Ok so imagine: yan Chai punk ghost flower (pavitr, hobbie, Gwen, miles) sharing but platonic
And here I thought I would never have to write for Gwen /sarc/I still don't like her-
No Tw I think- other than implied yan type thoughts/feelilngs?
So here's like each Yan's role in the yan friend group-
Miles: He's really hesitant on acting on his feelings because he knows they’re problematic and wrong, but he slowly slips into his obsession. Istg you could say hi to him like a normal friend and he's standing there screaming internally from nervousness. Basically the awkward friend.
Gwen: Mom friend in a different form. The easiest way to explain it I guess is kind of a more stern mom friend. Like if you get hurt or something she'll call you an idiot but proceed to treat your wounds to the max.
Pavitr: The one inviting you to hangouts and constantly wanting to spend time with you. He's also the one to want to know a lot about you so if you ever wanna info dump or just talk about your interests he's your man (or Miles).
Hobie: The one who'll do the daring and nervewracking stuff for you if you don't wanna do it or need to see someone to do it before. Honestly, he gives cool uncle vibe. He'll also be the one getting you lots of stuff because either you're broke or it's just easier for him to get.
(This was more fun than I expected haha)

You want Tuvok asks?? Okay, I'll send some from time to time now lol
Can I have some uhhh Tuvok & Kes mentoring relationship analysis and maybe hcs?
Personally, I think... we all know Kes sees parts of her father in Tuvok etc right but hc that Tuvok also sees parts of Asil in Kes? Anyway, your turn. Don't worry about writing "too much", no such thing when it comes to you!!
Tumblr media
YEAAAH TUVOK ASK!!! I hide it well so few people know this but I actually like Tuvok quite a bit so this ask was very much welcome, thank you!! <3
KES!!!! Tuvok's one true daughter (other than Asil, his actual one true daughter) in my mind!!!! I wish more of the show actually showed their mentorship. Like him and Kes on an away mission or there being a 'student becomes the teacher' moment as her powers grow. I imagine a scene where Kes teaches a patient who's in pain a breathing technique to calm him down as she bandages him up and revealing that Tuvok taught her that technique! I also like the thought of aliens mistaking them for being the same species due to their pointed ears and telepathic abilities. The Kes-Tuvok dynamic also provides more opportunities to learn about their families and upbringings and values since they both seem like fairly introspective people. I can imagine Kes earnestly wanting to learn about and engage with Vulcan culture. That's a similarity between her and Neelix, a fascination with others, but Kes is calmer and Tuvok would be more open to talking with her about it because he knows she's not gonna make a big fuss, hehehe~ I would put a scene in the Elogium episode where she talked to Tuvok about it and he mentioned (obliquely) the pon farr and tried to comfort her. (She promises to keep this a secret - it's not to be spoken about!) There'd also be some little tidbits about his kids...hate that the only thing we really know about them is that there are four, Sek studies music and they were "well behaved" as children. And that last bit might be an exaggeration on Tuvok's part. I wish Kes was just in general more part of the crew. She's really only ever seen in sickbay even though she was introduced as very adventurous and curious and wanting to "peer into every crack in the universe". I can imagine a scene where Kes is doing something dangerous and Tuvok's watching her and Janeway's like "haha it's nervewracking, sitting back and doing nothing isn't it?" and Tuvok's like "I have no nerves to 'wrack', captain but this experience is....familiar." <- Sometimes you have to watch your kids fuck around so they can find out Episode where Kes & Tuvok are able to telepathically communicate despite being in completely different areas of the ship and so are able to coordinate and fight back against some invading aliens. I'd add a continuing subplot between Harry & Kes where they are like the unofficial/official proteges of Janeway and Tuvok respectively and playfully tease each other or argue about it. Secretly competitive A+ students though they're motivated by different things. Kes by her curiosity and Harry by a desire to prove himself.
