Steve was a late bloomer. He didn't expect to present as an omega right after seeing a bloody Eddie Munson into the ER.
His biological changes weren't a problem at first. He found his perky tits and even newly-slit cunt easily acceptable. They just felt right on his body.
His peace only lasted until he visited Eddie in the hospital and slicked his underwear beyond repair.
It was embarrassing and also pathetic because he was quite certain Eddie didn't want him that way.
He knew the alpha just flirted with him for fun like everyone else.
To fix it, Steve began wearing scent blockers religiously, dressing in more layers, and using pads to keep his slick from leaking out and ruining the sterilized air.
So far, it was a success. No one batted an eye when he got a little wet whenever he sat beside Eddie's bed.
Even Robinâhis platonic soulmate who had always been in tuned with himâdidn't pick up his inappropriate behavior.
As for Eddie, the alpha just became friendlier with him; kissing his hands, giving him more flatteries, hugging him tighter and longer than the others, etc.
Though Steve was flustered by the new development, he reminded himself that it likely meant nothing to Eddie.
Still, he couldn't stop finding excuses to see Eddie nearly every day.
Eventually, Eddie was discharged, went through every PT session with admirable strength and determination, and recovered beautifully.
They held a party to celebrate it and Steve was rosy cheeked with joy when Eddie stuck by his side the whole time. And even followed him everywhere like a lost puppy.
It was cute.
Even though Robin kept saying otherwise.
Eddie seemed to decide they were best friends now. Because wherever Steve went, the alpha would be right beside him.
Steve didn't find it as annoying as he had thought. Since Robin and Vickie were in their moonstruck phase, she couldn't spend as much time with him anymore.
He was happy for her, but it was also kinda lonely. A problem that Eddie's constant presence had quickly resolved.
They would hang out and do everything together; cooking, doing chores, listening to the music, watching movies, getting high, and even sleeping.
It wasn't right for an unmated omega to get so close to an unmated alpha, but their bond ran deeper than their carnal instincts. A few cuddles wouldn't hurt their friendship.
Or so Steve told himself.
Because he had to change his panties at least thrice a night before going to bed to not disturb his friend with his situation.
"Where are you goin'?" Eddie muttered sleepily just as Steve tried to get out the alpha's arms.
On the other hand, his body had been acting weird lately. Producing more slick than usual and becoming more sensitive.
It might be his fault for letting Eddie into his nest all the time, but it wasn't like he could help it, either.
Jesus. Even Eddie's raspy voice already made his cunt pulse with want.
Steve felt thankful that he didn't give up his scent blockers. Otherwise, he'd no doubt smell like a bitch in heat right now.
"Nature's call," Steve mumbled, frowning slightly when Eddie's hold just got tighter around him and the musky scent grew thicker.
"'S your slick, isn't it?" Hot lips pressed to his ear, making him stop cold. "Yeah, I can smell it. Been wanting to taste how sweet you are, omega."
Steve gulped dryly, his brain turned hazier and hazier with lust. And yet...
"Wâ Why didn't you say anything?"
"And chased you off?" Eddie chuckled and squeezed a hand between his thighs, feeling his wetness and scratching his clit lightly through the cotton. "No way, baby."
Steve closed his eyes and drew in a shaky breath, choking on the scent of a very aroused and virile alpha.
He didn't know why his blockers didn't work, but the heat of Eddie's palm on his clothed cunt was distracting enough that he just stopped questioning it altogether.
"Be gentle with me," he craned his neck to meet those dark wild eyes.
"You got it, angel," Eddie rolled him on his back and kissed him sweetly. "Gonna worship your pretty cunt for the rest of my life."
And Eddie did.
Eating him out every given chance and everywhere; on the bed, in the kitchen, in the back of the van, on the couch, in the shower.
And when Steve's heat arrived a few days later, Eddie had happily stayed up all night just to suffocate in the sea of slick before knotting him over and over again in the morning.
Which, consequently, triggered the alpha's rut and led to Steve being kept in bed for another week.
And by the end of it all, he was thoroughly bred and ravaged.
Eventually, Steve figured it out once they became mates. His blockers still worked just fine.
Eddie was the problem.
He was a horn dog who had sniffed out Steve's slick and got addicted to it.
But fortunately, Eddie had agreed to make do with his used panties whenever Steve was too sore to let him near his cunt.
The only problem was that Steve now had to guard his favorite pairs very closely.

