Hello friends! Just a quick kh4f programming note: I'll be out of commission for most of, if not all of today, as I'm having a minor medical procedure done. (Outpatient, everything's fine, dw! π«Άπ») So if anything notable happens (fully expecting Ash to announce ai2 the second I'm sedated π) and I'm MIA... that's why lol. Try not to have too much fun without me! ππ

LOST MYTH OF TRUE LOVE βΒ for tav/the emperor | listen
i'd be the immediate forgiveness in eurydice / imagine being loved by me.
based on my ao3 collection of the same title, here is a mix for my tav, catarina, and the passionate calamity going on in her relationship with the emperor.

what have been your favorite songs off of clancy so far??? iβve been so amazed by that album and i wanna hear your thoughts!!
AAAA OKAY. I'm just gonna copy here my ranking from last night after the 1st album listen. Mind you, before yesterday I made a point not to listen to any of the re-release singles and avoided ALL video spoilers, so I went in completely blind .
^ i forgot about Navigating and i put it on the same tier as Midwest
(okay i rambled and this is all jumbled together so - more thoughts under)
I still need to listen to it a few more times today so I can properly rank them but yeah. Routine / Oldies are my top ones for sure, with Backslide / At the Risk / Snap Back falling riiight under. Those three kinda broke me ngl.
Lavish for sure will go up in the ranking because I love it so so much it's SO fun haha.
The Craving I prefer Jenna's version over the single - just different feels. The single version I'd place it with Next Semester.
But yeah, I was sobbing pathetically on Oldies Station, and again on At The Risk lmao. BACKSLIDE!!! BROKE MY HEART!!! NOT EVEN GONNA TALK ABOUT THE VIDEO OTHERWISE!!! WOOOOOOO
Emotional Damage x200
Me and my friend were talking about it, and we both agree that Clancy feels like an amalgamation of every previous album. There is something so heavy and personal about it, very reminiscent of Self Titled, that we haven't seen in a while (since Blurryface I'd say). Not that Trench wasn't personal, but it feels incredibly lore-heavy (aside from Smithereens and The Legend <- i can't listen to it now because yeah. Same thing for me).
Obviously you got Neon Gravestones and Redecorate on SAI (WHICH I LOVE, will take no slander), but yeah.
*Oh and Leave the City - same vibes as Paladin sort of.
Clancy is special. It feels much more intimate. Much more emotionally charged. Trench felt like an album for the fans; SAI is the fun experimental let's go team one. But Clancy 1000% feels like this is for him. Like a letter to past and future versions of Tyler - does this make sense?
Sorry I think I rambled a bit much lol - I might do a proper review or whatever once I gave the album a few more spins but yeah! Right off the bat I am in love with it, if feeling a little too called out by some songs π₯²βοΈ
But yeah. What about you???? What atΓ© your thoughts on the album??? What are you favs????

Omamljeno Telo live πππ
I CAN FINALLY LISTEN TO IT WITH FULL PLEASURE
ah, eryka, you are a young woman with fine taste π
AND YOU'RE RIGHT, I'M NEVER LISTENING TO THE STUDIO VERSION OF IT AGAIN, everything about the live version of it goes SO much harder, the guitars are so sexy and bojan's voice sounds so much more like Him than it does on the studio version idk how to explain it
also it's very funny they decided to play such a funky banger after the live version of ASTP destroyed us all emotionally and that gives it bonus points imo

