I want to send a request for the umich boys. So every Sunday they have a “family dinner” where the friend group comes over with their girlfriends and they make an actual good dinner every Sunday night. Readers cooking and her boyfriend rutger gets handsy, so they sneak away and come back just in time for dinner, and just in time for the boys to tease rut about the hickeys on his neck
Get Your Lovin On — Rutger McGroarty
Tumblr media
Summary: In which your boyfriend gets handsy while you guys are cooking
Content Warning; mild suggestive content(making out & hickeys), cussing, established relationships, UMich hockey players teasing Rutger & Reader
Pairing; Fem Reader x Rutger McGroarty
A soft laugh left your lips as your boyfriend placed a kiss on your bare shoulder, “Rut, we’re cooking.” Rutger placed his hands on your hips, “Well how am I supposed to focus when you look so pretty?” You hummed, “Tell you what, finish your task of cutting bread for garlic bread while I finish checking this lasagna and we’ll talk then.” Rutger grinned as he pressed a kiss against your lips, “Yes ma’am.” You grinned to yourself as your boyfriend returned to the other side of the kitchen and went back to the task in front of him.
You had turned lasagna and put it back in the oven, setting a timer in 45 minutes to take it out, when you approached your boyfriend and wrapped your arms around his waist, “So how about we go talk? In your room.” Rutger smiled widely, “I’ll meet you up there.” You grinned as you walked out of the kitchen. Luca munched on a handful on grapes as he watched you whisper something in his friends ear and then magically you both left the kitchen.
The moment your boyfriend entered his room your lips were interlocked. Your hands found their way to Rutger’s hair like they always did. His lips lightly sucking at your neck eliciting a soft breathy sigh to leave your lips, “Rut, as much as I love this, all our friends are here. So we can’t do anything more than this.” Rutger looked up at you and smiled, “This is all I need. To be in my girlfriends arms.”
You smiled, “Keep talking like that and you might be getting lucky when they’re all gone.” Rutger grinned, “You say that like I shouldn’t be excited.” You grinned as your lips attached to your boyfriend’s neck. Leaving small hickey’s across the base of his neck. Rutger let out a breathy sigh as he nuzzled his head into you chest. You grinned at your boyfriend as you laid your head against his pillows, “What’s going on in your head pretty boy?”
Rutger shook his head as he traced shapes on your bare arm wrapped around him, “Just thinking about how lucky I am to be with you. Sometimes I think about how crazy it is that your with me.” You furrowed an eyebrow as you sat up crossing your legs over each other, “Why’s that so crazy Rut?” Rutger blew out a breath, “Your perfect, your kind, smart, hilarious, the easy going person I’ve ever met, you have an energy that people gravitate towards. Also your the most stunning person in the world. And I’m just me.”
You smiled at your boyfriend, “I think you are the most amazing person I know, your considerate to everyone, your extremely kind you’d give the shirt on your back to a stranger if you thought they needed it, you are the most reassuring person I know. You say things that make me melt into a puddle because of how sweet you are. You have the prettiest eyes I have ever seen. Your laugh makes me feel so safe, and the way your looking at me right now, makes me feel like I’m the only person in the world. I don’t know who I’d be without you.” Rutger grinned as he placed a soft peck against your lips.
Rutger sighed as he melted into you, “We should probably head back out there now. Before they get any ideas.” You laughed, “I’ll be right down. I just wanna fix my hair.” Rutger nodded as he kissed you and headed out of his room. You walked into the bathroom he and Ethan shared and ran your fingers through your hair straightening it. You did your best to cover the hickey’s that were prominent across your collarbone. You made your way to the dining room where Ethan and Mark where prancing around in matching aprons Luca had bought them as a gag gift for Christmas. The two boys were tasked with bringing all the food to the table from the kitchen.
You slid into your seat in between Rutger and Ashley, Mark’s girlfriend. Luca sat directly across from Rutger with a smug smirk on his face upon seeing Rutger leaving his bedroom adjusting the collar to his shirt. You guys sat around the table laughing over whatever had happened in the week since you all had dinner together. You had been reaching out to grab your cup when your hair fell to the side revealing the growing purple hickey on your neck, it was only visible to Ashley and Luca, who both decided to say nothing even though they had both noticed.
You and Ashley were engrossed in a conversation about the professor in your shared public relations lecture. Rutger had thrown his head back as he burst into laughter. Luca grinned to himself as the hickey’s planted across Rutger’s neck was now visible to not just him but the entire group, “So that’s where you snuck off to Rut.” Your eyes immediately widened as Ethan walked over to your boyfriend and pulled his shirt away from his neck, “Damn Y/N you sure do mark what’s yours. Mark look at this!”
At the call from his best friend Mark waltzed over and tried to bite back a laugh, “Hold on she has some too.” Ashley moved your hair to the side revealing the maybe two hickey’s on your neck compared to the many on your boyfriend’s neck. Mark burst out laughing, “I knew Y/N had the power behind closed doors.” Your face was beat red as your boyfriend and you burst into laughter. You jokingly smacked Rutger’s arm, “We need to get our own place.” Rutger nodded, “Agreed.”

Untitled. Part two.
[part 1]
Summary: The team finds out about Deacon and his girlfriend.
Note: Reader is a fashion model in her twenties. Deacon and Annie only have three kids. // I'm gonna write such short pieces about them because why not.
Warning: age gap, afab!reader.
Tumblr media
You decided to bring a bunch of donuts to the station, strictly for the members of 20-David. Of course, knowing them, they would share it with the others, but you didn’t mind. It only proved how kind all of them were, looking out for every S.W.A.T. member there, even if they were on a different team. Chris led you and the delivery guy to the kitchen as secretly as she could, giving you the chance to talk alone before alerting the others about the gift.
“So what’s this about?” she asked as she pointed at the boxes.
A small laugh left your lips as you looked at your hand for a moment. “Deac’s been a little tense lately, I assumed you guys went through something rough he doesn’t want to tell me about. I mean, it’s okay, he will talk when he’s ready to share these things with me, but until then I just wanted to cheer him up.”
She rested her elbows on the table, then placed her chin on her hands as she watched you. “And if the team asks? Because they don’t know about the two of you, I doubt you want to reveal it now.” You shrugged, but the look on your face probably gave away that she would be your excuse. “All right, I’m the one having a bad week. But you owe me one for this. Maybe you should take me to a photoshoot or fashion show abroad. Just an idea,” Chris said with a wink.
“Deal.”
When she glanced over at your shoulder, you knew you weren’t alone anymore. And sure enough, not two seconds later you felt a hand on your shoulder for a moment as this person walked past you. “What do we owe the pleasure of having you here? And I guess these are from you,” Street added as he reached out to open a box, but Chris was quick to slap his hand to stop him. “Hey, I only wanted to take one.”
She rolled her eyes at him. “Yeah, right. You take one, I leave the room to tell the others, and by the time I get back, an entire box is missing,” she explained in a semi-real grumpy tone that made you laugh.
You patted the chair on your right to make him sit down, while Chris stood up and left to herd the rest of the team into the kitchen. Until they got back, you got lost in a conversation with Street and answered every question of his about a recent job of yours and a few more about a model that he followed on Instagram.
Hondo, Luca and Deacon showed up a few minutes later, and your boyfriend chose to stand across from you by the other side of the table, the small smile on his lips giving away that he was happy to see you. You explained that Chris had seemed a little off lately and you thought the whole team might need something to bring back the good mood.
This little group of yours began a cheerful conversation while eating some of the donuts, but at one point Luca stopped everyone and asked you, “What was that look?” You gave him a questioning look, having no idea what he was referring to. He pointed at Deacon then began to explain what he saw. “I saw that look you two exchanged. You're hiding something.”
“Yeah, Luca’s right,” Street chimed in. “And it's not the first time he noticed something like this. Remember when you said he was looking at her for a little too long the last time she was here?”
Luca playfully punched his arm to shut him up, but by now it was too late. Hondo glanced over at Deacon with a mysterious smile, while Chris’ eyes were fixed on you. You didn't know which one of you was supposed to say anything, if you even had to say anything. But these people were his second family, your secret would be safe here.
“We… are… seeing each other,” Deacon said after a while, his brown eyes falling on you as if he was expecting you to get mad at him for telling them the truth. So you nodded with a smile to assure him it was okay. “For four months now, right?”
You nodded. “Yeah, something like that.” It was Hondo who asked about the kids, bringing up a topic you still weren't ready to talk about. “I haven't met them yet. It takes time, I don't want to rush things.”
Your boyfriend nodded and shoved his hands in his pockets. “But I've been prepping them for the meeting. They know there's a woman in my life who I love and they can't wait to meet her,” he said with a smile.
“Pay up,” Luca told Street with his hand held out. Upon seeing the confused look on your faces, he flashed a wide smile at the team. “I told him there’s something going on here, but he said I’m just imagining things.” He took the money from his roommate, then walked over to Deacon to pull him into a quick hug. “I’m happy for you. You deserve to be happy.”
A small smile crept on your lips when you saw your boyfriend’s reaction. He knew what Luca was referring to, and you were happy his closest friends were supportive. To be honest, until this moment, you weren’t sure if he had really been happier lately or if it was just your imagination telling you that you made him happy. But if they saw it too, it must have been true.
When Deacon's eyes landed on you, he flashed a smile at you, one you returned without hesitation. You were head over heels for this man, and you thought maybe it was time to put some real effort into this relationship. You slid off your chair and walked over to him, taking his hand without thinking as you looked up at him.
“When's the next time you have the kids over?”
At first he looked confused, but once he caught your drift, he said, “This weekend. Does this mean you're willing to do this?” You nodded and he leaned down to capture your lips in a soft kiss. “Thank you.”
“It's time for me to do this. For you.”

(Thank you for the gif @psychecreations )
Enjoy!
“When’s the first doctors appointment?” Nancy asks, walking up to where you were currently standing at your jobs wait station. You jump, dropping the order pad you had been scribbling in as you turn to find her leaning on the wall.
“What? Why are you here?”
“I was craving chicken and didn’t want to hear Steves kfc imitation. So we decided to come here.” She smiles, rubbing her stomach ever so slightly. “Plus it meant I got to check on you.”
“Oh I’m fine.” You lie, forcing a smile on your face as she narrows her eyes.
It’s been 4 days since the Christmas fiasco, and 4 days since you realized Eddie was leaving. You tried to pick yourself back up the day of Christmas but ended up telling everyone that you were really sick and should shut the party down early. They had all gone to Steves and you were truly embarrassed to think of what they might have been saying about you.
God, did you have to ruin everything you touched?
“You never answered my question.”
“Oh? I was just sick. It’s not a serious bug or anything. I just didn’t want to get you guys sick on Christmas. That would have been bad” you lie again, feeling a coiling feeling in your gut. “Why don’t you go sit?”
“Y/n, girl I love you. But you’re showing.”
“Am not.”
“Are too. Especially in this waitressing uniform.” It was true. Normally the old school 70s uniform fit you like a glove, falling just to your thighs and it made tips so much easier. Right now? It was on the tighter side…… which made tips even easier because your boobs looked great but you felt terrible about everything.
“Does he know?” Nancy asks, and you have to stop yourself from telling her or shove off. After a moment of silence she seems to take that for an answer. “Y/n….. Eddie needs to know.”
“Why? So I can trap someone else?” You laugh bitterly. “That poor guy has already put up with enough of my shit. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go grab tables.”
You walk past her, not giving her a chance to argue as you completely avoid looking to their tables direction and move to your own section of the floor to greet a new table.
Pam, one of your favorite regulars, sees you and greets you with a smile. “You never work Friday nights!”
You always spent Friday nights with Eddie and the girls for movie night. But Eddie ran and you needed to make rent so tonight Max was watching them.
“Starting now I will be. You want your usual babe?”
“You know it!.” She giggles.
-
Steve tried saying bye before they left and you pretended you didn’t see him as you took orders, by the end of the night your feet were killing you and you all but limped inside to where Max was sitting at the table doing college homework with her headphones on.
Either she didn’t have them loud or she was on edge, your guess being a bit of both, she knows you're there and turns to you when you enter the kitchen.
“Thank you so much Max.” You mumble, pulling out the tip money you had set aside for her. “I’m sorry I ran late.”
“No need to pay.” She smiles, pushing the money away. “I like spending time with them.”
That tight feeling in your stomach is back, digging in as you stare at the redhead. She had been part of the reason you chose Hawkins, Billy had (in one of his rare good moments) described the way Max seemed to blend in and find a home here. He told you about the friends she made and how she managed to grow into a brave person and you wanted that for your own. So, assuming she was gone, you moved out here. Little did you know you find her soon enough along with an entire group of people connected to your ex.
You had always been told max was dead.
Max had always been told Billy was dead.
You didn’t know how she figured you out until Eddie told you about VECNA and Lucas told you about his girlfriends sight for things.
“I…. I saw the tickets.” She admits, blush traveling her cheeks as you move to make a cup of tea. The cupboard was still broken and you couldn’t bear to look at it.
“What tickets?”
“You left your folder out on the table. I saw that you were figuring out where to go.” Max admits and you can’t help but tense.
“I just….. I don’t want the girls being surrounded by…..”
“Billy?”
“Yes…..” you admit, still keeping your back to her as you boil water. “And Eddie. I just don’t want them knowing that he left them. They adore him too much.”
Coward. Coward. COWARD.
“I’m not a mom, but I can get your urge to protect them.” Max mumbles. “But what if they end up hating you for taking them away.”
“Then they have someone to blame. I’d rather them blame me than themselves. It is my fault anyways.” You admit, tears springing into your eyes. “Anyways. Take the money, go have fun.”
“Do you need me again this week? I saw that you work on New Year’s Eve.”
“No. You should be going out with your friends.”
“The boys have a start of the year campaign and El is taking a trip with Hopper. I’m free.” She laughs, trying to break the tension built up. “I’ll be here at 2.”
You can’t get the words thank you out because of how tight your throat is, so you just mouth them as she grabs the money and passes.
-
Steve could not stop laughing when he saw Eddie’s face the day he brought the car into the shop, leaning over on his knees to catch his breath as he wheezed out.
Dylan, the other mechanic, kept looking over to watch the scene unfold as Eddie tried to focus on his friends car.
“Harrington.”
“Dude I know- it’s just that your face is so purp-hahaha.” Another fit of laughter and Eddie is debating throwing his drill at him. He was in no shape to be dealing with him today.
Truth was Eddie had barely gotten a wink of sleep, he couldn’t manage to. Not used to not having you beside him, or not having the girls night light and soft lullabies. It had been 5 days since he saw you and he was beginning to lose his mind and resolve.
Almost every night he nearly talked himself into going back, then he remembered Motleys broken cries as they carted him off and the way she clung to your hip. The way she screamed for her dad as Eddie attacked him.
Monster monster monster.
“Gotta give it to Hargrove. He knows how to punch.”
“Yeah well, hope he had his fun.” Eddie snaps, leaning back to make sure he adjusted the part correctly.
“Did you get him back?”
“I got a few licks in.” Eddie mumbles, feeling guilty about the pride that washes over him as he remembers the way he beat Billy's face in. That was motleys dad. As much as he enjoyed hitting him he probably just scarred the Metalhead for life.
“Oh a few licks.” Steve scoffs, moving to take a seat on the stool at Eddie’s workstation. “I know how strong you are Munson. You got more than a few licks in.”
“I shouldn’t have.”
“Why the hell not?”
“Because Motley was right there! She’s gonna hate me forever.” Eddie scoffs.
“Oh you mean more than they already do?” This pulls Eddie’s attention, he had been doing so good about not asking but he was dying to know. What had they said? Were they happy he’s gone? Mad that he fought Billy?
“What’d they say?”
“Not much of anything. Nancy knows something is up but your girl is keeping her lips sealed pretty well. I didn’t even know about your fight with jackass until I saw your face.”
“But you said they were mad.”
“Yeah man, you missed Christmas and just dipped. Leaves a bad impression.”
“Oh whatever. They are better off, I just ruin everything.”
“Oh. My. God.” Steve gasps, looking at Eddie like he’s figured everything out. “You’re self sabotaging!”
“What?!”
“Yeah! You think you’re the bad guy and so you’re trying to run away which is just making you even more of a bad guy which means my wife can stop threatening to shave your head.”
“I….. no man you don’t get it.”
“I do get it. I get it more than anyone else and let me be the first to tell you that you’re being a massive idiot.” He sighs, standing up. “Motley was waiting by that window to spot you that entire day.”
“S……she was?”
“Yeah Munson. She was.”
“I just….. I don’t want to be the one holding them back. I don’t want her to hate me.”
“Did you ever think that maybe Motley chose you? Like you chose Wayne?” Steve asks, watching Eddie deflate before his eyes before turning to the car. “I’m not paying by the way. Consider my advice enough.”
“Ass.”
Eddie spends the day of New Year’s Eve by the phone, fighting the urge to call.
What would he say? How would he explain?
No. Don’t call. This is for the better.
Yes. Call. Just pick the phone just for the chance to hear your voice.
God damn when did life get so complicated?
“What are you doing?” Wayne asks, watching eddie from his spot on the couch. “Quit wearing down my carpet.”
The carpet has been worn down since Eddie had moved in, but he chooses not to comment instead he sits by the phone, keeping his pinky on the handle of the plastic and glaring at it.
“You expecting a call?”
“No.” Eddie groans, rubbing his chest to try and relieve some of the pain built up. God he missed you guys. “Fuck. I’m gonna go smoke.”
He rushes to the back porch before Wayne could argue, hearing the old man laugh as he slams the door.
There is a dog out there when he exits, chewing on a stick found from the trees and sitting right by the fence. Upon looking a little closer he sees that the dog actually seems caught under the fence, like he was trying to sneak in.
“Jesus.” He murmurs, keeping the joint between his lips as he walks up, socked feet stepping on sticks and stones making him grunt out and try walking on his tippy toes.
He looks back with a smile, expecting a giggle from one of the girls at his weird walk before he realizes he’s alone. Shit.
The dog is panting patiently when Eddie comes up, and the man reaches a hand to let him sniff before moving to help. The dog chooses to kiss at his arm, tongue lapping at the skin as Eddie lifts the fence to try and help free him.
“Why you sneaking in pal?” He grunts, bending the fence. “You hungry?”
Within moments the dog is out, jumping up and kissing at his face for being rescued. “God. Motley would love you.”
-
“Shhhhh Ziggy.” Motley whispers to her baby sister, pulling her closer to the corner. The way daddy eddie set up her room was perfect.
He had put her bed in the center which left a small corner by her nightstand hidden from the door.
Over the past week she had looked for Daddy Eddie’s number, finding it sprawled under the label emergency numbers where he had written it under Wayne.
It was so weird that Daddy Eddie called his dad Uncle Wayne. Adults were so confusing.
Before you had left for your shift that night you made sure to wish Motley a happy new year and made her promise to behave. Little did you know that she had crossed her fingers behind her back.
The second you were gone she dashed to grab the closest phone, pulling it into her room and hiding it as Max struggled to cook nuggets for dinner.
Later that night when Auntie Max was reading on the couch Motley tiptoed to Ziggys room before sneaking her sister out of her crib and tip toeing back as Ziggy giggles happily.
“Sissy…” She giggles, pulling at Motleys cheeks happily. “Zigsy.”
“No your Ziggy silly. I’m motley.” She corrects as she shuffles with her sister in an awkward half hold half walk carry until they are in the corner. “Okay Ziggy. Sissy needs your help. You remember the plan?”
“Zigzy!”
“Oh boy…..”
-
The phone rings late, and Eddie sits up in the couch to lean his upper body to answer it, stressed and annoyed.
The stray dog lifts their head, huffing at being woken up and tilting to hear, one ear shooting up. “Easy Zeppelin.”
The dog barks, and Eddie likes to think he enjoyed the name as he picks the phone up. “Munson residence.”
God it felt weird saying that again.
“DADDY!” Motley whispers, sounding scared. Eddie is instantly up, standing on his feet and swiping at his face to wake up a little more.
“Motley? What’s wrong baby?”
“Someone’s trying to get in daddy.”
“Get in where? Where are you?” He’s already reaching for his keys, heart beating through his ears as his hands shake.
“We’re at home.” She whines.
“Where’s mommy?”
