Danny commits to the Bit a bit too hard...

So! For the first few weeks after his accident, whenever Danny would try to help the people of Amity Park, he would be treated as a Villain.

No matter if he had just defeated the Big Bad of the Week or saved a Cat from a tree, everybody in town only saw him as a Monster or Villain to he feared and hunted down. Danny was really getting sick of trying to get them on his side, until Sam made a suggestion.

"Why not just...play into it?" She said, barely looking up from painting her nails.

It was just an offhand suggestion, but it stuck with Danny. Why shouldn't he lean into it? The people of Amity Park already saw Ghosts as Evil, and they already assumed he was in cahoots with the Ghosts attacking the town. Why shouldn't he just...play into it?

So he does just that.

From that day on, whenever Phantom was spotted he would dramatically monologue about his Evil Plans, or claim that another Rogues attack on the City was his own act of terror.

Box Ghost destroys the towns Warehouses? It was on his orders.

Ember mind controls masses of Teenagers? All part of his Plans somehow.

Every Adult in Town is kidnapped by Young Blood? Danny gave them over to a friend as a Gift.

He crafts an identity for himself as the most Vile and Horrible Ghost that has ever attacked the City, using his own infamy to cement his legend even more firmly. The town only sees a Monsterous Villain, who has eveded capture near effortlessly for months on end, who constantly attacks their City and gets away with it.

Of course he still needs an excuse for how his plans keep getting stopped, and he gets it when his girlfriend Valerie becomes the Red Huntress. Before that, he just claimed infighting or the Fentons getting lucky, but Valerie becoming the Town's Hero meant he had a plausible excuse for how he kept getting "Foiled".

Val was suspicious, because she was not as involved as Phantom painted her to be, but in the end she had no proof of him faking his defeats. And she couldn't come up with any explanations for why he would do that in the first place. I mean, who would fake being a Supervillain? It had to he something else.

This did come back to bite him a while later, when the Justice League decided that enough was enough, and dispatched Justice League Dark to recruit Red Huntress and help Deal with him.

Coincidentally, that was the same day Pariah Dark attacked the Mortal Realm and sucked Amity Park into the Ghost Zone.

And honestly? Danny had spent over a Year proclaiming himself as a Villain who commanded Ghosts to attack the Human Realm, and he had heard about the Right of Conquest being Absolute in the Ghost Zone, so why not make it official? Why not overthrow the Ghost King, become the Ghost King, and cement his identity as a Villain while also forbidding Ghosts from entering the Human Realm without his permission?

He may have gotten a bit carried away and forgotten that the Villain thing was a disguise...but hey! He was still preventing Ghost Attacks! ...mostly. That's got to count for something right?

He may have let the Bit run a bit too far...

i’ve said already many times that The First David Job is one of my favourite episodes for sophie in Leverage, usually in reference to the scene with her, nate & sterling on the rooftop. BUT i also love that episode for her relationship with parker! when sophie says "what would parker do?" and follows the knowledge she’s learnt from parker, it’s a very good almost-end to their season one arc.

over the course of season one, sophie’s gone from saying the same thing as eliot about parker - "there’s something wrong with you" (pilot) - to acting as a maternal figure (feeling parker’s forehead in The Two Horse Job) and mentoring her (The Juror #6 Job). she’s started to get some insight into parker’s past (The Stork Job) and has a rather unique way of seeing parker, noticing the vulnerability and loneliness under her fairly spiky exterior. however, appreciating parker’s expertise is a different thing entirely. The First David Job makes it clear that sophie’s actually been listening to parker and that she trusts parker’s expertise!! sophie takes a very literal leap of faith off the building, lol.

it’s important to me because it shows sophie doesn’t simply pity parker, doesn’t write her off. she’s learnt to appreciate that parker is indeed a very competent, analytical, knowledgeable professional in her field. she sees that same passion for the craft (the craft of crime, yes lol) in parker that she experiences herself. and this all mirrors how sophie comes to appreciate and trust parker’s ability to talk to the mark in The White Rabbit Job towards the end of their whole-series arc. gah!! this First David scene, it’s a good moment. it’s a great moment!! and notably there’s a similar thing between nate and hardison there, likely between nate and parker as well since he’s masterminding this plan.

i think one of the reasons i am so fond of nemona, carmine and kieran is because they are the characters most misinterpreted by the fandom and need someone to defend them like that one meme of the samurai and the cat. no, jared, 19, nemona is not an obsesive yandere that just thinks of battles, she's just a girl alone in a crowd of people that only see her either as a nuisance or a privileged rich girl, when all she wants is a friend as passionate as her to share her special interest. no, jared, 19, carmine is not abusive towards kieran, she's an overprotective sister that thinks his brother is too timid to defend himself, and is willing to make enemies of anyone, including her own brother, just to secure his safety and happiness. no, jared, 19, kieran is not a possessive incel (yikes???) who abuses everyone and his pokémon, he's a kid with confidence issues that's being pressured in a highly competitive environment and who has just lost the "symbol" he thought would mark his worth to a rando that's better at him in every possible way and who has betrayed his trust. this isn't me pulling at straws is what the characters say, in the game, to you, if you, jared, 19, made the smallest of efforts to learn how to fucking read-

Luaisy's great, why does Nintendo do nothing with it?

