     ༝ march 16, 2011
moving his stuff into boxes shouldn’t sting as much as it does.
old t-shirts, framed pictures, small gifts exchanged for anniversaries . . . a stupid necklace that took weeks for you to take off after you initiated the no-contact.
it all goes into cardboard boxes, taped shut and shoved into the farthest corner of your apartment waiting to be picked up. you leave a text to the now unsaved number saying everything was packed, and sit on your couch anxiously waiting for a reply.
the ding of your phone makes you jump, realizing your apartment was much quieter than you thought. you pull your lip between your teeth, unsure if it’s worth it to actually check it. it’s been over a month, your previous message ingrained in your memory.
please don’t message me again.         read 2/10/11
you hold your breath and quickly flip your phone face-up. like ripping off a band-aid, you remind yourself, though your eyes are screwed shut. it’s not like the message would even be marked as read through your homescreen, but the anxiety coursing through your veins is relentless.
forcing yourself to exhale, you tap the screen twice to wake it up, and read the message as quickly as your eyes allow. it’s easy, given all it reads is an “Okay.” followed by a thumbs up.
that itself leaves you with a pit in your stomach, bunching your shirt in your fists and taking a minute to just sit and breath. nothing bad would come out of this, right? no arguments, no reviving the flame, nothing that shouldn’t be allowed. he’ll grab the boxes, pile them some way onto his bike, and leave without a word.
you’re trying to convince yourself baji could have changed, in some way, in the last month. that he’d finally learned when to shut his big mouth and keep it that way.
a small part of you nags yourself. it’s a stupid thing to think. baji hasn’t changed. won’t. not for you, not for anyone else. but that part of you still hopes, prays that maybe he has.
the knock that follows a few hours later startles you, well aware he was coming at some point, but not when. you wipe your hands on your sweats, pausing your prep for dinner to go unlock the door. you close your eyes for a second, take in a small breath and exhale. like ripping off a band-aid. you twist the knob and pull the door open.
a mop of black hair fills your vision, and the sight of him leaves your chest twisting with an ache. you stare at each other for a second, before you’re taking a step back wordlessly, suddenly very awkward in your own home.
he comes in and looks around, eyes scanning over the little changes he can notice - the framed pictures you guys took are missing from your walls and it makes the room look so much emptier. they snap to you when you reach to anxiously play with the necklace he gave, very aware of any movement your figure seems to make, and a ghost of a frown falls onto his lips when your fingers find nothing to grab. you try to play it off as scratching at your chest, but he knows just as well as you do.
he’s always been good at reading you.
you clear your throat, nodding to the corner where three boxes sit neatly stacked together, “everything’s over there.”
your own voice sounds foreign to you. so soft, quiet, as if you breaking the silence would be the end of anything and everything you’ve been building back up since things ended.
he’s almost surprised, seeing that he left so much behind when he thought he’d packed everything he had. part of him supposes it’s other miscellaneous things the two of you have gathered over the years, and he’s glad chifuyu at the very least let him bring the van from the pet shop so he wouldn’t have to make multiple trips back on his bike.
he grabs two of the boxes, stacking them on top of one another, and looks to the third, then to you, as a silent request for assistance. you pull your lip between your teeth, ultimately deciding the quicker they’re out of your apartment, the quicker he will be, too. the quicker you can go back to trying to forget about him.
with one box in hand, you pull open the door and shut it behind you while he leads the way down your apartment’s steps and out to the parking lot. he opens the vans door by himself, pushing the boxes into the floorboard, then takes the one in your hands. his fingers brush against yours when he does it, and the action has you pulling your hand back faster than intended, leaving him to readjust his grip quickly or risk the box falling completely out of his grasp.
the look he sends you has you shrinking in on yourself, despite there being no hostility in it. just disappointment, followed by sadness from the way his lip turns down. he shoves that box on top of the other two, and turns to face you.
“listen,-” he starts, but you're quick to stop whatever rabbit hole he plans to go down.
“don’t. please don’t.”
“you don’t even know what i'm gonna say.”
“i don’t need to.” your arms curl in around yourself, not looking at him. like you’re trying to make yourself smaller. trying to disappear on him. he frowns at the thought.
“don’t do that.” he says quietly, nails digging into the palm of his hand.
you shouldn’t ask. you know how it’ll end, but you can’t help but want some form of interaction with him for the last time, even if it means it ends with you far more hurt than before. “do what?”
“act like you don’t give a fuck, or like you don’t want to try and fix this or like you don’t-” he stops when you push him back by his shoulders, shaking your head, and despite it barely moving him, it has his teeth clenching and eyes narrowing. he grabs your wrists when you go in for a second shove, ignoring the way you try to pull yourself away.
“i’m not the one who didn’t give a fuck, keisuke,” you snap, lip quivering, “and i’m not the one who didn’t try to fix everything. don’t you dare put this on me when it was you who made it so clear how much i meant to you.”
the reply is enough to leave his grip wavering, and you take the opportunity to pull yourself from his grasp, cradling your arms to yourself as if you’re afraid he’ll go for a second grab.
he opens his mouth to say something, anything, but he can’t seem to find the proper words to mend this, and that itself is enough to leave you turning on your heel, ignoring the way calls you to come back, ignoring the way him saying your name makes your chest ache, and when you stumble back into your apartment with tears welling in your eyes, you’re left with that sick bitter reminder.
baji hasn’t changed. won’t. not for you, not for anyone else.
      ༝ december 23, 2010
you check the time for the fifth time of the night, tapping your foot anxiously as if that could somehow make him appear in front of you.
by some miracle, it seems to work, the lock to your shared apartment turning. it’s followed by the door pushing open, and your disheveled boyfriend stumbling in, clumsily closing it behind him while he kicks off his shoes.
two hours. that’s what you’d waited for him to show up. two hours, and he comes in drunk, with the smell of alcohol wafting off of him in waves.
“hey baby,” he grins when he sees you, coming towards the couch to give you a kiss, but frowning when you stand and step away from him, “s’wrong?”
“you are unbelievable,” you can’t help but scoff, and he has the audacity to look surprised.
“what’re you talkin’ about?” he moves to pull you towards him, but you’re all too aware of this, taking a step away to keep your distance.
“our anniversary!” it’s then baji takes in the way you're dressed- hair done neatly, your favorite going-out attire hugging your figure nicely, with the necklace he gave you last year sitting pretty around your neck.
by the time he’s fully processed it, you’re moving past him to your shared bedroom.
“whatever, fucking forget it.” you’re undoing all your work while walking down the hall, already in the process of discarding all your clothes in favor of pajamas when he stumbles behind you into the room.
“hang on a sec,” he hiccups, “we can still go out, s’not too late.” he’s pulling the shirt you’re trying to change into out of your hands and trying to give you back the one you’d previously had, but you pull the former back with a glare.
“i waited two hours, keisuke! i texted you all day about it, i left reminders on the fridge, and at the pet shop! and you’re already too drunk to go do anything.” you add the last part with a whisper, bitter taste coming up from your stomach and settling in your mouth, “there’s no point.”
three years. three years you’d been with him, and still the importance of one fucking day is lost on him.
“‘m sorry baby,” he frowns, reaching for you. the frown grows when you pull away, tugging on shorts, “‘fuyu and i jus’ had a good day in sales today, kazutora said we should drink to celebrate and i lost track of time.”
more like forgot altogether.
“whatever.” you say dismissively, dejected, and part of you wishes you’d gone out with hina like she invited you to. at least then, you’d be drunk too and could laugh it off.
“really am sorry.” he’s reaching for you again, and you can’t find it in yourself to pull away, “make it up to you tomorrow.”
he presses a kiss to your forehead, then pulls you towards the bed, discarding his own clothes until he’s in just his boxers, and clambers under the blankets, patting the spot beside him. you follow without complaint, and he’s out cold in less than ten minutes.
you find yourself unable to sleep like that, gently shimmying out from the covers and grabbing the blanket on the back of the couch before deciding to settle there for the night. left alone with your thoughts swarming, your sadness soon being replaced by anger. you fall asleep there with fire on your tongue.
when baji wakes up, he has a killer headache. you aren’t beside him, he notes dully, and one glance to the alarm clock by the bed tells him it should be too early for you to be awake.
the smell of coffee hits his nose, and he finds himself pulling on sweatpants and following the smell. you’re in the kitchen, blanket usually on the couch draped around your shoulders, and you don’t acknowledge him while you sip on your cup.
he’s grabbing some tylenol from the cabinet when you finally open your mouth.
“have fun last night?”
he doesn’t miss the way the words fall bitterly from your lips, or the way your fingers absentmindedly grip your mug a little tighter.
“we’ll go out today,” he says instead of answering, “just need to shower and-” he’s cut off by you slamming the cup down, surprised it doesn’t shatter in your grasp from the force.
“i don’t want to go out today, keisuke. today isn’t our anniversary.”
his lips twitch to a scowl. no way you’re still bitter, right?
“well yesterday is already over. so you have today or next year.”
he doesn’t miss the way you scoff, or the way your hands clench the blanket around your shoulders.
“what was so important?” you find yourself asking, unable to look at him.
“the hell are you talking about?” he chugs a glass of water with the pills he previously grabbed.
“what could’ve been so important you get shitfaced two hours after your shift knowing we had plans?” you clarify, and his jaw clenches at what you could be implicating. his head just seems to throb more, and the thought of an argument does not help.
“i told you last night, we had good sales and the boys wanted to celebrate-”
“we had these plans for three weeks,” you ration desperately, “three!.” you hold up that number of fingers as if it will help emphasize, and baji shoves your hand from his face with his brow twitching.
“stop talking to me like i’m an idiot.” and the fact that he’s derailing the issue to that makes you angrier.
“it’s like you don’t even care,” you scoff, retreating from the kitchen and to the living room. he notes the displacement of some pillows as he follows you, how the cushions aren’t exactly how they should be.
“you sleep out here last night?”
“does it matter?” you sit on the couch, exhausted from the conversation and from being treated so poorly, but the idea of mentioning it brings more pain than you’d like to think about.
“yes,” he sits beside you and wraps an arm around your shoulders, pulling you towards him with little resistance. he presses a kiss to your hair, whispering apology after apology, “‘m sorry for being such a shitty boyfriend,” he starts, “and ‘m sorry for not taking things as seriously as i should. i’ll be better, i promise.”
you’re fine with that, you think. despite knowing his promises are empty, you’re fine with thinking right now they aren’t. if it means the tension will leave your body, you’ll believe anything he’d say.
      ༝ july 07, 2009
the air is warm around you, humid, when baji picks you up from your apartment for your date.
he grins when he sees you come down the steps, two at a time to throw yourself into his arms, and almost loses his balance if not for him leaning against his bike for support.
“you look cute,” his grin widens when you flush, pinching his cheek with a smile, “miss me?”
“always.” you hum, standing on your toes to press a kiss to his lips. he accepts it greedily, hands finding your waist to pull you closer to him and keep you there, but you’re pulling away before he can get too carried away.
“we’re gonna be late for the movie,” you laugh, offering him a quick peck when he pouts.
“just the previews,” he argues, chasing you when you pull away from him, “maybe the opening credits too,” his lips press against yours, “and the beginning scenes.” another kiss.
“no way,” you break away from the curse he has on you with a smile, “i’ve been wanting to see this since i read the book.” just one more kiss, then you’re pushing him to climb onto the bike, following behind him once he’s settled.
in hindsight, you could’ve skipped the movie altogether. the book was far better, and they didn’t even film your favorite part! but you’re happy you still decided to come out with baji, elated to spend whatever time you can with him.
though things haven’t been super busy at his shop, chifuyu has been running him ragged to get things in top shape, and most of your own time has been taken by exams and work. it’s a nice break, when you’re with him, and the comfort he brings you spreads warmth from your chest and into the deepest parts of your bones.
darkness came a while ago, but neither of you can find it in yourself to care when in the deepest parts of roppongi. the cool night air nips at your skin while on baji’s bike, and you find yourself tucking your hands under his shirt in an effort to keep warm while he drives aimlessly through the streets.
soon you find yourselves on a bridge, and baji stops at the very top and helps you off of the bike when your legs are too shaky with adrenaline to step off on your own.  you giggle when he pulls you towards the railing, pushing your back into the cool bars with him standing in front of you.
“got you somethin’.” he leans down, lips ghosting over your own.
“oh yeah?” you hum, standing on your toes to meet him halfway, but missing when he pulls back. he grins at the way you pout, arms wrapping around his shoulders as if it would help keep him in place.
“yeah.” he confirms, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small box. you eye him, then the box warily, before he’s gesturing for you to take it.
you do so gently, nimble fingers opening the box and gasping when you see the pretty necklace inside. a silver chain, with a small B at the center.
“for me?” you can’t help but tease, and baji’s smile widens when he sees you like it.