“At work!” Fuck. “Okay. Okay. Just hide. Just like daddy told you, remember? If anything happens, hide. You know where Ziggy is?”
“She’s with me.”
“Good girl. Get under your bed or in your closet. I’ll be right there.” He mumbles, calling out to Wayne to grab the phone before booking it out of the trailer.
He gives no time for the van to warm up, tearing out of the trailer park so quickly he’s sure he hit someone’s patio chair, mumbling under his breath a panicked “fuckfuckfuck”
-
The van is uneven as Eddie pulls in quickly, shifting gears to park so hard it makes a grinding sound before he is swinging the door open and tearing out. His feet hit the gravel before the grass as he rushes to the front door, using his shoulder to shove it open harshly.
A scream tears out in to the air at his entrance before a book is thrown at him which makes him yell out at whoever is in the house.
“EDDIE?!”
“MAXINE?!” He snaps, blinking at her. “What the fuck you doing?”
“What am I doing?! What are you doing?! You physco!”
“Motley said that someone was trying to break in!”
“I put Motley to bed an hour ago.” Max grunts, confusion lacing her features.
“You’re babysitting?”
“Obviously.”
“But her car is in the front.”  Eddie felt like he was going crazy. “And since when does she work nights?!”
“Her car wouldn’t start so she took the bus today.” Max sighs, rolling her eyes. “And she needs extra cash. Probably for the plane tickets to get out of here.”
“Tickets out of….” Before Eddie can process her words any further there is a small pair of eyes looking around the corner drawing his attention.
Ziggy moves quickly, coming around the corner with a very excited giggle, walking to him as fast as her little feet would allow. “Da-Ed-ay!”
“Hey there baby girl.” He smiles, picking her up and swooping her into his arms to kiss all over her face. It was odd, just how much he missed this and it seemed like she had gotten so much bigger in the 4 days he missed.
“I swear to god I put her to bed. How did she get out of her crib?!” Max glares, right as the culprit behind it all comes rushing out to run at Eddie.
“I knew you’d come! I knew it daddy!” She giggles, running at him and throwing her arms around him tightly. “You came back!”
“Motley?” He starts, brain beginning to process what she was saying. “Did you…. Lie to get me here?”
“I did!” She smiles, peering up at him with big doe eyes. “I lied daddy! And now you’re here and you can take all my Barbie’s!”
“If you know lying is bad and you’ll get punished, why did you do it?” He asks, pulling her off before squatting to her level. “Metal head, that was very dangerous-“
A gust of air leaves him as her arms wrap around his neck tightly, tears springing from her eyes. “I don’t want you to be mad at me anymore.”
“Motley I’m not mad, that was just dangerous and it scare-“
“No! About Billy. I’m sorry daddy.” His heart plummets, his brain racking to figure out what she was talking about. Why was she sorry?
“No. No I’m sorry.” He sighs, turning to see Max staring at them intently. “Hey max. Think you can take Ziggy for a moment?”
“Sure thing mop head.” The redhead scoops Ziggy up causing the young toddler to scream and kick, reaching chubby fingers out for Eddie. As much as he wanted to take her back he had to focus on Motley.
“Come sit.” He nods his head, leading her to the kitchen table sitting in the chair beside hers and angling it so they were facing. “Listen….. Daddy ha- Well I have been feeling really bad about Christmas Eve. I never meant to do that, or to attack your dad in front of you.”
“But-“
“I owe you a big apology for that Motley. And I don’t know what you’re feeling sorry about, pretty girl, but it’s not your fault and you have no reason to be sorry.” He murmurs, swiping the tears that fall from her cheek. “You have done nothing wrong.”
“I told Billy he couldn’t come for Christmas Daddy!” She blurts, her tears hit against his thumb as he keeps swiping her cheek. “I’m sorry!”
“No no no. You don’t be sorry.” He moves to pick her up, sitting her on his lap with her face pressed into his chest as he rubs his palm over her hair to try and soothe her. “Let’s just take a deep breath, okay? Then you can tell me what happened.”
There’s something coiling in his gut at her tears. Pain, anger, sadness. He truly could not tell, but he kept her close and rocked her back and forth to let her cry. When she finally calmed down enough to talk she started telling him.
“He was really mean daddy. And he kept t-telling me that y-you we’re gonna replace me-“ her body racks with sobs again. “He said you didn’t want me. A-and I was upset! But he w-was mean to you-“
“Easy.” He whispers, wiping her cheek once more. “You gotta breathe pretty girl.”
“He was m-mean. Said mean things about you daddy and mean things ab- I’m sorry! I-“ her sobbing gets worse and Eddie shushes her, choosing to rock her back and forth and keep her in his tight embrace. “And you w-were ma-you were madatme.”
“No no. I was never mad.” He sighs. “Daddy was never mad at you.”
“You were.”
“No, I was just scared. I…. Daddy didn’t want you hating him.” Eddie explains. “I just wanted to give you space. Having 2 dads is confusing. I didn’t want to make it worse.”
“He hit you.”
“Did he ever hit you motley?” Eddie asks sternly, squeezing her a bit in comfort.
“He spanked me.” That feeling in his stomach settled on rage.
“That’s not fair. And you shouldn’t have had to go through that.”
“Please don’t leave again.”  As much as he wanted to promise her that he wouldn't, that wasn’t a promise he could make. You probably hated him, and he would have to talk this out with you first.
“Let’s get you to bed yeah? Daddy will tuck you in.”
“I want mama.”
“Well she’s at work.” He mumbles against her hair.
“Can we go get milkshakes?”
“I don’t know…..” it was almost 10. Then again it was New Year’s Eve and he didn’t want you taking the bus home so this would give him an excuse to go pick you up. “Only if they have chocolate.”
“You already know they have chocolate!” She giggles, and he can’t stop the way his heart seems to light up.
-
It was a busy night, and the smell of the jalapeno nachos all your tables were ordering was making you nauseated and angry. You wanted to throw up, maybe cry, maybe throw up then cry.
Apparently a town next to Hawkins lost power so a bunch of people were driving to this place to have a good new years which meant you were going to be stuck here forever. You found yourself stressing about the bus’ schedule as you dashed to run food.
This is what you had been doing when you spotted him. Running a tray of jalapeño nachos to your table, keeping it a safe distance from your nose as you thought about the fact that you might have to walk, and there he was.
Standing in the doorway, leather jacket and wide eyes, as you caught him looking for you. And he was holding Ziggy.
What the fuck Maxine?!
“Y/n get a move on!” Your manager calls and you snap out of it, moving to deliver the tray as the host seats Eddie.
You hear Motley call out “mommy!” And instantly knew that they would now be sat in your section. Did it make you a bad mother if you admitted you would rather die than face him tonight?
“Mama!” Your daughter calls, making you look over as she slides in, Eddie sitting right next to her and then you are forced to confront this. You should have learned about birth control. Better yet maybe you should have practiced the art of condoms more.
Thinking of all the ways you could have prevented this situation as you gaze at your daughters adorable smiling face. God she was beautiful….. still should have used a condom.
“What a surprise. I could have sworn I left you guys with Max.” You try to smile, avoiding looking at Eddie as Ziggy reaches for you. You grab her gently, bouncing her on your hip and she starts playing with your hair clip.
“I got daddy!” Motley admits proudly, pointing to Eddie which makes you look at him. Your heart thumping against your chest, adrenaline rushing through you as he stares at you with those god damn brown eyes.
“Munson.” You greet, turning back to Motley. “Girls, stay in the booth for a moment. Okay? I’m gonna talk to him outside.”
You walk off after that, leaving Eddie no choice but to follow as he jumps up and runs to catch up. The winter hair hits you, and you immediately wrap your arms around yourself to keep some of the warmth, the crappy waitress outfit doing nothing for you.
The second you hear your name fall from his lips you whirl, slapping him in the chest to push him back. “What the fuck is the matter with you munson?!”
“I…. Give me a moment to explain, please.”
“Explain?! EXPLAIN?!” A bitter laugh splits from your lips. “Look. I get it. My life was a bit too messy and fucked up, I’d run too. But you bringing the girls here is just making it worse. You’re going to get their hopes and it’s gonna crush them.”
“Too messy? Who said anything about it being too messy?”
“WHY ELSE WOULD YOU RUN?!” Your voice raises louder than you thought it would, but you don’t back down. “And I don’t appreciate you talking to my daughters without me. Now I gotta tell them-“
The words ‘my daughters’ sound wrong, and you can’t fight the disgust that coats you as you trail off, eyes widening as he stares back at you with a set jaw. “I just mean….. I get why you left okay? My life is chaos and you were really nice for staying and pretending like it was fine. But those girls…. They can’t know you left cause of that. I was hoping, as shitty as it sounds, that after a couple years they’d forget. Y’know?”
You are swiping at your cheeks as tears stream down your face, trying not to look at him. You catch him moving up, his hands outstretched, but you move backwards so he can’t grab you. “Eds. Y-you should just go. Okay? It’ll be fine.”
“No it won’t-“
“It will. I’ll be fine. I won’t be mad-“ then his arms are around you, pulling you in quickly as he shoves your head into his chest and you get to inhale his scent once more. Doing your best not to outright sob.
“I was the mess.” He blurts. “I was scared, okay? I was scared that Billy was gonna turn everyone against me, and I was scared that I ruined Motleys Christmas.”
You scoff, trying to pull away, not really believing the excuse. Before you can fully move he wraps an arm around your waist, his other hand moving to your jaw to drag your eyes up to his own. “I was scared. I was a coward.”
“But-“
“No buts. I didn’t leave cause I thought you were a mess, baby I think you’re perfect and your daughters are so fucking precious to me. I…. You really thought I was running cause I couldn’t handle it?”
“I just-“
“Y/n!” Your boss calls from the door, looking exasperated. “You gettin sick again? Need to go? Or you wanna get paid so you can afford maternity leave?”
You tense again under Eddie’s touch, stomach curling as you try and take a step back while Eddie’s brows knit in confusion before he turns to glare at your boss. “She’s sick.”
“Fine. Take her home. Just have to transfer tables.” The man snaps, turning to walk back in before Eddie is whirling on you.
“Am I crazy or did he just say maternity leave?”
“Eddie….” You sigh, feeling saliva build up as you panic. He watches you, taking a step back just as you lean forward to puke.
The car ride is silent. Not the serene kind of quiet and more so the anxiety inducing type.
You had no clue what to say to him at this point. Suddenly everything just seemed to….. silly. You’re reaction and his reaction. You should have just called. Why hadn’t you called?
No, he should have called.
You were being a decent person and giving him space and “mama?”
“Yeah?”
“Can I sleep with you and daddy tonight?”
“Ya!” Ziggy yells, making Eddie chuckle under his breath as he leans to turn the heater in the car up. It had been forever since you had ridden in this van, since he deemed it unacceptable to drive the girls around in since it lacked seatbelts or a backseat. Even now everytime he braked he means a hand out to block the girls even with Ziggy in your lap.
“I don’t know…”
“Please! Please please.”
“We will talk about it when we get home.”
Only there was no talking about it, the second you got home with the girls Motley ran to throw away her to go milkshake cup then dashed to your bed quickly which turned into a screaming fit when you tried to tell her no.
The word condom just kept circling your mind as you finally just told her to lay down, she did so and Ziggy soon made her appearance to crawl onto the bed.
Eddie takes off his shoes. Moving to lay with the girls as you turn off one of the lights so the room was dark enough for them to fall asleep, and then you shuffle to the bathroom to shower before bed so you didn’t smell like grease and beer.
It wasn’t even 10 minutes before you heard the door open and shut softly, you turn already knowing he is heading for the shower and watch as the curtain opens lightly.
Normally he would jump right in like he belonged there which would make you laugh, tonight he had a questioning gaze, trying not to over step. You give him a small nod and then the curtain is pushed aside and he dives in, still in his shirt and jeans.
“Edward-“ you warn before his lips are on yours in a searing kiss. He keeps one hand on your jaw to keep your lips connected as his other wraps around your back to keep you close as the water runs over both of you getting his clothes soaked. By the time you pull back he’s already working his way down your neck with kisses as you earn him again “clothes.”
The hand holding your jaw moves to cover your mouth quickly as he peers at you, giving you a fake angry expression that has you laughing. “Do not wake our kids.” He whispers before stepping back to undress.
The jeans take a moment to shuck off since they were wet but the second he is free Eddie dives for you again, showing up just how much he missed you.
-
You sit with him on the floor of the kitchen by the fridge, using the light above the oven as your only source of light while you both snack, keeping cuddled together in nothing but your robes.
Nothing has been said yet, and you were just fine with that, exhausted and happy that he was there. But he has to ruin it, of course he does.
“I’m still sorry.” He murmurs, scraping the cream of one side of an Oreo using the empty side.
“I am too. I think we’re both incredibly stupid right now.”
“You’re telling me.” He blushes. “I just…. There was a time in my life when I hated Uncle Wayne. I had this image in my mind that he was trying to tear me away from my dad. Fuck I just wanted to be with my dad, I looked up to him whether he beat me or not and- the way I treated Wayne and the way I hated him….. my dad didn’t help, everytime I went back with him my mom and I just ended right back up at Wayne’s with more bruises than last time. And when she passed I was the only one there to inflict it. Wayne for him arrested and I swore my world was ending, swore I would never talk to Wayne again.”
“You thought that was what was going on with Motley? That she felt like you were tearing her and her dad apart?”
“Yes and no. I just was trying to prevent that from happening, I didn’t want her to have to experience that choice.” He whispers, picking at the robe. “I just wanted to protect her.”
“She wanted to protect you too.” You whisper back. “That’s love.”
“Billy told her that…. That I was gonna try and replace her.” He gulps, and you stop smiling instantly. “And now that you’re pregnant, and as happy as I am because I am so happy, I need to make sure she knows that I’m not trying to replace her.”
“We’ll make it work.” You mumble, laying your head on his shoulder. “We always do”
He hums out, laying his head on top of yours and sitting in the silence for a moment before you break it once more. “Where are your rings?”
“Haven’t worn them since I got arrested.” He answers, holding up his bare hands. “My fingers were too bruised and swollen at first, then I just couldn’t care to put them on.”
“Eddie?”
“Yeah?”
“Let’s go to bed..”
“Give me five more minutes.” He whispers, turning his head to kiss your own, keeping his nose pressed into your hair.
“Why?”
“I just…. I just want to be near you for a little longer.”
The sun peaks through the curtains, hitting Eddie right in the face which in return makes him groan out, moving the pillow around to try and block it. I’m his attempt to move Ziggy wiggles around, giving a displeased noise that her dad woke her up from sleeping before moving to lay right on his chest.
Motley does not move an inch, mouth wide open and eyes sealed shut, Eddie has to reach a hand out to poke her and make sure she’s not dead.
She wrinkles her nose, moving closer and shoving her face in your pillow, staying peacefully asleep.
You’re sitting at the edge of the bed, and he can only blink at you trying to straighten his eyesight as he watches you zip up your work boots. (For some reason I imagine go go boots with the 70s look. I don’t know guys. I….. I have no clue).
“You going to work?” He blurts, making you jump.
“Sorry, yeah. Max will be here soon to watch the girls. We agreed on it last night before I left.” You mumble, moving to grab your apron.
“I can watch em….” He whispers, staring at you. The way the sun from the window hits you makes you look angelic.
“Okay.” You smile, moving to kiss Motley and Ziggys heads before you move to walk away. Fully offended Eddie snatches your hand and draws you back, annoyed at the shit eating grin on your face.
“Baby,” he whines making you let out a small laugh and lean down to kiss his lips before rushing to leave.
He lays with the girls for a little longer making sure the blanket is covering all three of them before the day truly has to start and he forces himself to get up. Setting Ziggy down without waking her up was a difficult task but he managed, shuffling to the bathroom to change into todays clothes, thankful that he no longer has to wear all the shit clothes he left at Wayne’s when he originally moved out.
Upon exiting the bathroom he nearly trips over Motley, who had been sitting in front of the door. “What are you doing Metalhead?”
“You took forever…” she whines, wrapping herself around his calf which makes him smile. “I wanna stay with you.”
“Okay,” he answers, moving down to peel her off his leg and letting her climb up for a piggy back. “You’re gonna help me make breakfast then.”
“Waffles?”
“We’ll just have to wait and see.” He smirks, walking down the hall as the front door opens to reveal Max.
“Hey. Sorry I’m late.” She rushes out, face red from running. “I woke up a little late and-“
“It’s no problem. I’m here if you had other things to do.” Eddie offers. “Or you can stay and have some breakfast?”
“Sounds great. I’m kinda ignoring the rest of the group right now.” She explains, setting her bag down and following them into the kitchen. Eddie gets Max set up at the table, trying to set Motley with her but the girl wiggles and whines so he allows her to stay.
He listens to Max rant about the group as he moves around to make waffles, enjoying the easy feeling he gets being here. God why did he ever leave home?
“-And Lucas is just always set out to fight Erica. You’d think he had a crush on Dustin and wanted to date him. You know? I get it, your baby sister starts dating your closest friend. A little weird. But get over it!”
“I think Uncle Dustin and Auntie Erica are so cute!” Motley adds which makes Eddie chuckle a bit.
“Lucas is upset because he always thought they were in agreement that Erica was annoying.” He explains, bending down to set Motley down and bring the food to the table. “But it’s been months. Time to move on.”
“Exactly!” Max sighs right as Ziggy comes pounding in with an angry look.
“Alone….” She whines and Eddie smiles at her. “Aweee did you wake up alone? My poor little baby.” He coos, picking her up and bringing her close to kiss before setting her on his lap to help her eat. He already knew she would not be into the high chair based on the way even Motley was clinging to him.
Even now, as she used a spoon to shove waffles in her mouth, she kept a hand on his own arm to keep him close.
“I’m gonna work on mamas car today.” He explains. “I’ll be right outside. So maybe you girls can stay in here and keep Max company.”
“I wanna stay with you.” Motley whines, giving him puppy dog eyes.
“No it’s too cold. You stay in here. Okay?” And then Eddie gave her his puppy dog eyes. Oh yeah, can’t beat dads game.
She groans and looks at Max who smiles in return. “I’ve been practicing my barbie voices just for you.”
“Fine! But barbie is married to G.I. Joe! Ken is the villain. We’re not arguing about it again.”
“But isn’t it Barbie and Ken? Wouldn’t Joe be the villain?”
“Maxine.” Motley warns, slamming her tiny hand on the table.
“Fine. Got it.”
-
It didn’t last long.
Eddie had put on his mechanic suit, trying to keep warm as he took a look at what was going on with your car. 15 minutes in Motley came out wearing her snowsuit and smiling. “Look daddy! I can help!”
“I thought I said to stay inside-“ a laugh breaks out when she takes off the hood of the snow suit to reveal that she tied a bandana over her head like a hat. “That’s not how you tie it. Come here.”
He helps her tie it like his, telling her to sit a little closer to the grass as he keeps working, making sure the radio is on a station she would like as he does so.
By the time you get home she is making snow angels in the snow of the lawn as he curses under his breath.
“What’s going on?” You ask, making him jump and hit his head on the hood of your car. “Oh! I’m so sorr-“
“It’s good. I’m good.” He laughs, letting you fuss over him anyways. He takes his chance to kiss at you before you are pulling back.
“You are covered in car nastiness-“
“You mean grease and oil?” He laughs, keeping you trapped in his arms to rub his cheek on your shoulder. You yell out playfully, still trying to escape as he does so.
“Does this mean you guys are good?” Steve appears, dustin behind him. “Are you done being mad at me Y/n?”
“I was never mad at you!” Eddie keeps his arms around you as you turn to look at Steve, making sure Motley is good.
“Yes you were. I waved at you the other night and you completely ignored me.”
“I didn’t see you wave.” You reply and Eddie can’t help but laugh.
“I called your name!”
“It was a busy restaurant, how am I supposed to hear everything.” You scoff, pulling from Eddie’s arms and flipping your hair. “Come on Motley. Let’s go inside.”
“Just admit you saw me wave!” Steve groans, following you to the door before Motley turns to shove him and close the door in his face. “Rude!”
“Steve, did you just get beat up by a kid?” Dustin laughs.
“It’s Eddie’s kid. Does that count?”
“My kids are great!”
Things took a moment to get back to normal, but that was to be expected.