I was thinking about Daisy's trophy celebration cutscene in Mario Power Tennis after watching a video about Luaisy, and you know what?

I'm gonna go over it bit by bit to show how one singular scene actually ends up saying ALOT about them and how they interact (which is good because it's pretty much the only cutscene they get in...anything 😭):

OK so Luigi specifically being the one to hand out her trophy isn't a big deal, he hands multiple characters their trophies, even characters he isn't particularly close to like Shy Guy and Wiggler. Still, in this case, instead of giving a formal "Congratulations" like he does with most of the other characters he gives trophies to, he excitedly goes "Oh Yeah!"

I'm actually not sure if he's trying to hype up the crowd (since he does turn towards the crowd as he says it, which is why he doesn't see Daisy coming before it's too late), or if he's just especially happy that Daisy won, but either way, I'm sensing favouritism!

But whatever, right? He likes her, we know that. The moment when this scene really starts getting good is when Daisy, wearing roller skates at her own awards ceremony by the way, zips right past him.

Not because she doesn't care about Luigi at all, she says "Hey Sweetie!" earnestly as she zooms past, that's something you only say to someone you care for. What's funny about this to me is that it shows where her priorities lie - she'd rather soak in the glory of her victory and wave at the crowd, even doing a little spin to show off as she stops. Let me be clear, I love this. I love this because it says a lot about Daisy in just a few seconds: she's sporty, she's reckless, she's a bit of a show off, she's more improper than one would typically expect from a princess, and she's prideful, although she does make sure to thank the crowd for their applause.

Luigi, in contrast to Daisy's show of energy and athleticism, is shown to be unalert and clumsy, as he doesn't move out of the way quickly enough and is left spinning. Something something opposites attract.

Daisy then says "I'll take that." in a rather brash way, before going back for the trophy. Then she either tries to grab the trophy but misses, or intentionally spins Luigi around this time just to provide an opportunity to show off, I'm honestly not too sure.

I like both possibilities, as they show either:

A) Unlike Luigi in...pretty much any game during the GameCube era up until (and after) that point (he can even be heard going "Oh nooooo..." in this very scene once the trophy slips from his grasp), she's not one to immediately panic or get worried when something goes wrong, suggesting she's more easy-going. She's also shown to be a lot more alert as she immediately circles back round, eyes only on the trophy, and expertly manages to catch it. This is also another good show of her athleticism.

or

B) Just how eager she is to show off, as she doesn't mind messing with her partner (in a way that not malicious of course) just to provide an opportunity to do a sick trick in front of an audience. She's very much not the nurturing type (good for her).

Either way, the cutscene ends with her catching her trophy and blowing a kiss to the audience. Luigi isn't even annoyed as he's once again left spinning, all he has to say is: "Nice catch" before collapsing on the stage. That guy is his girlfriend's Number 1 fan.

And that's Luaisy! An athletic, reckless, cocky, not-so-typical princess dating a very supportive, but nervous and clumsy boyfailure...

It's too bad everything they get afterwards can pretty much be summed up as: "They sure are standing next to each other."

Would the Trio ever take a fourth? Doesn't even have to be a true romance thing or a physical thing exclusively or even permanently. I just feel like even a cuddle puddle night with them (especially Tess) would soothe my soul and I ache for what they have. And I don't mean a groupie thing either haha.

LOL cuddlefriends are always possible. In fact, if you are friends with Margie, you are a cuddlefriend. She is going to cuddle you. She might even invite Tess if ur obvious abt it.

Raf's kinda the sticky wicket on this... But he's got no problem with the girls being sweet on a new friend, as long as new friend doesn't have a history of scummy behaviors.

A -true- fourth would have to be someone who's put in front of Raf via extenuating circumstances, or someone he meets serendipidously...and finds intellectually attractive...and then continues to show that they're a good sort, -without- giving him a whiff that they're trying to win him over. Someone with good values/morales--who sticks to them even if they think it might upset him. He -really- likes that. Not in the moment, usually...but in retrospect...it's a big positive modifier on his opinion of someone.

And, genuinely--that person would need to be someone who contributes as a source of joy/calm and carries a generally positivite outlook. And has a ton of patience (for him, sure, but -especially- for Margie).

And honestly...at this point...if you have a liscense, can legally drive, and are willing to relieve him of the "Designated Driver" duty on frequent enough occassion--he'll straight up suck your dick*.
