I’m Willing to Wait for It. (Part 1)
Aaron Burr x f!reader
Set 5 days before the Battle of Long Island. Reader is a spy working for Washington.
There’s an upsetting lack of Burr x reader fics out there, so this is my contribution to the cause.
———
The young men from the army were a common sight to see, crowded up in the taverns near the docks in New York Harbour. Raucous, pissing themselves and unashamedly eying up the ladies passing by, they were a sight not to behold. You weren’t expecting to stay for long with such company if you could help it.
Brusquely you made a short circuit around the bar, eyes searching the room, but failing to find the familiar face of someone you were meant to meet with here.
Wolf whistles and the occasional lewd commentary followed you as you found yourself a little nook away from the larger crowds where you could wait for your friend. He had a habit of being late after all and you had time to entertain yourself with watching the antics of those solider boys parading themselves about like peacocks.
From the other end of the room, Alexander Hamilton and his friends John Laurens, Lafayette and Aaron Burr watched you with interest. You were new in this establishment which meant that you were an opportunity.
“Say, where’s Mulligan when you need him?” Lauren’s exclaimed. “He’d be kicking himself if he weren’t here to try and talk such a lovely lady into his bed.”
“I daresay that leaves her fair game to the rest of us then. She holds herself gracefully, I bet she must come from money.” Hamilton jokes.
“Who is she and what family does she belong to? I’ve never seen her before.” Burr questioned with intrigue. He gazed over toward her, and somehow, as if she could feel the heat of his eyes on her, she picked him out from the crowd and returned his stare. It was not a stare of charm, or abashed chasteness that greeted him, but more titillating, it was calm and assessing. His first instinct was to turn away in shame, but his experience made him hold her gaze and respond with a light smile. This was his chance.
“I have absolutely no idea either, but maybe you might care to tell us when you two have a little heart to heart over there, Burr? Looks like someone’s caught her eye.” Hamilton cheekily announced to their circle.
“Oui, you should move quickly mon amie, before another one gets the chance to talk to her!” Lafayette was always the brilliant optimist of their circle, pushing people to try their hardest in all sorts of situations even if the odds were against them.
Although Burr was quite sure that the odds would be in his favour this time.
“I’ll be taking my leave tonight then, gentlemen!” He said as he excused himself from the group.
Weaving around the crowded room, toward you, you saw the man who you locked eyes with was fast approaching. Aaron Burr, you noted. You knew of him and his genius predisposition as well as his status as a young man of growing influence. But you also knew from many accounts that he was an opportunist and a rake.
“Excuse me, my lady, I couldn’t help but notice your exquisite face from afar, may I know what sweet name belongs to a beauty such as yourself?” Without a moment more, he smoothly takes the seat opposite you before anyone else can.
“You speak so kindly, Colonel Burr, my name is Y/N.” You responded in neutrality, you would be waiting otherwise and you supposed that a little flirting wouldn’t hurt in the meantime.
“Ahh, I see that you know of me.”
“It’s hard not to when you’re living in New York. The gossip is always rife.”
“What brings you here tonight? It is unusual to see such lovely woman here alone.”
“I’m here for business, and I’m waiting for someone to arrive.”
“Business? A client?” Burr raised his eyebrows in surprise, was she an escort?
“Business related to the war effort.” You corrected with a blush, realising the misunderstanding.
“Ahh. I must ask what side of the war you are on then.”
Before you could answer again, the shadow of Hercules Mulligan, your contact, towered over Burr.
“Burr! I’m not surprised to see you here, and I see you’ve just already acquainted yourself with Miss Y/N.”
The look of curiosity crossed Burr’s face. How on earth did you know Mulligan? And what role did you play in the revolution?
At the arrival of your contact you relaxed, and without further ado, you turned to your admirer and began to shoo him off. “Mr Burr, I’m afraid Mr Mulligan and I will be discussing some things in private tonight, but it was lovely to meet you.”
“Burr’s a good friend, Miss Y/N and I’m sure he won’t let anything from this conversation leave our little circle, will you, Burr?” Mulligan countered, he must have trusted Burr a lot to let him in on the secret intelligence mission you were working on.
“Of course not, anything said here tonight stays between us.”
This was not the protocol you followed. But you knew Mulligan enough to know that he chose his friends carefully and that he would never invite someone that he didn’t trust to engage in such a sensitive conversation.
“I trust your judgement Mr Mulligan. Bring up a chair then and we’ll get started.”
Over the next hour you gave him explicit details on the movements of the British army that you had gleaned over the course of the week. Things that you were absolutely certain of and plans that were yet unconfirmed. Your position was unique in that it allowed you to move between the American and British side of operations without being questioned.
You were employed to teach the children of a long string of British officers who had started their families in colonies which put you in an advantageous and secure position to gather intelligence for the revolutionary cause. After all, the way to a parent’s heart is through their children, and nobody asks questions of a teacher who is adored by their kids.
“…and there will be an attack, five days from now that there is to be an attack on New York harbour and Long Island when the British fleet arrive. They’re expecting 10 line ships, 20 frigates and 170 transports. 32,000 men.” You said quietly.
“My god. We are unprepared for such conflict.” Mulligan exclaimed, flabbergasted by the revelation. Burr said nothing, although the colour drained from his face immediately. It must be hard to be in his shoes, you thought. The responsibility of leading these men to battle must weigh heavily on him.
You nodded, deep in thought. It would be a bloodbath. How many of these young mirthful men would be here again to tell the tale in 5 days time when all was said and done? Many had never even been in battle before.
“Is that everything you have to report today, Miss?” Mulligan started up again after a brief silence at the table.
“That’s everything.”
“Thank you for the information, I’ll be passing it on to General Washington as soon as I reach him tonight. Hopefully there will be aid for us or another way to defeat the British when they arrive.” Shaking hands with you, he took his leave, but not before turning to Burr. “You should be grateful we have a good spy network. Y/N is one of our best, you should thank her in advance for saving your ass.” He chuckled, clapping his friend on the shoulder before slipping off into the night, leaving the two of you alone again.
“I’m assuming this wasn’t quite the direction you were expecting tonight to take, was it, Colonel Burr?”
“Please, just Aaron. And no, it wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but thank you all for your service to the country.” He bowed his head in newfound respect and awe for your work.
“I could say the same for you. Aaron. You responded with a smile. You tested the name, it was certainly less of a mouthful than ‘Colonel Burr.’
“And I also trust that you will keep my position a secret from your friends?”
“They will be none the wiser, you can trust me.” Burr assured you.
“Thank you. I should be heading home now that Mr Mulligan and I have finished up. Your company tonight was most welcome and flattering, Aaron. I hope you’ll enjoy the rest of your night.”
“It would be my absolute pleasure to walk you home if you’d like. The streets here are not the safest at night and at the very least, maybe I can provide you with some entertaining conversation to pass the time.” Aaron pleaded.
“I wouldn’t be opposed, but I don’t want to deprive you of the company of your friends.”
“I don’t think they’re expecting me again if I’m being honest.” He said coyly.
Uh huh.
You fought hard to not wrinkle your nose in disgust at his suggestiveness. They were not wrong when they said he was reliable with the ladies. You absolutely were not going to be offering him tea and biscuits when you got home.
“It is late, and I won’t be able to offer you room and board at my home.” You warned him.
“The pleasure of walking with you is more than a reward for me.”
“Shall we get going then?”

Pairing: Joe Burrow x fem first person
Words: 4601
Notes: I kind of combined this fic with another request: Is there any way you’d be able to write a second part of them just bonding with Noa and the team meeting Noa?
I would be lying if I said bringing a newborn home from the hospital was easy, because it’s not. It has been the most amazing thing bonding with her and watching Joe become a dad to our precious little girl, but it’s exhausting as well. Most nights, Joe and I only get a few hours of sleep because if I’m not feeding her, one of us is changing her diaper or walking the halls with her to try and calm her down when she starts to cry. On the plus side, it’s already been a week since we brought our little Noa home and none of us are dead yet, so there’s that…although sometimes it feels like I might when she wakes us up.
I walked down the steps very carefully, clinging onto the staircase as I focused on every single step. My body was starting to feel so much better, but those few days after giving birth were the worst and it hurt so much to stand up, so I was still walking around like I would break any second, and Joe was too. Whenever I would stand up, he wouldn’t take his eyes off of me, and he usually was right by my side when I walked up and down the stairs. Typical Joe.
Joe was easy on the eyes but even more beautiful on the inside. To say that he has been absolutely amazing would be the understatement of the century. During feedings, he’s right there with me, making sure that if I’m not sleeping, he’s not sleeping. Everything has been a lot easier because of him and I make sure to thank him everyday for it.
Once I got downstairs, I yawned while walking over to the couch. As soon as Joe heard me, he looked up at me with those gorgeous blue eyes and that amazing pearly white smile. “Hey baby, how are you feeling?” Joe asked me. I laughed a little bit and walked past him and gently sat down on the couch next to him. “Tired.” I said and looked down at little Noa as she slept soundly in his arms. She was absolutely perfect. She had the most amazing blue eyes, just like Joe and the cutest nose in the entire world that looked exactly like Joe’s. She was like his spitting image.
Joe chuckled a little bit and kissed the top of my head. “I know, but isn’t this amazing? We have a family.” Joe said and rested his head on top of mine. Gently, I put my hand on Noa’s tiny foot and started stroking it gently. I felt like I always wanted to be near her, or at least see her at all times. It was like I was connected to her still and felt empty when she wasn’t with me. It was such a weird yet beautiful feeling.
“This is everything I always wanted. I love our little family.” I said. I could feel Joe shaking his head that was resting on mind. “Can you imagine when our little tiger can come to my games next season? I’m going to be the luckiest man in that entire stadium with my beautiful wife and daughter up in that suite.” He said. Our little tiger. As soon as Joe found out I was pregnant and because we didn’t know if it was a boy or girl yet, he started calling her his or our little tiger. It made my heart skip a beat every time I heard it because it was so special. It reminded me of the day I told him I was pregnant and that he was going to be a dad. Now I got to watch him be a dad, and it was amazing.
“Or when she’s old enough to realize that it’s her daddy that’s on the field? I can just see her now pointing at you and asking if that’s her daddy.” I said, smiling down at her as I imagined taking Noa into the stadium when she is old enough to know that her dad is the one playing in the game. I could tell Joe was smiling from ear to ear from above me while imagining what that would be like. To be on that field knowing that his wife and daughter were up there cheering for him. It made me excited just thinking about it.
While we sat there and talked about how perfect our little tiger was and how it felt to be new parents, she started to wiggle in joes arms and fuss a little. Immediately I knew that was her ‘I’m hungry’ fuss. I never believed Robin when she told me that I would be able to understand what she wanted or why she was crying until l started to be able to tell a few days ago. It’s crazy, but she was right. If there’s one thing to know about Robin, is that 99.9% of the time, she’s right.
A week later, the lack of sleep was really catching up on me, but we were getting by without fighting, thankfully. I walked downstairs after getting dressed and found Joe sitting on the couch again, holding Noa who was crying. I knew she was hungry, so I pulled my shirt and bra down a little bit as I made my way over to them. Today was supposed to be the day that some of the team was coming over to see her for the first time, and Joe was super excited.
