1. if anything ive seen a few theories of kazui possibly revealing himself to be a two faced manipulator of sorts due to his self proclaimed liarness…. like ‘ohh u cant trust what he says he cld be trying to make himself look pitiable to the audience to get voted inno’ sort of theories which is. no he wont do that???

is he a liar? to a degree yes—liar not in the sense that what he says are direct falsities, but more like hes built much of his character to constantly disguise his true intentions/feelings as a defense mechanism. the lies he says are less of words from a schemer and more of redirections from someone who is, all in all, an insecure adult scared of what will happen if he isnt able to meet peoples expectations of him

as much as he calls himself a liar hes mad honest about where he thinks his capabilities lie, which is to say he doesnt believe in his capabilities at all lol. when amane asks him for help with her studies, he turns her down after some consideration bc he doesnt believe himself to be smart enough to help (despite having graduated from a university; sports degree or not credit shld be given where credit is due). when he talks to shidou post ktk attack, he refuses to admit doing any of the work in taking care of the situation and instead puts all the praise onto shidou. even his physical strength and skill (which is arguably the one part of him he does acknowledge and take some sort of belief in) is something he treats as less of something that he has achieved himself and more of an obligation of his—like, hes strong bc to him he HAS to be, bc it is expected of him to protect those who need protecting. he does want to protect others, sure, but much of that wanting comes frm how ingrained it is in him that thats what hes good for, thats what his strength is for (his timeline w/ yuno on her bday says as much nyway)

the way i see it, that self deprication of his plays back into his obsession with meeting the expectations placed onto him, or at least lessening the disappointment of others by lessening those expectations in the first place. if u tell someone that u didnt go to the right university, that u didnt do much to help anyway, that u were born so fundamentally wrong as a person that everything is bound to go to shit as long as ur there (he basically said this to es in his t1 vd im not even kidding), wouldnt that ensure the safety that youre less likely to ruin someone elses confidence in you? less likely to ruin bc in the small chance that u still fuck up, theres not much left to ruin at that point

in the end ig what i wish more ppl understood abt kazui is that hes a liar yes, but not a manipulator. he lies to stay safe, not to be a sadist or whatever. you cant take what he says at face value (in much the same way u cant do the same for any other prisoner tbh), but that does not mean u shldnt take anything he says srsly at all!!!

2. ok this one i have to give a bit of thought, mostly bc i cant pick just one

if the standards were which t2 mv do i enjoy for its direction music n visual wise, purge march takes the cake so quickly. the music itself is so bomb (which like, i cant even find a logical explanation as to why… its just so good to listen to) n the mv itself does such a great job at creating the right atmosphere, both in its flashy theatrics and the subtle uncanniness under it. mayb i have a slight bias bc tpm was the whole reason i got into milgram in the first place, but i stand by it idccc

aesthetic wise, def all knowing and all agony. the horror elements r genuinely disturbing, but not so overbearing that it overwrites the pop style that milgram has going on. i luove the use of amber for blood, plus the filters that remind me of found footage u usually see show up in asian horror movies. i think i was actually terrified the first time i watched the mv

symbolic wise, its cat always and forever god bless. it takes advantage of its aesthetics to hint at subtle secrets so well that it makes me giddy as hell. the use of colors as a part of the set, the transitions frm scene to scene having its own part in making the story, n honestly making the bg more blank than usual readjusts the focus of the mv on what matters p well. i cant mention every detail rn or else id be here all day

SFJKSHFKGSJDGSJ WELL IN MY DEFENSE it's a very messy list and for most of them i don't even have a clear plot in mind, just a vague idea of what i would like to see. they're also all terribly self-indulgent so idk if they can be interesting or good enough to be shared ;;;;;; but since you were kind enough to ask, here's what my jimmysea BLs wishlist currently looks like!!!!

reporter!jimmy/CEO!sea. this is actually the very first scenario i've ever imagined for another jimmysea series and im still ridiculously fond of it. the plot is about sea as a young CEO who gets involved in a scandal about money laundering and jimmy as a reporter who sees this story as a chance to finally make it big. the two of them start out fully hating each other because jimmy believes sea is just another rich guy who thinks he can do whatever he wants, while sea already hated reporters in general but having jimmy constantly poking around his business and even trespassing is making him dislike them even more. except at one point jimmy ends up finding something that proves that sea is innocent so they begrudgingly team up to find the truth. also features guypapang as a side pairing.

