT THIS CLINIC AND IF YOU CANNOT AND WILL NOT INSURE THAT THE PEOPLE *YOU* EMPLOY ARE TRUSTWORTHY AND DRUG-FREE BY DOING A SIMPLE FUCKING CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK AND A DRUG TEST THEN YOU DO NOT HAVE *ANY* RIGHT TO BE IN BUSINESS! 

Annnyway. Randos off the fucking street who couldn’t tell you the ass end of a dog from the front end of a dog and who primarily worked ONLY in retail are more important than having an employee who: 1) fucking works her shift and stays until every single last thing is done, 2) was an employee with the CITY and worked closely with Animal Control/Public Safety AS a kennel attendant for 2 full fucking years and did that job pretty much by herself, 3) CAN PASS a drug test AND background check, and 4) went to school to learn if she can improve in anyway so that the care that she provides for the animals is the ABSOLUTE best it can be without verging into super technical/doctoral territory. Yeeeep. Sounds like a GREAT plan, right? Hire AND KEEP complete fucking morons who CAN’T EVEN READ A LABEL ON A BOTTLE TO MAKE SURE THEY DON’T CREATE MOTHERFUCKING CHLORINE GAS AND KILL EVERY LAST LIVING THING IN THE DAMN BUILDING ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU WANT TO USE A METRIC FUCKTON OF CHEMICALS AND BLEACH TOGETHER BECAUSE, AGAIN, YOU DON’T READ THE FUCKING LABEL TO KNOW THAT ONLY 1/8TH OF A FUCKING CUP OF TOP PERFORMANCE PLUS 1 GALLON OF WATER IS ENOUGH TO BE AN EFFECTIVE CLEANING SOLUTION over someone who actually knows their shit. What could possibly go wrong--oh, wait, literally fucking everything. Not like y’all had a PARVO dog in recently and the floor of the room the PARVO dog was in has NOT been deep cleaned with parvocide. Oh wait, that’s TOTALLY THE CASE BECAUSE LAZY BITCHES DON’T CLEAN THEIR FLOOR EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE TO DO WEEKLY FLOOR DEEP-CLEANINGS AND SCRRRUUUUBBBB THE EVER LIVING FUCK OUT OF THE FLOOR USING KENNEL-SOL [which, btw, is effective against *legasp!* FUCKING PARVO!]. Did I mention that they had an older dog literally up and die in the boarding department for no known reason? Well, they sure as fuck did and that dog did NOT get a pre-boarding examination as it “wasn’t due for one” because “yearly exams” are enough. Um, NAH! Unless that dog was seen within the past WEEK, you examine the FUCK outta it! AND GET A GODDAMN FECAL TOO BECAUSE I’M TIRED OF HAVING DOGS COME IN AND BE SHITTING THEIR BRAINS OUT BECAUSE THEY HAVE A FUCKING PARASITE. They had no idea how that dog died, but it was noted that the dog was not eating her food throughout her time there. And noooobody thought “hmm, maybe we should get her checked out? it’s probably just her bad teeth, but maybe we should at least check....maybe ask the owner if we can do some bloodwork (which should’ve been done beforehand/done in a pre-boarding exam)?” Nah, they were like “Oooh, it’s friday; you got food and water, you’ll be fine. I’m outtie at 6pm whether there’s a shitton of other things to do or not.” then came back Saturday morning to find her dead in her fucking kennel.

Not my clinic, not my problem anymore. 

Seriously hated that place.

But now, I have an opportunity to work for the city again as a kennel attendant while going to school. Considering my knowledge/education and background and the fact that I literally did the job once before and can do it again and when I did leave, I left on good terms; there shouldn’t be any reason why I’m not hired on. If I do get hired, I’d be making $12 verses the $10.50 bullshit this clinic was paying me and have the title of “city employee” again, so a little bit of a pride-booster there. I’ll be working by myself, which I prefer anyways because I know I can rely on myself to get shit done and, if for some reason shit doesn’t get done, I have only one person to blame - myself. It’ll be hard juggling that and school, but I think I can do it.

Now, in regards to weight loss.....I’ve plateaued and may have even gained a bit. I get being stressed and not making good food choices and skipping the workouts and all; like, the “excuses” make sense but....I’m not done losing weight. I’m not where I want to be. I’m definitely better than where I was, and while that’s great, I still got more to do. Maybe with this new kennel job, I’ll be forced to be more active [potentially working 25 hours per week instead of just 20]. I’ll probably post an updated weight-loss/management plan in a bit. 

But yeah, that’s pretty much the recap. Made amends with my best friend too, she (thankfully) dumped her loser boyfriend that I had issues with and we were able to talk things out/I was able to tell her what my issues were with him and she was able to ACTUALLY hear me out instead of having him try to twist and control and manipulate things. I’m thankful she’s away from that and we can get back to being us. She doesn’t know I’ve lost weight. She doesn’t know about my weight loss goals or plans or anything like that, so it’ll be interesting to see if she comments at all [and with a 15-20 pound weight loss since we last saw each other, I’d really hope that there are some obvious improvements]

1. What episode/season of Supernatural was the first that you watched alongside the fandom on Tumblr? It has to be 11x11 Into the Mystic, because i joined tumblr after 11x10 aired. The Devil in the Details made me fall for this show again, so for the first time I was in desperate need for more fandom content. 

2. What’s your favourite Supernatural season? What’s your least fav.? Why? Season 13? :) Ok, probably season 12. I love how they changed it up and mirrors became broken mirrors and the overall feeling of hope for the light at the end of the tunnel took over. (I loved the second half of season 11 as well, especially the fact that Amara didn’t die, but the whole God business is just kinda whatever for me) I love(d) seasons 4/5, but  they’re extremely depressing. They had this caged feel, no hopeful or positive option or exit, no room to breathe, like buried alive. So, for that reason i can’t say they’re my favourite. I don’t really want to rewatch that time period, no matter how great the episodes are.