Eddie found the folder of all your research on places to go, running his fingers over the math you sprawled across the pages to figure out how you would afford it, he promptly threw it in the trash bins outside.
Motley stayed glued to Eddie as much as she could, and in the mornings when he had to get up for work she made sure to wake him up and give him a kiss by the door making sure that he swore to come back before she would dash down the hall and lay with you.
Makeup Christmas happened, except it was only Wayne that was invited and instead of a whole feast you guys ordered a crap ton of Chinese food.
Wayne came over early, sneaking around the back and coming in through the back door which confused the girls to no end but they were excited to see their grandpa.
Ziggy also proved that she learned 2 more words by saying “shit grandpa!” All excited and reaching her hands up for him to grab her.
He howls with laughter, scooping her up and throwing her in the air as she screams in excitement.
Everyone sits around the tree opening gifts, Wayne on the couch with Ziggy on his lap helping her open the gifts. Eddie sat by the tree, passing them out with Motley right by him and you next to her.
He pulls out an envelope that has his name sprawled on it and looks at you.
“I had a plan for Christmas. But I kind of had to redo it. I planned on giving you the stick, but figured since you already know I’d get the ultrasound.” Yoh blush, watching his excitedly tear it open.
It’s quiet for a moment as everyone watches him admire the photo, smiling from ear to ear.
“Anything you notice?” You ask, waiting.
“What do you mean?” He asks, before Wayne snaps his fingers and grabs the photo gently.
“There’s two.” Wayne grunts before his eyes light up. “You’re having twins!”
“Obviously….” Eddie mumbles, “we already knew that?”
“What?”
“The stick? It had two blue lines? So that means we’re having twin boys? Right?” Eddie mumbles, staring at you like your crazy.
It’s quiet for a moment as you and Wayne process what he said before you burst into laughter, the girls following even though they had no clue what was going on.
“Not even close boy!” Wayne cackles as you have to wipe some of the tears from your eyes.
“Does that mean you’re pregnant mommy?” Motley asks, turning to look at you with wide eyes. Your heart stops, going back to what Eddie had told you.
“Yes. Mommy is pregnant .” You wait to see her reaction and Eddie finds himself reaching for the gift he had added two days ago. “Motty. I have something for you.”
He snatches the tiny box, holding it out to her. “It’s a really important gift though. Okay?”
She nods slowly, taking the box from him and opening it just as slow. Inside held a simple chain necklace, but when she pulled it out it revealed that he had hung his mothers ring on it, the one he normally wore on his right hand by itself. “I was told to give this ring to someone very special. It’s from my own mom.”
She gasps, turning to him. “You’re giving it to me?!”
“Well yeah! You’re my oldest kid. My firstborn.” He laughs, moving to help her put it on. Then he snatches another box and hands it to her. “This one is for both you and your sister.”
She reaches for it and opens it gently, pulling out a heavy chain that has a dog tag connected to it. “Another necklace?”
“Well…..” Wayne laughs, flipping it to reveal what the dog tag says.
“Who is Zeppeplin?”
“Zeppelin, baby.” You correct, already standing up.
“Who is Zeppelin?” She giggles, which makes Eddie laugh, picking her up by her armpits to make her stand as you go and open the back door.
The dog, a young little puppy at most, snaps his head to the noise and wags it’s tail excitedly upon seeing you.
“Come in!” You smile and he bolts from his spot tearing up sticks to get inside. Once he hits the threshold of the house he is everywhere. Sniffing the fridge to the chairs, jumping on his hind legs to clean up the high chair where Ziggy left her banana. After inhaling that he bolts to explore more, completely missing the living room as he bolts down the hall to sniff all the rooms.
Once Motley sees the flash of fur she screams in excitement, which draws the puppy back and they both just feed off each others excitement.
She’s jumping up and down, screaming in excitement and the dog starts howling to match her while his butt starts wiggling at how hard he is wagging his tail.
“I am so excited for Chinese later.” Wayne murmurs, coming to hug you as Eddie tries to calm both the noisemakers down. “Thank you for inviting me.”
“Of course, you’re grandpa.” You smile, watching Ziggy from his arms just stare intently at the scene before her. “She can’t tell whether to be excited or scared.”
Wayne laughs, pointing to the dog and trying to help Ziggy see him.
Later that evening everyone sits around the table, Max with you all, as you pile Chinese food onto the plates. Motley keeps showing Max the necklace she got while Wayne keeps bragging to Eddie about his new Jean jacket.
Zeppelin chooses to sit by Ziggy, and it’s very clear that the dog has already figured out who will drop the most food. Ziggy giggles every time she drops a piece of broccoli and he catches it.
“Now we’re gonna have to watch her every time we give her veggies.” Eddie groans. “She’s got an accomplice!”
“Zeppy and Ziggy!” Motley cheers like their superheroes.
February rolls around soon enough, and your daughters biggest catastrophe had nothing to do with the restraining order on Billy, or her dads new bike (which she was terrified of). No. Motleys world was ending over valentines cards.
Eddie had helped her pick them out, little heart shaped cards that you could stick lollipops in, and had sat with her to write in them as you took Ziggy in for a haircut.
The only one that Motley had not written a card for was Troy, and now the morning of Valentine’s Day she was still panicking.
“I can’t write love cause then he will want to get married!” She explains and Eddie nods like it’s super serious. “And I can’t write like, because then he will know I have a crush on him!”
“Glad you can admit it.” He nods and she rolls her eyes. “Here’s an idea! Okay, you ready metal head?”
“Ready daddy!”
“You can write ‘from Motley’.” He laughs, watching her face go serious.
“That’s what I wrote on the others!”
“Exactly.” He watches as she thinks about it before nodding quickly and writing it down, tossing it in her valentines box and dashing to grab her backpack.
“She finally figure out Troys?” You ask, shuffling Ziggy in. “It’s been days.”
“She did. We decided on writing ‘from motley’.” He smiles, leaning forward to kiss you before leaning down to kiss your stomach then Ziggy.
“Stevie….” Ziggy giggles, running to the phone. It didn’t take long to figure out that she would be the one to run the phone bill up, even now she spent every morning learning to dial her uncle Steve’s number. She dialed Dustin once but deemed him “poopoo head.”
“Nuh uh. Come eat pretty girl.” Eddie calls, pointing to her chair. “Zeppelin is waiting.”
The dog, who just a month ago had been tiny enough to lay under her chair, now sat at full height beside it. Still a puppy, just bigger.
Ziggy runs, her little pigtails bouncing as Eddie picks her up by the overalls to sit her in the chair. Now trained Ziggy eats his dog food beside her rather than everything she drops, and if somehow someway some of her waffle drops in his bowl then it can’t really be considered his fault.
“Motley, hurry up baby.” You call. “We gotta go.”
“You good to pick Wayne up?” Eddie asks, moving to grab his lunch.
“Yes. I’ll drop Motley off at school and go and grab him.” Wayne had injured his hip, so today you’ll be taking him to the doctors to see what the plan was while Eddie went to work.
“Okay. And Ziggy is still good to-?”
“Ziggy and Zeppelin are going to Nancy’s, yes.” You smile. Nancy had just given birth to her third boy, and she liked having Ziggy over because she liked having another girl in the house.
“Okay. Tell me how it goes?” He asks, leaning to give you one more goodbye kiss as you nod before moving to say bye to Motley. “BYE BEAUTIFUL LADIES!”
The day had started off so well, you should have known it would only go downhill from there.
Wayne sat in the passenger seat of your car, irritated and ranting about shitty doctors. “I’m not doing it. You hear me? Just give me some Tylenol and I’ll be fine.”
“MOMMY!” Ziggy screams, from her spot on her car seat.
The doctor had told Wayne he needed hip surgery and could not work, which meant that Wayne was pissed and you were panicking about what to do. He couldn’t work which meant he wouldn’t be able to make rent and he would need some help to move around. Then when you got to Steve and Nancy’s she had told you that Ziggy had taken quite a stumble off the table and scratched her chin on the corner of the table.
It was a mess.
Both of them were not having a good day and Zeppelin was howling at their ranting and screaming and as much as you loved them you truly debated crashing the car.
Then you got home to yelling.
Eddie stood in the living room, still in his work attire with his hands on his hips and his eyes wide. “You’re in rare fucking form today, you know that?!”
The response to his question is met with a demonic scream from down the hall and you can only assume that Motley was having a bad time as well.
“I’m not getting a surgery, you hear me Edward?” Wayne snaps, limping to the couch.
“What the fuck are you on now?” He snaps back, looking at him annoyed as Ziggy rushes past crying. “What the fuck is going on?”
“It’s apparently a meltdown day.” You sigh, moving to kiss his cheek and go into the kitchen to make a snack for yourself.
Todays pregnancy craving was potato chips with lime juice and pickles, Eddie watches from the entrance of the kitchen with a smile as you settle at the table and enjoy your snack.
He moves and takes the seat next to you, following your lead on snacks.
“Why is Metalhead in ‘rare fucking form’ today?” You giggle, watching his face pinch in annoyance.
“I pick her up and she gets in the car, right? And then she just starts screaming at me! And I mean screaming. The entire ride home! And from what I gather Vinny didn’t give her a valentines card.” He explains. “God. She was yelling like she was possessed. Then I tried explaining that maybe it was lost and that made it worse.”
“Did she get one from Troy?”
“I don’t know. I don’t think she cares either.” He sighs, rubbing his jaw.
“Okay, we let her ride out the fit in her room. We’ll call Steve later to see what happened.”
“Sounds great to me.” He smiles. “She scared me a little. Threatened to cut her hair and everything. Then threatened to cut MY hair.”
A small laugh tears from you as he steals the potato chip in your hand before looking to Wayne’s direction. “They recommend surgery?”
“It wasn’t a recommendation.” You sigh, grabbing his hand and tracing the tattoo. “I think we need to move the house around.”
“What?”
“If Wayne gets surgery he needs to be here. I’ll cut back shifts at the diner and help him out.” You start. “He won’t be able to use the stairs so maybe we can move our room downstairs which would give more room for the twins cribs in our room, but Ziggy has problems with the stairs and she likes coming in to sleep with us cause of the nightmares but-“
“Easy. Easy.” Eddie mumbles, turning his hand up quickly to snatch your hand and pull it to his lips. “We’ll figure it out.”
And so you did.
Eddie moved the house around, and turned the basement into a bedroom for you guys. Now with more room and your own bathroom down here he could set up the cribs.
Wayne took your old room, and though the man threw a fit the girls got excited that Grandpa Wayne would be living here now.
He got the surgery in the beginning of March, and Motley and Vinny were still fighting.
You spent your days helping Wayne, taking him to pt and helping him move around the house.
Motley and Vinny got put into separate classes which lead to a whole argument between Steve and Eddie about whose kid was the one to blame.
Life was a bit of a mess.
It all came to head at the children's father dance.
Eddie had dressed in a tux, making sure he looked good as you got Motley ready for the night. With Wayne napping on the couch with Ziggy asleep on his chest drooling (a daily nap these two took) Zeppelin follows at your feet, keeping close to you as you did Motley's hair.
“How do I look?” Eddie asks from the door of the bathroom. “I have a date tonight and I’m really nervous.”
“Daddy!” Motley giggles, rushing to him in her puffy little skirt, hugging him tightly.
“Alright you two. Let me get a picture.” You smile, rushing past to find where the camera had gone. By the time you got a picture of them Motley was rushing Eddie out, ready for the dance.
He struggles to find parking, and ends up finding one right next to Steve’s car, rolling his eyes when he sees Harrington fixing his jacket while Vinny reads in the car.
“Harrington.” He greets coldly, fixing his leather jacket and moving to open the door for his daughter.
“Munson.” Steve matches the tone, scoffing at Eddie’s jacket. “Little Munson.”
“Uncle Steve.” She huffs, fixing her hair.
“Really? A leather jacket Edward?”
“You look like you stepped off a Queen music video, Steven.” Eddie snaps, holding out his hand for Motley. Fighting or not they wait at the front of the car for Steve and Vinny. Walking into the dance together.
“I’m surprised that they even let you in here. Your child is a danger to society.” Steve snaps as they wait in line for tickets.
“Let’s talk about your kid giving everyone but my sweet Angel a valentines card. That’s barbaric.” Eddie defends, watching Motley wave to her friends.
“He didn’t want to. And I don’t need to tell him what to do.” Steve blushes, turning to look at something to avoid looking at Eddie.
“There it is again. You’re acting so fucking suspicious about that card, man.” Eddie points at him, silver rings glinting in the light. “Tell me what you know.”
“Tickets?” The poor woman asks, interrupting their stand off.
“Yes please. Four.”
“No two. I’ll get my tickets.”
“No I’ll get them”
“You’re not buying me ,Steven.”
“He’s buying me.” Motley smiles, snatching the money from Steve’s hands and setting them on the table before grabbing two tickets. “Let’s go get some pop, daddy.”
Eddie can do nothing but follow, letting the little lady lead the way.
After about an hour of Motley showing him everything and introducing him to all her friends she abandoned him to hang out with some of the girls in her class, making sure Eddie was okay where he sat at an empty table nursing a can of soda.
It felt like high school again, watching the way all the other dads surrounded Harrington as the pta moms that decorated huddled together and giggled in the corner. At least the kids were having fun.
Eddie wished you were here, you would be sitting with him.
“Jesus. Gary never shuts up.” Steve mumbles, snapping Eddie out of his train of thought. “I got you a slice of pizza.”
He sets the slice down, giving Eddie a weird smile as he scarfs down his own slice. But eddie wasn’t very hungry, instead he surveyed to check on motley and see her giggling with all her friends as they dance in a circle.
“Your kid has been sitting alone, you gonna help?” Eddie asks, looking to where Vinny sits reading a book.
“I tried earlier. He just said something about me embarrassing him more.” Steve sighs. “Then complained that I ruin everything.”
“What happened? I’ve never seen him alone at a party.”
“Have I not told you? Your daughter is the popular one. They made her move classes and he was left in their old class struggling to make friends.” Steve mumbles.
“Why don’t you get one of the many dads following you around to get their kids over there? It feels like I’m in highschool again, waiting for your cronies to shove me in the bathrooms and lock me in again.”
“How long were you in that bathroom, again? Two hours?”
“Three.” Eddie sighs. “I smoked and set off an alarm so the principal found me.”
“Sorry.”
“Wasnt one of your worst. I was fine.” Eddie shrugs. “Sorry about Vinny.”
“I have faith.” Steve sighs, leaning back in his chair. “I also cannot believe I’m at a daddy daughter dance.”
“It’s a father kid dance?”
“They didn’t want the boys feeling left out.” Steve explains.
“I see.” Eddie smiles, picking at the pizza.
“He wrote one. You know?”
“Sorry?”
“Vinny wrote one. He wrote a valentine for Motley and got her a big chocolate bar. But a girl made fun of him in the parking lot and he panicked.” Steve explains. “Ripped it up and left the chocolate on my car to melt on the seats.”
“I can clean that.”
“You can?!”
“Oh yeah. I got you Harrington.” Eddie laughs right as another dad comes to the table.
“Howdy gentleman.” He smiles, sitting down. Eddie has to blink to recognize, holy shit that’s Tommy. “Oooo. I’m sitting at the hellfire table. So scary…”
“Do you have a kid here…?” Steve asks, blinking slowly.
“Yeah.” He slurs, pointing to the young kid stuffing his face with marshmallows.  “You guys want some whiskey?”
“Jesus. I smell it from here man.” Steve snaps, standing up.
“I’m driving. Hard pass.” Eddie laughs, standing with Steve.
“It’s so weird to me that you two are friends! That shit is like….. mind flowing!”
“Blowing.” Steve corrects and Eddie sighs. “Damn it Harrington. It was a trap.”
“Blowing is more for you guys, if you know what I mean.” Tommy laughs and Eddie shakes his head.
“How did you fall for that Harrington? You made that line.” Eddie grumbles, moving to find Motley. “Hey Metalhead?”
“Yeah daddy?” She asks, coming up with her cheeks bright red from all the dancing.
“Have you eaten?” He asks, offering her a bite of his pizza before looking back over to Vinny. “Think you can go help him out?”
“Yeah. I guess.” She sighs, kissing his cheek and rushing to find Vinny and bring him out to dance.
By the end of the night Eddie has danced to about every little pop song she wants, and by the time he is bringing her to the car it’s more of a carrying her situation as Steve tries to trip Vinny up.
“Have a good night Harringtons.” Eddie laughs.
“Sleep tight Munsons.”
“Shouldn't you be in bed?” Eddie asks, peering up at you over his book as you shuffle and pace around the room.
“Shut up.” You grunt, waving your hand at him. Your face is pinched up and Eddie finds himself sitting up and staring at you.
“What’s going on here?”
“Edward shut UP!” You snap, pacing back to the wall and holding your hands against it to try and breathe in. “Sorry. Sorry that was mean.”
“Are you in pain?” He mumbles, standing up and putting on his slippers.
It was your ninth month, and Eddie was anxious because he had never experienced the pregnancy part of it all before so every kick and movement made him worried.
“Eddie. Edward. Eds.” You grunt out, and right there something trickles down your leg.
“Did you just pee?”
“EDWARD!”
(Would you guys want me to keep going? I have more ideas {Especially Motley in high school} Feel free to message me if you want me to keep going or if you have any blurbs or requests for them in mind)

Luca drank out of his beer can while talking to Luke and Johnny. “I swear Luca, you're an absolute beautician! This place looks incredible.” He had been responsible for decorating the whole house, getting multiple party games set up, and pushing the couches out of the way to create more space.
He shrugged while chuckling, “What can I say? I did it for the boys.” That’s when he looked over and saw you enter the party with your friends. You looked lost and nervous as you followed them. “I’ll be back, boys,” he said as he patted Johnny’s chest and rushed over to you.
Your friend-group watched as the male rushed over with a wide smile on his face. They had been suspecting something was going on between you, but the two of you kept denying it. “Y/N! You came!” He smiled brightly.
You looked over at him as a small smile formed on your face. “Hey!” Your friend group parted a way down the middle so you could see Luca. They looked at each other knowingly before rushing off to leave you two alone. You looked back and saw them run off. “Guys!” you yelled. You followed it up with a sigh and looked back at Luca. “Well, shit.”
Luca saw this as an open opportunity to hang out with you. “Well, you can hang out with me and my friends if you’d like,” he suggested. You knew a couple of the players on the hockey team. For example, you knew Ethan and Mark. “I’m pretty sure Adam and Nolan are about to start a game of beer pong. I could use a partner.” He nudged you with his elbow.
You giggled, faintly blushing at the small contact. “Sure.” This was the first game of beer pong you’ve played, the only time you played anything close to it was on Game Pigeon with your friends.
“You wanna get a drink before we start?” he asked as the two of you walked through the crowded hall.
You tucked some strands of hair behind your ear. “Yeah, I would like that.” He led you to the kitchen right where he left Luke and Johnny.
“Johnny! Luke! This is Y/N,” he said as he gestured to you. You sheepishly waved at the two of them.
Johnny smiled, “‘Sup, Y/N. Luca, this the girl you were talking about?”
Luca’s heart dropped when he said that. “Uh, yeah. She is.”
Your cheeks flushed at his answer. He talked about you to his teammate? Was it like bad stuff? Was it good stuff?
He nodded his head, looking back at you. “I know you from somewhere…” He stared at you for a second while squinting his eyes. “You work at that Starbucks by the barn.”
Your eyebrows furrowed as a smile slipped on your face. “The barn?”
Luke laughed, wrapping his arm around the male. He was obviously drunk. “He means do you work at the Starbucks by the Ice arena.” He laughed.
“Ohhh,” you smiled. “Yeah, I do!”
Luca then turned to you, “So we have White Claws, Coors Light, Bud Light, Whiskey, Vodka for shots, that type of stuff.”
You hummed in thought, you wanted to keep it chill since you were about to play beer pong. “I’ll just take a watermelon White Claw.” He grabbed it out of the cooler and handed it to you.
You cracked open your can and looked over at Luca. “You ready?” he asked. You nodded and followed him outside. The loud music winded down the further you got to the backyard doors. There were people in the pool and dancing around the backyard.
Adam and Nolan were standing there laughing amongst each other as you and Luca approached. Adam then turned his attention to Luca and smiled wide, “Got your partner?”