“only you,” he kisses your forehead and plucks the box from your grasp, in the process of removing the necklace from it when you open your mouth to complain, “let me put it on ya.”
you turn, holding your hair out of the way so he can easily clasp it, and he presses a kiss at the nape of your neck once he’s done. it falls nicely at the center of your chest, and baji spins you around with either hand on your shoulders to fully take it in.
“pretty.”
you wrap your arms around his torso to pull him closer to you, kissing his nose, “thank you.”
and the night is settled in each other’s embrace, coming back to your apartment much later than either of you could have anticipated.
      ༝ april 19, 2008
you’re almost certain you’re at the wrong place.
the address should be correct, based on what you looked up on google, but the noise from inside the garage has you hesitating from continuing forward.
with a bit of hyping yourself up, you're stepping past the door and into the garage. inside are three boys, making much more noise than you expected them to be. not one of them notices you as their argument grows heated.
“-just saying that if she wanted to be with you, she would’ve made a move by now!” argues one with long dark hair, narrowly dodging a wrench that gets thrown his way.
“and i’m saying she’s shy!” the wrench thrower argues, notably oldest of the three and brushing his shorter black hair out of his face, “it’s been a month! i’m just giving it time to work itself out.”
“more like losing it altogether,” smallest of the three, the blond hums out, “you’ve never been good with romance shinichiro.”
‘shinichiro’ visibly deflates, “would it kill you to support me for once mikey?”
“mikey’s just a realist,” the long-haired boy grins, all teeth, “and what kind of friendship would this be if it was built on lies?”
“a happy one.” shinichiro grumbles, turning to grab something and finally taking you in. “oh . . . um, hi, can i help you?”
“hi,” you breath out, very aware of the three pairs of eyes now on you, “i um . . . i’m looking for a baji? baji keisuke?”
two sets of eyes move from you to the boy with long hair, and his own eyes widen for a second before that toothy grin returns.
“s’me, what can i help you with?”
“left your bag in class,” you offer it when he walks towards you, “i didn’t want it to get stolen or anything. . .” you look away from him, and his head tilts slightly, before he snaps and points at you.
“you’re in my english class! thought i recognized you.” he opens the bag, digging through it for a second, then pauses, “how’d you know to come here?”
you flush, bowing your head, “i went through the bag to see if your wallet was it in it -” then straighten yourself, “-for your address! but there was like a bajillion cards for this place in the bottom of the bag and honestly you should probably clean it out because it’s very messy-” you’re talking far quicker than necessary, anxiety increasing when he just smiles at you.
“you’re cute.”
you feel your face heat further, turning away from him, “t-that’s all i came for! see you in class!” before you’re walking out of the garage all too quickly and cursing yourself when you’re about a block down the street at how fucking awkward you are.
“see shinichiro, that’s how you flirt with someone.”
mikey does not dodge the wrench thrown his way, whining about how mean his big brother is and how he can’t be mean and not know how to flirt, while baji smiles dumbly at the number left on his english notebook.

Monkey King: Hero is Back Au/Sequel details:
Old post of ideas and theories - made before I experienced the game.
May name the au and/or fic "Hero Rebound" as a ref to the ship nam eof Dasheng and his LEM.
Mixing some elements found in the video game as the added lore is cool af but a bit messy. Also the old man that raised Liuer deserves recognition.
Putting characters under Read More:
Major Characters:
Dasheng/Sun Wukong/"The Great Sage Equal to Heaven":
Tumblr media
Going by the prequel concept poster; Was born/hatched looking like a coconut macaroon.
Secretly a herbalism/medical nerd. In the games he keeps a little guide of the medicinal plants and materials he finds.
Babysat a lot on Huaguo. In the english dub he even seems to default to asking if Liuer needs a babysitter.
Instincts take over a lot. Will pull the kids towards him and groom fur thats not even there.
Is tramatized by his experience in the Trigram Furnace.
Desperately wishes to find Erlang Shen so he can kick his ass.
Tries to play it cool; but Liuer's death actually tramatized him. He fears losing him again.
Don't touch Liuer or Silly Girl. Those are his babies now. He will kill you.
Zhanshi/Six Earred Macaque/Liu er Mihou/"Great Sage Informing Wind":
Tumblr media
An oc/JTTW character variation; Was a member of the Brotherhood of Sages during her and Dasheng's youth. The LMK OC Picrew was used to create a rough image of her.
Sweetest ray of bustling sunshine compared to her gloomier mate. Will still kill any being that dares touch one of her subjects.
Severely injured during the Burning on Mount Huaguo - permanetly damaging her right eye and ears. Dasheng had assumed she'd died during the battle after he was tossed into the Furnace.
Honorary grandma to the little monkeys of Mount Huaguo. Helped raise many of them after the Burning while their parents foraged and worked the land.
Finds a weird Stone Egg that crashed down after the solar eclipse. Now everyone seems to want the dang thing. Realised what the egg truly was when she heard the flutters of a heartbeat from within.
First time Liuer accidentally called her "Mama", Zhanshi cried for two hours.
Pls do not touch the baby monkeys. She will bite. And crush.
Jiang Liuer/"Tripitaka"/Current Incarnation of Golden Cicada:
Tumblr media
Died during the battle with Hundun - but Dasheng basically smashed down the doors of the Celestial Realm and begged the gods/bodhisattvas to bring his biy back.
Is bedbound and near comatose for 49 days as his body and soul heals.
Dasheng sacrificed his powers, freedom, and some of his dao/life energy for Liuer's revival. Liuer may or may not be part-stone monkey now.
Liuer doesn't know what happened to his parents. He assumed he was abandoned. His time in Diyu-Limbo clears this assumption up - learning that his parents died protecting him from mountain trolls/yao that wanted him for his delicious holy soul.
Can be a feral little guy at times. He was raised by a hermit after all.
Calls Fa Ming "granddad" in the english dub, so it's possible he just assumes Fa Ming is his granddad.
Is desperate for a mother figure.
Sha Ya Tou/"Silly Girl"/"A-nan":
Tumblr media
A very cheerful baby despite her situation.
Is not 100% human.
Hundun specifically needed her for the ritual.
First word ends up being "Bima!" (horse) after someone mentioned "Bimawen".
Zhu Bajie/"Uncle Pigsy"/Marshal Canopy:
Tumblr media
Lies that he's the reincarnated Pagoda King to scare demons. And because nobody outside of Heaven knows who Marshal Canopy is.
Gets real quiet when people bring up the story of Chang'e for some reason...
Amazing uncle figure. Notices that Liuer is sad during the movie's song sequence and uses his transformation ability to let the little guy experience flying.
Most of the time on the road he lets the kids use his stomach as a pillow.
Sha Wujing/"Sandy":
Tumblr media
Another oc/JTTW character variation since no Sandy-equivalent appears in Hero is Back. Also made in the LMK OC Picrew.
She/they
Dresses very masculine but loves accessorising with flowers, shells, bones, pretty rock etcs.
Zhu Bajie shot her a wink and Sha Wujing had to politely explain that she wasn't interested in men in general. The two then bonded over their shared love for women.
Encounters the Seven Spider Sisters and... ohhh mama.
Sifu Fa Ming/"Grandpa":
Tumblr media
Just some really cool old human dude.
Has a Diogenes-esque view of life, and does not care for monks and religious officials living in luxury. Self-exiled himself from his Vihara so that he could persue a simpler life.
Raised the baby he found (named "Little River Float/Jiang Liuer" cus thats what the baby was) with whatever he could find. Pretty much all alms he gained were used for food and clothes for his adopted grandchild. And from what the opening credits show, Fa Ming travelled with Liuer on his back through rain, snow, and shine.
Considers finding Liuer a blessing from the Buddha. Something he's somewhat correct on.
Was the first one to introduce Liuer to the legend of the Monkey King - as a cautionary tale to not be covetous. He did not anticipate Liuer thinking the monkey demon was the coolest person in all of Buddhist mythos. Fa Ming sighs, maybe that doll of his influenced that too.
His english va is James Hong, aka Mr Ping from Kung Fu Panda and he gives the best english performance imo. James Hong just be playing ancient chinese men who find and adopt a random baby they find.
Canglong/"The Dragon":
Tumblr media
Isn't Ao Lie/Bai Longma... but is one of his dads. Canglong and Ao Run are a thing. Ganglong was once a regular rain dragon who saw that the newly-appointed King Ao Run of the "Western Sea" (in the mythos the older three called dibs on the actual seas around China) trying to build a canal from the Yellow River. Canglong called down a great rain to help make the in-land sea/lake that would become Qinghai Lake. The two dragon bonded over their effort and well... dragon pups occured.
I hc that the Western Sea kingdom is a lot more chill than it's empire-like brothers, so these guys are flying and swimming freely all around the place.
In the film the dragon and Dasheng just sorta team-up off screen. In the game they have Guanyin bring the boys straight to the Western Sea Palace (in the sky) to ask for a dragon assist. Canglong fought Hundun and the other three Perils before alongside "Shunwang" - a human with a sword. "Shunwang" is likely a reference to Emperor Shun of the "Three Soverigns and Five Emperors"-era of Chinese mythos (same era as Nuwa, Fuxi, and Shennong) and predecesor of Yu the Great; who ultimately tamed the waters with Ruyi Jingu Bang (Sun Wukong's future staff). Emperor Shun in mythos beat the stuffing out of the Four Perils - though not the same ones that include Hundun - rather Gonggong who broke the Heavenly Pillar.
Adding on to the lore from the HiB game: Canglong teamed up with humanity during the Great Flood to help curb the flood waters. Here he met Shunwang, who's goal was to kill the Four Perils and God that helped cause the Flood. Canglong thought that was cool af and got all the dragons involved to help. The Four Perils are sadly all concepts and you really can't 100% kill them, so they all ended up sealed away instead. By the time of Dasheng's release; Hundun (blind chaos) got out. Canglong was in the same area as the gang looking for Hundun to apprehend him - when Sun Wukong ran up to him with info on what Hundun had planned, Canglong agreed to help no questions asked.
As in game canon: Helps the gang return the stolen children. I hc through amazing sense of smell. Canglong doesn't hang around for long though, as Ao Run immediately flies over, worried out of his mind for his injured mate, and brings him home. Canglong and Ao Run do however have a cheeky white-scaled dragon pup that likes to pretend to be horse and is obsessed with the legendary Bimawen...
Hundun and the Great Perils:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A squad of four primordial concepts set loose when the destructive water god Gonggong destroyed the Heavenly Pillar. Their goal? Take out the newly-formed humanity.
Among them was (as taken from Chinese mythos):
‣Qiongqi/窮奇/"poor and strange": Deviousness. Said to devour the innocent/noble people, and serve evil ones. Said to either possess the body of a flying tiger or a carnivorous ox. Killed at the hands of Emperor Shun.
‣Taotie/餮/"greedy glutton": Gluttony. Said to have the head of a ding/bronze vessel that consumes all. Has the body of an ungulate, and the voice of a baby. Some believe it to be the reincarnated form of Chi You - the decapitated enemy of the Yellow Emperor.
‣ Taowu/檮杌/"stupid stump": Ignorance. Personifies the stubborness of man, and the refusal to learn. Resembles a sabre-toothed tiger.
‣ Hundun/混沌/"chaotic torrent: Chaos. Like chaos it's true form is blind and directionless. Mythology says that attempts were made to give it holes in which to see, breath, and eat, but it immediately died and reincarnated into "an evil creature".
Nuwa, alongside Shunwang and the dragons, and a bunch of other allies, kicked the Perils butts but couldn't 100% kill them. The compromise was exile/sealing them away indefinitely. Hundun in his original form was attemtped to be rehabitilated, but upon gaining sight and the ability to breathe - died and reincarnated into the human-reptilian avatar we see in the film.
"Hundun" is an extenstion of primordial chaos itself - a thing that isn't inherently evil and was born alongside Pangu when the World Egg hatched. The demon king however, has merely a chunk of the power held by his original life.
Hundun in his current form may have died... but the soul within has move on into something else. Child-like chaos cannot be contained.

Wukong after reaching the nirvana, after his 15 years of journey (Idk if it's 15 years the journey has lasted) did he still eat humans after that time? I've heard in buddhism the human life is not woth at all, it's like an atom, correct me if this is wrong and thanks for your time of answering
(14 years) and no Wukong did not eat humans afterward as that would go against his vows to not eat meat and to value all life. I don’t know who told you that human life is worth nothing in Buddism but human life is to be considered one of the highest levels to be and should be valued as sacred to be able for anyone to reach enlightenment… I think you might be confusing the idea that letting go of personal material and personal desires like greed, want, and selfishness is the same as letting go of your own personality or morals?? Which is not the case. They accept that they are going to but they do not want to die and they accept that all life is priceless which does not mean no life is less worthy. It is even said to be careful when you sweep so that ants are not harmed… Buddism being about letting go of worldly desires and while there is a lot about self-sacrificing and selfishness involved it is out of a place of compassion and love for your fellow man.
