i don't know man... there are moments tlou show does well (like joel and ellie, and minor changes to the story) but.. the things it does badly are so glaring to me that it simply becomes such a bleak show and ruins the suspension of disbelief for me... i don't know if i could even call this a good adaptation. it's so mediocre

The only time you'd ever really see Fez at a party was if he was dealing. He wasn't one who really enjoyed going out or being around a lot of people, but parties were one of the fastest ways to sell his shit, and a guy's gotta eat. On the days he had all to himself, he'd often be at home doing nothing.
The only thing he enjoyed more than relaxing at home, was relaxing at home with you. You seemed to have that effect on him; he enjoyed doing things more when you were around. He'd take you shopping because he knew you'd buy actual food and not just any random stuff with no nutritional value. He'd take you with him on random night drives through the city because you had the best playlists to listen to and he wouldn't admit it, but he secretly loved listening to the different genres of music you enjoyed. He always enjoyed having your presence around the house, and around him.
Right now, however, he really really wished you had stayed home. Not that he didn't want to see you, but he was about 5 minutes away from doing business with one of his suppliers (not one of the nicests guys either), and he didn't want to anywhere near when they arrived.
"Hold on, you can't be in here right now," he drawled nervously when he saw your wet frame enter the living room. "I just came to make you guys dinner, got everything for your favorites," you smiled as you made your way inside, placing the groceries you had bought on the kitchen table. You toed off your shoes and made your way to Fez's room. "Nah, you gotta go Y/N," he said following after you.
"Why, am I not welcome anymore?" you joked, looking through his drawers for dry clothes. You settled for a pair of old sweatpants and a t-shirt you had forgotten there, and swiftly changed.
"I'm serious, come back in a few hours but right now you gotta get the fuck up outta my house," he said seriously. You frowned at his words. Was he seriously going to kick you out in the middle of a rainstorm? "It's fucking pouring outside, Fez. I can just—"
"Nah you ain't listening, you gotta go right now before these motherfuckers come through," he interrupted you. By now you had grown irritated by his behavior. "Who are you talking about?" you asked angrily, walking past him to go sit on the couch in the living room. "My guy's boutta come through and I don't want you here when he gets here, you understand?" he said following you. Right. His guy, as in his supplier. You were on the verge of asking him what the big deal was if you just stayed out of their way for the few minutes, when his phone buzzed from the table he was previously sitting at.
You peered behind the back of the couch towards the table and then back at him. He did the same, and when your eyes met, you could see the anger mixed with fear on his face. "I could fuckin' kill you right now," he muttered before reaching for his walkie talkie. "Yo Ash, they here," he spoke into it before he started packing stacks of money into a paper bag.
By now you had grown a bit nervous at what was about to go down. Fez never allowed you to join him when he was doing any of his deals. He wanted to keep you as far away as possible from that side of his life, and right now you were about to meet one of his suppliers.
He walked over to the couch were you still sat frozen in fear, pushing his hands between the two cushions and pulling out a gun, checking to see if it was loaded. Your eyes widened before meeting his. "Look I'm serious Y/N," he said quietly, "just stay right there, keep your mouth shut and be cool. These dudes ain't fuckin' around." You could only nod in response, watching closely as he placed the gun back between the cushions.
☆☆☆☆
To say the big bald guy with the face tattoos currently standing behind you was scary, would be one hell of an understatement.
"So this your little bitch?" you heard him ask. You didn't dare turn around, nervously clasping your hands together in your lap to stop them from shaking too visibly. "Nah bruh, that's my girl," Fez subtly corrected him as the guy made his way around the back of the couch. He kneeled infront of the couch and extended his hand in greeting. "Well hello there," he said. You nervously unclasped your hands and placed one in his, which he took and kissed softly. You wanted to retract your hand from the feeling of his cold, dry lips on your skin, but you had no idea if that could potentially piss him off, and you didn't want to find out what he'd do if he got mad.
"My name is Mouse, it's a pleasure to meet you," he said. How ironic you thought, but you couldn't find anything humorous in the way his stare sent chills down your spine. When he walked away you looked over to Fez again, who was sitting right across from you. He gave you a small nod as you tried your best to calm down your racing heart.
Mouse started unpacking and naming all the diffrent drugs he had available. You tried not to look as shocked as you felt, but truth was you weren't used to all of it. Yeah your boyfriend was a drug dealer, but you didn't do drugs, and he's made it his life's mission to keep it that way You turned around and caught a glimpse of all the different bottles and pills all packed in big plastic zip lock bags.
"7750," Mouse's lackey Custer said as he finished calculating the price of everything at a quite impressive speed. Fez quickly got the paper bag with the money, throwing it to Mouse, who threw it to Custer. "Sure you don't want no Fentanyl?" he asked. "Nah man I'm cool off that shit. Too many OD's, man. I don't want the heat," Fez said calmly.
Mouse turned around to where you sat. "How about you pretty girl," he asked, "you ever tried Fentanyl?"
"No," you said quietly, still looking down at your lap. "Nah, she's good bro," Fez said as Mouse took a seat next to you on the couch and placing his arm behind you on the back of it. He used his outstretched hand to play with the loose strands of your hair. "You gonna let your boy talk for you?" he asked with a smile. You looked over at Fez, not knowing of you should answer him or not. "I don't know—"
"Don't look at him, look at me." You felt as though you might burst into flames if you did look at him. You turned your head slightly towards him, and you were met with a smile that made your stomach churn nervously. "You ever tried it?" he asked again.
"Yo forreal bruh, I don't want her fuckin' wit that shit," Fez said through a clenched jaw. You could hear the irritation and anger in his voice. Whether it was aimed at you for being here right now or at Mouse talking to you, you didn't know.
Mouse ignored Fez's talking, moving closer to you until his mouth was at your ear. "You know that feeling when you cum so hard you can't feel or hear shit?" he asked. You frowned, turning your face away from him and looking down at your lap once again. You didn't want to answer him, you didn't want to be talking to him anymore. "You like that feeling?" he added. You couldn't do anything but nod dumbly, afraid of what he might do if you ignored him.
"Well shit, you gon' love this."
Soon he was reaching for his pockets, pulling out a knife and a pouch of liquid Fentanyl, placing a small amount of the substance on the tip of the blade. He bought it closer to your face, and before you could think you were instinctively shaking your head and moving your head away from the knife.
"I don't— I don't think I should," you said softly. "What, you don't trust me?" he asked. "Yo for real man, she's good," Fez said desperately trying to diffuse the situation. He was praying that you didn't come close to that blade, he didn't want you using that shit at all. "Shut the fuck up bitch," Mouse said, still looking at you, "ain't nobody talkin' to you."
"Tell your boy I ain't talking to him right now. Tell him to shut the fuck up," he said to you. You looked over at Fez, the tears already burning behind your eyes. "C'mon don't be scared. It won't bite you." His voice bought your attention back to the blade that was still infront of your face.
"C'mon, try it."
Fez was shaking his head at you, praying that you weren't stupid enough to take up his offer. You were shaking like a leaf. You didn't know what to do, you just wanted to get out of this situation as fast as possible.
Without a second thought you placed your mouth on the tip of the knife and licked the substance off. Please don't let me die the words replayed in your head over and over and over as you felt yourself slowly and quietly slip into a diffrent state. After a while you couldn't even sit up straight anymore, and you found yourself softly falling on the couch cushion. Please don't let me die please don't let me die please don't let me die please—
"It hits quick," you heard Mouse's voice faintly as you tried desperately to hold onto some form of lucidity. Fez was watching you closely, trying to see if you were still conscious. "You like the way that feels?" he asked placing your leg over his lap. "Mhm," you managed to get out through lips that felt as heavy as concrete. "You wanna couple of patches pretty girl?" he asked and you replied with what you hoped was a yes. He got the patches from his jacket pocket and placed them beneath the waistband of your sweatpants.
"Its gon' cost you three hundred," he said to you, but looking over at Fez, "C'mon, pay up pretty girl."
"I only have like, seven dollars on me," you said, slurring your words like a drunk. "I said three hundred," Mouse repeated running his fingertips along your leg. "I bought like, groceries and shit." You could feel the drool running out your mouth and down your cheek, but it felt like your body was nailed to the couch. You felt so relaxed, so good and fuzzy that you couldn't even be bothered by the drool.
"Yo Mouse, lemme pay for it man," Fez spoke up. "I thought you was too good for Fentanyl" Mouse said with a taunting smile. "What is it, everybody changing they motherfuckin' minds on me?" he asked turning to Custer who sat on the back edge of the couch laughing.
"She can't afford it, she gon' have to find another way of paying me. Straight up," he said, now rubbing along your leg. "Ok," you replied, thinking he was still talking to you. Fez wanted nothing more than to pull out the gun from between the two cushions and shoot Mouse right there and then. He could feel himself getting angrier with every stroke of Mouse's hand along your clothed leg.
"Yo man, jus' lemme pay for it. Got the money right here."
Fez stood up from the couch, and placed three hundreds in Mouse's hand. "Damn, your boy must love you. Its gon cost you six hundred now, man."
☆☆☆☆
After Fez gave Mouse his extra money he counted the bills before standing up to leave. "It's always a pleasure doing business with you," he smiled, pushing your leg from his lap and getting up from the couch. As soon as the door closed behind him, Fez stood up, taking the Fentanyl Mouse had left on the couch and calling Ash. "Flush that shit down the toilet, and go grab the Narcan, just in case," he said placing the pouch in Ash's hand.
He went over to the couch were you were still laying quietly and motionless, your one leg still hanging off the couch. He carefully pulled it back up the couch, maneuvering it to prevent you from rolling onto your stomach, and covered your body with the small blanket that layed by the couch's end. He sat by your head on the couch, softly stroking your hair and praying that you were okay. Your eyes fluttered open when you felt his soft touch on your head. "'M sorry," you slurred, trying to keep your eyes open, to stay awake. Your breathing was irregular and soft, and you felt a dull discomfort in your chest.
"It's ok," he said softly, wiping away the layer of sweat from your forhead. "I ain't leaving you."
When Ash returned with the Narcan you were quickly given some in each nostril and after a while your breathing returned to a somewhat normal tempo. You couldn't fight the urge to sleep anymore and soon you were closing your eyes and dozing off.
☆☆☆☆
You layed in bed next to Fez feeling like absolute shit. You couldn't fall asleep. The dull pressure in your bladder and the constant nausea made it impossible to get comfortable. You turned around slowly, to find Fez laying next to you, his eyes trained on you. He hadn't left your side since your little run-in with Mouse, and had you stay with him until you felt better. He even went as far as to ask one of your friend to bring you clean clothes from your house.
"How you feelin'?" he asked, voice thick from sleep. You only shook your head no, you couldn't even find the strength to talk. "You want some' to eat?" he asked softly. The mention of food made your stomach churn uncomfortably and before you knew it you were jumping out of bed and making a beeline for the bathroom for what felt like the millionth time.
You felt Fez's hand rubbing circles into your back softly as you threw up once again. "Let it all out, baby," you heard him say softly. He knew you hated throwing up, and he hated seeing you ill, so he tried his best to give you any sort of comfort.
After you finished you flushed the toilet and wiped your mouth. The cold tiles beneath your knees and the warm press of Fez's hand against your even warmer body grounded you. "I'm sorry for taking that shit," you said through quiet sobs. You hadn't even noticed you'd been crying. "Is alright," Fez said softly. He hated seeing you cry more than anything. "You'll be alright, okay?" he said, pulling you into a hug, "I ain't going no where. Gonna look after my girl."

