I have acquired some small friends recently c: I ordered 3 bug Pokémon from the Pokémon Center website. I eventually want to get all the bug type sitting cuties (I really want joltik, sewaddle, larvesta, and venipede but they sold out so fast and the resale prices are so high :c) so I am happy to add these 3 to my little bug collection!
I also got a weird lil guy, his name is Flesh. He's a trimming, from that Vita Carnis analog horror thing, produced by Makeship. I've seen a few of the Vita Carnis videos and they were pretty interesting, but I mostly just think the trimmings are cute 🥺 He's really soft and squishy, and very well made!

as a kid i had grand dreams about being a ghost or electric gym leader, but over the years i ended up mainly catching bug types! funnily enough, my main team is just all spider-like pokemon (ariados, galvantula, araquanid, and spidops), so i'm kind of in a niche of a niche :D
Technically, we'd still call you a Bug Catcher, maybe even a specific trainer like "Spider Master" or Arachnid Fan" Those are some popular names.
The more specialized trainers we all have subtle nicknames for.
The worst are the shiny hunters or, as we call them, "Prospectors"
If you feel drawn to Spider like pokemon, then kudos to you because there's a lot of people who can't stand being around them, and they have a negative stigma still.
If you're really passionate, I bet you could bring new light to those multi-legged friends.
Also, you have a slight battle advantage against people who don't like them.

I vividly remember flipping through the 1997 issue of Nintendo Power and coming across the preview for a Japanese game called Pocket Monsters. I was immediately hooked. From trading in the school yard (until it was banned for encouraging gambling) to collecting the original trading cards, I did it all. Oddly enough, I only recently got back into Pokemon a few years ago, even though I played Red, Blue, and Yellow voraciously.
Please enjoy this little tribute to Ken Sugimori (with a little bit of Hayao Miyazaki's pencil + watercolour technique thrown in for good measure).
