🖊🖊 share about one of your ocs from teardrop please?
thank you for the ask!
i should talk about cinn and mz because they’re technically the deuteragonists of this story BUT… i really like josephine and blaine so i’m gonna talk about them lol.
captain josephine is the captain of a ship called the black rose and is the ship that quill, cinn, and mz sneak aboard to try and hide from (but also confront) quill’s father/his past. they’re pretty quickly discovered and while josephine isn’t necessarily one for instant bloodshed, she isn’t going to let them just stick around for free. thus how cinn and mz become pirates for the first time LMAO and quill learns that being on the ocean doesn’t have to be wholly traumatic.
josephine herself is 👀👀 i may be gay but ma’am i’m looking. she’s in her early forties and has been on the sea her whole life. she’s a stern, cunning, and occasionally ruthless leader but she’s also a fair judge of character and has a good heart. she’s less of a traditional “pirate” how we think about them, but more of an entrepreneur with a pirate’s edge. she makes deals with local ports and businessmen to ferry their goods around the island and to other nations, but she doesn’t mind a bit of raiding every now and again; usually other pirate ships. shes kind of like a robin hood character tbh and becomes a mentor figure to all three of the main’s. she never wanted to be a traditional “mother” but she is nurturing towards those who win her favor and she invests a lot of energy into those who she thinks are worthy of it.
one such person she invested a lot of time in was blaine, her first mate. now, i need to figure out his backstory in this wip a bit more because while josephine’s hasn’t changed, blaine’s was greatly influenced by the story he was previously in (a defunct one with my ex) where these and a lot of other characters across lukewarm rejection, this wip, earth magic, and red death & the oracle’s favor ended up. however blaine is more closed off and distrusting and willing to do a lot of the dirty work on josephine’s behalf. not that she won’t, oh she will. but blaine’s self esteem is in the gutter and he definitely didn’t see a point in existing until josephine picked him up. he’s in his mid thirties and definitely has a hero worshipping attitude towards her. whatever i decide his past is he’s definitely running from it LMAO.

As Blaine drapes his inky overcoat over the back of one of the chairs in the now-empty dining room, Kitty’s eyes flick from his sharp, pale features to his hands. He’s wearing designer gloves. They are not from any flashy house that she’d seen on a million Midwestern housewives and European businessmen displaying their temporary “status” symbols weekend after weekend in Vegas. She has to look for the subtle brand mark, discreetly stamped on the small, gold wrist snap. From the fresh haircut to the well-tailored tux, from the gloves down to the Italian dress shoes, everything about Blaine whispers money.
And she knows that this, too, is by design. Tonight, they’d been among people who cared about this sort of thing, and he wouldn’t want them seeing any hint of street-level common in him. He would only want them to see the wealthy business owner, the power he wields, the shiny front of the empty social inheritance that he is carrying forward in the McDonough name. A name he's admitted to hating.
What an absolute closetful of masks this man has collected.
But Kitty can’t deny that he looks absolutely devastating.
He spreads his hands wide and arches one brow as he saunters toward her. “So…great night, right?”
“What made it great, exactly?” she asks slowly, dropping her eyes to the bar top and scrubbing at it more vigorously than is necessary. Romero’s is a beautiful place, but there’s a vibe here, and she feels it—more strongly even than at the Post. There’s the faint knowledge that the building and its rich patrons have seen their own share of dirty money, violence, and other dark deeds. And the same money that affords them raw oysters and high-dollar champagne also affords them immunity from the consequences of those sins.
Just like The Foreman.
But maybe it’s not Romero’s at all. Maybe it’s the fact that she’s been thinking all night that Vegas might not be a microcosm, and that Seattle might be just as bad as what she ran from. Or maybe it’s the dead body that Clive questioned her about, or imagining that she saw her father in the alley—but panic presses under her sternum, making her chest ache.
Blaine's eyes narrow. Those little lines that have no business being as attractive as they are etch between his brows. "Something on your mind, Catherine?"