Can u translate this Taylor swift stuff into supernatural so I can understand?
Ummmmm. Ok. Imagine supernatural used to make real bangers and it took years to make this happen like 5 year hiatuses etc. but it was Good. It was winning Emmys rightfully. It was critic praised. And then they announce a new season and it’s the worst thing you e ever heard. Start to finish the WORST thing you’ve ever heard with one glimmering star. Imagine a season that’s like. Dog dean afternoon. Bloodlines. Bugs. And you go. God damn I can never watch this again. And then there’s a web release short released after the finale. The finale that was bugs. And the short released online is the man who would be king. So. The ratio is quite bad but it IS a mixed bag. This part of the metaphor is about midnights. Now. This season of supernatural? A flop. Obviously. Clearly. You go. Well! It’s over. You are disrespecting the integrity of supernatural. But Normal Viewers loveeeeee it it’s getting great Nielsens it’s pushing boxsets. And you feel crazy. Because it’s bad. And then on the heels of this they announce supernatural world tour. And you go ok surely they’re going to take time off from writing new supernatural because of this year long tour they’re busy with. And then they go guess what. We ARE writing more supernatural. And they do. And it’s. Not good. Like it’s not a season long string of bugs like the last season was. But it’s a long season of episodes where nothing happens and nothing stands out and it’s all shot like visual filler and written like they just need to get any old ep out. It’s episode after episode of bog standard motw with no character work or chiaroscuro over misha collins face it’s all padding the whole thing. Which is technically. An improvement over the last season of garbage. But still very much not good. This is . Ttpd

♥️Reveling in Richonne - TOWL
#16: The Secret Rendezvous (1.02)
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
Ok, this scene has got to be a Top 5 TOWL scene for me. I love everything about Richonne's secret rendezvous from the 🔥 walk-up at the beginning to the passionate embrace at the end 😍...
So first we see Michonne talking to some CRM leaders during a vetting process. And again TOWL stayed aware of Danai’s flawless face card with the close-up shot. Contrasting the start of the episode when she says her name is Michonne, here she’s following what Rick told her and changing her name to introduce the CRM and us to a B named Dana Bethune.
Michonne is in her acting bag as she shares, “My name is Dana. And I’ve been out there a long time by myself. So long that it’s strange to hear my own voice.” Michonne smartly mixes truths into her lies as she tells them “I was in Georgia for a long time with my boyfriend and about 40 people” She really was in Georgia with her boyfriend both from before the apocalypse and the boyfriend-turned-husband she found in season 3 😋.
Michonne says their group was led by leaders who she thought were good and says she was with her sister Elle, who was the HR lady from the caravan group at the top of the ep. Michonne says, “And then things changed. They changed. I saw it. I knew we should go. You always really know when to go.” Look at her passing Nat’s mentality down to the CRM. 😊 I was like CRM, y’all should be scared because a loyal person like Michonne is going to make sure Nat’s death is avenged. 💯
She’s asked about her weapon of choice and she says a Bo staff that she lost and is now making do with a knife. Playing up a certain aloofness Michonne looks at herself in the reflection of a window or two-way mirror idk. And you know while they’re observing her, sis is also observing everything about this place while trying to just appear more meek and even ditzy.
They ask if it bothers her that she’s being watched and it already shows how privy she is to things that she can tell she’s being surveilled. She softly says, “No I just haven’t seen myself in a while.”
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
The CRM folk start telling Michonne about the place and how she can never leave and you can just see Michonne have a subtle reaction like 'Yeah alright we’ll see about that.' She knows that never-leave rule is about to get broken. Best believe.
They ask how she feels about the fact that she can’t leave and Michonne smiles and says, “I feel that what’s here, it’s what I’ve been looking for. It’s what I’ve been trying to believe in just a little while longer.” And not a lie was told right here. 💁🏽‍♀️
They have her baby up in this place so they absolutely do have what she’s been looking for. And I love her referencing the 'believe a little longer' motto from the iPhone and also how it again affirms that she believes in Rick so much just like in Rick's dreams. He’s what she’s been believing in.
This was a greatly acted scene from Danai playing Michonne playing Dana playing the CRM. 🤭 Like I love that Michonne was sorta playing in the CRM's face a bit and it was just so clear the CRM does not stand a chance against this woman. She’s a mother on a mission. Nothing is stopping her. 👌🏽
So then we see Michonne walking around the CRM in a consignee jacket and I love that hers has a cinched waist. Michonne isn't letting that boxy jacket completely hide the Coca-Cola body. I’m here for it. 💅🏽
As Michonne walks around you can tell that, similar to Woodbury, she’s making note of quite a bit in this place - except this time she’s trying to blend in more like her husband told her. And the main thing Michonne clearly wants to know as she's walking around right now is - where is Rick Grimes.
She walks up some steps clearly trying to see where he could be, and even with all these CRM soldiers in helmets I know she’d be able to spot Rick if she saw him among them. And why? Because of that walk. 😏
But baby, she doesn’t have to spot him because of course the magnets in them have Rick spotting her first and making a beeline to her. I adore this walking moment. 🤩 I rewound it so much cuz I too love that man's walk lol.
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
So Michonne is walking and then we see a soldier very intently making his way to her and I love the way it’s shot. Rick’s walk is iconic and so I love that that’s how you can immediately tell it’s him. And as we know, we’re not the only one who loves Rick’s walk because as he approaches Michonne and quietly takes her arm Michonne has this instant smitten smile upon recognizing his touch and walking alongside him. 😊
This scene made it clear that TOWL was gonna have a lot of fun with Richonne’s love and desire being at the foundation of the show. And you just know Rick was eagerly waiting for the moment he could get to her. He was a man on a mission. A mack-on-Michonne mission. 😌
And the moment as he takes her arm and silently guides her into a room is just hot, what can I say? 🔥
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
I love seeing Rick take control and seeing Michonne try to be subtle but clearly look so excited to be back with him. 😊
Also, now y’all when would a soldier…especially this soldier, grab a consignee by her arm and guide her into a room alone lol? That alone likely would've raised suspicions around the CRM. But I'm glad they did it anyway cuz it was a joy to see Rick and Michonne walk side by side again. CRM, y’all don’t even know you now have the most lethal married couple in your midst walking arm and arm rn. 🤭
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
Rick leads her into the room and gives one last look outside to make sure no one is headed their way. The way he looks around before going inside, you know he knows exactly what they're about to do.
So then we get a top-tier scene as Rick and Michonne walk into the garage?? Idk what that place was exactly so I’ll just call it a garage lol.
Rick and Michonne walk into the garage and give each other a quick look before checking to make sure the coast is clear. Rick checks one side and Michonne checks the other and then y’all, Rick has a very clear mission and it’s not swapping information it’s swapping saliva lol. I promise you, dishing out information and making a plan was secondary on the agenda for Rick during this secret rendezvous. 😋
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
Rick proceeds to put his helmet down and before Michonne can even confirm that she doesn’t see anybody on her side, Rick grabs her and they basically pounce on each other with kisses and it’s the best. 😊They both are starving for each other and this kiss made it clear.
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
You can tell the moment Rick put that helmet down he was laser-focused on loving on Michonne. He basically said I’ll brief you on this mysterious advanced society that’s kept me from you for years if we have time in between the main priority of making out.
I adore the way he grabs her neck and then the way Michonne is always ready to match the energy as she wraps her arms around him. And y’all, how nice of them to have a kiss that is as pleasing to the ear as it is to the eye because they, and Rick especially, stayed moaning in these TOWL kisses. Love to see it/hear it. 😋
I always say Richonne’s kisses are a form of communication and their first wordless conversation in the CRM - or 'moanversation' if you will - had them both making it very clear to each other that they’re ecstatic to be back together.
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
And after almost 8 years apart, the intensity of this kiss makes perfect sense, and I love that they knew exactly how to communicate how hungry Richonne are for each other in every way. This kiss is A1. 👏🏽
Like the way they lean against the vehicle and Rick puts his arm up against the vehicle to be mindful of Michonne adds such a cute caring layer to this whole top-tier moment. And the way they’re swaying and wrapped up in each other, her knees buckling, his hands in her hair, the way he chased her lips at the end. Just yes to all of it. 👏🏽
Tumblr media
gif cred: @ricksmarlene
I love how the kiss is so immensely passionate and then afterward they just have this moment of holding each other and breathing together. Seeing the way Michonne smiles after and touches his face, you can seriously see how safe she feels with Rick. Like she still knows so little about this place but she’s back in his arms so she knows somehow it’ll be okay. 🥲
And then y’all, we get the first signature Richonne forehead touch in TOWL as they break from the kiss and still stay wrapped in each other's arms. It's one of the classic Richonne things they do and I love the intimacy of it. 🥹
Tumblr media
gif cred: @lousolversons
That kiss clearly left them breathless as Rick whispers, “They believed you.” And Michonne earnestly asks, “How do you know?” Rick says, “You’re here.” And the way he says that you can tell his elation comes not just from the fact that she passed the CRM vetting process but most of all that she’s really here with him after all this time.
And then because Rick is like this rendezvous is about making out first, information second - he goes right back to kissing Michonne and moaning as they pull each other in as close as possible. 😊
Tumblr media
gif cred: @nat111love
Michonne reciprocates but then she notices something. And this is where the loss of Rick’s hand is mourned yet again by me because we all know the reason Michonne notices Rick’s missing hand is because she’s like normally this would be the part where I feel your hand on my backside but it hasn’t happened yet so, something must have happened.
After not feeling that signature palm on her behind, she stops to touch Rick’s prosthetic and I adore how Rick is still so in the moment of kissing her that he kisses her one more time as she turns to look at his arm. The man is voracious about his wife and I love it. 😊
Tumblr media
gif cred: @nat111love
Michonne gently holds his prosthetic in her hand and looks at Rick with so much care and concern as she wonders what happened. I feel like this is the first time in years that anybody showed this level of care for what Rick went through and I love that she immediately wants to know what happened to her baby. You know if the CRM had cut his hand off themselves the beef she has with them would only intensify. In a way, the CRM did have a hand in Rick losing his hand so they gotta pay.
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
Rick looks down at his prosthetic too and shares sadly but also with a certain resolve, “It happened a long time ago. One of the last times I tried to get home.”  I love that he says 'tried to get home' rather than just 'tried to get away.' It shows that in every way the CRM is not home - Michonne and their family still are home to him.
Also, it’s interesting how for Michonne this is devastating news but for Rick, this is old news and he’s just like what’s more important is making out rn. But Rick’s words catch Michonne’s attention as she repeats his words back and says, “One of the last times?”
This is Michonne’s first indicator that Rick might have stopped trying to get home. I think in her mind she thought surely Rick would have been still working on an escape but after fighting like hell to get home for years he had to stop trying - and not even because he wanted to give up but because he was made to feel that going home could get his wife and loved ones killed.
(Side note: I love that the bullet shell from Rick's gun is visible in Michonne’s hair in this scene. She really found every way possible to still be close to him 🥲)
Tumblr media
gif cred: @nat111love
Rick’s reaction to her asking this makes me emotional. 😢 He looks into her eyes as he too hears how his words sound and then he takes a deep breath. Breathing tells a very informative story throughout TOWL. And with this inhale from Rick you can just feel the weight of what he’s been through and now, finally having a moment to share some of it with Michonne, it’s probably difficult for him to even know where to begin.
Tumblr media
gif cred: @nat111love
It’s hard because we as the audience got to see how hard he fought to get home but at this moment you know it's overwhelming to even know how to tell Michonne how hard this years-long separation and imprisonment has been on him. But he so badly wants Michonne to know that it wasn’t for a lack of trying or a lack of love that he stopped trying to get home.
He tells her, “They had me trapped.” And then the way my heart literally overflows with emotion when Rick so sincerely says, “They don’t have me anymore.” It’s so moving and beautiful to see Rick become the heart-eye emoji as he tells Michonne they don’t have him anymore. 🥲
There’s a clear second part of that sentence that’s not said aloud but rather in Rick's eyes - 'they don’t have me anymore...because I’m yours.'
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
The way he looks at her with that teary-eyed smile, knowing he’s hers. 😭 It's touching and layered because he so sincerely wants to reassure Michonne of this, all while knowing that the damage they've done to him is pretty severe.
It’s also so powerful for him to say this because while their situation is still dire and in many ways, Michonne and us will learn the CRM does still have him more than he’d like, in this moment Rick genuinely wants to believe that he’s no longer chained to the CRM.
They don’t get to have him anymore, even if that’s what it still looks like on the outside, because the woman who makes him come alive, the brightest light in his world, is back with him. That alone makes him feel like he is no longer stuck with the CRM.
Rick knows his heart will always belong to her and that was communicated in this sweet line and his loving eyes and smile at her after he says it.
Rick then says with certainty, “We will get away. Together” because right now he does believe that Richonne can do anything. He’s tried to get away for years but having Michonne here now makes all the difference.
Tumblr media
gif cred: @nat111love
And I love the eye contact as he looks at her with so much love and smiles, feeling so right being back with her. Like just looking at her gives him strength. At the same time, it moves me how much you can see in his eyes that he's eager to be the determined and strong man Michonne once knew, despite feeling dead and broken after what he endured the last seven or so years.
Tumblr media
gif cred: @nat111love
Michonne of course believes and is comforted by Rick’s words that they’ll get away together as she smiles and nods. Again she trusts him more than anybody in the world.
Tumblr media
gif cred: @nat111love
Also, I love how Rick’s reunion with Michonne as his wife is one where without even having to address it they both just know they’ve waited for each other. They know they’re still the one to each other. As we know, after just a few months Rick reunited with Lori and she was already pregnant with his best friend's baby. So it’s beautiful to see Rick now reunite with his wife Michonne after years and know that she really has only wanted him all these years. And if anything her big reveal will be that she was pregnant with his baby. 🥲
But while that's understandably not revealed in this scene, there's still some more great mom and dad content when Rick again wants to confirm his baby girl is okay.
He asks, “They're okay? She's okay?” I love him asking that and the way he asks, nodding and looking right into Michonne's eyes. Again it’s so vulnerable and caring. A true father. You know making sure his loved ones are good is so important to him.
Tumblr media