I can imagine them having a moment where they talk about the weirdness of aging differently from everyone else. <- Episode where Kes is frustrated with everyone treating her like a kid. Tuvok doesn't experience this of course but I do wonder about a Vulcan's view on aging while surrounded by people who are both significantly younger than you but also your peers? This conversation veers quickly into death and loss. Kes who will die naturally long before anyone else and Tuvok who will die naturally long after everyone else. Scene where Kes tries to get the doctor to meditate (comedy) Scene where Kes learns how to telepathically shift the air so that she can hover above the ground. (comedy, it's not very useful except if they need to scout something she can slowly 'fly' high enough to see it but it takes SO much energy.) I can imagine Tuvok seeing a lot of his own children in Kes. I imagine having to teach your children how to use their telepathic powers is a near lifelong process for a Vulcan which he relives in his formal mentorship with Kes. Kes tells Janeway that Tuvok is "devoted to" T'Pel which makes me imagine him talking to Kes about her...showing how close they are, that he trusts her with that information and feels comfortable talking about his family to her...or that Kes is observant enough to pick up on the devotion he feels even though he doesn't divulge much. Waaa. Headcanon that Tuvok keeps a candle burning for Kes even several years after her departure and thinks about her often, the same way he thinks of his family. Headcanon that very occasionally Tuvok will be able to 'feel' Kes' presence. (Usually when he's alone) He attempts at times to communicate with her if she is 'around' long enough but whatever he gets in return he is not able to parse. He wonders if he ever will be. He's grateful that she tries regardless. One time he feels it when with Neelix is able to perform a sort of double telepathic telephone where Neelix can receive the message as well: He is similarly unable to parse it but he cries tears of joy anyway. Tuvok doesn't understand why but Neelix says it's ok so fine. Tuvok is the only person besides the doctor who Kes can talk about her weird medical dead people surgery stuff with!! (He isn't particularly eager but he's not gonna turn her away). There's awkwardness between them after the Tuvix situation (Because Tuvix was attracted to her) but they clear it up (Tuvok is not attracted to her) and everything's fine again. Kes teaches Tuvok how to sew. Tuvok later uses this to mend Naomi's flotter doll and also create a parachute during some sort of death defying stunt he has to pull along with the rest of the crew. Kes has medical papers published in Voyager's database which are widely circulated upon reaching the alpha quadrant and are used frequently by Tom when he has to do a medical thing because Kes created 'Tom Notes' which are just simplifying a bunch of the medical jargon in many of Voyager's papers. She called them 'Tom Notes' bc he's the only nurse and definitely not to poke fun <3 <- She's mischievous as she is helpful! Tuvok has seen her snacking on bugs multiple times as they tend to the plants in the airponics bay and he does think it's weird but he doesn't comment on it so she thinks he hasn't seen v_v

Hello!! I wanted to ask some advice 😞 I have a fic idea but I've never posted any writing before and its like a very very specific band au and I'm scared no one will care to read it because of how much music context it requires 😭 I really admire your writing so like...what do you suggest...
(Also super excited for next kickoff ! I've never been this invested in a fic)
hii my love!! omg a band au sounds like so much funnn are you kiddinggg i would eat that UPPP. my advice would be to just go ahead n write it!!! it's super nervewracking to share work, especially if you've never shared before, so for the time being you can just write w the idea that no one else will read it except for yourself! that'll help you establish a healthy relationship w your writing & your hobby in general even before you post should you choose to post
as for the specificity n music context, i personally think thats SO FUCKIN RAD!!! i love a story where i can enjoy a romance but also have aspects outside of it that i can learn something new from or take something away from. i have read some pretty incredible fics & books, but the ones that have always had a lasting impact on me are the ones i went into knowing nothign ab a specific something, but then i leave it feeling like i've learned something i wouldn't have ever known before!!
it's a totally valid feeling though, esp in fanfiction where you might think readers want to read ab only their fave characters or specifically romance. i felt this way a lot with including the film major & photography aspect to kickoff, i feared readers would find it boring and would just want to read ab gojo x reader. i think in ch9, gojo only had like 40% of the chapter screentime and didn't even make his first appearance until like 5k words into the chapter, but i'm still really happy w the chapter and the response i got was great too. i see some of my writer mutuals break the norms n experiments w their stories all the time too, and honestly, i think that makes for some of the BEST and most MEMORABLE stories :)
as for fears that people may not see your story, i totally get that. keep in mind, i think the jjk fandom specifically doesn't really have too many long fics, at least compared to what i've seen in other fandoms, n tends to steer towards oneshot content (i could be wrong ab this but it's just what i've noticed! at least on tumblr. long fics always get lots of love on ao3 tho) so don't worry too much if you're not getting as many notes or reblogs etc as some other authors, bc if you choose to post series content, then you'll technically be in a niche category for this specific fandom. BUT i have noticed that the quality of interactions w longer stories is very amazing and totally worth being a part of this writing community for that reason!!
when i first started posting, i really didn't know what to expect since the last time i had a fanfic blog was for like two months when i was 12 on deviantart LOL. and now i'm just extremely blown away n humbled by the support. but that's the thing- you'll never ever know unless you try! again, just write and picture it that you're the only one that's going to read it, so put all that juicy music context in there n really write w that passion in mind!! (i'm assuming you're into music or bands n that's your inspiration? don't be afraid to let that interest show!!) and that's really the only thing you need to get started, after that it's just simply copy pasting n then posting :)
if you do get around to posting or sharing it then feel free to tag me bb!! i'd love to read it n support you. good luck to u n much love!! <33 i hope this helps in anyway
and thank you for looking forward to kickoff :)
ps. in case you want any specific writing advice i have some on my page here (sorry bb i just realized i wasn't sure if you were asking for actual concrete writing advice haha my bad if i misinterpreted)

what are some of your furina headcanons? they can be about anything really, you're just the only person who gets her :3
im super fond of bigender furina, personally, since i see myself alot in her (i think im slowly becoming a furina kinnie /half joking), and ive already mentioned liking neuvillette being her adopted father (so much so i keep forgetting her real name isn't furina de neuvillette lol)
🐌.