The world has changed in the past twenty years. None of it for the betterment of humanity. The crunch of the dried leaves grinds under your boots and your head rotates left and then right as you watch, listen. Waiting for any sign of life or more importantly, danger. The weight of your rifle is heavy in your hands, although you hold it down, unassuming but ready to be lifted at a secondâs notice.Â
âI donât know why you donât just hook it over your shoulder.â Ellie snorts, her backpack bouncing slightly on her back from the steps that seem so unencumbered by worry. Why should she worry when there are two fully armed adults on either side of her. Her own personal guard in a manner of speaking. âThere hasnât been anything out here for daaaaaays.â She drags the word out like it's the most horrible thing in the world that itâs been peaceful.Â
Joel snorts, rolling his eyes as you glance over at him and then look back out at the surrounding terrain. âYeah, thatâs why we are on guard.â He grunts, even though his own rifle is on his shoulder. His hand gripped the shoulder sling loosely but he had only just put it up there half an hour ago after you had taken your turn relaxing as much as you can. âitâs too fucking quiet.âÂ
Heâs right. After the disasters that had been Kansas City, you had tried to avoid major cities, but even in the small towns, you had come across plenty of cordyceps and clickers. You hate the clickers with a passion.
The isolation can account for a lot of the silence. Miles stretching between remnants of civilization. The crumbling buildings and overgrown roads give the entire midwest a sense of peace. Itâs unnerving.Â
Your grip adjusts, head rolling around your shoulders slightly to try to loosen the knot that builds up in your shoulders after so long. The weight of your pack isnât as heavy as it should be, the rations not exactly filling since you had to escape that one clicker in Du Bois, Nebraska. Your pack had been ripped and most of the food you had been carrying was lost.Â
You glance over at Joel, noticing the way his shoulders seem to hang, almost a reflection of the way you feel. âWe need to risk a larger town.â You murmur quietly, knowing that his first instinct will be to argue with you. You stumble slightly over a rock and hiss when you feel the hole in the sole of your boots.Â
âToo dangerous.â Joel snorts, shaking his head even as he watches you regain your footing. âIâve got some duct tape in my bag.â He reminds you, knowing that you should probably reinforce that shoe before you lose the sole all together.Â
âItâs not just shoes.â You protest, trying to ignore the way that Ellie groans obnoxiously loud and stomps her foot.Â
âCome on, man!â She throws her own arguments into the ring. âI need tampons! We could find them if there was jack shit out here, but thereâs not. Do you want me to attract wild animals?â She presses, glaring at Joel who looks equal parts horrified and unconvinced. She cracks an evil grin. âCircling us in the wild as I just leave behind a trail of blood? Aaaaand tears.â She adds, lifting her brows. âPeriods are really emotional things.âÂ
Biting your lip to keep from snorting, you watch as Joel; normally stoic, no bullshit Joel, canât seem to string together the words to respond. His eyes slide over to you, almost pleading with you to say something.Â
Your brows lift in question and he twitches slightly, his dark eyes unhappy with you not immediately jumping in to save him. âWe could use the food if we can find any.â You rationalize, smirking when his brows pinch together and he looks like he had just been betrayed.Â
âClean underwear!â Ellie adds. âOrâŠ.cleaner. And a heavier fucking coat.â She shivers slightly and you can see that is the moment when Joel caves. He acts like a prick most of the time, but heâs got a soft spot for the kid. He wonât admit, maybe not even to himself, but he looks over at the faded and nearly rusted out sign.Â
You continue walking, not pressing any more and you can hear the grumbling thoughts that are rolling through Joelâs mind. The now half hearted protests about why this is such a bad idea but you wait for the sigh.Â
Almost even with the sign is when it comes, heavy and it sounds almost pained. Like he is going against everything he believes in. âStop.â He huffs, shuffling to pull his bag off his back and kneeling down with a groan and the small pops of fifty plus year old knees. Unzipping the pocket where he keeps the Atlas and flips the worn pages to Nebraska. Glancing back at the road behind you and then at the sign before looking at the map. Tracing the route that you had already traveled before looking ahead at the towns that were on highway 77.Â
Ellie doesnât say a word but she practically bounces on her toes as she waits for his decision. You know that heâs going to agree, itâs just a matter of which town he chooses. He knows the truth of the situation. Winter is going to come quicker than any of you want, your food supply is low, you could probably all use a new set of boots, and all of you would kill for a halfway decent musty mattress to sleep on. Four walls and a hopefully non-leaking roof over your heads would be the icing on the cake.Â
âWymore is coming up in fifty-eight miles.â He taps the map and looks up at you to see what you think.Â
Ellie shuffles slightly and instead of grinning, you crane your neck to look at the map yourself. âIt looks like itâs bigger than the last few towns, but at least itâs not like we are running into Lincoln.â You hum before you nod. âI say we try.â
âYessssss!â The teenager pumps her fist in excitement and she grins when Joel rolls his eyes. Youâve noticed that like any normal teenager, her favorite activity is annoying any kind of parental unit and pushing boundaries. This applies to Joel whether or not he likes it. âI want to find another joke book too.âÂ
Joel groans but you just turn around, grinning yourself as Joel mumbles under his breath, stuffing the map back in his pack and zipping it up. Joel and Ellie are alike in a lot of ways, especially their penchant for mumbling.Â