And “they’re okay” means team family which is sweet that he wants to know they're okay. I liked hearing "they're okay?" too because while Rick doesn't know it, he does in fact have more than one kid out there and it almost felt like without even knowing it he’s asking if both his kids are okay.
Michonne answers with a smile and says, “Yes. She’s okay.” She has this smile that’s so specific to when she’s thinking about her kids and it’s precious. 🥲
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
Michonne continues, wanting to finally tell Rick all about how amazing their daughter has turned out as she goes, “She’s…” but then she stops herself and you just know the image of a certain Little Brave Man has popped into her head. 😭
And it’s a moment that hits my heart as you see Michonne feel both joy and sadness. Because she misses RJ too and because she knows Rick is going to be filled with layered emotions the second he learns of him.
Since the moment she found out she was pregnant you know Michonne longed to be able to share with Rick that they had a baby. Rick can tell she has something big to say too as he asks, “What is it?”
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
I noted in this scene you can really tell that Rick can sense that Michonne has something major to tell him and he knows it’s about their immediate family but he doesn’t know what it is which is why he keeps thinking it might have to do with Judith being okay. Like you can see sometimes he searches her eyes trying to figure it out because whatever the news is he can feel it’s about their kid. And he’s right. It's just about the kid he doesn't know of yet.
And you can also see the thoughts running through Michonne’s head as she and Rick stay in each other's arms between these vehicles. She longs to tell him about RJ but knows this isn’t the right time yet. And as always, she’s right. I heard there were some viewers upset and thinking she made the wrong choice by not telling Rick right here and now and that was wild to me.
This is Richonne’s first time getting to even have an extended conversation and even then it can’t be that long because they can’t risk being caught. And major life-changing news that you have a son that you had no clue about and have missed all of his life thus far is not the kind of thing to drop on someone when there won’t even be time to elaborate and ask questions and just process the news together.
I fully support Michonne choosing to wait and it’s actually such an act of kindness to Rick because she knows that news is going to shock him and be very bittersweet and just a lot to take in and she ideally wants to tell him when they can more freely talk.
Like after holding their child in her womb alone she basically chooses to now hold the news of their son alone just a bit more for Rick’s well-being.
Rather than just drop it on him and have him carry that news on top of carrying the task of getting them home, she shows discipline and restraint and lovingly smiles as she tells him, “When we get away.” (Also I always just love thinking that when Michonne looks at Rick here she’s seeing all of RJ’s little traits he got from his dad. 🥰)
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
I adore the way Rick says, “No. She’s okay?” He’s such a concerned dad and again he knows, because of his and Michonne’s interconnectedness, that there’s something more she has to say about their immediate family. I just love that he’s like I can’t wait until we get away to know for certain our baby girl is okay. But Rick, little do you know the news is actually about your beautiful baby boy.
Also, the fact that Rick is so not okay after everything he’s been through all these years but his main care is that Judith is okay 🥲. Warms my heart.
And then the way Michonne responds, it’s my favorite thing ever. 🥹She says the absolute perfect thing as she assuredly tells him, “She’s us, Rick.”
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
Y’all. 😭 It’s the perfect response and so true. Judith really is a little Richonne baby. 🥹
It’s so beautiful for Michonne to tell Rick that their daughter is just like her mom and her dad. Rick gets to know not only is their baby alive and okay but she has qualities like him even despite his absence and she’s also like the love of his life which you know would make him happy to see Judith turn out like Michonne.
I love that Michonne looks at Judith and sees her and Rick. 🥹 And that they’re an 'us' like that. And also I love the way Michonne has her hand in Rick’s hair as she comforts him with this confirmation that their baby girl is bound to be okay because she’s just like her resilient parents.
Michonne calmly says, “The rest when we get away” and hearing Judith is them is enough for Rick to feel a bit less anxious and agree to wait for the rest of the family updates.
Tumblr media
gif cred: @riickgrimes
He nods and then remembers this is probably also a good time to get their next steps in order.
Rick tells Michonne if he passes her a note somehow she has to read it and destroy it. Michonne looks into Rick’s eyes because she has to address some things about this shady CRM as she tells him, “They killed people, Rick. Dozens of people.” I know Michonne is like my friends died and I almost died from these people so wth is this place? (Also I love how often she says Rick’s name since they've reunited.)
Tumblr media
gif cred: @coolpartytimefan
As Rick mesmerizingly stares into her soul (and i'm not even exaggerating about that lol) Michonne says, “They’re killing people out there. Have you had to…?” And before she can finish the question, Rick is quick to want to make it clear that he means it when he says he’s not with them as he says, “No. No. The ones in red. They go out sometimes. They come back covered in blood.”
He looks at her toward the tail end of that statement but it’s interesting how for the most part he looks down when talking about the CRM, again almost like there’s this sense of shame and fear surrounding them.
He says, “Most of us don’t know what they do. I didn’t know.” Rick looks into Michonne's eyes as he admits to not knowing about the CRM's mass killings and then he vulnerably says, “But I knew. I was stuck here.” That’s the one thing the CRM made very clear to him.
Seeing the toll the CRM has taken on her friends and now her husband, Michonne knows the CRM needs to be taught a lesson and brought down so she, as determined as ever, asks Rick, “Could we stop them?”
And y’all I absolutely adore Rick’s response to her. 😍 The way a big smile spreads across his face as he gets to see Michonne is still the woman he knows and loves who won’t take anything lying down. She's still her. Again, you just see him have so much love for the part of her that’s a fighter. Like the way Rick just has to swoon for a second over his wife's determination is the sweetest thing. 😊
Tumblr media
But then Rick collects himself, knowing taking on the CRM is too risky as he definitively answers, “No.” Michonne takes a moment to look at Rick, surprised and searching for the man who was always willing to fight the fight with her before. Then she asks, “Could we try?”
Rick is quiet for a moment, not wanting to have to just turn her down about this, but he knows a thing or two about how hard you can try against the CRM and they still come out on top. So he softly says, “We’d never get back.” Getting home with Michonne is the ultimate priority for him.
And then in the first of many times Rick will gift Michonne in TOWL, he reaches into his pocket and gives Michonne Nat’s signature lighter that his stepparent Danger gave him. 🥹
Once again Rick wins Husband of the Year because how sweet is his good kind heart that he saw the lighter in the woods and pocketed it knowing it would mean something to Michonne to have something of her late friend. He’s the best. 🥰 And I love the way he gently lifts up her hand with his prosthetic to give her the lighter and the way their hands linger in each other as she takes it. Every time they touch it's clear they're magnets. 🧲
Rick so sweet and sincere says, “I’m sorry about your friend.” Like truly, anything and anyone that means something to Michonne means something to Rick because he loves her so much - even the guy who nearly killed Rick by shooting down his helicopter.
Michonne, never one to forget her loved ones' memory, says, “He should’ve lived. They all should’ve lived.” But then she takes a quiet moment and confidently looks right into Rick’s eyes as she says, “I’m here now. We’re in here together now. And we’re gonna get home.”
Tumblr media
gif cred: @ddesole
I love how Rick and Michonne both want to fervently reassure each other of this - that they’re in this together and they’re going to achieve their goal of getting home because they’re here as a unit now. Having each other back makes them know they can do anything…at least for now.
And then Rick is ready to go back to the activity that was always at the top of his agenda for this secret rendezvous because he’s like 'Michonne, you can’t be a hotly determined A like that and think these magnets aren’t going to kick in to overdrive and have me eating your face again lol.' #DirectQuote 😋
So Rick of course leans in to kiss her again and Michonne looks like she might’ve thought they were going to continue the conversation but then of course it takes less than a second for her to reciprocate the energy and start passionately kissing him back.
Tumblr media
gif cred: @hikarielizabethbloom
I really adore that closing kiss. These kisses stay feeling like they’re trying to inhale each other and physically morph into one being. and then I especially adore the way they embrace after it, just overcome with the amount of love they pour out to each other. It’s so sweet seeing them nestled into each other. 🥰 Every physical Richonne action, from the kisses, the forehead touches, the embraces, and more is so 'spine-tinglingly' intimate.
As Rick leans against her, you can see that he does feel a bit overwhelmed and unsure of how he’s gonna get them out of here. But being wrapped in her arms now he’s at least given the strength and the calm to know somehow they’ll find a way.
And as Michonne holds him close, she looks like so long as she has him, she’ll face whatever else may come her way in this giant mysterious place. It really does feel like she's transferring this much-needed uplifting energy and reassurance to him as they stay in this embrace.
Tumblr media
The way Richonne gives each other life gives me life. And this scene makes me so happy like it’s oozing serotonin.
Richonne is in for quite a roller coaster after they leave this moment in the garage so I appreciate this scene - their first extended conversation in years - for giving them a time when they're on the same page.
With this scene, they got to show that their chemistry is still as fiery as ever and they’re still such a well-oiled machine as parents and partners. Whenever Rick and Michonne are in each other's arms they’re in the safest place they could be.
But while they’re the ultimate safety to each other, to the CRM...Richonne is most definitely the danger. 😌👌🏽

HOW TO GET THE GIRL: A LOVERS GUIDE
Tumblr media
CHAPTER EIGHT: making progress...(726)
WARNINGS: none :)
◃ previous ep. ⊹ masterlist ⊹ next ▹
Tumblr media
The next few days went by much faster than anticipated and you found yourself perched in front of the double doors of the school library. You raised your phone to your face watching as another 5 minutes went past.
You and Riki had a brief conversation the night before planning out the time and place of your first study session.
An agonizing 30 minutes went past before you finally decided to enter the library, it was quiet and nearly empty as you looked around to find a comfortable spot to set up.
You didn't want to lack faith in Riki but your expectations of him coming to any of your tutor sessions were quite low. Because of his position as star player on the school's basketball team, he was able to easily wiggle himself out of academic trouble without any harsh punishments and barely a slap on the wrist. You couldn't help but envy him a little because of it.
While pouting at the thought of the unfair treatment, your mind couldn't help but wander to him. His quiet charm, his tall, muscular but slim figure, his alluring goofy smile, and contagious laugh..
An unknowing smile reached your lips as you fiddled with the loose thread of your cardigan. You were so lost in your thoughts that you had failed to notice the approaching figure of the boy you were daydreaming about.
The thud of his backpack slamming onto the table startled you from your fantasies as your eyes looked up to meet the worried gaze of Riki.
"I'm really sorry." he quietly muttered out, lowering himself into an apologetic bow. You opened your mouth to refute his apology but was soon cut-off by his insistent rambles.
"I got stuck at the convenience store, I-um wanted to get you a drink and something to snack on but I didn't know what you liked." He reached into his bookbag before pulling out a strawberry cream soda and a chocolate bar.
Your confused and slightly startled expression softened into a grateful one as you reached out for the treats and placed them in your own bag. "There was also this really long line and-"
"Riki, it's fine." You softly interjected, putting a halt to his jumbled mutters. "Thank you, I really appreciate it." you continued with a gentle smile before gesturing to the seat across you.
He hesitantly nodded in acknowledgment before sitting down. Your eyes hadn't left his figure since you were made aware of his presence but now that he was directly in front of you and less jittery you were able to take in more of his appearance.
His chest was heaving in heavy breaths while beads of sweat gathered at his forehead. "Riki, did you— did you run here?" You asked slightly exasperated, knowing that the closest convenience store to the school was a mere 10 to 15 minute walk.
"Is it that obvious?" He asks, a weak attempt of a laugh escaped as he grabbed the rest of his needed supplies.
"Riki, you didn't have to do that. And you could've texted me to let me know you'd be a bit late."
"I know I didn't have to, I just wanted to." He responded while flipping through his notebook. "And I was going to text you but I didn't want to spoil the surprise so I decided against it." he added on, his eyes briefly leaving the blank page of his notebook to connect with yours.
You froze for a moment. You felt trapped by his gaze until you suddenly remembered the impassive act you were supposed to be playing up. Funnily enough, you had already failed when you started daydreaming about him but your ego refused to let him get off as easy as he was used to.
You cleared your throat before lowering your head to your books. "Let's start at page 56." You quickly suggested, The lingering stare from the boy sitting across you went unnoticed as you tried your hardest to shift your focus onto the task at hand.
Riki mentally gave himself a pat on the back at your expression, being a mix of shocked and fondness at his simple yet thoughtful gesture.
"Making progress." he thought to himself before looking down at his own book, failing to conceal the growing smile on his face with his fist.