CHARACTER BIOGRAPHY:
They say it’s the events in your life that really make a person, that the smallest event can completely change a person. Blaine Anderson was born to the wealthy Anderson family. A family of businessmen, who took their jobs seriously and never colored outside of the lines. They taught him to be everything they could ever want; Someone who wore shades of off grey, suits, and never made a peep that anyone would notice. But he wasn’t like them. Sure, he fit in well enough at family events, and he was able to stay in Cooper’s shadow. (He was the big time, possible movie star brother - everyone loved him and Blaine could never figure out why.) He was dapper and proper and never even cursed, but he wasn’t one for grey, and he liked to get a little loud and excited sometimes. He couldn’t help himself, he was cut from a different mold than the rest of his family.
The first time he admitted to liking boys was in middle school, and his Father started to change. At first, he tried to ignore it. His Mother did too. They hoped that it would fade in time, that he’d realize that he’d just been confused. His Dad started spending more time with him, teaching him how to fix cars. It was like he thought that getting his hands dirty might change his sexuality, but other than that, his parents loved him. The Sadie Hawkins dance during his sophomore year of high school was when everything really started to change for him. He went with his best friend, and crush, and had a wonderful night. At the end, when he leaned in for his first kiss, a group of school bullies saw them and came out and beat them both to the point that they had to be put in the hospital. Blaine was hurt badly enough that he barely made it, but his best friend died. It was all over town, everyone was talking about it, and the newspapers and news stations were buzzing about it. His best friend’s family moved, to get away from Blaine and his “gay disease.” Everyone in town blamed him, and it was big news. The Anderson name was all over the papers, and his family had to move from Beverly Hills to Anaheim to get away from it all. The social stigma was just too much to handle, especially for a boy who was fresh out of the hospital after gay bashing.
With the new slate came a new opportunity, but he didn’t try to use it on his own. He kept quiet, not talking to anyone. When he first heard the show choir at his new private school sing though, he was awestruck, and he had to join at the beginning of his Junior year, after thinking about it all summer. It was there that he learned to embrace who he was, and he came out openly as gay. It wasn’t something he shouted at the rooftops, but it felt nice to be recognized and loved.
But what nobody knew was that after his friend died, the anger inside of him spiraled out of control, to the point where it grew like another personality inside of him. The dapper, excitable, and almost puppy-like Blaine Anderson had a dark passenger; He started killing. The first time was at his new school. Someone wasn’t following the zero tolerance policy and was trying to bully him and he just snapped. He got scared and dumped the body two cites over. But as fulfilling as it was, he wasn’t very good at what he was doing. The heat got to be too much for him, and that was when he found himself at the carnival instead of finishing his Junior year of high school. He had to come back three nights in a row before he finally decided to stay on the last night they were in town.
Touring meant that he was never in one place for too long, and he never left a trace of himself where he went. It felt so good, from there on out it got easier and easier to run through the process, especially after Quinn started helping him figure out how to be more professional about the process. Now he’s more calculated with the way he disposes of the bodies. He drops them off all over the place, scattering them around the nearby cities that the carnival tours. However, the draw to put himself in triggering situations so that he ends up killing or hurting someone again is getting worse and worse.

Friday, June 22, 2012 continued...     The famous Blue Whale of Catoosa, Oklahoma, a Mom and Pop attraction that is just classic Route 66. The 80-foot whale was built in the early 1970's by a Mr. Hugh Davis as the final addition to an existing children's amusement complex, but also as a gift to his wife, Zelta. The big fish lives in a little pond that is a refreshing spot on a summer day, and with big goofy mouth and cool water slides, the site quickly became the old swimmin' hole for young Catoosians. The Whale was open to the public for a time with lifeguards and everything, but closed down in 1988 when the children supposedly began preferring to swim in their own backyard pools. The grounds and fish were left to fall into disrepair.       The site was restored with the help of the local Chamber of Commerce in the 1990's, which easily recruited the help of local businessmen who swam there as children. This restoration story follows the bust to boom pattern we see a lot of on 66, and another piece of 66 history was saved. The old blue fish is in top condition today, and is a must stop for all 66ers. I was lucky enough this day to be given a tour of the site by Blaine Davis, son of Hugh and Zelta.   "The Fine Art photography of Frank Romeo." New top story from Time: President Trump’s Brother, Robert Trump, Dies at 71
(NEW YORK) — President Donald Trump’s younger brother, Robert Trump, a businessman known for an even keel that seemed almost incompatible with the family name, died Saturday night after being hospitalized in New York, the president said in a statement. He was 71.
The president visited his brother at a New York City hospital on Friday after White House officials said he had become seriously ill. Officials did not immediately release a cause of death.
“It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight,” Donald Trump said in a statement. “He was not just my brother, he was my best friend. He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again. His memory will live on in my heart forever. Robert, I love you. Rest in peace.”
The youngest of the Trump siblings had remained close to the 74-year-old president and, as recently as June, filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Trump family that unsuccessfully sought to stop publication of a tell-all book by the president’s niece, Mary.

