Red Hair or Red Nose? - Part 5
This is the last SFW part of the story - depending on your decision I will continue with either all three of them being very infatuated by each other or Y/n choosing one companion for the night. ;) We can also make her strong and independent and let her go back to the ship - I am open to any suggestions.
Enjoy the 5th part of the story! <3
PS. Sorry for being too lazy to put the link to the other parts and thank you all again for reading.

"Yeah, what if...?" After what feels like an eternity, Shanks finally responds. He abruptly halts the movement of the three of you, tightening his arms around you and creating a barrier between you and Buggy. In the midst of the stumble, he guides you gently but firmly against a corner of a nearby building.
"I can assure you, I'm a better kisser than the clown over there..." Shanks whispers, his words resonating close to your face, intentionally loud enough for Buggy to hear. Your heart races in your chest as the unexpected turn of events unfolds.
With Shanks now in such close proximity, he leans in and begins to kiss you, his lips pressing gently against yours. Caught off guard by the alcohol-induced haze and the surprise of his actions, you find yourself momentarily paralyzed, unable to react as the warmth of his lips meets yours.
In that electrifying moment, you find yourself reciprocating the kiss with equal fervor. Shanks' tongue delicately dances along your lips, his movements both cautious and resolute, ensuring that he doesn't cause any harm. He is convinced that this intimate exchange will make you feel as if you're melting away, and he's proven right.
A rush of sensations floods your body, weakening your knees once again, while a fiery heat ignites within your stomach, mirroring the intensity visible in Shanks' eyes. Your excitement is palpable, making it difficult to catch your breath. Grateful that he has you pressed against the wall, your arms raised, you desperately restrain yourself from fiercely embracing him, fearful that you might reveal just how much you crave for him and his body.
Immediately Buggy's outrage flares up, and his disconnected hands, empowered by the devil fruit, find their way back to you. With a forceful grip, he cups your face, abruptly halting the kiss and pushing your head to the side. Before he forces you to meet his gaze, you catch a glimmer of satisfaction in Shanks' eyes. It becomes evident that he not only enjoyed the kiss but relished Buggy's jealousy even more.
"I'll be damned if this monkey can kiss better than me," Buggy exclaims, his voice laced with determination. "Normally, I wouldn't touch anything that his lips have touched, but I believe it's time to prove a point...!"
Now standing beside both of you, Buggy positions himself as an active participant. Shanks willingly releases his hold with a grin, as if he's thoroughly entertained. Caught between these two captivating figures, you feel like a playball, too weak, intimidated, and excited to move. The tension in the air is palpable as the dynamic between them intensifies, and you find yourself drawn deeper into their entangled game. You cannot stop smiling, somehow you are still enjoying yourself.
Buggy forcefully pushes Shanks away, retracting his hands back to his body. With a surge of determination, he takes control, pressing his body against yours. In an exhilarating moment, a mixture of surprise and excitement escapes your lips in a shrill shriek before Buggy's mouth meets yours.
His kiss is passionate and fervent, though slightly sloppy. The intensity of the moment eclipses any lack of finesse, and his stubble grazes against your skin, adding an intoxicating sensation. Lost in the embrace, you surrender yourself to the magnetic pull of this man. The heat emanating from his body envelops you, their closeness creating an irresistible connection. The taste of heaven and rum lingers on his lips, leaving you longing for more, captivated by the sensations coursing through your being.
Breathless he draws away from you, leaving you breathless just as Shanks did. "So, sweet cakes, who was better?" he playfully inquires, his eyes gleaming mischievously, leaving the decision in your hands.

that fuckin post from a week or so ago about "oh haha did u guys really think the whole Buggy Clown One Piece Promo on Tumblr was some kinda Sleeper agent Tumblr plan to Betray the Writers Strike" shit still haunts me.
The Actual Reasons Why the Assault of ads like that one on the website (specifically the One Piece shit) is that they're another sign that whoever is in charge and making decisions does Not Give a Shit about actual website design or Layout and is reaching the point where they'll take up empty space with more Forced Ads.
They're whole-hog leaning into the (not commonly remembered due to the prevalence of Adblocker plug-ins) Ad Assault format of web design, where literally any empty space is dedicated to ads that, at best, just waste UI space that could go towards actual functional website features, and at worst, actively cause harm, whether through intentionally malicious design (Ads that launch you to another website or force downloads if you click on them, for example), or through "uninformed" "unintentional" design, like potentially triggering users with visual issues (as seen with Buggy the Clown).
For a very long time, Tumblr has been respectably restrained in their ad usage, at least on the website (or, at least until I started just Ublocking everything). A single header of "Here's this Hot Thing we're getting paid to promote" that only shows up at the top of your dashboard is annoying, but not a deal breaker, and was the standard since literally like 2013.
Now all of a sudden, a website that was formerly 60% Empty Space (a Problem, but not necessarily a Bad Problem) has had that space monopolized by purely ad-driven content, between the forced Pop-up One Piece Netflix shit and all the other bloated, pointless garbage that only exists to hopefully try an extract any money out of either you or your data as possible.

Assignment 3 Post Mortem
Overall, it is quite evident that our game GrappleMania! received a number of positive comments, however, it also received various beneficial feedback that we could use to improve the game in the future. We can conclude from the playtest findings that our game is heading on the right track as currently, all the playtest participants found our game addicting, fun, and engaging.
If we were to fully complete the game, a number of aspects need to be included. These are as followed:
A fully fleshed out campaign mode (20+ levels). A feature to save their progress.
Several more power ups - Score multiplier: when this is active, each gem collected will be multiplied by a value. - Invulnerability: when this is active, players aren’t able to be harmed by obstacles such as missiles. Players will also bounce off the rock walls. - Mini-plane: when this is active, players will shrink in size, making it harder to get hit by missiles but also harder to collect gems. - Maxi-plane: when this is active, players will grow in size, making it easier to get hit by missiles and to collect gems. - Massive speed up: when this is active, players are going insanely fast, making it hard to control.
More audio - Game background music - Grapple noises - Incoming missile sounds - Menu music and sounds - Noises and Music depending on whether the user achieved a high score or not (endless game mode)
UI - A more obvious health bar (playtesters didn't notice it at first) - Improved Gem Counter - Pause Menu - Improved "How to Play" menu
Settings System
A High Score system for the endless game mode
A proper tutorial system: playtesters found it confusing and overwhelming when they first started playing.
Adjustments to the grapple mechanic - it can be a bit buggy sometimes.
Ultimately, I am happy with how the final prototype turned out and the praise that it received. Adding all of these aspects shown above and most likely even more would improve the game and player experience greatly.

ATVs and sand buggies are allowed to operate on dunes in the park and in a larger dune area just outside of the boundaries. That spot is quite photogenic.Ī sand dune area extends down to the water and the reservoir has sandy beaches. Red sandstone formations protrude from the water near the marina. The park is open year-round and is a popular spot for winter camping. Concessionaires rent boats, watercraft, skis, boards and other items. Sand Hollow is a popular Utah State Park with very nice facilities including a paved boat ramp, docks, campground, restrooms and RV sites. Sand Hollow also offers a few bluegill, black crappie, sunfish and black bullhead.ġ8 miles east of St George, south of I-15, off Hyw 9. The largemouth usually begin to spawn in late April and that provides some of the best action of the year. As temperatures cool in September, fishing often becomes hot and stays good until the water gets cold. Action picks up in March and is good through May, then slows a bit during the hot months. Sand Hollow is one of Utah's best reservoirs for largemouth and it offers a good number of large fish. Our best success came using a crawdad style, between sundown and dark. We caught fish by working plastic jigs into the rocks along the dam. "As long as you don't get that secondary bacteriological infection it should go away on its own over time," he added.Īffected lakes and ponds typically have signage posted warning people of infected waters, but Harker said to check local health department websites for active warnings before you head out.We fished Sand Hollow on Oct 3, 2019, and found good action for largemouth bass. If you do find yourself with the rash, Harker said over the counter anti-itch lotions and avoiding scratching are the best ways to treat it. "Or even better if you can shower right afterwards those things can help prevent it." "At least towel dry afterwards," he said. Read - Utah park warns of visitors experiencing 'Swimmer's Itch' Harker recommends taking a few steps any time you swim in a shallow body of water. The best way to avoid swimmer's itch is to avoid swimming in affected lakes or ponds, but it can be difficult for the state to keep on top of which bodies of water have active infestations. "If you were to scratch it and you were to get a secondary bacterial infection as a result of that, then that could be something you might need to get medical attention for," Harker said. He added that the parasite and rash themselves are typically not harmful to humans, but it's best to avoid touching or scratching the rash as it could lead to bigger problems. "You hear different reports of small reddish pimples, small blisters, tingling, burning, and itching of the skin," Harker said,

