Branderson's leatherbounds are testing me. I swear to god, I've been eyeing the mistborn leatherbound for years but I just can't justify it to myself - the postage makes it insane. I have a hard copy of all the mistborn books already.

But I don't have a hard copy of warbreaker. Just the ebook. And that leatherbound is beautiful :'( .

BUT I also want the bookends.... I'm holding out hope that they'll eventually become available on their own. Might be a slim hope, although Branderson did say there's some merch announcements in November.

Anyway the point of this post is just to complain about the pretty things that I Want but definitely don't Need.

Prompt 333

I once more believe Battinson Batman needs to be given a child. Or multiple. Multiple children. I am also once more rotating Ghosts Have Wings Au. 

So Batman, still early in his whole vigilante career ends up busting a shipment, nothing too surprising there. Pretty usual honestly. Except for what was in one of the crates already open. Because it looks like some sort of gemstones but… perfectly spherical. Strange. Suspicious. 

But it’s also late, er, early in the morning, and the GCPD is notoriously corrupt, so like, he’s not going to just leave the weird gemstones, each about the size of a plum or so. (Dear Gotham he’s apparently hungry, and might inwardly vow to never let anyone realize what his tired mind decided to use as measurement) 

So he, unknowingly spurred on by more than just a slight bit of ecto contamination, takes the strange spheres back home. Just puts them in his pockets and heads back to the manor that they moved back into after the whole Riddler mess. (He even found a cool cave! With a bunch of terrifying bats, but they made a glass separator! For safety!) 

But in Bruce’s defense of forgetting about them, he’s more than a little tired and hungry and just wants to sleep for a bit, y’know? So maybe he forgets about the gems as he falls asleep in the chair in the cave (Alfred was not pleased!) until he starts digging around for them. Erm. Did they fall out somewhere?? There’s no holes in his belt pockets… 

And maybe these sort of things shouldn’t slip his mind, the spheres had felt Weird with a capital W, but he gets forced to a circus and there’s an… accident. So maybe he pushed it away as not important because there’s now an angry grieving eight-year old living with him and he’s panickedly reading any and all sort of parenting books he can get a hold of because he has no clue what he’s doing. 

Yeah, maybe his back is itching like crazy no matter what he tries, and maybe he threw up the other day, but it’s fine. This is fine. 

….

Behind the Scenes of Wild Blue Yonder - Part Seven

Excerpt from Emily Cook's Behind the Scenes article in DWM #589

Donna Noble is the epitome of being two contradictory things at once. She is both ordinary and extraordinary; human and Time Lord (as the DoctorDonna); brilliant and… well, not quite so brilliant. "I was told that by a drama teacher at youth theatre in Swansea when I was about 11 years old,” says Russell T Davies. “He was quoting some science-fiction book that said human beings can think two completely opposite things at the same time, and I loved that. Look, here I am, 50 years later, I still remember that.” Tom pitched Russell some ideas of his own for Wild Blue Yonder. “Giant crawling versions of the Doctor and Donna, that was my idea,” he says. “Grabbing onto the cart and stopping it moving. Donna bashing the hands and then them bashing the cart. We talked about that scene for two or three months. I think on screen it’s probably only a minute and half but it’s a very long scene on paper.” Tonally, where does Tom feel this episode sits? “We’re not going too far into the body horror element, because it’s for the family. But I do love the body horror and the spookiness of it. The eeriness of being on a big spaceship that’s a bit like a haunted house. My favourite episodes of Doctor Who are where they go somewhere really strange, the weird bottle episodes. This, I feel, is a very expensive bottle episode. It’s exciting. There’s a countdown, corridors, green screen, explosions, prosthetics…”

"Stevie!"

Steve turned from where he was trying to unlock his car, trying to figure out who was calling his name at this god awful hour. He had to stay late to cover for Robin who was off being lame (on a hot chocolate date with Chrissy).

To his surprise and absolute pleasure, he found none other than Munson beaming at him with that big goofy grin of his.

Steve's momentarily awestruck at the way his friend looks, red cheeks and chin tucked away behind a handmade scarf (courtesy of Claudia).

He's also wearing the new jacket that Steve helped him pick out after much of the Munson belongings were lost. Big, thick, and warm. Comical looking on Eddie's lanky frame.

Eddie looks... adorable. Steve can't help the fond smile that spreads upon his face, giving the metalhead a little finger wave as he trudges over to him with the boots Eddie helped him pick out.

Steve's night is already a little bit better.

I guess so! I definitely have traits/elements that Im just way better at drawing / have more fun with drawing, and i can't always force all of them onto every character!

but to be real i don't think im ever 100% satisfied with my harper either LOL his hair horns (?) always give me trouble and i feel like i never quite capture his...salaciousness very well

i've had this idea for a while, to randomise two or more of the outlanders, put them into a platonic/found family prompt generator and see what comes out! sooo here we goooo :3

Outlanders interactions!! (based on a prompt generator)

Mzingo trying to teach Tunu some life skills, but all that ends up happening is the Outlands nearly being set on fire and Mzingo almost breaking a wing. Still, at least Tunu is so innocently unaware of the danger that he has fun hanging out with the vulture anyway :)

It's Kijana's birthday party! Mwoga checks in on the jackals to see what all the fuss is about so he can tell Mzingo the news of the Outlands for the day. Kijana tells him he's invited to the party. Mwoga asks “Isn't this just for your family?” and Kijana replies “You are family!” and invites the rest of the Outlanders so she can have the awesomest party :D

Njano drags Kenge along on his mission to find a supposedly very spicy herb that's a challenge to eat. When they find the plant, Njano dares Kenge to eat it too, and Kenge doesn't back down from a challenge (in the actual generator it said kenge and njano do the tipe pod challenge wtf help??)