Robert Trump had reportedly been hospitalized in the intensive care unit for several days that same month.
Both longtime businessmen, Robert and Donald had strikingly different personalities. Donald Trump once described his younger brother as “much quieter and easygoing than I am,” and “the only guy in my life whom I ever call ‘honey.’”
Robert Trump began his career on Wall Street working in corporate finance but later joined the family business, managing real estate holdings as a top executive in the Trump Organization.
“When he worked in the Trump Organization, he was known as the nice Trump,” Gwenda Blair, a Trump family biographer, told The Associated Press. “Robert was the one people would try to get to intervene if there was a problem.”
Robert Stewart Trump was born in 1948, the youngest of New York City real estate developer Fred Trump’s five children.
The president, more than two years older than Robert, admittedly bullied his brother in their younger years, even as he praised his loyalty and laid-back demeanor.
“I think it must be hard to have me for a brother but he’s never said anything about it and we’re very close,” Donald Trump wrote in his 1987 bestseller “The Art of the Deal.”
“Robert gets along with almost everyone,” he added, “which is great for me since I sometimes have to be the bad guy.”
In the 1980s, Donald Trump tapped Robert Trump to oversee an Atlantic City casino project, calling him the perfect fit for the job. When it cannibalized his other casinos, though, “he pointed the finger of blame at Robert,” said Blair, author of “The Trumps: Three Generations that Built an Empire.”
“When the slot machines jammed the opening weekend at the Taj Mahal, he very specifically and furiously denounced Robert, and Robert walked out and never worked for his brother again,” Blair said.
A Boston University graduate, Robert Trump later managed the Brooklyn portion of father Fred Trump’s real estate empire, which was eventually sold.
Once a regular boldface name in Manhattan’s social pages, Robert Trump had kept a lower profile in recent years. “He was not a newsmaker,” Blair said.
Before divorcing his first wife, Blaine Trump, more than a decade ago, Robert Trump had been active on Manhattan’s Upper East Side charity circuit.
He avoided the limelight during his elder brother’s presidency, having retired to the Hudson Valley. But he described himself as a big supporter of the White House run in a 2016 interview with the New York Post.
“I support Donald one thousand percent,” Robert Trump said.
In early March of 2020, he married his longtime girlfriend, Ann Marie Pallan.
The eldest Trump sibling and Mary’s father, Fred Trump Jr., struggled with alcoholism and died in 1981 at the age of 43. The president’s surviving siblings include Elizabeth Trump Grau and Maryanne Trump Barry, a retired federal appeals judge.
Authors Michael Kranish and Marc Fisher described Robert Trump as soft spoken but cerebral in “Trump Revealed: The Definitive Biography of the 45th President”: “He lacked Donald’s charismatic showmanship, and he was happy to leave the bravado to his brother, but he could show flashes of Trump temper.”

New story in Politics from Time: President Trump’s Brother, Robert Trump, Dies at 71
(NEW YORK) — President Donald Trump’s younger brother, Robert Trump, a businessman known for an even keel that seemed almost incompatible with the family name, died Saturday night after being hospitalized in New York, the president said in a statement.