The Official CrossDad Ranking of The Bad Batch Season 3 Episodes
I love TBB Season 3 so much, and it's partly because of Crosshair's arc and his growing bond with Omega. His attitude toward life in general and her specifically really evolves throughout the season, to the point where he becomes CrossDad™️.
So I thought I'd rank all the S3 episodes by how many and how significant of CrossDad moments we get.
Disclaimer: I'll only be counting episodes where Crosshair and Omega have screentime together (Ep 1, 3-9 and 11).
So, starting with the least CrossDad episode and working our way to the most:
9. Episode 3.01 "Confinement"
Tumblr media
Crosshair literally tells Omega that if he had a chance to escape he wouldn't think twice about leaving her behind. Ouch. I’m 99% sure he’s lying, but it’s still not very CrossDad of him to say that.
He also says "I'm not them" when Omega says he's her brother.
But, I guess bro had to start somewhere.
Grade: F
8. Episode 3.03 "Shadows of Tantiss"
Tumblr media
Unsurprisingly this is only slightly better. Crosshair's definitely mad at Omega for just winging an escape, but he goes along with it and watches her back. He's definitely not as protective of her here as he is later in the season, but I guess that's to be expected.
The one highlight is, once she thinks they've failed and they'll be killed or recaptured, his Dad instincts kick in and he praises her for getting them as far as she did.
Grade: D
7. Episode 3.08 "Bad Territory"
Tumblr media
As much as I love Crosshair and Omega's scenes in Bad Territory -- in fact, they're the only good parts of the whole episode -- I don't think Crosshair acts much like Omega's dad in this episode. More like that older sister-younger brother dynamic she's teased him about before.
However, there are a few crumbs I can highlight:
Crosshair telling her she needs to stay safe and Hunter agreeing with him.
Crosshair's unenthused look when Omega talks about Phee.
As Hunter correctly deduces, Omega is the *only* person Crosshair would listen to about getting his hand examined.
Omega telling Crosshair he doesn't like anything and him agreeing with her.
Crosshair looking very sad and upset when he realizes just how much time he's missed with Omega.
Still, overall, definitely not the most CrossDad episode of the season.
Grade: C
TIE-5. Episode 3.11 "Point of No Return"
Tumblr media
This is a weird one, because while we don't get a lot of CrossDad moments with Omega, the episode goes out of its way to make parallels between Crosshair and Hunter to show they're both parental figures to Omega.
I'll talk about this more later on, but one of the ways S3 really solidifies CrossDad is by putting him alongside Hunter so it feels like they're co-parenting Omega together.
This episode does that, in part, by sidelining Wrecker the entire episode. Crosshair and Hunter go up to the colonnade together to get Omega while Wrecker loads the ship, and they watch over Omega together after Wrecker's incapacitated.
And then, we have the parallel between Hunter watching Hemlock's shuttle take Omega away in 2.16 "Plan 99" and Crosshair watching CX-2's shuttle take Omega away from Pabu.
Another poignant parallel that shows Crosshair has become a parental figure to Omega, the way Hunter has been the entire show.
However, I feel like Crosshair ultimately agreeing with Omega's plan to turn herself in is something Hunter would never do. I get that Crosshair was reluctant, tried to talk her out of it and only agreed because he didn't see any better options. But, I still feel like Hunter would never have done that.
Ultimately, I feel like this one's a mixed bag.
Grade: C+
TIE-5. Episode 3.06 "Infiltration"
Tumblr media
Admittedly there aren't many CrossDad moments in this one, as the bulk of the runtime is focused on the CX assassins and Rex's clone underground.
But we do get a few:
Omega copies Crosshair's toothpick thing, just like she did with Hunter in 1.01 Aftermath (and her other brothers throughout the series). Now, she's finally copying him, and he takes note of it.
He just nonchalantly tells Omega the Empire's after her again, but once it's clear there's an operative nearby, he freaks out.
Again, the show pairs Crosshair up with Hunter as co-parents talking about Omega's safety and the bigger problems with Hemlock, Tantiss and the CX operatives. Meanwhile Wrecker hangs out with Omega -- like a big brother distracting/entertaining his sister while the "grown-ups" talk.
Not a lot to work with, but it's cute for what we do have.
Grade: C+
4. Episode 3.05 "The Return"
Tumblr media
This is another episode where we don't get a ton of one-on-one interactions between Crosshair and Omega, and some of the ones we do get fall more into that brother-sister dynamic (ie, "He started it," and Omega sighing in frustration).
But there are some big CrossDad moments in this episode:
When Omega first approaches the beach and Crosshair looks up at her, his expression definitely changes. It's hard to tell because the focus switches as Batcher comes into the foreground, but it honestly looks like he smiles when he sees her. Or at least his expression "lightens up."
Crosshair has a nice teaching moment with Omega where he describes what it takes to be a good sniper!! :)
Despite his resentment and anger toward Hunter, it's clear that Crosshair agrees with Hunter about not wanting to endanger Omega. In fact, he even defends Hunter's stance to Omega and tells her not to hold it against him.
The "you let Omega be taken to Tantiss" exchange is *chef's kiss*. I feel like I could write entire essays about it.
It's clear that, for the first half of the episode, Hunter doesn't like that Omega and Crosshair are so close. Not only does he not trust Crosshair, but he definitely resents Crosshair for helping Omega escape when he couldn't. I think he's also a bit jealous (???) of all the attention Omega shows Crosshair after she and Hunter have been separated for months. Like, she couldn't even spend one minute having breakfast with him and Wrecker before asking where Crosshair was and immediately going to find him. Hunter also needlessly threw Crosshair a dirty look for seeing how much Omega was following him around before they left for Barton IV. Again, I know it's because he and Crosshair have their own issues -- which they resolve by the end of the episode -- but he never seemed insecure/jealous/resentful of Omega spending so much time with Wrecker, Echo or Tech before.
Overall, this is the one episode where it's clear that, despite their personal differences, Crosshair and Hunter both care about Omega and prioritize her safety. Because they're *both* her dads now.
Side note: the little exchange where Crosshair says he'll handle getting the creature outside the perimeter and Hunter saying "Not alone -- we'll do it together" and then Crosshair asking him if he's sure... you can definitely read that more than one way... :)
Grade: B-
3. Episode 3.04 "A Different Approach"
Tumblr media
This episode isn't the *most* CrossDad episode, but I feel like it's the one where Crosshair first starts down the CrossDad path thanks to two big moments:
THE FIRST:
As I said, the show goes out of its way several times to show that Crosshair is on the same path as Hunter -- just two seasons later. While Hunter acted like Omega's dad pretty much from Day 1, Crosshair's just starting his journey in Season 3.
In 1.01 Aftermath, after TBB fails Tarkin's mission, Hunter decides to go back to Kamino for Omega. Even though there's a possibility TBB could be captured or killed if they return to Kamino, Hunter chooses Omega's safety and well-being over his and his squad's freedom.
At the time, Crosshair argued against returning for Omega. But, here in 3.04, he faces the same decision as Hunter: Ensure his own freedom by going to the spaceport OR follow Omega despite the risk of both of them getting (re)captured or killed.
And like Hunter, he chooses Omega over his own freedom and safety.
This was his own Point of No Return, if you will. The moment he first takes up the CrossDad mantle -- never to let it go again.
THE SECOND:
Additionally, in this episode, we have the Imperial officer mistaking Crosshair for Omega's dad. I'm 99% sure that Hunter is the only Bad Batcher who was assumed to be Omega's dad before this episode. I can't recall anyone ever doing that with Echo, Wrecker or Tech before -- just Hunter. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
The fact that another character in-universe believes Crosshair is Omega's dad is a purposeful choice by the writers. The captain could've easily said "I've never seen you two around here before," and the conversation could've continued the same way. The fact that he says "dad" is significant, because again, we're drawing parallels between Crosshair and Hunter.
And in this episode, where Crosshair ultimately makes the same "Omega>freedom" choice Hunter did, that seems poignant.
ADDITIONAL POINTS:
Outside of the two big items, I'll only say that there are a few other CrossDad elements in this episode, like him being ready to square up against anyone who threatens Omega. Including a poor street kid. LOL
But, the bulk of the time, he follows her lead. She tells him they need new clothes; she has the idea to bribe the spaceport employee; she decides to "hustle" people at the cantina; and she refuses to go with Crosshair after the Imperials take Batcher. Heck, even the "Let's try things your way" line is still HER decision.
Hunter definitely has his moments where he defers to Omega's judgment (and moments when she just 100% defies or disobeys him), but the narrative and other characters definitely see him as the one who has the final say as the squad leader and her guardian.
So, we can see that Crosshair might be transitioning into a "dad" role, but he's definitely not there yet.
I also like how he grabs the briefcase of credits, even though they didn't really need it anymore. He was like, "I'm not going to let all of Omega's hard work go to waste." LOL
The final moment I want to highlight is Crosshair trying to emotionally prepare Omega that Hunter and Wrecker might not be there. Of course he was wrong, but I appreciate that he was not only looking out for her physical well-being in this episode, but also her emotional well-being too.
Overall, this is one worth being in the Top 3 of Most CrossDad episodes.
Grade: B
2. Episode 3.09 "The Harbinger"
Tumblr media
Like 3.05 The Return, we don't have a lot of one-on-one interactions between Crosshair and Omega. But, again, the narrative and other characters go out of their way to treat Crosshair as a full member of The Dad Batch.
Asajj seems to view all three brothers as equally problematic toward Omega's possible Force training. She doesn't single Hunter or Crosshair or Wrecker out more than the other two -- they're all "overprotective shadows" in her eyes.
If anything, I think that shows just how well Crosshair has slotted into the family dynamic in such a short amount of time. Hunter and Wrecker have been with Omega longer and arguably know her better, but Crosshair is just as fiercely protective of her as they are.
It also demonstrates how far he's come in just half a season. Seven episodes ago he said he'd leave her behind without a second thought (although he was probably lying), and now he's fighting a former Sith apprentice because she might be a threat to Omega's safety.
But, while Asajj might view all three brothers the same way -- and to a certain degree they are -- the narrative once again has Wrecker playing a different role in Omega's life while putting Crosshair and Hunter on (near) equal footing.
Multiple times throughout the episode -- namely the family meeting in the Marauder and the final conversation with Asajj -- we see Hunter and Crosshair are framed more as co-parents while Wrecker acts as either guard dog or Omega's distraction while the "grown-ups" talk.
One final point I'll make is that, while Crosshair nominally agreed with Hunter's plan to let Omega train with Asajj alone, he also made it clear he disagreed with Hunter’s decision. He basically gave himself an out. Like: "You might've agreed to let Omega train with a former Separatist assassin unsupervised, but I made no such promise so I can intervene if I see fit. I'm only up here with you guys because of peer pressure."
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a big fan of this episode in general, and honestly wish we could've consolidated it with 3.08 Bad Territory somehow. But, it's definitely a CrossDad heavy episode, and in that respect, I *am* here for it!
Grade: A
1. Episode 3.07 "Extraction"
Tumblr media
You all knew this had to be No. 1. It's THE quintessential CrossDad episode!!
I love the little touch of Omega going to look down the spire alongside Crosshair. She really is trying to learn from him, and he doesn't seem to be opposed to it.
As we see later in this episode and again in the finale, once Crosshair knows a CX operative is after them, he volunteers to face him. I know he has all sorts of reasons for wanting to confront CX-2 by himself, but protecting Omega must be one of them.
Once they get away and crash-land in the jungle, we get THE CrossDad conversation -- which was apparently a late addition by the production team.
Once again, he's checking on Omega's physical and emotional well-being. He makes sure she's safe and knows what to do, even though they've been in at least two firefights together at this point.
And once again, we get another parallel between him and Hunter, this time by Omega herself!
Omega: You're as bad as Hunter. Crosshair: Oh, I'm much worse.
He's so fully embraced the CrossDad path that it convinces Howzer (who understandably didn't trust Crosshair earlier in the two-parter) that Crosshair really is different.
Once those Jango Fett "dad genes" kick in, all the clones are practically different people, and Howzer clearly sees that in Crosshair. I'm sure it reminded Howzer of his own time on Ryloth and how much he cared about the Syndulla family and Hera specifically.
We also get a nice allusion to Crosshair's own journey of loyalty. He said earlier in the two-parter that he wasn't loyal to the Empire any longer, but didn't really specify who he was loyal to now. But, Howzer clearly sees Crosshair's now 100% dedicated to his family, especially Omega.
During the first skirmish between the protagonists and the Imperial troops, Crosshair unnecessarily tells Omega, "Stay by my side and stay down."
I say unnecessarily because 1) he should know by now Omega can handle herself and 2) neither Hunter nor Wrecker felt compelled to give her similar directions. But, he's full CrossDad™️ in this episode, so his first priority is her safety. It was also objectively a good idea for Omega to stay with Crosshair, considering he has an infrared sight and could see enemies the others couldn't.
Which is exactly what happens when Crosshair realizes CX-2 is after them. So, once again, he takes on the responsibility of distracting CX-2 so Omega and the others can get to safety.
Omega doesn't like his decision, and in the perfect CrossDad™️ move -- in that it combines all of Crosshair's quintessential traits with those of the quintessential dad -- he turns off his comm and says under his breath: "Too bad." LOL
The fight against CX-2 is so well-done, in part because we see exactly who Crosshair used to be in S1 and who he could've become in S3 if he hadn't resisted Hemlock's "re-education" efforts.
Granted, this was a headcanon someone else shared, but I like the thought that Crosshair was able to resist specifically because of Omega.
Either:
Hemlock controls the CX operatives by enhancing the effects of their inhibitor chips (like what Tarkin & co did to Crosshair in S1); in which case, Crosshair is immune because he took Omega's advice in S1 and removed his inhibitor chip.
OR
While he'd never admit it, I'm sure seeing Omega regularly (probably daily) on Tantiss gave him some amount of hope and comfort in an otherwise desolate and isolated environment. In which case, he had something to hold onto mentally and emotionally while he was being tortured. This would be a nice parallel to Hemlock interrogating him in S2. He didn't break then because he was clearly thinking about his family, and it'd poignant if that was the case again in S3.
In any case, 3.07 Extraction is, without a doubt, the most CrossDad episode in S3. I honestly wish we could've gotten more episodes like it, or just more S3 episodes in general. But, I'm thankful we got to see Crosshair and Omega grow so much -- both individually and together -- this season.
Grade: A+
EDIT/UPDATE:
Episode 3.15 "The Cavalry Has Arrived"
Tumblr media
I initially said I wasn't going to grade the finale, because I felt like it'd be too hard. But I kinda had a change of heart:
While I won't put it in the official ranking, I will share some thoughts and give it a general score.
This is another episode that falls into same category as 3.05 "The Return": Omega and Crosshair might not have a lot of screentime together, but the narrative and other characters go out of their way to reinforce Crosshair's role as a co-parent to Omega.
The first time Crosshair mentions Omega is in the "change of plans" scene. It's genuinely heartbreaking for a myriad of reasons, but one is that Crosshair doesn't feel like Omega needs him the way she needs Hunter and Wrecker.
I personally don't feel like this is a very CrossDad moment. Him doing whatever it took to infiltrate Tantiss and rescue Omega -- absolutely. But deprecating himself and saying he deserves to die -- definitely not.
(Tech's sacrifice was different, because there was no alternative. That definitely wasn't the case for Crosshair.)
Look, I know why he says it. He must feel like Hunter and Wrecker genuinely mean more to her, and after letting her surrender on Pabu and missing the shot to track her ship, he probably also feels like he failed her and doesn't deserve to be in her life anymore.
Thank goodness Hunter and Wrecker talk sense into him! (Btw, I love their little look at each other when he says "Omega needs you both." They're like, "Buddy, she'd be devastated if you died. That ain't happening.")
And I love that it's Hunter who emphasizes to him that Omega needs all three of them in her life. This moment -- plus the final confrontation later -- shows how far Hunter and Crosshair's dynamic has evolved, especially regarding Omega.
Moving on, the next time we get a real CrossDad moment is when Hunter says he's going after Omega and recommends Crosshair stay behind.
Considering that Echo and Wrecker were still fighting the CX clones, Crosshair covering them from above would've been helpful. So it wasn't a terrible suggestion on Hunter's part, but that's not Crosshair's place emotionally or narratively.
If Hunter's going after Omega, he is too. They're going to do it together, as they've said since 3.05.
And I'll say: once again, the narrative sidelines Wrecker while putting Hunter and Crosshair on (near) equal footing.
Wrecker stepped into his role as the team's Tank and fought off the CX clones long enough to give Hunter (and Crosshair) a chance to save Omega. His role in the story -- just like in Omega's life -- is important, but it is different from Hunter and Crosshair's roles.
And now we have THE SCENE.
Tumblr media
Holy crap. I can't tell you, as a CrossDad fan or just a TBB fan in general, how much I adore this scene!!!
Hunter and Crosshair take out CX-2's Dagger together. I'm sure they both had their respective flashbacks of helplessly watching Omega be taken away, and they both thought, "OH HELL NO!! We're not letting that happen again!"
They take every move together. They destroy the Dagger; they shoot Scorch; they take a knee on the bridge after Hemlock puts the blaster to Omega's head. They're in total lock step.
Until Hunter catches Omega's signal, but Crosshair apparently doesn't.
So, Hunter tells him what he needs to do. He physically and emotionally supports him in that moment.
It's also crazy to think that Hunter is trusting Crosshair with Omega's life, and the fact that Crosshair is hesitant to shoot while Hunter is encouraging him. How far these kids have come since 1.01 Aftermath!
As I've alluded to before, Crosshair has been kind of speed-running through Hunter's Dad arc from S1-2. Now, he gets to the moment where he must fully accept how capable Omega is and trust her. This is something Hunter has understandably struggled with before, but he seems to have made his peace with it by this point.
But, Crosshair hasn't.
He loves Omega so much AND has lost so much confidence in his own abilities for numerous reasons that he can't stand the thought of potentially hurting her.
It's a far cry from the shot he made to save her in 1.16, when he had full confidence in his abilities and didn't seem to realize or care that he might endanger her if he missed.
But, with Hunter's support and Omega's faith, he makes it!
And now the hug:
Tumblr media
Omega runs toward them, but rather than flinging herself onto one or both of them, she stops a few feet away and smiles. It's only when she sees Crosshair's missing his right hand that she goes to hug him first.
(BTW, the English-Audio Description version confirms that Crosshair's eyes well with tears in that moment.)
Crosshair definitely doesn't like to be touched. We've seen this as far back as 1.01 Aftermath, when Wrecker's messing with him. His brothers and Omega seem to be the only people he'll accept physical affection from, and even then, he doesn't really reciprocate it.
Until now.
He doesn't use his arms, but he closes his eyes and presses his head against Omega's as she hugs him. Also, once they start walking back, he puts his right stump on her shoulder.
Side note: others have pointed out how Hunter's body language in that scene suggested he wanted Omega to hug Crosshair first, that he was happy when she did, and that he hugged both Omega and Crosshair back. I agree with this assessment. Hunter clearly understands how important Crosshair and Omega are to each other, and really reinforces how all of them are a family together.
Now, I really wish we could've gotten one post-Tantiss conversation between Omega and Crosshair, because they haven't had an onscreen conversation since 3.11. (Although that's better than poor Wrecker, who hasn't had an onscreen conversation with Omega since 3.09.)
Tumblr media
But, I do love that, once Crosshair and Wrecker settle into their "family portrait" pose, Crosshair is on Hunter's side. Again, it's significant to their relationship as brothers, as well as co-parents to Omega. They're going to be supporting each other for the long run. (Wrecker too, but I would imagine in a different way based on his role in the narrative.)
One final thing I'll mention is that, in the epilogue, Hunter says, "You're our kid, Omega. You always will be."
Hunter might've been the first one to step into the role of Omega's Dad, but he also recognizes that he didn't raise her alone. She's not just his kid. She's Crosshair and Wrecker and Tech and Echo's kid too. They all raised her, together.
It reinforces the same point as 3.09: Crosshair might've been the last brother to officially join the Dad Batch, but he was a full member all the same. Even Hunter acknowledges that.
Anyway, looking at the finale on the CrossDad ranking, it's a weird one, because we only have a few CrossDad moments in the hourlong episode. But, man, do those moments really pack a punch!
If I have to grade it, I think it'd put it in the same ballpark as 3.05 "The Return." It hits a lot of similar beats as far as the Hunter-Crosshair dynamic and how the narrative once again frames them as co-parents to Omega.
But, we got the long-awaited Crosshair-Omega hug, so I think that automatically bumps it up from a B- to a B!
Grade: B
*****
Here's to hoping that, somewhere down the line, we'll get a Bad Batch comic, novel, spin-off show, cameo... something! I'd love to get more CrossDad content, but I suppose fanfics will have to do for now! LOL
Thanks for reading 'til the end, especially now that I've added in the super-long finale analysis. :)