As a Buddha, Wukong is supposed to have a sense of lack of self, be able to separate the idea of self from his physical form, and become one with the universe all that jazz but that doesn't mean that life is... an atom? Self-sacrifice in this case means giving up his worldly desires, in order to reach that level of enlightenment. It’s more about not letting worldly desires weigh you down, knowing that just being yourself is enough and you don’t need to desire things that are “better” in order to find fulfillment in your life. All the happiness that you can find in the world is inside you in about accepting yourself rather than, looking for acceptance in the world. The reason why they push for having no desires is more so that you don’t need those desires, like money or fame or glory in order to feel more like a person. You have, and will always will be enough and that’s all that you’ve ever needed. Of course, it’s also important to connect to others that they are also enough how they are, and by showing them through compassion.
Actually just to think that Buddhism encourages devaluing life to the point of suicide or murder… that is very inaccurate to the point of insulting. I am not sure where you got this information but I implore you to do more research as that is… disgusting to think an entire religion is boiled down to such a thing…
And also while Wukong has said he has killed and eaten humans if it is often seen as more of him saying that hypothetically as his power of reviving people only happens with a pure qi. In the book Sanzang asks for Wukong to bring back the dead king in the well because both Bajie and Wujing ate people and their powers are tainted from while Wukong is pure, suggesting that he has never eaten a sentient being.
Has Sun Wukong really eaten people? Look at what he said to the Jade Emperor with clairvoyance when he was just born

Tokyo revengers: supposed to protect
✩ Whatever she wanted, Baji did. Burning cars, winning prizes, dating her, so was it his fate or his fault again, that he couldn't protect what was precious to him?

Mikey wasn't sure whether he was really lucky or really unfortunate, for both of his sisters to fall for his closest and most trusted friends.
First Emma, who fell for Draken and then Ray, who fell for Baji. Now all that's left is Shinichiro reviving himself and marrying Takemichi.
Mikey didn't bat an eye when he found out about Emma and Draken, Afterfall, Draken world take care of her, but Ray and Baji?
"Please let me date Ray, I promise to protect her!" Baji bowed sincerely, praying Mikey wouldn't be against it. He was already on eggshells after what happened to Shinichiro and excluded from Toman meetings, but would Mikey really stop him from asking out his younger sister because of that? If Mikey deemed him unsuitable for her, Baji wouldn't blame him but what could he possibly do then?
"Do you love her?" Mikey asked bluntly, still chewing on his sweets and completely leaned back while he looked around the place they usually held their Toman meetings at. Baji quickly straightened up and answered confidently as he looked up at Mikey. "Yeah, a lot."
Mikey stood up from the stairs, walking up to his childhood friend, who in return looked tense. Was he going to hit him?
"Then I'll leave her in your care." Mikey's smile suddenly softened, finishing his sweets. "Ray would never forgive me if I stopped you anyway."
Two peas in a pod...
"Oh my god, Oh my god, I actually did it!! I actually put the car on fire!!" Ray giggled, looking at the fire spreading in the car.
Baji quickly ran over to her, looking annoyed as he snatched the lighter out of her hand and pulled her further away from the car. "For fucks sake, I told you not to do it without me!" He scolded her, going through his hair. "What if something went wrong?"
Ray giggled, teasing him. "Oh?~ Did I take away your fun?~" she didn't take him serious in the slightest which only annoyed Baji even further. Did he look like a joke to her?
Suddenly, before the trend forks argue further, the car exploded right beside them, making the two teens trip to the ground from shock. Baji shielded Ray while she looked over his shoulder in awe and excitement, "OMG, did you see that Keisuke?? That looked sooo cool! That's what he gets for cussing us out!!"
Baji groaned, knowing full well that the old man whose car they burned would come running out and second now, but still felt a little relief from seeing her so happy even if it was short lived.
"Hey, over there, don't you dare move!!!" The owner of the car suddenly ran towards them from afar.
Baji quickly pulled himself up, before hectically pulling Ray along.
"If you had let me burn the car, we could actually enjoy this right now and not be running!" He yelled.
Ray held her boyfriend's hand as she did her best keeping up, all while laughing her heart out, "It's too late now, let's just run!"
Just looking at her right now, sweating and laughing as she ran, the young man quickly forgot why he was angry in the first place.
"Let's go to the summer festival!" Ray demanded of her boyfriend, standing in front of him with a poster of said festival. 'End the year with a bang' it read, along with a sappy couple kissing like it's their happy end.
"Sounds boring." Baji continued reading his manga, not even bothering to look up his as usual very loud girlfriend.
"Not true! Emma and Draken as well as Takemitchy and Hina are going!" She argued. Ray had already planned all the small stands she wanted to go to up to the point of where she wanted to see the fireworks from. "It'll be real romantic!" She spoke with sparkling eyes, just thinking about standing in front of fireworks and kissing.
"Didn't we go last year already?" Baji groaned as his Manga fell from his hand because Ray jumped on his back, protesting by jumping up and down like a brat. Baji sighed and looked over his shoulder at her. "I'm not going Ray, I kept loosing you in the crowd last year because you didn't listen to me," Baji remembered how he lost her and ended up watching the fireworks all romantically with one of the food stall owners, instead of her, "in fact you never listen to me."
And the chery on top was that on the way back on his bike, Ray held tears back because she completely missed the show all because she got caught up with a stray cat.
"I'll listen this time..." she looked at him quietly for once while giving him unintentional puppy eyes. "I promise." Baji haltet his movements. She did love fireworks a lot, didn't she? Always quietly dreaming about romantic situations.
He rubbed his head roughly, before letting it hang off the bed loosely. "Alright, whatever." he groaned feeling defeated.
Ray squeaked happily and hugged him tightly, "I love you, Kei! I'll quickly tell Emma and Hina!" She jumped down and picked up her phone before finally sitting beside Baji on the bed, all while he stared at her be happy. She was unbelievably simple.
Staring at her, all giddy over a few word Baji couldn't help himself and whisper a short, "I love you," and watching at her stare at him in suprise. A blush crept up her cheeks before she looked down, fumbling with her phone. "I... I love you too." She whispered. Baji chuckled and stood up, ruffling her hair before passing by her. "Always so shy, seriously, when will you open up?"
Watching him walk out the room, Ray promised herself that the day of the festival would definitely be their first kiss.
...destined for hardship
"Keisuke look, it looks just like you!!" Ray pointed to a big black cat that looked angry.
"You picking a fight?" He asked, feeling provoked while looking at that hideous stuffed cat. It had very long whiskers and ugly drawn sharp fangs and slit eyes. Is this how she saw him? Talk about a reality check.
Ray eagerly pulled his arm, looking up at him, "please win that for me, Keisuke!"
It was a simple game of throwing balls at heavy cups, there's no way Keisuke would lose, except that the cat was ugly and he didn't want to see that thing ever again.
"What about another stuffed animal? One that doesn't look hunted?" He commented, making her about to revolt for a moment, but Baji's eyes quickly landet on a stuffed animal on one of the stands, which he quickly pointed out. "What about that one?" He asked and the second Ray saw it, she knew he chose it because it looked similar to Peke J.
Ray looked up to see a small cat plushy along with her boyfriend who was ready to fight to the death for it. Smiling at his resolve, she nodded. "It does look cute, I guess."
"You guess?! Don't say that about Peke J!"
Ray giggled and cheered, watching Baji lose both his money and his cool. She didn't even try stopping him after the third loss, knowing he'll get the cat even if it means beating either the game or the shop owner himself. "Y'know you look handsome right now, right?" Ray smiled, watching Baji grip the sandballs even harder before throwing and finally getting all the cups down. The stall owner got the cat down and Baji turned to Ray with a grin plastered on his face. "Don't I look even more handsome now?"
Ray reddened slightly before softly grabbing the plushy and nodded. She finally got enough confidence and gave her boyfriend a quick peck on the cheek before turning on her heel. One year of dating and this was the closest they had to a real kiss.
Baji grinned from ear to ear as he quickly walked after her. "Where'd all that confidence come from? Will the next kiss be anytime soon?" Ray considered herself lucky that Baji had zero to no sex drive, thus she had enough time to go at her own pace, at times however, Ray wondered if her boyfriend was even interested in her romantically.
"If you–" Before she could end her sentence, Ray tripped just as Baji barely caught her.
"Yo, you good?" Baji asked, helping her stand, only to see her heel broken and on the ground.
"Oh no, how will we walk now?" Ray whined, Baji helping her sit on a bench, while looking slightly annoyed. "Seriously, who in their right mind wears high heels to the summer festival anyway?" He went through his wavy hair, looking around for a store that may sell shoes.
"I do! I wanted to look cute!" She hugged her cat plushy, feeling embarrassed by how she was called out. What if she couldn't stay on the toes long enough for the special kiss? Baji let out a loud sigh before looking at his watch, there was still enough time for the fireworks. Turning back to Ray, he quickly started walking away. "Don't move, got that? I'll go see if there are any shoes I can buy."
Giving him a big nod, Ray pushed her head into the plushy, feeling happy how Baji treated her. She looked at the ground, feeling content with her relationship as she thought about how to kiss him under the fireworks. That would be romantic, no? Their very first kiss and that's exactly why she needed her high heels. There was no-one better than Baji she could ask for.
Lost in daydreaming, Ray felt a soft brush against her ankle before looking down to see a baby kitten meow at her. "My, where'd you come from?~" she smiled foundly, watching it walk past her and meow at her again from afar, however it seemed to have injured one of it's legs. She knew she shouldn't repeat the very same mistake as last year, and yet she watched the kitten meow at her from afar.
"it's just a few steps, I'm sure Baji wouldn't mind..." Ray thought to herself, as she looked at the small kitten meowing at her and without thinking, Ray stood up and tiptoed over to it, deciding to wear her half-broken shoes. The cat kept meowing as it walked behind one of the stalls, before suddenly bolting back, right past her feet. "Oh my, you just can't decide, can you?" Ray smiled while looking at the cat disappear, before her back suddeny hit a broad chest.
Finally having found a pair of shoes, Baji made his way back to his girlfriend, only to find out she took off, yet again.
Feeling very fucking annoyed, Baji ruffled through his hair, starting to contemplate if she even wanted to see the fireworks with him at this point.
A call interrupted his thought process as he picked it up slowly. "What is it Mikey? I'm kinda–" "Where's my sister? Is she with you?" Baji couldn't even explain before getting interrupted. Taken aback by the tone, he continued, eyebrows raised. "What's going on?" Baji looked around the bench Ray sat at, before his eyes suddenly found her small purse and plushy laying a little further away, with a kitten playing with them.
"The guy we beat up last time is looking for trouble," Baji felt his pulse raise. "Draken said they tried getting Emma but failed, watch out if they go for Ray."
Ray was suddenly and roughly thrown against the brick wall, the wind blown out of her as she coughed heavily.
"fuck, she scratched me", the guy who threw her cussed, while another snickerd, throwing her shoes to the side.
"Just be relieved she didn't yell on our way here, that would have been annoying." The guy grinned, sitting down to smoke. There were atleast 10 people on the floor of the abandoned building, and more guarding outside.
All while, what seemed to be their boss, sat and smoked in peace while looking at her from afar. What did he want? Hurt her? Get information on Toman? While their boss slowly stepped on his cigarette and made his way towards her, Ray heard all types to whispers.
"If I had a girl, I'd be in bed when her, not a damn festival. Baji had it coming."
"I heard both his sisters are hot."
"What the fucks wrong with you guys? She's fucking ugly." – "Then fuck her from behind, asshole, stop complaining"
Their boss crouched down in front of her as she kept her head down, part of his men laughing at their crude jokes. "You know what your brother and boyfriend did to one of my juniors?" He suddenly asked. Baji and Mikey never told her anything about their gang life, making Ray curl up more into herself. She shook her head, her voice stuck in her throat. "Look up," He demanded. She doesn't. He clicked his tongue, sounding more annoyed this time, "I said look up before I make you."
It took a minute, before Ray slowly looked up and saw a bandaged up guy, nose broken and one black eye. Baji had a habit of hitting random people on the street, if he felt like it, so did she have this coming then?
Ray balled her hands into fists, voice shaking, "I... apologize on.... behalf of them... If they wronged you..." She paused, taking a breath, "but it wasn't me that... hit you...."
Everyone went quiet. It took a moment before she heard a soft, "look up." Ray slowly raised her eyes in confusion and immediately fell to the floor with her cheek burning, tears welling up in her eyes. Compared to Mikey and Baji, she wasn't used to fights, so just one harsh slap was all it took.
"Who do you think you are, to talk back to me?" he grabed her by her hair, making her look up, as she desperately pushed him away by his chest. "I'm seriously gonna–" He raised his hand again but suddenly went quiet, looking at her now open blouse which revealed her chest completely.
"Boss?" One of the guys asked in confusion.