From the very start of the pregnancy, he always told me how excited he was to show the team his son or daughter, especially Ja’marr and Sam since they’ve known Joe for a long time. Today, only Ja’marr, Sam, Tee, and ted were coming over to see her for the first time.
Once I reached Joe, I grabbed her from his arms and started bouncing her slightly in my arms. As soon as she felt me, she latched right on and stopped fussing. I let out a big sigh and closed my eyes while rocking her in my arms. “Are you okay down here if I go upstairs and get ready real quick?” Joe asked me while he gently hugged me. He grabbed the back of my head and placed a kiss on my lips and then kissed my forehead. “Yes, Joe. I’m not completely incompetent just because I gave birth.” I kind of snapped at him a little bit. Joe looked down at me with a worried look in his eyes, but I walked away and to the couch, not in the mood to talk right now.
“Hey, hey, talk to me, baby.” Joe said and started to follow after me. I sat down on the couch and looked down at Noa who was looking right up at me while she drank. Seeing her all scrunched up with those bright blue eyes looking up at me made me feel so complete. “There’s nothing to talk about. Just go and get ready.” I said. I began to yawn again and shook my head after, trying to wake myself up more. Unlike Joe, I had a hard time going straight to bed after I was woken up by Noa’s cries. Joe and I were opposites when it came to sleeping. While I was a deep sleeper, he woke up at any noise he heard. While I took a little bit of time to go to bed, Joe was out within seconds, which means I haven’t been getting as much sleep as him.
Joe kneeled down in front of me and put his hands on my thighs. “It’s not good to keep things bottled up, I know that better than anyone.” Joe said, looking up at me with those same eyes as Noa. “I said I’m fine.” I said. I really didn’t know why I was snapping at him. I wasn’t mad at him. If anything, I loved him even more than I did when we weren’t parents, and I didn’t think that was possible. “You need to get more sleep tonight.” Joe said and reached up to tuck a strand of hair that fell in front of my face behind my ear. “More sleep? What does that mean? Can you not stand to look at your ugly wife with bags under her eyes?” I snapped at joe again. My brain was so foggy and I was so irritable. I hated feeling this way. I hated being mad at him.
“I didn’t mean that and you know it.” Joe said and was about to open his mouth to say something else but I talked over him. “Just go get ready, Joe.” I said and looked away from him quickly and to Noa who now had her eyes closed. I guess she was a heavy sleeper like me.
With a defeated sigh, Joe stood up and started walking away from me. I listened to his footsteps as he walked up the stairs and then shut the bedroom door. As I sat there in my thoughts, I couldn’t stop the tears from streaming down my face. I was so stressed and sleep deprived that I was taking it out on a joe and I felt terrible about it. While he was being an amazing husband and doing everything humanly possible to make things easier on me, I was being so incredibly rude. He didn’t deserve that.
After a few minutes, Noa stopped drinking and fell completely asleep in my arms. While still crying, I stood up from the couch slowly and started making my way to the stairs. The whole time, I made sure not to make any sudden moves because I didn’t want to wake her. All I wanted to do was go upstairs and apologize to Joe for being an absolute dick to him.
When I got upstairs, I walked over to the bedroom door and opened it up. After I swung it open, I heard the faucet running from inside the bathroom, so I walked over and set Noa down in her bassinet that was right next to the bed. Sniffling a little, I turned around as the water was turned off and saw Joe who was walking over to me. Joe scanned my face and after reading my expression and seeing the tears in my eyes, wrapped me in his arms. I began to cry into Joe’s chest while we both held each other so tightly. “I’m so, so sorry, Joe. I don’t know why I’m so angry.” I said. “Shhh, shhh. Look at me baby. Look at me.” Joe said. I leaned back from Joe and looked up at him as he led us over to the bed. Both of us sat down on it, still holding each other.
I kept sniffling over and over again and wiping my tears. Hell, I didn’t even know why I was crying so much. “When I told you you needed more sleep, that wasn’t me trying to be a dick. I also wasn’t saying that because I thought you looked ugly, because that’s impossible.” Joe said and cupped the side of my face. I melted into his touch and nodded up at him. “I said that because I love you and care about you, and I only want what’s best for you. So, instead of me waking you up all the time like you wanted, I’ll let you sleep more often and I’ll deal with Noa unless she wants to be breastfed instead of bottle fed, or unless she just wants her gorgeous momma.” Joe said.
“Are you sure?” I asked him. Joe reached up and wiped off a tear that streamed down my cheek. “I’m a million percent sure.” Joe said. I nodded and leaned forwards, giving him a quick kiss. Joe was literally the best husband ever. There are so many days where I ask myself how I got so lucky, and this was definitely one of those days. When our lips separated, we kept our foreheads together. “I love you so much, Joey.” I said. “I love you so incredibly much.” Joe said.
From in the bassinet, Noa started to fuss a little bit. It wasn’t one of her hungry fusses, it was her lonely and bored type of fuss. Joe leaned back from me so I could reach over and grab her, and when I did, I carefully placed her on the bed in front of us for some tummy time. Joe and I both laid on our stomachs in front of her, propped up on our elbows while watching her. The both of us kept laughing at the little grunts she kept making as she looked at the both of us. “You’re so perfect little Noa.” Joe said and chuckled while he gave her nose the smallest boop. I let out another yawn while watching her. Just as Joe was about to say something to me after seeing me yawn, Noa started to strain and then I heard that delightful sound of her diaper being filled up.
From the sound of it, Joe and I both covered our mouths a little bit and laughed, knowing this would be a rough one to clean up. Because Joe changed her diaper last time, I started to get up from where I was at on the bed, but Joe shook his head and scooped up Noa. “I’ll go and change her diaper, why don’t you take a nap?” Joe said and stood up from the bed. “It’s fine,” I swung my legs over the bed and planted my feet on the ground, “she’ll need to be fed soon anyways.” I smiled up at him, but Joe stood in front of me so I couldn’t stand up.
“You have pumped so much that there’s a supply to last a few months and she’s going to pass out soon anyways, so take a nap. We’ll be fine, won’t we Noa. Yeah we will.” Joe told Noa and started to rock her in his arms. I glared up at him, feeling like I shouldn’t take a nap, but I couldn’t help but smile at how adorable he was with her. A nap did sound amazing right now. “Okay, but the team’s gunna be here soon.” I said. “I’m going to text them and tell them today isn’t a good day. We can have them over when you’re not being a dick.” Joe joked with me. We both laughed a little bit, knowing it was true although he was joking. “Fine, but if you need me or if she won’t stop crying, wake me up.” I said.
With a smile, Joe bent down some so I could see Noa before I took a nap. “I will. Say goodnight to mommy little tiger.” Joe said in that cute baby voice. I giggled a little bit and stroked my hand gently across the top of her head, feeling her soft hair. “I love you, Noa.” I told her and then looked up at Joe. “I love you, Joey.” I said. Joe looked down at me and kissed my lips. “I love you more.” He said and slowly started to back away. After they disappeared down the hall, I scooted underneath of the blankets and as soon as my head hit the pillow, which was unlike me, I fell right asleep.
After I finally started to get more sleep and take naps when Noa took naps, I started to feel a million times better. I wasn’t as irritable any more and I actually was having so much fun bonding with her. Because I was feeling better, the day finally came for some of Joe’s teammates to meet Noa. Although we planned on having Ja’marr, Sam, Tee, and Ted over for a little bit so they could meet her, we ultimately decided to only have Ja’marr and Sam over for now and introduce her to the team at an Easter get together that we were going to hold. We figured that since we still have a month until people meet her, we can grow into ourselves as parents more and soak in these few weeks of privacy and calmness before a ton of people came over to see her.
“Hey Jordyn, have you seen any of my LSU sweatshirts?” Joe asked me. He was in our walk in closet and I could hear him looking through all of his sweatshirts to find them. I sucked in my lips a little bit and looked down to my chest to see the giant LSU letters on it that I changed into to wear for today. While Joe was wearing the other matching one earlier, Noa decided to surprise him with a little bit of throw up. After I looked down at my chest, I looked at Noa in my arms who was yawning. “Oopsie.” I laughed a little bit. Joe, hearing me, walked out of the closet and began to chuckle when he saw what I was wearing.
“Do you want me to change? I’ll put on one of my LSU sweatshirts instead of yours.” I said. Joe just shook his head and leaned back into the closet quickly, snagging out a bengals sweatshirt. “That’s okay, it looks better on you anyways.” Joe said with a wink when he started walking over to me. Once he reached me, he placed a small kiss on my lips and then stripped off his shirt so he could slip on his sweatshirt. I sucked in a small breath at the sight of his bare chest and couldn’t help but stare. In between my legs started to ache a little bit so I crossed them slightly. From the corner of Joe’s eye, he could see my slightly flustered state and began to flex his arm muscles.
With a scoff, I slapped his arm. Joe and I both started laughing at how unserious he was. I was flustered though. Let’s just say it’s been a few week’s since I’ve had sex and when I see Joe looking extra good, all I can thinking about is sex. Like literally, all I can think about is sex. The bad news, we haven’t had the time to actually have sex, which has been hard.
All of a sudden, I heard someone knocking on the door from downstairs and a smile flashed on my face. “They’re here, let’s go Joe Shiesty.” I giggled a little bit as began to walk out of the bedroom. “Are you ready to meet your half uncles? They may scare you at first, especially Sam since he’s a d-linemen, but he’s like a marshmallow inside, so don’t worry.” I said and kissed the top of her head.
Joe followed after me after slipping on his sweatshirt and as soon as I started walking down the stairs, he put his arm around my back and put the other on my arm, making sure I didn’t fall with Noa in my arms. “Joey…thank you so much, But I know how to walk down the stairs.” I laughed a little bit at how concerned he was whenever I walked down the stairs. “I know, I know. But what if you slip or twist your ankle and fall?” He said. I looked up at him quickly and squinted at him. “When have I ever slipped or twisted my ankle while going up or down the stairs?” I asked him, waiting for an answer. “Last year before you were pregnant and hung out with Karissa.” He said with a ‘hmph,’ feeling triumphant that he had an answer to my question.
“Joe, I was drunk…that doesn’t count.” The both of us laughed a little bit as Joe said, “touché.” There aren’t many times where I get absolutely hammered, but that was definitely one of those times. Me and and my best friend Karissa went to her house to catch up after she got back from a 2 week vacation and one thing led to another, and one drink led to another, and the both of us go so disgustingly drunk that when Joe had to come and pick me up and drive me back home, I may have thrown up in his new car…but that’s besides the point.
I stood back from the door and Joe opened it up. As soon as he did, I couldn’t help but smile as I laid my eyes on Ja’marr and Sam who were waiting patiently for us to answer the door. The last time I saw them was the day of the Super Bowl, and now they each have their first ever Super Bowl rings. Joe dabbed the both of them up and then invited them inside. Ja’marr stepped in first and looked at me and then little Noa who was wide awake, meaning she’d want to eat soon. “Oh my goodness look at her. She looks just like Joey B.” Ja’marr said, covering his mouth with his hand slightly. After he looked at her and ran his fingers over her arm, he looked up at me.