He smiled, “Yup!” He then turned to you.
You had hung out with Adam a couple times, but only with Luca. “Of course it’s Y/N,” Adam laughed then looked at Nolan. “This kid is obsessed with her.” This caused Nolan to laugh.
“I don’t think we’ve formally met, I’m your future father in law,” Nolan joked as he held out his hand. You stared at it before taking it and shaking it.
Luca’s cheeks flushed red as he attempted to laugh it off. “Dude, shut up!” He rolled his eyes. He snuck a glance at you and saw you were blushing hard.
He couldn’t make out if you were blushing because of embarrassment or if you were flustered. Whatever, that didn’t matter right now. “Let’s start!” Luca yelled, getting on your guys' end of the table.
There were 10 red solo cups filled with beer, 2 out of those 10 cups had a white ping pong ball floating in them. “I’m going against you,” Adam pointed straight at Luca.
Nolan looked at you and shrugged, “Guess I’m going against you.”
Luca grabbed one of the ping pong balls out of the cup and you grabbed the other. “You wanna go first?” he asked you.
“Uh, sure.” You looked straight ahead at the cups and stared at the one in the middle. You tossed it and it hit the rim of the cup before bouncing off the table. Nolan caught the ball and chuckled.
Luca then shot his ping pong ball and made it into one of the cups on the right end. He cheered and held up his hand for a high five. You laughed at how excited he was and accepted his high five. “Drink up!” he yelled to his brother.
Adam rolled his eyes, “Whatever.” He grabbed the cup, taking out the ball before he chugged the beer. He wiped away the liquid that spilled onto his chin with the sleeve of his hoodie and glanced over at Nolan.
Nolan tossed the ball and it landed straight into the cup in the front. He cheered loudly and gave Adam a fist bump. You got the ball out of the cup and placed the cup up to your lips.
You started chugging the beer, it burned as it went down your throat. When you finished, your face scrunched as a reaction. “Shit!” You crushed the cup and tossed it.
This won a laugh out of all the guys before Adam shot it. It landed in the cup in the middle and he whooped victoriously. Luca rolled his eyes and chugged the beer. You watched as his Adam's apple bobbed while he chugged. Weirdly, something about it was attractive. Maybe it was because he was attractive.
Luca tossed the cup and looked over at you, he caught you staring. That meant a moment of eye contact which you quickly broke. You tried to focus your mind back on the game, but it was hard. You tossed the ball, but again you missed. You muttered your breath, “Shit.”
Luca then tossed his, barely making it into the cup. “Yes!” He sprung with excitement as he held up his hand again for a high five.
You clapped your hands before accepting his high five again. “Luca’s really carrying your team over there,” Nolan teased.
You rolled your eyes, “I’m better at this on the phone!”
Luca smirked, snapping his fingers and pointing at you. “That is true.”
Nolan took a shot and scored it into the cup. He pumped his fist and smiled as Adam wrapped his arm around him, patting him on the chest. You grabbed the cup and started drinking again.
This time, you were used to the taste so it didn’t hurt as much going down. You tossed the cup aside and looked up at Luca. “I forgot to tell you,” he winced. “He’s been doing this for years. He’s a senior.”
“Well, that’s great to know.” You rolled your eyes. “At least he’s not going easy on me.”
Luca chuckled before he looked over at his brother who just let go of Nolan and got prepared to toss the ball. He squinted his eyes, assessing the target cup. He tossed it and missed it by a hair. “Fuck!” he yelled. “That should’ve gone in!”
“If there was a cup there, maybe it would’ve.” You laughed before taking a sip of your White Claw.
Nolan laughed as well, “Damn, bro! Y/N got some fire in her!”
Luca laughed as well, seeing his authentic smile made your heart do cartwheels as a smile spread on your face. You looked back at the arranged cups and focused on the one in the middle again. You tossed the ball and made it in. “Yes!” You jumped up with excitement.
“Holy shit!” Luca gasped and looked down at you. “Your first college beer pong goal!” Nolan grabbed the cup and took the ball out. He took the drink of shame while Luca hugged you. His arms held you tight before he lifted you off the ground.
“Woah! Careful!” you exclaimed while giggling. “You’re gonna crush me!”
Luca laughed and set you down. “Sorry! Sorry!”
Nolan tossed the cup aside and smiled. “Nice job,” he said.
Adam smiled, “Yeah. I’m impressed.”
Tumblr media
You guys lost the game mostly because of Nolan. All those beers on top of the White Claw made you feel the buzz. “Luca! Let’s go do shots!” You smiled widely and grabbed his hand, dragging him inside.
When you got inside, you heard music blasting throughout the house. You lead him towards the kitchen where everyone else was.
Mark was taking shots with Ethan with your friends. Your friend, Lilah, looked over and saw you and Luca holding hands. You were clearly tipsy from the game of beer pong. “Woah, Y/N!” she laughed. “You are fucked up, how much have you drank?”
You laughed, “Well, we just lost a game of beer pong. I’m really feeling the buzz.” You looked over at Mark.
Mark was smiling wide, “Hey, Y/N.” He ran his fingers through his hair.
“Hey,” you smiled wide. “Shall we take shots?” It was tradition for you and Mark to take shots together. You guys did that at every high school party, now it was your first college shot.
He laughed, “You know it!” He poured Vodka into a shot glass and slid it over to you. “To your first college party, your first beer pong game, and your first college shot!” He held up the glass. You held up yours and clinked it against his. You then downed the shot and slammed the glass back on the table.
You let out a loud whoop in response and threw your hands up. “This is so much fun!” you cheered as you looked back at Luca. “Thank you so much for the invite.”
Luca looked down at your smile and felt his heart melt. You looked so innocent, even when you were drunk. “Yeah, of course.” He grinned, his dimples showing. He reached his arm out and wrapped it around you, pulling you closer “Anytime!”
Tumblr media
The two of you were in the kitchen with Rutger, Dylan, and Adam. You shook your head and gagged. “Fuck,” you muttered and quickly hopped off the kitchen counter.
You rushed to a bathroom and flung the door open. You immediately slammed the door shut and hunched over the toilet. You threw up loudly, tears stinging your eyes as you continuously threw up for 10 seconds.
Finally, you stopped. You leaned back and sighed. You reached out and flushed the toilet. “Fuck…” A faint knocking was heard at the door. You yelled out, “Occupied!”
“It’s just me,” Luca’s voice was muffled.
You sighed. You looked back at the toilet as you said, “Come in.” You felt ashamed as he opened the door. You glanced over and saw him with a bottle of water.
He shut the door and sat down next to you. “How you feeling?” he asked as he ran his fingers through your hair.
His fingers grazed through your scalp gently. He looked up at your forehead before meeting your eyes again. “My head hurts, I feel hot, and I just puked my guts out.” You answered.
He chuckled, “Wait ‘til tomorrow.” You scoffed and grabbed the water from you. You took a couple sips and just chilled on the bathroom floor. “This is my fault,” he sighed. “I shouldn’t have let you drink so much.”
“You didn’t do anything wrong except not tell me Nolan was the reigning champion of beer pong,” you joked, the both of you laughing in response. You took some more sips of water.
You started gagging again. Luca quickly got up from his spot and got behind you. He held back your hair as you threw up in the toilet again. This time it wasn’t as violent, but it still was a lot. You backed up and flushed the toilet.
You wiped your mouth as you groaned loudly. He sat back down to where you could see his face. You looked over at him and frowned. “This isn’t gross to you or anything?”
“I live in a frat house with 10 other hockey players,” he laughed. “Nothing’s grosser than that.”
You laughed again. You fixated on his pearly whites, those were rare for hockey players. “Luca,”
you said in a low voice. “This is why I like you. You know how to make me feel better.”
He shrugged, “What can I say? I’m a professional people pleaser”
After a few minutes, your stomach settled and you felt a little tired. “Hey, Luca?” you said as you looked over at him. His head perked up, he transferred his gaze over to you as his eyebrows raised. “Do you wanna… maybe… I don’t know, find a breakfast spot tomorrow?”
He smiled, “Like a date?”
Your cheeks turned bright red. “I don’t know, maybe.” Your heart started beating faster. If it wasn’t for the amount of alcohol you drank, you would’ve never asked him out. He made you feel comfortable by protecting you and making sure you were fine. This made you feel vulnerable.
He nodded and placed his hand on yours. “I’d love to do it.” His voice was so quiet that you could barely hear it over the sound of the music.

Where's The "Talk"?
Based on a prompt from @samcoxramblings. I hope this meets your expectations! Please leave your thoughts in the comments and if you have any more angsty prompts, send them my way!
~*~*~*~
After coming out to the Party, Eddie and Steve were on their toes for days just waiting for someone to give them the ‘Talk’. They were amped up, prepared to receive loads of various threats ranging in creativity and snipe. But the days came and went and no one mentioned anything. Anytime Eddie would mention expecting a shovel talk to protect their babysitter, the kids awkwardly looked between one another before changing the subject. When Steve mentioned to Robin and Nancy that no one had warned him against hurting Eddie yet, they just rolled their eyes and ignored him. Neither man knew what the Party was waiting for.
After a week, Eddie loses his patience and asks the kids at their Hellfire session. “Okay guys, what gives? Where are the outlandish threats of violence, the creative insults about my character, the whole shabang? I’ve been on the edge of my seat for fucking days.”
“Eddie, what the hell are you talking about?” Dustin asked him, sounding puzzled.
Eddie snorted a sound of frustration. “The shovel talk! Steve and I told you that we were dating a week ago and no one has said anything! Is this a gay thing? Are you too scared of being homophobic to say anything? I can take it!”
The kids looked uncomfortable but Mike spoke. “Look man, we just don’t want to waste our time. You and Steve aren’t going to last. I mean, look how different you guys are! You’re awesome, you DM for Hellfire, and you’re in a band. What does Steve do? He works at Family Video all day and sure, he looks kinda good without a shirt on, but he has nothing else going for him!”
Lucas and Dustin looked at him in confusion before Dustin cleared his throat. “Eddie, we know you’re not going to hurt each other. You’re both our big brothers and you’re not actually dating. Steve likes girls! I’m sure he’s just looking for a way to let you down easy. I’m sorry, man.”
Meanwhile, Eddie looked at them indifferently. He couldn’t believe that these little assholes would say that to him and at a DnD session no less! He whipped his head to look at the original Hellfire members only to find Gareth, Jeff, and Grant looking shellshocked.
“Do you boys feel the same way?” He asked them, his eyes flashing dangerously.
Jeff shook his head slightly, “no way, man. We just don’t know Steve well enough to give him a talk. You know we’ve always supported you, if you want us to threaten him a little, we can.”
“Yeah, we’ll threaten the socks off of him!” Grant nodded. Gareth though just continued glaring at the kids.
Eddie nodded, it seemed there was a division of true friends and posers around the table. If his little sheep didn’t want to believe he and Steve would last, he’d show them. He and Steve were for life. Eddie was like a parasite, a viral STD if you will. Once you got him, you were stuck with him forever.
“Well, thank you for sharing your opinion. Does anyone else feel that way?” He asked them. Did the rest of the Party share the same views? He desperately needed to know.
Lucas nodded slowly, “well, yeah. Hopper says you guys are only seeing each other because you’re trauma-bonded and Robin said that it doesn’t mean anything anyways.”
Eddie chuckled sardonically. Oh so, the entire Party was against them? Fine, he didn’t need to be a part of the group that tore his life apart anyways.
“Alright, Hellfire’s disbanded. Get your stuff and get out. Corroded Coffin, we’ll continue the campaign as a three-piece on Thursday before band practice. I’m going to go see Steve, the guy I’m in a relationship with. You know, the one that ‘doesn’t mean anything’ since we’re ‘too different’ and ‘trauma-bonded’ and ‘waiting to get let down easy’? Go fuck yourself and fuck your precious Party too.” And with that, Eddie stormed out.
He drove straight to Family Video and was ashamed to find that frustrated tears had started leaking from his eyes. He couldn’t believe this. After all they’d gone through together with the Upside Down and psychic killers and murder accusations, being in a relationship with Steve was the tipping point? Absolutely ridiculous. He darted into the video store and didn’t even slow his stride as he threw his arms around Steve where he was talking to a customer.
“What the- Eddie? Hey, what’s going on? Are you okay?” He asked him before turning back to the customer. “I’m sorry, could you talk to Robin over at the counter please? Have a nice day.”
Steve gently herded him into the employee lounge and pressed his teary face into the crook of his neck. “Eds, hey, what happened?”
“I’m so sorry, Stevie. I never should’ve said anything!”
“About what? What’s going on? Weren’t you supposed to be playing DnD today with the kids today?” Steve asked him. He wiped the tears from underneath Eddie’s eyes and rested a hand on the back of his neck for comfort.
“I asked the kids why we hadn’t gotten a shovel talk from anyone yet before we even started. They said that no one in the Party thinks we’re going to last. Hopper thinks we’re trauma-bonded, Mike doesn’t think we’re fucking compatible, Dustin thinks you’re faking it, and Robin thinks we’re not serious. They’re not interested in ‘wasting their time’ giving us a talk.”
Steve blinked in surprise before his face hardened. “We don’t need their acceptance or their approval. We know they’re wrong and that’s what matters. We don’t even need a talk from them. Fuck ‘em! We can give ourselves a shovel talk if our good-for-nothing-friends can’t do it!”
“Steve-”
“I’m serious, who gives a shit about their opinions? Who are they to judge? Dustin’s dating a girl over the radio that lives in goddamn Utah or some shit. Lucas can’t judge because Max broke up with him again for like the tenth time this month. Mike’s only girlfriend was a girl he found in the woods that didn’t know any better than to date him. Robin’s never even been in a relationship so she can’t judge us for having one. And Hopper is 100% going to be in the doghouse after I tell Joyce about what he said. Fuck what they have to say.”
“But Stevie, how are we going to give one to ourselves? That doesn’t even make sense,” Eddie told him gently.
“Fine, then we’ll give one to each other. Eddie, if you break my heart, I’m going to give Wayne adoption papers and take your last name whether you want me to or not.”
Eddie sputtered, “what the fuck? What kind of talk is that? You’re supposed to threaten me with physical harm, not whatever mindfuckery that was!”
“Don’t belittle my shovel talk! Like you could do any better,” Steve scoffed at him.
“Oh yeah? Steve, if you break my heart then I’m going to break your kneecaps so you can’t leave until I win you back. And if I break your heart, I’m going to finish what the bats started.”
“Jesus fucking Christ, Eddie! Are you okay? That’s fucking violent!” Steve yelled.
“That’s the point!” Eddie screamed back.
“No it’s not!”
“Yes it is, you’re supposed to threaten to hide the body with a shovel,” Eddie said like it was obvious.
“Dingus, stop talking to Eddie and get back to work. We have a line,” Robin said exasperatedly, poking her head into the back room.
“We’re giving each other shovel talks since you losers wouldn’t do it. You know, since this means something. I’ll be out when we’re done with that,” Steve told her bitchily.
“Fuck off Buckley,” Eddie hissed venomously. Robin looked shocked at his mutiny but backed away regardless.
Steve stared at the door for a moment but Eddie drew his attention back to himself with a whispered, “if you don’t hurt me, I’ll help you hide a body.”
Steve cackled and murmured back, “you already were accused of murder once, you need to stop being so violent!”
They continue to date until marriage is legalized in the state of Illinois, where they move shortly after they deliver their truly remarkable shovel talks. As payback, they get a marriage certificate at the courthouse and don’t invite anyone from the Party to act as witnesses. Instead, Uncle Wayne, Jeff, Gareth, and Grant surround them and hear the clerk declare them husbands.
(Hopper and the rest of the Party find out at Christmas that year and everyone loses their shit in synchrony. They all learn a valuable lesson that day that Eddie Munson holds the meanest of grudges.)

the importance of mike and will simply getting each other (pt 2):
part one here !
I’ve covered the significance of Mileven simply not understanding each other, & now it’s time to talk about their counterpart !
(specifying that nothing in these posts is new or groundbreaking, I’m just covering multiple topics and gathering info in one place !)
season 1:
Episode one begins with the party playing a d&d campaign:
Tumblr media
When Mike goes upstairs to talk to his mom, Will discovers he’d rolled a seven, meaning the monster got him in the game. Dustin and Lucas say “Did Mike see it?” to which Will shakes his head no. “Then it doesn’t count!” Lucas replies as they scramble to leave the house.
Dustin and Lucas leave and Mike stands next to Will in the garage. After a moment of quiet, Will tells Mike,
“It was a seven. The roll. It was a seven. The demogorgon, it got me.”
Tumblr media
To which Mike responds with:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
nothing.
This scene is the first scene we get with Mine and Will alone in the whole show. This scene sets up the entirety of their relationship, telling the audience right off the bat,
“Hey! These two boys are best friends, and they don’t lie to each other!”
First impressions are always important in media, and next we get El and Mike’s first scenes together.
Remember, Mike only found El because he was out with Dustin and Lucas looking for Will.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, Mike is sweet to El that first night and next day. But keep in mind that the only reason El spent that first night in Mike’s basement was because Mike didn’t want to get in trouble by his mom, because he had been out looking for Will, something he wasn’t supposed to be doing.
Dustin says, “I think we should tell your mom,” and Lucas agrees. Mike responds with, “Who’s crazy now?”
Lucas: “How is that crazy?”
Mike: “Because we weren’t supposed to be out tonight, remember?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mike makes the plan to have El sleep there for the night, then go around to the front door in the morning so Karen will know what to do with her. Mike wants her to leave in the morning so they can go back to looking for Will.
Remember, the only reason she stayed the night was so the boys didn’t get in trouble for looking for Will.
Mike keeps Eleven around 1. because “bad men” are after her, and Mike does care for her and her safety, and 2. Mike has a feeling Will is alive and El knows how to find him.
They don’t have many interactions in season 1 due to Will being in the upside down, but they reunite at the end of the season and everything is (seemingly) back to normal.
season 2:
Everyone knows season two is byler’s season ! El is living with Hopper, unbeknownst to the boys, and Mike and Will are as close as ever.
Episode 1: The party goes to Palace Arcade and plays Dig Dug. In the midst of this, Will gets a weird feeling and suddenly sees the upside down.
Tumblr media
He walks outside slowly and sees the Mind Flayer, followed by one person and one person only: his best friend.
Tumblr media
(can’t ss netflix but mike comes out and asks will if he’s okay)
Mike is the only one out of the other three to notice Will is gone and follow him out. He puts his arm around Will and walks him back inside to play Dig Dug.
Later on in episode one, Joyce picks Will up early from school for his appointment with Dr. Owens,
Tumblr media
and the camera zooms into Mike and Mike only, saying,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All three boys notice something is off, but Mike is the first to say something about it.
This whole season is meant to showcase the special friendship Mike and Will have. They know each other the best and even the rest of the party knows that.
Episode 2: This episode is an important one. Max joins the party while trick-or-treating and Mike is not on board with the idea.
(sorry for the terrible grimy photos im taking these pics from another screen)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've noticed when the party split off into groups, it's almost always Mike & Will, Dustin & Lucas, or Lucas & Max. Mike and Will are glued to each other's hip most of the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(these photos are so bad im cryin im sorry)
Mike is upset that Will allowed for Max to join them while trick-or-treating, and when Mike hurries ahead of Will, Will almost seems disappointed in himself for disappointing Mike, staring after him like Mike caught him committing atrocities and he feels guilty. lmao poor will, he just wants to make mike happy !
A moment later we have bullies push Will to the ground, resulting in him seeing the upside down & Mind Flayer again, calling for Mike and running to safety.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Mike finally reaches Will, he exclaims, "Will! I couldn't find you, are you hurt?" indicating that the moment Mike turned around and didn't see Will behind him, he sensed something was off and went looking for him, just like at Palace Arcade.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While the others chase down the stairs, either cussing or verbally confused, Mike is the only one at Will's side asking him if he's okay.
Tumblr media
He helps Will up and puts an arm around him again, just like at palace Arcade, and takes him ho--- oh, you thought I was gonna say home? To Will's house? Nope! Mike says he's going to take Will home, and takes him to the Wheeler's basement.
Tumblr media
Ladies and gentlemen, how could I make a byler post without including the infamous crazy together scene !?