"How important do you think she is to Baji?" He suddenly asked, looking her up and down while she kept her eyes closed shut out of fear for the next slap.
"I-Im not sure... One of our men said he was rather compliant when he was with her during the festival, docile even, but..."
His boss let Ray fall to the ground before standing up and looking at his men, pulling out another smoke, "she's kinda cute, no?" He mocked, watching her hold back sobs.
The eyes of his men widened in suprise before some of them smiled in interest, "been some time since we've done this, boss," one of them spoke, "we were starting to get bored just now," another said.
Not all knights in shining armors...
Dozens of first division Toman members walked through the festival's crowd of people, pushing some out of the way and all led by Baji.
"Search through everything, she couldn't have walked far on her own." He held her purse and plushy in a tight grip, watching the people quickly stay out of their way.
Chifuyu looked at his friend, feeling worried as he watched him tie his hair. "Baji-san, I'm sure we'll–"
"Chifuyu." Baji interrupted, not saying anything further. The blond looked up, feeling his friends anger before looking away. "Should I have taken her with me?" Baji thought to himself, clenching his teeth, "What if it's already to late?"
"She keeps pushing me but doesn't say no, y'all think she actually wants this?" Ray scartched his chest, hit it, tried to get to his face, but nothing.
"That'd be hilarious," another one laughed, grabbing her wrists and pinning them down.
Ray shook her head, tears streaming down her face but not one word coming out her mouth. Was it fear? Was it a a flight-or-fight reaction?
Her legs hurt from being pushed apart and it felt like she was ripped in half, yet her voice was stuck in her throat.
She felt another harsh slap as her thoughts started to get mixed up, unable to think straight. Wheres Baji? Why does it hurt so much? When will this end? Does Baji know she's gone? Was it her clothes or her makeup? When will this end? Why didn't she just stay home...?
"I'll tell them to stop if you want." Their boss leaned down, smoking right into Ray's face who felt something leak out of her again, making her flinch in disgust.
She was thrown back onto her chest as something forcefully entered her oversensitive cunt again, all while their boss watched calmly.
She wanted this to end so bad. She turned to him, looking at him through her disheveled hair and wet lashes.
He grinned with his cig between his teeth, softly putting his hand to her cheek and going through her hair. "If you say you enjoy this, I promise to tell them to stop."
Ray didn't even register his words as she rocked back and furth into the palm of his calloused hand. She shook her head, only to suddenly feel the peace quicken, throwing her into even more overstimulated pain.
"Don't you wanna go home?" He whispered, feeling his own dick harden just by looking at her fucked out state, while she leaned into his hand. "I'm sure Baji's missing y–"
A moan escaped her mouth, suprising everyone and herself.
"That's the first sound she has gotten out..." the guy fucking her grinned, grabbing her by the hair to pull her back. "...holly shit that was hot, so she does like it!"
Their boss finally pulled her up by her hair and just for the kick of it, he pulled her into a soft kiss, making her arms finally give up as her face fell first into the concrete. Ray felt tears prick her eyes again and a sob made its way up. She didn't like it, she really didn't, so why?
Digging her nails into her palm, she let her face be pressed into the concrete and let out another moan between tears and sobs. "I– ah– l-like this... I... N-ugh, please..." she sobed, feeling a knot in her throat. "I... ah... Please..."
And just as the fireworks went off outside, Ray felt herself come, as a mix of both tears and snot made it's way down her face. Why did she come? Why couldn't she say no? She didn't want this, she knew she didn't.
After what felt like an eternity after death, the door suddenly flew open, revealing an out of breath Baji.
...arrive on time
After that, everything just felt like a dream. She looked at the floor with a throbbing head as more men ran onto the floor after Chifuyu's loud roar for more men.
Ray's ears rang, only able to hear muffled noises of punches, yelling and the especially fireworks.
Someone slowly made his way towards her, almost as if not to scare her and kneeled down infront of her before slowly putting his jacket around her shoulders. Looking up in a haze, Chifuyu looked at Ray in intense sorrow, "B-Baji was searching for you everywhere! He-" Chifuyu clenched his teeth, not knowing how to explain or how to make her feel better in the slightest. Ray looked past Chifuyu, and towards Baji who had blood on his knuckles while he watched one of the men escape, only for more Toman members to run after him. When was the last time he looked so utterly angry?
"Don't let him get away!"
"You're gonna shit blood after this, bastard!"
Chifuyu looked up at Baji who walked towards them and quickly moved aside.
Baji kneeled infront of her, not saying a word. All non-toman members in the room were on the floor bleeding, and those that escaped had members after them, not that it mattered.
Only when Baji softly grabbed her by the shoulders did Ray look into his eyes. He teared up, looking at her with the fireworks still up in the sky.
Ever since Shinichiro died, Baji hadn't shed a single tear and here he was, his throat hurt from holding back just by looking at Ray.
He slowly pulled her into a hug, his hands trembling, not wanting to overwhelm her.
She took a moment before she slowly leaned into his chest, finally after feeling safe enough she let out a sob that then gradually turned into a wail. She didn't say a single word as she softly hit his back, weeping.
"I know, I know... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..." She should slap him, hit him, anything, he'd take anything, yet even now Ray still loved him too much to slap him. He promised to protect her afterfall.
Chifuyu couldn't hold his tears back just like many other Toman members, who desperately tried to hold it in, all while nobody noticed as their leader had also arrived right at the door.
Mikey quickly sprinted to the top of the floor, slight blood on his cheek as he hectically searched for his sister. After hearing some noise he sprinted up the stairs only to see his childhood friend with blood on his hands, hugging his weeping sister.
"Baji... What?" Mikey said out of breath. He walked towards his team, only to see his childhood friend crying like the day he had killed Mikey's brother, as if it was also him who had killed his sister.
"Mikey... I'm sorry..."

Chapter 26 Recap: "Amid the Three Islands Sun Wukong seeks a cure; With sweet dew Guanshiyin revivies a tree"
After presenting a short poem on how for as much as “The proverb says the sword’s the law of life” it’s assured that “The strong man will meet someone stronger still,” this chapter begins where the first volume ended; the Zhenyuan Great Immortal grabs the Monkey King, and tells the simian to stop “playing with your magic” and restore his Ginseng Fruit Tree. As is becoming typical for Sun Wukong, the monkey laughs at hearing the angry proclamation of his foe, and even goes on to state that if the Master Zhenyuan had but made this demand in the first place, “we would have been spared the conflict.” The Monkey King then tells the Great Immortal to untie Tang Sanzang, and that he’ll “give you back a living tree.” Master  Zhenyuan declares that if Sun Wukong manages to restore his tree he’ll become the monkey’s sworn brother.
Reckoning that the other pilgrims won’t be able to escape, the Zhenyuan Great Immortal has Tripitaka, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing freed from their bonds. Zhu Bajie accuses Sun Wukong of wanting to “flee and take to the road all by himself” using the excuse of finding a way to revive the Ginseng Tree. The Monkey King declares he is “speaking…only the truth,” and that he plans to travel to the Three Islands and Ten Islets of the Great Eastern Ocean in order to ask the Immortals and Aged Sages that live there for a way to revive the three. He also declares he should be able to get the job done in three days. Likely feeling a bit suspicious of the monke, Tang Sanzang agrees to Sun Wukong’s three-day grace period, but also states that if the simian doesn’t return by then “I’ll begin reciting that ‘Old-Time Sutra’!” Fearful of the potential massive headache (but not enough to not threaten the Great Immortal’s kitchenware if Tripitaka isn’t given the best of care), the Monkey King sets off on his arboreal mission.
“Moving through the air like lightning and meteor,” Sun Wukong’s first stop in the Great Eastern Ocean is the “immortal region of Penglai,” a series of islands. There, he soon encounters a group of three immortals who look like old men playing encirclement chess. These are the Star of Longevity, the Star of Blessing, and the Star of Wealth. After the old men and the old monkey greet each other, Sun Wukong explains his situation while the immortals call him a “completely ignorant” dumb ape for having stolen the ginseng fruit and acting like it wasn’t a big deal, and of course for having broken the Ginseng Tree in the first place. The crux of the matter is that the “level of cultivation in Dao of the Great Immortal far surpasses” that of these three immortals, and that this is equally true for the Ginseng Tree; while “all you would need is one grain of my millet-elixir” to revive an earthly creature, the ginseng fruit “is the very root of all divine trees.” As such, these more lowly immortals have no way to heal it.
The Monkey King is dejected at this news, but the Star of Blessing encourages him by suggesting that there might be a cure for the tree somewhere else. The three immortals are also delighted upon learning of Sun Wukong’s fillet and the sutra that squeezes his head, for had “it not been for this little means of control, you would be crawling all over Heaven again!” Even so, the Star of Longevity promises that though the Great Immortal is these immortals’ senior, they’ll pay him a visit on the Monkey King’s behalf and also ask Tang Sanzang to not recite the Tight-Fillet Spell while the monkey is sincerely looking for a cure. Sun Wukong thanks them, and travels on.
The Stars mount the clouds and travel straight to the Abbey of Five Villages, where their arrival is announced by “the cries of cranes.” Zhu Bajie acts very familiar with the Star of Longevity, even calling him a “blubbery old codger.” The Star of Longevity calls him a “stupid coolie” in return, and the pig yaoguai and the three immortals get into a small name-calling contest before the arrival of Tripitaka and Master Zhenyuan. The three immortals are then able to give their account of Sun Wukong’s actions, all while being pranked by Zhu Bajie.
In the meantime, the Monkey King makes his arrival at the Fangzhang Mountain. It’s a beautiful place, but the simian is “in no mood to enjoy the scenery.” He is able to find an immortal quickly who we learn is the “Grand Thearch of the East,” said to have “saved the world a few times from distress.” Greeting this immortal “somewhat shamefacedly,” Sun Wukong is soon invited into to the Grand Thearch’s palace for tea. While waiting for the tea, the Monkey King is also greeted by a “lowly immortal named Dongfang Shuo,” who we learn had “palmed from Heaven’s gods’ peaches three times.” After Sun Wukong and Dongfang Shuo greet each other as “old burglar” and “little crook” respectively, the Grand Thearch orders Dongfang Shuo, religious name Manqian, to bring them tea. Manqian leaves, and Sun Wukong makes his request for a cure for the Ginseng Tree. The Grand Thearch calls him an “ape” who has “no care for anything except to cause trouble everywhere.” He also tells the Monkey King that Master Zhenyuan is “the patriarch of earthbound immortals,” and that even Sun Wukong doesn’t have the power to escape him. Furthermore, as the Ginseng Fruit Tree is the result of a “spiritual root that came into existence at the time of creation,” there’s no cure that the Grand Thearch knows of. Hearing this, old Monkey decides to take his leave, not daring to stay for an offered cup of jade nectar.
The next stop is the island of Yingzhou, another lovely realm for immortals. Here he finds nine immortals “with luminous white hair and beards” and “youthful complexion” “playing chess and drinking wine, telling jokes and singing songs.” Sun Wukong walks up to this gathering, and these immortals “quickly rose to greet him.” After the Monkey King and these Nine Elders exchange pleasantries (and Sun Wukong is lightly chided by the Nine Elders because had he “not disrupted Heaven, he would be even more content than we are), the monkey gives an account of his so far fruitless effort to restore the Ginseng Tree. After being told that he causes “too much trouble! Just too much trouble. Honestly, we don’t have a cure” but also being invited to “drink some jade nectar and eat some lotus root,” Sun Wukong swiftly takes his leave of the nine elders and heads straight to the Potalaka Mountain. There he finds “the Bodhisattva Guanyin giving a lecture to the various celestial guardians, dragon-ladies, and Moksa in the purple bamboo grove.” Noticing the Monkey King’s arrival, Bodhisattva Guayin sends the Great Mountain Guardian, formerly known as the Black Wind King, to meet him. After almost getting into an altercation with this yaoguai-turned-divine-guardian because he addressed him too familiarly, Sun Wukong “at once became solemn and earnest” when he hears that Bodhisattva Guanyin had asked the Great Mountain Guardian to greet him, and follows the bear down to have an audience with the bodhisattva. The Monkey King bows down and gives an account of what happened. The bodhisattva scolds him as a “mischievous monkey,” and Sun Wukong agrees that he “was truly ignorant.” Bodhisattva Guanyin also asks the Monkey King why he didn’t come to her sooner, which secretly pleases Sun Wukong as he assumes this means she as a cure. And indeed, the bodhisattva reveals that the “sweet dew in my immaculate vase can heal divine trees or spirit roots.” Declaring himself “lucky! Truly lucky!,” Sun Wukong flies behind Bodhisattva Guanyin back to the Abbey of Five Villages.