You resist the urge to offer him a hand up, knowing he will be even more pissy if you do. For someone who complains about being older, he gets downright grouchy when heâs reminded of that same fact. âWell then, the quicker we get there, the quicker we donât have to hear âare we there yet?â.â You snort, making Ellie grin shamelessly as she shrugs, knowing she will do exactly that.Â
âSo letâs get going.â She doesnât wait for anyone, just setting off down the road and leaving the two of you to catch up with her.Â
****
It takes you nearly three days to get to Wymore. All of you are tired, but Joel is the one who barely sleeps, even when you force him to lay down. Itâs as if he cannot stop trying to protect Ellie, and also you, long enough for him to rest. He gets upset when he has to sleep, staying up until he is nodding off. The coffee supply has been exhausted and itâs probably a good thing. He would drink it all day to the point where his hands would shake from too much caffeine. Still he just wouldnât trust you to make sure that no one snuck up on you for a few hours until he was past the point of being useless.Â
The first signs of the town are a welcomed relief but itâs also an added source of tension. Each mile that you had traveled had added to the fear that this might be the time that you fail. That something goes wrong and someone else dies. The road here has not been easy and the losses have weighed heavily on all of you. Joel still wonât even mention Tess and you hate it when you wake up in the early morning hours to find him staring down at the broken face of his watch with a look that breaks your heart.Â
Every approach into a new area can mean danger, either from the clickers or from humans and honestly you donât know which one you fear more. Your gun is back in your hand, the weight of it familiar and comforting as you pass the first gas station, the windows busted out and dried fungus clinging to the building.Â
âFuck.â You hiss, uneasy at the presence of the fungal vines, even if they look like they arenât active.
âI wonder why it looks pink.â Ellie frowns as she squints at the building. âItâs usually an ugly brown color, right?â She looks towards Joel for confirmation, but heâs busy frowning at the building himself.Â
âMaybe this isnât a good idea.â If the cordyceps have spread this far out of town then thereâs a possibility there are still active branches closer to the supplies that you are looking for.Â
âCome on man.â Ellie groans, kicking a dirt clod. âThereâs nothing for miles. Itâs probably all dead.âÂ
You know that Ellie is probably right, but itâs a risk. You bite your lip, looking over at Joel. âWhy donât we sweep the town and we can see?â You ask, knowing that if everything is dead, you could desperately use the rest. Cordyceps rarely return en masse when the vines have withered and died. It could be a safe place to recharge and for Joel to sleep for more than ten minutes at a time.Â
Youâve stopped walking as you talk, Joel looking around as he contemplates your alternatives. To be honest, there arenât many and both of you know it. Not without a lot of backtracking which none of you want to do.Â
Joel sighs and you know that heâs going to agree. He turns to Ellie. âDonât fucking touch anything until we say itâs alright.â He points at her for good measure, as if his finger would impress the importance of his words. âGot it?âÂ
âGot it.â She huffs. âJesus, you act like we havenât done this before.â You roll your eyes and look away, knowing you shouldnât encourage her right now.Â
It takes hours to make your way into the center of town. Not because you are blocked by clickers or avoiding humans, itâs because you are stocking up. Itâs like the fungus took over this town and just let it rot. Nothing inside the first few blocks of town is disturbed. No looting has been done here, plenty of supplies to be had.Â
Both you and Joel have been cautious but slowly optimistic as youâve found boots and heavy jackets, gloves and hats. A new pair of clothes have been rolled into everyoneâs bags and youâve even grabbed another pack to fill with the mylar sealed packs of camping food from the sporting goods store. It was a miracle that nothing had been ransacked, but it makes you wonder exactly what the fuck happened here. Did the army sweep through and round up all the residents right away? It would make sense, but then why were there dead spores of the fungus here? You havenât seen one body so far and it makes you nervous.Â
âThis place is a fucking gold mine.â Ellie grins like a kid in a candy store, perhaps because youâve actually found candy and she has been sucking on the jolly ranchers until the top of her mouth is raw. âNow we just need to find a place to sleep. I want my own room.âÂ
Glancing over at Joel, you expect him to immediately tell her no, but he doesnât say a word. Continuing to look around like he is expecting a clicker to pop out from the doorway of the local McDonaldâs, now completely covered in that strange pink fungus. Itâs like he doesnât even hear her as he frowns at the building.Â
She takes that as approval and immediately starts talking about how sheâs going to spread out. Making you snort when she talks about sitting in her underwear for an hour. There hasnât been a lot of privacy out here on the road, so you can understand that desire.Â
âJoel.â You murmur his name softly, knowing that the best thing you can do is to find the motel and get settled down for the night before the sun sets. Even if this town is as safe as it appears on the surface, you would rather not be fumbling around in the dark . He doesnât look over at you, still staring at the overgrown building as if itâs holding the secret. Maybe it reminds him of the Boston Museum, ominously covered with the tentacles of the fungus and the horrors that you had found inside it. âJoel!â
âWhat?â His head whips around, body tense as heâs ripped out of his thoughts. Relaxing when he finds you and Ellie staring at him.