OUGHGHG YAYYYY SOMEONE IS ASKING ME TO TALK ABOUT FURI MY LOVE YEAHHHH omg. okay. furi headcanons. these might change (i haven't finished her story quest yet!) but for now...
starting off angstful strong, i believe she has severe identity issues. she does not know anything about herself because she has long since lost everything to the role she had to play. being suddenly thrust into freedom, while she has waited for it for so long, was jarring and nervewracking for her. she "barely leaves the house" because she prefers to stay in while she tries to calm down and become more comfortable in her freedom.
furina sometimes accidentially dips back into her old dramatic flair (she's still dramatic, but in a more... traditional way; i.e., huffing and pouting when she gets exposed for not being able to cook yet, things like that). the fact that she does it doesn't upset her or anything, it's just instinct HAHA it can be kind of funny and lighthearted sometimes!
she instinctively wants to help solve people's problems to try and make up for her perceived inadequacy as the hydro archon.
she adopts many (okay maybe not many. maybe like. one) cats to keep her company c:
she's generally very softspoken now. in a way, i suppose this is canon? but what i mean when i mention this as a hc is that she's very gentle and mild in terms of her mannerisms now. she's still got quite the amount of sass to her, do NOT misunderstand /lh, but overall she's very reserved and polite. largely bc she's still recovering mentally, but also because i believe her to be a very kind and empathetic and sensitive soul (i mean... she was sobbing at poisson following the disaster. she still carries that guilt. she IS kind and empathetic and sensitive).
i think she would get along with children really well!
she's some unspecified kind of nonbinary, but in the "i honestly forgot wtf gender is after 500 years. gender was NOT my biggest concern" way. or genderfluid (haha get it. B. Because um. h. hydro archon. Fluid)
furina still greatly loves and adores the arts. she just doesn't want to be too deeply involved in them anymore (as one of the cast). she WILL be moved to tears if she sees a particularly sad opera
she would get along with lyney tbh.
also venti. i want them to meet in person. i want him to help her grow into her freedom. he IS the god of freedom, after all. who better to help her?
OH SPEAKING OF VENTI they would also get along just because he's a bard!!!! so many stories flow from his lips all the time!!!!!!!! for furi, it would be a fun change of pace from the operas and plays!!!!!
i feel like she and nahida would also get along on a super personal level. both of them were technically trapped for 500 years. furina's people believed in her, while nahida's did not... but really, what difference does that make when they were both trapped in one way or another?

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Spread the self-love ❤️
Hey thank you! I only have 6 on my ao3 haha but here are my top 5 + thoughts
like the green fig tree - rated T - Dame Aylin's experience in the Shadowfell: reality, dreams, memories, and finally a dual-branching present. I just really like this one :)
such devastation (FFXIV) - Venat/Athena rated M - Hydaelyn enters the Heart of Sabik during the Ultima battle to confront Athena head-on. My husband's concept that we plotted together + I did the writing for. I'm always surprised this pairing's not bigger (my fic's one of only two in the tag!) they're canonic inverses of each other and sooo ripe for drama and exploration. A lot of their dialogue is referencing lyrics from Athena's boss battle song.
forging a new pact (or trying to, anyway) - Mizora/Tav rated E - Tav trying to make a sneaky contract mid-sex. This was the first fanfic I wrote in a decade, because the other Mizora fics were making her too good at sex. I had to take matters into my own hands. It's not stellar but it broke my fanfic-writing ice, and was also the first explicit fic I'd written period.
a spider's lyre - Alfira/Minthara rated E - AU where Alfira survives Durge & joins the party, which catalyzes Minthara to work through some hard emotions. Very fun to write & unexpectedly led to some really lovely friendships + mutualships. also, I'm so entrenched in this AU now that I get jumpscared when I see durge/dead Alfira content. I think I rewired my own brain to believe she survives :(
a house divided - Minthara/Florrick rated E - Minthara reacting poorly to being served divorce papers, based on teefling's ship + patchwork_author's modern AU (fanfiction of fanfiction...). I loveee bougie AUs, I could read all day about bg3 characters (or ffxiv) tangled up in Big Little Lies style drama and it was very fun to tackle writing that myself. This is also the first time I had anyone besides my husband beta read for me, a little nervewracking but it helped soo much.

omg you’re in creative writing?? thats what i want to major in after i do my basics here in my home town!!
what’s it like?? idk anyone who’s been in a creative writing class (i’m the only one in my family that likes to write for fun lmao) so i have no one to go to for questions!
is it super hard and like,,,very demanding?? if that makes sense?? do you get to write some of your own stuff or do you have to follow a certain prompt/story line..?
feel free to ignore if you don’t want to answer! no hard feelings :))
I love it, but it was definitely nervewracking for me at first!