Master Zhenyuan was in the midst of “having lofty conversation with the Three Elders” when he notices the bodhisattva has arrived. Soon after all the assembled immortals, yaoguai, and one mortal man greet her, Bodhisattva Guanyin leads the party to where the Ginseng Tree lies dead. She orders Sun Wukong to stretch out his left hand, and, dipping her willow twig into the sweet dew of her vase, she “then used it as a brush and drew on the palm of Pilgrim a charm that had revivifying power.” She next tells the Monkey King to “place his hand at the base of the tree and watch for the sign of water spurting out.” Sun Wukong does so, and soon a “clear spring welled up from the ground.” After making it known that only something made of jade should be used to scoop up the water, Bodhisattva Guanyin then says the tree should be pushed back into an upright position and that this water should be poured over it from the top down. And so the Great Immortal “asked the little lads to take out some thirty jade tea cups and some fifty wine goblets with which they scooped up the clear water. Pilgrim, Eight Rules, and Sha Monk raised the tree into an upright position and covered its base with topsoil. They then handed the jade cups one by one to the Bodhisattva, who sprinkled the sweet liquid onto the tree with her willow branch as she recited a spell.” Before long, “the tree turned green all at once with thick leaves and branches.” Furthermore, twenty-three ginseng fruits ripen as well, one more than they had before.
The Great Immortal is very pleased by the restoration of the Ginseng Tree, and has ten of the fruits gathered so that he could host a Festival of Ginseng Fruits in honor of Bodhisattva Guanyin and the Three Elders. Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing each get a fruit, and seeing a bodhisattva and immortals consume the fruit convinces Tang Sanzang to eat one as well, meaning that he is now quite the immortal monk. After Sun Wukong thanks the Bodhisattva Guanyin and the Three Stars for their assistance they go back to their respective homes. To end the celebration, Master Zhenyuan “also prepared some vegetarian wine for a banquet, during which he and Pilgrim became bond-brothers.” And it is on the note that both Tang Sanzang and his disciples go to bed happy and have a restful night at the Abbey of Five Villages that this chapter ends.

as you stood behind the doors of your chosen wedding venue, holding the bouquet of flowers in your hands, you couldn't help but recall catching hinata's bouquet back at her and takemichi's wedding.
you remembered being perplexed as to how you were able to catch without any probability or luck based hex, then showing the bouquet you tossed to mikey afterwards, and true to your and mikey's words, gojo freaked out a little when he discovered you caught the bouquet, especially since mikey had told him in secret that he was planning on proposing to you.
it wasn't long after hinata and takemichi's wedding that mikey proposed to you. it was a little chaotic, considering how toman was a part of the surprise, as well as the other gangs you were familiar with, such as tenjiku because of izana and kakucho, black dragons because you revived shinichiro, and even brahman because of senju, but it all leads to here.
the wedding day of your dreams.
"kikufuku?"
you blinked your eyes and turned to face gojo, your beloved father, who was dressed in a suit and tie and holding out his arm for you.
"oh, right," you said before quickly wrapping your arm around his and saying, "sorry!"
gojo asked, "are you nervous?"
you shook your head, "i'm fine. i just can't believe the day has finally arrived, and i've never been happier than i am right now."
your father wasn't wearing his blindfold to present himself formally on your special day, but it did give you the opportunity to see how his crystalline blue six eyes were staring at you with tears in them and his lips trembling as he spoke to you, "i can't believe it either.."
"i haven't even walked down the aisle yet, dad," you couldn't help but smile and giggle as gojo peered down at you, wiping away tears from his glossy eyes.
"i know, but, just look at you. my precious little kikufuku, you're all grown-up now! i still remember it just like it was yesterday, when i first saw you and took care of you as my own. god, you were just a baby, and now i'm giving you away to mikey." gojo exclaimed, pursing his lips into a thin line after taking a deep breath and wiping at his tears, "but i'm happy for you, [name]. i really am and i'm sure toji and your uncle geto are just as happy too. "
"i'm sure of that too." you nodded your head in agreement.
as the doors opened, you prepared with a smile and a deep breath. everyone's attention was immediately drawn to you, the bride, the true star of today's event.
each pew was filled with familiar faces. from your older half brother megumi, family-figures from jujutsu tech like uncle nanami, auntie shoko, and utahime, each and every founding member and captains of the disbanded gangs; toman, tenjiku, black dragons, and brahman to your prettiest bridesmaids, nobara, maki, emma, hinata, yuzuha, and senju, your maid of honor, tsumiki, your older half sister, and mikey's best man, draken, of course, stood at the sides.
but at the very end of the carpet laid out for you, as your flower boys, particularly baji, chifuyu, kazutora, and takemichi, threw petals, with baji nearly tripping and the boys laughing, your eyes were on the love of your life. sano manjiro, your beloved mikey, the man you wished you could spend the rest of your life with. even if years have passed already, it still takes you back to every moment that has happened and led to this day. from the first time you saw him to how you two fell in love.
and now mikey was waiting for you at the end of the carpet, his eyes filled with love and adoration, a bright and genuine smile plastered on his face as you began to walk down the aisle towards him, your arm interwoven with gojo's as you wore the wedding gown that mitsuya made together with his suit when the piano started to play.
this was it. the day you and mikey had been waiting for. everything was perfect.
but, just as you were about to stand by mikey and have the marriage officiant let you two exchange vows, a blast ripped through the wedding venue, shaking and sweeping everyone off their feet, including you. gojo grabbed you and shielded you from falling debris from the ceiling by putting up his infinity with you in his arms, teleporting you and mikey, whom gojo immediately whisked away, somewhere safe as everyone ran.
"mikey." you worriedly embraced him, who returned your embrace in a much tighter one.
"are you two okay?!" gojo asked in concern.
"i'm okay, i'm okay." said mikey shakily as he nodded at gojo. "we're fine."
you and everyone else raised your eyes to the cursed spirit who had terrorized your wedding. your brow furrowed in scorn. it was a special curse that came with other cursed spirits. naturally, with everyone's lives on the line at the time, everyone could see them.
"shit. there's too many," draken exclaimed as he protectively drew emma behind him, whom he had previously fled to as soon as the explosion occurred. mitsuya and takemichi followed yuzuha and hinata, while takeomi and sanzu went after their sister, and megumi went after his half sister, "the last time we encountered one, it was by itself."
"so these are cursed spirits..." yuzuha gulped nervously, clutching mitsuya's hand tightly, her brow furrowed as she stared at the monstrosities before them.
"i never thought i'd see one, let alone this many in my life," senju said nervously as takeomi and sanzu stood guard in front of her.
"same here, senju.." hinata nodded slowly in agreement as she held takemichi's arm, "same.."
all of your jujutsu sorcerer family figures immediately sprung into action. nanami, maki, yuuta, and nobara prepared their cursed weapons; megumi summoned his demon dogs; yuuji, panda, and inumaki, as well as your aunts, readied and tended everyone, with the boys from toman, tenjiku, brahman, and black dragons assisting them. gojo then drew you and mikey to your feet.
you quickly turned your gaze to your bridesmaids, who were with draken, mitsuya, and takemichi, and left mikey to gojo. you sliced your hand through the air to disperse a force field to shield them with your chaos magic, but you were caught off guard and flung back by the immense raw cursed energy of the special grade curse.
"[NAME]!!" mikey, along with your bridgemaids and a few of the toman boys, yelled your name, but gojo quickly stopped him as he tried to chase you down.
"stop! you and the others don't have cursed energy," gojo explained, looking at each and every one of them solemnly, "all of you, stay back!"
"don't mind me!" you managed, lifting your head, "emma, yuzuha, hinata, senju, go with takemichi, mistuya, and draken! megumi, take tsumiki-nee with you, and dad, you take mikey!"
they all nodded and fled after you destroyed the shield you had put up for them.
the impact sent you flying straight back to one of the pews, causing you to sustain injuries and possibly shed a few blood. it didn't hurt as much, but you let out a bitter scoff as you looked at your ripped wedding gown, then towards the event, where everything was in shambles. your jujutsu family members were repelling curses left and right.
everything had been ruined.
this was utterly unacceptable.
you stood up with trembling closed fists and made a clean straight dash even with your heels on, patching up your injuries as you went. you then shot down a number of curses with red psionics of your chaos magic while simultaneously bringing everyone to safety; lifting debris and putting up force fields for their protections. while the jujutsu sorcerers and former gang members were taking action, they couldn't help but notice you, particularly mikey.
you were fighting and defending as if nothing was happening. years of honing your witchcraft abilities and powers appeared to have paid off. previously, your defenses were easily breached, and you struggled to multitask.
the fact that you were wearing a wedding gown and heels instead of your customized jujutsu uniform made your soon-to-be husband feel things. sure, you were furious that curses had ruined your wedding, and your eyes were glowing a menacing red color as you imbued your hands with red psionics and such, but your display was both frightening and alluring right now.
after dealing with the majority of the weaker curses with the help of your family, you walked down the aisle in all your glory, not towards mikey, but towards the special grade curse who had the audacity to laugh and wreak havoc. given how most cursed spirits are afraid of you, it was actually quite brave for a cursed spirit. but don't worry about it; you'll make it fear you and regret its actions.
gojo left mikey to izana and shinichiro, as well as the other guests, after assisting in escorting others to safety, and made a beeline for you to assist, but before gojo could even get close, you held your white gloved hand up.
"this one's mine," you said calmly, glancing briefly at the limitless sorcerer before returning your gaze to the cursed spirit, your messy [color] hair flying in the air and [color] eyes hardening into a glare as your chaos magic became amplified due to your emotions.
"[name]-chan's fighting that thing?" shinichiro asked, swallowing hard as he, izana, and mikey watched you from a distance, "all by herself?"
"well, she's not called the scarlet witch for nothing. [name] has exorcised countless special grade curses before, and she even resurrected you, shin-nii," izana said, "and you should know that nothing scarier than a woman scorned."
"[name]'s beating that curse's ass for sure," mikey smirked as he turned to face izana, who nodded in agreement and responded with the same confident smirk.
it was clear that mikey was falling harder for you, and his willingness to marry you soon was growing. even though your hair was a mess, with loose strands falling on your face, and your leg had become exposed due to your wedding gown ripping, you were stunning. absolutely badass. mikey adored you and he still does.
you danced without further ado. you fired abnormally large red psionic blasts at the special grade curse, who retaliated with its own cursed technique.
everyone stood there in awe as black markings appeared on the ground directly in front of you and the cursed spirit, only to scatter into a mandala pattern before rising and morphing into a cage for you two. it wasn't exactly a domain expansion, but it was a technique, and somehow the cage accelerated the curse, allowing it to dodge your red psionic blasts.
it proceeded to attack you at breakneck speed, coming from all directions within the cage, but you'd learned your lesson from being caught off guard earlier. you had projected red psionic barriers to protect yourself from harm. as the mandala pattern on the ground began to move, you engaged the curse in hand-to-hand combat. even with your torn and soot-covered wedding gown and heels, your attacks didn't falter.
the way you moved quickly and with pinpoint accuracy reminded the jujutsu sorcerers of gojo whenever he engaged in hand-to-hand combat. It was clear you learned how to fight like that from your father, and he couldn't help but smirk as he watched you, just like mikey and izana.
you stopped exchanging powerful blows with your fists and expanded the force field you has put up for yourself into an explosive red blast that collided with the cage with a tilt of your head and the curve of the edge of your lipsticked stained lips.
when it attacked you again, you effortlessly evaded it by leaping into the air and levitating before it could hit you with its explosive cursed energy. you then conjured a bright red sphere in your hands, expanding it before shooting it at the curse. instead of disintegrating, it retaliated by sending you more cursed energy. the collision of cursed energy and chaos magic sent a shockwave through the area.
you continued to pour the rest of your chaos magic into the curse's blast, but its persistence to fight you did not waver. from inside, the two of you began to levitate. you looked around for a moment and noticed the mandala pattern on the ground has vanished. instead, black tendrils shot out from the curse's back and aimed for you, but before it can reach you, your red psionics overpowered the curse, causing it to fling back and destroy the black cage it had constructed in the process.
smoke emerged from the collision of cursed energy and chaos magic. you repelled out the smoke using your red psionics. before the curse could react further, you grabbed it with your red psionics and yanked its heavily massacred curse body, which was attempting to regenerate and flee, towards you.
the special grade curse tried to attack you again with its raw cursed energy, but you siphoned it, absorbing its power into yours, causing it to thrash and shriek in pain.
"this is for ruining my wedding." you spat out bitterly, your teeth practically seething.
with that, you made a fist with your glowing red hand and the curse disintegrated, completely yet brutally exorcising the curse with your chaos magic.
as you took deep and heavy breaths to catch some air after fighting, you turned around to see mikey, his brothers, gojo, and the rest of your guests approaching you.
"[name]!!" they cried out.
you staggered toward mikey, who had caught you just as you were about to trip. you melted into his embrace, resting your head on his shoulder while he wrapped his arms tightly around you.
"are you okay?" mikey asked as he rubbed your back, "you're not hurt are you?"