Nne has an idea for how to get out of a bad situation. Sumu says it's the stupidest one he's ever heard, but they're going with it. (couldn't really think of what the idea or situation is for this one, but i'm gonna assume it involves violence lmao)

Nne and Tano are tasked with watching the jackal pups. They don't know how, they just are. They escort the pups on a walk, completely lost with the whole Taking Care Of Kids thing, when a rockslide traps Tano and Kijana. While they're stuck waiting for help, Tano learns how to be a nicer hyena and Kijana learns that maybe hyenas aren't so bad :3

The Wet Season is almost over, so Janja spends extra time hanging out with Kiburi before the crocs go into hibernation for the Dry Season :)

Kenge and Mwoga aren't friends yet, being very different with the monitor lizard going solo and the vulture part of a parliament. Encouraged by Jasiri to share experiences with other Outlanders, they talk about their very different lives and how going solo or being aligned with others helped them. (damn this wheel spin generator really favours these two, nne and kijana lol)

Sometimes, Goigoi likes to sing something randomly to pass the time. Janja appreciates his enthusiasm for the musical arts :3

Janja's Clan knows the ins and outs of the volcano's geysers and steam vents better than any animal. It's Cheezi's job to escort Jasiri through them today so she can get to the other side of the Outlands. You can imagine how that goes :]

Okay I understand where people are coming from with the "emotional suppression in Vulcans is learned not genetic" talk re: "Charades" but, consider......... the emotional suppression is muscle memory, and the aliens took away the mental muscles that remembered how to do it. It's a crude metaphor on my part, but that was the way I saw it.

Also consider: it's a sci fi show using extremely high-concept bullcrap science on a weekly basis and maybe nitpicking it is a fruitless endeavor because none of it is going to make sense otherwise and enjoying the ride for what it is is a much more enjoyable way to engage with this franchise. Sometimes you need to shrug and let dumb things happen and laugh.

Ok, hear me out. This is a kinda self indulgent request. How would Foul Legacy react to reader with bad circulation? Hands (and feet) that are freezing for seemingly no reason, even despite wearing socks/gloves. Except they’re not always freezing, and some days are colder than others, and others where it’s worryingly cold. Would FL just start trying to warm up reader, or something? (Oh, and bonus if the reader has anxiety of some kind and the bad circulation acts up even more on days that the anxiety is acting up)

(Hopefully this is understandable enough. It’s almost 3 in the morning and if I don’t hit send now I’m potentially going to chicken out of sending the prompt/requesting XD)

ahhh, i get what you mean dear, one of my relatives has REALLY bad circulation and i'm always surprised at how cold their hands are

Foul Legacy's first instinct is to hold your hands, immediately!! right now!! he lets out a small screech of surprise when you hold his face for the first time and your fingers are freezing, and that's coming from a monster who spent years in the Abyss itself. he lets out a concerned whine and carefully grabs your hands, examining them closely before he gives up and accepts that your circulation is simply awful, which he unfortunately can't do much about. so he does the next best thing and clasps your hands in his, squeezing them gently and letting out soft, warm breaths to try and raise their temperature with marginal success. if they're still icy after a few minutes he looks at you worriedly and whimpers, small grumbly chirps of resignation slipping from his fanged maw if you insist you're alright- he'll just have to get used to your chilled touch, then

however, there are days where it's... really bad. a combination of cold, dry weather and your nerves going haywire causes your body to essentially shut down, leaving you lethargic, anxious, and freezing cold all at once. Legacy peaks into your room with a soft croon, pushing the door open and walking over to your bed when he sees you shivering beneath the blankets. with a surprising amount of grace he hops onto the mattress so he can snuggle up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist and gently purring until you shift and flip over to face him. the soft rumbles help calm your frazzled brain, Legacy's claws tucking in the blanket around you and holding your hands to help you warm up before he leans in and gives you a lick on the cheek, trilling mischievously. he doesn't need anything right now, other than to lie next to you and simply... exist. and he wants you to know that sometimes, using effort to just exist is okay, too

I can't do much productively during the heat wave/health issue flare up/etc. like work on my games or anything where I have to sit at the computer/type for long periods of time, BUT.. I did passively sculpt a few tiny foods lol. I wanted to do one of my bigger usual sculptures, but those take so much more time and concentration, I thought something small just to keep my hands busy would be better.. close up photos look kind of weird and blurry from my camera settings or something, but overall they came out okay, especially in person.. Nearly the only reason I ever wanted to buy dolls as a kid was to get my hands on the miniature foods and plates and stuff that came with them, I've always just been obsessed with small versions of things like that, so.. why not make some! lol