The bird passes the parasite's eggs through its feces, and it is then consumed by water snails, which again passes them through its feces and the mature parasite can then burrow in the skin causing an allergic reaction ranging from mild to severe. Read - Lifeguards honored for lifesaving rescue at Payson pool "It's looking for a different host than humans, but if humans are there then it can burrow into the skin causing that rash which itches, thus swimmer's itch," Harker added. Swimmer's itch is caused by a microscopic parasite found in many water birds. "Hot temperatures and shallow waters seem to increase the likelihood of it," he said. The Bear River Health Department is asking the public to avoid swimming in the Mantua Reservoir and 'The Pond' at Willard Bay.īen Harker with the Bear River Health Department said the extreme heat and drought impacting 98 percent of the state could be a contributing factor to an increase in infestations. The parasite that causes the rash can be more prevalent during times of high heat and drought. Andrew Ryan vs. Robert House
On almost every House post I make, someone in the notes will reliably reference Andrew Ryan. I totally get it - they look similar, they're based on the same guy, the parallels are so clear that the NV dev team added an achievement for killing House with a golf club - but I think these commonalities tend to engulf both characters, blotting out some of their more interesting ideological/personal differences. It's useful to examine them in relation to one another, but part of that is figuring out what distinguishes them, which is just what I’ve attempted to do.
It's difficult for me to talk about Randian objectivism because I don't think it's sound enough to address on its own terms, but considering this is the philosophy Andrew Ryan has adopted, I kind of have to. What I’d identify as the core premise of Randian ethics is this: altruism is a moral wrong. Some Randians have argued that isn't really what they believe - that the real point is anything resembling altruism is self-interest in disguise - but they're departing from the beliefs of their icon when they make those claims. Per Rand:
The irreducible primary of altruism, the basic absolute is self-sacrifice – which means self-immolation, self-abnegation, self-denial, self-destruction – which means the self as a standard of evil, the selfless as a standard of the good.
The way Rand defines altruism is by linking it to self-sacrifice, which she uses to differentiate it from kindness or benevolence. Aiding others at no cost to yourself is benevolent, but not altruistic, and therefore not evil. Sacrificing your happiness to help another human being is, from Rand's perspective, evil, as is any philosophy that prioritizes the other at the cost of the self. This whole idea has been broadly rejected by most scholars on account of it being really fucking stupid. What justifies the leap from "man is naturally selfish" to "selfishness is good"? If selfishness is moral, wouldn't the most moral behavior be to exploit others through whatever means necessary, favoring force over the market? Rand defines happiness as "using your mind’s fullest power," achievable only when you "do not consider the pleasure of others as the goal," but why is this the only definition? What if your only options are self-sacrificial in nature? How do you weigh them if neither sacrifice is linked to values, individual achievement, or "your mind's fullest power" at all? Rand didn't care because she was too busy trying to ethically justify cheating on her man with her best friend's husband, but nonetheless, this is the philosophy Andrew Ryan’s adopted. He claims that "Altruism is the root of all Wickedness," in what's almost a direct quote from Rand herself.
To that end, Ryan builds a system that doesn’t just accept selfishness but actively incentivizes it. Every other principle he expresses is subservient to the ideas that selfishness rules man, and that for Ryan to act on his own selfish impulses is the highest good in the world. His lesser political principles (individual liberties, negative rights, the creation of a stateless society) don’t matter to him as much as the central precept from which they stem: that selfishness is his moral imperative.
What is the greatest lie every created? What is the most vicious obscenity ever perpetrated on mankind? Slavery? The Holocaust? Dictatorship? No. It's the tool with which all that wickedness is built: altruism.
It doesn't come as a particular surprise to me when he starts imprisoning dissidents or executing rivals or banning theft (standard practice in most societies, but not what an egoist would pursue; if you can get away with taking it, you deserve to have it, or so the thinking goes). I’ve seen him described as a hypocrite, but I don’t think that’s necessarily true considering everything he does is in line with his opposition to altruism. He'll adhere to his other principles only if they don’t sabotage his pursuit of personal power. This is evident in the fact that he only adopts a negative perception of Fontaine when his own interests are threatened, but doesn’t give two shits what Fontaine might be doing to sow conflict and harm people before that point. A guy named Gregory asks Ryan to step in against Fontaine early on before Fontaine's fully established himself as a threat to Ryan's power, and Ryan's extremely blase about it.
Don't expect me to punish citizens for showing a little initiative. If you don't like what Fontaine is doing, well, I suggest you find a way to offer a better product.
Contrast this with how he reacts when Fontaine has risen as a genuine business rival. This is from the log titled "Fontaine Must Go."
Something must be done about Fontaine. While I was buying buildings and fish futures, he was cornering the market on genotypes and nucleotide sequences. Rapture is transforming before my eyes. The Great Chain is pulling away from me.
This double standard is the natural outgrowth of his prioritization of self-interest. If your most deeply-held belief is that you should never give up your interests for others, ancillary rules become flexible in times of personal crisis, and Bioshock makes the case that putting someone like that in charge of a city will leave you with a crumbling, monstrous ruin.
Superficially, House has some similarities. Ryan executes political rivals; House has you blow up a bunker of his ideological opponents. Ryan is the highest authority in Rapture; House is the absolute monarch of Vegas. Their goals and moral codes, though, are almost diametrically opposed. When you ask House why you’re expected to trust him when he’s openly admitting to installing himself as the despot of the New Vegas Strip, he says this:
I have no interest in abusing others... Nor have I any interest in being worshipped as some kind of machine-god messiah. I am impervious to such corrupting ambitions.
Most of his resources are devoted to large-scale, impersonal projects, aimed either at building the power of Vegas or securing his long term goal of “progress” as he sees it. He’s rejected selfishness as a moral good because House is very far from Randian objectivism. He's a Hobbesian monarch.
In that respect, he shares an outlook on human nature with Ryan that I deeply disagree with (that human beings are essentially selfish), but in terms of what that means for the structure of a utopian society, House takes a very different position. From his perspective, human nature breeds suffering, not industriousness, and the only way to stamp out conflict - and, in a post-nuclear age, ensure the continued survival of the human race - is through a strong sovereign. The purpose of a state as laid out in Leviathan aligns very, very closely with the one House expresses.
...the foresight of their own preservation, and of a more contented life thereby; that is to say, of getting themselves out from that miserable condition of war which is necessarily consequent, as hath been shown, to the natural passions of men...
The monarch's successes are reflected in his society and the well-being of humanity as a whole. To subvert his goals is to subvert society's goals, and to doom humanity to the war, death, and suffering that exist in a state of nature. When you destroy his Securitrons/kill him, he doesn't plead for himself or get offended on his own behalf. He accuses you of betraying not him, but mankind.
Single-handedly, you've brought mankind's best hopes of forward progress crashing down. No punishment would be too severe. Fool... to let... personalities... derail future... of mankind? ...Stupid! Slavery... the future of... mankind? What... have you... done?
An important corollary of this idea which again distinguishes House from Ryan appears in Leviathan’s description of the political/moral responsibility of a monarch to his subjects:
...that great Leviathan, or rather, to speak more reverently, of that mortal god to which we owe, under the immortal God, our peace and defence. For by this authority... he hath the use of so much power that, by terror thereof, he is enabled to form the wills of them all, to peace at home, and mutual aid against their enemies abroad.
Hobbes and House give the monarch virtually unlimited power but match it to the monarch's duty, which he lives to fulfill. His obligation is to speak for the people, act for them, and protect them from all threats, internal and external. House generally abides by this, orienting his decisions around his goals for society irrespective of the personal cost (the negative consequences of his actions are a product of his fucked evaluations of what’s best for society, not personal greed). It’s not just a departure from Ryan’s philosophy but a complete refutation of it. He's almost died for what he's misidentified as the greatest good.
Given that I had to make do with buggy software, the outcome could have been worse. I nearly died as it was…. I spent the next few decades in a veritable coma.
This is not the behavior of an egoist. This is the behavior of an extremely arrogant but marginally altruistic (from a Randian perspective lmao) guy. This is some distorted “from each according to his ability” shit if you’ve managed to convince yourself your abilities exceed those of everyone else who has ever lived and that you can get the Mandate of Heaven by being really good at statistics.
The reason these guys develop such similar structures and hierarchies despite the ideological gulfs between them is because both of them are elitists who’ve experienced a massive failure of self-consciousness. They’re unable to conceive of other people as being fundamentally like them. Ryan separates people into the clearly-delineated classes of “producer” and “parasite,” ignoring the fact that everything he’s ever “produced” was reliant on a huge, coordinated effort between workers, architects, accountants, middlemen, and others, all of whom, in conjunction, contributed more to the realization of his dreams that he ever could have alone. Rather than realizing his own position is more parasitic and reliant on other people’s labor than that of anyone else in Rapture, he adheres to his doctrine of selfishness even when it’s not reflective of reality and is ruining the the lives of an entire city of people. He deludes himself into believing he’s a superman among ants instead of one flawed man who is reliant on the goodwill of others to help him survive, as are we all.
House, too, thinks he’s exceptional. Unlike Ryan, he acknowledges the necessity of the worker to a functioning society, but while he’ll accept his reliance on that labor, he doesn’t trust the laborer enough to share political power. House knows he’s invested in humanity’s survival and the creation of a better world, but he refuses to consider that he might not be alone in this goal. He chalks up the existence of the Legion to fanaticism/the ambitions of a sultanistic dictator and attributes everything the NCR has done to greed, without it ever occurring to him that the massive harm these nations have done was partially motivated by the same goals he’s devoted himself to - and that the atrocities he’s committed since his rise to power are, in some respects, very similar. House knows himself to be invested in the well-being of humanity, but he’s too arrogant to ask himself if his methods are wrong or trust other people to build a new path, one that doesn’t necessitate his complete control over the land and people of the Mojave. Ryan and House’s worldviews are distinct, and their flaws, as highlighted by their respective narratives, say some interesting things about how each set of devs view power and the pitfalls of elitism.
Anyway. If you put these two men in a room, they would probably try to murder each other, and I think that’s great.