We have Mike and Will sitting on the couch in the Wheeler's basement, and Will is telling him all about these "visions" he's been having.
He begins describing,
Tumblr media
but stops, not knowing how to finish his sentence. But no worries, Mike finishes it for him!
Tumblr media
Will then begs Mike to keep it a secret.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why won't the others understand? Did the other party member not already see a demogorgon? Do they not already know what the upside down is? Will just wants to have something special--a secret only he and Mike know. He knows the others would understand, but doesn't think they'd be of any help. Unlike Mike, whom he trusts completely.
anyways that's all the photos i can fit here so I will cover the rest of s2, 3, & 4 in my next post. byeeee!!!
part 3 here !

Hot take: S3 Dustin sucked just as bad as S3 Mike and Lucas.
I’ve always found it kinda odd when people paint Dustin as some perfect friend in S3. The entire reason that Dustin was with Steve the whole season was because he was mad at all his friends for supposedly “ditching” him the night before at Weathertop. That’s why he goes to Steve instead of them after hearing the Russian transmission. He lies to Steve and says that all his friends ditched him, which, of course, made Steve feel bad for him. He then tells Steve “They’re gonna regret it though, big time, when they don’t get to share in my glory”.
Like come on. Tell me that boy wasn’t being SO petty. He was so confident that he was gonna be an “American hero” after hearing that Russian transmission and yet he wasn’t gonna share an ounce of that glory with his friends because it was late and they were probably tired of listening to him try and call Suzie for literal hours. That’s no exaggeration. When Mike and El leave the rest of the group on the hill, Dustin looks at his watch and says “curfew at 4?”. By the time Will, Max, and Lucas finally leave, it’s dark out and Will even says “it’s late”. They spent all afternoon up there.
So at that point, the group had surprised Dustin when he got home, helped him lug all the radio parts up the hill, built the radio, and then sat for hours while Dustin tried to contact Suzie… but apparently that wasn’t enough for him? Dustin still said that they ditched him, which like yes Mike and El did, but that was unfair to say about the others.
Robin actually says something interesting in the last episode that always stuck out to me. It’s when they’re driving to weathertop and she says “Suzie must be pretty special, huh? I mean if you built this thing and lugged it all the way to the middle of nowhere just to talk to her?” Interesting choice of words considering we were explicitly shown how Dustin didn’t do all that by himself, and how his friends helped him both carry the parts to the top of the hill and assemble the thing. This makes the implication something like “Your friends must be really special, huh? If they helped you lug this thing all the way to the middle of nowhere and build it, just so you could talk to your girlfriend?”
They also weren’t even confident that Suzie even existed at that point, but they helped him anyways. They did it because they love him. So with all that being said, kinda fucked up of him to say what he did to Steve and paint them as terrible friends.
It’s even worse when you look at Will specifically. I’ve heard some people say that Dustin would have totally played DND with Will if he was with The Party the whole season instead of Steve. However, that’s simply not true. Will was the last to leave Dustin on the hill and before he left he asked if they could maybe play DND (“or something fun”) tomorrow. It was a direct invitation to hangout again tomorrow but all Dustin gave him back was a self pitying little “Yeah, maybe.”
He doesn’t hangout with Will the next day.
So Will spent all day doing what Dustin wanted to do, but just like with Mike and Lucas, he couldn’t get the same in return. Even with an invitation to hangout again tomorrow, Dustin still clumped Will in with his other friends who he says ditched him, which makes it kind of hypocritical that Dustin doesn’t show up for Will the next day.
So no, Dustin wouldn’t have played DND with Will if he was around cause he was actively and knowingly choosing not to do that by going to the mall to see Steve. He could have been playing DND with Will if he wanted to. The offer was on the table. He didn’t take it though. He wanted to be petty instead.
So I guess what I’m trying to say is that Dustin was no better of a friend to Will in S3 than Lucas or Mike was. One could even argue that he was worse than them.
Obviously I have no real beef with these made-up children, but I just think some might have missed this part of the story cause Dustin is not the perfect angel character that some see him as 😅

a fic where nico fucks the reader in the shower?
A/N: Omg… I thought you would never ask 😉 Enjoy!!!! Also, Idk what it is about a man washing hair, but it gets me every time. Like it’s so sweet… and innocent.. and mundane.. but so romantic. AH!
Word Count: 2.3k
P.S. How do we like this banner 👇🏻? Is it clear to you what you’re getting into? I’m thinking of adding this to all my smut fics, but was curious on how it would be received.
Tumblr media
My second time in Switzerland with Nico is going swimmingly. We have indulged in amazing food, done some sight seeing, and explored a couple hiking trails through easy, lower elevation spots. I’m even starting to recognize my way around Bern when Nico and I visit the local cafe for espresso’s each morning.
But the Hischier family reunion is proving to be much deeper water than I anticipated. Nico told me it was a family party, but as we were walking in to the hotel event space, Luca explained it was a reunion. Nico had looked at me with concern, but I shrugged it off, wondering how hard this was actually going to be.
The problem? Not many of them speak fluent English and I don’t know more than a few words in Swiss German. I don’t think spewing swearwords at his extended family members is a good first impression.
Nico was instantly pulled in so many different directions, as per usual. At first, we tried to stay together, but it became impossible with the size of the crowd and attention. I’ve had so many family members come up and try to speak to me. We sputter through the little English they know before they move along to someone else they can communicate with. The noise in the room is loud with laughter and animated talking. A throb is beginning to pulse through my brain. I try to ignore it, but know with my history, this will be a long night if I don’t find some quiet. Luckily, we have a room booked upstairs for the night to avoid any sort of traveling after the consumption of numerous adult beverages.
I scan the room for my husband. Nico is with his parents and a few cousins I’ve met before. I sneak up next to Nico, but the way Rino is standing, I can’t get completely into the circle. I awkwardly reach out and lace my fingers with Nico’s left hand, catching my finger prints on his ring. He looks over his shoulder at my touch and smiles, turning sideways to pull me in.
“Oh I’m sorry, y/n.” Rino says when he sees me, making even more room for me. Shit. I just wanted to let Nico know I was heading upstairs, not be consumed in another conversation.
“It’s okay.” I give him a sweet smile and then drop my gaze to the floor. The group laughs at something Nico’s cousin is saying in Swiss German. I tilt my lips in acknowledgement, but it’s all I can muster right now. I turn to look into Nico’s face. He looks so happy and at ease. I feel shamefully guilty for wanting to leave, but I know if I stay here and continue to socialize, I’m going to start shutting down in overwhelm.
“Babe.” I whisper to him, hoping to only get his attention. It works. His brown eyes slide to me and his hand on my lower back pulls me tight as he leans his ear closer to me. “I’m going to go back to our room.” My voice stays at whisper level; he nods in acknowledgement.
“Are you okay?” He whispers against my ear after brushing our cheeks together.
“Yeah, I’m just… tired.” I say because I can’t think of what else to describe meeting every family member of your husband’s extended family in one night in which you can only communicate well with about four of them. Nico pulls slightly away and looks into my eyes. I know he can see what I mean. He gives me a reassuring, sweet kiss.
“Okay.” He turns so his back is blocking me from the group and he places a hand on my hip to nudge back. Then, he ushers me to leave without making a scene. My eyes flutter gratefully at him and I make a dash to leave without any more interruptions. As I leave, I can feel Nico’s eyes on me. Something about it feels possessive and my skin breaks out into goosebumps.
When I get to our room, I immediately begin to shed my clothes. Since leaving the loud space, my head has begun to pound in sync with my heartbeat at my temples. I know a nasty tension headache is coming for me. Despite cold showers being generally better for headaches, a warm one always helps ease mine away. I place my hands on the cool, porcelain sink and suck in a deep breath. The relief I feel at finally being alone consumes me. I am so tried and weirdly sore? The tension in my neck and shoulders needs to be rubbed away. I’m hopeful this shower will do the trick.
I reach for the stainless steel knobs and turn the glass shower to a soothing heat. The water is hot, but not so hot that it will scald my skin. Instead, it will wrap around me like a warm blanket with the steam. I don’t bother to close the door to the bathroom, knowing there is no risk to unwanted eyes on me here. The Swiss sure know how to create an air of privacy and seclusion.
When I step into the shower, I sigh in happiness as the warm water begins to tap along my neck and shoulders. I dip my chin to rest almost against my chest and feel the releasing of my muscles. The steam swirls around my legs, wrapping them in it’s warmth. I close my eyes to allow the water to cascade over my face, taking my make up off with each drop. I already feel a little better.
I grab my face wash and scrub at my eyes to get the remaining mascara off of them. The rest of my makeup washes away effortlessly with the soap. I hold my fingers to my temples and press into them for a count of ten, then release and feel the next edge of pain wash away with the water. I suck in another deep breath, holding it and then releasing it. I’m feeling better with each passing second.
I turn around, letting my brown hair fall down my back and soak in the stream of the shower head. My eyes are closed to avoid the water spray but I step slightly forward so I can open them to grab my shampoo. My gaze immediately lands on Nico. Despite his sudden appearance, I am not shocked to see him. He leans just inside the door of the bathroom by the light switches. His brown eyes are molten black and I can see his erection straining his gray shorts from here.
“You just going to watch from there?” I ask him as I squirt shampoo into my hand. A sexy, smug grin tilts his lips apart. I watch as his hands come to the buttons on his navy shirt as he pushes off from the wall.
“I only came up here to check on you. But then you lifted your arms to run through your hair and your tits bounced in a way that wouldn’t let me leave.” He says while he steps out of his pants and boxer briefs.
“If you weren’t so sexy, that might be a little creepy.”
“There’s nothing creepy about my eyes on you.” Nico says as he steps into the shower with me. His hands come to my waist and he pulls my wet body to his. I’m slippery from the dripping trails of my shampoo. His hands glide across my sides, then up to soap up my breasts. His fingers thumb at my glistening nipples and a breathy gasp drops from my mouth when he twists.
Nico walks me back carefully so I’m back in the shower stream. His fingers come to my hair so he can massage the soap out of it. The act is intimate- a pleasurable and practical motion that has my pussy throbbing for him. I can feel his erection bouncing against my stomach with each one of his movements. It’s a teasing gesture that builds the passion between us. I reach my hand out to give him a firm squeeze at the base. He’s rock hard and his skin barely gives to my grip.
“Usually, I’m not a shower sex kind of girl.” I murmur. He knows this and we both agree that it messes with natural lubrication, but right now, the ache is so great between us, that it shouldn’t be an issue. “But that looks painful, so I’ll make an exception.” I turn, placing my palms flat against the shower wall. I extend my arms fully, walking Nico back so that I’m out of the shower stream and my hips press eagerly outwards, begging for him to fill me. He sighs happily, bringing his middle finger to my opening, testing me. What he finds there is warm and  thick readiness.
“On your toes.” He requests and I do so. Now, I’m at the perfect height for him to plunge into me. He refused to wait longer, thrusting inside of me in one steady push. My head immediately curls back between my shoulder blades. My mouth opens for a moment before I grit my teeth at how damn good he feels inside of me.
“I’m going to need your help to stay up.” I wheeze out as he starts to move. The pleasure is so intense right off the bat that my muscles keep melting into mush, making it hard to stay on my toes like he asked. His hands come to my hips and his grip is tight as he keeps me in place. I’m quivering already. I hear Nico laugh from behind me when he feels my muscles shaking. “Shut up.” I snap, causing him to snicker louder as I reach back and slap his forearm. I dig my nails in pointedly, “If you can laugh, you can fuck me harder.”
“Baby!” He chokes out in surprise then lets out a groan. “Keep that up.”
His hips move faster. I press back hard against him so my face doesn’t go too far into the water. Nico took my challenge to heart. His thrusts are deep and my inner walls are clenching at him with each movement, begging him to stay inside of me. I tighten around him and he releases a deep, desperate moan. I can feel his abdomen tightening and I know we are ending this round together. I reach back to hold onto his hip, keeping us smashed together with each thrust. I pull my upper body a little further up and that creates the perfect angle for us both. I can feel my orgasm pulsing deep within me, pounding at my walls to be released. Nico removes his right hand from my hip and dances his fingers along my wet clit.
“Yes!” I scream as I come crashing down. I dig my fingers into his hip and my entire body convulses. My muscles tug at him inside of me. Nico releases into me with the same fierceness, an extended moan falling from his plumped lips. When the last wave has rippled out of me, I dip my head forward into the shower stream, sucking in quick breaths to try and settle myself. My legs are shaking. My calves are screaming at me to get off my toes, but I can’t until Nico slips from me. “Babe, out. My legs… are cramping.”
“Sorry.” He murmurs, wrapping an arm around my stomach and pulling from me. His arm stays as I go back down onto flat feet. I lean back into his solid chest, the water from my hair dripping all over us. His other arm wraps around me to hold me tight, massaging my heavy breast. I run my fingers up the outsides of his arms and grip his large biceps to hang onto him. “I’m so glad I came up here.” He chuckles against the top of my head.
“Me too. My headache is gone.” I note. The afterglow has assaulted us in the shower and we are both lazily rubbing our fingers against each other’s wet skin. “Do they think you’re coming back?”
“I don’t know. And I really don’t care. I’m not leaving this room now.” I nod in understanding. “Did something happen down there?” He wonders. “You seemed fine and then you weren’t.”
“No.. I was just overwhelmed by meeting so many people.” I say to him, watching as flecks of water patter our reflection on the glass shower door. “Ended up getting a bad headache.”
“Yeah, I didn’t realize it was going to be a family reunion.” He mutters, shaking his head. “I would have prepared you for it if I knew.”
“It’s okay. This helped.” I grin, tilting my head back to look up at him. His lips find my temple and we stay like that for a moment, eyes closed in contentment. “Wanna wash my body?” I ask him, feeling that he has softened completely against my butt cheeks.
“You know where that is going to lead.”
“Yeah, kinda why I asked.” I turn to face him, tossing my arms around his neck. I bring his face down to mine, walking us back into the shower stream. The trails of water fly down our faces, melding in our mouths with each lap of our tongues against each other. Nico’s hands slide down to my ass, gripping tightly and smashing me to his chest.
“You taste so fucking good. Wonder how you taste here.” He slides down my body, settling on his knees in the wet shower and shoving his tongue between my legs. My head knocks back, being sprayed by the warm shower head. My leg hooks over his shoulder and I settle my hand on top of his head for balance.
“Oh my god.” I moan to our hotel room.
Of all the Hischiers downstairs right now, I’m glad this one is mine.

Epic Steddie Fic Rec | May 8th-May28th 2023
Tumblr media
So just like I got infected by the Steddie brainrot last fall, I've now fallen deep into the gay firefighters show and the last 10 pages of my ao3 is full of Buddie fics 😆 so most of these fics were read in the first two weeks of this rec...
Complete
one of the good things by loveinhawkins/ @loveinhawkins (Nobody Dies AU | < 1K | General): Eddie is staring at him. He sets the guitar aside, leaning forward and peering at Steve like he’s doing something particularly fascinating. “You’re angry.” Steve shakes his head reflexively, feels a prickle of defensiveness. He keeps his voice as even as he can when he says, “No, I’m not.” “Oh, you are,” Eddie says softly. Something must show on Steve’s face because he amends, “Like, not… Don’t worry. Not a loud anger.”
proof we’re here by loveinhawkins/ @loveinhawkins (<1K | General): “I used to wonder about this place,” Robin tells Eddie as they lounge on the couch, looking up at Steve’s pristine ceiling, not a cobweb in sight. “Huh?” Robin smirks knowingly. “Come on, you must have wondered, too.” She puts on a hushed voice of mock reverence. “The King of Hawkins High roaming these hallowed halls… if walls could speak…”
you're so fine, you blow my mind by griesly (PWP, Crossdressing | 4K | Explicit): Eddie walks in on a very private moment, with unexpected (and thoroughly enjoyable) consequences.
buzzer-beater history by loveinhawkins/ @loveinhawkins (S4 Missing Scene | 1,7K | General): When Lucas Sinclair starts to apologise for missing The Cult of Vecna, Eddie initially thinks that he’s hearing things. “Jesus, Sinclair. I’ve got an ongoing list of folks who owe me an apology since, like, sixth grade, and trust me, your name’s not on there. Can pretty confidently say it never will, okay?” Eddie sees Steve tilt his head ever so slightly from where he’s walking just ahead of them, like he’s listening in. Spots his faint nod of approval. Eddie can’t decide if he resents it or finds it endearing—kind of gets the ridiculous feeling that Steve’s vetting him on behalf of the kids.
halving the compass by griesly (No Upside Down AU, Fake Relationship | 8K | Explicit): Forced to attend his father's elitist black tie gala, Steve Harrington asks along the one person sure to throw a wrench in the works - Eddie Munson. It's only for show, of course. It's not a real date. ...or is it?
Say Xanathar by pinkcash (PWP | 8K | Explicit): Eddie comes to sell Steve weed and leaves with a lot more information about him than he had originally. Like, for instance, he’s not nearly as straight as he thinks he is
Steve the Reluctant by rachtay13/ @rachtay13 (Post-S4 | 46K | Explicit): Robin raised her brows.  “You know what, Harrington?” She nodded her head. “Yeah, you know what? I dare you to make a friend. I dare you.”
Dream Boy by indelicate/ @steddielations (Post-S4 | 8K | Teen): Or, Steve goes to see Eddie’s band play and finally finds what he’s been looking for.
Melt Me On Your Tongue by indelicate/ @steddielations (PWP, BDSM | 6K | Explicit): “This okay?” “Yeah it’s— shit, it’s more than okay, Steve.” “… you’re crying, Eds.” Eddie can’t hold back a choked off noise then, somewhere between an overwhelmed laugh and a sob. “No one’s ever done this to me before.” He doesn’t know if he means no one’s ever given him a bath, or braided his hair, or just any of the things Steve does for him, really. Eddie's never had a Steve before.
I Wish I Knew You Wanted Me by indelicate/ @steddielations (Getting Together | 1,9K | Teen): Or, Steve finds out why Eddie likes wearing his clothes so much.
three whistles in the dark by loveinhawkins/ @loveinhawkins (S4 | < 1K | General): “Why are you whistling?” Eddie asks after he’s heard Steve do it for the fourth time. “Huh?” Eddie imitates him; it’s not like Steve is just casually following a tune in his head—it sounds deliberate. Encouraging whistles, one right after the other, in groups of three. Like a… like a call to something.
i’m down on my knees (i wanna take you there) by twelvexclara (Pre-S4 | 4K | Explicit): Steve really needs to pass his English class. So who better than to visit the resident genius/freak, Eddie Munson?
The Intuition of Claudia Henderson by loveinhawkins/ @loveinhawkins (Post-S4, Claudia POV | 1,8K | General): Claudia opens the door quietly. It’s not Max who’s in the bed. And there, lying so peacefully against Eddie Munson’s shoulder, is Dustin. He’s fast asleep. Eddie’s got an arm around him, and he’s slowly running his fingers through Dustin’s hair the way she used to when he was little, to help him drift off. He looks up from his book at the sound of her entering the room, and his face goes as white as the bedsheets.
🖤 i've been having a horrible time pulling myself together by deadratz (Post-S4 Fix-it | Friends With Benefits | 74K | Explicit): The last thing Eddie thinks as he draws his final breath is that Henderson is gonna need a shit ton of therapy. But then, Eddie wakes up, gasping for air, and miraculously, he's being rescued. Now he has to figure out how to live.
WIP
🖤 better by you, better than me by palmviolet/ @palmviolet (Canon Divergent, Season 1-2 | 32/? | 167K | Mature | Warning: Violence): November 1983. Between unpaid bills, the supposedly straight jock he’s seeing, and letters from his convict dad, seventeen year old Eddie Munson’s got enough to worry about. But when Will Byers goes missing, it sparks a chain of events that will show there are more depths to Hawkins — and to certain people in it, like infamous Steve ‘The Hair’ Harrington — than he realizes. / or, the excessively long slow-burn in which Eddie is involved in the Upside Down from the very beginning.
Bandaids for the Heart by LexiRoseWrites/ @lexirosewrites (Modern AU, A/B/O, Nurse Steve | 1/16 | 5K | Explicit): Steve has been a pediatric nurse for long enough to know that Eddie and his daughter shouldn’t be seeing him in the emergency room this often. Ellie Munson can only shove so many marbles up her nose and eat so many crayons before he starts to think the five year old might have an ulterior motive.