“Hey Jordyn, how are you?” He asked me and carefully hugged me. “I’m doing a lot better now that I learned to actually take a nap when she does.” I laughed a little bit and hugged him, making sure not to move Noa around. “Good, good. Damn. I can’t believe this. Ya’ll are parents.” Ja’marr said and stepped to the side so Sam could see her. “Wow, now those are some long legs. She’s gunna be a D1 player when she grows up.” Sam chuckled and gave me a small hug. “Hey jordyn.” He said. “Hey Sam. It’s good to see you.” I smiled up at him.
We made our way to the living room where we all sat down so they could hold her. When I tell you I was a little nervous to give her up, I was telling the truth. So far only Karissa, my parents, and Joe’s parents have held her, and even then I was nervous for them to hold her. Every time someone held her other than me or Joe, something in me told me they were going to drop her and all I wanted to do was snatch her from them and hide her. Being a mom was a damn weird feeling.
I sat down on the other couch to the side of ja’marr and Sam and who sat on the same one. Before Joe sat down, he gently scooped up Noa from my arms after making sure I was okay to part with her and walked over to Ja’marr who was closer to him. “She’s so tiny dude.” Ja’marr said with a big smile on his face as Joe placed her in his arm. When she was in his arms, I couldn’t help but smile. Even though they weren’t related by blood, the team was still her family, especially Sam and Ja’marr.
Once Ja’marr got her in his arms, he started to look a little nervous and looked like he forgot how to hold a newborn. “Pretend she’s a football. Hold her just like a football.” Joe reminded him. It looked like something clicked in Ja’marrs head as he slowly readjusted Noa in his arms so he was holding her the right way. “You have a kid Ja’marr, how did you forgot how to hold a newborn?” I asked him with a little laughed and folded my legs underneath of myself while watching Noa who was looking up at Ja’marr. At first she looked a little scared, but after a few seconds she just accepted it.
“Yeah, well, he ain’t no newborn anymore. I forgot.” Ja’marr said. We all laughed a little bit. While he held her, I noticed that he kept smiling down at her and her little features. Her beautiful blue eyes. Her perfect little nose. Those wonderful rosy cheeks. Her tiny lips. Everything about her was perfect and it made my heart soar with emotion just thinking about them and how other people are loving them just as much as me.
Once Ja’marr and Sam both held Noa, Joe handed her back to me and she fell asleep right away. Laughter and chatter filled the room as we all talked together about anything and everything. For a while most of the conversations were about the Super Bowl and how amazing it was to win it, so I took that time to go upstairs and feed her real quick. It felt amazing to talk with people other than just Joe on a daily basis. Don’t get me wrong, I love Joe so incredibly much and don’t know what I would do without him, but it’s nice to talk with other people too.
After a little while, I started to get hungry, so everyone followed me into the kitchen so we could resume our conversation. Before I got to the kitchen, I grabbed the baby wrap and wrapped it around myself and placed her inside of it so she could sleep comfortably on my chest without me having to hold her. In the kitchen, the boys all gathered around the island counter while I grabbed some crackers and cheese from inside of the pantry and fridge. Before I walked to the counter, I asked the boys if they wanted anything and they all said no. “Why’d you cancel on us the other day. All I got was a short, ‘sorry, gunna have to plan another day for you to come over.‘” Ja’marr said.
I turned to look at Joe and started laughing. Joe just gave me a shrug. “What kind of text is that Joe? That’s about the same text I sent you 10 years ago. Luckily you wouldn’t take no for an answer.” I said. It was true, that’s about the same text I sent Joe about 10 years ago when I was on the fence about going on a date with him. Let’s just say i’m extremely happy Joe was extra persistent. “Wow…are you breaking up?” Sam asked Joe and Ja’marr with a little gasp and We all started laughing at Sam’s joke.
I popped a cracker in my mouth after putting a piece of cheese on it and shook my head. “Don’t worry, that would never happen,” I laughed, “I may have been a little sleep deprived and snapped at Joe when I thought he called me ugly.” I said. “Y’know Joey B would never call his girl ugly. You should hear the way he talks about you in the locker room. ‘She’s so beautiful, I love her with all my heart, she’s the best thing to ever happen to me.’” Ja’marr laughed when Joe slapped his arm, not liking that little interpretation of himself. “What did you even say?” Sam asked Joe.
“I told her that she should get more sleep since she’s been exhausted and I wanted what’s best for her, and she took that as a, ‘I don’t want a wife whose ugly and has eye bags,’ she was validated though, having a newborn is exhausting. But jordyn has been amazing.” Joe said and smiled down at me. My face flushed red from the small compliment and I shook my head, trying to get it to go away so nobody saw. “Well I’m glad everything’s going good now. I can’t wait till she’s old enough to run around the facility with us.” Sam said, looking at her as she was curled up against my chest.
While Joe couldn’t take his eyes off of Noa who was sleeping, I noticed ja’marr looking right at Joe. “Dude, she’s got you wrapped around her little finger already.” Ja’marr chuckled a little bit. Joe nodded and let out a sigh. “If that ain’t the damn truth, I don’t know what is.” Joe said and looked up at me with that perfect smile.

hi!! before i go i jus wanna say, I love your work 🙏🏽 and I finally watch hamilton last night so I might write for it as well 😋😋 but i have a drabble idea.
anyways— thomas having a dance/ball for a campaign during the election and he meets aaron’s little sister, mc, who snuck in. and he can’t help but take interests in her.
“Now, what’s a lady like you doin’ getting a drink just for yourself? Nobody’s offered to do that for you yet?”
Y/N froze as her fingers met the stem of the champagne flute. She had promised herself she would stay to the outskirts of the ball, and her only goal for the night had been to avoid courting attention. However, the packed room was warm, and it was only more so at its perimeter under the lights, and the crisp bubbly had looked oh-so-inviting.
She turned with a polite smile as she picked up the glass, but her eyes widened when she saw the man behind her with his gleaming smile and his velvet suit. She recognized him instantly; after all, she’d seen him before, and he’d even been in her home, but they’d never formally met. He raised an eyebrow when her smile faltered. “I’ve only just arrived. I haven’t had a chance to speak to much of anyone just yet.”
“Then I’m gonna have to count myself lucky to have found you when I did. Thomas Jefferson.” He offered her a hand as he introduced himself, and when she took it, he dipped down to press a soft kiss to her knuckles. Her eyes went even wider.
She cleared her throat as he drew himself back up to his full height, still holding her by the fingertips, and it took a moment for it to occur to her to withdraw her hand. “You’re the host of this ball, then, if I’m not mistaken. Thank you for opening your home to us like this.”
“Believe me, sugar, the pleasure’s all mine,” he said. “Who’re you here with? Feel like I’ve seen you around, but I can’t put my finger on it.”
“Oh, um, my family’s here somewhere. I came on my own, though, and I was planning to meet them here.”
“Your family?” He pursed his lips. “You’re not a Schuyler, are you?”
“No, no, certainly not,” she replied before hastily adding, “although the Schuylers are lovely people, of course. To be a part of their family would make one lucky.”
“So you know the Schuylers, then?” he mused, and she nodded. His growing smile was making her mouth go dry. “I know where I recognize you from; you’re a Burr, aren’t you? Aaron’s sister?”
“I am, yes.” Her smile was tense, laced with unease. His grin was bright as he plucked a drink for himself off of the table behind them.
“So why haven’t I seen you at one of these before? Your family trying to keep you locked away from all the politics?” he asked, and as her eyebrows fell, he could see the look in her eyes sour.
“They’ve decided I can’t be trusted at this kind of event,” she said bitterly, and he quirked a brow. “Aaron claims he’s afraid I’ll say the wrong thing and jeopardize his career, but really, I think he just can’t deal with the idea of splitting people’s attention between us.”
“But you finally proved yourself trustworthy?” he asked mildly, taking a sip of his drink, and she shrugged uncomfortably.
“I suppose so.”
“Then where’s your dear brother now, hm? Why aren’t you here with the rest of your family?” He watched her expectantly, and when she didn’t answer right away, his grin broadened. “They don’t even know you’re here, do they?”
“No, and you’re not going to be the one to tell them,” she said sharply, pointing her champagne flute at him. He raised his eyebrows, amused by the fervor in her tone. “I had to walk miles alone in the dark to get here; I am not being thrown out as soon as I arrive.”
“Well, sweetheart, if you’re not with them, then really, I should be sendin’ you on your way.” Despite the threat, his voice was breezy, and she frowned.
“And what do you have to gain from kicking me out?”
“The respect and appreciation of your family,” he suggested blithely. “The knowledge that I’m not leavin’ a young lady to walk home alone ‘n vulnerable at the end of the night. ‘S just the right thing to do, really.”
She eyed his small smile for a moment before slowly asking, “But despite that, you’d rather I stay, wouldn’t you?” He shrugged unabashedly. “You’re quite shameless, aren’t you, Mr. Jefferson?”
“Only on a good day.” He winked as he took a sip of his drink. “After all, you went through all that effort to get here. There’s gotta be a good reason for it, huh?”
“Of course. I’m here to expand my mind just like everyone else," she said, and he raised an eyebrow.
“And not for the charming future president we’ve got roaming the ball?”
“Oh, I wasn’t aware there was one. Let me know if you see him?”
His full laugh proved him undeterred, and Y/N’s self-satisfied smile was reluctant. "'M glad to see you inherited more of the family wit than your brother seemed to."
"Please, don't tell him that. A lady needs to keep some things a secret."
"It'll stay between us, then," Thomas said, "but I don't think I ever got your name."
"Why, so you know whose presence to report to my brother?"
"So I know who to ask after the next time I see him." His response was quick, and it had Y/N on her heels. Her eyes were wide, eyebrows raised, but when she opened her mouth to answer—
"Y/N." Both she and Thomas turned on their heels at the loud voice to find her brother striding across the room toward them, and her groan was unchecked. The fury in Aaron's voice was barely contained. "What in the world do you think you're possibly doing here, sneaking out after dark? How did you even get here?"
"I brought myself, since nobody else was willing to take me," she bit back, and Thomas raised his eyebrows as he took a sip of his drink.
"That wasn't your decision to make," Aaron snapped. "We are a family, and you have to respect that—"
"Respect what? That you have total control over my life in the name of family values? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?" she asked. "I respect that you have a career and a reputation to maintain, but I am a person, and—"
"And nothing, Y/N. Put the drink down, and leave Mr. Jefferson at peace," he demanded, and Y/N narrowed her eyes, her jaw set. Aaron turned to Thomas, and much of the fire in his voice had subsided when he said, "I'm sorry for her intrusion, Thomas. We didn't know she had followed us here, and we'll send her home at once."
"Now, Aaron, what makes you think she's uninvited company?" Thomas asked, and both Y/N's and Aaron's brows were raised. "Y/N's my guest here this evening; 's the opposite of an intrusion."
He frowned, glancing between Thomas and Y/N. "You mean you're responsible for her presence here tonight?"
"Well, I invited her, so I suppose you could say that," he said casually, and if he winked when he caught Y/N's eye, Aaron didn't think anything of it. Aaron's lips were pursed and his shoulders tense as he glanced between them.
"Why didn't you tell me Thomas had invited you?" he asked Y/N, and she shrugged.