A YOUNG MAN BUILT TO FALL|| flashback para
WHO: Hunter Clarington, w/ mentions of Quinn, Mason, Blaine, and Elliott WHERE: Clarington residence in Copenhagen WHEN: Spring 2017 WHAT: Hunter reaches his darkest hour, and realizes as it plays out that he must make a change. TAGGING: tw: suicide
“You have reached the voice mailbox of - Lawrence Clarington. No one is available to take your call. At the tone, please record your message. When you’ve finished recording, you can hang up, or press one for more options.”

Hunter closes his eyes as the cool metal of his cellphone slides down his burning cheek. It’s a hot day in Copenhagen, 92 degrees at 70% humidity, with zero chance of rain and 3 mile per hour winds. They blow in through his open window and wash over him like warm bathwater.
The Denmark sun isn’t the only prickling heat. In the corner of the room, licking up the walls and devouring the carpet is a whistling fire, deliberate in its inception. Hunter has grown weary of watching it creep toward him, watching the smoke begin to swirl with the motions of the ceiling fan (which is barely a hindrance).
He is unsurprised that he does not feel the first shiver of fear up his spine. He wonders if he would recognize the sensation even if he did. He wonders, briefly, if he should call Quinn. Or Mason, even Anderson.
No. Quinn would think he was weak. Mason would never leave him alone about it. Anderson would... not let him burn, but...
Hunter lays back on his mattress and lets his thoughts drift to the accordion hum of music outside his window. It’s a Commons tune, but he doesn’t mind it so much. He can’t even find it in himself to sneer at the pitchy drawl of the gondolier. “It’s nine o’clock on a Saturday. The regular crowd shuffles in. There’s an old man sitting next to me, making love to his tonic and gin...”
Sweat pours down either side of his face and soaks his hair. A bead sidles past his eyelid and Hunter does not wince at the sting.
“Sing us a song, you’re the piano man. Sing us a song tonight. Well, we’re all in the mood for a melody, and you’ve got us feeling alright.”
Hunter remembers the Drakaina with his jaw clenched. He wonders, with trembling lip, who will receive his shipment on the first Sunday in June, and imagines the Drakaina’s features when he first hears the news about Hunter Clarington. Before he believes it, there’s a smirk, but when he understands, there is nothing but vague, solemn horror, and he looks at Elliott Gilbert, and Elliott Gilbert looks back at him, and for a moment in shifting time, everyone has the same open-mouthed, squinting face.
“Now Paul is a real estate novelist who never had time for a wife, and he’s talking to Davy, who’s still in the Navy, and probably will be for life. And the waitress is practicing politics, as the businessmen slowly get stoned...”
He is enveloped by the dirge, doting on all the small glories of the spitting earth. He opens his mouth to half-whisper the refrain when flames begin to shroud the mattress, lapping at his toes. Hunter quickly recoils with a hissed “Shit”, curling into the only unburnt corner of his bedroom and wishing belatedly that he would’ve passed out from smoke inhalation by now.
“And the piano, it sounds like a carnival. And the microphone smells like a beer. And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar and say ‘Man, what are you doing here?’“
Hunter senses vaguely that he’s made a terrible mistake as he stares into the depths of the flames surrounding him. He presses his spine further into the corner and lays an open palm on each wall. He coughs.
He doesn’t scream, even though his throat is straining and ready. His fingertips start to burn. Hunter coughs. “Sing us a song,” He aches, rasping, “You’re...” The flames encroach on his knees. Hunter coughs. “Aether”.
All of the sudden, a jet of water slices through the growing flames. Hunter watches with growing eyes as the fire is cut down by the engulfing waves until it’s nothing at all but a quiet sizzle. All that hideous power, wiped away in seconds flat. Standing in the lake that has become of his bedroom is the small, blurry outline of a male Shedim.
The boy wades through the water toward his master’s son, with wide, bewildered eyes. He doesn’t say a word as Hunter stares right back, releasing one trembling breath before he is effectively reduced to tears. They are so violent and enrapturing that he wonders if he will drown.
The Shedim puts what he believes is a comforting hand on Hunter’s shoulder, while Hunter’s collapsing body clings around his middle and he sobs into his stomach.