The Right to Bear... ?
The 2nd Amendment has been one of the most scrutinized and debated part of the United States Constitution.  The 2nd Amendment reads:
“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of the free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
Many arguments against the populace owning guns is based on the “face value” of the Amendment itself. Meaning that the words in the clause are assumed to mean exactly how they read.  First, no laws ever mean exactly what they say.  Second, we do not use the same language that they used 200 years ago.  They are both English, but they are very different dialects.
Anyone who knows their American history knows that America did not have, nor want, a standing army. The first military entity was put together by John Adams many years after the addition of the Amendments.  Specifically, the Amendments were added as part of the Constitution in 1791. John Adams gained the presidency in 1797 and established his “temporary army” and shortly thereafter disbanded that army in 1800.  Therefore, it cannot be historically assumed that “militia” represents the national military as we have today.  The military we know today was not formed until the early 1900s in the face of World War I.
The inclusion of the 2nd Amendment as written was a result of the British implementation of the Militia Act of 1661 and the Game Act of 1671, both of which sought to limit or remove arms from the Americanized citizens.  The Federalists fought to include these Amendments to ensure the freedoms of the people, while the anti-Federalists argued that the Amendments gave the Federal Government too much power.  Why create Amendments regarding a subject that the Government has no right to oversee in the first place?  The original intent was to disable the government from passing any law to disarm the people as a whole.
Many argue that the citizens do not need to bear arms because we have a standing military. When America fought for Independence, we did so because the British government was controlling, abusing, and murdering the citizenry.  The tyranny over the people was suffocating the communities.  When the people of Boston began defending their freedoms, the Crown’s response was to remove the citizenry’s guns.  Without guns, the citizens could not fight.  The people having guns was a direct check on the government overreaching its authority.  Now consider that the government owns the military and that the government currently puts over 50% of the national budget into the military. If a time comes when the people must rise against the government, as was expected by our forefathers who rose against their government for freedom, the military will not be our allies.  With that being said, the citizenry will need their large magazines, their assault rifles, and so on.  The original Americans had CANONS!  How can you tell me that times are different and weapons are more dangerous now when they owned CANONS?  How many times have you visited a historical plantation and you have NOT seen a canon next to a buggy?  For those who haven’t seen this, you need to visit the south more often.
Many argue that guns are the reason that crime and violence rates are so high.  Guns are tools.  They are used to assist with the crime and violence.  But on their own, they are just an inanimate object.  Do they make crime and violence easier? Sure, but people will always find a way.  The United Kingdom banned guns in 1997.  London still has terrorists with guns and bombs.  At present, London’s murder rate is equal to that of New York.  The difference is that people are using knives instead.  Now the people call to remove points from all knives.  How far are we willing to go with this?
The FBI released a report on shooters based on the years of 2016 and 2017.  In those 2 years, there were 50 shooting “events.”  Of those 50, only 20 met the definition of a “mass killing.”  In 8 incidents the shooter was stopped by an armed citizen.  Imagine how many more criminals could be stopped if more law abiding citizens open carried.  The FBI clearly concludes that in the scenarios where citizens stopped the active shooter, they likely saved many lives.
I’m sure that any who are reading this that disagree with me are labeling me as an anarchist.  My rebuttal is that anarchy is representative of chaos, only modernly referred to as the result of a lack of government.  I do not want chaos and I think that government is necessary.  A small government, but that’s an argument for another day.
I’ll admit – I don’t like guns.  I don’t own one, never have, and never will.  I am clumsy and accident prone.  I’m slow and easily outwitted, especially in stressful situations.  I can admit that I would probably do more harm to myself than an oppressor.  With that being said, I fully support gun owners for safely and legally exercising a right that was fought for in our name.  After all, I can only think of a single incident where the active shooter legally owned his guns.  Most gun owners are respectful of the laws and careful with their weapons. Essentially, I won’t be that violent person in the uprising.  I guess it’s a matter of perspective regarding what participation entails.
As a person who supports guns, all guns, for the original intent that was laid out in the Constitution by our forefathers, what label does that give me?  I like to think that it labels me as a Federalist, a Constitutionalist, and most of all a Patriot.  After all, even if the enemies of my country are those from my country, they are still enemies of my country if they infringe on the rights that every man was born with.  As stated by Hamilton (Federalist #16), when people enlightened enough to distinguish between a legal exercise and an illegal usurpation of authority join as a people against a tyrannical government, they act as the defending body of the Constitution.