"I didn't think you'd want to hear it, and I didn't want you trying to prevent me from coming."
"If I'd known he asked you to come—"
"So, what, my personhood is dependent on his permission now?"
"Your presence here is, at least."
"As a Burr, I would've been welcome either way."
"Not unattended, however."
"I can attend to myself just fine."
"You know that isn't what I mean when—"
"Aaron, was there somethin' else you needed?" Thomas cut him off, and Aaron's gaze was affronted when it snapped to him. However, he held his tongue. "I was just about to ask Y/N to dance, assuming that's her decision to make 'n all."
Y/N had to bite back her smile at his words, and although Aaron seemed to recognize the challenge in them as his jaw ticked, he said, "Of course. I'm sorry to have interrupted."
"Don't sweat it. Your concern for your sister is awful sweet, even if it isn't needed here," Thomas responded, his smile warm.
"'Concern' isn't how I'd describe it," Y/N muttered bitterly, and Thomas nudged her with his elbow. She frowned.
"Carry on 'n enjoy the rest of the ball, though, and please send my best to your wife," he said. Aaron could only offer a tense smile in response.
“You as well. I suppose I should go find Theodosia.” He looked down skeptically at Y/N. “How are you planning to get home?”
Y/N’s eyebrows shot up. “Oh, I…” She hadn’t thought that far, so her gaze was hopeful when it snapped to Thomas, who held her with a hand at the small of her back.
“I’ll arrange for a carriage to take her home,” he promised. “Don’t you worry, Burr. She’s in safe hands.”
“Right,” he said hesitantly, looking Thomas over. “I’ll leave you to it. Don’t do anything stupid, Jefferson.”
“‘S like you don’t even know who you’re talkin’ to,” Thomas said incredulously, and Aaron scoffed.
“I’m sure.” He barely spared them both another glance before departing unceremoniously, shaking his head all the while, and Thomas chuckled. Y/N turned back toward him.
“You’re a regular local hero,” she said sardonically, but the smile in her eyes betrayed her bored tone. Thomas grinned.
“I do try, sweetheart,” he said lightly, “maybe even in a way that deserves a ‘thank you’?”
“Thank you.” Her voice was sincere. “Really. I owe you.”
“Well, if you mean that, he said, and his eyes were shining as he looked down at her, “I wouldn’t mind making good on that dance I mentioned. Unless you’re in a real rush to get back to your dear old brother.”
He offered her his arm with an eyebrow raised, and she left her empty glass on the table behind them when she took it, drawing a wide grin from him. “How could I say no to our charming host?"

pinky promise ? • Joe Burrow.
Tumblr media
summary : joe knows his fiancé, charleigh had a rough day so he try’s to make it better.
warnings : idk.
pairing : fiance!joeburrow x fiance!jizaiah
——————————————————————
“babe !” i shouted through joe and i’s shared house, i had just finished my skincare and was about to brush my teeth but i didn’t know where joe had put our toothpaste.
“yes ?” i could hear his foot steps on the stairs as he walked up them, i met him in the doorway before speaking, “where’d you put the toothpaste ?”
“it’s in the draw” he said, he could tell by the look on my face that my day had been hell, he grabbed my hand dragging me into the bathroom with him, he opened the draw and grabbed the tube out.
he propped up his phone-knowing i like to get moments like this on record-and engulfed me in a tight hug, kissing my wet hair as my arms snaked around his shirtless torso, my head resting on his chest.
his hand begun stroking my head as i rested my eyes, i felt his hand stop on the back of my neck, gently moving my head to look up at him “you okay ?” he question, i nodded my head, sending him a flatlipped smile.
“i ordered chick-fil-a it should be here soon” said joe, i looked up at him and kissed his cheek.
“how ‘bout you get a movie ready in the living room and i go to the store, and i promise i’ll be right back” he smiled at me, i nodded and grabbed one of his hands and held it as we walked down the stairs.
he slid on his tazman uggs and grabbed the keys off the counter, he opened the door, he was standing in the frame and i stuck to the side of the door holding the knob.
“be fast please” i begged, “i will” joe said and placed a passionate kiss on my lips, i wrapped my hands around his neck and hung on to him, not wanting him to leave. “baby i’ll be right back” he pulled away from the kiss.
i let go of him and he walked to the car, i closed the front door and walked into our living room, clicking through peacock before settling on my personal favorite, harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban.
i paused it before it could even start, scrolling through my phone as i waited for joe to come back home. i got bored so i decide to get out the book i’ve been reading.-hunting adeline by H.D Carlton-i relaxed into the corner of the couch, flipping the pages as i read through them.
when the food arrived i grabbed it, thanked and tipped the man before going back into the living room, i set the food down and waited for joe to come back home.
this week has just not been my week, earlier this week joe and i had gotten into an argument, he did something i didn’t like with jagger, my son, when we were fighting i called jagger “my son” and let’s just say joe didn’t like that, but he understood after everything jag has been through he knows i’m overprotective of him.
tonight jagger was with my mom and stepfather, they wanted to see him, i don’t let him go off a lot without me for a few reasons, one he’s only four, two i’m overprotective, three i can’t trust anyone with him.
sooner or later joe came back, he walked in with a basket full of my favorite snacks, a sprite, and some roses, i slightly smiled and got up to go over to him.
before i could even get around the couch he was already at me, putting his long legs to use, “here, these are for you, mama” he kissed my head and sat down i sat beside him cuddling into him.
“i’m sorry” i told him, he sent me a confused look but this is something i need to talk to him about.
“for what baby ?”
“the other day, you know how i am with jag, and i don’t want you to just leave or hurt hi-hurt us” i sat up straight and looked at him trying to read his body language.
“i wouldn’t be here if i planned on hurting either one of y’all, there wouldn’t be a ring on your finger if i planned on leaving, it just hurt a little hearing you call him your son as if i don’t do anything for him” he said his face becoming unreadable.
“i’m sorry” my eyes met his once again before he pulled my head to his chest, he stood up, still holding me and sat in the corner of the couch, i cuddled into his side even more.
“i love you charleigh” his index finger arched under my chin and lifted my head to his view.
“promise ?” i asked him.
“i pinky promise” he stuck his pinky out and interlinked it with my own, i smiled and kissed his cheek, for the rest of the night we sat there, sitting right next to each other, my head rested on his shoulder, watching the movie, eating, and talking every now and then.
“one last thing then we can put this away, okay ?” i said to him, he nodded and put his full attention on me. “do you want to adopt jagger ?” i questioned him, my eyes brimming with tears at the thought.
joe was speechless, his eyes also starting to tear up, i didn’t know if it was a good or bad thing “if you don’t want to it’s fine” i fidgeted with my fingers looking down at my bare feet.
his hand grabbed onto my foot as he began to speak “no. i want to, i wouldn’t want nothing else” the tears in both of our eyes finally falling, i wiped his cheeks as he wiped mine, laughing a little before pulling his head in and placing my lips to his.

I had a request for some smut so here you go <3 I haven't written smut since probably 2016 or some shit so this very well may be cringe
Warning!!! Smut ahead!!
also I swear I had a better pic of him on one knee but I can't find it for the life of me
Tumblr media
Joe had planned an amazing trip for the two of you. It had been a while since you two had been on vacation, especially since life had been so hectic since football season.
The two of you spent the week in Malibu with a house on a private beach. It was the best vacation anyone could ask for. Good food, gorgeous beach, and Joe’s company.
Most of your time was spent down on the beach tanning or in the water throwing a frisbee with Joe. He loved when you’d play games with him, but especially when you’d casually throw things with him. You sucked, but he didn’t care. You tried and that’s all that mattered.
The last few days of the trip approached, and Joe seemed to act a little more nervous as each day progressed. You didn’t think much of it considering the two of you are very routine oriented and a consecutive amount of days out of that routine would stress either of you out.
You were reading a book on the screened in porch when Joe came to join you.
“Hi baby, watchu doin?” He asked, leaning down to kiss you, then sit down next to you.
“Readin” you replied, closing the book on your finger to hold your place.
“How would you feel about dinner on the beach tonight?” He asked, raising his eyebrows in a cute manner.
“I think that would be really cute! Almost something out of my dreams,” you smiled as you set your bookmark to save your place. You looked over to Joe, seeing his blue eyes glisten in the evening light.
“Great, be ready by 7, I’ve got things to do!” Joe exclaimed with a giddy little wiggle. He loved to plan dates for you so this wasn’t out of the blue.
You headed up to the room to get changed after another 15 minutes on the porch. Joe was nowhere to be found, but this was the type of stuff he loved to do.
You put on your favorite white sundress and began to do your makeup. You had a feeling something like a proposal might happen, the timing was perfect and all the pieces started to click together in your mind like a puzzle. You became giddy, so excited that time couldn’t go by any faster.
The idea of a proposal made you want to get your hair and makeup perfect. You did light and delicate makeup and curled your hair to form soft waves. You were giddy looking at yourself in the mirror, all aspects of the outfit put together.
"Y/n, where are you?" Joe called out from the downstairs of the house.
"Bathroom, I'm on my way down now!" You replied back in a voice loud enough to reach the downstairs of the house.
You made your way downstairs, meeting Joe in the living room. He looked so hot in his khaki shorts and light blue button down. His hair was fluffy and swoopy.
"You look gorgeous babe," he said, pulling you into a hug. You could sense that he was nervous but he didn't want to show it.
"And you look so handsome," you said, getting up on your tiptoes to leave a kiss on his chin.
"Let's go, I'm so excited to show you what I've planned," Joe leads you out the back door toward your private beach.
Your jaw drops at the sight of a candle lit picnic dinner by the ocean.
You follow Joe down the beach, trying to hide your excitement. The more you noticed, the more you expected to get engaged. One you saw the expensive bottle of champagne, you had a feeling of what was about to go down.
Joe stops just before the beach blanket he had laid out, wrapping his arm around your back as you both look off into the ocean.
"This is gorgeous, Joey. What a great surprise," You gushed, smiling up at him.
"Turn around babe, I have another surprise for you," you followed his orders, turning around like he said to.
"Y/n, turn back around," he said with wavering in his voice.
When you turn around, Joe is down on one knee with a gorgeous diamond ring in a velvet blue box. Your hands shot up to cover your mouth in shock, tears immediately filling your eyes.
"Y/n, I love you so much, and all I want is you, for the rest of my life. I want to carry on this life with you and only you. Will you marry me?" Joe asked with tears in his own eyes.
"Yes, yes, yes!!" You cheered and leaned down to hug him while he was still on his knee. When he stood up, he slid the gorgeous ring on your finger, you staring at it in awe. He did damn good with his ring designing.
"Oh my god Joey I love you so much," you cried into his shoulder as he picked you up and spun you around. Upon setting you down, your lips crashed together, your arms snaking around his neck and his staying around your waist.
"I love you, y/n, and I can't wait to marry you," He whispered and kissed you again.
"I just hope you got a photographer for this moment," you laughed at him, he smiled knowing that was the biggest factor for your engagement.
"I did, babe. Don't worry," he reassured you, pointing to the balcony of the house you were staying in.
"Let's open this baby," Joe cheered, reaching down for the Champagne bottle.