Forever
Ep-7 "The Valkyrie" SimonGhostRileyxFemaleReader
"I am a Valkyrie. And I will take the dead to the feast."
**Kabul, Afghanistan.
5 years Later:**
Special forces had been deployed to Kabul to restore order. Special Agent Activities Andrea Shepherd sat in a helicopter, her eyes scanning the barren landscape below.
"How long until we land?" Andrea asked the helicopter pilot over the roar of the engine.
"Just about an hour, ma'am. We're reaching the hills now," the pilot replied, his voice steady.
"Hmm," Andrea mumbled, gazing down at the sparse, rugged terrain.
The hour passed slowly, but eventually, the helicopter descended, touching down on the roof of a building. Andrea was the first to step out, her boots hitting the ground with purpose. A soldier approached and guided her to a corridor where her superior awaited.
Laswell, a white, middle-aged woman with short hair, stood with an air of authority. Andrea snapped to attention and saluted. "Agent Andrea Shepherd, at your service, ma'am," she announced.
"Andrea!" Laswell's voice was warm but firm as she shook Andrea's hand. "You're our most trusted agent. That's why you're here. Al Qaeda has become a significant threat. I know you won't hesitate to take action if needed."
"Thank you, ma'am. I won't disappoint you. I promise," Andrea replied, determination gleaming in her eyes.
Laswell nodded approvingly. "Good. Let me show you your room, Shepherd. Follow me."
As they walked through the narrow corridors, Andrea glanced at her watch. It was 4 p.m. The base was a hive of activity, soldiers moving with a sense of urgency and purpose.
"How's the situation on the ground?" Andrea asked, breaking the silence.
"Tense," Laswell admitted. "The locals are on edge, and the insurgents are getting bolder. We need someone with your skills to tip the balance."
"I'll do whatever it takes," Andrea assured her.
They reached a modest room, sparsely furnished but functional. "This will be your quarters," Laswell said, opening the door. "Settle in. Briefing is at 0600 hours."
Andrea nodded. "Understood, ma'am."
Laswell placed a reassuring hand on Andrea's shoulder. "We're counting on you, Shepherd. Welcome to Kabul."
"Thank you, ma'am," Andrea said, stepping into her new room. She set her bag down, the weight of her mission settling over her. There was no time to waste. She had work to do.
"It's your room. Inform James if you need anything," Laswell said, pointing toward a young soldier standing nearby.
"Okay, ma'am. Thank you," Andrea replied. She headed into her quarters, took off her coat, and tossed it onto the couch. Moving to the window, she looked out over the city, a mix of large and small buildings sprawled before her. The reflection of the narrow, muddy roads and bustling market filled her blue eyes.
The city was small, its bazaar filled with people scattered about, creating a lively, if chaotic, scene. Andrea took a moment to absorb the view, letting the reality of her new surroundings sink in.
Later, as she entered the briefing room, she noticed a group of Special Air Service soldiers. Laswell introduced them with a firm, confident voice.
As Andrea entered the briefing room, her eyes scanned the gathering of Special Air Service soldiers before her. A mix of anticipation and uncertainty washed over her. Each soldier embodied the raw intensity and determination that defined the elite unit. These were men who had seen the worst the world could offer, and yet continued to fight on, their spirits unbreakable.
Laswell stepped forward, clearing her throat to get their attention. "Everyone, this is Andrea Shepherd, our CIA field agent. She'll be joining you for this mission."
Captain Price, a seasoned veteran with a steely gaze, stepped up and extended his hand. "Captain John Price. Welcome to the team, Andrea."
She shook his hand firmly. "Thank you, Captain. It's an honor."
Beside him, a younger soldier with a focused demeanor nodded in greeting. "Sergeant Kyle Garrick. It's good to have you with us."
Andrea nodded back. "Likewise, Sergeant."
Laswell continued, "This mission is critical. We have intelligence on a Taliban compound where women and young girls are being held captive. Our objective is to infiltrate, secure the hostages, and extract them safely. Andrea will breach the security code and enter with the women, disguised in an abaya."
Price's face hardened with determination. "Consider it done."
Andrea appreciated the confidence in his voice. "I'll make sure the security systems are down before we go in. We won't have much time once we're inside."
Laswell handed out the mission details. "You'll need to be fast and precise. We don't know how many hostiles are in the building, so be prepared for anything."
Price looked at his team, then back at Andrea. "We move out in ten. Gear up."
The soldiers quickly gathered their equipment, checking weapons and ammo. Andrea followed suit, ensuring her M14 rifle was ready and her combat knives were in place. The weight of the mission pressed on her, but she channeled it into focus.
As they boarded the helicopter, the rotors cutting through the air, Andrea felt a sense of unity with the team. These men were her brothers in arms for the duration of the mission, and they all shared a common goal.
The flight to the target was tense but silent. Each soldier was lost in their thoughts, preparing for what lay ahead. When the pilot announced they were approaching the drop zone, Andrea tightened her grip on the rope.
Descending onto the roof, the team moved with practiced precision. Andrea's heart pounded in her chest, but she kept her breathing steady. They kicked the door open and stormed into the building, Price leading the charge.
Inside, the chaos erupted. Gunfire echoed through the corridors as they engaged the militants. Andrea moved swiftly, her training kicking in as she neutralized threats with deadly accuracy.
Inside, one of the women wearing an abaya had gone to the bathroom. It was Andrea. There, she unbuttoned her long black abaya and removed her veil, revealing a black T-shirt and jeans underneath. She was armed with combat knives and an M14 rifle. Her mission was to rescue the captive women from the Taliban.
Silently opening the bathroom door, she emerged, ready for battle. As a trusted CIA agent, she was a lethal fighter who never hesitated to kill, yet she carried a deep sense of justice, especially for the women held captive and abused.
She began shooting the Taliban soldiers, aiming for their heads and chests. The women screamed and ran in panic, trying to avoid the bullets. This chaos was happening on the first floor of the building.
Captain Price and Garrick methodically cleared each floor, breaking down doors and neutralizing militants. As they reached the second floor, Price saw Andrea running down from above.
"Get them out of here," he shouted to one of his men, hearing gunshots from below.
"Who's down there?" he demanded.
"I don't know, sir," a team member replied.
"Let me see for myself," Price said, descending the stairs. He was shocked to find Andrea in the lounge on the ground floor, fighting the militants with incredible skill and agility.
"Holy shit," he muttered, awestruck. He had never seen a woman fight with such precision and ferocity. She moved like a seasoned warrior, dispatching the militants effortlessly.
Price took cover behind a marble statue, watching her in awe. Despite his admiration, he knew he needed to assist her. As he stepped out to shoot, his rifle jammed.
"Shit!" he cursed, expecting to be gunned down. In a flash, Andrea grabbed a sword from a fallen militant and hurled it toward an attacker. The sword pierced the militant's chest, killing him instantly. She used his body as a shield and shot another militant, eliminating both threats.
With the area clear, she stood with her back to Price, breathing heavily. Price emerged from his cover, stunned by her prowess.
"That was impressive," he said, his voice filled with respect.
Andrea turned to him, her expression unreadable. "We need to get those women out of here. Now."
Price nodded, signaling his team to proceed. Together, they escorted the rescued women to safety, ensuring no one was left behind. The mission was a success, but for Price, the real revelation was Andrea's extraordinary capabilities.
Back at the base, as the sun rose over Kabul, Andrea felt a sense of accomplishment. The war was far from over, but in that moment, they had made a difference. And for Andrea, that was enough to keep fighting.
Laswell stood in the small, windowless room, her attention focused on a series of screens in front of her. Each screen displayed a different camera angle, offering unique views of the mission unfolding before her eyes. The hum of electronic equipment filled the cramped space, punctuated by the occasional static crackle or murmured radio conversation.
Her eyes flicked from one screen to another, absorbing the details: the movement of soldiers, the flash of gunfire, the chaotic dance of a mission in full swing. Each screen told a part of the story, and she stitched them together in her mind, forming a comprehensive picture of the operation.
"Agent Shepherd is in position," a voice crackled over the radio.
Laswell leaned closer to the screens, her eyes narrowing as she watched Andrea move with practiced ease, dispatching enemy combatants with lethal precision.
"Good," she murmured, more to herself than to anyone else in the room. "Let's get those women out of there."
On another screen, she saw Captain Price and his team advancing, methodically clearing each floor. Price's voice came through the radio next.
"Laswell, we've got heavy resistance on the second floor. Shepherd's engaging the hostiles on the ground level."
Laswell's jaw tightened. "Understood, Price. Maintain your position. Shepherd, do you copy?"
Andrea's voice came through, steady and controlled. "Copy, Laswell. Engaging hostiles and securing the captives."
Laswell watched as Andrea moved through the building, a blur of motion and efficiency. Her heart pounded in her chest, but her face remained impassive, her focus unyielding. Every second counted, and she knew the stakes were high.
"Price, Shepherd, proceed with extraction," she commanded, her voice cutting through the static. "Let's get them out safely."
The room fell silent save for the soft, constant hum of the equipment. Laswell's eyes remained glued to the screens, her mind racing with a thousand possibilities, each one more dire than the last. But she trusted her team. She trusted Andrea.
The mission was far from over, but in that small, windowless room, Laswell held on to hope, her belief in her team unwavering. They would succeed. They had to.
As the team returned to base, Andrea felt a surge of satisfaction. The mission had been dangerous, but they had succeeded. She had proven herself once again, not just to the CIA, but to her team.
Price approached her as they disembarked from the helicopter. "Andrea, I've worked with many soldiers in my time, but you... you're something else."
Andrea smiled slightly, a hint of pride in her eyes. "Thank you, Captain. Just doing my job."
Price nodded, respecting her humility. "Let's debrief and get some rest. We've earned it."
As they walked away, the sun began to rise over Kabul, casting a new light on the city and their mission. The war was far from over, but in that moment, they had won a significant victory.
The debriefing was a long and arduous process, but necessary for them to discuss the mission's successes, failures, and ways to improve their tactics for future operations. The team gathered in a small conference room, their eyes heavy with exhaustion, but their minds still focused. Captain Price stood at the front, while Laswell sat beside him, her gaze moving across the room as she listened to the different reports and observations.
Price cleared his throat, commanding the room's attention. "Alright, let's start with a rundown of the mission. Shepherd, you first."
Andrea leaned forward, her expression serious. "We breached the building as planned. Encountered heavier resistance than anticipated on the first floor. Managed to neutralize hostiles and secure the captives."
Laswell nodded, making a note. "Good work, Shepherd. What about the security breach? Any issues?"
"No issues," Andrea replied. "The code was simpler than expected. We were able to move quickly."
Price turned to his team. "Garrick, your report?"
Garrick rubbed his eyes, fighting off fatigue. "Second floor was a nightmare. More militants than intel suggested. We cleared it, but it took longer than planned."
Laswell interjected. "Do we know why there was an increase in numbers?"
Garrick shook his head. "Not yet. Could have been a recent regrouping or reinforcements we weren't aware of."
Price nodded. "We'll need better intel next time. Any injuries?"
"Minor ones," Garrick replied. "Nothing that would compromise future operations."
Laswell leaned back, absorbing the information. "We need to review our intel sources and ensure this doesn't happen again. What about the extraction? Any issues there?"
"Smooth," Price said. "Once we had the captives, we faced minimal resistance on the way out. The helicopter extraction was on point."
Andrea spoke up again. "The women were in poor condition, but they responded well to our presence. They're safe now."
Laswell made another note. "Good. We'll arrange for their care and debrief them separately."
The room fell silent for a moment as everyone processed the debrief. Price broke the silence. "Any suggestions for improvement?"
Andrea glanced around the room. "We need better intel, as Garrick mentioned. And perhaps more support on the ground for unexpected increases in enemy numbers."
"Agreed," Price said. "We'll adjust our protocols accordingly. Anything else?"
The team shook their heads, too tired to think of more at the moment.
"Alright, get some rest," Laswell concluded. "We'll reconvene tomorrow to finalize our report and prepare for the next mission. Good work, everyone."
As the team began to disperse, Andrea caught Price's eye. He gave her a nod of respect, which she returned. Despite the exhaustion and the lingering adrenaline, there was a sense of accomplishment in the room.
Andrea sat in the dimly lit conference room, the quiet hum of the ventilation system the only sound breaking the silence. The mission had been intense, the rush of adrenaline now slowly ebbing away, leaving her with a sense of weariness that seemed to sink into her bones. As she replayed the events of the night in her mind, she couldn't help but feel the weight of her responsibilities as a part of her job.
Lost in her thoughts, she was startled when Captain Price's voice broke through the stillness, clearing his throat to get her attention. Andrea looked up, her senses sharpening as she focused on him.
"Andrea! Can I have a moment?" Captain Price's voice was calm yet firm, the kind of voice that demanded attention in any situation.
"Yes, of course, sir," Andrea replied, straightening up in her chair. She was always respectful of Captain Price, admiring his leadership and experience.
"Please, have a seat," he gestured to the chair opposite him at the conference table. Andrea complied, her mind racing with thoughts about what he could possibly want to discuss.
"Why don't you join the task force with us, Andrea?" Captain Price's question hung in the air, his tone serious yet inviting. "Your father, General Shepherd, has founded Task Force 141—a team comprised of the best of the best. Judging by your skills back there, I'm amazed. You did a fantastic job. We could put your skills to good use."
Andrea's heart skipped a beat at the proposition. Task Force 141 was legendary in military circles, a covert unit known for taking on the toughest missions with unmatched precision. The idea of joining such a team was both thrilling and daunting.
"Thank you, Captain Price," Andrea responded, her voice steady despite the excitement bubbling within her. "I'll talk to my dad about this."
Captain Price nodded, a hint of approval in his expression. Andrea couldn't help but feel a surge of pride at his words. She knew that whatever decision she made, it would mark a significant turning point in her career—and possibly her life.
As she left the conference room, Andrea's mind raced with possibilities. Joining Task Force 141 would mean stepping into a world of secrecy, danger, and unparalleled skill. It was a challenge she was ready to face, knowing that her father's legacy and her own abilities would guide her through whatever lay ahead.