1SSH over USB using usbmuxd
1.1Using binary
SSH over USB using usbmuxd
You can either download a binary and run that or use a python script. The python script is a lot slower than the binary version. On Linux the python method is mostly deprecated, use the binary version provided by libimobiledevice. There is also a newer solution called gandalf.
Using binary
On Windows, ensure iTunes is installed, then download itunnel_mux_rev71.zip from Google Code. Unzip to a directory of choice.
On OS X and Linux, install usbmuxd from your package manager.
Then:
X-Proxy 6.2.0.4 add to watchlist send us an update. 4 screenshots: runs on: Windows 10 32/64 bit Windows 8 32/64 bit Windows 7 32/64 bit.
Windows: Run path/to/itunnel_mux.exe --iport 22 --lport 2222
OS X/Linux: iproxy 2222 22
Connect to localhost -p 2222 as you would over wifi.
If you have multiple devices connected, it may be useful to run multiple instances, specifying UDIDs and ports like so:
Making iproxy run automatically in the background on OS X
Install it with Homebrew (brew install libimobiledevice).
Create the file ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.usbmux.iproxy.plist with the contents:
Run launchctl load ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.usbmux.iproxy.plist.
You now don't have to run the iproxy binary every time you want to SSH over USB as the iproxy software is always running in the background.
If you have several devices you can create a daemon with a specific port for each one.
Create a file in ~/Library/LaunchAgents/ but name it using the device UDID, name or an identifier of your choice (like com.usbmux.iproxy.iPhone7,2.plist).
Replace UDID_HERE in the following snippet with the device UDID. The label should be unique and is best to match the filename you used.
Run launchctl load ~/Library/LaunchAgents/FILE_NAME_OF_YOUR_CHOICE.
You now don't have to run the iproxy binary every time you want to SSH over USB as the iproxy software is always running in the background.
Using python
Tested on OS X and Windows.
You will need to have Python installed on your system.
Get usbmuxd source package and unpack. (Or if the linked usbmuxd package doesn't work, try libusbmuxd.)
Go into folder python-client
chmod +x tcprelay.py
Run ./tcprelay.py -t 22:2222
Now you can log into your device via ssh mobile@localhost -p 2222
The -t switch tells tcprelay to run threaded and allow more than one ssh over the same port.
Proxy Download For Google Chrome
See ./tcprelay.py --help for further options.
Using gandalf
Tested on OS X and Linux, each with up to 29 devices connected at the same time. The advantage of using gandalf is that it is written in a functional programming language, which practically means that it won't give you seg faults and it is actively maintained https://github.com/onlinemediagroup/ocaml-usbmux
Installation
You need to have opam installed, it is OCaml's package manager.
On OS X you can do:
(If on Linux, then get opam via your package manager, details available https://opam.ocaml.org/doc/Install.html, Ubuntu users please pay attention, need to use a ppa for opam). It is important that your compiler is up to date, you cancheck with opam switch, make sure its at least >= 4.02.0
then
This will install the command line tool gandalf and an OCamllibrary.
gandalf usage.
Tumblr media
The following are a series of usages of gandalf, all short formarguments have long-forms as well and -v can be added at any time.
1) See with realtime updates what devices are connected
This will start up gandalf in listen mode, that is it will printout whenever a device connects or disconnects and more crucially it will print out the UDID of each device.
2) Start with a mapping file which is of the form
So an example mapping file would be:
and the gandalf invocation is:
2.1) You can also daemonize gandalf with the -d flag. *NOTE*: You might need to end up doing that under sudo as gandalf needs tomake a pid file under /var/run.
3) To see a pretty JSON representation of devices and their ports that are currently connected, do:
4) To reload gandalf with a new set of mappings, do:
This will cancel all running threads and reload from the originalmappings file, so make your changes there.
5) To cleanly exit gandalf, do: *NOTE* This might require super user permissions.
Check out the man page, accessible with:
or
Simple invocation:
Important Notes and Catches
1) If you are running this on Linux, then you might get issues withusbmuxd having issues when more than around 7 devices are pluggedin. This is because multiple threads are trying to call variouslibxml2 freeing functions. I have a forked version of libplistthat usbmuxd uses, sans the memory freeing calls. Its availablehere. Compile and install that, then compile and install usbmuxdfrom source. This will leak memory but its not that much at all andI believe it to be a fixed amount.
2) Another issue you might have is USB3.0. The Linux kernel might crapout on you after 13 devices. This is a combination of the kernelnot giving enough resources and the host controller on yourmotherboard being crappy. The solution to this problem is todisable USB3.0 in your BIOS. To verify that USB3.0 isn't workingcheck with lsusb
SSH over USB using the iFunBox GUI (Windows only)
This feature only exists in the Windows build of iFunBox.
Get the latest Windows build of iFunBox and install it.
Click on 'Quick Toolbox,' then 'USB Tunnel.'
Assign ports as you see fit.
SSH over USB using iPhoneTunnel Menu Bar Application (macOS only)
Turn Tunnel On
Tools -> SSH
Theos usage
Export the following variables in your shell in order to deploy builds to the connected device:
export THEOS_DEVICE_IP=localhost
export THEOS_DEVICE_PORT=2222
SSH without password
Run the following commands one time and you will not be asked to type your password again.
You must create an SSH key with ssh-keygen if you have not created one. A passphrase isn’t required but still recommended. You can use ssh-agentas described here to keep the passphrase in memory and not be prompted for it constantly.
Then run the following command:ssh-copy-id root@DEVICE_IP
On OS X, ssh-copy-id will need to be installed with brew install ssh-copy-id.

Q: What is checkra1n? A: checkra1n is a community project to provide a high-quality semi-tethered jailbreak to all, based on the ‘checkm8’ bootrom exploit.
Iproxy Download
Q: How does it work? A: Magic hax.
Proxy Download For Pc
Q: Why was the beta release delayed? A: We didn't want the release quality to end up like iOS 13.2, you deserve better.
Q: wen eta? A: bruh we're past that.
Q: How do I use it? A: Open the checkra1n app, and follow the instructions to put your device into DFU mode. Hax happens auto-magically from that point and the device will boot into jailbroken mode. If you reboot the device without checkra1n, it will revert to stock iOS, and you will not be able to use any 3rd party software installed until you enter DFU and checkra1n the device again.
Q: Ugh, I don't like GUI? A: Ok, you can use './checkra1n.app/Contents/MacOS/checkra1n -c' from the console, or download a Linux CLI build.
Q: Is it safe to jailbreak? Can it harm my device / wipe my data? A: We believe jailbreaking is safe and take precautions to avoid data loss. However, as with any software, bugs can happen and *no warranty is provided*. We do recommend you backup your device before running checkra1n.
Q: I have a problem or issue to report after jailbreaking. A: Many problems and bootloops can be caused by buggy or incompatible tweaks. Remember many tweaks never saw iOS 13 in the pre-checkra1n era. If you suspect a recently installed tweak, you may attempt to enter no-substrate mode by holding vol-up during boot (starting with Apple logo until boot completes). If the issue goes away, a bad tweak is very likely the culprit, and you should contact the tweak developers.
Q: I have a problem or issue to report and I don't think it's related to a bad tweak. A: Please check here and follow the bug report template.

Q: I lost my passcode. Can checkra1n decrypt my data or get access to a locked device? A: No.
Q: Can I ssh into my device? A: Yes! An SSH server is deployed on port 44 on localhost only. You can expose it on your local machine using iproxy via USB.
Q: I love the project! Can I donate? A: Thanks, we love it too! The project does not currently take any donations. If anyone asks for donations, it's a scam.

Q: Where are the sources? I want to write a dark-mode theme and publish the jailbreak as my own. A: checkra1n is released in binary form only at this stage. We plan to open-source later in 2020.

Q: When is Windows support coming? A: We need to write a kernel driver to support Windows (which is a very complex piece of code!) which will take time. Rest assured however, we are working hard on it.

1.3 Discussion: Borland Case Baseline Ethics
Getting Started
Someone with a degree in education, business, medicine, psychology, or law, can be familiar with the knowledge base of the profession, but may still act in a manner that is unethical and undermines the utility of that knowledge. It is important to learn the skill of ethical reasoning in addition to ethical principles. In this activity, you will being to examine situations that may or may not be ethical and evaluate the players and outcomes that occur because of chosen actions.
Upon successful completion of this discussion, you will be able to:
Define ethics and give examples of ethical decisions you make in your daily life.
Explain the levels of ethics and how they relate to human relations.
Explain how your ethics are developed both personally and in the workplace.
Examine the guidelines offered by the world and the Bible for ethical living.
Distinguish behavior accepted by those serving the world from behavior by those serving Christ.

Video: Our Buggy Moral Code
Background Information
Borland's Brave Beginning
Philipe Kahn, the colorful former CEO and current Chairman of Borland International built a powerful software company from the ground up with a series of brilliant business moves including the 1991 acquisition of Ashton-Tate, one of the software industries' biggest companies for $440 million. Until very recently, the company was extremely successful, culminating in the building a palatial headquarters complex costing nearly $100 million. At one point, Kahn even entertained thoughts of challenging Microsoft as the world's top software manufacturer. (1) While the company has recently fallen on hard times, its beginning is one that some would consider morally questionable while others would denote as being "smart moves within the game."
In an interview with Inc. Magazine in 1989, Kahn told the story of Borland's humble beginnings. Operating out of two small rooms and strapped for cash, he couldn't afford to place an ad in Byte magazine, the best forum to reach his target market. In order to convince the ad salesman to extend credit terms, Kahn hired "extra people" to scurry around and made sure the phones were ringing in order to look busy. He prepared a media plan on a chart in which Byte was crossed out but made sure the salesman "accidentally" saw the chart. When the salesman asked if they wanted to advertise in Byte, Kahn replied that it was not the right audience and that they couldn't afford it. The salesman pleaded and eventually gave good terms of credit.  The ad ran once and sold $150,000 worth of software, launching a successful venture.(2)