You both put your hands around it, popping the cork toward the house. You were one to keep champagne corks.
The photographer continued to take pictures as you two ate your dinner in the candlelight.
Upon dinner being finished, you crawled over to Joe's arms, sitting between his legs and playing with his fingers. You two carried on sweet conversation about how excited you both were. It was your dream engagement and you were both so excited to spend the rest of your lives together.
After the sun had set and the moon lit the ocean, you two headed inside, in a romantic trance.
Joe picked you up and carried you into the house bridal style. He joked that he had to get his practice in.
He carried you up to the bedroom where you found a new pair of cozy pajamas that said wifey. You smiled, grabbing them and taking them to the bathroom to get ready for bed.
After you were ready for bed, you found Joe laying in the bed in just his boxers. That sight was so attractive, even though you had been seeing that all week. Something about being engaged lit a fire in the pit of your stomach.
You climbed on top of Joe, straddling over his crotch. He smiled at you, wrapping his hands around your waist. You leaned down to kiss him, hands feeling up and down his chest. You felt him grow in his pants, ready for action.
After making out for what felt like an hour, Joe began to pull your top off. He sucked at your tits, leaving hickies in spots that wouldn’t be seen in a bikini. You moaned into his touch, enjoying every moment.
“Turn over baby,” he whispered, flipping you onto your back. He took his boxers off, exposing his large erection. He pulled off your sleep shorts and panties, leaving you exposed to the world.
“You ready?” He asked, whispering into your ear. You nodded in response.
You let out a soft moan as he teased your entrance with his tip. His lips exploring your neck and collarbone. His breath fanned over your body as he tried to restrain himself from absolutely destroying you.
“Joey stop teasing, I need you,” you moaned as you pulled him closer, directing his erection to your entrance, eager to feel him inside you.
“Wanted to take it slow but I guess that’s not the case,” he mumbled seductively with a chuckle. You smiled in response as he held his rhythm. You were eating up the pillow princess time.
Once you had settled to his large size, he began to make a steady rhythm, causing your body to seize up in all the right ways.
“Mmm baby so good,” you moaned into his ear, sucking on his earlobe.
“I love you baby,” he panted out as his strokes quickened, approaching his climax.
You directed his hand toward your clit, needing more stimulation to quicken your orgasm. Joe obliged, using his thumb and pointer finger to dance over your clit, causing the pit inside of your stomach to grow.
You could see that Joe was about to unfold. Normally, you didn’t like him finishing inside you, but this was different. You were engaged now, and hell, he can afford a PlanB.
Your body tensed up as you felt that familiar pit in your stomach, approaching your orgasm. Joe kept thrusting and his pace quickened.
You both unleashed your orgasms, ones that had built up for a while. Joe let loose inside of you, making sure to lean down into your hear and repeat how much he loved you over and over.
After you both rode out your highs, Joe laid back down next to you, pulling you close. Your breathing patterns resulted back to normal, and you both smiled in contentment.
"I love you so much, future Mrs. Burrow," he smiled and kissed you once again.
"I love you so much more, future Mr. Burrow, husband of y/n Burrow," you kissed him again.
After a short bit of post-sex snuggles, you both put your clothes back on and got back in bed, ready for sleep. Being in the sun all day was exhausting enough as is, but all the events from the day wore the both of you out.

Pretty in the Moonlight
Thomas Jefferson x reader
Summary; just missing your boyfriend and him missing you
Warnings; broken glass, cheesy Thomas
Words; idkk
I wrote this forever ago
Requests are welcome and encouraged!
Tumblr media
Baby😘
y’know ur rly pretty, we should go out sometime
r u high again
highly in love with u
u do the cutest things
like what
exist
I smiled at my phone as I sat on my couch. I stared at what my boyfriend of almost a year said to me, happiness blooming in my heart. My phone dinged as another message came through.
Sick Boi 🤒🤧
are you texting him rn
like currently
?
wha
thomas, r u texting thomas rn
yes
dude he’s smiling at his phone mad hard rn
stop, my heart
i’m not kidding he’s smiling so much
I shut my phone off and squealed, kicking my legs into the air. Fast footsteps came down the hall to reveal the youngest Schuyler sister.
“What is it? What happened?” She asked quickly.
“Come here,” I motioned her over as her sister came behind her. Peggy sat next to me whereas Angelica and Eliza stood behind the couch, peering over our shoulders.
I opened my phone to show them the texts. Big smiles grew on their faces as they read Thomas’ texts, and then Peggy started squealing when she read James’.
“Oh my god, y/n, Jeffersons in love with you,” Angelica commented with a big smile.
“By the looks of it the feeling is reciprocated as well,” Eliza teased and I smiled, hiding my red face in my sweater paws.
Thomas’ sweater. I remember when he purposely ordered it a size too big for him (for my bigger girls who think they won’t fit into his sweatshirt, don’t sweat it, he needs bigger sizes for his big muscles and he likes his sweatshirts big on him as well, don’t worry about that my loves, body positivity) so it’d be baggy on me.
“Omg, you should go see him!” Peggy said excitedly, “When was the last time you left the dorm? You’ve been so busy studying, you haven’t had time to see him. He’s probably so emo about it,” She said quickly and I laughed.
“Okay, I’ll go see him,” I stood from the couch as the sisters dispersed and walked to my room. I put on a pair of sweatpants over my shorts because it was cold outside, and just slipped my slides over my socks. The combo might look horrible but it’s so comfortable.
I stepped out of the door, immediately shivering at the cold night air as I closed it. I could see my breath in the air as I looked at the moon and the stars, slightly smiling at the sight before my eyes. I truly am grateful it’s a sight I get the privilege to see anytime when the clouds aren’t out and concealing its beauty. The leaves on the trees sang as the wind passed through them, every once in a while a leaf would fall, signaling that winter was coming soon.
As I neared Thomas’ dorm room I heard voices inside, the dumbest thing the school’s done was put Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton in the same dorm room. I went up to the door and decided to silently walk in instead of knocking. The boys were arguing in the living room area of the dorm as James was trying not to have a coughing fit on the couch and Aaron was sitting at the island holding his head in his hands. John was nowhere to be found so I assumed he was next door with Laf and Hercules.
I silently walked over to the fridge, waving to Aaron who immediately noticed I was there. I grabbed a glass from the drying mat and quietly pulled the milk from the fridge, I barely paid attention to the fight that was happening as I poured my milk. I turned around and walked towards the island but tripped over something, in an attempt to not step on whatever I tripped on, I dropped the glass of milk. The glass shattered against the ground, successfully catching the attention of everyone in the room.
I gave them a sheepish smile, “Hi?”
“Darlin’, when did you get here?” Thomas asked, frozen in place.
“Like, two minutes ago. Now, where is the broom?”
Aaron pointed to the corner where the trash can was and I nodded as a silent thank you. Before I got the broom, I bent down and picked up the culprit for the tripping. John’s turtle.
“Here, I’ll put him in his enclosure,” Aaron offered and I smiled at him, handing the turtle over to him.
I went to get the broom, but Thomas ran and beat me there.
“Let me get that for you.” He said and I rolled my eyes, grabbing onto the broom, but he didn’t let go.
“Thomas, I made the mess.”
“It’s my dorm, and I’m stronger than you. I win."
I rolled my eyes again and defiantly let go. I began searching for a rag to clean the milk up with as he swept up the glass. Alexander threw something at me and I smiled at the rag in my hands.
“Thanks, dickhead.”
“Anytime, asshole."
After Thomas swept the glass I quickly wiped up the milk. Once I put the rag in the sink arms immediately wrapped around my waist.
“Hello, baby." I said quietly with a smile.
“I missed you.” He whispered in my neck, sending shivers down my spine.
“I’ve missed you too, my love.”
“I wanna go on a walk with you,” He mumbled.
“Okay, let’s go.” I gently unwrapped his arms from my waist and he reluctantly left my side to slip his shoes on.
Once he put them on he opened the door and gestured for me to exit. I did and he followed after me, quietly closing the door so as to not wake anyone. He held my cold hand, warming it up as we walked.
We walked in silence until we sat on a bench, looking up at the moon.
It was quiet until his voice cut through the air.
“Has anyone ever told you that your eyes sparkle in the moonlight?”
I looked at him beside me and smiled, “No, no one has ever told me that. And that's really cheesy.”
He tucked a piece of hair behind my ear (if you have long enough hair for that), “Shame on them. You’re so beautiful in the moonlight. And I love cheese so that's okay.”
“As are you, Thomas, and yes, cheese is delicious.” I responded as his face neared mine.
Our lips met in a soft kiss, his hand touched my cheek. My heart’s rhythm synced with his and our lips moved together perfectly, his thumb gently caressed my cheek, and my arm wrapped around the back of his neck. We pulled back for air, our foreheads resting against each other.
“I love you so much, mon amour.” He whispered.
“I love you too.” I whispered back with a smile.

This was a request for Dad!Joe celebrating his son's birthday. I hope you like it @mrsshiesty
Dad!Joe is the type of dad to go all out for his son every birthday. I'm talking about he wakes up at 5 am to decorate his door. Joe has kept a neat list in his phone of everything his son even glanced at or mentioned. Dad!Joe might have gone overboard and bought him every toy he asked for throughout the year.
"Joe, do we really need to do this. I think-"
"Shhh. You'll wake him. I think it's a good tradition. Plus, he really likes it. With the new baby coming, he's been feeling left out." Joe whispers. You nod your head and pass him the tape. When you announced you were pregnant, Little Joe didn't take it so well. He did not want a sister he would have to share his daddy with. You rub your belly, watching your husband put the final touches on the door. This year, Jojo was really into dinosaurs. He had you and Joe redecorate his room to a dinosaur-themed room, including a Jeep bed with a T-Rex head hanging over it.
"It looks great. Now can we please go to bed? I'm 8 months, my feet hurt, and if I don't get my sleep in, I will be even more cranky."
Joe nods and pulls you to the bedroom. You only get two more hours of sleep before the birthday boy comes running in.
"Happy birthday to me! Jojo is 5 now!" He shouts. Joe sits up, pulling Jojo into the bed. You watch your son bounce on the bed excitedly.
"Dad! Make me the oatmeal with the dino eggs, please!" Jojo screams. Joe scoops him up, and they disappear, leaving you to sleep for a little bit more. You wake up around 10:30 to the boys watching Jurassic Park. You can't even remember the number of times Jojo has made you both watch those movies. You could probably recite the lines. Joe crawls out of the tent to pepper your face with kisses.
"Have you guys just been watching this?"
"Yeah, it's what he wanted. Hurry up and shower; you know we're taking him to the dinosaur exhibit." He reminds you.
"Actually, I need to stay here and get things ready plus, I think this will be good for you guys to talk. Our daughter will be here in 3 weeks, and he still refuses to talk about it." You whisper the last part. Joe agrees and takes Jojo upstairs to shower and get ready. The boys return wearing matching t-shirts and shorts. You kiss your boys and wish them farewell for now. You need to get everything ready for the surprise party.
"Dad. I'm a big kid now. I can sit in the front, right?"