"i'm fine. just a little upset that my wedding was ruined by some petty curse," you sighed, shaking your head as you frowned at your strewn surroundings, "but i'm glad all of you are safe."
"it's still your wedding day though, [name]," tsumiki exclaimed, her eyes hopeful and reassuring, "it's not over yet."
gojo agreed, smiling at you. "tsumiki's right, kikufuku."
"yeah, who cares if some cursed spirit crashed the wedding? i'm still marrying you," mikey said as he pulled away, staring at you determinedly yet with so much love and adoration, "good god, i love you. no matter what comes our way, i will choose to be with you. always."
mikey tightened his hold on your hands, "so, marry me, fushiguro [name]."
you grinned, "then, let's take it from the top."
red psionics emitted from your hands, which were intertwined with mikey's, and before anyone knew it, your chaos magic had picked up even the smallest debris and completely repaired the collateral damage done by the special grade curse and its low leveled counterparts, much like a reversed cursed technique.
you had even put everyone back in their respective seats and places from before the wedding was disrupted, as well as linking arms with gojo, holding your bouquet with mikey and the marriage officiant at the end of the carpet, and hair, makeup, and wedding gown all fixed, surprising the non-jujutsu sorcerers with your unrivaled reality warping abilities.
"heh, you never fail to impress me, kikufuku," gojo chuckled softly, peering down at his suit and tie, which looked brand new and hadn't been covered in soot earlier.
"a little bit of magic goes a long way," you smiled as you winked at gojo.
with everything in place and everyone fixed up just like you, the piano began to play, and you walked down the aisle with gojo once more, but this time there were no interruptions.
"dear friends and family, we have gathered here today to witness and celebrate not only fushiguro [name]'s victory over the special cursed spirit, but also the marriage of her and sano manjiro..."
it wasn't long before you and mikey reunited in front of the marriage officiant to exchange vows and rings, eventually picking up where you two left off. this day wasn't perfect, but everything worked out in the end and you still got your happily ever after.

Haters really be out here saying the TR ending isn’t good because there aren’t enough traumatized children like okay then go read Berserk or Oyasumi Pun Pun if you want to be so fucking miserable. These are the same people who go to Wakui's twitter and say shit like "Draken revival when" on EVERY post and then when they get it they still complain. And for the people that are like "We wanted Baji/Izana/Kaku/Draken to come back alive but not this way" then pray tell HOW?? Were they expecting Takemichi to drag them from heaven back to earth?? Glad there are people who can appreciate a happy ending (albeit rushed but I prefer this then half the cast dying)
NO LIKE FR!! SO GLAD YOU UNDERSTAND ME NONNIE!
if things ended on a miserable note (say when mikey stabbed takemichi he actually did die) and the cast ends up either dead or traumatized and sick in their heads for the rest of their lives, ik people would be so much more upset about it. we got the happy ending we all wanted, so WDYM "NOT THIS WAY" 😭
i see those replies on every tweet wakui posts too, like BAJI REVIVAL WHEN? GIVE DRAKEN BACK TO US PLS!! and now we got it and they're still mad?? ok.
OH AND ANOTHER THING!
people are saying that all the other friendships michi had are being cast aside (like fuyutake, inutake etc) in reference to the panel where takemichi says "i was alone in all this, but now i have you" to mikey.
HE MEANS IN TIME LEAPING 💀 like i cannot be the only one who read that part and instantly knew that michi meant that all this time, he was the sole time leaper and he was working through past and present alone, but now that mikey went back in time with him, he is no longer alone and has mikey by his side to help him.
but somehow everyone i seen on twitter is saying "so takemichi didn't value his friendship with chifuyu?? his friendship with mitsuya?? his friendship with inui??"
bro that is not what he meant... 💀
this was literally the only sensible way we could get a happy ending.
wakui crammed it all into a single chapter so it might not make sense how all the pieces actually came together, but WE GOT THE HAPPY ENDING YALL JUST USE YOUR IMAGINATION FOR THE PLOT HOLES 😭

I like how you randomly appeared on my fy, checked out your art, read some of your AU and was like "yes,a person of quality.Mhm." *cutely follows*.
You are now obliged to share more of this (/nm) because this Au will now be on my mind for at least a month
“A PERSON OF QUALITY” M CRYIIINGGG SJDJKSSJ THANKS
Im actually just a silly person that didn’t like the ending of their hyperfixation so i said “mm no pass me the pencil”
Haven’t been able to draw much but i do have some loose ideas and info
I find interesting that without the last time travel in canon absolutely EVERYTHING would’ve have gone downhill, like normally in the past time travels takemichi did there was always a good change, something good that happened, like kazutora’s survival in Valhalla vs Toman, that even if the future ended up worse, that change was still something valuable.
In Kanto vs Toman this gets completely erased, there’s literally no way out of a bad ending, three people died with absolutely no recompense, because the future staying exactly the same as bonten TL, Mikey being far away from everyone, but with three more dead people.
Takemichi dies and all turn into this in the matter of a week
Tumblr media
That’s kind of what dragged me to think about this, am i being redundant??? Also i felt the necessity of exploring more Mikey’s mental health through the manga, which was heavenly implied and tried to give it a little of closure, which was something that i really wanted.
Now, there IS in fact a last time travel in this AU, but unlike canon, they don’t go back to the beginning beginning. Mikey travels back to this exact moment
Tumblr media
I think that the time capsule moment was a very nice point to travel to, idk how to write a coherent paragraph so lemme just do it like this:
- Characters who’s death ate important to other characters development remain dead (shinichiro, baji, emma, izana) THAT ALTHOUGH IT HURTS ME SO MUCH, i didn’t like that everyone suddenly revived
- here is when Mikey starts to get actual fucking help LMAO, like while they were burying the time capsule, Mikey already knew what he was end of being, he literally planned a twelve-year-long su!cide at that moment. So i think that for the final TL to get a happy (as much as it can) ending is taking that plan back and actually start a healing journey with everything that has happened am i overthinking too much?
- ANYWAY, imma be fully transparent, i don’t know when exactly Mikey travels back, I know that he’s the time traveler because of michi giving him the power before dying, and Kazutora is the trigger. But idk if make him travel back the day Kazutora gets released from jail or before (still gonna keep him some good years behind bars tho)
NOW I CAN START WITH SILLY STUFF
- Theres a stray cat that lives in the prison called Arepa, all the prisoners know her
- Kazutora is REALLY well behaved in prison, and he has some privileges bc if that of course, Mikey thinks that’s a lie and that he actually sucked off some guard to have said benefits
-on the other side, Mikey is completely unstable, one day he can be rotting inside his sell not giving a fuck about anyone, and the other he can be fighting to death with another inmate
-he has been in solitary confinement more than once
- Kazutora receives letters from chifuyu every now and then, Mikey received a lot from Sanzu and even one from koko but he never answered, he wants to be forgotten just like in Bonten TL
-Chifuyu testified in Mikey’s trial, he also visited him once, that conversation is very well daydreamed in my head kakdjsksjjs
- There’s a good amount of mental health talk in this AU bc of course that Mikey and Kazutora in the same room was a great idea of me, so if you’re sensitive to that be careful 💙
-right now I’m drawing a little comic about Sanzu and Senju but i just have the sketch for now forgive my sins, and there’s actually a lot of panels and convos i have already like completely finished in my head, like when Mikey travels back? That’s COMPLETELY planned already jajdjsjsj im just slow
That’s all I think???? (It’s totally not but if I remember something ill post it or edit this)
Lemme know your thoughts before i consider myself cringe and delete all this text ISJDJDJSJJSJS

Last analysis
Since Tokyo Revengers has only 2 chapters left, this is probably my last analysis. In this post I want to talk about how the last arc could be improved, without changing the canon story.
Before that, let my talk about chapter 276 a bit. So, Takemichi “died” but time leaped to 1998. This seems a random year, because Mikey’s incident happen in 1999. However, the year somewhat makes sense. Takemichi died holding hands with Mikey, right? The same happen in Bonten timeline. From 2018 to 2008 (10 years), and from 2008 to 1998 (10 years again). So it’s somehow coherent.
But, I’m not sure the “reset route” is a good idea. It’s true that everything that happened began with Mikey’s incident:
Mikey fell and died
Shinichiro became a time leaper and accidentally cursed Mikey
Mikey knows something is wrong with him and relied on Kisaki
Kisaki corrupted Toman
Under Kisaki, Toman members became criminals (some died)
Kisaki killed Hina
Takemichi became a time leaper
With the “reset route”, everything that happened will be erased. What about Takemichi and Chifuyu friendship? And Takemichi relationship with all the other character? And what about future Naoto who assisted Takemichi during all Kisaki arc?
It’s true I wanted a revival arc for Draken, Emma, Baji, Izana and Kakucho, but with Kisaki alive again it’s worrying.
By the way, how Kisaki knew about time leaping although he wasn’t a time leaper nor a trigger?
And how everything will be wrapped in only 2 chapters?
To be honest, I though that the manga would have at least 300 chapters.
Everything was perfect until Tenjiku/Bonten arc. There was no way the manga ended with Mikey still being mysterious, I mean we knew very little about him. So an arc focused on him was needed. However, the execution of the last arc probably didn’t stand up to the expectation.
I don’t know about the editorial history behind it. I don’t know if it was the author’s fault or the publishing house’s fault. That is, the pacing of the first part (until chapter 207) was really good, so why the last arc was so rushed/superficial?
Anyway, here some personal opinion about how the last arc could have been improved and some analysis:
The 2 years time skip was okay (Note: in the previous timelines, Toman reigned thanks to Kisaki, creating an era where they dominate. Tenjiku arc ended with Toman disbandment, marking the end of an era. As a consequence, new gangs emerged to take Toman spot to create their own era). The time skip served to show how everything has changed after the end of Toman —> the 3 Deities was a new status quo
Takemichi joining Brahman —> Takemichi chose to protect his friends happy future, so he didn’t involved them. At the same time, Mikey was unapproachable, so he had no other choice but to join a gang. Also, Draken was a member of Brahman, so he wasn’t alone, that’s the premise.
In Brahman, Takemichi only interact with Senju. It would be better to see Takemichi interacting with the other members, too, in particular with the first generation Black Dragons. Since we discovered that Wakasa knew about Shinichiro being a time leaper, it would be good to have some hint about Wakasa realizing Takemichi was the kid Shinichiro gave his power to. Also, it would be good that while in Brahman, Takemichi heard more stories about Shinichiro. Takemichi doesn’t remember him and never seen a photo of him, but hearing more stories could awoke something and it could become relevant in future chapters.
More Takemichi and Senju interaction + more hints about Akashi family past would have been a good addiction for Senju and Sanzu’s characterization. To be honest, I don’t understand Sanzu. I get that he cared for Mikey, but why he wanted the dark impulse to take over him? Why did he killed Mucho? Why did he tried to kill everyone with the train and than he is worried for Takemichi?
Draken death. I didn’t expect that, but Draken was clearly not happy after losing both Emma and Mikey. His death was really sad, but coherent. Takemichi was really confused because of the 2 years time skip, but the promise with Draken give him a reason more to save Mikey.
Some improvement during Three Deities arc. The flashback about first generation Black Dragon and South were okay. It would be better to have more Benkei and Wakasa point of view, like why they re-joined a gang and for what purpose they fight. Some anticipation for Sanzu vs. Senju. Regarding South, he seems to existed only to be killed. South had “impulse”, different from dark impulse, but similar. Both impulse have the same effect: impulse to destroy. South had that impulse because he grew up in a violent environment, he had killed many people before. South accepted that impulse, why Mikey’s are born from a curse and they get stronger against his will. I think that is a rational explanation for this part.
Takemichi creating his own gang. Takemichi as the leader of a gang was anticipated. In the end, he had to involve his friends. Takemichi wanted to accomplish his mission alone, he always felt he had to save everyone alone. The only person he told about his powers is Chifuyu (Mikey and Draken discovered it from Hina). Takemichi has too much responsibilities (because of time leaping power), he had to realize that everyone felt the same as him.
Mitsuya rejecting the prize. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but Mitsuya didn’t reject the prize for his friendship with Takemichi. Mitsuya could have a promising future thanks to the prize (he could have keep it, and still joined Takemichi) but by rejecting it he was rejecting an easy future. Draken didn’t get used to a life without Toman, but in Bonten timeline he had to give up on Mikey and moved on. Mitsuya shared the same spirit as Draken, so his act was symbolic. He didn’t want to give up the present.
Takemichi recruiting members. I wanted Takemichi to recruit every member of the old Toman and have a chapter about an anecdote that show how Mikey is important to them. To make it better, it would be good to have Takemichi visiting Baji’s grave to strengthen his determination.
Analysis of the last battle:
The battle versus ex Tenjiku members feels like filler. Tenjiku members didn’t have a particular reason to fight for Mikey. Like Koko, they only seems to chose the winning party. At the same time, they were there to give Chifuyu and Mitsuya a chance to get revenge. They had an pending business since Tenjiku.