Least favourite? Season 6. It had too many things scattered all over the place and they ended up breaking viewers’ hearts. The audience was deceived the same way Dean was, we only had one episode from Cas’s point of view and by the end of it i just felt betrayed. (betrayed enough to take a break from watching it in season 7, which wasn’t actually a bad season)

3. When did you start shipping Dean/Cas? Any particular moment/aspect of the story that made you do it? If you had the power, how would you choose to canonize it? It happened without me noticing it, the same way they fell in love. I was the general audience, without really caring what kind of relationship they have, but loving their scenes together. I actually think it was some crack video on YouTube that made me see it clearly (i used to watch them before joining tumblr, s 10-11 hiatus). I can’t pinpoint the moment, i only know i had no idea what shipping is prior to season 11 and when i found out i just knew i’d always shipped them and that’s why i had the urge to hide my face during 8x07 for example.

How would i make it textual (cause they kinda are canon)? I don’t think i have a preference. They have so much history that it could work in different ways. I want them to use words though. Even if it’s a confession to someone else, i want it to be clearly spelled out for the audience before they crash their mouths together.

4. For Supernatural, if you write fic./make art (or both), what’s something that you’ve created that you wished more people would read/see? If you don’t write fic./make art, what’s a fic./art piece that you feel deserves more attention?  I’ve only written a few codas for Supernatural. And then there’s Shading Identity, which is a cross-over with Numb3rs and doesn’t have a lot of activity. It’s not half bad, but i haven’t updated since August. (Go someone leave me a comment and i’ll scribble the next chapter! :))  As of recommendations i made a post a while ago, should probably make another soonish though.

5. Which Supernatural character are you most like and why? Which character is your favourite and why? If i’m very honest, then probably Sam. I hide my feelings very well and I don’t talk about them. At the same time i’m a bit like Dean as well, cause i tend to suppress myself and do what’s expected of me. Obviously i can be like Cas too, with the feeling as if you don’t really belong. A bit of everyone really. Maybe that’s why i don’t have a favourite either. (though after 13x03 i’d go for Jody, she truly is pretty amazing. good people :))

6. What’s a nightmare that you had that you can never forget? What happened in it that made you so afraid? So, i was sleeping over at my friend’s place. I knew she had problems with nightmares (the classic demon sitting on your chest trying to take over thing) and ghosts stay close to her (i have no idea how real it is, but that’s what she’s told me). Ok, we were sleeping in the same bed, at some point i woke up and i saw her nightmare. This dark entity that had no interest in me and tried to get to her, but since i was in the way it couldn’t. I wasn’t really sure what to make of it in the morning, it seemed so real.  About half a year later i had a nightmare about her, how she was convinced that a little girl was possessed and wanted to kill her. I woke up in cold sweat. I wrote to her, asking if she was okay cause i’d had a dream about her (i quite often write to people when i’ve had a vivid dream about them). And she had had a nightmare the same night, about a girl with black holes as her eyes. But no, i haven’t had true nightmares of my own.

7. What’s an embarrassing thing that happened to you that you find hilarious looking back on? Or alternatively, what’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you, regardless of whether it’s hilarious now or not? I changed schools before 10th grade, didn’t know anyone, had only seen my classmates once and i don’t have a good memory for faces. We were divided in groups for English classes and so there were several room numbers for them in the time plan. I was late, didn’t know which room to go to, took a guess and opened a door. No one really said anything so i figured it was the right one, started to take a seat, take out my things when someone finally said: “You do know it’s 12th grade, right?”

8. What is one thing that someone’s said that stuck with you? Why did it stick? I just keep remembering negative things... Oh, my math teacher said after giving back the statistics test that i was an extremely brave girl. I have no idea what he meant by that, maybe the fact that i started the solution in one way, but kept messing up and had to start again, but instead of doing it the other way i used the one i had decided on... i don’t know, but i got an A so that’s good.

9. What is one issue (global, social-justice-related or something along those lines) that is important to you? Why? Kids allowed to be kids and themselves. Just 18 years of a person’s life can mess up decades and decades of their future. 

10. What is one thing that you wish that you could change about yourself? Why? I wish i had more self confidence and courage to be honest and true to my feelings even if it leads to a conflict with others.

11. What was the last thing that put a smile on your face and made your heart twinge with happiness? The ending of 13x05. No, really! I’ve smiled and laughed since then but my heart hasn’t twinged with happiness like that. I’m trying to remember the last time... probably when i was performing my poetry/songs and it was well received. Kind of creates this amazing atmosphere and electricity, some kids actually believing i was a witch. Last time i was happy was when i published my book.  My questions:

I'm 21 and passed my test a couple of weeks ago. Ok the situation is as follows: I am selling my car for a new one. I have asked my current insurer to transfer my policy to the new car which is fine. However I then questioned about temporarily insuring my old car under the policy and they wanted a ridiculous amount of money for a week - I also do not know how long it will take to sell the car. I questioned the amount and asked what customers generally do when they wish to keep an old car insured. I was told that I could drive my old car on a 3rd party basis as my policy going forward covers me fully comprehensive. I thought fantastic - but then I was shocked when I was told that if I drive the car it is insured 3rd party only but as soon as I park it up somewhere it is uninsured and could be towed away by the police. I have since read my policy document which claim that I can drive any other car 3rd party providing I do not own the car and that there is already insurance in place? Can anyone clarify the above or provide advice. I am so confused and unfortunately are unable to call my insurer back now or over the next couple days? Thanks in advance