âWe need to find the motel.â You remind him, nodding towards the sun getting lower in the sky. âI think we could all use a good nightâs sleep.âÂ
He stares at you for a moment, his eyes searing your face, looking for some hidden meaning beneath your words before he glances over at an eager Ellie. âYeah, sure.â He agrees, adjusting his rifle to sling it onto his shoulder and adjusts his now much heavier pack on his back. âProbably on the other side of the main drag.âÂ
His new boots thump against the cracked pavement. The roads leading deeper into the town is the guide towards what will hopefully be a comfortable bed and at least eight hours of sleep.Â
Your own new boots feel pretty good, but maybe a day or so here, going through supplies and really making sure that you can take on the coming winter would be a good thing. Allowing you to break in the shoes without blisters. Youâll have to talk about it with Joel after Ellie sequesters herself for the night.Â
Itâs about another fifteen minutes before you get to the small motel that looks like it will be a good place to spend the night. Half the building is covered in another large cluster of the fungus, the pink hue looking particularly bright in the fading sun.Â
âWeâll get some keys.â It will be better than breaking down doors, especially since the motel wasnât equipped with the keycards that the high end hotels had started switching to before society came crashing down.Â
The bad news is that the motel doesnât have any adjoining rooms, so Joel and Ellie get into a small spat about her having her own room, Ellie eventually winning after promising that she will block the door with a dresser and heâs allowed to sweep the room before she locks herself in. Half the building is so overtaken by the vivid pink fungus that you swear looks like a big splat of bubblegum thrown over the walls.Â
She doesnât even want to have dinner with you and Joel, making the man go through the room and then telling you both goodnight and shutting the door in your face. Making you laugh as Joel frowns at the door, rethinking this entire situation.Â
âWell, you can have a room to yourself too.â You offer, smirking as he cuts his eyes towards you. You know that Joel would rather everyone sleep where he can keep his eyes on them, so you getting privacy is off the table.Â
âShut up.â Joel grunts, walking down towards the next room and kicking it open, watchful even though youâve both already been in the room and deposited your bags. Itâs a nice room, two double beds so each one of you can stretch out and relax.Â
You laugh quietly and decide to walk down the railing towards the portion of the building that has been overtaken by the fungus. Your curiosity about this variant is finally getting the best of you and you want to get a better look at it.Â
Itâs thick. The tendril that is draped over the metal railing of the second floor, wrapping around it and up the support column. You bite your lip, tilting your head when you see the withered remnants of some kind of flower. What kind of fungus sprouts flowers?