btw remember when i mentioned that if i try hard enough i can make every song on absolution abt liah. im gonna do it now watch me
(not including intro and interlude bc they're just 30ish seconds of instrumental. tho now that i think abt it intro is the sound of an army marching?? so actually it is about the army liah had gathered when she returned from the mandalorian wars as revan)
apocalypse please is about liah going to fight in the mandalorian wars and doing whatever it takes to achieve victory. also btw i love the part that starts around the 1:46 mark... sounds kinda sci-fi and fitting to a galactic war
time is running out is relevant to the latter part of liah's revan era and her toxic friendship(?) with malak. also idk something about the dark side squeezing the life out of her. or maybe it was the jedi order that was squeezing the life out of her. maybe both. hmm
sing for absolution is truly one of my favorite muse songs and i feel like it's 99% thanks to the delivery of the last line "our wrongs remain unrectified and our souls won't be exhumed" like every time i listen to the song and get to that part i go oooooohhhhh here it comes!!!!! this line directly refers to the wrongs liah committed as revan and how she will never be forgiven. no the rest of the song doesn't matter
stockholm syndrome is as we all know the liah song. it encompasses her whole being. i can take literally any line from this song and connect it to some part of liah's life. incredible
falling away with you is also about toxic worsties liah and malak... reminiscing the Good Old Days when their relationship had not yet turned into a weird constant power struggle and there was genuine love between them
hysteria is another song about the dark side and how it changed liah. another one of my faves from muse
blackout is a bit more difficult but idk it may be about liah, years down the line, finally kinda having forgiven herself and letting go of the past and looking forward to living out the rest of her life on her own terms.. good for her
butterflies and hurricanes is about liah's hubris and ambition as a jedi knight and how she thought it was her grand destiny to be Something More and to change the galaxy!!
the small print is my least fave song on this album tbh it's a bit too chaotic. and it doesn't help that it's sandwiched between two songs i really enjoy. disappointed to say that i can't really connect this to liah... at least not yet. moving on,
endlessly is a nice breather after the previous song and it's about liah and carth!! and about how despite the fact that they have feelings for each other nothing comes of it in the end! because they both have issues and liah is way too guilt-ridden to allow herself to be loved!! but maybe they will run into each other several years later and get the chance to try again... who knows
thoughts of a dying atheist... ok idk abt this one. feels too much like matt bellamy's personal ruminations on his relationship with religion. next
ruled by secrecy is once again about liah's hubris and desire for power and change And her complicated relationship with the jedi order??
fury is about. liah's endless guilt mixed with revan era liah's belief that everything she is doing is right and correct and for good reasons... or something...

if you could bring back one styling that you think wasn't appreciated in its time or the fans weren't ready for (but are now) or just think should be around again, which would it be? (hard round: something other than TVXQ's "Triangle" styling) (and I already know the #1 is Pink Gumby)
(kicks rock) ok FINE i won't immediately say triangle.........
my first instinct is actually something that DID get its due appreciation: arario!! it was genuinely ahead of its time (both in styling and musical composition), and if vixx hadn't done shangri-la we might never have seen a traditional/hanbok styling trend in kpop. but realistically this is kind of a tough question to answer because most trends in kpop styling have been recycled already in some way. i could say something like we should bring back the goofy looks for the early '10s but realistically that's already happened as much as it's going to without completely reverting silhouettes and clothing construction, which is not going to happen. and also i don't think most of those looks were underappreciated at the time. the most frequent type of look that is oft derided by fans and underutilized by creative staff are the infrequent forays into science fiction concepts. songs like 100%'s beat and more famously vixx's error were quite controversial for no legitimate reason, although honestly i don't remember how beat was received since vixx overshadowed them significantly (justice for 100% actually. the beat styling is better), but considering nobody remembers 100% even existed i'll consider it underappreciated. tbh in the current styling landscape of kpop my beef is less with fans not appreciating a styling (bc fans know exactly jack shit about costuming and will accept anything, even obvious garbage) and more with stylists who are unwilling to actually flesh out a concept. this applies to pretty much everything but i see it most obviously in scifi (and fantasy/horror etc, anything that's not boy/girl next door or school) concepts. one of the few cbs that i do desperately want to have a go around again is obsession bc please god can i finally have ksoo and minseok on the song, but also it's a fantastic concept that got most of the way there, it just could have been so much more interesting out if the stylists weren't cowards.

Daddy blog anon reporting for duty. Not me just texting my friend "the daddy blog is gonna have a field day with this" about Ashton's sweaty picture. Only for me to go on Tumblr to confirm lol. Anyway, in other news. Blood On The Drums part 1 is So Good. I knew it would be, but DAMN.
Yayyyy DBA is here, how are ya buddy? π₯°
Listen, we may have been told "nothing lasts forever, nothing stays the same" but that sentiment does not apply when it comes to me and having A Lot of Feelings about Ashton Irwin being sweaty and hairy ππ€‘