"Not yet, kiddo. You need to get a little bit older." Joe laughs, strapping him into his car seat. Jojo starts playing with his T-rex along the drive. When they arrive, Joe gets stopped by some fans in the parking lot. He takes photos, but when the crowd gets too much, he has to decline. He didn't want to ruin Jojo's day.
"Why are those people taking photos, Dad?"
"I'm famous."
"Why?"
"Because Daddy plays football professionally; remember we talked about it?"
Jojo stares at him.
"But you're just daddy. How can you be famous?"
"Umm, you know the movie we watch? The people on there are acting professionally, so they are also famous." Joe explains. Jojo stares at him again.
"Am I famous?" He asks. Joe chuckles.
"Kinda, but not really."
"I see. Look how big this brachiosaur is!" Jojo shouts, wiggling out of Joe's arms. Joe sets him down and watches his son sprint the outside standee. Joe snaps a few photos and sends them to you. Jojo takes his hand and leads him to the entrance. Joe takes out his card to pay, but the cashier lets' him know it's free.
"I can't do that. It's fine."
"We insist, Joe." The manager says.
"At least let me pay for the family behind me." Joe hands the card over and the manager charges it. Jojo taps his foot waiting for his father to come. Joe finally finishes and takes his hand.
"We should start with the North America dinosaurs, then make our way around," Jojo shouts, holding up the map. Joe does his best to let Jojo take the lead, but people keep stopping them.
"Dad! We're going to miss the show!" Jojo yells.
"I need to get-"
"You need to get us another ring." An older guy says with his buddy nodding.
"I will try my best. Next season we plan to go harder." Joe nervously laughs.
"Dad!" Jojo screams, causing everyone to look. Joe excuses himself and follows Jojo.
"Sorry, the show started and unfortunately once it started we can't let anyone in." The worker apologizes but Jojo's eyes start to water.
"I'm so sorry little man."
"Take me home! I want Mommy!" He cries.
"Look, we still have one more floor to go to."
"I said home!" Jojo runs off, and Joe chases him. He picks Jojo up and takes him to the last floor. Jojo buries his face in Joe's neck and refuses to pay attention. Joe mispronounces the dinosaur names on purpose so that Jojo corrects him every time.
"No that is Diplodocus, dad." Jojo corrects him smiling.
"So smart." Joe kisses his head and lets Jojo down to explore. This time Joe refuses photos and autographs, which most people understand. He is not there at star quarterback Joe Burrow. Today he is only dad. Joe takes Jojo back for the show, but the next show isn't until 3, and they needed to head home for the party.
"It's his birthday today, and it would really mean a lot."
"I understand, but there is nothing I can do."
"Can you ask you, manager, please tell him it's for Joe Burrow." Joe folds his hand, begging. He hated using the I'm Joe Burrow thing, but it was Jojo's birthday, and he wanted to see this show. Joe would do anything to keep him happy. The worker pages the manager.
"Play the show, Helen. Are you insane? Whatever Joe wants!" He replies. Helen laughs and lets Joe and Jojo in. Joe is happy they are alone because he is starting to feel bad turning down kids for photos. Jojo placed his 3D glasses on and sat back, watching the show go on. In the end, he couldn't stop smiling.
"Dad, when I grow up, I want to study dinosaurs! Unless you want me to play football."
"Jojo, you can be anything you want to be. If you want to be a Paleontologist, go for it. Your mom, sister, and I would be proud of you either way." Joe says, picking him up and placing him in the car. Jojo looks down at his new T-Rex plushie and frowns.
"My sister?"
"Yes. You know mommy is pregnant and carrying your little sister in her belly right. I know you've been upset about it but it will be fun to be a big brother."
"You're not a big brother; how would you know?" Jojo rolls his eyes.
"You're right, but I'm a little brother, and having a sibling is the best thing in the world. You remember in the film how the older triceratops protected his little sister?"
"Yes. That's what I will do too. I'll protect sissy!" Jojo smiles.
"You will. And me and Mommy will protect both of you."
"unless one of us is the weaker one, then Mommy will abandon us." Jojo mumbles. Joe laughs. Maybe he shouldn't use dinosaurs to explain family. When they arrive home, Joe takes Jojo to the backyard, where everyone jumps out shouting surprise. The backyard has been transformed into a Jurassic theme. Jojo squeals and jumps with excitement. He runs around, saying hello to everyone and then to the huge dino figure near the pool. Finally, he makes his way to you.
"Mommy, I can't wait for sissy to come! I'll be the best big brother."
"Aww, my baby." You bend down to hug him feeling your little girl kick. Jojo runs around with his cousin and friends, playing. When it's time to open gifts, you shake your head at the amount Joe got Jojo. After cleaning up, and when the guest leaves, you take a much-needed bath. You find your favorite boys in bed waiting for you. Jojo lies in the middle, smiling. You and Joe got pregnant fresh out of college. At 21, you had no idea what the future would hold, but you made the decision to be a stay-at-home mom and support Joe's career. It was the best decision you've ever made. 5 years later, you are still madly in love and expecting child number two. Joe kisses your head and then Jojo's head. Jojo kisses your belly and turns on Jurassic Park 2.

𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀
Scenario: “How would America, China, and Canada react to a young superpower wanting to fight them?”
Tumblr media
America { Alfred F. Jones } - “Hahah!! You must joking kid! You don’t wanna fight me.”
To put it plainly, America won’t take you seriously and will probably shrug off your “small” threats regardless of if your a superpower or not.
But he still knows better than to keep his eyes away from a potential enemy. [Besides world domination] His main concern is to make sure his citizens are happy and untouched; toiling away with their lives without the threat of war.
You mouth off, then congratulations: your America’s new oil target.
Picking a fight with him personally is one thing, but threatening his people? That’s something he’ll make sure you’ll regret. He ain’t much of a fan in beating down the newer countries, though someone has to teach them a lesson.
Tumblr media
China { Yao Wang } - “Aiyah! You younger countries are so insistent for power-aru. You should just be focused on maintaining what you have!”
*Sigh* The younger nations are becoming such a pain. He already has to deal with America and Russia’s antics on a daily basis and now, a new one wants to challenge him to a fight.
Unlike America, China won’t be as willing to throw fists with you. Instead, his diplomatic side will show and speak out to you. Putting all those years of sweet talking emperors and empresses to use, to make you see how worthless it is to go out and ask for trouble towards other countries.
However, if your still persistent in wanting a fight out of him he’ll humor you. Just don’t say he didn’t warn you. Either on the battlefield, or one on one, it’ll be next to impossible to outwit him.
The nation has lived too long, seen too much, to not know the in’s and out’s of combat. Besides, it was a bad choice already to tempt China’s temper.
Tumblr media
Canada { Matthew Williams } - “I-I’m sorry, why do you want to fight me? Shouldn’t you ask America for this?”
Okay bro. Out of any country in the world—why do you want to physically quarrel with Canada? He’s like, the most peaceful nation you’re ever going to meet. That’s just inconsiderate. The poor man is already dealing with excessive loneliness and then the only time he does get noticed, is when someone wants to fight him?!
Not to say Canada is completely powerless, but still, he’d much rather have a good conversation with words instead of brawls. So please, don’t let your arrogance force this guy to fight you. Canada may not be as strong as his brother, but he fought in World War 2 for a reason. [He kicked a lot of ass during that time period]
Obviously that era of nation against nation is over for him now, so unless it’s purely in a matter of self-defense he’ll be reluctant to partaking in any sort of violence.
~ I actually wrote this scenario a long time ago, but after re-reading everything, I just realized how scary these guys would be if they were real lmao.

I’m Willing to Wait for it. (Part 2)
Aaron Burr x f!Reader
A/N: thank you to the people who read and liked the last part!
————
“So, care to elaborate on what happened last night, Burr?” Hamilton stood by his side, busying himself with something or other in a poor attempt to disguise his interrogation of him.
“I had a good night myself. How was yours?”
“You’re avoiding the question Burr, I can tell something’s changed in you, I can see it in your eyes.” What was it that Hamilton saw in him? Was it despair from the knowledge of the coming battle that they would be outmanned and outgunned in or was it something else entirely?
“What happened between you and the young lady you left the tavern with yesterday? Did you find out who she is?” Burr felt like he was staring down his own death and potential future life at the same time. He couldn’t shake the impressionable memory of Y/N from his mind nor could he distract himself from the battle that she had warned about.
“Her name is Y/N.”
“That name sounds familiar.”
“She’s employed as a teacher for the children of British officers stationed here.”
“Oh shit.”
“So why was she there last night? Too bored by the British pomp and looking to find some fresh American blood to warm her bed?”
“She was just looking for conversation. Nothing like that.”
“Is that so?”
“Alexander! She’s a respectable young lady. I walked her home and that was it.”
“All young ladies and all young men tend to respectable too when they’re out in public. What they do behind closed doors is an entirely different matter.”
“She told me even before we left that she wouldn’t let me stay the night at her home.”
“And since when has that stopped you?”
“Since she bid me goodnight at the door. She knows what she wants, and she won’t settle for a compromise.”
“Smart woman.” Alexander chuckled, “So what do you make of her?”
“Well, she’s passionate about her ideals and witty, very well-read. I really like her.”
“Are you falling in love, Burr?” Hamilton asked bluntly. For once, Burr was struck speechless and when his friend saw this he merely clapped a hand on his shoulder in reassurance. “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to. Give it time, once this battle is over, you’ll have plenty of time to chase her.”
I can only hope to stay alive long enough to come back to her, Aaron thought to himself in silence and he prayed that his time would not be up just yet.
————
“Aaron Burr? What made you bring him up out of all people?” Eliza questioned curiously. Three pairs of wide eyes studied you in anticipation, the tea forgotten in favour of hot gossip.
“He approached me last night actually, and he was kind enough to walk me home. I wanted to know if you know more of his character than I do.”
“He’s a flirt, Y/N. He probably tries his luck with anything on two legs.” Angelica snorted in disgust.
“Oh yes, just the other day, he tried to hit us up,” Peggy piped up.
“I got that impression too, he was unusually bold. Does he send everyone letters too?” Taking out a folded letter from your bag, you presented it to the girls, letting them pour over it in fascination.
“Dearest Y/N, it was my utmost pleasure to have met you last night. It was delightful for me to find a companion in you who I can share my thoughts with openly and honestly. Your charming disposition, your wit and your dedication to your cause have captured my affections deeply and I wish for you to know that I think of your friendship often with respect and much fondness. I do hope to see you again, perhaps at a more appropriate time if it pleases you to do so.
With warmth and affection.
Your friend, A.Burr.”
“This is the first I’ve heard of him writing letters. But he seems genuine enough in his intent. I would still be wary, but you seem to have caught more than just his eye.”
“You should write him back!” Peggy squealed in excitement.
“Do you like him back though, Y/N?” Eliza asked calmly, “you shouldn’t feel pressured to accept his flirtations if you don’t feel the same about him.”
“If I’m being honest, it’s a bit early to know for sure. I enjoy his company but that’s not the same as affection. Between us though,” you added in a low conspiratorial whisper, “I do find him quite handsome.”
—————
The night air, cool and crisp assaulted you both as you stepped out of the bustling tavern. The gentle lapping of the waves on the docks, the silver lined glow of the streets under the moon felt almost too romantic for the moment as you linked your arm through Aaron’s. You’d only just met him, but somehow it gave you comfort and you felt a sense of calm settle over you.