Koko and Inupi reunion was amazing. But, I always wanted a Inupi POV about his past. And I’m curious about what Waka and Benkei felt while fighting them.
Takemichi and Kakucho fighting together was okay. But it would be good to have more introspection about their friendship. Also, Kakucho didn’t need to die. Kakucho and Mikey weren’t close. It’s true that Kakucho lost his path after Izana death, and him changing side was expected. But his death was not needed. But thinking about Kakucho before meeting Izana, he was already thinking about dying. So the end for Kakucho was kind of coherent. But I wished Takemichi had more time to bid him farewell.
Taiju arrival was impactful. Him throwing his bike hitting Sanzu was hilarious. But I would have like for Takemichi and Taiju to have a short chat before starting to fight (like they did in Manila timeline). Anyway, Taiju vs. Waka and Benkei kind of represent new vs. old generation. But like I said before, Waka and Benkei need more characterization. We know nothing new about them every time they appear.
Mikey’s flashback was too short and quite confusing. If it was longer a more detailed, it would have been better. It felt incomplete.
Takemichi’s power to predict the future. Takemichi future vision activates very randomly. His visions always are connected to death and the more his life is in danger, more frequente the vision are… I guess. I don’t really know how it works.
Shinichiro is a time leaper. This part has a lot of potential, but was reduced to a plain explanation of events. Shinichiro only time leaped one time. Sanzu doesn’t really absolve to his role as the trigger. Sanzu only remember the original timeline, but concluded that Mikey is fated to a future of carnage. Why? And I would have liked to see more about the original timeline, like what the other character did. Just a cameo on the background was okay.
Dark impulse. So, dark impulse is a curse born from karma. Mikey is aware of it, but it would have been better to see Mikey struggle to control, suppress or understand this impulse. We only see him trying to share his darkness with Kisaki. A continuation about Mikey’s POV of his first meeting with Takemichi and how he became his hero is needed.
Takemichi saving Mikey from dark impulse. Takemichi wasn’t in the condition to fight, he never stand a chance. But it wasn’t his death that freed Mikey for dark impulse. To me, it was his determination. Takemichi fought Mikey with the same determination he fought Kisaki. Takemichi doesn’t want to have more regrets. But this determination resulted in his “death”. But, without counting the flashbacks in the middle of the fight, I would have like for Takemichi vs. Mikey fight to be as long as Mikey vs. Izana. Takemichi death was really too sudden.
Chapter 276 could have been two chapters: one about everyone reaction to Takemichi death and to the revelation of time leaping, the curse, etc. with Takemichi awaking in 1998 as the last page, and the rest in the second chapter.
That’s all for now. I’m not sure about how the manga can end with 2 chapters. Because resetting everything means:
Takemichi and Hina relationship will change
Takemichi and Chifuyu relationship will change
Kisaki alive again
Koko and Inupi never talk about their trauma (Takemichi can’t save Akane, he doesn’t even know Inupi had a sister)
Erase Taiju redemption
Maybe we will have more plot twist in the remaining chapters. And I really hope one of the special announcement will be about a sequel or spinoff.
The only real happy ending is a future where everyone is alive and still remember everything Takemichi did. Otherwise, it would be a bittersweet ending regardless. At this point, I prefer a open ending.

I’m happy that everyone is alive
But at the same time
I feel like the manga was rushed
How did they save everyone
It makes no sense
Like it’s kind of
Stupid
Anyways
I’m happy
But seriously how did they manage to convince south(didn’t he get some urges/impulses to beat people up??)and like izana shion haitanis
How did they change kisaki like he just stopped loving hina ? The whole reason why he became a gangster was to please her
And Hanma he hung out with kisaki for the fun what’s the fun now if everyone’s a goody two shoe
Ugh I’m going crazy
But
It was nice
I had fun reading it
Also how will takemichi afford to pay for such a big wedding I’m worried
He basically invited everybody
(So many things weren’t explained BUT I’m satisfied bye I’m so so so sorry this is too long I just kept writing)
Every time I came back to this ask and read everything you said, I was like “even I couldn’t figure if I actually hate this ending even more or not” because…. we know how complicated things are, with some of the characters who are just…… THERE. Not gonna lie to you Anon- I did feel happy, but at what cost? at what expense of my whole life waiting for a proper redemption to certain characters like Mikey specifically ONLY for Wakui to resurrect them all back ? GOD DAMN????
Majority of us has already moved on a long time ago since Baji died (I believe the imissyou post was more like a way to express the longing) and I know some were asking for a revival arc but….. Chapter 277 was a weird way to shorten the story of Takemichi’s journey when he time leaped for the last time. Imo, we needs at least 20 pages or 10 (if 20 are too much) after that. I don’t know man… it’s just feel too quick to assume everyone goes through the same trauma but what? they can handle it?? Huh? Like how lmaoooo ?? Except for Kakucho, which he still got into car accident since he has the scar, I was like “Yeah alright he’s fine but what about Inupi? Izana? and more importantly, THAT MF SOUTH??” and how he was introduced as an antagonist with a dark impulses and that too just…… gone like that? Maybe I just don’t understand this manga or maybe it manipulates me into thinking my brain isn’t big enough. Hahah. Idk.
And yeah I wonder how tf Takemichi invited everyone? Is he an architect? Is he a boss of convenience store??? Is he a doctor? Is he a idol? What is he???? Well, we might or might not know 🤷🏻‍♀️

Legends of Yingyue; The Hidden Monkey
Ch. 1
"Master, can we please stop for a moment? I'm hungry!" Whines Pigsy as the pilgrims continue their journey west to collect the Buddhist scriptures they were sent to find.
Tripitaka sighs "We will stop in a moment Pigsy." He reassures as Wukong jumps head to scout the area.
It has been nearly a whole month since the defeat of the demon ancestor, Yuandi, and the revival of the sacred tree which bore the Ginseng fruit. The pilgrims have set off to continue their journey after retrieving their horse and bidding farewell to their previous hosts. Now, they travel through a dense forest as the sun slowly crosses the sky and a hungry pig's stomach starts to growl. Wujing shakes his head "The sun will set soon. Let us hope we can find a place for the night." He says with a prayer to which Tripitaka nods.
From up ahead, Sun Wukong perches himself on a high branch and surveys the path. Letting out a huff, he hops down and joins the group. "Wukong, all is well with the path ahead?" Tripitaka questions as Wukong gives him a bored look.
"There's a small village up ahead. We can rest there, master." He says and looks over his shoulder back to the path. Wujing steps forward and stands next to the dragon horse Tripitaka rides upon.
"Considering our experiences on this journey, let's proceed with caution. It seems many of the villages, mountains, rivers, and so on which we encounter are not always in our favor."
Wukong nods. "Let's get going before Pigsy's stomach attracts a demon." He jokes and the pig in question gives off an offended scoff.
The pilgrims head down through the dense trees to the village and find 2 men blocking their path with spears. Behind them, a wooden gate marked the entrance to the houses and people beyond. "Halt! State your purpose for entering our village!" One of the guards orders. Wukong steps forward with a scowl and is about to say something when Tripitaka beats him to it.
"We are pilgrims headed west and wish for a safe place to sleep and refresh our supplies." He says, dismounting and bowing to the guards. The guards glance at each other for a moment before the 2nd guard speaks.
"State your names and how long you will be here." He demands and Tripitaka places his hands together.
"I am a monk who goes by Tang Sanzang, and these are my disciples Sha Wujing," Tripitaka gestures to Wujing who gives a small wave and smile. "... Zhu Bajie, or as we call him, Pigsy…" Pigsy nods his head to the guards. "... And the Monkey King Sun Wukong." Wukong remains still with a scowl as he examines the guards. "We and our horse will only be staying for 3 nights to help us regroup and relax a little before we take on the rest of our journey."
The guards nod, but the 1st guard keeps his eyes on Wukong. "You may enter. I strongly advise you not to cause trouble. If you do, the deity that protects us will make quick work of your punishment." He warns and the 2 step aside to allow the pilgrims through. Both guards keep their eyes on Wukong with both curiosity and bewilderment. After they pass, the demons can hear the guards whisper
"He looks like-"
"Hush! Do not compare the two! She is divine and he is nothing but trouble!"
"Spread word of their arrival-"
The 3 glance at each other in confusion. Pigsy snorts "I think they're talking about brother monkey!" Wujing nods and Wukong rolls his eyes.
"But who were they comparing him to? Surely there is no other monkey demon born from stone?" Wujing questions and flips through one of his many books.
Wukong lets out a tsk "What's it matter? It's none of our business. The only thing we should worry about is if this village isn't as peaceful as it looks. Besides, they never said 'she' is a monkey born from a rock. Just that I resemble her in some way. Don't jump to conclusions."
Wujing nods and looks up from his book. "I agree, brother. We have not had great luck with that over our journey."
Pigsy huffs "Never a village without a problem. I bet this 'deity' those guards spoke of isn't all that great and is actually an evil creature."
Wukong smirks at this "if that's the case we'll just do what we always do; take it down."
Tripitaka, who leads the horse by its reins up front, looks over his shoulder at his disciples. "What are you 3 speaking of?" The demons in question shake their heads and Wukong leaps ahead and turns to Tripitaka
"Nothing master, just useless banter." He reassures and Tripitaka nods as they look around for an inn. The villagers have already heard of their arrival and are looking on with worry, some fear, and curiosity at the pilgrims. The village itself is silent as the people stop their previous activities and turn to see who has entered the village.
A little ball suddenly rolls out in front of Wukong causing him to stop. A little girl around the age of 10 dressed in a cream colored top, a green skirt, and shoulder length black hair runs out to grab the ball before any of the adults could stop her. Tripitaka, Pigsy, and Wujing also stop to see why Wukong isn't moving. The monkey reaches down and grabs the ball before she can grab it and she looks up at him confused.
"Can I please have my ball?" She speaks and makes a grabbing motion towards the ball. Wukong raises an eyebrow and bends down to her level. He glances at the other villagers who are watching in anticipation before turning to the little girl.
"What's your name, kid?" He asks in a low voice and Tripitaka watches carefully. The little girl places her hands together and bows her head
"I am Jiki Luno. Daughter of the temple's caretaker." She introduces and Tripitaka steps forward with a bow of his own
"I see. Is your father a monk?" Jiki looks up at him and tilts her head
"I don't have a papa. Mama is a priestess though." The group exchange glances and Wukong gives a huff
"I'm surprised a little thing like you is the first to speak to us so far other than those two guards. Are you not afraid?" He says gruffly in an attempt to scare her. The girl looks even more confused. "Why should I be scared of someone who looks like Lady Fa Yingyue?"
This throws them all off guard. The area is silent for a moment before Wujing clears his throat "Jiki, could you please direct us to an inn? We are travelers passing through and need a place to rest." By this point, the villagers have gone back to their day after ensuring Jiki was safe. Jiki shakes her head.
"We don't have an inn since we don't get many travelers, but mama and I would gladly let you stay in the temple with us! You’re a monk, so I'm sure mama won't mind!" She says happily. Wukong hands her the ball which she gladly accepts and stands up to look amongst his companions. He looks to Tripitaka as if awaiting his word.
Tripitaka nods his head and bows to Jiki "we would be most honored."
Jiki laughs and runs off "C'mon! It's getting late, and Lady Fa Yingyue will be protecting us from demons!" She says excitedly and the group follows behind her closely.
The village is small, but prospering in health and materials. Overall, the village looks peaceful save for the fact some of the villagers are setting up for the night to keep unwanted visitors out. Pigsy walks closer to the front "Hey Jiki, what's with the talk of demons and all the villagers setting up like this?"
Jiki continues on with a smile "Demons have been attacking our village for many centuries. We are fortunate to have Lady Fa Yingyue, but she advises us to keep our homes closed at night in case a demon wanders past her. However, things have been off recently, more demons seem to have entered the village at night. She always makes quick work of them before sunrise and before they can damage anything, but it's still concerning."
She leads the group up a mossy, stone staircase to a beautiful wooden temple with talismans decorating the pillars and entrance. She opens the door to reveal an open space with some flowers, fruits, and other offerings on a table near the far back. Behind the table sits a statue of what appears to be a female monkey similar to Wukong.
Tumblr media
Jiki steps forward and bows to the statue after lighting some incense. The horse finds a nice spot outside to lay down as the group enters.
Tripitaka steps forward and pays his respects as well, even though greatly confused. "Is this your deity?" He asks the little girl. She stands up and nods.
"This is the Sacred Stone temple, home to the great deity Fa Yingyue. She is our protector from the heavens." She explains and Wukong leaps forward to get a closer look at the statue.
"Wukong, please step away from the statue. We would not want harm to come to it." Tripitaka advises and Wukong glances at him.