You jump when something touches your back, whirling around to find Joel behind you, holding his hands up. He smirks at you, his eyes crinkling in amusement. âFuck you.â You hiss, narrowing your eyes and he huffs. âWhat are you doing?â He asks.Â
Turning back towards the fungus, you sigh. âThis is different from any other kind Iâve ever seen.â You comment, stepping closer to it only to feel Joel reach for your arm to pull you back. âItâs dried out.â You remind him, jerking your head towards the husk of the cordyceps. âHave you ever seen anything like this?â You know that he spent a lot of time sneaking out of the Boston QZ, itâs possible he had seen it before.Â
He grunts, relaxing his hold on you and he shuffles slightly closer, looking at the flower buds that extend from the tendrils. His own suspicions about anything fungus related is deep, but itâs dried. âI havenât.â He admits after a moment, narrowing his eyes slightly and trying to think if there is any reason why this pink coloring has the hair on the back of his neck standing on end.Â
âSo itâs something new.â You bite your lip and lean in, feeling the disapproval radiate off of Joel in hot waves but you ignore him. Tilting your head and reaching out to touch one of the dried flowers.Â
âDonât-â
The second your finger touches the wilted bloom, it bursts open, spurting you and Joel behind you in a cloud of pink dust. You gasp, holding your breath but thereâs no hope for not inhaling the pollen.Â
âFuck!â Joel coughs, shaking his head and backing up so quickly he hits the side of the building and reaches out to drag you away from the lingering cloud of dust and starts to practically beat it off the two of you. âWe need- we need-â He leans over and starts coughing, obviously having inhaled just as much of it as you had.Â
âWeâre okay.â You gasp, shaking your head and brushing the dust off your clothes. âWe- itâs dead. Right?â You hate that you are asking that, but you hadnât expected that from a dried out fungus.
âIt- we should clean up.â Joel blinks, the pollen making his eyes itch and that has to be the cause of the rush of heat that slides over him. Itâs just adrenaline. Fear. Anything that would scare both of you would make the slight nip in the air disappear and make you feel like your skin is superheated.
The water is gravity fed. The large cisterns on the roof are still full and while itâs not warm, perhaps a cold shower might be better right now. Joel drags you both to the room and locks the door, although he doesnât push a dresser in front of it in case Ellie needs you in the night.Â
In the bathroom, you are shaking as you start to strip down, worrying about how stupid you just were and if you completely fucked yourself. The anxious fear covering the way your skin seems to burn and feel so sensitive to everything. Shuddering when your hand brushes over your thigh as you push your jeans down and kick them off before you pull your shirt over your head and remove your bra.Â
Clean up. Get the pollen off your skin and cool down. Your body seems to be working on overdrive. Your nipple hard under the cold water and instead of gasping in shock, you moan softly. Enjoying the sensation and reaching for the bar of soap that is still wrapped in plastic.Â
Hurry up, hurry up. Joel paces around the room, his hands curled into fists. Practically sweating even though the air is cool as the sun sets. His body feels like itâs on fire, like he is battling a sickness.Â
Over and over again, he goes through the symptoms of the infection of the cordyceps, thereâs no veining, heâs stopped and checked his eyes and reflection in the peeling mirror about twenty times in the five minutes youâve been in the bathroom. And he doesnât fucking think the fungus makes his cock harder than a fucking rock in his jeans.Â
Heâs not thought about sex in months. Nothing beyond fleeting moments of attraction to you that he swiftly buries under guilt and responsibility. Normally, it is when youâre bent over and your ass is presented to him in such a way that he thinks about sinking into you from behind, or when your shirt pulls tight over your breasts and he imagines cupping them in his hands as you sit on his cock. Immediately dismissed and ignored as he reminds himself of how he had failed Tess, he doesnât deserve to find warmth and comfort in your arms.Â
Now, itâs all he can think about. The urge to palm his cock makes his fingers twitch and he almost moves his hand over his crotch before he flinches back to reality and tries to examine his face in the mirror again, wondering if his eyes are bloodshot from lack of sleep or if he is infected.Â
Scrubbing your body is nearly painful, wanting to stop and touch yourself, but you canât. You need to get this done and get out so Joel can shower. Still, despite the cold water, you feel like you are on fire when you shut off the water and realize that you didnât bring your bag into the bathroom. You will have to go out there in nothing because you canât put those clothes back on. Not until they have been washed.Â