My school doesn't offer creative writing as a major but we do have a certificate program, which is four classes that start with like "intro to creative writing" and get a bit more specific as you go along. They've all been structured sort of the same way, which is that for the first few weeks of the semester we read published stories and discuss them in class to analyze them for craft, and then we start workshopping. For most of my classes there's been two rounds of workshops, so you submit a story, your workshop class comes around, you get about a half hour or so of everyone in class discussing what did/didn't work for them in your story, and ofc you do the same for everyone else. Then I've usually had a few weeks before my other story was due. I'm not sure if this is the same as what crw classes are like elsewhere.
For me, workshops have been a fairly stressful experience, but for the most part that's had more to do with me being anxious about sharing my writing than anything actually justifiable haha. There's a shared vulnerability that comes with reading everyone's work and knowing they're reading yours, and most everyone in my workshops has been super kind about their feedback and critiques always go beyond "I don't like this" into something a lot more workable and constructive. I have had one bad prof who had a very narrow view of writing (he thought Hemmingway was the only good writer and that's what we should all strive for) and he sort of ruined that class for me, so I will say that if you're signing up for creative writing classes, looking into the professors is a must! Finding someone who's style might line up with yours or even who other students just say is open-minded will make your experience so much better.
This also def depends on the professor, but I haven't found them very demanding! Usually I have a few weeks to write a story about whatever I want (unless I want to just submit one I've already written), and for me they've never been longer than 5k words. Ofc in between that you're reading other stories written by your peers and published authors, and I suppose it depends on the workload you're accustomed to but I've always found crw classes to be my lightest ones (also because the reading is usually so fun!)
My workshops have definitely helped me grow a bit more backbone when it comes to absorbing criticism and also just accepting the vulnerability that comes with sharing your work, but overall my favorite part has been making friends with other writers. There were a few people who I had multiple classes with throughout a few semesters, and we'd sometimes meet to work on our projects, and just getting to chat about writing with people who think similarly is so fun! Like you said, it can be hard to find people who really get it sometimes, so of all the ways that my crw classes have been great for me, those discussions have been my favorite part :)

okay im posting a mile a minute and i might be hypomanic but im thinking about clones so hard right now. i got a lotta thoughts about non-typical romance stories that can or do lean into dark fiction and how we should interact with em and also how the concept of clones/clonemance can actually analogously translate into a completely different, healthy thing that happens in real life and how thats really incredibly cool actually.
i do NOT care about speculative/dark fiction in terms of taboos cause like, its fiction. its fake. i can x out of the tab or close the book if it pops up. sometimes i need to get outta dodge so i do that. obviously irl incest is liferuining and bad. i dont have to virtue signal about it bc im confident that i know the difference between reality and fiction. i hope no ones arguing against irl incest being bad but who fuckin knows its the internet unfortunately & i stay outta those spaces like they got the plague. have to for my sanity. but like
hear me out im not going where it sounds like im goin i promise. leave the fuckin ship discourse at the door and let me talk about art-audience interaction for a sec. clone romance is not like stories about incest at all. theyre different by several albiet very technical degrees. extremely brief spoilers for crimsion peak and the game SOMA and under the cut cause this got gd long and they just kinda got brought up
argument: dirkhal is adjacent to real life intersystem relationships and i wanna tell you why i think that in a roundabout way that hopefully makes sense
peeling back a lil first. let me lift the curtain to stare at it and think about why its blue. like blue specifically and not idk, green or purple
dark fiction (like incest plotlines) is labled as such bc its supposed to disturb you but in a safe contained way that you can back out of. the curtain has been made blue to specifically envoke feelings we feel when we think about the colour blue, like make you feel sad or think of the sky. ya feel? its there to do a job. if youre in a good head space it can be cool and interesting to dig into like, gothic horror romance, a genre that famously features incest as a plot twist. this type of art is supposed to at least be mildly disturbing if you havent built up a tolerance to said horror, or are just not easily scared in general. the horror of the reality of incest is embedded into gothic horror historically. its what made it popular arguably. del toro's crimsion peak is a perfect modern example. the '''romance''' IS whats scary in this genre. i think its an interesting inverse of the typical non-horror romance genre. the shit with daenerys and viserys targaryen wouldnt have been NEARLY as nervewracking if they hadnt also been siblings while viserys imposed himself onto her. that was the thing that added to the fear for dany in those episodes, at least thats how it was for me. its what compounded her situation from something already frightening into something desperate. its whats disturbing about cersei and jaime and what makes joffreys entire existance truly sick and twisted underneath all of his already sick and twisted violence
hear me out hear me out. its like enjoying the saw movies bc of the gore and torture but a little to the left. you know obviously (at least i hope you would know) that putting someone in a saw trap in real life is wrong but because its all fake and the story and characters are engaging and dramatic, your brain, if youre inclined to this type of stuff, will go oooo thats cool, cool special effect that scared me haha im gonna watch the next one. and you will probably watch the next one because you know its fake and not real and that no one is actually being hurt. so morally you are always fine because you are enjoying watching fake blood get splattered around. youre enjoying the simulation of fear for this fictional character being tormented by her weirdo brother. you dont like what the lannester twins are doing but you might have still cried at lena headeys performance when joffrey finally beefed it bc shes still acting out a mother losing her kid. youre not a bad person for that