Pick Your Vice Versa Outfit ↳ Talay Rawi Edition [Puen ver.]
My Top 10 Talay Outfits for @stormyoceans  layout insp. [x]
+ bonus:
Tumblr media
(some thoughts under the cut!)
more rambles about these outfits for you monica! i hope you enjoy ^^
TOP 10 Talay Outfits explained:
10. Zebra Boy a stylish and flowy zebra print shirt with basic white slacks and talay’s signature white bag. this one is so silly but cool i had to include it. i actually am obsessed with both of the white & black print shirts tess owns but the other one is mostly worn my ohm in the series so i didn’t inlude it here (ep 2 when tess/talay goes to pester tun at the café). also i just like this scene a lot and couldn’t get over the “secret lover” -line.
9. Reunion Blues a simple navy blue dress shirt and light colored pants plus talay’s round glasses. listen: am not a big fan of talay’s clothes in his own universe even if he looks adorable in them, but this one! this one is a legend. straight up iconic. he looks so pretty in dark blue and then we have this whole scene and ugh. just pure insanity.
8. Goodbyes taste bitter an orange and white striped shirt and black jeans. am so obsessed with the v-neck of this shirt, it’s crazy. i don’t blame puen at all for instantly going like, “oh yes, that’s my bf now” bc honestly? very understandable. talay just looks so good in this shirt, holy hell. continues on the road of, “why must you dress up so nicely when the occasion is breaking my heart?” i guess these two are similar like that.
7. Let us kiss again a red-blue-white striped sweater with red pants. i love this color combo on talay so much. blue and red just suit him. the shirt is also tight fitting and it’s amusing to see puen Struggling bc of it. man is not able to keep his hands off. it’s very understandable but pls sir, calm down. you’ve known each other like two weeks. and you still haven’t even told talay that you’re not kissing him just bc but bc you’re head over heels in love with him. get a grip.
6. First Kiss a simple white sweatshirt and red/fucsia pants. i don’t want to say this but i have to say this: talay’s ass looks amazing in these pants. like, am not one to stare but oh boy. it’s right there! stealing the show! and then it’s combined with talay’s sexy wet hair after running through the rain to look for his long lost lover friend who he wants to make up with. Literally. bc they’re kissing by the end of this. and i scream.
5. The Green Sweater a yellow-green sweater combined with white pants. talay looks adorable in this with his guitar and the sweater paws. am not at all surprised that puen looks close to tears bc bitch, me too. it’s just So Soft and then it’s mixed with the guitar (+ the lotus flower) and talay singing a love song and. i want to hug him so bad, puen get out of the way it’s my turn now.
4. The Wedding Suit a light pink colored suit, apparently without a shirt underneath. this whole thing began with this suit. as i said, this one is 100% outshining the one puen wears in this scene. i am just in love with this suit; the color, the simplicity, the cut, the way talay wears it so casually. he looks amazing and positively ethereal. puen is marrying him on the spot. talay is thinking it’s a joke but i might just tell him it’s not. get a ring and be done with it, would you. this might sound controversial after me saying puen is rushing things with the kisses but i don’t actually have anything against it.
3. Loneliness is yellow a simple black sweatshirt with bright yellow pants. i feel like the more heartbreaking the scenes get, the better talay gets dressed. he’s always serving looks when am crying on my floor. i don’t mind tho bc why not have several mental breakdowns at the same time, saves me the time. he looks absolutely glorious in that black shirt, and the colored pants are a wonderful touch. if tess got nothing else, at least he's had the sense to buy all these clothes.
2. The Gray Jacket a textured gray jacket with a black shirt and white pants. the texture on this jacket makes me go wild bc it looks so nice to touch and the whole jacket looks so cozy. am wondering how talay can wear that with the heat but that’s fortunately something that doesn’t get to me through my screen. he looks very huggable once again. he looks positively radiant when he smiles. and it’s just a plus that puen looks so gone for him bc yeah, valid. am in love with this sunshine boy too.
1. Second chance a gray sweater with red details, combined with red pants. honestly talay’s best outfit in this whole show hands down. every time i start this ep, i am just blown away by this outfit. the styling team was going crazy that day. the shirt has a v-neck, the red details work so well, it fits talay nicely, the rolled sleeves, the delicate bag. the pants are tight fitting and make his legs look extra long and slim. especially in that billiard room lighting he just looks insanely pretty. i want to yell into the void. the void might yell back at me.
Bonus: Striped Bathrobe a black and white striped robe, worn mostly for breakfast. i am not really sure what to call this but a bathrobe felt like the closest fitting one so i went with it. it’s crazy how this is literally the second outfit puen ever sees talay in if we don’t count talay being half naked. he got absolutely bewitched and talay is not even bothered. this striped robe is what truly mattered. and please let’s not talk about ai’dang.

My Love Mix-Up Th
Ep. 5
I did not do a bullet point reaction to this and I will no longer do so for upcoming episodes. This summaries my feelings:
“My Love Mix-Up! [4/12] - So... this is not good. The technical aspects of this are actually bad. Considering the number of sponsors is actually kinda incredible that it's so badly put together. The sound, the lighting, the editing, overall just... not good. Now, the rest. Look I don't want to ruin anybody's fun, so I'll keep watching this one quietly, unless something outrageous happens. But for the record, and this is all I'm gonna say, they are ruining the best parts of these characters and this story, and even if I ignore that (which I can't because it's an adaptation), it's pandering and it's a lazy attempt at recapturing the magic of msp, with a worse script and recycled material. Also I cannot believe they didn't put Atom in a trashing bag.”