🖤 Trouble Looks Good On You by indelicate/ @steddielations (Post S4 | 3/5 | 35K | Explicit): It happens like a fever dream. The first time Steve gives Eddie a swift smack on the ass, it’s obviously just an old jock habit that’s stuck with him. It wasn’t meant to have Eddie’s knees going weak, or turn his blood hot under his skin, or give him a brand in the shape of Steve Harrington’s hand, or— Nope, because Eddie’s not even into that. But then, it happens again. Or, Steve keeps accidentally awakening Eddie’s new kinks.
Until We Fall by indelicate/ @steddielations (Fake Relationship | 3/6 | 19K | Teen): “Hate to break it to you, Buckley, but you can’t set Steve up on a date ‘cause he’s already got plans… with me.” Or, it starts with a drunken night and a plan that Steve can’t remember making, but Eddie sure does.
🖤 Reboot by plutosrose/ @plutosrose (Modern AU, Actor Steve & Eddie | 8/10 | 30K | Explicit): In 2012, Steve Harrington and Eddie Munson film a scene in the teen drama Normal Stuff that launches a popular ship on ao3. By early 2013, they aren’t speaking anymore. In 2024, Robin calls Steve with an offer to reprise his role as Andy Hartley in a reboot of their old show, with one important update–his character gets together with Eddie’s.
🖤 Steve Harrington’s Radical Fun Time Babysitting Service by Humanities_Handbag / @humanityinahandbag, Invader_Sam (No Upside Down AU, 90’s | 26/? | 100K | Mature): Alternatively: Steve accidentally starts a babysitting service, falls in love, panics [in bisexual], and gets himself a boyfriend. (Part 1 of 90’s Music Store AU)
the weight of us by loveinhawkins/ @loveinhawkins (Dustin-centric, Post-S4 | 2/3 | 8K | Teen): It’s only once everything is okay that Dustin starts thinking there’s something deeply wrong with him.

Chapter VIIII
It’s been a few days and I am still trapped in my confusion about Imogen’s words of encouragement after my father’s punishment. My throat is almost completely healed, just some faint bruises lingering.
The “drama” between Violet and Dain is still going on and Xaden is still making her life harder than necessary. It’s kind of amusing, how the two of them are constantly bickering and the tension is rising day by day. I am waiting for the day when she tells us they fucked. Xaden is clearly interested in her too.
Today starts the Gauntlet training and currently, we are standing in front of the … menacing obstacle course, how Violet calls it. Said girl takes her place next to me and looks up to the top horrified. And while Rhiannon shares the sentiment, Aurelie looks fucking excited.
“I’ve been waiting years for this day!” she grins widely.
She explains how her father used to set up obstacle courses all the time and how she and her older brother trained for this. She also explains, what we have to look out for while running through this.
I observe every death trap we have to cross in order to get to the top. My heart rate picks up, even though I’ve run this more than once and am familiar with this. Father made me train this and every time he came back to Basgiath I had to show him, how much process I’ve made. And all that in secret, without prying eyes around me.
“Still not sure why they call it the Gauntlet” Ridoc says next to me, shivering from the morning cold, while the sun is still set behind the mountains.
“To ensure dragons keep coming to Threshing by weeding out the weaklings” Tynan sneers from the other side while sending a pointed look in Violets direction. Fucking. Asshole.
“Knock it the fuck off” Ridoc snaps at him, earning himself the attention from the rest of our squad. Surprised and a smirk waiting to lift on my lips, I watch the situation in front of me unfold.
“What’s your problem?” Tynan asks, trying to be intimidating in front of our dark-skinned friend. He is as intimidating as a slide of molded bread as Ridoc is way taller and wider than him.
“My problem? Just because you are one of Barlowes lapdogs you think you can be an asshole to your own squad mates?” Ridoc states. They bicker front and back till Sawyer has heard enough and shuffles between them, trying to calm the situation.
He starts to explain, why they measure the time you need to get up the Gauntlet, since he survived it last year. “Little bitter, are we?” Tynan asks smirking.
“Can I punch him?” I ask no one in particular, earning a few chuckles and a lighthearted laugh from Sawyer, looking gratefully in my direction when I am coming to his defense.
Professor Emetterio arrives and starts explaining the function of the course.
“Sawyer, you’ll start and show your squad mates how it’s done. Then Pryor, Trina, Tynan, Rhiannon, Ridoc, Violet, Aurelie, Arya and Luca.”
“Great,” Luca murmurs, “so she can push me down.” Rolling my eyes, I ignore her and take my place into the formation.
“You are the only squad to fully remain intact since Parapet. Your squad leader must be proud” Emetterio walks past us.
“Aetos is especially proud of Sorrengail” Tynan sneers again, earning a high-pitched giggle from the annoying blonde behind me.
“You want to talk shit about me, fine. Do it. But leave Dain out of this” Violet hisses. My girl is gaining confidence. They grow up so fast, I think amused.
“Like it doesn’t bother any of you that our mighty squad leader is fucking one of us” the boy asks in the group, offended.
“I’m not-“ Vi starts but I don’t let her finish, heard enough of him.
“Look, buddy, you crave some attention and affection from our squad leader, I am pretty sure you can ask Dain yourself, if he could fuck you. Seems to me that you are quite jealous of Violet, that she gets all of his attention.” I say, glaring in his direction.
And while Ridoc and the rest of our group, besides the offended boy and Luca, starts laughing loudly, Tynan turns deep red, clearly embarrassed.
He opens his mouth to reply, but our professor gives the signal to start the Gauntlet.
“Any words, Sawyer?” he asks our friend.
Said boy lets out a deep sigh. “There are ropes every six feet that run from the top of the cliffside to the bottom. So, if you start to fall, reach out and grab a rope. It’ll cost you thirty seconds, but death costs you more.” So much more.
Violet whispers to Trina when a heavy chunk of granite tumbles down. And after that, Sawyer is off. And off he goes. Not a single misstep, no balance problems. None. He is simply fantastic. He faces the giant ramp and sprints forwards. He uses all of his strength to pull himself over the edge to the top and into safety.
Rhi and Vi cheer loudly for him while I look up impressed. He is really fucking good. He could easily earn the Gauntlet patch, if it weren’t for a certain blonde hulk of a cadet in Tail Section. Liam Mairi is a beast through and through. He’ll easily beat everyone.
I bet that Sawyer will bond a dragon this year and I’ll lose any hope if not.
Emetterio praises him. And then Pryor is off, struggling hard on his way.
Violet struggles too, I already predicted that, but she is fast, wicked fast.
After her, Aurelie is on her way and you can clearly see the training she has in her bones.
I give her around twenty seconds and then I make my way to the first point. I can hear the others encouraging each other but I try to focus on myself, still having father’s words in my ears. “We’ll see us after Threshing when you’ll have your dragon.” And if I don’t even make it to Presentation, then he’ll haunt me even if I am meeting Malek early.
Shouting sounds from above and just in time I see Violet slamming into the rocks, clearly dazed after the hit. My heart starts beating faster, adrenaline is rushing through my veins. Shit.
“Come on Silver one, you’ve got this!” I roar up to her. She blinks through the pain and gains her composure back. Her and Aurelie land on the gravel path.
I take a deep breath through my nose. She is alright, for now.
I am in front of the giant buoy balls and jump on the first one. It rotates slightly and I take the chance and leap onto the next one. Not wanting to slip and fall to my possible death, I immediately jump over the next ones too and land on the gravel path that leads me to the giant metal rods. Luca is struggling behind me, but I pay her no attention.
I am directly under the rolling logs and see Violet crossing them successfully.
“Violet, here I come!” Aurelia shouts. She starts good but then a roar sound from above and while Violet is distracted by the Green Daggertail that fly’s over our heads, Aurelie slips on the fifth post. She cries out and rolls of the log, Violet too far away from her to catch her.
“Aurelie!” Shouting erupts from the top.
I sprint forward, desperately trying to catch her. I can reach her. I can grab her when she is near and pull her into safety. Hold her off from falling. I can-
A body slams into my back and I am tackled to the ground. Aurelie passes me, screaming loudly, while I hang limp over the edge. Shocked, the air freezes in my lungs as I watch her with wide eyes fall into her death, having a direct view on her terrified face.
She slams on the last buoy ball with murderous force, clearly breaking her neck and possibly every bone in her body, and falls on the gravel path down.
She is dead.

─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
You were jealous of your younger brother, Lucas. He was able to maintain having two friend groups while throughout high school you weren’t able to keep a single friend. Not that you weren’t impressionable or anything, you just had a tendency to grow apart. They had their interest and you didn’t like their interests. So you would keep to yourself for the most part. You were considered weird now, you never went to parties nor did you interact with the popular kids.  You were socially awkward and had a hard time talking with your peers.
Since you didn’t have a friend group you would typically sit with the other outcasts in the Hellfire Club with your brother. You had never done it before but your brother helped you warm up to them. You wouldn’t consider them your friends though. They were your brother’s, you were just his older sister that wanted to tag along. The only one that would truly interact with you was Eddie Munson, the club president, and dungeon master.
Sometimes, he would ask what you were reading or what you had in your sack lunch. If there was nothing to talk about within the club, he would talk to you instead. He was very nice to you. One of the few boys to do that with you. And because of that you couldn’t help but have some feelings for him.
But of course, you weren’t the only girl he was nice to. There was Chrissy Cunningham the popular cheerleader and freshly on the market. After a very messy break-up with her long-term high school sweetheart, Jason, you heard her talking on and on about how nice Eddie was to her. He was her shoulder to cry on for weeks. It was hard for her not to fall for him. And there were clear signs of him reciprocating. Not that you ever saw that but she was convinced. You heard her babble to her cheerleader friends about it.
You were jealous of Chrissy too. She had the friends, the smile, the talent, and the skill. Things you didn’t have. If Eddie were to choose between the two of you, you had no shot of winning.
You sat in a stall and waited for the gaggle of cheerleaders to leave to practice. It was Friday, which meant it was hellfire club for Lucas but his coach had told him during the day to be sure to be at practice. So he could be at either. You would pick him after whichever ever so you had to make sure you knew which direction he would be coming from. You decide to check on the Hellfire Club first to see if he was there. You knock on the door and wait for a few moments.
The door swiftly opens, “Sinclair nice of you to finally join us…” Eddie booms making you jump backward, “Oh sorry, wrong Sinclair. Sister Sinclair, to what do we owe the pleasure of your presence.” He smiles.
“Oh, um, I was just looking for Lucas, but if he’s not here I’ll look somewhere else.” You spin on your heels.
“Brother Sinclair didn’t show up but hey since you’re here maybe you could help us. The party is down a player and could really use some help.”
“From me?” You laugh nervously, “But I don’t really know how to play dungeons and dragons. Lucas tried once and he never wanted to again. I’m not that teachable.”
“Well, I’m sure with all of us there you could learn something. I’m a pretty good teacher.” He holds out his hand to you, “C’mon, I promise it’s not that scary. No matter what the guys tell you.”
You can’t help but smile. You take his hand gently and he pulls you into the theater room. Through the room and to the main stage was a large table set up in the darkness. You see all the members at the table, the only spot left open was the one right next to Eddie. As you take your seat, Eddie begins his monologue. “Welcome adventurers, we will be resuming our journey to the world’s end. Along the way you meet a traveler.” Eddie points to you, “And they have agreed to accompany you on this adventure.”
You swallow hard when a blank character sheet is placed in front of you with a pencil. You stare at it wide-eyed. Eddie leans over and explains to you every bit on the page. Jesus, there was so much happening on a single page. You had to roll dice skills?! Why not just pick random numbers? Why do you need slots for magic? Why not cast it all the time? You know magic, did you suddenly forget?
The questions would continue to fill your mind as you filled out the sheet. The session was tough for everyone, you were sure of it. The combat was very stop-and-go, every time it was your turn. You would apologize profusely before asking for help yet again. You were flustered with everyone staring. You felt terrible when it was over. You swore you heard a collective sigh of relief. Everyone then leaves the school, heading home for the night.
“Hey, no worries. You did good for your first session.” Eddie slings an arm over your shoulder. Your heart squeezes at the motion.
“Thanks. I probably couldn’t have done much without your help.” You say, “But I probably won’t play again.”
Eddie clicks his tongue, “That’s too bad. I’ll keep your character sheet though. Just in case.”
“Yeah, just in case you need to start a fire.” You mumble. Eddie lets out a hearty laugh, you didn’t think you said it that loud. You feel yourself begin to get flustered. The air in the parking lot cools down your face. As the Hellfire Club leaves the theater, the basketball team leaves the gym. You see Lucas coming out of the doors, “I should meet up with Lucas, I’ll see you around Eddie. Thank you for letting me play.”
“Anytime, Sister Sinclair. The offer still stands, you can join us whenever.” He bows and spins on his heels and walks over to his van.
You skip over to Lucas, “Hey kiddo, how was practice, you didn’t tell me which you were going to. I had to look for you.”
“You were with the Hellfire Club all night? I’m surprised.” He says.
“Yeah, Eddie roped me into playing.” You giggle but stop when you see the look on his face, “But it was whatever.”
“Right.” He smiles, “For a secret crush, you have a hard time keeping it one.”
“Whatever man, get in the car,” You unlock the door and jump in the car.
“Did the guys say anything about me being missing?” Lucas asks.
“A little, I think they were bummed you didn’t say you weren’t coming.” You say as you start the car.
“Oh, another thing, could you drive me to Chrissy’s place tomorrow night?”
“Chrissy’s? What for?” You furrow your brows as you pull to a stop sign.
“Her parents are out of town so she’s hosting a party. Is it cool if I go?”
“Don’t ask me, I ain’tcha mamma” You shrug, “But if she says yes, then I will take you.”
“Think you’d want to stay too?”
“Why would you want me to stay?”
Lucas shrugs, “I’ve never seen you go to a party before, maybe you should try it.”
Sometimes you liked when your brother looked out for you. However, there were times you wished he didn’t. Nothing made you more self-conscious than you realizing as a senior in high school, you didn’t do much in high school. No parties, no smoking, no drinking, no relationships, nothing.
You smile, “Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind but for now, I don’t think so.” You flex your hands on the wheel, “Parties are very crowded places.”
“But you are considering.”
“Emphasis on considering. I don’t know yet.”
When you head to bed, all you can think about is the party. And Eddie. Would he go? He has said he never really liked parties but it was Chrissy’s party. So maybe he would go. Then maybe you would go. It felt stupid to go to a party for a boy. A boy who might not even be there. You let out a sigh, you’ll just drop Lucas off.
The next night, You pull up to Chrissy’s large house. Lucas looks over at you for a moment, “Are you coming in?” You shake your head. He nods in understanding, seeing how you were sitting straight and you had a tight grip on the steering wheel. “Okay, I’ll find a ride back home.” he exits the car and heads inside. You watch him go before pulling the car out of park and roll away.
Just as you do, you see a dark figure jump in front of the car. You slam on the brakes quickly as the person turns to you, it was Eddie. “Woah, sorry my bad, thought you were parking.” He comes over to the window, “Sister Sinclair, what a pleasant surprise. What are you doing here?”
“I’m just dropping off Lucas…” You stammer, your grip on the wheel grows tighter. “What about you?”
“Chrissy invited me… I tried to bring the club but that was a no-go. So I’m kinda alone out here.” He sighs, “Unless you want to come inside with me.”
You let out a nervous giggle before covering your mouth. You compose yourself, “Sure.” You put the car back in park and lock it up before following Eddie inside. The house was full to the brim with folks from your school, hell, there were some from across the county here. Eddie wades through the crowd and you stumble your way after him following him to the kitchen.
Eddie picks up a bottle of liquor and pours you a cup and then one for himself. You take the cup from his hands and take a sip. You make a sour face before smiling causing Eddie to laugh nearly spilling what was in his mouth. “You’ve never had alcohol before.”
You were embarrassed to say no. “Only a little of what cocktail my dad would mix.”
“Oh, okay, so this is a little below your taste.” He chuckles. You roll your eyes and continue to drink. Eddie leans against the counter next to you. He looks like he wants to say something but before he can, Chrissy appears, wrapping her arms around him.
“Eddie! You made it. I am so glad you’re here.” She squeals.
“Yeah, no problem. Sister Sinclair is here too.” He points. She only glances at you for a moment before continuing to talk to Eddie. Chrissy was nice but she was not your friend. You had never had a real conversation with her. You don’t think you’ve ever had a genuine conversation with her. Not that you would want to. She just talked about Eddie every time she was in the bathroom with her friends.
While they are distracted, you slip out of the kitchen and sit outside in the large backyard. You see Lucas walking with his friends and you wave. He walks over to you with a big smile, “You’re here! At a party!”
“Yeah yeah, I thought it would be fun.” You shrug.
“What convinced you? Is Eddie here?”
“He didn’t convince me.”
“But he is here though, right?”
You don’t say a word. Which answers his question. “You should tell him, y’know”
“Lucas, you’re supposed to be on my side!”
“I am! What a better opportunity than now!” Lucas exclaims, “You do it or I will.”
“Are you threatening me?!” You elbow him jokingly, “Whatever, man. Your friends are calling you, go back inside… Dork.” You shoo him away and you finish off your drink. You would go back inside for another but you didn’t want to risk the chance of bumping into Eddie and Chrissy in there. They were probably making out on the kitchen counter, or they probably moved upstairs to her bedroom. You grimace at the thought.
“Sister Sinclair” You are startled by the whisper in your ear. While you were thinking those terrible thoughts, Eddie had snuck up on you. “I was looking all over for you.”
“You were?” Your heart flutters at the statement.
“Well, I invited you for a reason.” He says.
You tilt your head, “Oh yeah, what is the reason?”
“Hm, you’re probably the only other person here I don’t find insufferable. Other than myself of course. And I really like talking to you. You don’t seem to have ulterior motives for being around me. Free weed or guitar lessons. And you don’t see me as someone to just make your parents upset. You treat me human.” He looks out into the night sky. “I don’t know how to describe it but you get it right.”
Of course you did. You felt the same way with him. You weren’t just Lucas Sinclair’s sister to him. You weren’t just the girl that sat in the back of the class. You felt like you had become his friend on your own. And that’s all you ever were going to be. Just his friend.
Eddie looks over at you and smiles, “You’re thinking.”
You snap out of your daze, “Hm? Oh, nothing. I’m just glad you think that way. I also consider you a good friend. I’ve always had a hard time making some. I really appreciate you.” You felt your heart sink into your stomach like a stone. You swallow dryly and clear your throat. “I’m glad to be your friend, Eddie.”
“I’m glad to be yours too, Sister Sinclair. But you know I—”
“Eddie! Come inside, a few of us are gonna play spin the bottle.” Once again, Chrissy swings in with her sweet pout to convince him to leave.
“Uh, I don’t really want to play.” He mumbles.
“Oh well then maybe we could play truth or dare.” She pulls him back inside. Eddie looks at you apologetically before disappearing back into the house.
You sigh before going in yourself. The party was starting to drain you. The loud music and the crowd of people were starting to overwhelm you and the buzz of the alcohol in your system was waning. You decide to look for Lucas and let him know that you were leaving. You didn’t want him to worry about you vanishing into the night without letting him know.
You wander around for a few minutes and you can’t seem to find him. You ask around and people tell you that he went upstairs with a few others. You sigh, as you think about him up there playing that stupid game. You head up the stairs and look for Chrissy’s room. As you look around you hear giggling coming from one of the rooms. That must be it.
You were about to knock on the door when you heard someone call Lucas’ name. “Lucas, Truth or Dare.” The boy clicks his tongue, “Hm, Truth”
Everyone boos him until the person who spoke before says, “Tell us more about your sister. She seems so mysterious.”
“Yeah, I saw her in the backyard, I had no idea she knew anybody at the party.”
“Oh, she’s really cool. She likes reading, she has a bunch of books in her room about like history and plants—” Lucas is booed yet again by the people in the room.
“Tell us the juicy stuff.”
“Yeah, tell us a secret.”
Lucas looks around nervously. You stare in horror through the crack in the door as you see his eyes move to Eddie. “Well, I know she’s got a crush on somebody.” No! Lucas, no! You wanted to shout but you were frozen in fear. You continue to watch.