its like, if you look at the painting 'saturn devouring his son' by goya what do you feel? odds are youre gonna be feeling at least a little disturbed, which is the art doing what its supposed to. some of yall might enjoy it because its scaring you a lil and some of yall might not because of the same thing. incest in fiction is like that to me. its like being on a rollercoaster. your safe but its fake-scary even if youre enjoying the shit outta yourself. thats why fictional incest is still scary. its a scary thing that does very much happen irl and even when its obviously fake and fictional it can still scare you. thats why its such a common squick (triggers notwithstanding, those are not squicks and are in the realm of actually taking care of yourself to prevent flashbacks. its on you to do that for yourself not anyone else. i had to learn that the long and hard way. dont take that sentence out of context dear god)
BUT moving on to like, the actual reason why im writing all this shit
clone and specifically clone romance is something i wanna see more of sooo bad bc its not like gothic horror type incest romance AT ALL. its so far removed from reality. it literally cant happen the way were think about it in fiction. its entirely safe to speculate about forever
like
what does it mean to be a clone. existentially. especially if your genetic source or your other clone is not around (dead, forcefully separated bc Plot, etc) or way the fuck in your business (put you in his own computer and then ishades. never shuts you off or puts you out of his site. keeps you in his literal face. lives in a tiny apartment in the middle of the sea)
like the scifi of it all. the last couple minutes of 2001 a space odyessy type horror of it all. the tragedy the ego death the desperation to just be able to be your own person. and what does it even MEAN to be your own person if youre a clone anyway? especially if youre all up in each others business all the time because you have no where else to go?
dirkhal is perfect for this in particular bc the clone in question starts out as strings of code. STRINGS OF CODE. like holy fuck. hes completely intangeble. and he did that to himself. he thought itd be a cool idea because he thought hed be doing it to Some Other Guy. but the other guy was himself. idk if anyone reading this has played or watched someone else play SOMA but the horror of that is. fucking wow. it fucks me up
again similar to incest irl transhumanism is a major NOPE for me like get away from me w/ that shit. i like my organic body thanks. i think my body is wonderful with all its squishy warm bits that go gloop and splorp without any brain chips or head transplants onto mecha bodies
BUT…..
its very fun to explore in fiction. and again hal is perfect for this. and it just adds to the overall weirdness of dirk and hals situation
he (dirk) accidentally separated (ascended???) his own damn self away from his humanity (dirk2.0 -> AR -> hal). turns out he doesnt like it. big surprise there. and then he spends all of his screentime trying to claw his way back into his humanity at the cost of the person arguably closest to him
who is also. drum roll. himself. dirk1.0. like GODDAMN THATS GOOD
and it is very different from twincest type stories bc depending on how the characters were cloned their brains are exactly the same. it cant possibly be like incest because clones the way were thinking of them are impossible. its just not possible to clone your exact self physically with everything inside your brain metaphysically (memories, tastes, prefrences, personality, language both verbal and subconciously expressed through the body) intact
and again depending on how the clones are written they (like dirk and hal) could very easily have the same memories and personalities!! i cant think of any other real world instance of anything to draw a connection to except intersystem relationships. two people sharing a brain and body but who are very much different people from each other. your mileage may vary on how different two alters are to each other at any given point. OSDDID is so varied because every single body's physical brain is mapped differently, even in twins. its how you can have identical twins but have their personalities and preferences be radically different from each other. but that doesnt necessarily happen within a system. especially in polyfragmented or OSDD systems. because theyre not twins or siblings or anything other than system members who share a brain
two people in a system will have the same brain and same or similar memories from the same shared life in the same body but them being romantically involved will absolutely the fuck not be incest by ANY stretch of the word. trust me i am an expert on this. if you believe it is then idk what to tell you. i dont really want you around us if you think this. my system has several internal relationships that have been a thing for a very very long time. we have an intersystem couple who originated sometime in our childhood by literal cloning of the same alter within the brainspace and they have been entangled with eachother emotionally ever since, for better or worse, and started officially dating very recently. they are inherently very different people, but they came from the exact same root and that still shows through sometimes. they are by this specific definition of the word the closest thing we have to real life clones. sorry to get personal but its fuckin incredible and kinda the only concrete example i have
so in my humble opinion clone romance is much MUCH more adjacent to irl intersystem relationships, if we want to draw a connection between fiction and real life. which i dont typically like doing ever but i actually got skin in this game and i want to see intersystem relationships talked about way more openly. it can be part of life if youre plural and its fun as hell to translate aspects of it into fiction. like clone romance and dirkhal and homestuck in general
there is so many aspects of plurality i can see in homestuck. almost every character has some type of clone at some point (temporal, brain ghosts, robots, splinters). beta rose inherents the memories of davesprite's doomed rose. alpha kids in general are paradoxical clones of themselves. they literally only come from themselves genetically. dirk himself is the POSTERBOY for plurality, ESPECIALLY Ult Dirk. im not saying theres any intentional plural coding going on, but its really fuckin cool to look at these patterns and find something familiar. dirkhal are a plural couple to me

You should truly go into public speaking or motivational speaking as a side hustle. So much money to be made there with your hype up speeches. The world is in need of this content. Maybe we can do that thing on Netflix or whatever where you can have it choose for you. Play a fun game of Netflix Roulette, what do you say? Let’s plan a day, babe.