My last commentary is this: Ignoring that this should not be a remake because they do not care about the original work but everything also feels so forced. The plot points and the characterization all bends towards characters having moments. I’m not against turn off your brain shows but it is worrying that they are putting their heavy hitting popular pairs in these types of shows. It seems that overall GMMTV is moving towards have these moments and nothing else matters. There is a spectrum there from My School President (the show seemed to go on tangents work at cafe versus sticking to the they are band overarching plot) to We Are (gibberish plot that repeats the same thing over and over again). I think it’s frustrating to me because the money and the talent is there. The actors sell these moments well for the most part but I want romance in my QL. I want love.
Do I @my-rose-tinted-glasses ? I'm not sure of tumblr ethic.

immediate doctor who thoughts before i dive into tags/etc. spoilers for space babies and devil's chord:
both kind of mixed bags for me, where i had fun and was enjoying myself but no immediate no-qualms super faves. i preferred devil's chord for being a bit more dramatic over space babies being a bit too silly
space babies:
a bit too silly for me, although i find it objectively hilarious that RTD has heard a decade plus of criticism of farting aliens and was like "lmao watch THIS"
i did prefer this brief commentary on abortion to kill the moon lmfao
15 and ruby are super fun together, ruby jives into the companion role well and easily, old news by now haha but ncuti gatwa is a great fit for the doctor
the AI program run amok creating a bogeyman plot was neat i thought, like, conceptually, lol
felt a bit unresolved? like where is that thing going... to the refugee planet? is it ACTUALLY dangerous or just scary?
assumed they were going to reveal it was 'just scary (looking)' but it wasn't with the babies at the end lol
i have no clue what the status of the time lords is now -- another genocide?? when?? -- but also i don't care, god bless, love and light xoxo
some parts of this ep i felt like i had to just nod and remind myself they're treating it almost like a pilot episode
def some familiar beats with end of the world, rose seeing earth, calling home, etc. i prefer EOTW as an episode alas
devil's chord
liked this one a lot more, for like. 95% of it
couldn't afford licensed music LOL
ruby's theme on the piano is great
really enjoyed maestro as a villain! and i am interested in all the toymaker, giggle, pantheon stuff
caught the giggle noise right away and was :O
also i'm sure 1000 people pointed it out in the tags but for the record i did immediately clock the billboard for "chris waites and the commanders" -> "the one who waits" -> big bad hint. exciting
loved all the sort of... surreal playing with environment stuff the gods(??) are able to do, it adds a lot more tension and stuff to the ep and lets the show have fun. i think the supernatural, myth angle is going to be fun
susan reference! aw
'june or july 2024' lool they had no idea what the release window was gonna be huh
the 5% i didn't enjoy very much was the "twist ending". i like musicals! i was hyped for a musical ep! but that was... ??
overall season:
8 episodes is so short! but i guess it does allow them to really hone in on this ruby, toymaker, snow, myth mystery stuff. 15 and ruby have a great vibe and i'm looking forward to the rest

This video is just new (released 6 days ago as of posting). An honest, thorough, and heartfelt retrospective review of Ultraman 80. It's still my most favorite Ultraman series. It held so much promise and potential but it ended up being a mixed bag, objectively speaking. Still, it has its moments and I enjoyed it. I even want to watch it again (I'm watching Ultraman Tiga right now).
Too bad the teacher arc/school setting was dropped unceremeniously early in the series but now, after watching this video, I realized the circumstances surrounding the series' rather unfortunate change in direction that caused its ratings to drop at the time of its broadcast.
The episode 41 in Ultraman Mebius in 2006 - Ultraman 80/Yamato-sensei reuniting with his students - sought to rectify the wrongs that had been done to the Ultraman 80 series. I was in tears while watching it (even those who haven't watched Ultraman 80 said they were crying lol). Last Teacher's Day (Oct. 5) I made an Ultraman 80 fan video and posted it here. It contains some scenes from Ultraman 80 and Ultraman Mebius (ep. 41).
I like the parting quote of this video: "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." Ultraman 80 has really become what it is decades later. People now realize just how hard it is to guide and nurture the present and also future generations.

Kane & Raiza Masterlist
A writing collab with @whumpsday (Kane the meow meow prince belongs to Mill, Raiza is my own terrible creation) [pron: ‘rye-zuh’]
This will be a collection of different stories/‘episodes’ without a super strict timeline. I’ll be listing chapters in order, but the episodes themselves can be read in any order.

Summary: Raiza hears a rumor that spikes his curiosity. A vampire, helpless, powerless, and afraid, is being offered up to him on a silver platter by an old friend with a mixed reputation. Despite any moral sense, Raiza has been known to indulge in such... curiosities. And he's never met a beast he couldn't tame.
After years of captivity, Kane is a shell of the powerful vampire he once was. Endless torture, starvation, and abuse at the hands of his vampire hunter captors have rendered him an unrecognizable, traumatized husk of a man.
He begs for death. He gets Raiza instead.

EP.1 : Don't talk to strangers
A/n: haloo! This is my first book/ series! Please let me know what you guys think, thank you so much for everyone's support! uwu
You sighed.
Finally.
You shut down your computer for the day, having worked a full 5 hours without breaks. Which was a big deal considering you had been itching to read your new manga book instead that had been sitting on your nightstand for a few days.
You get up and take a bathroom break and look around for your cigarette pack. You deserved it.
There they are!...and they're empty.
Great.
You sigh deeply and rub your eyebrows trying not to make a big deal out of it, you had a long day of work after all, why was it hard to just at least one cigarette waiting for you if not a man or woman?
Putting on your hoodie and not even bothering to change out of your sweats, you make your way to the door and grab your keys and wallet.
You loved night time, it was your favorite, your most productive time, your most lit and active hours. Daytime couldn't compare to the joy night time brought you.
You look around at the lights, the vapes shops and cafes, the ramen shops and internet cafes.
You even saw a cat in an alley way and something else you wish you didn't see.
Drunks.
More like jealousy that you weren't them right about now.
You walk about farther, the air hitting just right, it was summer after all and everyone was out and ready to have an active nightlife just like you used to.
You had just been too busy lately, is what you keep telling yourself.
The truth was that you really were to awkward and introverted.
Every guy that tried to converse with you was either brushed off or you didn't recognize their efforts.
Wasn't your fault they weren't- okay yes it was.
But with that point aside, you make it to the 7/11.
This one was your favorite and not to mention convenient because it wasn't too far from your apartment.
They had all your favorite snacks, and of course what you came here for: cigarettes. You stopped buying lottery tickets years ago since you wouldn't win and it was eating up what could've been put to something else like.. Manga and Hello Kitty- I mean the rent.
You walk in and enjoy the cool air since it was about humid outside but not as bad as daytime.
That's why you stayed home, but then again it doesn't matter what season you will always argue that it's better to stay home than socialize.
"Hey y/n." The cashier says, you were sort of known here since you came embarrassingly more often than you thought.
"Hey." You say as you go to the counter.
"Same pack as before?" You nod.
You didn't buy cigarettes often, you would only smoke when you were anxious or stressed.
And boy was work stressing you the fuck out.
The cashier rings up the pack and look around the store, you see some snacks and couldn't help yourself.
When was the last time you ate?
You decide to go down the snack aisle and get you some snacks.
You hear the door ring as someone else walks in.
"Hello." The cashier greets.
"Hey, let me have a pack and some scratch offs."
You scoff to yourself.
The scratch offs are hopeless.
"Oh, and some of these." He says as he picks something else.
His voice was low and you could tell he had a satori accent, you just couldn't recognize from where exactly.
You pick up your snacks and go to the front.
You see him and stare.
His long hair, standing an inch taller than you, his black boots and rings on his long fingers.
His tiny hoop earrings and his necklace, one of them a guitar pick and another a kitty, which made you automatically not take him seriously.
He had sunglasses on his head which pushed his hair back, his cologne a bit strong but also mixed in with some other smell, you guessed alcohol.
You look down at what he bought, some scratch offs, a pack of cigarettes, some gum and tangerines.
You snort and look away.
"What?" He says as he looks at you while the cashier bags his stuff.
"Nothin'" you mumble as I try not to laugh.
Oranges? Seriously?
Though you couldn't laugh too much considering you were badgering junk food and a sausage stick.
He raises an eyebrow suspiciously before grabbing his bag and getting his change.
He walks out and you watch, forgetting momentarily that it was your turn.
You couldn't get over the fact that he really was stupid enough to get scratch offs and not mention tangerines. You couldn't get that at a regular grocery store??
"Y/n?" The cashier asks hesitantly as you stare off.
"Huh?" You say as you come back to reality.
"Sorry, what's the amount?" You say as you pull out your wallet.
"15.75." She says as you hand her a 20, waiting on your change.
You get your change and walk out, what you didn't notice is him standing there, smoking a cigarette.
You get startled slightly.
"Can you not stand so close?" You say as you hold your chest and your snacks close.
He scoffs as you puffs out some smoke.
"Or you could watch where you're going." He says with sarcasm.
You scoff back.
"Fine, but don't be mad when you get smacked with the door."
"Oh shut up I wasn't even standing that close."
You huff.
You take out your own pack of cigarettes and open it, getting a cigarette out and lighting it.
"Hm, you don't look like a smoker." He mumbles as he takes another puff.
"And you don't look like an orange addict."
"They are tangerines." He hums as he puts out his cigarettes.
"Whatever."
You watch him check his phone as you smoke your cigarette, you take a puff and look around, watching people pass by.
"Shit.." he mumbles as he puts his phone in his back pocket.
"Have somewhere to be?" You hum as you exhale.
"Maybe." He mumbles and gets a piece of gum out.
"You know that won't make up for the cigarette smell right?" You say as you raise an eyebrow.
"It's not for that smart ass."
You blush slightly, feeling embarrassed that your even in his business.
"I'm trying to quit." He announced as he puts the pack away.
You fight to say something else smart but you could tell he was being serious with you.
"I don't smoke as much, just when I'm stressed or anxious.. just to keep busy." You admit.
You had only started a year ago since the pills you were prescribed weren't working.
He sighs and leans against the brick wall.
"Same but I had a serious problem, I tried to switch to snacking but it didn't work."
Snacks..maybe I should try..
"How long have you been smoking?"
"A few years, you?"
"A year."
He smirks and you raise an eyebrow.
"What?"
"Nothing." "See ya around."
"See ya orange." You joke as you put out your cigarette.
He scoffs. "Later, vanilla."
I gasp and scoff with disbelief as he walks away his hand in his pockets with a cool demeanor, which somehow pissed you off.
Vanilla?
You look down at your bag and see the vanilla ice cream dripping from your bag.
"Damn it!" You huff.
🫧✨
You walk home and set your bag down.
Now, you usually don't talk to strangers.
So you were a bit surprised at your actions, you were awkward so what made him talk to you?
With his cool attitude and laid back demeanor, his satori accident and his voice dropping with a smooth and relaxing tone-
What are you thinking?
You shake off the thought and put away your snacks.
You sit on the couch eating your melted ice cream that you were stubborn about wasting even though it spilled.
You decide to settle in for the night and watch your favorite anime, silently hoping to see the tangerine lover again.

okay. i believe now it's time to put it all together.
ep 1 the anglerfish: all in all, i like this episode. it did a good job of establishing the world, characters and plot of the magnus archives podcast as a whole. we are introduced to jon and his coworkers. the statement is believable and has a good mix of mystery and creepiness, with jon at the end bringing the perspective of an investigator in.
ep 2 do not open: not entirely sure how i feel about this episode ngl. i'm always a bit queasy when drugs are mentioned, and they were mentioned a lot. also, the coffin was literally just too much for me i was so scared and i WANTED to know what was in it. i do like the fact that he froze the key into a bowl of ice and then shattered it when it needed to be collected.
ep 3 across the street: i did not like this one. it wasn't so much as amy's actions that threw me off - although i didn't like that either - but it was more so the fact that seeing someone being replaced like that is my greatest fear. i kept thinking, "what if that were my sister and i was the one watching. . ." and that is a HORRIFYING thought to be having so no thank you.
ep 4 page turner: while i didn't like ep 3 because I was genuinely scared, page turner was the first episode where i actively got bored while listening. i just... it was only a book that made dominic feel as though he were falling by just looking at a picture and then maybe some ghost action at the end? it was not for me, sorry.
ep 5 thrown away: this one i liked lol. it wasn't because of the scariness, or the characters, it was literally just, "i like this story cus it fits." i have no clue why i felt that way but i really liked the statement. the description of the contents of the bags and the mysterious culprit.
and that's all for now! i think i want to do this for every episode so that i'm not as scared lol
-✨
:D glad ur enjoying it :D0

Hellooo i was intrigued by your "fucked up supernatural shit" posts so i binged the fucked up episodes you suggested and now I'm a supernatural fan, sadly. I still refuse to watch all of it so i would very much appreciate if you could recommend some more fucked up episodes, especially focused on sam-dean-john dynamics. Also I like your taste in fucked up stuff so if you have any other fandoms to recommend I'd also appreciate that
idk if you caught the reblog with the Sicko Cut Bonus Episodes but every suggestion in there is also a doozy; for a broader range of "sick shit and fucked-up family dynamics" episodes i'd expand it to (previously recced eps in parentheses):
season one: 1, (6), 9/10/11, 14/15/16, (18), and (20/21/22)
season two: (1)/2/3/4/5, (8), 10, 11, (14), and 20/21/22
season three: this is where my ability to pick favorites starts breaking down; s3 is kinda my fave of all the seasons, but for the overall vibe rather than particular standouts. it's only 16 episodes long, so watching it in full is more doable. but the fucky family shit is strongest in episodes 1, 2, 8, (10), 11, and 14/15/16.
season four: i regret to admit that just about every episode in this season is a straight fucking banger. like, the only two i'd be tempted to skip aren't even bad. but extra-special sicko shoutouts to episodes 1, (3), 9/10/11, 14, 16, 19, and 20.
on to the slimmer pickings...
season five: the first five are a fun time and the last two or three SLAP, but man, the handful of salvageable eps in the middle are buried in a minefield of ones i WANT to slap.
season six: look, i may not respect s6 or think it's good, but by GOD do i enjoy it. the WHOLE THING is the new showrunner's grody id-fic, but episodes 5 and 10 are on a special level of sick.
season seven: .....no.
ok, ok, MAYBE 1, 2, 11, 15, and 17. but this is where SPN starts getting truly wretched.
after that... 8x03 i guess, 9x07, 9x19, 10x03, 10x09, 11x04...
s11 i actually found pretty enjoyable, and everything from 11x09 through 11x14 starts serving GREAT grody id-fic vibes again. but bail out after 11x19 at latest, because the end of the season is. bad.
s12-15 have a couple of arc plots with sicko potential i guess? but in my head most of the episodes are an undifferentiated blob of Does Not Fuck.
there are also a handful of early-seasons eps that are softer and sadder that i love a lot: 1x03, 1x12, 2x13, 2x16... plus for "mixed bag but the fun parts are a total blast," 2x17, 3x06, and 3x12.