Briefly summarize the Borland Case.
The Borland Case is one to go down into the record books. The former CEO, and current board member of the company,  Philipe Kahn, when asked about how his company rose to prominence, by Inc. Magazine in 1989, he described how he created fake hype for the business. This enabled him to secure much needed press in the market he had to sell his products to.
Clearly identify and discuss each of the Four Levels of Ethical Issues from your reading in the Human Relations text that are present in the Borland case.
There are four main levels of ethical levels within organizations. Rao Rama, V. S. (2009, April 17). Four levels of ethics. Citeman Network, accessed February 24, 2012, http://www.citeman.com/5358-four-levels-of-ethical-questions-in-business.html The first level is societal issues. These are the top-level issues relating to the world as a whole, which deal with questions such as the morality of child labor worldwide. Deeper-level societal issues might include the role (if any) of capitalism in poverty, for example. Most companies do not operate at this level of ethics, although some companies, such as Tom’s Shoes, feel it is their responsibility to ensure everyone has shoes to wear. As a result, their “one for one” program gives one pair of shoes to someone in need for every pair of shoes purchased. Concern for the environment, for example, would be another way a company can focus on societal-level issues. This level of ethics involves areas of emotional intelligence we have discussed, specifically, an individual’s empathy and social awareness. Many companies take a stand on societal ethics in part for marketing but also in part because of the ethics the organization creates due to the care and concern for individuals.
Our second level of ethics is stakeholder’s issues. A stakeholder is anyone affected by a company’s actions. In this level, businesses must deal with policies that affect their customers, employees, suppliers, and people within the community. For example, this level might deal with fairness in wages for employees or notification of the potential dangers of a company’s product. For example, McDonald’s was sued in 2010 because the lure of Happy Meal toys were said to encourage children to eat unhealthy food.Jacobson, M. (2010, June 22). McDonald’s lawsuit: Using toys to sell Happy Meals, accessed February 24, 2012, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/michael-f-jacobson/mcdonalds-lawsuit-manipul_b_621503.html This is a stakeholder issue for McDonald’s, since it affects customers. Although the case was dismissed in April 2012,The Associated Press. (2012, April 5). Calif. judge dismisses suit against McDonald’s toys. USA Today, accessed June 4, 2012, http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/food/story/2012-04-05/mcdonalds-happy-meals-toys-lawsuit/54040390/1 the stakeholder issue revolves around the need for companies to balance healthy choices and its marketing campaigns.
The third level is the internal policy issue level of ethics. In this level, the concern is internal relationships between a company and employees. Fairness in management, pay, and employee participation would all be considered ethical internal policy issues. If we work in management at some point in our careers, this is certainly an area we will have extensive control over. Creation of policies that relate to the treatment of employees relates to human relations—and retention of those employees through fair treatment. It is in the organization’s best interests to create policies around internal policies that benefit the company, as well as the individuals working for them.
The last level of ethical issues is personal issues. These deal with how we treat others within our organization. For example, gossiping at work or taking credit for another’s work would be considered personal issues. As an employee of an organization, we may not have as much control over societal and stakeholder issues, but certainly we have control over the personal issues level of ethics. This includes “doing the right thing.” Doing the right thing affects our human relations in that if we are shown to be trustworthy when making ethical decisions, it is more likely we can be promoted, or at the very least, earn respect from our colleagues. Without this respect, our human relations with coworkers can be impacted negatively.
While I feel like the decision to be deceiving people was possibly wrong at a personal, internal, and stakeholders’ level, I do feel like it didn’t end up hurting anyone at the societal level! So, it could be viewed as being less harmful at the rest of the levels. Were the people who were in on the scheme hurt in any way, really? It seemed like the entire company ended up benefiting from the decision to deceive the salesperson. Not even the salesperson can feel that bad! Why? It’s because the salesperson ended up making money for the magazine! It was mutually beneficial for the companies, their employers, and even the buyer of the products!
I recognize that getting people to adopt a company’s values can be easier said than done, like is said in an Industryweek.com article. It does seem like Khan had luck in getting his employees to follow along with his scheme. If they wouldn’t have went along with it, he would have lost some colleagues and also lost potential friends he could rely on for business propositions.
They probably remained alongside him, because they didn’t have issues like what happened at Boeing’s North Charleston, South Carolina factory. According to an article from the New York Times, the management at the factory did nothing to fix the “shoddy production”. Because of the management not doing anything to fix the problem, Qatar Airways, a major customer, according to the NY Times article, had “notified Boeing that they wouldn’t accept shipments of airplanes from this facility”.
Honestly, I do feel like Kahn’s actions violated my fudge factor. I’ve tried to see beyond that. But, I have to recognize that he could have created a compelling case for selling his product to the salesperson. Being warm and inviting toward the salesperson could have helped to sell the story, and the product behind the story, in a much more ethical manner.
In review, the case showed a silver lining, even if Philipe Khan’s actions violated my fudge factor. This is because the actions didn’t hurt anyone at a societal level. I do believe the story, if you look at it from other levels, does create a situation where Khan put a lot of faith and trust in his employees, to get them to agree to lie to the salesperson to attempt to hustle their way toward the promotional coverage.

How sport has a part to play in destroying our planet
18 of the 19 warmest years have occurred since 2001.
In 2012, artic summer sea ice shrank to the lowest on record.
Global sea level rose 8 inches in the last century but in just the last two decades it has risen nearly double that.
Below is a graph from https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/ that shows the current carbon dioxide atmospheric level is at the highest it has ever been:
Tumblr media
What are the effects of the climate crisis for our lives?
Temperatures will continue to rise
Major cities will be submerged under water
Increase in floods, heat waves and droughts
Hurricanes will become stronger
You may be thinking I understand that we are in a climate crisis but how has our beloved sport got anything to do with it? Well in fact sport is and will be hugely impacted by the climate crisis and here’s how:
By the year of 2100 over 18 stadiums and major cities that host big sports events will be under water, due to increased temperatures the ski seasons are becoming shorter, in the Beijing 2008 Olympics doctors warned that athletes would undergo respiratory problems due to the air pollution but not just air pollution caused problems. In the Rio 2016 Olympic athletes who participated in outdoor water events suffered a 99% chance of infection if the athletes ingested only 3 teaspoons of the polluted water.
youtube
However, sport is not just the victim of the climate emergency we are facing but this huge industry that we all cherish is not so innocent and has huge negative environmental impacts. The Tokyo 2020 Olympics is anticipating seeing over 11,000 athletes and are expecting to sell over 9 million tickets, with this comes the huge carbon footprint that they will leave. In the 2018 Winter Olympics tens of thousands of trees were cut down, wildlife destroyed, and residents evicted to build the downhill ski slope which is ironic because skiers tend to take a pro-environment standpoint yet also leave a carbon footprint to get there and demolish (literally) the environment to ski. To add to the Olympics great track record of creating a sustainable event take a look at this video about greenwashing:
youtube
Asia-pacific People’s Environment Network (APPEN): “golf development is becoming one of the most unsustainable and damaging activities to people and the environment”.
It’s not just mega events that cause harm to our planet, golfers it’s your turn to take some responsibility. In a study (http://www.umdknes.com/KNES485resources/Readings/10/R01.pdf) looking at golf’s impact on the environment it was found that in the development of golf courses vegetation and forestland are destroyed, toxic pesticides are used on the course and 3000 cubic metres of water per day is used to maintain the course which is enough water to meet the needs of 15,000 local people, this seems insane due to there being so many golf courses in less economically developed countries and places of drought! Just to add to this, it’s not just small animal habitats that are destroyed. In Sri Lanka the expansion of a golf course which had already acquired multiple acres of agricultural land and forestry was protested against as it would have disrupted the native elephant’s migration path that they have used for centuries as well as this many golf buggy’s use fuel to just get from one hole to another. All of this damage and that’s just from one sport and one that also takes a ‘pro-environment’ perspective that’s without talking about the sports that are directly choking the planet like motor racing, but I mean the damage that causes is pretty obvious just from looking at the picture below:
Tumblr media
The climate crisis is anthropogenic, nearly all of the destruction made to earth has been caused by man. Just to name a few: the industrial revolution increased the production of fossil fuels which increased air pollution and the emission of carbon dioxide and other harmful greenhouse gases, Chernobyl not only caused death on humans but ruined wildlife, the atmosphere and contaminated the soil surrounding the area, and increased deforestation in the Amazon rainforest just so that more space can be used to slaughter innocent animals for our consumption and now to add to this list: sport being one of the biggest industries in the world has detrimental effects on our planet. So, what is being done and what can be done to improve sports impact on the environment?
In a study (http://w.humanecologyreview.org/pastissues/her181/stoddart.pdf) it was found that there are efforts being made to reduce skiing’s impact on the environment for example, Whistler Blackcomb is making attempts to try to rebuild the glaciers by adding artificial snow and by building snow fences to protect them from wind erosion as well as using fuel efficient snow grooming machines, other ski resorts should follow in Whistler’s footsteps to make skiing a little bit better on the environment.
Laws have been put in place to ban the use of some pesticides on most golf courses but not all courses and not all toxic pesticides.
Another solution is to stop paying other countries to do our dirty work via carbon offsetting, we need to take the matter into our own hands and put initiatives and laws in place to create a more sustainable country.
Although some sports are increasing efforts to decrease their environmental impact it may not be enough, I believe if there is to be significant improvement there needs to be system change and quite frankly less mega sport events (sorry sport lovers but I think our dying planet is more important than who kicked more balls into a net).
What are your opinions on sport’s impact on the environment and how else can we improve sports effect? Comment your thoughts about how you think we can do this below.