and they were roommates. oh my god they were roommates. inspired by the maybe this is love mv, this was originally a very lovely anon's idea which i still really like. it features jimmy as a grumpy reclusive writer with a too big of an imagination and sea as a down to earth sunshine florist. they somehow end up living together and becoming best friends and falling in love. you can read some more details here and here if you want!!

ONCE AGAIN IM NOT SURE ABOUT THE PLOT ALL I KNOW IS THAT I NEED JIMMYSEA IN DARKER ROLES!!!!!! my very first idea was sea as a boxer who is accused of murder and jimmy as his lawyer, but i thought that maybe it was too similar to the reporter/ceo one (as in, jimmy's characters help clearing sea's name). so my next idea was jimmy as the witness of a murder and sea as the rookie cop who finds himself having to protect him from getting killed. THEN i also went darker and thought about rival assassins sent to kill each other but oops they fall in love??? jimmy as an undercover cop who ends up question what's right and what's wrong as he slowly falls for crime boss sea????? ALL OF THESE????? IDK SOMEONE TELL ME IF ANY OF THESE SOUND GOOD.

I've noticed Woo interacting more with Yuta in recent content. However, I still think he is straight, so there is no "gives a chance" with such a view of mine. Didn't notice anything unusual or sus in the vlog as well (exept for 21:29 hand on neck).

Do is a natural chattermouth. Jungwoo seems to me to be less talkative. Woo feels the need to create content though, to talk about something. Like during an MV recording or a photoshoot he will comment the most (about nothing, really). SM finds non-idol jobs for their artists, Woo is trained as MC and a variety persona. Jaehyun doesn't bother with content. He serves looks, lol. He is aiming to be singer-songwriter and a moody actor.

there’s just smtg abt newjeans that really sticks with me ,, to me at least, they do feel like a quite honest representation of being a teenager … everything about them just feels so familiar ♡ and i just love their concept & styling sm !! i’m srsly so attached already … i love everything abt the songs <333 their music videos along with their portrayal just feel so right with me ,, it’s not portrayed in an overly perfect manner (doesn’t feel as if it’s stylized too much) like even the members’ styling too feels so relatable. for example, this is such a weird observation but i noticed how their hair wasn’t kept completely straight, rather it looked more free and you could even see the strands of hair poking out … like all the tiny imperfections made everything better for me ☹️ the styling and makeup are all quite minimalistic but it has such a strong impact !! and even the storylines in the hype boy mvs … i just love everything abt newjeans sm ♡

Jung Hoseok and the “More” MV: a lesson in head and neck radiology

sitting here waiting for my pager to go off so let’s fight off the Hoseok brainrot I’m currently experiencing with some learning.

If you’ve watched the “More” MV (srsly go watch it over and over and over again pls), there’s this absolutely sick part with the X-ray filter on Hoseok’s head and body. As someone who spends a lot of time look at head and neck radiography, what can these x-rays tell us about Hoseok and how perfect of a specimen he is? Let’s find out.

Starting with this image, which corresponds most closely to an posterior-anterior cephalometric radiograph. In simpler terms, it’s assessing the skull head-on, as though you’re staring Hoseok right in the eyes (the dream, right?). What can we learn here? Primarily, facial symmetry. And how much Hoseok has of it. The two sides perfectly mirror each other, with no asymmetry indicating the presence of a defect or pathology. In addition, we can see his temporomandibular joint is nice and seated properly, meaning that hopefully Hoseok doesn’t suffer from jaw pain or dislocation. Of course, that can be influenced by other factors, but the skull is looking good so far.