Forever
Ep-5 "Parted" SimonGhostRileyxFemaleReader
"The reason it hurts so much to separate is because our souls are connected."
On the other side of the English Channel, Simon read through Andrea's letter, clutching it tightly in his hands. His eyes scanned over her words, each one a warm embrace from her spirit. The letter made him miss her more, but it also gave him strength. Her resilience always amazed him.
He took out his notepad and started penning his response, his own thoughts and emotions pouring onto the page. He wrote with a heavy heart, aware of the challenges she was facing. Yet, he remained positive in his words, assuring her that he was there for her, even if not physically.
The loss of Andrea's mother was profound. She kept busy with her studies and continued to communicate with Simon through letters, finding solace in their exchanges. She never mentioned her father, General Herschel Shepherd, who had just become a well-known US Army General. He had always been a looming presence in her life, fulfilling all her expenses even after her mother had taken her to Manchester following their divorce.
After her mother's death, Andrea, now 17, found her life taking another drastic turn. General Shepherd had secured custody of her again. This day started like any other, with Andrea preparing to go to college, but something was different. She spotted a line of black cars outside her small home. Then there was a knock on the door.
Opening it, she was surprised to see her father, General Shepherd, standing there flanked by men in black. Without a word, he took his daughter into a firm embrace.
"I have come to take you back with me, Andrea," he said.
Andrea stood frozen for a moment, the unexpectedness of the situation sinking in. The world outside seemed to blur as she processed his words. The general's presence was imposing, a stark contrast to the modest life she had known with her mother.
"Back with you?" she echoed, her voice a mix of confusion and apprehension.
"Yes," General Shepherd affirmed, his tone leaving no room for argument. "It's time you come home, where you belong."
Home. The word felt foreign to her, yet in her father's eyes, there was a determination that she couldn't ignore. Andrea glanced around her small house, the place that held so many memories of her mother. It felt like her world was shifting, the ground beneath her feet no longer stable.
She had no choice to say no to her father as he not only had her custody plus he was US army General at that time so she couldn't say no.
She took a deep breath, her mind racing with thoughts of Simon, her friends, and the life she had built in Manchester. But in that moment, she realized that her path was being redirected, and she had no choice but to follow it.
"Okay," she finally said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'll come with you."
General Shepherd gave a curt nod, a hint of relief crossing his stern features. He released her from the embrace, and she took a step back, looking around one last time. This place had been her sanctuary, but now it was time to face a new chapter.
As she gathered her belongings, her mind was a whirlwind of emotions. She clung to the hope that she would still be able to stay in touch with Simon, that their bond would remain strong despite the physical distance that would soon separate them.
With her bags packed, Andrea stepped out of the house and into the waiting car. Her father followed, his presence a constant reminder of the changes ahead. As the car pulled away, Andrea cast one last glance at her home, a silent farewell to the life she had known.
"Wait! I need to meet Tommy before I go," Andrea said, halting abruptly as she stood at the door of Simon's home. She knocked, her heart pounding in her chest. Mrs. Riley answered, her warm smile fading as she took in Andrea's tear-streaked face.
"Andrea, dear, what's wrong?" Mrs. Riley asked, pulling her into a comforting embrace.
Andrea clung to her, the weight of the situation pressing down on her. "I... I'm going back to the States," she managed to say, her voice trembling.
Mrs. Riley's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh, Andrea. When?"
"Today. My father is here to take me," she replied, her words barely audible.
Just then, Tommy appeared at the door, concern etched on his face. "Andrea? What's going on?"
Andrea pulled away from Mrs. Riley and turned to Tommy. "I had to see you before I left. My father... he's come to take me back to the States. I wanted to say goodbye."
Tommy's face fell, and he took a step forward, pulling her into a tight hug. "This isn't goodbye, Andrea. We'll keep in touch. You'll come back, right?"
Andrea nodded, though she wasn't sure of anything anymore. "I'll try. I promise."
They stood there for a moment, wrapped in the bittersweet embrace. The reality of the situation was sinking in for both of them. Mrs. Riley, wiping away her own tears, stepped back to give them a moment.
"Take care of yourself, Andrea," Tommy said, his voice thick with emotion. "And if you need anything, anything at all, you know where to find us."
Andrea nodded again, her throat too tight to speak. She pulled back, giving Mrs. Riley one last hug before turning to leave. As she walked back to the car where her father was waiting, she felt a mix of sorrow and hope. She was leaving behind the people who had become like family to her, but she was determined to stay strong.
General Shepherd watched her approach, his expression unreadable. She got into the car, casting one last look at the Riley house, where Tommy and Mrs. Riley stood watching her leave. The car pulled away, and with it, a chapter of her life closed. But as she faced the uncertain road ahead, she carried with her the love and support of those she was leaving behind, and the hope of reuniting with Simon someday.
Simon sat in his barracks room, the quiet solitude only broken by the soft rustling of paper as he read through yet another letter from Andrea. He couldn't help but smile as he read her words, her voice coming through even in her writing. But something felt off this time. The content of her letter seemed...different. The lightheartedness he had come to expect was replaced by a subtle distance.
He read the letter again slowly, trying to decipher the meanings behind her words.
Dear Simon,
I hope this letter finds you well. I'm proud of everything you're accomplishing over there. I miss you every day and think about you constantly. Life here has taken some unexpected turns, and it feels like everything is changing all at once.
I don't know how to tell you this, but my mother has passed away. It's been incredibly hard, and I've been leaning on Tommy and Mrs. Riley a lot. They've been my rock through all of this. My father has come to take me back to the States. I didn't have much of a choice in the matter.
Leaving Manchester, and everything I know and love, especially you, feels like a part of me is being torn away. I wanted to tell you in person, but there wasn't time. I don't know what the future holds, but I promise to write as often as I can. You've been my strength, Simon, and I hope you know that no matter where I am, I'll always be thinking of you.
Take care of yourself, and please don't forget about me.
With all my love,
Andrea
Simon stared at the letter, his mind racing. Andrea's mother had passed away, and now she was being uprooted from everything familiar to her. He felt a surge of helplessness wash over him. He wanted to be there for her, to comfort her, but he was stuck in his barracks, miles away.
He clutched the letter tightly, as if doing so could bring Andrea closer. The weight of her words pressed down on him, the finality of her leaving Manchester hitting him hard. He glanced around his room, the sterile military environment feeling even more confining.
Determined not to let the distance break them, he grabbed a pen and paper and began to write back.
Dear Andrea,
I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I can't imagine what you're going through right now. I wish I could be there to hold you and tell you that everything will be okay. You've been so strong through all of this, and I want you to know that I'm here for you, even if it's just through letters.
Your father coming to take you back to the States must be overwhelming. I know it's not what you wanted, but I hope you can find some peace and stability there. Please keep writing to me. Your letters are what keep me going through the tough days.
I promise I won't forget about you. You're in my heart, Andrea, always. We'll get through this, just like we've gotten through everything else. Stay strong, and remember that I'm with you, no matter where you are.
With all my love,
Simon
As Simon sealed the envelope, he hoped it would reach Andrea quickly, offering her the comfort she so desperately needed. However, he had no way of knowing that Andrea's sudden move had left her untraceable.
Back in Manchester, Andrea's departure was swift. General Shepherd's arrival had thrown everything into disarray. With military efficiency, he had arranged for their immediate departure. Andrea barely had time to say goodbye to Mrs. Riley and Tommy. Her heart ached as she hugged them both tightly, tears streaming down her face.
"I have to go," Andrea whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "But I'll find a way to stay in touch. Thank you for everything."
Tommy, equally tearful, nodded and hugged her once more. "We'll miss you, Andrea. Stay strong, okay?"
With one last, lingering look at the place she had called home, Andrea climbed into her father's car. As they drove away, she felt a deep sense of loss, not just for her mother, but for the life she was leaving behind.
Days turned into weeks, and Simon waited for a response from Andrea. Every mail delivery brought a mix of hope and dread. But no letters came. Growing increasingly worried, Simon tried to find out what had happened. However, with Andrea now under the protective shadow of General Shepherd, all means of communication had been severed.
The letter Simon had sent was returned, marked with a stark red stamp: "Recipient No Longer at This Address." The sight of it felt like a punch to his gut. He sat on his bunk, the unopened letter in his hand, feeling more alone than ever.
He tried to focus on his training, but thoughts of Andrea plagued him. He missed her laughter, her resilience, and the way she could make everything seem okay, even in the darkest of times. The uncertainty gnawed at him, the not knowing if she was alright, if she was thinking of him too.
Simon resolved to keep writing, even if his letters went unanswered. It was the only connection he had left to her, and he wasn't ready to let go. He poured his heart into each letter, hoping that somehow, someday, they would find their way to her.
Meanwhile, Andrea was trying to adjust to her new life. Her father, ever the disciplinarian, had a strict routine that left little room for personal freedom. She threw herself into her studies, finding solace in her work on cybersecurity. The one thing she clung to was the hope that she and Simon would be reunited one day.
Months passed in this painful limbo, with Simon and Andrea living their lives miles apart, yet bound together by memories.
Months turned into years and six years passed in the blink of an eye.
The extravagant lifestyle Andrea found herself in under General Shepherd's roof was a stark contrast to the life she had known in Manchester. The opulent surroundings, the personal driver, and the prestigious university-all of it was a testament to her father's success. Despite the luxury, Andrea remained focused on her studies, channeling her determination and intelligence into her work. She excelled at her university, mastering the complexities of cybersecurity. Her skills as a hacker grew, eventually leading her to join the CIA as a field agent. Alongside her technical expertise, she trained rigorously in martial arts and hand-to-hand combat, becoming a formidable force.
Back in Manchester, life took its own turns. Tommy had gotten married, and the arrival of his son, Joseph, brought a new kind of joy to the family. Mr. Riley, once a source of turmoil, had changed. His transformation brought a sense of peace to the household, but this peace was fragile.
Simon's military career had earned him respect, but it also brought dangerous enemies. After years away, he returned home for a visit. Standing in front of the house where Andrea once lived, memories came rushing back. The laughter they shared, the quiet moments of understanding, and the bond they had forged in their youth.
Then he walked slowly to the front door of his home, his heart heavy with a mixture of nostalgia and longing. The house looked the same, yet everything had changed. He knocked, and moments later, Mrs. Riley opened the door, her face lighting up with a mixture of surprise and joy.
"Simon! It's so good to see you," she exclaimed, pulling him into a warm hug.
Simon smiled, the familiarity of home washing over him. "It's good to be back, Mom. How's everyone?"
"Come in, come in," she said, ushering him inside. "Tommy's just in the living room with Joseph. He'll be thrilled to see you."
Simon stepped into the living room, where Tommy was playing with his son. The sight of his brother and his nephew filled him with warmth. Tommy looked up, his face breaking into a wide grin.
"Simon! You made it," Tommy said, standing up to hug him.
"Of course," Simon replied, hugging him back. "I've missed you all."
As they sat and caught up, Joseph, curious about his uncle, approached shyly. Simon smiled, ruffling his nephew's hair. "Hey there, Joseph. I've heard a lot about you."
Joseph giggled, his eyes wide with wonder. "Uncle Simon, are you a soldier?"
Simon nodded, feeling a sense of pride. "Yes, I am."
The evening passed with stories and laughter, a temporary reprieve from the challenges of their lives. But as Simon glanced out the window towards Andrea's old house, he couldn't help but wonder where she was and what had become of her. The bond they shared was still strong in his heart, and he hoped that one day, their paths would cross again.