Moderately dry, you hear Joel bang on the door. âHurry up.â He growls, making you clench your thighs together at the raspy tone and hating how it spears through you. You know Joel isnât interested in you, hasnât ever looked at you like that and the crush that you had on the man had been buried deep.Â
âIâm done.â You donât have a chance to be embarrassed as you open the door and Joel practically shoves past you into the bathroom and slams it behind him. âFuck.â Your annoyance cools the heat for a moment, but itâs only temporary.Â
The water is icy, but still, Joel curls his hands into fists against the shower wall. Heâs fucking hard. Harder than he had probably ever been in his entire life, even when he was a horny teenager and would have fucked anyone who let him between their thighs. Heâs not felt like this ever. The need to touch himself builds to the point where his hips are rocking into thin air against the spray of the water. Want clawing up his throat and pooling in his stomach in a heavy knot.Â
You donât dress, you canât. Crawling under the covers of one of the beds, you listen to Joel groan in the bathroom, itâs muted over the sound of the shower but itâs sexy. All of his sounds are sexy, from the low grunts he gives when heâs stiff and sore, to the huffs and groans of annoyance. Itâs all sexy to you. The rasp of his voice when heâs not spoken for a few hours.Â
Closing your eyes, itâs easy to give in, to let your hands drift over your skin. Heâs not here, you can take care of this frantic need that is swirling inside you. You just need to slide your hand between your thighs and ease it. It wouldnât take much more than a few swipes of your fingers against your pulsing and aching clit.Â
Trying to fight it, you concentrate on your breathing, in and out. Inhaling slowly and holding it so you can exhale when the burn in your lungs tells you that youâve reached your limit. It helps, but not much. Not when youâre imagining Joel in his shower. Touching him. Being free to touch him and having his hands on your body in return.Â
Your hands slip over your breasts, squeezing them hard enough to moan softly and your legs shift to press together. Clenching around nothing and wishing that you were full while your hands start to move down over your stomach.Â
The first touch is almost a relief, your entire core quivering as your fingers press against your clit. Itâs overwhelming and not enough. You need more, fingertips pressing and rubbing around the puffed up bundle of nerves. Youâre already soaked and can feel it dripping down your slit.Â
Spurred on by that insatiable need, you slide your fingers around your entrance and start to press them inside. Biting your lip to keep yourself from moaning. Imagining that itâs more, that itâs a cock that is starting to break you open and fill that void that is aching.Â
You are so caught up in the bliss of that first stretch of your fingers that you donât hear the shower turn off. The quiet curses coming from the bathroom are muffled by the rush of blood in your ears, the feeling of relief coursing through your nerves and taking over. You donât hear the click of the lock and the turn of the handle. The door opening doesn't even register as you plant your heels on the bed and push your hips up, needing to get your fingers deeper, not quite reaching the spot inside you that craves fullness.Â
You donât hear him until he chokes out a sound that is pained and low, like heâs injured. Your eyes pop open as you lurch up off the bed, your fingers ripping themselves out of your cunt hard enough to make you whimper. Fixed on Joelâs towel draped body, tented over his waist.Â
âJoel, I-â
âFuuuuuck.â He growls, his eyes closing and his hands bunches into fists, one holding his towel and the other by his side. âIâve tried to not think about you, about touching you.â His words are rasped out, strained against his vocal cords. âIâve goddamn beat into my brain that you arenât to be thought about this way and now, I canât stop.â His stomach clenches and his body twitches as he struggles to keep still.Â
Your chest heaves and you see his eyes drop down to your uncovered tits. His jaw clenching and his Adamâs Apple bobbing as he swallows. âI - I need to touch myself.â You admit breathlessly. âI - it hurts so bad and I need something inside me.âÂ
Joel groans again, shuddering so violently that you can see him shake from where you are. âIâve jerked off in the shower twice and it's still hard.â He drops the towel, revealing his hard and leaking cock, making you whimper at the sight and clench around nothing. âI think that- that we- that the flower-â
âI donât care.â You moan, shaking your head and crawling to your knees and shuffling forward. Showing him all of you and so goddamn desperate to touch him that you think you are about to explode. âTouch me, Joel. Fuck, touch me, please.â You beg, your hands on your own body.
âWe-â He shakes his head and his face changes, morphs into pain.