This next view has me screaming the most bc if he had turned his head a little more, it would be the perfect lateral cephalometric film. Lateral cephs look at the patient from the side, and can give us a better understanding of their skeletal and dental relationships. In this view too, you can see the jaw joint more clearly, where the top jaw articulates into the bottom jaw (red). The large empty cavities that look like air holes are the paranasal sinuses, which look free of any infection or pathology. You can even get a good view of Hoseok’s temporal bone right here (green). It’s hard to tell because he isn’t turned all the way to the side and there are no measurements, but I’d put him at a Skeletal Class I classification. This means his top jaw and bottom jaw are in harmony with each other. In terms of his dental relationship, I’d also say a Class I probably, but that might owe to the fact that he had braces. It’s important to remember that while skeletal and dental relationships often correlate, they do not always and therefore do not bias the measurements and classifications (but Hoseok can be your biaswrecker for sure.)

Zooming in now, let’s look at the teeth. We know Hoseok has the best teeth in Bangtan (bc I said so). We can really see how straight and well aligned they are here. This film is by no means accurate, but for a learning moment, the translucent looking parts of the teeth are the enamel. Enamel is made up of calcium and phosphate ions that form hydroxyapatite, a crystal structure. It is the hardest substance in the human body. Unfortunately, due to its crystallized structure, that means that enamel has no living cells in it. If you chip your enamel, it will not grow back, which is why you may need a filling or a crown. The darker stuff is known as dentin. Dentin is less crystallized and made of more organic matter than enamel. That makes it softer, but also able to regenerate due to the presence of living cells. When tooth decay penetrates into this layer, that’s when you need a filling because it’s a straight shot to the nerve of the tooth if the decay goes unchecked. Luckily, Hoseok’s teeth look a-okay!

Zooming in again to a different part of the film, now we’re in the orbit. The orbit is just the fancy term for the cavity that houses your eyeballs! Hoseok’s orbit looks clear and free of any fractures, which are nasty things to deal with if they happen. Fun fact, the shadowy portion near the inner corner of the eye is the lacrimal bone, which houses the tear ducts!

Lastly, let’s zoom out and look at this complete shot of the head and neck. Towards the neck part, you can see the cervical spine. All the spinal disks are articulating together properly, otherwise you’d see one slipping out of place. Sometimes discs can get trapped and nerves impinged upon, which is super duper painful would not recommend. This is my least favorite film because it’s the most inaccurate. In showing the spine, they’ve left out a few necessary anatomy details that cover the cervical spine from the front - the hyoid bone. The hyoid bone is the only free-floating bone in the human body, not connected to any other bone via joints. It plays an important part in speech, swallowing, and breathing, and is an important landmark on many x-rays of the head and neck. So this x-ray sucks. 4/10.

So, yeah. First of all, that really is the full name of the video on youtube. Now that we got that out of the way, let’s focus on the apeshit feral shitstorm we’ve just listened to :)

To give you some context as of what I’ve been doing these past two days, upon the first listen (by which i mean i made it through the first verse and stopped because i couldn’t breathe), I was convinced this was a fake. It’s just another Nikki Tučková. This can’t be real. This CAN’T be serious, like, come on, that’s too much even for the Czech pop scene. So it was time to start digging around.

I googled Mr. Petr and the only kinda relevant-looking thing that popped up was this website. Now, bear in mind that this song came out 4 days ago, i was made aware of it 3 days ago, and since then the face of the Internet has changed drastically. So I’m staring at this dancer dude with a terrible english website, contemplating whether or not I should message this poor dude and offer my translation knowledge because it hurts my soul. But as I read through it, i was like... nah, that can’t be him. Although.... *violent flashback to the video, realizing he actually DOES dance really well*

So I continue digging and find exactly nothing. Then I finally decided to open the info card under the video and, voila, there’s a website! And WHAT THE FUCKING SHIT yes, it’s THE Michael Petr from StarDance. Also, just between us, he also has a rock project which sounds very suspiciously close to Trent’s Mystic Spiral from Daria.

So at that point I find an idnes article and I just know this whole thing is, indeed, meant very seriously and I turn into this very sad entity craving a hotdog.

Anyways! Time for the actual music breakdown!

1) It has a very generig Czech pop feel. There’s fucking nothing in that instrumental to make it memorable in any way. I tried to dig for something, i really tried, i found nothing, i was sad.