“What made you decide to pursue teaching in the first place, Y/N?”
“Long story short, I wanted to provide more opportunities for educating young women in particular about the world outside of the roles that most are taught to fill within the social sphere.”
You continued on, “There are few avenues for formal education for girls at the moment, but I we should realise that women have as much to contribute as men in all manner of things provided they are given the same opportunities. A woman’s education grants her the power of independence and self identity.”
Burr watched with intrigue as you described the trials and tribulations of your fight for equal education and beliefs. There was a passion that burned bright as a fire when he stoked it and he was drawn to it’s warmth.
“… some men think I’m crazy for devoting myself to such a cause, but if nobody fights for us, who will?” You were curious to see what Aaron would think of such a thing, whether he saw these issues the same way that you did.
“You bring up many valid points, it is a matter that is tied to the very success of our future nation. Half of our population consists of women who have ideas of their own or who may possess talents that surpass any man. But how will she know of them if she is not given an education? I’ve read Mary Wollstonecraft’s A Vindication of the Rights of Woman and I very much agree with it. If I had a daughter, I would want her to have the same opportunities as if I had a son.”
“Ah! I’m glad to know you’ve read it! Wollstonecraft is a trailblazer and at the forefront of the fight.”
“I aim to keep up with the current affairs and besides, it’s something that I agree on.”
“Now it’s your turn, Aaron! Hercules tells me that you were a prodigy at Princeton college and that you were studying law before you joined the army. How did you do it?”
“It was my parents’ dying wish before they passed.”
“Oh Aaron, I’m so sorry. You were an orphan?”
“It was a long time ago but I still remember their faces. I want to make them proud and grow into the man that they would have liked to see me become.”
In the warm glow of lamplights, his dark eyes looked so determined and so gentle at the same time. And though he remained poised and resolute as ever, you didn’t have to imagine what a childhood filled with hurt and loss would have been like for him.
“You’re a survivor and as long as you survive, I think they would be happy.” Just stay safe, and return home after the war. You thought to yourself. He was barely just a man, no more than 20 if you could chance a guess and he had so much to live for.
“You carry the future of the nation with you now, they will be proud no matter what happens.” You decided to say instead.
“I carry just as much as you do in the war. Do your parents know that you work for General Washington?”
“No! Not at all. I want them to have deniability if I am ever exposed. Maybe one day, when all this is over, I’ll tell them the truth.”
For a moment you let the conversation hang in a comfortable silence, enjoying Aaron’s warmth at your side.
“When the war ends, what will you do then?” He mused.
“Well, I want to continue my own education if I can, or maybe start a school for girls. Maybe I’ll even find a nice husband of my own to settle down with. I’ll just have to see which way the wind will blow. How about you?”
“I’ll probably finish up my studies in law and practice it. But I’m sure the nation will need people to shape it, and if the opportunity arises, I will gladly take it. I want a family one day too, but I’m taking my time to make sure I find the right person to start it with. I’ve never had a domestic leaning, but I don’t wish to speak too soon.”
“I can understand that. Marriage is a great commitment to make. I must admit, I never took you for someone who would like to be a family man.”
“Oh? What makes you say that?” He said curiously.
“The courteous answer would be that someone of such ambition and resilience would not bend easily to such a life.”
“And what’s the not-so-courteous response?”
“I hope you have the heart to forgive me for saying this, and truly, I mean no offence in telling you the truth. The honest answer is that I heard that you were a cold-blooded debaucher of young women and I had made that judgement of you long before I had met even you.” You said with chagrin. To your surprise Aaron was shaking with laughter.
“And you were afraid that I would make you my next debauchee?” It all made sense to him now, the avoidance and the wariness that he was met with at the beginning.
“Well, quite frankly, yes.“
“I admire your honesty. It’s not something many people would dare to say to me directly.”
“I’ll admit, that I initiated our conversation today with the intention of seducing you, but having met you, I find you even more entrancing as a friend than I could have imagined as a lover. I can also confidently say that I am no more licentious than any other young man.”
“Ahh, so you mean to say that all young men are as licentious as you?”
“I mean to say that all young men that I have known are licentious.”
“If you say so. I wouldn’t know either way.” You quipped cheekily.
“Have you ever been dissipated yourself?”
“That’s a bold question to be asking, Aaron!”
“A bold question for a bold lady.”
“In any case, I’ve never had the good fortune to fall in love or be courted for that to happen. I’m sure the right person will come around eventually, and even if I am to remain unmarried all my life, I’ll be able to support myself.” You finished resolutely.
“I can see you making a name for yourself whatever you choose to do.” Aaron reassured you, as you arrived at your house.
“This one’s mine!” You pointed happily over to your modest home. “Thank you for walking me home, and given me some much needed the company on the way.”
“The pleasure’s mine. I enjoyed it as much as you did. Will we meet again some day?” There was a tinge of boyish hope in his voice.
“I hope we will.” You grinned widely. “Goodnight, Aaron. And stay safe in the coming days.”
Survive.

I reached forwards and grabbed the alcoholic drink I’ve been sipping on periodically while laughing and having a great time with some friends. Like every night after the Bengals first win of the season, Joe, my best friend and her husband, and me all go to our favorite bar in Cincinnati to celebrate the win, and today wasn’t any different.
The bengals first game of the season which was a home game was pretty much a shutout. Joe threw for over 400 yards and threw for 4 touchdowns, 3 of which were to ja’marr chase. It was everything we could’ve hoped for the first game of the season, so in celebration, we all came to this bar in the quieter part of Cincinnati.
We all sat at a small table in the back together while Joes hand rested on my thigh, squeezing and trailing his hand up and down it periodically, which sent shivers down my spine. As I sipped my drink, I got to the very end of it and then set it down on the table. “Alright, I’m going for another drink run. Anyone need anything else?” I asked the 3 other people at the table who were still laughing at something Joe said a few seconds ago.
From next to me, Joe patted my thigh. I looked over to him with a flustered smile on my face, the alcohol somewhat taking an effect. Damn, I was a lightweight. “I’m good, baby, but thank you.” Joe said and leaned over to me and placed a kiss on my cheek. My face flushed red and I looked over to my best friend, Serena, and her husband jonny. I let out a little giggle as Joe slid his hand up my skirt jokingly, knowing how it affected me. Once I contained myself, I cleared my throat and waited until they both said they could use another drink before I walked away.
As I walked away, I could feel Joe’s stare on me the entire time. Ever since we first met at LSU when he transferred, I was totally taken aback by him. The first thing that drew me in were his looks. Those locks that fell onto his forehead and those bright blue eyes. His body wasn’t bad either. What made me stay was his personality. Before I met Joe, I didn’t know a man could be so amazing, inside and out. I mean we’re talking about a nerdy, Lego and SpongeBob loving, funny, kind, thoughtful man. What more could a girl ask for?
When I got to the bar, I found a place to squeeze myself in and placed myself between two people. After a few seconds, the bartender walked over to me so I put in all of our drink orders and started to sing along to the music quietly, wanting the time to pass quicker. “Oh my gosh…is that really you?” A familiar voice asked from next to me. I raised an eyebrow and looked over to the man before my mouth practically dropped open. “Luke? What the hell are you doing here?” I asked in a shocked tone and instantly wrapped my arms around him. The both of us just laughed, shocked to see one another.
Back at LSU, Luke and I used to hang out pretty frequently. It was never anything more than two friends getting together, getting high, or getting drunk-even studying in some rare cases. Our little friend group consisted of me, Luke, anna who was Luke’s girlfriend, and Serena, my best friend. But, since Luke was 2 years older than me, by the time Joe came along Luke had graduated, which means I never got to introduce Joe to him and the friend group kind of broke up and became Serena, me, Joe, Ja’marr chase, and Justin Jefferson.
“Since Anna grew up here, we decided to move back. What are you doing here?” He asked me as we pulled away. “I followed my boyfriend here after college. When I get my drinks you’ll have to come meet him, he transferred right after you left.” I told him. After hesitating for a few seconds, he nodded and flashed me a smile. “Yeah, I definitely will have to meet him. So how have you been? How’s your writing going?” He asked me. “I’m good, writings been good too. I actually published my second book a few weeks ago. What about you? How has your business major been going?” I asked him with laugh, knowing back in college he had no idea what to do with it. “I actually didn’t do anything with it. I’m a police officer how. I love that I found out what I was passionate about after I spent thousands of dollars on college.” He laughed. I laughed and grabbed the drinks the bartender set down in front of me as was about to invite Luke over to our table so Joe could meet him.
All of a sudden, I felt a hand slide around my waist and looked to the side to see Joe practically hovering over me and Luke, who was shorter than me. I couldn’t help but notice the angry expression on Joe’s face and how he was clenching his jaw. I was about to open my mouth to introduce them but Joe spoke right over me. “Hey, I’m Joe, Her boyfriend. And you are?” Joe said abruptly, giving Luke a fake smile in the process. I looked up to Joe with a glare on my face at his rudeness and was about to say something yet again when Luke talked first. “Hey, Luke. It’s good to meet you, man.” Luke said and held out his hand for Joe to shake it.
Joe just glared down at his hand and then looked right back up at his face, not shaking his hand. “Excuse us, Luke. It was great seeing you again.” I said. I flashed Luke a smile before grabbing onto Joe’s arm and tried to pull him with me, but he wouldn’t budge. Why did he have to be so strong? I could feel his arm muscles as I gripped onto his bicep before I said, “Joe?” In a somewhat pissed off tone. I saw Joe look Luke up and down before grabbing two drinks in his hand while I grabbed the other one and started walking with me.
I scoffed a little bit and stopped walking before we got to the table so Serena and Jonny couldn’t hear us. I turned to face Joe as we both set our drinks on the nearest table. Joe was just looking down at me with a pissed look on his face. “What the hell was that, Joe?” I asked him. Joe looked like I was the stupid one before he gestured over to Luke and said, “What the hell was that?” I looked at him like I was missing something. What was his fucking deal? “Me catching up with a friend from LSU and you being a fucking dick before I was able to introduce the two of you, that’s what it’s called, Joe.” I said.
Joe just looked me up and down while biting his lip slightly and said, “I don’t care what it’s called. I don’t like the way he was looking at you. I’m your fucking boyfriend, not him.” I let out a small laugh and shook my head, taken aback. “What, do you not trust me now or something? When have I ever given you a reason to not trust me.” I practically spat at him, getting even more annoyed as we talked. Never in our time as a couple have I ever been unfaithful. “It’s him that I don’t trust. If you haven’t noticed, you’re the most gorgeous girl in this entire bar.” Joe said.
What reason would he have for not trusting Luke? Could he not see by the way I reacted that we were only friends who haven’t seen each other in a while? And anyways, he overreacted before he even got the whole story. I couldn’t help but laugh at him a little bit. “He has a fucking girlfriend, Joe. Why are you so jealous?” I asked him. “It doesn’t matter that he has a fucking girlfriend,” Joe said quickly and looked over at Luke before he looked even more pissed and gestured angrily over to him, “I mean look at the way he’s staring at your fucking ass right now.”