The Adventures of Gloria Lacasa - Chapter 4
The Demon Kingdom was more frightening to behold than Gloria had ever expected. She had never seen much beyond her little village, so imagining a land like the Demon Kingdom had been difficult, but what she saw chilled her to her very bone. There was land as far as the eye could see - dark, scorched land. It was mostly stone and gravel, things she saw often on the riverbank but never saw elsewhere. There were no trees as far as she’d seen.
They left the ocean by turning into a river, a wide channel that Finn said would lead the ship straight to the capital city of the Demon Kingdom. In the distance, Gloria could see what she suspected was a mountain. “A volcano,” Finn had confirmed. “It’s active, but it isn’t a threat. The King has magic that keeps it under control.”
The water of the river was dark and murky. There were probably monsters in the river, Gloria suspected. She didn’t say anything, but at one point as she gazed over the side of the ship at the frightening splendour of the Demon Kingdom, she was certain that she saw something move in the deep.
The city was positioned oddly in relation to the volcano - the river rolled up beside the volcano, and the city was behind the volcano. It was impossible to see from the river until you actually got to the port, at which point the city became glaringly obvious. It was huge - it was like a hundred of Gloria’s tiny village, all crammed together. The houses back home were decently distanced, with yards and space between them and only a few walkways. The town had a well, but not much else. Here though, they fit several houses into the space that would have been occupied by only one or two in the woods.
Gloria had never seen anything so magnificent. The castle loomed over it all, dark and foreboding - and yet, that was where Finn said they had to go. The King would probably be able to point her in the right direction, he had said. So, they were off to visit the King. She said a farewell to the ship’s crew, thanking them for the ride, and then they disembarked.
Gloria threw up when she got off the ship. Then she had a hard time walking, her body having adjusted to the gentle sway of the ship on the ocean, so Finn let her take a seat on a bench in the marketplace while he got her some food. Carlos came along, sitting with her while Finn got lunch. He ended up buying lunch for the three of them, so they all sat and ate while Gloria let her body ease back into life on dry land.
For a city as big as it was, Gloria didn’t see many people. There were a number of merchants in the marketplace, mostly ones with buggies, carriages and carts that looked to be travellers. “Where are all the people?” Gloria asked Finn as they walked towards the castle. “I thought that cities were supposed to be bustling. I see more people in my village than I see in the streets here.”
“Different kinds of people,” Finn replied with a shrug. “Lots of indoorsy types. Dark creatures that prefer the cover of night, witches who spend time inside practising their magic and spells. Only a few people here and there, and just to visit the marketplace. Otherwise the streets tend to be pretty dead.”
“So we can just...walk right up to the King’s castle and meet him?” Gloria asked, gazing at the castle as it came closer in the distance.
“Of course,” Finn replied. “He’s expecting me anyways, I’m here on business. I’m sure another query wouldn’t bother him.”
“He’s not scary, is he?” asked Gloria.
“To you, I suppose he would be,” Finn replied, his blue eyes looking thoughtfully in her direction. There was a sort of sympathy in his gaze that she’d only really ever seen from Brie and Daniel back home. “I know him well, so all I see when I look at him is a man...a wise, great, and powerful man, but he’s still a man.”
“An ageing man,” added Carlos from Gloria’s other side, and Finn gave a nod.
“Yes, indeed,” he said. “He’s been King for a long time.”
Not much more was said on the way to the castle. Gloria marvelled at the lands beyond her tiny village, and finally, they reached the King’s home. It was larger and more daunting up close, but Finn walked up to the front door as casually as one might their own home. Two guards in blackened armour stood at the door, and as Finn approached, they moved to open the doors.
“These two are with me,” Finn said, for the guards must have been eyeing Carlos and Gloria with some suspicion. The guards merely nodded, and in they went.
The stone of the castle was black, almost as if it was charred. In the hallways, long carpets of deep red were laid out. A number of ornate, intricate tapestries in blacks, silvers, reds, and deep blues adorned the walls, as did a number of candelabras containing flickering white candles. It was well-lit enough to see well, though the lights danced on the walls and filled the halls with an eeriness that Gloria had never before encountered.
“I’m not sure how I feel about this,” Gloria said to Finn in a soft voice, reaching over and putting a nervous hand on his arm.
“It’s beautiful, in its own way,” Finn said. He put his opposite hand on top of hers, giving it a squeeze. “It’s alright, I promise. You’re safer here than you were back home, or back on that beach where I found you.”
“I suppose that’s true,” Gloria agreed with a slight nod. She felt safe with Finn, and with Carlos. Both of them were her friends, and she knew that they’d make sure nothing could bring her any harm.
Soon, they came to a massive set of doors almost identical to the front doors. These doors, like the front ones, were guarded by another set of armoured guards. Both bowed their heads upon seeing Finn, and then they drew open the doors for him.
The lights in the throne room were dimmer than those in the hallway. A long, deep red carpet with silver trimming stretched from the door all the way to the far end of the room, where there sat an elegant throne of dark wood and red cushion. Atop the throne sat the man that Gloria presumed must be King. He wore all black, his clothing covered by a long black coat. He had spiked black pauldrons adorning his shoulder and long hair that fell just past his shoulders in loose curls. A black hood was drawn up over his head, shadowing much of his face.
“Finn Balor,” he said in a deep voice that seemed to fill the room. “Welcome home...”