"Why does she look like me, kid?" He demands.
Before Jiki can respond, another voice cuts in. "She is a stone monkey born many centuries ago. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you both were under the same circumstances of birth. Born from a stone atop a mountain and grew to obtain great powers. And last I checked, there should be no visitors at this time." Everyone turns towards the annoyed voice to see a woman dressed in a hanfu dress like Jiki's but light blue. The woman's long black hair flows to her waist and a section at the top is tied with a silver ribbon. Oh her hip, she carries a basket of herbs and vegetables.
Jiki laughs and runs to the woman "Mama your back!" She says, hugging her mother's leg.
Tripitaka steps forward and bows his head to her. "Our apologies for the sudden visit, but we seek shelter for the night and a place to rest. We would be most grateful if you allow us to spend 3 nights here."
The woman looks Tripitaka over "Huh… so, you are the pilgrims the village speaks of? Tales of your journey have spread far and wide enough to reach even our small village within this forest. I am Ming Luno, keeper of the temple and mother of Jiki. We have 2 spare rooms, but I will need a moment to clear them up so you may rest. When morning arrives, we will talk." She says with a bow. She walks over to a door to the far left of the statue and looks over her shoulder. "Jiki, keep an eye on our guests. No one is to leave past this hour. If I find that any of you were wandering outside at night I will have to send you off. Understood?" She says sternly to which the pilgrims nod and bow their heads.
She leaves the room with her basket and Jiki turns to them with bright, curious eyes. Before anyone can utter a word, she rushes off and disappears behind the statue.
Pigsy sits on the floor with a plop and Wujing sets his bag down. Wukong is still glaring at the statue in confusion. Tripitaka examines the room and sighs "Wukong, tell us what troubles you? You seem quite bewildered at the statue." Wukong turns to Tripitaka and drops his head a little as his tail flicks with irritation.
"It's nothing… just wondering why I didn't know about someone born just like me…" he says quietly. He gets closer to the statue and taps its head with his staff.
"Brother, I believe it is but a normal statue rather than the deity. I can sense no possible life from it." Wujing states as he flips through his books and scrolls. "I have nothing on me that holds information over Lady Fa Yingyue." He says regretfully and Tripitaka walks to stand behind Wukong.
"Let's see if the villagers can tell us more about her. If she were born the same as you, there's bound to be a known reason why you haven't heard of her." He says reassuringly and Wukong glances at the group before huffing and turning his back to the statue.
Not a moment later, Jiki runs back holding a small Jianzi. Everyone turns their attention to her as she starts to kick it into the air and keep it from falling to the ground. They watch as she laughs joyfully and skillfully kicks the toy into the air. She kicks it towards the group and it makes its way to the ground. Before it can hit the floor however, a furry foot catches and balances it on his toes. Wukong looks from the Jianzi to the girl and seems to get the hint as he kicks it back to her. She catches it on her own foot and tosses it back to him after alternating feet. The game goes back and forth and Wukong eventually takes the girls' tricks as a challenge and does some of his own. Tossing it from foot to foot and over his own head to catch it with a back kick before kicking it back to Jiki who catches it by letting it bounce off her forehead. She catches it with her foot and laughs as Wukong's companions clap at their small game.
Pigsy gets up "That looks easy! Pass it to me!" He says and Jiki happily complies, kicking it into the air and giving it a good kick in his direction. Pigsy tries to catch it with his foot, but his gut gets in the way. The Jianzi bounces off his belly and flies high into the air as everyone watches to see where it'll land. Before it can hit the ground however, it is caught by the foot of Ming who kicks it upwards and into her hand.
"I think that's enough playtime for tonight. Off to bed, Jiki." She says sternly and Jiki whines "But maaaamaaaaa! We were having fuuuun! And you don't play with me all that much anymore!"
She pouts and Tripitaka chuckles. "You have truly been blessed with a lively child." Ming looks over and nods with a kind smile.
"She can be quite the handful sometimes. I hope she hasn't caused you any inconvenience?" She questions looking over everyone.
Tripitaka shakes his head "She has been an angel. I must say I enjoyed watching their little game of Jianzi. Judging by how you caught it with skills similar to Jiki's, I assume you taught her to play?"
Ming nods "I showed her at a young age when she saw the village children play it. I used to play it with a friend of mine when I was younger, so I had no problem teaching her. On another note…" she changes the subject and looks down to Jiki who remains pouting. "Go to bed, Jiki." The little girl huffs and shakes her head as Wukong lets out a short, amused chuckle.
"Nah, bed times for losers, huh?" He jokes and Jiki looks at him with a happy nod as Ming sends him a quick glare.
She turns back to Jiki "Go to bed now, or you won't be playing tomorrow. I will hide all your toys." Jiki looks back with a shocked expression and runs to latch onto her mother's legs
"No! I'll be good! Don't hide my toys!"
Ming rolls her eyes and bends down to kiss her daughter's forehead and give her a tight hug before allowing Jiki to run off to her room. She then turns to the group and gives a small bow. "Follow me." She says and walks down the hallway with them all following. Wukong takes one last glance at the statue of Lady Fa Yingyue before turning back to follow his companions.
Ming comes up to 2 doors at the end of the hall right across from each other. The door on the far end holds a Yin and Yang carved into the wood. "My daughter and I sleep in that room if you need anything. Select your rooms from these 2 and get some rest. I wish to speak with you all at breakfast tomorrow. I will not take no for an answer."
Tripitaka nods his head and holds his hands in prayer. "We are most grateful for your hospitality. May the gods guard our dreams." Ming's nods and enters her room, closing the door behind her.
Pigsy goes to the room on the left. "I don't care who rooms with me. There's a promise of food in the morning, so I'm going to sleep." He grunts and goes in. Tripitaka goes to the door on the right without a word and Wujing follows after him leaving Wukong to go into the room on the left with Pigsy.
As they settle in for the night, the travelers remain in ignorant bliss as the village fills with demons and a single warrior fights them off under the cover of midnight. The only thing someone would see of them is a moon-lit silhouette and a pair of blazing, orange eyes.
Bonus! Here's a picture of Ming and Jiki. Sorry, I really suck at describing people 😅

HiB Sequel/Au Ideas
I have a lot of thoughts on Monkey King: Hero is Back, and I've complied most of them here. It has such a fascinating concept, especially in regards to how the timeline of "Journey to the West" has been permanently altered by Hundun/Chaos.
Timeline changes cus of Events in Story:
Sun Wukong/Dasheng is pretty much "on probation" since he busted out early + asks for a huge favor from the gods at the end of HiB. Guanyin is the one to agree to change the headband to the armlet/chain cuff/buddha ankle-monitor. SWK might get it removed if he stays on good behavior.
Jiang Liuer (same name as the Tang Monk/Tripitaka when he was young), is a small child + dies at the hand of Hundun, but is somehow revived by the credits. Oddly enough, he's said by the production team to be the Ninth Cicada rather than the Tang Monk's Tenth. Maybe literally dying counted as a -1 life? The tie-in videogame shows it more clearly; Dasheng was involved in Liuer's revival and is shown begging/threatening the gods in the credit art, holding Liuer in his arms.
Zhu Bajie isn't married (yet). He also is probably lying about what he did to reincarnate as a pig demon.
Fa Ming is a cool af old man who isn't even tied to any big mythos character. Just a really cool mortal buddhist who went "Hey, free grandson!" when Liuer floated down the river in the prologue.
Sha Wujing has likely *just* been kicked out of heaven. According to a comment by the films director, this version of Sha Wujing may be fem.
Ao Lie has yet to set his dad's house on fire. Might do it on accident in future. Was a real bro and helped SWK get to Hundun during their battle. And according to the credits to the videogame, helped return many of the kidnapped children to their parents.
Theories:
Sha Ya Tou/"Silly Girl" is actually the Red Child/Hong Hai'er. She was kidnapped prior to the story by Hundun's forces to act as the flame for the furnace. Hence her extreme luck, lack of fear, taste for rare meat, and her little "horn" ponytails. If Hundun had pushed his luck, he would have had a Syndrome vs Jack-Jack situation on his hands. Her parents are currently very worried and tearing every village apart trying to find her.
Hundun/Chaos is literally an avatar of the Great Peril, but he loses his identity when he reverts back to the Original Hundun. His ritual was so he could maintain/prolong his humanoid form. He's sacrificed human children before in similar rituals, and initially set his sights on Liuer (the current Golden Cicada) as a baby for this goal - but assumed him lost/dead after Liuer's birth family were slaughtered.
The "mountain trolls/yaoguai" arent inherently evil, but they follow whoevers the strongest. Hence why they started cheering for SWK when he began overpowering Hundun.
Fic things under Read More:
Potiential Fic Timeline:
LEM has already made a name for themselves by hunting humans that prey on demons, and by spreading the tale of their thought-to-be-lost friend Sun Wukong. Then a Stone Egg smashes down next to him one day just after a solar eclipse. Coincidence? >:3
Meanwhile, Sun Wukong is busy beating down the door to the Underworld wanting his son/tudi/friend/ pest back. The Kings of Hell are hesistant to do anything cus you know, until...
King Yama, uninterested: "Gee, thats a tall order. Buuuut death is a mortal inevitablity, and you're still supposed to be under the mountain so..." Guanyin, phases in: "The child is the Golden Cicada." All the Kings of Hell: "HE'S WHAT!?" "Sweet buddha, get that kid's soul back in there pronto!" "He's not suppose to be dead yet!" Dasheng: *gives Guanyin a thumbs-up* "thanks" Guanyin: "Don't think you get off scott-free, sage. You're still supposed to be getting punished." Dasheng: *nervous gulp as he accepts his fate* *the chain cuff from the mountain is slapped back on Dasheng's wrist* Guanyin: "However, your actions towards this little monk has succesfully reduced your sentence. I believe as long as you stay by him, you won't run into too much trouble" *cheeky wink* Dasheng, relieved: "I suppose I could do a lot worse."
Liuer is able to be revived, but is in a comatose state for around 49 days as his soul internally "reincarnates". In this state he manages to pass on messages between SWK and an "unknown warrior" (LEM) via their dreams.
Pigsy, SWK, Fa Ming, and the newly-welcomed Ao Lie spend a lot of time reuniting the stolen children with their families.
Fa Ming bonds with SWK over the weeks caring for the cometose Liuer. SWK is reminded of Master Subodhi and gets wistful. Fa Ming entrusts SWK to care for Liuer when he's gone. SWK agrees, but is internally panicking.
Bonus complication; Silly Girl's parents have yet to be found. And even with his weakened powers, Dasheng's gold-vision tells him that she's not what she seems...
One night, Liuer manages to convey to SWK that Mount Huaguo is under attack by hunters. SWK in his haste; bundles all of his new little troop onto the Sommersault Cloud and flies towards Mount Huaguo.
SWK goes to rescue his missing/captured subjects from the main hunters camp. He finds the hunters already being torn apart by LEM. They have a mutual "oh shit, its my old crush/best friend I thought died in the war"-moment. Liuer reveals himself to be awake at the very end of the encounter.
Both monkeys see eachother alive + a kid (SWK and Liuer, LEM and the Stone Egg) and a romantic comedy ensues. Until...
Guanyin: "Hey gang, sorry to burst your bubble. But the big guys upstairs are a little peeved. Seems like the manifestation of primordial chaos messing with things on earth, has literally thrown the entire timeline off course. The Buddha needs you to check in on places where chaos is at it's most rampant. Don't worry about directions, I'll cc them to the little cicada. Ok? Byyyeeee!" *leaves* The whole gang: "wut." Liuer, eyes glowing: "We should go westward." Dasheng, groaning: "And I just got back home!"
+Stone Egg Bonus:
Tumblr media
After seeing the poster for the upcoming prequel to HiB, I have determined that the baby monkey inside the egg would most likely be born/hatched out with white/cream-coloured fur and very fluffy. Therefore I will declare this little "MK" variant; Xiaoyún/小云 (Little Cloud).

thoughts abt latest tr chap!
Hi anon! Was it rushed? Probably yes! Did I love it? Sure it's the best we could ask for, of course there are things to point out like:
Tumblr media
Baji Revival Arc doesn't mean that Chifuyu and Mitchy aren't still friends, same goes for Doramai
Wakui created a whole bunch of top tier characters, I would have prefered them to be explained giving them at least one chapter to each one of them, I mean I don't get the rush to end everything.
There are plot holes because of this, but Wakui explained everything to us so I can get why he’s already ending it. Of course I'm sad but I can't say I'm not glad that he created this fantastic piece.
About the time leap and all that lead Maitake to create the perfect Toman and not show us what and how they brought all the characters especially the s-62 on their side I'm a bit disappointed, same goes for Kisaki, how did mitchy managed to handle him not becoming the cruel Kisaki we always knew?
I guess we won't have answers unless he will say something in new characthers book or some interview, let's hope for some spinoff like Bajifuyu!