“Well spill Lucas, who is it?”
“It’s somebody in this room,” Lucas says, the room goes quiet. Everyone looks around trying to find out.
“Oh, I think I know.” Chrissy giggles, “It’s Eddie. Every time I saw you guys together she was totally ogling you.”
“Yeah Eddie, like her back?” Someone laughs.
“Yeah, no offense, but she always looks so sad.” Chrissy pretends to pout, “Kind of a buzzkill at the party.”
“She can’t seem to do anything without being around you, Lucas. Are you sure she is the older one?” They laugh again.
Tears well up in your eyes as you listen to them laugh at you. You hope that someone will defend you. Lucas, Eddie, anybody. Your ears begin to ring and the world becomes muffled. Your ears were burning hot and felt shortness of breath. The tears blur your vision as you back away from the door. The walls were closing in on you and you started to get lightheaded. You walk towards the stairs and bump into a table, and knock over a vase, shattering it on the hardwood.
More eyes are on you as they hear the commotion. Everyone in Chrissy’s room comes out. Lucas steps forward to help you but you step away quickly running down the stairs. He follows after you. Eddie tries to follow as well but Chrissy grabs his arm, full of tears about the broken vase.
You reach the car outside and your ears hurt when the cool air touches them. Tears stream down your face, and you could barely breathe. You never thought your kind and caring younger brother would hurt you like that. Let them say those things about you.
He comes from behind you, shouting for you to stop, “Just wait a second.”
You turn around slowly and look at him, “How could you let them say those things about me! Your sister, Lucas. I have done nothing to deserve that and for you to hide in a room and tell my business. And you let them make fun of me. Am I really that helpless?! I’m sorry that I am so pathetic. I’m sorry your friends feel bad for you. I’m sorry, Lucas.” You wipe your face and unlock the car getting in, “You can find your own way home.” The car squeals down the road leaving Lucas in the dust.
The next school day, you were silent. You dropped Lucas and Erica off at school without a word. Lucas attempted to talk to you over the weekend but you had paid Erica fifty bucks to keep him away from you when you were home. At school, you kept your head down and avoided those at the party and the Hellfire Club. During lunch, you didn’t sit with them, and instead, you opted to sit outside and eat. However, you would regret this decision as you see Eddie approaching you coming from the woods.
“Sister Sinclair,” He smiles, “Good to see you’re okay after the party.” You don’t utter a word. You don’t even look at him as you continue to eat. Eddie’s mouth runs dry, “I’m sorry for what happened. They were jerks to you for no reason. And about the whole crush thing, I just wanted to say—”
You quickly pack up your lunch and leave. You didn’t want to hear him say another word. You didn’t want to feel like crumpling into a ball on the floor. You didn’t want him to see you cry for a second time.
After school, you still had your sisterly responsibilities of taking your brother home from his extracurriculars. Whichever one he chose for the day. It’s evening now and the clubs are over. To your surprise, Lucas had come out of the theater with the Hellfire Club.
Not a word is exchanged between the two of you as he enters the car. The car ride is silent until you hit the first stop sign. “I’m sorry for what I did at the party. I shouldn’t have told Eddie that you liked him. And I shouldn’t have let them bully you like that. I thought I was doing something right and instead I hurt you. I was being a total dick.”
“Yeah, you were.” You say.
“I don’t expect I will be forgiven.”
“You are.” You say, “You’re a stupid teenage boy. You’re gonna make a lot of mistakes. You were doing it out of the kindness of your heart. Just remember who your true friends are. You can’t assume everyone has an open heart like you do. That’s why I love you. I will always love you. And I forgive you.”
“I sent you into a panic attack. That doesn’t sound like kindness.” Lucas mutters.
“In hindsight, it wasn’t but I was already overwhelmed.” You wave it off. You didn’t want him to worry about the thought anymore. The moment came and passed and you were over it. Somewhat. There was still the Eddie part of the situation.
The next few days you still avoid the Hellfire table. You notice that Chrissy spoke less and less about Eddie during her bathroom breaks. She wasn’t clinging to his arm anymore or begging for his attention.
After school, you wait in the parking lot for your brother when all of a sudden Lucas throws the door open. “We need your help.” His tone throws you into a panic as you follow after him. You come in half expecting someone on the floor dying. “We need your help fighting a gang of trolls.”
The others look at you with pleading eyes. You furrow your brows in confusion as if they weren’t dreading the time that you were playing last. “Are you sure it’s me you want?” They configure around you and nod.
“Eddie has been very aggro this last game. He is usually more deadly when something is upsetting him.”
“Okay, what does that have to do with me?” You furrow your brows.
“Last time he wasn’t like this was when you played. So if you play again…”
“Will he be gentler?”
They all nod. You sigh and fold your arms, “Fine but I’m doing it for you guys.” The guys cheer and reconvene back at the table. The only seat that remains was the one next to Eddie. As you sit down, Eddie gives you a small smile.
“Welcome back, traveler.” He hands you your character sheet. He really did hold on to it for you.
You take it gently, “Thank you.” You look down at it nervously.
“Don’t worry, I’ll help you.” He gives you a wink before continuing his monologue and starting combat. You get put in the initiative order and you try to figure out what to do for each of your turns. This time around you got the hang of what to do, sparingly asking Eddie for help. One by one the trolls are defeated and the session ends. Everyone heads to the door and as you stand up to follow, Eddie taps your shoulder, “Have a second to talk?”
You look over at Lucas and toss him the keys, “I’ll be out in a minute.” He nods and heads out with his friends leaving just you and Eddie in the room. He moves around the table collecting figurines and folding up the map.
“So, about the party I—”
“I accept your apology.” You say, “I mean there isn’t anything for you to apologize for you didn’t say anything mean about me. And the whole crush thing, it’s no big deal. If you don’t like me that’s fine. I kind of don’t expect you to. Like you said, we are friends. That’s all we are. I’ll get over it eventually, so you don’t have to feel bad for me or anything like that.” You let out a long needed breath.
Eddie blinks a few times before laughing a little, “Sorry I don’t mean to laugh but what makes you think I wouldn’t like you back?”
You smile nervously, “Well, first of all, Chrissy—”
“Chrissy is like a little sister to me. She’s very nice but I never saw her the same way she did me. I just found it hard to hurt her feelings after her break up.” He sighs, “But because I was sparing her feelings, I was hurting yours.” He’s nervous as he speaks. He twists the rings around his fingers and he’s shuffling his feet, looking down at the floor. “I like you a lot, and I would love to take you out sometime. On a date, somewhere nice and quiet, away from people and we could be our normal selves there.”
“Really?” You can’t help but feel giddy inside, you bounce on the balls of your feet, “I would like that a lot.”
He steps closer and takes your hand, “This weekend then?”
You squeeze his hand gently, “Yes.”
He is getting closer now, “I’ll pick you up from your house.” He places his other hand on your waist.
“Uh-huh.” Your voice goes quiet, feel yourself moving closer.
His eyes move from your eyes to your lips, “We go have dinner, and then go watch a movie.”
“Y-yeah.” Your breath hitches as your lips meet with his. When you pull away, his eyes are slow to open after yours. He smiles down at you. “So, Saturday?”
“Saturday sounds nice.” He then escorts you out of the school to the parking lot, hand in hand.

The Drive-in Movie
With the help from @watchingpurpled
Minors DNI-This fic will be 18+!!
SUMMARY: Y/N and Eleven go to a drive-in movie together to watch Ghostbusters, then things start to get spicy as the movie goes on.😁😁
Tumblr media
WARNING: none yet-
Y/N’s perspective:
“So tonight? What time is the movie again?” I call El planning on when to go to the drive-in-movies.
We’ve been planning to watch Ghost Busters for a while, since El hasn’t really watched a movie, let alone in a drive-in movie. I also thought it would be fun because I just turned 16 and finally got my license, and I think it would impress her, since I’ve been having this heart-aching crush for forever now.
“Joyce says it’s at 9:00 pm, sharp. How are we gonna get there?” El speaks back, sounding nervous that plans will have to change.
“Well, I received my license last week for my birthday and have been saving it just for tonight, so I’ll pick you up!” I say enthusiastically, walking around my island counter with the phone’s cord almost near to ripping out of the wall. “I’ll even bring different snacks we can munch on during the movie!”
“Li-cense?” El talks into the phone confused, not knowing what that means.
To be fair, she’s a few months younger than me and I know her situation, with the Upside-Down and all, so I understand.
“A license is something that lets you drive a car without police issues.” I explain as I walk back to the base of the phone and twirling the cord in my hand.
“Oh… can I get a license?” El asks me.
I think it’s so cute that she doesn’t know everyday things because I can just bramble about stuff without her just going “mhm” and “yeah”, she just asks questions that I love to answer.
“No,” I respond. “but you’re able to get a permit, which means you can drive with someone that’s 16 or older, but when you turn 16, you can drive all by yourself! I can even teach you how to drive if you want!” I say enthusiastically, and then lean on the wall.
“But won’t police get mad? I don’t have a permit.” El responds.
“Oh! Well that’s ok, I’ll just say I’m giving you lessons, show my license, and they’ll just shrug it off and leave.” I explain, still fiddling with the phone cord.
“But anyways about the movie, I’ll pick you up and you can drive to the movie.”
“Me?” El asks confused.
“Yeah! I said I would teach you right? I’ll pick you up an hour early so we can try and drive a little beforehand, ok?” I plan out for her.
“Ok!” El says enthusiastically.
“I’ll see you then!”
“Ok!” I respond happily.
“See you later!”
Eleven’s perspective:
I hung up feeling excited for the night and hop into my bed and scream into my pillow. I always thought that Y/N is a cool person, one of the last to join our “gang” Mike calls it. I guess it’s another word for group. I wanted to ask what it meant, but I feel this weird feeling when I ask too many questions, to the point where I think I annoy some of the people in our “gang”.
I remember asking what a “sea-urchin” was while we were talking about our science class studies about the ocean, then Lucas was annoyed and said “it’s just a kind of aquatic spike ball, genius.” then Max yelled at him for it. Ever since I felt like asking questions is bad, but not around Y/N. I feel like I can ask as many questions I want around her. I don’t know what to wear for the drive-in movie though, it seems so important for this meet up, especially since it’s just us… just us.
=========================
Pt. 2
Y/N’s perspective:
I drive to Eleven’s house, kind of nervous. I’m nervous because it’s just gonna be us chilling together. Usually we’re around the gang, but I think it’s gonna be awkward even though we’re close friends. I drive up to her house rolling the window on the driver’s side and see her through the window, but quickly disappears and right at to door, waving goodbye to Joyce.
I put the car in park and get out the car for El to get into the driver’s seat with the car still on, and she happily hopped in, and I shut the door for her. I go to the other side and shut the door once I got in.
“Well you seem excited!” I say, putting on my seatbelt.
“Yeah… I’ve never really driven a car before…” El answered, caressing the wheel, beginning to feel nervous.
“Well, are you gonna make this kitty purr?” I say, patting the head of the car.
Eleven looked at me with a confused look not knowing what that meant.
“It’s a saying for driving, you know, when the engine purrs when you drive it or speed it up!” I explain to her.
“Oh.” Eleven responded, grasping onto the wheel and looking forward with a slight smile.
“Anyways, you ready?” I chuckle.
El looks around the car, trying to figure out how to make it start moving. I notice and immediately blush in embarrassment.
“Oh sorry! Uhm here’s the gear stick, it’s on park right now because it’s on the P, see? The P is for Park, the R is for reverse, the N is for Neutral, D for Drive, and L for Low. So put the gear stick on D like this!” I demonstrate how to move the stick, then move it back for her to try as she watches closely.
“Your turn!”
Eleven slowly grabs the gear stick and moves it to Drive.
“There, now there is pedals at your feet; clutch, brake, and accelerator in that order. You won’t need to mess with the clutch one much, but the other two sound like what they are. The brake is stop and the accelerator is go. Try slowly pressing on the accelerator with your foot while steering back onto the road.” I explain as I watch her look at the pedals and back to me.
She slowly presses on the accelerator and slowly steers the car into the street.
I watch as she slowly moves into the road and drives.
“You can go a little faster now.” I say gently as I point at the speed limit sign on the side of the road.
She slowly accelerates the car and goes the speed limit.
“Wow, you’re already a natural at this!” I say as I roll down my window and hang my hand out to enjoy the breeze.
“You see the bump in the distance? You gotta slow down when we’re closer to it to hit it.” I warn Eleven as she focuses on the road.
She slowly drives the car a long as we get closer, and we go over the speed bump.
“Wow, I’m impressed!” I say as she speeds up to the speed limit again.
“Do you think you can turn or do you need help?” I turn to look at Eleven for an answer.
“Maybe…” El says hesitantly.
“Here slow down and I’ll help you turn.”
She slows down and I place my hands onto her hands on the wheel.
=========================
Pt. 3
I feel Y/N’s hands place onto mine and I feel my face get hot. I knew my face was blushing and I tried to make it not so obvious. As soon as we go towards the turn, I let her take the lead and helped her turn the wheel a bit. We successfully turned and she let go of my hands on the wheel and got back to her own seat.
“I honestly thought that driving would be a lot harder than it looks.” I finally say as I take a quick look at Y/N, seeing she’s blushing a little bit too.
“Hah, yeah I thought so too.” Y/N said, rubbing her hands together and leans back in her seat.
I smile at her, continuing to drive and keeping a sharp eye out. We talk a bit while I drive, mostly about memories and other stuff about each other, it was really chill, and Y/N looks so good tonight. She’s also so sweet to me and is always so patient with me. We fall a little quieter as we arrive at the place, and my anxiety kicks in.
There’s so many people and kids, I don’t wanna run them over or anything. I start to breathe a little quicker, gripping the wheel a little tighter.
“Eleven?”
Y/N’s perspective:
I notice Eleven is starting to get tense and rest a hand on her shoulder, giving it a slight squeeze, causing her to jump.
“Eleven?” I say again, more gently.
She looks at me for a quick second, before back at the crowded dirt road.
“Oh! Sorry, there’s just a lot of people here, it’s a lot and I don’t wanna run anyone over…” She trailed off, thinking to herself.
I chuckle to myself and pull over to the wheel.
“That’s what the car horn is for!” I honk the car, causing the people and kids to jump and quickly get out of the way in surprise and slight fear.
Eleven sits there surprised, but laughed slightly. I looked back at her with a smile.
“What?? It always works!” I say, chuckling with her.
“She wipes her tears of laughter off her adorable tinted cheeks.
“It’s just really funny how they ran to the side of the road!” She giggled, before starting to drive again.
We find a spot and finally pulled in, turning off the car.
“Phew, finally.” I said as I reached in the back and grabbed a few bags.
“What’s that?” Eleven asked, looking at me with a seemingly soft expression, but still had her same curious expression mixed in.
“I said I‘ll get snacks and drinks.” I say with a smile.

This was a quick write and I put in my own experiences in. It’s a bit rushed but I ended up writing more then what I meant to 👀 pretty much I’m projecting my overstimulation on Eddie, plus I love to think Steve doesn’t just babysit the group but other smaller kids as well and he becomes very aware of their needs.
Just- Eddie gets overstimulated all the damn time and has to either bites something or does his overwhelmed bat hands. Flapping them aggressively as he runs away from a situation making Goblin noises. Before he’s putting his hands to his ears and just letting all the noises off from his chest. The amount of times he’s just done that with the group of hellfire boys, it’s become a normal thing. Garett, Jeff and Grant all got used to this years ago. So they knew about how the other got.
Meanwhile Dustin, Mike and Lucas could all get a tad overwhelming. Which is why the other boys all just decide to try and teach them that Eddie gets overstimulated really easily and it takes him more effort to understand peoples tones. Because he puts all his energy into that his tone sometimes doesn’t come off as friendly, and he doesn’t realize it half the time.
But anywho back to the being on course. All of them are somewhat used to it, and they are all shocked by how well Eddie is handling everything in the upside down. Besides a few clicking noises and popping noises he doesn’t run away from them. And when he looks like hes getting overwhelmed he has to close his eyes and rub his head back to hold himself back.
So when everything is finally done and the other is in the hospital. He’s so fucking overstimulated that he’s not even crying because of the pain anymore. The doctors don’t know what to do, not until they start to catch on and they try to help the other be as comfortable as possible. Then Eddie’s ok for a bit.
Then when he leaves the hospital, that’s when everything hits him all at once. It had always strained him a bit to hold himself back from doing what normally helps him with being overstimulated. So he has on and off days but soon enough it’s all good days and he’s with Robin and Steve. The two are energetic just like him but today he can feel himself getting overstimulated and he doesn’t want to embarrass himself. Though something on the radio turns to a high pitched static and robins making noise that doesn’t make since jumping up and down and holding her ears as Steve is quick to shut it off. Quickly and gently not touching her the best he can, moves and has her sit in the back room in the dark with a window open so she can breathe. He moves back out apoligizing to eddie who is really trying not to do the bat flap and just run away with goblin noises.
Steve looks at him and raises a eyebrow. You see he’s been helping Robin out for a while, plus he’s been babysitting smaller kids for a while and he doesn’t know what it’s called but he knows when someone’s getting overwhelmed. He moves over closer to the other as he hums. “Are your stims loud or are they quite?” He asks curiously. That’s what one of the parents used for their child, who was in the process of being diagnosed for autism. And it seemed to be the only word that would fit Robin and Eddie at the moment.
“My what?” Eddie asks confused.
“Stims? Oh shit sorry I have this kid who gets overwhelmed really easily, and well he does these things when he is. He does a bird flap with his hands, starts to click his tongue, whistle or just say certain words over and over again because he likes how they sound. His parents call them stims, and Robin has them as well when she gets overwhelmed and you have the same face that the kid I babysit gets when he’s trying to act normal so- that and the kids told me you apparently turn goblin sometimes.” Steve explains looking at the other with curiousity.
And if Eddie wasn’t about to cry from how overwhelming everything was he would shamelessly fall in love with the other. No one’s ever treated what he has done normal for the first time he does it in his life. Though he’s quick to stammer out a sentence. Breathing picking up. “I get loud.”
“Well, Robin gets overwhelmed by loud or i else I would let you chill with her.” Steve frowns. “What normally helps?” He asks curiously. And Eddie flushed.
“I don’t know.”
“Ok- um come here. The kid I babysit when he gets overwhelmed really likes to cuddle. Maybe you’re the same?” Steve hums and Eddie’s face is flushing as he moves shamelessly over. If the other thought he could help then he would take it. He would cry if it didn’t work.
Steve moves letting the other in and he pulls the other into a warm hug gently rubbing his back and playing with his curls. It was a little overwhelming at first but when Eddie finally lets himself have a moment to close his eyes and breath, Steve’s the first person to properly bring him down. Though Steve does ask him what it means for him to turn “goblin” so he does end up making the noises he normally does acting as if he was saying normal words. Steve doesn’t laugh and nods his head as he helps the other to the best of his abilities.
When Robin comes out shes a little tired but a lot better. Eddie finally lets go when he feels better and Steve hums. “Weighted blankets normally help that kid I was telling you about, if you want I have a extra if you want it.”
And boy does Eddie fall in love.

Wingman Nancy 5
hey @an-entity-i-think how does it feel being a psychic?
“If it matters at all, I hate this”, Nancy said.
“Noted”, Eddie replied.
“I don’t know if I’m on board with our mediator”, Robin said. “Was Argyle not available? Or...Will? Or Lucas?”
“I gotta say, I didn’t intend to spend my day like this either”, Hopper blew a puff of smoke as he stood on the porch of his cabin. “You said this was an emergency”, he pointed the statement to Eddie.
The four teens stood outside Hopper’s cabin, waiting to be let in.
“It is”, Steve said.
“I fail to see how teen relationship drama is any of my business.”
“Because relationship dynamics effect the group as a whole”, Eddie explained. “And if Nancy Wheeler falls apart because her heart is broken then your whole squadron of monster hunters is severely crippled!”
Hopper didn’t look impressed. Or convinced. “You’re not gonna get off my porch until I let you in, huh?”
Very reluctantly, Hopper allowed them inside. Everyone else was out and about on this lovely Saturday morning, leaving him alone. Well, alone until the Hormone Brigade invaded.