Without even looking at Luke, I scoffed while shaking my head at him and said, “you’re unreal.” Joe squinted down at me. “So now I’m not allowed to be pissed when a random man is drooling all over you?” He asked me. I put my hands on the top of my head for a few seconds before letting them slide off, shocked at how he was acting. “You are blowing this way out of proportion, Joseph. We were friends back at LSU.” I said. “Why, because I don’t want a man who used to be your friend flirting with my girlfriend and staring at her ass? You’re mine.” Joe said.
“Exactly, I’m yours. I’m yours and you are mine, so who the fuck cares that someone I was friends with a few years ago was flirting with me?” I asked him. Joe looked over in the direction of our table and grabbed my arm gently and moved us a few feet away. While he was moving me, I looked back at the table to see Serena and Jonny staring at us, knowing something was going on.
When we stopped, Joe looked right into my eyes. For the first time during this entire conversation, my face flushed red and I could feel myself getting turned on slightly. Why was this so hot right now? “I do. I care. I am the only one that should be flirting and looking at you like that.” Joe said. I tried my hardest to hide my smile because despite how much I was annoyed with him and his jealousy, he was really fucking hot.
After a few seconds, I couldn’t hide it any more and smiled up at him. Joe glared at me in confusion while butterflies flew around in my stomach. “You’re honestly pretty freaking hot when you’re jealous.” I said, my face heating up a little bit from the dirty thoughts in my head as I admired Joe and his pissed off state. Joe started to smirk a little bit but when he realize what he was doing, he cleared his throat and the smirk was gone just like that. “It’s not funny. Do you know how much I wanted to smash his fucking face into that bar?” Joe asked me. With a little glare, I wrapped my arms around his neck and tried to pull him closer, but he wouldn’t budge. So, I tried to go closer to him, but all he did was back up.
I stopped moving and then stuck out my bottom lip jokingly, knowing one of his weaknesses was when I looked sad. With an annoyed look on his face, he wrapped his arms around my waist, hating the effect I had on him. We both pulled each other in closer so I leaned forwards and kissed Joe’s lips. Not expecting it at first, Joe pulled back slightly and gazed into my eyes before smashing his lips against mine. Joe breathed in the kiss as I arched my back. Joe kissed me back hard and right before we pulled away, Joe bit my bottom lip gently. “Was he watching that?” I breathed out with a smile. Joe looked up at the bar past my head and then nodded with a small smile. “Good.” I said and turned around to look in the direction of the bar with our arms still around each other. My eyes caught Luke’s who immediately looked away with an embarrassed, awkward, and nervous look on his face. I looked away and to Joe while running my fingers through his hair. “Let him be the jealous one, I’m not going anywhere Joey. Ever.” I said.

The World was Wide Enough (leona x reader)
In which you and leona, your own best friend go against eachother in a duel after an arguement.
(Hamilton inspired)
(Set after NRC)
(Tw: mentions of death blood and guns)
----
"Riddle!" You sign in relieve when you see your old friend running towards you with a scared expression on his face, the moonlight casting a soft blue light over your mansion entrance where he entered.
"Y/n. What do you mean you're going agaisnt Leona in a duel today? What happened between you two?!" Riddle grabs your shoulders, panicked.
"Are you crazy?!"
'He's shaking.'
"Riddle, will you be my number two in the duel?" You looked at him with a clear mind you smiled.
"Y/n..."
----
The 10 days before, late at night, in Leona's Palace
"Leona Kingscholar." Leona turned to see you walking angrily through the long hall, "What the fuck happened with staying neutral?!"
"I just did what was best for our party. I saw the opportunity to gain power and I toke it." Leona said in a frim tone.
"Are you dumb?! After all the work we've done to support the king and restore our reputation you go ahead and ducking ruin it?!" Your voice could be heard from every room in the place.
"I did what was best. If you have a problem with that you can leave."
"Fuck you. Fuck you and your arrogant, power hungry ass. You deserve nothing. Every problem our cabinet has ever had has always been because of you."
"Hah, still so stupid and naive. You're supposed to be on my side. My side."
"I won't apologize for doing whats right." Leona continued.
"You only did what was best for you and never throguht about how it could affect anyone else. The king is pissed at us, the people is pissed at us and our own cabinet is pissed at us for gods sake!" You yell, staring straight into his green eyes.
"I'd be careful with your words and apologize if i were you, L/n." Leona stepped forward.
"I stand by what I said, every bit of it. You stand for yourself, its what you do." You breath in sharply, adrenaline rushing through your veins.
"In ten days, dawn at the cliff near the forest. We duel. Guns drawn." Leona's slightly wided eyes are full of anger, his fists clenched as he silently hopes- prays you dont accept.
"You're on."
-----
Leona arrives shortly at the cliff, with Ruggie following him shortly behind you make eye contact with him, but you turn away.
'Im sorry.' The two words you wish you'd heard from him that night. If only he said sorry.
You thought as you returned to observing the view from the cliff.
'This may be the place I die in.'
Every second, every minute passes and the time finally comes.
You draw first, standing facing the view of the cliff, observing the trees and bushes, thinking about everyone you've ever met and a warm blanket of comfort hugs you.
--------
I arrive at the cliff, seeing that Y/n had already arrived I toke off my coat while avoiding that piercing gaze.
'Why. You did you have to accept the challenge, if only you'd just apologized this-'
"Leona. It's time to draw positions"
'...'
-----
"We'll count from one to ten, every time you'll take a step forward, away from each other at at ten, you either fire or surrender by pointing your gun towards the sky." Riddle explained to both of you.
---
One. You take a step forward, still debating whether or not to shoot.
Two. Leona closes his eyes, remembering all the memories you and he made.
Three. Ruggie turns away from the scene, not wanting to bear the pain of the possibility of his two friends dying.
Four. You wish Riddle would count slower.
Five. Leona resists the urge to turn around and hug you.
Six. Ruggie covers his ears.
Seven. Riddle's eyes tear up.
Eight.
Nine.
Ten.
You and Leona both aim up towards the sky.

Bad Day
Tumblr media
I’ve had a shit day so I’m writing about it 🫠
——
Nothing could seem to go right today. One thing after another did not go to plan, made a mess, or overall was just shit. You never liked to bring your work life home, but sometimes you just had to let your frustration out.
After getting to work at 8am, you spilled coffee down your cream colored crew neck, not noticing it until hours later. You got scuffs on your new bag, very visible ones at that. Your head hurt, you forgot your lunch and didn’t have time to go get anything…the list goes on and on.
Getting in the car upon work ending, you checked the time to see the clock reading 6:37. An hour and 37 minutes later than you should have been working. A groan escaped your mouth as you hit your head into the headrest of your drivers seat. All you wanted to do was disappear for a few days.
Driving home consisted of stupid traffic and people who didn’t know how to drive. Many close calls when it came to safety. Your usual 15 minute drive became 30 which put you home at a time when you would much rather be already relaxing.
You pulled into the driveway, hitting the garage door sensor to send it open. The battery on your sensor was dead, imagine that. You put your car in park in the driveway, deciding to not even park it in the garage.
You grabbed all your work belongings and headed for the front door. You then realized your keys were buried in your bag, the one with new scuffs on it. Ringing the doorbell was the easiest option, hoping Joe wasn’t busy so he could open the door.
About a minute after standing there, you caved and set your belongings down, deciding to dig for your keys. No Joe in sight.
You opened the door and propped it open so you could drag all your belongings inside. Everything was dropped in the entryway. Shoes flung off, purse on the floor, keys out of sight again.
Stomach growling, you headed to the kitchen to find even the littlest thing to satisfy your longing hunger. You grabbed an orange and peeled it over the sink, letting the peels to sit there to toss later.
As you continued to munch on your orange, footsteps approached from the stairs. Here comes Joe in his good-day having mood. You were not up for any of it.
“Hi honey, how was your day?” He asked cheerfully, just happy to see his girl.
“Shit. I don’t think I’ve ever had a worse day,” you complained.
“What happened?” He asked.
“You don’t even want to know. One thing after another made my day go to shit and far from any sort of recovery,” you stated, heading for the stairs so you could go change.
Joe stayed downstairs and turned on your favorite TV show. Unfortunately, you weren’t in the mood to watch TV.
After putting on comfortable clothes, you went back to the kitchen to make dinner. A simple air fryer meal was calling your name. Mini corn dogs and french fries.
Joe was waiting for your arrival into the living room as you made your dinner. Once everything was cooking, you poured yourself a rather large and questionable amount of wine. When the food finished, you put it on a plastic plate and headed for the living room.
You plopped down onto the armchair, not sitting close to Joe like you normally did. He gave you a glance, but you were focused on your food.
“Baby, talk to me. I know it makes you feel better,” he pried as you kept eating silently.
“Joe, I really don’t wanna talk about it,” you said as you put another mini corn dog into your mouth.
“Come on babe, please?” He begged like a kid in a candy store.
“Joe I said no. I don’t want to think about it, let alone re-live it,” you said sternly as you got up to head for the kitchen. Joe got up and followed.
You put your plate into the sink and turned on the faucet to give it a pre-dishwasher rinse. Joe approached you while you were at the sink. His arms snaked around your waist and that irritated you, you wanted space to breathe after such a bad day.
“Joe get off,” you tried to push his arms off.
“No,” he replied as he buried his head into your neck.
“I said, get off,” you shoved at his arms. He pulled back with a look of astonishment on his face. You never acted like this when you had a bad day. You usually wanted to be comforted, but not today.
Joe didn’t fight back, he only walked off sadly to go back to sitting on the couch. You headed up to the bedroom quietly in hopes that you could get a little alone time.
When you made it up to your shared bedroom, you headed to take off your makeup and lay down. The warm cloth used to take off your makeup cleansed your skin of the day’s stress, and you took a deep breath.
The day finally caught up with you after you got comfortable in bed. Your bedside lamp was on while you laid on your phone trying to watch TikTok. As time passed, you felt a teardrop come out the corner of your eye. You were laying on your side which sent the warm, salty drop to splash on your pillowcase. Once one fell, a few more followed. You didn’t have one specific reason to cry, but the events of the day had kept stacking up.
You continued to watch TikTok through your clouded eyes, but then you heard Joe come into the room. You quickly wiped away your tears, not wanting him to know you were crying.
He took his shirt off and came over to the bed to lay down. You were turned and facing him, and when he saw your face, he could tell you had been crying.
After climbing in bed, he gently took your phone out of your hands and turned it off, then pulled you into his side. You let out a little sniffle as you morphed yourself into your little Joe nest. You had one specific way you would lay with Joe when you were going through anything.
His hand reached down to brush at your scalp and move your hair away from your forehead. He looked down at you with a slight frown, hating when you would cry.
“I’m sorry you’ve had a bad day baby, can I do anything to help?” He asked in a gentle voice.
“Not necessarily. Just don’t leave my side,” you let out a soft giggle followed by a sniffle.
"I won't baby, and we'll make sure tomorrow is a better day for you," he leaned down to kiss the top of your head, resting his chin there afterwards.
You fell asleep on his chest and let the shit day turn to beautiful sleep.

I started writing this like two weeks ago and its also not good so im sorry y'all haha