2) The whole lyrics don’t have one. single. rhyme. in it. I don’t know how on earth he did it, but this is like some wild dadaism shit. Phrasing doesn’t exist either.

3) On that note, there is NOT A SINGLE ROHLÍK IN THE VIDEO. But I’ll talk about 2) and 3) into more depth later.

4) The second I heard “ňamňamňamňamňam” my soul transcended into another realm

5) Dare I say it? I dare to say it. Michael neumí zpívat. Don’t get me wrong, he can maintain a tone, that’s nice. His voice is quite smooth and has a nice colour as well. Not interesting, but nice. But holy shit there’s exactly zero technique. Which might still not be a problem if there was at least some confidence/feel in it. Which is not. Therefore, Michael, in my eyes, can’t fucking sing and I’ll have this engraved on my gravestone out of spite if anyone tries to convince me otherwise. To elaborate a little, I didn’t listen just to this, I tortured myself by listening to all three of his so far released songs and it’s just not working. He sounds incredibly scared and not confidend while singing, which, considering his ego, is really interesting to me, you can clearly hear this dude hasn’t stood on stage singing EVER and he’s absolutely weirded out by the studio he’s recording at. And don’t even get me started on that harmonizing at the end... Holy shit. 

6) ON THIS NOTE! I shit you not, there’s an English version!

And believe it or not, it gives us a beautiful overview of everything that goes wrong in both the versions because, believe it or not, they differ A LOT.

I’m still a little puzzled about which of the versions happened first. He states in the idnes interview that the album is Czech-English, but one version clearly had to be first. I would guess the English version came out first because it actually RHYMES, but then again when you look at the Czech lyrics, they are not a translation. So what exactly happened there??? My guess is that the two versions were made in two different studios. I’d say the English version was done in America and the producer made Michael re-write the lyrics so that they rhyme, otherwise they wouldn’t want to have anything to do with such a shitty project. Yeah, the lyrics still suck but like... *sigh* listen, i don’t want to bash anyone for their knowledge of a foreign language. He clearly tried and I appreciate that, I’m just baffled by his confidence in his English abilities is all :’) But you can probably hear the English version differs even in the instrumental itself, it really adheres to the norms of American/Western notion of generic pop. You can also hear that the producer clearly FORBID Michael from doing the atrocious harmonizing, which I would love to publicly thank them for. The Czech version was obviously produced here, it has a more Czech feel to it and adheres to our norms instead. And the harmonizing is there. Now, I’m talking about the “ROHLÍK, DÁM SI JEDEN ROHLÍK” screamo situation which... is just all over the place, to put it kindly. I don’t know what the producer was thinking, but I can imagine that after dealing with Michael for some time, they just went “fuck it” and kept it in. Now, when we move to the last chorus, which has a gradual harmonizing added to it, I dare to guess it’s autotuned. Only slightly, but it is. Basically, it sounds way too flat (i mean his voice is overall real flat but the voices just “click” into each other way too well) and we know he tries to sing the harmonizing voices separately in the English version and it doesn’t go very well, does it. Last little note: Why is the English version on a different channel? I am confusion.

On the other hand, we can see that this whole project is a great example of over-production. The production value is huge. It’s well mixed (well, for what it is), the MV is a great quality, although a little stupid. But srsly, the dancemoves are 500% better than anything Aquababes’ve ever done, so at least that was nice. Also, 10/10 would DIE for Ms. Hotdog Lady, she’s having the time of her life and I’m here for that!

To give some more context, when I watched it 3 days ago, one day after its release, it had about 4k views, about 20 likes and about 400 dislikes. The comments were disabled. The English version had significantly less views, but the like/dislike ratio was similar, only the comments were enabled and, well... Let’s just say they aren’t anymore and for a very good reason. The numbers right now are about 26k views on Rohlíky and about 4k on Hot Dogs. The numbers of likes and dislikes are hidden with both of them. “Cesta”, the rock-ish song-ish thing, has about 800 views and everything is disabled as well. 

EDIT: Literally 10 seconds after posting this, the English version was deleted and uploaded on the same channel as Rohlíky. And guess what, you can still comment on it B^)