âFuck me.â You hiss, watching as his resolve breaks. His cock bounces as he lunges for you, hard and swift, driving you back to the bed with a bounce. Almost as if he is attacking you.Â
Heâs not gentle. His mouth finding yours in a harsh kiss, your permission unleashing the coils of restraint that he had tried to put on himself. His grip bruises as he hauls you up the bed and settles between your thighs.Â
Youâve always attributed Joel with rough gentleness. The type of man who would make you ache and then hold you close. Groaning in pleasure when you find out that is exactly what Joel Miller is like. His hands spreading your thighs with a desperation that proves he is just as afflicted by this fungal pollen as you are. His cock hard and pressing against your folds as he rocks his hips forward to line up. Almost unable to find the hole with his eagerness to sink into you.Â
âJoel, hurry.â Your hands shake, holding onto him and urging him closer to you, frantic with need now that you know that you are going to have him inside you.Â
âGoddamn, Iâm trying.â He hisses, hating to let you go so he can take his cock in hand. Rocking into his own grip as he shuttles his hips forward. âIâm fuckinâ trying, sweetheart.âÂ
You whimper when you finally feel him pressing against your entrance, choking out a sound of need that is animalistic. Only to cry out in bliss as he pushes inside you without another delay.Â
He groans, eyes cinched shut as he slides inside you to the hilt, burying himself in your heat and feeling that coil in his stomach tighten even more now that your walls are around him. Immediately starting to move just as soon as he fills you, driving by that need and burning in his very veins.Â
Itâs exquisite, the pain and pleasure blending and fusing in your stomach, nerves alight and responding to every small movement. You canât get enough of him, you need more. Wrapping your legs around his hips, you rise to meet his harsh thrusts. Clenching down around him every time he hits that spot deep inside you that you couldnât reach with your fingers.Â
He shouldnât be inside you, he shouldnât be touching you, but now that he is, he canât stop. Turning his head, he presses his lips to yours and slides his tongue into your mouth. Needing more. Kissing you like he had imagined a thousand times before. Giving into every urge he has had since the day he met you and repressed before right now. Snapping his hips forward sharply and pulling every groan out of your mouth to swallow down.Â
Every thrust makes it better, eases that burning in your core, your cunt slick and squelching every time he drives into you. He absorbs every sound you make, almost greedy for them. His hips jarring as they slam into you. Rocking you both up the bed.Â
âOh god,â breaking away from the kiss, you moan into his ear. Closing your eyes as he pants and puffs while he fucks you. âSo deep, so deep, Joel.â Your nails drag down his back, making him hiss in pleasure and pain.Â
âShit.â He groans your name, lost in the rhythm of his thrusts and the building pressure. âYou needed this?â He growls, making you clench down around him hard and whimper his name. âYessss.â You agree, nodding against the pillow. âNeeded it so bad.âÂ
âFuck, youâre so fucking tight.â He huffs, burying his face against your neck. Continuing to pound into you, and not letting up even though his back is screaming in pain. His body wonât let him do anything but rock his hips. Driven by a need that overrides everything else.Â
His words make you burn, making you even more desperate for him. Your hips rock up and legs tightening around his waist even more. Loving how his cock stretches you out and scrubs against every nerve in your cunt. Lighting up your body until you are gasping on the edge of that much needed orgasm.Â
Every plunge into your body brings him closer to cumming, desperate to feel that emptiness, that wrung out filling once he has filled you. He shouldnât cum inside you, he knows that, but heâs not going to be able to stop himself. He can barely pull back enough to rock his hips back into you.Â
His arms have banded around you, holding you into place as he fucks you. Deep and primal, as if he is trying to fuse the two of you into one. His cock punches into the depths of your body that you never imagined anyone reaching, but he touches it with ease. Your body pulsing with that need to come apart.Â
âSo close, Iâm so close, baby.â You whine, body starting to tremble underneath him. âSo close.â Your nails dig into his shoulder, grounding yourself to him in desperation. âJoel.âÂ
âI gotcha.â He groans, eyes closed and his breath fanning against your skin. âIâmma take good care of you, sweetheart.â He promises. âYouâre gonna cum all over my cock, ainât cha? Just like you wanted.âÂ
His words throw you over the edge, that need built up so tight inside you that it busts on the next thrust. Lights careen and collide behind your eyes, bright and beautiful as your whole body ignites into pleasure like youâve never experienced before. Crying out loudly and soaking him in a wave of your juices. Cumming harder than you ever have before.Â
Joel growls your name, his hips stuttering as you come apart around you. Unable to hold back any longer. He buries himself deep into your hot passage and paints your walls with sticks ropes of his seed. Panting against your lips as he empties himself body and perhaps his very soul into you.Â
Both of you pant, relieved and exhausted from the pure exertion of need as you had taken from each other. Joel presses into you, trying to catch his breath, but the fire is still burning low in his belly, his cock still not softening as it twitches inside you.Â
âOh fuck.â You feel that same desire still curling in your stomach, not satisfied by the intensity of the orgasm that you are still coming down from. âJoel-âÂ
He huffs and shakes his head. âDonât-â he presses his lips to your again, body screaming as he starts to move again. âShhhhhh.âÂ
The need still burns and both of you are still locked in its fiery grip, not yet free from the desire that washed over you from a burst of pollen.Â
****
âWhat the fuck man, open the door!â The thudding on the door finally penetrates the bone deep sleep you had finally fallen into. You donât know how many time Joel fucked you, or how many times he had spend himself inside you as you blearily open your eyes.Â
Joel grunts, slowly opening his own eyes and unwinding himself from the tangled together position that you had passed out in. The knocking on the door keeps on. âJoel!â Your name is also shouted, Ellie starting to sound somewhat panicked when neither one of you is immediately opening the door.Â
âFuck! Iâm coming.â He drags the top blanket off the bed and wraps it around his waist before flinging the door opened to blink into the harshness of the sun. âWhat?â He growls roughly, making Ellieâs eyes blow wide with shock.