“So what exactly is the issue? And before you start, are you absolutely sure you don’t want Murray to weigh in?”
“No!”, Steve and Nancy yelled at once.
Hopper held his hands up and sat down in the well-used chair in his living room. Nancy took the other chair, Steve and Robin took the loveseat, Eddie sat on an ottoman.
It was silent for about thirty seconds as Hopper looked at each of them.
“You know I actually can’t help until I know what the problem is.”
Eddie looked to Nancy expectantly and she just glared at him. Steve bit his lip as he spoke up.
“It’s kind of...complicated.”
Hopper’s brow furrowed. “Complicated how?” He then looked to Nancy, then Robin. “Please tell me you didn’t let one of these duds knock you up?”
Eddie cackled so hard he fell backward off the ottoman and the others allowed themselves to smile. Somehow that issue seemed simpler than the real one. Robin let out a breath, feeling some tension already released.
“So um, you remember how Will uh, you remember how he told everyone that he’s...he’s into guys?”
Hopper nodded slowly.
“Well...surprise!”, Robin said weakly with the most pathetic jazz hands.
“Oh, oh okay then”, Hopper replied. “But what’s the got to do with....”, he trailed off when he looked at Nancy, who’s eyes were flitting from ceiling to floor to wall. “Ah, okay, well, now what do you-” He was about to ask Steve, only to follow Steve’s gaze to Eddie, who was looking right back at him like they were the only ones in the room.
Hopper let out a long breath and slouched in his chair a bit. “Right, that does make things a little...complicated.”
“That’s not really the issue here”, Nancy said. “Since we’re all...you know. It’s not a compatibility issue it’s just...baggage.”
“A lot of baggage”, Robin agreed.
“Can I get the short version?”, Hopper asked.
So Steve started the story with him and Nancy. He told Hopper how they had been dating, he thought they were happy, but then had a nasty breakup. Robin wanted to date Nancy but was having second thoughts because of how things ended between her and Steve. When the bare bones were explained, Hopper turned to Eddie.
“And what exactly is your horse in this race?”
“Me? I just wanna jump on Steve’s horse, sir.”
Steve tossed a throw pillow at Eddie so hard he fell back onto the floor again. “Eddie and I aren’t really, involved. But this is happening to our friends. We want to help. I just want Robin to know that I’m okay and I’m not against her dating Nancy.”
“You guys talked about it?”, Nancy asked.
“Yeah. Didn’t you talk to someone about me?”, Robin asked.
“I-we-”, Nancy glanced at Eddie. “That’s different. We had to make a plan.”
“Wait, you guys planned this?”, Steve looked to Eddie.
“Nancy thought she couldn’t make any moves on Robs while you were still single. And I happened to be available and very, very willing~”
“So you were thinking of Steve’s feelings”, Robin pressed. “I mean, this time you were.”
“I...”, Nancy turned her eyes to Steve. “I wasn’t thinking of how you would’ve felt, when I hooked up with Jonathan. I convinced myself you wouldn’t care, that you’d just go on to the next girl like you always did. I thought what we had wasn’t real because how could it be? Everything you said and I, I was sure you did it for other girls.”
“You were a serial dater, Steve”, Eddie added.
“Well Steve? What do you have to say about that?”, Hopper asked. The Harrington reputation got around.
“I meant everything I did with you Nancy. Yeah, a lot of it was just the usual boyfriend stuff and yeah I did things for other girls like, got ‘em flowers, or drove them around in my car, but isn’t a boyfriend supposed to do that?”
“A boyfriend is also supposed to know when his girlfriend is grieving.” Nancy’s eyes hardened.
“I knew that, that’s why I was trying to keep your mind off it.”
“I didn’t want to keep my mind off it! I wanted to think about it, wanted to do something about it. You just wanted to push everything down!”
“Nancy, it was over! If I had known that it was-that it was something that could come back, maybe I would’ve wanted to talk about it but it was supposed to be in the past!”
“But it wasn’t in the past for me. Especially when they were lying about Barb, I couldn’t let them get away with it. Steve, think about our friends now. If Max had died fighting Vecna and the government covered it up, would you have let them? Would you have just forgot about it?”
“Nancy....I didn’t understand back then what you were going through with Barb. And I’m sorry.”
Robin put a hand on Steve’s shoulder. He put his hand on top of hers and shared a smile with her.
“You have to promise me”, he said to Nancy, “That whatever you’re doing with my Robin is serious. You’re not just going for her because you’re experimenting, or trying to break out of a cookie-cutter life, or anything like that.”
“Steve, I never meant to hurt you-”
“But you did. You just came back after that tunnel shit and you and Jonathan were a thing. And I had to act like I was okay with it. Do you know what it’s like, watching someone you love with someone else?”
“Yeah”, Eddie, Robin, and Hopper said.
Nancy’s eyes were glistening a little. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry for disappearing on you like that, for not ending things cleanly, and...and for calling you bullshit. I feel like I see better now. Maybe it wouldn’t have worked out for us in the end, but you would’ve given it your all, wouldn’t you?”
“If you had let me, yeah”, Steve smiled.
Nancy gave a light laugh as she looked down at her lap, shaking her head. “Six kids and a winnebago.”
“I’m sorry, what?”, Robin’s eyes got wide.
“The hell does that mean?”, Eddie asked while Steve put his face in his hands.
“Please don’t tell them. I’ll never live it down.”
Hopper cleared his throat. “Seems like we’re close to finishing so let’s wrap this up. Steve and Nancy both apologized, so Robin? Anymore hang-ups?”
Robin held Steve’s hand, intertwining their fingers. “If he can forgive you after all that...well let’s just say his title ‘King of Second Chances’ is pulling a lot of weight here. If this reformed, prom king jock asshole says you’re worth the heartbreak, then yeah. No more hang-ups.”
“There was a compliment somewhere in there, I’m sure of it”, Steve said.
“So, I get a second chance?”, Nancy asked.
“Tuesday is discount movie day”, Robin beamed. “We could get a double feature.”
“And while the girls are away, the boys can play”, Eddie rubbed his hands together while looking at Steve.
“Oh I’m so glad this ended happily ever after. Now get out of my house”, Hopper pointed to the door.
----------------------------------------
l0st-strawberry explicitly said they were being a good boy so you guys get steddie’s date night
Steve checked the time. Robin was being picked up by Nancy right about now and Eddie was due to arrive any moment. He looked himself over in the mirror, hoping he didn’t come off as too ‘date-ready’. This was supposed to be a casual hangout between two buddies.
Except Steve was 60% sure Eddie was into him. Either that, or he was trying to learn his ‘jock language’ as Robin had called it. Helping him practice with Lucas, going out on jogs, flattering him about his muscles, it was totally out of character for Eddie.
But if he was trying to get on Steve’s good side....and if he was doing that because he liked him then...
There were the little touches too, small things he did that could just be friendly but....well Steve really hoped there was a ‘but’.
He heard the doorbell ring and checked himself over again. He was wearing a green polo and some jeans.
“Very simple, very casual”, he said to himself in the mirror. “You’ve got this Harrington.”
The bell rang again and he tore himself from the mirror to answer the door. He let Eddie in and they went right to the TV.
“Alright, on three, whip ‘em out”, Eddie said when they sat down on the couch.
Steve rolled his eyes at the wording, but on 3, pulled a movie from behind his back. They had agreed on an exchange, both picked a movie they wanted to share with the other.
“Question, why does it not have a cover?”, Steve asked. It was just a title.
“Because what I have here is an extremely rare bootleg. And I see you’ve picked a classic yourself.”
“Rock paper scissors for which we watch first?”
Steve ended up losing, so they were going to watch Eddie’s movie first.
“You go ahead and put it in, I’ll get the popcorn and drinks”, Steve said.
Since he was walking away, Eddie let himself stare at his very valuable assets before going to put the movie in and get it started. He could do this. He could be smooth and flirtatious and totally get Steve Harrington to fall in love with him.
Steve knew when someone’s eyes were on him and couldn’t help but smile to himself for his choice in jeans. “Beer or coke?”, he half-shouted from the kitchen.
“Coke!”, Eddie answered back.
Steve returned with a bowl of popcorn and two cokes. When he sat down, there was about a foot of space between him and Eddie. Eddie closed the space a little by putting his arm across the back of the couch. Every time, Steve took a sip and put his can back on the coffee table, he moved just the teensiest bit closer to Eddie.
“So this is a bootleg?”, Steve asked.
“Yeah. Got it off a guy when me and the boys were doin’ a gig one night. You can’t find this anywhere.”
“You like stuff like that? Rarities?”
“I wouldn’t call myself a collector by any means. But if I find something good and I think I’ll never see it again, I can’t help myself.”
Steve bit his lip. He wanted to be that for Eddie. Something he just couldn’t help himself around.
“You know, I’m kinda like that. When I see something good, I go for it.” Steve turned a little towards him.
“Oh yeah?”, Eddie grinned, any feigned interest in the movie completely gone now. “Do tell.”
“You know, sometimes I want a pair of shoes, I got for it. Or if I really want a position on a team, I go for it.”
“Got any relatable examples?”, Eddie asked, turning his own body towards Steve.
“Every time I’ve liked a girl, I asked her out. There was only one time I didn’t.”
Eddie swallowed. “What stopped you, Steve the Hair Harrington, from asking out a girl?”
“.....It wasn’t a girl.”
Eddie gulped again. “Shit.”
Steve met his eyes, trying to assess if that was a good ‘shit’ or a bad ‘shit’. Eddie could see he was trying to read him and smiled.
“Still not hearing a reason why you wouldn’t ask.”
Steve let out a breath and ran a hand through his hair like he had really been sweating Eddie’s reaction. Like Eddie would run out this house just because he liked guys.
“Well, even if I asked, I’m not sure he’d say yes. See, I still can’t tell which part of me he likes.”
“I mean, if he’s into guys, typically they’re into one specific part”, Eddie’s eyes drifted to Steve’s crotch before rocketing back to his face.
“Okay you perv, I mean my personality. Like, would he be into King Steve? Or is he more into the Steve I am now?”
“Are you still King Steve?”, Eddie asked.
“Not...entirely. But I still do things I did from back then. I work out and Robin calls me a meathead. I hang out with nerds but I can’t for the life of me get interested in Dungeons, no offense.”
“None taken”, Eddie shrugged. “We can’t all have taste.”
Steve rolled his eyes. “I’m saying, sometimes it feels like I haven’t changed. So how can I ask this guy out? What if he still thinks I’m that guy? What if he wants that guy?”
Eddie wanted to kiss the sadness right off his face. “Steve?”
“Yeah?”
“I want you. All of you.”
Steve felt his heart quicken. His arm rested against the back of the couch. “Even the me that goes for jogs at 6 in the morning?”
“I will be up at 9 to have breakfast with you.”
“And if I never, ever, ever get into that game with you guys?”
“I could think”, Eddie started while letting his fingers walk up Steve’s arm, “of some other games I’d like to play with you.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
Their knees were touching now and Eddie had walked his fingers up to Steve’s bicep. Eddie bit his lip. Then made his fingers tap dance on Steve’s skin while he scatted.
Steve giggle-snorted and then leaned into Eddie’s space. “You’re such a dork.”
“Hmm, but a cute dork, perhaps?”
“Cute, some might even say hot.”
“Now who would say that?”, Eddie grinned with a shake of his head.
“Eddie.”
“Hm?”
“Kiss me.”
“O-okay.”
Eddie closed the very short distance between them and kissed Steve, finally. The next thing he felt was Steve’s very strong hands on his waist.
“Damn”, he breathed out.
“Sorry”, Steve pulled back a little. “Too much? I’ve never-mmf.”
Eddie nipped any second guesses with a kiss. “Stevie baby, this is just the tip of the iceberg of what I wanna do to you.” He felt him give a little shiver and Eddie licked his lips. “You like when I call you baby?”
Yes, Steve liked it but he wasn’t gonna say that out loud so he just kissed him again. He also liked Eddie’s little promise. He wanted the whole iceberg, whatever that meant. Eddie pressed more into him and Steve let himself be pushed down onto the couch. Steve had been under girls a few times but typically he was the one on top. And even when they were, usually they were smaller than him. He’d never been under someone like Eddie, someone who was nearly the same size.
His weight, combined with Eddie’s hair falling over like a curtain and the kisses that never let up and Steve felt like he was drowning in the man and he never wanted to come up for air. Eddie’s knee came up a little between his legs and Steve couldn’t stop the way his hips jumped to meet Eddie’s, who let out a hiss of pleasure just as the phone began to ring.
“It’s just telemarketers. Ignore it”, Eddie said.
“At this hour? I doubt it. I should-”
“Stay here and be kissed by me?” Eddie gave his lips a peck. “Wait, I think I missed a spot.” He kissed him again and got a little bold, starting to kiss his jawline.
Steve let out a gasp and was halfway to letting Eddie’s lips find their way wherever they wanted when all the worst what-ifs came to mind. With a sigh, he pushed Eddie away and got up, jogging over to the phone before whoever it was hung up.
He picked up and heard Robin’s voice.
“Please tell me I just interrupted you and Eddie running a marathon.”
Steve took a moment to catch his breath.  “You knew what might be happening when you called. By the way why are you calling? Your date with Nancy finished already?” He checked the time. The movie was sure to be done by now but would they have ended the date right after?
“Oh we’re finished alright.”
Steve frowned. “That doesn’t sound good. What happened?”
“Are you sure it’s more important than Eddie’s blue balls right now?”
He had the decency to blush. “Robin you’re way more important than Eddie’s balls.”
“Hey!”, Eddie looked up from the couch. “I heard that Harrington!”
With a broad smile, he turned to look at Eddie.  “She’s more important than your dick too!”
“Steve, you have no idea how much that means to me.”
Robin didn’t sound right. Something really bad must’ve happened during her date.  He turned his back on Eddie as he spoke again.
“I mean it. If you wanna talk I can send Eddie home and you can come. Or I’ll go to you.” He’d drop anything for Robin and hopefully Eddie would understand that.
“Your courting suitor won’t mind being booted?”
Once again, Steve turned around and saw Eddie, watching him with a dopey smile on his face.
“No, I don’t think he’ll mind “, he twirled the cord around his finger. “I’m like….85% sure he’s super into me and will let me get away with anything.”
“We can talk tomorrow. You know, when he’s not humping your leg.”
“First thing in the morning”, Steve promised. “Good night.”
“Night, Steve.”
Steve hung up and was able to give his full attention to Eddie, who was still staring at him.
“85% sure, huh?”
“Give or take a few percents”, Steve sat back down on the couch.
“So, what’re we gonna do now?”
“Well, your movie finished. Let’s start mine.”
It was all a cover, for what neither knew because as soon as it started playing, they were making out again. Then the movie ended and before Eddie could even suggested heading home, Steve was pulling him upstairs.
“It’s late. And I bet you’re tired, right?”
“Yeah, tired, yeah”, Eddie said as he found himself in Steve’s room. He then found himself in Steve’s bed, wearing Steve’s clothes, kissing Steve again. Kissing his beautiful, spotted neck again and pulling out sounds he only dreamed of.
Steve was a delicious combination of nervous but eager which paired great with Eddie’s eager but nervous energy. What started as not-so-innocent kissing lead to definitely-not-innocent handjobs and Eddie was pretty sure he died and went to heaven.
When morning came, the heaven thing still made more sense because where else would he wake up with his face buried in Steve’s hairy chest?
Steve took heaven away when he got up and had to go to Robin. But Eddie sucked it up and decided to seek out Nancy. If not to make sure she and Robin were fine, then to assure his and Steve’s alone time didn’t get interrupted again.
Part 7 (END)
I chose Hopper because he literally could not give a shit in any way or form. Everybody else they know would have an opinion or a bias.

My Amateur Attempt at a Mike Wheeler Analysis (S1, E1):
WARNING: This is a very Mike-defensive analysis! I will be (over)analyzing every Mike scene, episode by episode, but if you’re looking for completely unbiased analyses, this is not where you’ll find them! He is one of my favorite TV characters of all time and I’m sick of all the hate, so I wanted to just put my view of him up somewhere. Also, I ship both Mileven and Byler, but I prefer Byler quite a bit more, so this will mainly be Byler-focused, and I will touch on some of Mike’s queer-coding as well.
Season 1, Episode 1:
Mike is playing DnD with Will, Dustin, and Lucas, acting as the DM. This is an early testament to his intelligence and imagination, as well as his role of leader in the party. When Mike is told to stop playing, he argues with his mom, showing his stubbornness and dedication to the game (and the campaign he took 2 weeks to plan). Then, he sees off his friends, making sure they all leave safely. I love this detail, as it shows how much he cares for his friends at such a young age (I mean, how many 11/12 year olds do you know who would do that?). Thanks to the conversation the boys have about Nancy as they are leaving, we also learn that he and Nancy used to have an okay sibling-relationship, but that hasn’t been the case since at least 4 years ago. As Will is leaving, he tells Mike the truth about the dice-roll, “It was a seven,” and I know this is a little detail, but I like that we can see that Will does not want to lie to Mike, maybe a hint towards how different their relationship/friendship is.
When we next see Mike, it is at breakfast the next morning, and he is putting syrup on his eggs, which grosses out Nancy, and he does the typical younger-sibling move of putting syrup on her eggs too just to annoy her. This same morning, when the boys (minus Will, obv) show up at school and Will is not there, Mike makes a worried comment about it, but the other two boys don’t seem as worried. Then they get intercepted by their bullies, being called “Frog-face”, “Midnight”, and “Toothless”, and after Dustin is targeted by the bullies, Mike tries to comfort him by saying his disability is like he has superpowers. This shows his love for Dustin through his want to defend him, even if it’s not defending him to the bullies’ faces, rather defending him from his own insecurities. This showcasing of Mike’s love comes back into play multiple times throughout the season. I’d also like to point out that Mike decided at a young age to surround himself with “freaks” (Lucas because of his race, Dustin because of his disability, and Will because of his queer traits) despite being relatively normal himself. Now, this might just be because he was originally supposed to have a birthmark on his face and that was supposed to be his “freak-ish” trait, or that he just didn’t realize he was doing this because he obviously doesn’t see these things as bad, but I thought it was still interesting to point out.
When Mr. Clarke shows the boys the radio after class, we learn that Mike is the president of the AV club, then they are taken to talk with Hopper about Will’s case. Mike takes the lead in answering Hop’s questions, now this may just be because Hop calls on him specifically, but I’d like to think it’s also a way to show Mike as the leader of the group. He is the one to bring up helping look for Will, and we can see how serious he is about this because when he is denied this, and Dustin and Lucas start bickering, Mike looks completely annoyed.
He doesn’t give up on this want to help look for Will either, as we see him arguing with Karen about the same thing during dinner, and he still looks extremely annoyed and worried when denied again. When Nancy blames “Will getting lost” for not being able to leave the house, Mike immediately gets very defensive of Will, and outs Nancy’s new relationship with Steve. He looks very proud of himself after this until Ted speaks up with “You see what happens?”, which causes Mike to get defensive all over again, this time exclaiming that he’s the only one who cares about Will, then storming off from the dinner table. Now, I want to touch on Ted’s comment here, because really what other than Will’s “queerness” could he be commenting on here? And this shows us, 1) what type of views Mike’s grown up around, and 2) that Ted must believe there is a chance that Mike shares the same “queerness” as Will. After storming off, Mike goes to the basement, then seemingly after some time staring at the DnD board, he contacts Lucas about going to find Will despite being told not to so many times. By doing this, he directly puts himself and the others in danger, and we know he’s aware of this due to how he convinced Lucas to join him.
We see Mike leave the house, and after joining with the boys, even when it starts to rain, Mike is the most determined to keep going into the woods to search. He’s also very obviously being the leader of the group at this time, making sure to tell the other two to keep close and stay on the same radio channel just in case. When they are walking deeper into the woods, we see Mike in the middle and at the front, then he’s also the first to hear the rustling of the leaves, so he gets the boys to shut up. Then they find Eleven!
There's my episode 1 deep dive! If anyone finds anything explicitly wrong, or wants to add anything, please let me know! Also, if you're interested in me doing more, please tell me, because this is completely self-indulgent, but if others enjoy it I will try even harder! Also, I am completely new to Tumblr, so pls be nice
