Occasionally I think we suffer too much from wanting to inject a normal perspective into star wars. Obviously the clones should not have an everyman normal perspective on the jedi, they are some of the least normal people alive. Obviously the jedi are not a normal perspective either, they grew up in a monastery and have cosmic forces pouring through their heads. The natborn officers are all handpicked fascists so they aren't normal either. Not one single being on any of those warships is ever normal.

Padme was a politician at age 10. Naboo is weird. They're all weird. And those mandalorians. Listen, if a traditional mandalorian found themself on melida-daan as per fanfic tradition, they wouldn't be normal about it. They'd see a bunch elementary kids doing warfare and think that's the coolest shit. They'd teach them how to fire a rocket launcher with their tiny bony arms and when a bunch of them die on the raid they coached them on they'd tell the other seven year olds it 'twas an honorable death.

Dark Souls 1 is one of the best video games (and arguably works of art) ever made, it and the franchise it spawned have singlehandedly shaken up the entire philosophy of game design over the last decade and a half, and it still holds up every time i go back to it. and also if you just go into it raw in 2025 you are going to assume it's fucking dogshit and you'll be mostly correct. truly the Morrowind of action RPGs

still Losing my mind over Harlan playing my game on his birthday spooky stream yesterday not once but TWICE….so here’s a compilation of some behind the scenes and concept art I had for my Malevolent inspired game, D.S al Fine for those that were interested:

First, for the audio enjoyers, I found some old unedited versions of my improv sessions on the piano! with these I cut into and created the ambience for the game as well as the ending track.

some Faroe sadness that didn't make it in fully (also the beginning sounds incredibly like Kayne's motif from wager is that just me???):

this was my first concept art I think! I was insanely hyper when I got the idea to conceptualize a malevolent game, it was like 3am, and I knew at its basis I wanted it to explore what happens right before the show originally starts because I was still a relatively new fan at the time and the ambiguity was incredibly interesting to me

originally I had the plan to make an animation of that, the fingers going into the eye sockets, but unfortunately to execute it im not skilled of an animator yet for the time I had…

So because of the length of the new DW seasons, Ncuti has been doctor for I believe only 5 more episodes than Christopher Eccleston. Now I love 9 he is one of my favourite Doctors I think it’s an absolute crime he didn’t get more time and the situation around that is criminal too, but I’m gonna put that aside for a second.

A Doctor who has had 2 companions, the return of multiple major Classic Who characters, references to the MASSIVE lore changes during the previous era, as well as involvement in currently two specials has FIVE more episodes than one of the shortest incarnations of the Doctor.

Now I can’t find anything concrete that Ncuti’s run is ending after this season, only comments that he hasn’t been ‘axed’ but no dispelling of the rumours of regeneration (or show cancellation lets be real), but if he is leaving??? That feels so wrong.

The length of these seasons is appalling we don’t get enough time to develop ANYONE properly, almost every episode seems to be out competing the others, and the huge classic Who things the entire fandom is talking about have taken place over what is to be THREE episodes. Obviously they’ll likely continue into possibly further seasons but now? With Ncuti? With Varada? It’s three episodes.

Eight episodes will NEVER be enough to tell stories like these. Longer seasons allow for an episode or two that feel a little out of character because we have enough to come back around with whereas eight episodes doesn’t do that - Belinda’s immediate forgiveness and affection after seeing the Doctor torture someone is the best example so far, she literally Would Not Act Like That.

I hope this isn’t the end for Ncuti, him as the Doctor is what’s keeping me watching every week because I LOVE where he’s taking it. I just wish the plot and scripts allowed for more exploration of his version of the character and his wants and wishes (lol) and Ruby and Belinda’s character arcs (if you can even call them that).

I hope I eat my words I hope he gets more time I hope characters start to feel fully fleshed out. Mostly I hope we see the end of 8 episode seasons and go back to actual creative freedom and not a streaming set up show. I hope a lot of things.