Hi r/EntrepreneurI have poted here a few times about my startup VEED and I am happy to now share our most important milestone yet! Before I start, i just want to say this was originally posted on our blog titled "The journey to ramen profitability", for images of the MVP, Revenue. screenshots.. its bet read there.Anyway, In just 4 months and 14 days since we have started charging for our product and about 13 months since our online video editor went live, we have hit an important milestone, we have hit ramen profitability. As of mid-October 2019 we are at $5000 in monthly recurring revenue, VEED now pays for two full-time founders (myself and Tim) and two part-time developers (Mate and Veljko... Love you guys)Ramen Profitable"Ramen profitable means a startup makes just enough to pay the founders' living expenses" - Bad Man PGWe have hustled pretty f****** hard to get here and learnt a LOT along the way. There were a couple of moments where we thought it was all over, like the time we ran out of money and had to get contract work, or the time when we were kicked out of our office.Oh and time our first two developers quit working for us immediately on the same day. But through all these drastic highs and lows, we have continued to move forward and grow.Ramen profitability is a huge milestone, but also marks the start of the next big phase of our startup journey as we are moving towards finding product-market fit and starting to scale our product to thousands of monthly paid users. In this post I am going to go through and describe our journey as to how we got to where we are right now and document the main milestones and lessons we have learnt along the way. As bliss as our progress might have seemed from the outside, it has been a real grind with many ups, downs, failures and fuckups. So here goes...The Backstory - $0 MRRTo start, I think its important to set the scene. In 2014 online video was hailed as the new BIG thing, everyone was banging on about it. We both could see a cultural shift accelerating. We were watching more YouTube than TV, we were flicking through Instagram more than magazines and we were not alone, all our friends were doing that too. Quality user generated content was winning in a big way.The fact that you can shoot high quality videos with a smartphone and distribute content globally free of charge was changing how we were consuming media and in its wake creating a new generation of celebrities, influencers and publishers. In turn inspiring even more to create. Brands started to take note and the old model of creating two blockbuster TV commercials a year to connect with your audience started to become less relevant. At this point, I realised that most video editing software was designed for making films and TV shows, not short snappy social media content. After searching, I found no editor that was powerful, yet simple enough, that would allow you to construct a narrative or tell a story. We thought there is definitely a gap in the market, but we were not sure what it was just yet.The type of videos I was making at the timeWe thought we were a great team to solve this problem. I was a recent grad from Central Saint Martins, I had directed music videos for Sony music, had experience working in advertising and branding agencies and a bunch of startups too.Tim worked on a research project at King's College London and built an automated video editing platform that used AI and Natural Language Processing to summarise news articles and turn them into short, bite-sized informational videos (the project was called VEED)Tim and I did some research and really liked how Giphy’s gif maker worked and thought it would be super cool to make something similar for video editing. I started designing, Tim started coding. When we messed - $0 MRRAfter Tim graduated from King's College London, we then applied to his university accelerator and got a place. We had the designs, an MVP and were ready to hit the ground running. Tim still had the veed.io domain name, and thought it sounded like video so we used it.We had limited runway, just enough to cover 3 month of the 12 month program. So we thought that we could win some cash by entering pitch competitions. So we changed our idea from simple online video editor, to automated video editing….We got really good at winning pitch competitions, like REALLY GOOD. In fact, we won cash at pretty much every competition we entered. We got flown to Dubai to present it at a conference, a VC firm gave us free desk space because they thought we were onto something and we netted tens of thousands of pounds in prize money... crazy right?During those 6 months we won thousands in grant funding, we were balling and everything was going amazing, so with the money we hired two talented students to help us build this highly anticipated award winning product. From the outside, it might have looked pretty rosey. This is how you run a startup right? The product seemed like a GREAT idea. The BIG problem was all of the people who said we were doing so well were and awarded us prize money where not our target customers. After that we have built the products MVP, we have spent months trying to sell it with no interest, we got close a few times, but it was clearly not going to work.So we had a product no one wanted and with about 6 weeks runway left. We got the team to rip everything apart and pivot back to our original idea, the product we had wanted to build from the start - a simple online video editor. It was horrible, the worst summer ever Tim and I have ever had, we were broke, our startup was not working. To make matters even worse in those last 6 weeks, both of the students we hired had quit and walked out on the same day, a week later the VC firm that gave us free desk-space kicked us out too. It must have been pretty obvious we were crashing hard.So Tim got a contract Job and sent me half his wages every week so I could keep running the company. Tim would meet me in the office at 6am every morning and then headed off to his contact job for 9am and I would continue hacking and marketing till later in the evening. Fortunately, we managed to launch and get some early users with our MVP.A few weeks later, while eating a hot dog on London Southbank, I got a cold call from a recruiter offering me a contact job too. We both were tired, drained, and needed a break and some cash too, so I took it.This is the part where the easy thing would be to give up. We could have easily just fallen back to getting paid well through contracting. But we did not want to give up that easy, we understood the mistakes me made and knew how we could fix them.Lesson learnt:Winning awards is not the same as running a companyBuild stuff your users wantValidate with your users before buildingThe co-founder relationship needs to be strongKnow when to pivotBETA - $0 MRRTim and I were working weekday mornings, evenings and weekends and after a few months it was paying off, we were talking to users and our startup was growing. As we were getting paid pretty well while contracting, we thought it would be a good idea to hire two developers to keep VEED moving at a good pace.We searched high and low and where SUPER lucky to eventually find Veljko and Mate. We have learnt a lot from our previous failed hires and vowed to never make the same mistakes again.Traffic was increasing every week and just 4 month after everything came crashing down, we had built VEED to 20K monthly active users. As my contract job came to an end I moved back onto VEED full time with Veljko and Mate. We were building fast, iterating on product and growing at a good speed and Tim was working all hours too and kept company’s runway topped up.Lesson learnt:It is possible to have two jobsThe only time a startup fails, is when your let it failTalk to your users and iterate fastFirst Paid Users - $200 MRRI received an email that recommended we apply to join the next cohort of well known startup accelerator.Tim and I thought that there is no harm in filling out the application, so on a train ride home to see my mum, a few days before the deadline, I filled out the application. To our surprise a few weeks later we had a phone interview, that went well. Just 4 weeks later, we were in Mountain View California interviewing for a place on the program.Essentially, we got rejected, and from our rejection email feedback, we believed we got rejected for not having any revenue. So we added a $5 pay wall that weekend and converted our first 20 paid users. We then emailed them and asked them to reconsider. They said no..Unfortunately, as this weekend was so mad, we did not have time to appreciate the huge milestone that we just overcome. We had always dreamed of making our first monthly revenue online and now we had it. What was even more shocking is that we found 20 users that weekend to pay for our buggy video editing app.Lesson learnt:You need to charge your users early to learn if this is a product they will pay for.By charging users, you will understand where the value is for them.Rejection is not a bad thing. It is not always easy to not see the value in something you have built.Summer 2019 - $3000 MRRWe returned back on London in mid June, doubled our prices to $10 and got our heads down talking to our paid users. We quickly worked out that for our paid users adding subtitles to videos and also automatic subtitle transcription were by far the most popular features. With this knowledge, we worked hard on making those features amazing.Since we started making money, we began getting a lot of inbound investor interest. Additionally investors we previously spoke with also started to get super keen. Ultimately we decided to not take any investment, we did not want any distractions and though the lack of runway would make us focus hard to getting our product to profitability. In July we have built a load of new features that our users did not want, like video effects and video templates.Which was stupid. But we wanted them ourselves, so we have built them anyway. We also changed a lot of our development processes to enable us to move much faster and speed up our lead times to deliver features and bug fixes. All this allowed us to hit 2oo paid users. In August, we had realised that at our current growth rate we would run out of money in the next 3 months yet again. So we doubled our prices again to $20 and something CRAZY happened.Users continued to pay for our appChurn fell by 40%New users drop by only 10%Following this, we had our best month yet and best of all, we were projected to reach ramen profitability on the exact same week our personal funds would run out.As counterproductive as putting prices up feels, charging $20 for VEED brought in a different and more serious type of user, they need the product and they are happy to pay for it and have different needs to the $5 users we originally had. Things started looking up for the first time in ages. Finally overtime, our product matured and stability got better, we believe this is also a leading factor in how we reduced revenue churn to from an embarrassing 40% to less than 10% in just a few months.Lesson learnt:Put your prices up, again and again.Don't build features for the sake of it, it is a waste of time.Try to avoid unnecessary distractions like investors.October 2019 - $5000 MRROctober 17th, 2:02pm - $5K MRR, after everything we have been through to date it does not feel real. Altho we have pretty much made every mistake in the book many times over and I believe we will continue to keep messing up too, but our trajectory suggests we are not going to have to go back to contracting now. We are really excited to continue building our product and now can also see a path to really accelerate growth.Lesson learnt:Getting your first company off the ground takes longer than you think.A profitable companies don't rely on anyone else. How do we run VEED on $5K Mo?Tim and I pay ourselves about $1666 each and we pay Mate and Viljko the same. In not sure how everyone else spends their money, but this is a breakdown of how I spend my money.$600 Rent$200 Bills$200 Social Life$100 Eating out$100 Travel$100 Maybe a new pair of trainers or something..It's not a lot, I cut corners where I can; I pack lunch, ride my bike to work (much nicer than the tube), make the most of free drinks at events before going out ;) But we are all so happy to be working on a product we love, it really does not matter. We are filled with excitement and push hard for growth. We have free cloud services for the next 8 months, but will easily cover this by the end of next month too. All other bills come out of our personal accounts right now.Final ThoughtsWe really hope this blog post was valuable. We would love for other early-stage founders to read and share this so others do not make the same mistakes we did. Join our mailing list if you would like to get update from us as we build our VEED and as always, feel free to drop us an email if you have any questions.