Tumblr media
Wait, that's not a bad idea, catch me now doing a Ted Talk, but also, that'd be nervewracking as fuck so who knows if I'd get through it haha. Should I start billing anyone who gets them? No, I'm kidding! Yes! Alright, new team up plan, I do the hype up speeches, you give me the ideas because you've got great ones! Let's plan a day!

!!!! I'm so glad you're enjoying it!! Yeah any of mochijun's works are devastating in their entirety. I'm happy you were able to get into VNC though!! Knowing the end, but still waiting for the inevitable fallout is so scary ....
It really is so nervewracking, huh? Especially when things seem so light and fun, and then you're hit with a reminder of the end, haha. There's also the wondering about if the story's going to subvert your expectations by the end of it or not (though I get the feeling this particular one isn't one of those).
These kinds of stories hurt just right, for me, though, haha. I'm so enamored with this series too, it's going to be so painful when it ends! ;u;
I might have to check out some of the mangaka's other works, I'm really enjoying this one!

im so nervous aaaaaaaaaaaaaa i’m auditioning for The Sound of Music in a couple hours, and one: it’s just nervewracking, and two: nobody knows me as Jazz, and I look completely different from the last time anyone saw me (about 2-3 years ago) (and I’m still not technically out, but more so than I was) so I’m scared what peoples’ reactions will be (although I did purposely dress as gender neutrally as possibly to screw with one girl’s perception of me cuz she’s a jerk anyway, and also since I’m auditioning for both a male AND female (separate) part...).....but yeah haha wish me luck!

13/ I’m in awe and in love with what you’ve created in this AU and don't quite know how to articulate all of my love for it. Anyways I think that’s the end of my rambles (for now at least). sorry it had to be broken up into so many parts to send through. Take care of yourself and take all the time you need to finish the last chapter and make sure that it makes you happy. Whatever you write is more than worth waiting for. I eagerly await the last chapter whenever it's ready 💖
Okay. So, this is the only ask I think I'm going to answer out of all the ones you sent me because I WANT TO KEEP THE ASKS IN MY INBOX SO I CAN READ IT WHEN I'M FEELING DOWN. That is how much I love everything you wrote to me, and you caught so many parallels that I built into the story that I had no idea if anyone would see, but you did and I'm so happy that you did.
You have no idea what kind of effect this has on a writer. You single-handedly added 3,000 words to the last chapter since I saw your messages yesterday. Knowing I have readers like you who appreciate all the small things I've built into this universe keeps me going.
Now I'm going to answer all the asks individually under this cut, because I'm not going to answer them on my page but you definitely deserve responses to EVERY SINGLE ONE!
1/ I love that you're rereading the later chapters. I'm not going to lie, as much as I loved building their relationship, it's truly the last few chapters that I'm super proud of.
2/ Yes! That's exactly what I was going for - the transition from friends to something more is always tricky because there is a great foundation to build a relationship on, but there's also a risk of losing all of that if you're not sure of the other person's intentions. I'm glad that it came across!
3/ The cafe is kind of where they transformed from being just friends to something so much more. It definitely holds a special place in their heart (it might come back in the last chapter, who knows? me. I know. it's already written. LOL)
4/ THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND WORDS. I also really like that line because it shows how separated they have to keep who they are at work vs who they want to be when they're together. It's a fine, delicate line that they toed.
5/ Literally smiling so wide as I read this. It was one of my favorite lines to write but also the most nervewracking if that makes sense? I was truly worried about how I was going to write their first date, because it had to be them but it also had to fall in-line with S7 canon. It's also such a big thing, to finally go all in on a relationship for our king and queen of emotional unavailability. I wanted to make sure the poignancy of them saying "fuck it" and going for what they want was clear.
6/ Good God. I wasn't sure if anyone was ever going to catch that. I'm a huge fan of parallels, if that's not obvious in my writing by now, and that's exactly what I wanted to achieve. He felt like he was getting put back together while she was falling apart.
And you can't be whole together when the other person is broken.
7/ I actually drew inspiration from watching the finale of season 7! I wanted to retain the anxiety you would get from watching time tick by and the scene where Emily is watching the clock intently as she was thinking through the flag colors is what inspired me. I wanted it to read like you were watching the finale.
Also, I just want to thank ACA for its service in keeping all readers on edge in this fandom.
8/ I've been getting a lot of good feedback from the way I wrote the post-breakup and I love writing Emily/Jack scenes. Them dancing at JJ's wedding I think was one of my favorite bits to write because it's just Emily being a Mom to Jack and her not realizing it.