Modern Jobs And The Modern Economy
all kinds of cool jewelry and no shipping or getting mobbed t the mall
Tweet
This is part 7 of a series on modern society.
Here are the links to Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Part Four, Part Five, and Part Six.
Economies are always in flux and are always shifting. 150 years ago, there was a booming candle business alongside a roaring horse and buggy industry. Swiftly but surely these industries went the way of the cotton gin and other technologically obsolete businesses. We must not mourn for these as they are a natural shifting of life and the world, and as a result jobs and industries with honorable and well-paying jobs sprung about via the way of light bulbs and automobile factories. But as this trend has continued far more nefarious and insidious changes have occurred that go well beyond the technological advances that (primarily) the Anglosphere has brought fourth. These changes include a shift to a knowledge economy which has produced more dishonest work, along with a creeping anti-white, anti-natal, anti-traditional, and anti-religious culture within said knowledge economy. While a simple shift to a knowledge economy is something that no doubt will not be easy for any country to endure, as it is likely to stratify the population along IQ lines (as suggested is already happening by Charles Murray in Coming Apart: The State of White America) even within racial lines, there are concurrent changes which are turning a difficult time into a needlessly morbid, rancorous, and ultimately vicious cycle which will not end well.
The rise of the knowledge economy and shift away from manufacturing and other low-medium skilled jobs has already ravaged much of the nation, especially in rural areas. This is not disputed nor is it the focus of this piece. Part of this shift to a knowledge economy has occurred concurrently with a shift to hyper-competition and ultimate disdain for workers. No longer do business owners and corporation give two shits about their workers or their workforce as a whole. They only care about profits and efficiency. I would have less of a problem with this if this focus on profit was accompanied with an increase in worker pay and benefits, but such is not the case. Since 1960 worker pay has largely stagnated while worker productivity has continued to climb at near or better than historical rates. To me it seems as though the large corporations and even unwitting small business owners seem to be getting more and more out of workers for the same pay, or even less in some cases when considering inflation. In addition, many workers aren’t entirely cash poor but rather only wealthy enough to provide a minimal level of comfort with the latest 50+ inch TV, their newest phone, and their favorite sports jersey or t-shirt. Sometimes they might even be able to afford slightly more expensive amenities likes nice grills for cookouts, hot tubs, or maybe even something like a home theater. But the most important things (land, housing, cars, insurance, and investments) are not becoming easier to attain. Due to various factors life is becoming even more complicated and time consuming and less conducive to living happy, fulfilled, community and family-oriented lives. But because workers are working so hard, they often have little time or energy left to take care of more important things, such as family, church, and community. As a result, corporation get richer and hold more power while the average worker begs for jobs and time off, often so concerned about their time off that they struggle to relax during said time.
There used to be some semblance of concern for workers and the everyman by the elites and wealthy. They used to understand that while these people writ large might not be as smart, as competent, or as capable as many at the top, they were deserving of dignity and had more things to care about than the bottom line or number of hours worked. I am not saying concern for profit is evil, it is the basis of business, but rather the concern for profit at the expense of community, society, and worker well-being is certainly evil. It is valuing money over intangible goods. It is materialistic. Even worse, workers are now often berated by HR departments, largely staffed by odious and onerous women, making the lives of those who attain a semblance of success in white collars jobs a living hell via oppressive policies, constricting culture, and a fanatical persecution of anyone deemed “heretical” to the globohomo narrative. Even in non-white collar companies these oppressive HR regimes are creeping in. This adds to the worker disdain by not only passively discouraging family, community, culture, and well-being, but also actively attacks all culture opposed to said globohomo agenda. If some jobs, even white collars ones, were more fulfilling, maybe even some of the many negatives could be offset, but they aren’t.
Many modern jobs are largely busy work. Because of the profit of many companies and corporations people are hired almost out of a tautological reasoning that says because we’re making more money, we must hire more people. Anyone who has run a small business or been within the inner circle of one knows that this is not the case. If more can be done with the same people or less, so long as they are treated well and not put under an undue burden, then it will be done. You don’t hire people just to hire people because you think you need them. My point on this is not that people should be fired if their job isn’t necessary but rather that when people are put into these jobs that aren’t essential, that aren’t truly needed, then they often feel a soul-suck and a despair that is summarily harmful to them and all of those connected to them. They are treated poorly because their job is deemed unnecessary either implicitly or otherwise and as a result they are forced to “earn their keep” in a soul-crushing fashion, via performing work that is rarely often used or even looked over. This happens most in white-collar jobs but is not exclusive to them. There are jobs within manufacturing and other sectors that are given that simply own your time but require nearly no labor of you. While some may say this sounds ok, pay and no work, I highly disagree. I believe the key to a happy and fulfilled, and successful, life is that of honorable work. There is no strict requirement for what is honorable or fulfilling work. An accountant may find their work fulfilling and so long as it is done well, it is indeed honorable. But the ownership of one’s time without demands upon their work appears to me as scheduled wage slavery. The company owns your time but cares so little for you that they would rather have you do near worthless or entirely unneeded tasks rather than either firing you and allowing you to find a fulfilling job or giving you meaningful work. Because of such an environment I have no doubt said problems with the modern economy have contributed to the deaths of despair (deaths from alcohol, drugs, or suicide in the beginning of and through the midpoint of middle age) felt by the rural white working class.
I have not come across many solutions to the shift to a knowledge economy and how the effects might be mitigated for those maligned by its occurrence. However, it is fairly easy to pick out solutions for the other listed problems in this piece. First HR departments must be abolished. Ideally women would not be staffed at all in a company, as an added bonus. This negates all potential for sexual harassment claims, unless such claims are made by homosexuals, which I also discourage from having in the workplace. Second, business owners (I would also suggest corporations but they have no concern for their workers and are unlikely to have such care any time soon) should renew their concern for their workers and attempt to create environments that are conducive to family, community, and worker well-being. It’s difficult to offer many specific solutions to this problem in the scope of this piece, but it would not be difficult for small business owners to determine on their own case by case basis steps they could take to facilitate a healthier and more rewarding structure for their workers. Third, useless jobs should be abolished. This includes HR jobs, compliance jobs (and concurrently constrictive regulations), and other jobs in which the worker isn’t actually producing much work but rather just selling their time. I advocate this because when someone only sells their time and isn’t truly connected with what they do, they’re robbing the world of their gifts which could be given elsewhere. I have no allusions that all people are highly gifted and a hugely impactful force upon the world. However, something as simple as coaching your local high school (or middle school) athletics team or volunteering for some other youth or community organization would likely yield greater benefits than a soulless job, and would undoubtedly be more effective for a community when said volunteer or coach is happy with their current work and is setting an example to aspire to for current and future generations.
While there are many more things to address about the modern economy and modern jobs, I will end with this note. Our world will constantly shift (including the economy and jobs) but with roots in family and community, the rough patches and challenges can be weathered. If we keep our focus on those things beyond being the best economic units, then the changing economy and job market will be like the strong winds of a passing storm viewed from the window of a cozy home. Thunder may sound, lightning may strike, and rains may fall, but from the shelter of our friends, family, and communities it will be more like a storm which eventually passes than a flood that washes us away with it. We should control where we weather this storm from as best we can. Rather than huddling with the masses of fellow economic units during the storm and hoping our elites show favor upon us and decide to bring us in, we can choose to shelter ourselves in our own homes alongside our white brothers. There might not be as much room and the houses might not be as luxurious as those of the elites, but I would rather live and die among brothers than temporarily imbibe the fruits of disdain for my brethren, family, and way of life. Make your choice.

Best cooking method in sous vide supreme demi
When cooking on a new machine, its cooking method is different. As can be cooked in the sous vide machine or pressure cooker as it cannot be cooked in a common stove. So there are some basic rules for easy cooking. If these rules are properly cooked, cooking flavors and nutrition levels are correct. Here are some basic things to cook in your sous vide supreme demi:
Cooking time should be determined on the thickness of food (especially meat). If the thickness of the meat is high, it will take time, but more time will take longer. For example, the minimum requirement for1 inch(2.5 cm) steak is 1 hour (140/60 temperature). But for 2 inches (5cm) time will not be cooked twice a day, it will be 4 hours (140/60 temperature). So do not be rushing to cook. it at the right time. Have to cook for the right time.
Foods can be cooked at the desired temperature. Since the time function is so overcooking can be prevented. You can be cooked a long time without extra smell (more than 8 hours). If the temperature is increased then the time will be less needed. But the timer function should be used so that there is no overcooking.
Toughened meat should be given more time (more than 6 to 8 hours) in 140/60 temperature. Besides, meat fritters, cutting of meat fatty acids like pot roast, pork ribs, collagen fibers need to be cooked for at least 24 hours at 140/60 temperature. There are also some of the beef structures that may require up to 74 hours. If you do this then the result will be tasty and tender
It is very easy to cook each part of the poultry separately. Half of the chicken, poultry or other breasts, legs, or thighs work well on the ‍sous vide supreme demi.
Vegetables and fruits, which contain a significant amount of fiber. This usually requires less temperature (183/84 to 190/87) and takes 1 to 2 hours to be flexible. 45 minutes requires for most fruits, including tomato, cauliflower, cabbage and summer fruits. Also require 1 to 2 hours for root vegetables such as seeds, carrots, potatoes, pinesaps, and turnips.
Here are all the things that we have to keep in mind to purchase a sous vide machine. The details of each subject have been given. If you think.
Sous Vide Supreme Demi is suitable for you, then click the button. And if you think that best quality but low prices, then see the best sous vide machine reviews.