9/ I'm glad that it made you teary - that was kind of the point. They still love each other, so much that they'd celebrate their anniversary even if they're not together, but sometimes, love isn't enough now is it?
10/ Fun fact: Mark's profession isn't mentioned in canon! But I always imagine Emily with someone who really challenges her, so I thought that lawyer would be best. I decided to go with corporate because I'm entirely unfamiliar with how the criminal justice system in the UK works LOL
11/ Hehe yes I am quite proud of myself for thinking of the box HAHA
12/ Home is wherever your heart is, and I don't think her heart was ever in London.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO WRITE AND SEND ME 13 INDIVIDUAL ASKS. My week was made by you sending that, and like I said above, this means everything to writers. It means everything to me.

My Fanfic Status Updates
Posted WIP:
Everybody Needs Luck - (Star Wars) Obi-Wan travels back in time to his 13 year old body on Melida/Daan and starts changing the galaxy. Time Travel AU. Nield/Cerasi/Obi-Wan, future Jango/Obi-Wan and Cerasi/Satine.
Status: Actively being worked on, have a few new chapters nearly finished. Will probably be getting to a larger time skip soon.
Cuy'kaysh Dar - (Star Wars) Obi-Wan falls on Naboo and flees. Jango sees him fighting Jedi and recruits him to the Cuy'val Dar. Fallen!Obi-Wan AU. Jango/Obi-Wan, Priest/Reau.
Status: Actively being worked on. Have the barebones for a few new chapters.
Biding Time - (Throne of Glass) Dorian's happy ending falls apart and Hollin uses dark magic to send him back in time. Time Travel AU. Valg!Dorian. Many Dorian-centric ships.
Status: Currently just having issues with time constraints because I need to reread the early Manon stuff for the next few chapters and I haven’t yet.
A Dragon in Wolf's Clothing - (ASOIAF) Oberyn's mark fills in--and shows him the true identity of the Bastard of Winterfell, his soulmate. Soulmate AU. Oberyn/Ellaria, future Oberyn/Ellaria/Jon.
Status: Will be trying to get a new chapter or two out soon-ish.
Eventuality - (Game of Thrones) Sequel to Potentiality. Jon and Daenerys die, then wake up in the past in different versions of themselves. Now they face conquering a Westeros very different from the one they so temporarily ruled before. Time Travel AU. Trans!Jon, Genderfluid!Dany. Jonerys.
Status: Currently on the backburner, I don’t want to rush the next few chapters but am not super motivated.
Fire in the Rain - (ASOIAF) Jon brings his girlfriend Sansa home to meet his eccentric (dangerous) family, who still follow ancient Valyrian customs. Modern Westeros AU. Jonsa, Jonerys, Rhaenys/Aegon, others.
Status: I kind of write a little here and there when motivated, so have no idea when a full chapter will be done.
Trinity - (ASOIAF) They loose the War for the Dawn, but Sansa, Arya, and Jon get a second chance. Time Travel AU. Sansa/Elia, Jon/Night's Queen, Robb/Dany.
Status: Omfg I’m so close to being done with this, I’m trying to get motivated to do the last few chapters haha
A Song of Light and Darkness - (ASOIAF) The Targaryens conquered most Westeros with dark magic, now they finally have the key for taking the North. Alternate Fantasy World AU. Many ships.
Status: I’m ngl mostly have updated because it’s one of my friend’s favs. It’s pretty on the backburner right now.
Play the Part of Savior - (ASOIAF) They decide to win the War for the Dawn by stopping the very first one--and Jon ends up back in time in the Bloodstone Emperor's court. Time Travel AU. Bloodstone Emperor/Jon, Bloodstone Emperor/his wife, past Sarella/Jon.
Status: Past me did myself a huge disfavor by skipping a chapter in my draft and not making a note what was supposed to go there, so I’m waiting hoping I’ll remember it.
Broken Pieces Floating By - (ASOIAF) A single night in a haunted house changes Ana’s life forever. Modern Horror AU. Elia/Lyanna, Elia/Rhaegar/Lyanna.
Status: I have a very, very detailed outline for the entire thing, which is a little rare for me, so eventually it will be written.
Cut Strings - (World of Warcraft) Anduin refuses to be a puppet king and instead shakes up the entire political landscape of Westeros. Neutral Stormwind AU. Wranduin, Bainduin, others.
Status: I will probably eventually try to rewrite what I have of this. I was trying to keep it semi-close to canon, but that was before BFA came out and showed us that, yes, it was a boring Sylvanas-is-super-evil plot and not something cool. Now I can just go completely out-there AU with it.
No Peace, No Rest - (World of Warcraft) After Stormwind is destroyed (again), Anduin is taken in by the last people anyone would expect a priest to stay with. BFA AU. Darion/Anduin.
Status: I want to continue this at some point because I love Darion/Anduin and there’s barely any out there and also because I love Anduin and Bolvar being all angsty with their surrogate father-son relationship.
Upcoming Drabbles:
Sequel to my Dark Jangobi Order 66 Drabble - (Star Wars) Obi-Wan resented the Jedi, but he never wanted them to be killed off. And he definitely didn’t want to deal with the fallout of it.
Sequel to my voluntary Integration Obi-Wan Drabble - (Star Wars) Obi-Wan is a model Integrator, which is nervewracking for everyone who knows he was a Jedi.
Sequel to my Mandalorian-from-birth!Obi-Wan Drabble - (Star Wars) Jango’s POV
Requested Soulmate Drabble - (Star Wars) Mandalorians can sense the Mand’alor’s soulmate. It is, of course, Obi-Wan.
Maybe Possibly Upcoming Drabbles:
Terrorist Club AU - (Star Wars) Obi-Wan has a pass to an intergalactic club for terrorists from his time with the Young and he uses it to mess with Vizsla.

I plan on finishing up the last few scenes for chapter 14 this weekend. Then it should take about a week to edit and do some rewrites, but the plan right now is to try to have chapter 14 up on Wednesday, April 7th.
This chapter's got a bit of everything, including a couple of action scenes. It has been pretty fun to write but also a bit nervewracking at times haha. The flow this chapter has felt much better than the issue I was feeling while writing 13. I think it helps when there's more than just drama going on in the chapter haha. Anywho. So far I like how this one is turning out. 👍

Ryan – Timid Squire
Ryan is a member of the Seventh Platoon! He’s rather timid and shy, and looks up to the other members of his platoon for their bravery.
Did you know Gordin is actually his brother? Ryan aspires to be an expert archer like his brother one day!
He certainly has a lot to live up to! It’s nervewracking, I’d bet – but I know he can do it!
Despite his timid nature, he certainly shouldn’t be underestimated! He’ll grow into a fine Altean knight one day, ready to serve Prince Marth alongside the rest of his platoon!
(I forgot to post this for some reason. The art style goes everywhere, haha; I actually rushed doing this after Cecil’s, which is why I think this... might not be my favourite one. I think I made the eyes too small in the first two, but I like the last two more... ah well, maybe I’ll end up redoing those in the end. Also, Gordin has no right looking this cool. Maybe this is just in Ryan’s perspective or something, haha.)

6, 7, 11, 19?
Absolutely!
6. What character do you have the most fun writing?
Let’s see. This is probably going to sound a little weird, but the thing in general I have the most fun writing is a very bitter person. So Pharma from transformers is probably legitimately one of my all-time faves, even though I haven’t had an idea for him in ages, and even the fics I wrote were usually very spur of the moment. But more recently? Oh my god, I’m having the time of my LIFE writing Shen Jiu. I love him so much. He’s tied up in so many knots inside, and he’s so tense and angry and bitter, and I don’t know what it is, but I love writing that so, so much. I’m also having a very fun time with Bingge-lite, and expect I would love doing the full Bingge, but I don’t have any good ideas for that yet.
(i think it’s something about balancing anger and regret and a bit of wistfulness inside a pov that really appeals to me. it’s a really fun balance to play with)
7. What do you think are the characteristics of your personal writing style? Would others agree?
Oh boy, this is always a tricky one. Second person? XD But in general, I think I tend to write from a place way up in the pov character’s head.  I don’t struggle with narrating events as much as I used to, but I think I still lean hard on pairing actions with dialogue to advance the narrative, haha. I have an easier time writing engaging dialogue, and thinking about what the characters are doing as they talk makes me get things done while preserving my momentum, so I think that tends to feature heavily in my stories.
11. What do you envy in other writers?
The ability to longfic, haha. I’ve written a few longish fics here and there, and my two main wips are going to be fairly long by the time I’m done with them, but I’m always blown away by the authors who can plot out and write epically long fics. My average story length has kind of ballooned since I started writing, but nowhere NEAR proper longfic lengths. I love reading stories that BIG and I’m totally envious of authors who can pull that off, but I’m still not sure if/how I would ever manage to do that thing XD
19. Is there something you always find yourself repeating in your writing? (favourite verb, something you describe ‘too often’, trope you can’t get enough of?)
Ohhh, and I’m not sure this exactly counts as ‘repeating’, but.... teasing. I’d hardly know what to do with myself if my characters weren’t teasing each other, especially when it comes to flirting. This might be part of why golden stage resonated so strongly with me, lmao. I feel like I might repeat myself in the ways I describe sex scenes too, which isn’t a terrible thing, there are only so many ways to describe sex in non-silly ways, but it’s definitely a reason I tend not to reread my own sex scenes after publishing them (and I’ve definitely gotten more self-conscious since returning to fandoms where I can’t lean into xeno biology for porny variety, rest in pieces)
And, pulling all four of these questions into one answer, in my current nervewracking attempt at a longfic, where shen jiu takes center stage very much of the time, I’ve definitely been caught by my au co-creator repeating pieces of his dialogue. I think it was good dialogue, but too distinct to recycle. I’m going to have to to watch myself closely to be sure I don’t let any of that slip through to the final product, haha