âHoly shit, what happened to you?â She demands, pushing into the room and stopping short when she sees you sitting up in the only bed that has been disturbed, the sheet anchored beneath your armpits. âOh shit, you fucked.â She gasps, turning and shooting Joel an impressed grin. âWay to go, old man, you made a move.â Her grin quickly turns into an expression of mild disgust when she realizes that sheâs congratulating you two on having sex. âUh, Iâm gonna go now.â She huffs, wrinkling her nose and pinching it. âIt smells in here.â Waving her hand in front of her face, she darts back out the door and Joel just stands there for a moment before he rolls his eyes and goes to shut the door before he thinks better of it. Sticking his head out of the room, he shouts after Ellie. âStay away from the fucking fungus!âÂ
You snort, grinning to yourself as your body starts to ache. Fucking fungus indeed.Â

âEat it or no tv for you.â
âNo!â
âOh cmon you eat this every day, why not now?â
âI donât want it! You didnât do it right!â
âItâs a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Ainât no right way to do it baby.â
Toji narrows his eyes at the little girl who refused to eat the sandwich he made for her. Correction: the fifth sandwich he had made because âhe didnât do it right.â If he had known this is what having a kid would be like he wouldâve studied the basics of sandwich making for toddlers. Ridiculous.
âWell can you tell me the way you want it? Iâm not sure what the right way is.â
âI want it like how mommy does it!â
âWell mommy is at work.â
âThen I donât want it.â The face she makes remind him of you, sheâs basically a carbon copy of you personality wise. That tiny face scrunched up when she hears or sees something she doesnât want. It was amazing how easily she could get anything she wants, Toji was wrapped around her tiny little finger.
âOkay Iâll do it again.â He repeats the same routine of grabbing the bread and putting the peanut butter then the jelly on it. Thinking maybe he cut it wrong he decided to cut it in fours. A bad idea by the way because he is immediately hit with the hysterical cries of his toddler.
âWait hey hey no no- donât cry. Whatâs wrong? Did I do it wrong again?â
âIâm telling mommy you starving me and being a meanie daddy!â
âIâm not a meanie daddy, thatâs not nice to say.â
âUh huh!â
âNuh uhâŠ. Brat.â Toji scoffs as he looks around to find anything to soothe the crying child. âYou want chicken nuggets? Pretty sure we got the dino ones you like so much.â
âI want- *sniffle* sandwich.â
âI made you like a 100 of them but you didnât want them.. I donât know what you want me to do-â
The sound of your keys turning in the door cut off his words, Toji lets out a sigh of relief. âBaby.. thank god youâre here.â He greets you with a kiss and helps you out of your outerwear, a routine you two have developed over the years.
âWhy is she crying Toji? Awww whatâs wrong sweetheart?â You pick up the child, holding her close as you wipe the tears off her cheeks.
âDaddy wonât feed me!â
âWha- donât lie to your mom like that. She just didnât want what I made her thatâs all.â
Turning to him you raise an eyebrow âwhat did you make for her?â
âWhat she always eat for lunch. Fuckin nasty ass peanut butter and jelly sandwich.â
âDonât call her food nasty in front of her. How did you make it?â
âLike how any normal person makes it.â Toji shrugs, wondering why such a question was asked.
âYou have to do it a certain way or she wonât eat it.
âSo she said. So I put the peanut butter-â
âNo itâs the jelly first Toji.â
âWhat the fuck? I didnât know there was a certain way.â
You place the child back down, gathering the ingredients. âItâs always jelly first then the peanut butter, on separate breads too donât mix them and donât put too much. Then cut the crusts off and cut them into three rectangles.â You say as you perfectly demonstrate how to make the sandwich. âIf you donât do it like this she wonât eat it. Learned it the hard way- here you go sweetie.â
âThank you mommy!â
Toji scoffs at the scene, earning a giggle from the little girl happily munching away. âTch⊠yeah okay Iâll remember that next she demands it.â He pretended to be annoyed but the happy giggles from his little girl cause his mouth to turn on both corners. Honestly he has a lot to learn about his dad business but having you by his side definitely makes things easier.
âSeriously, ainât shit easy about raising a child.â
âWhat can I say? Iâm just the bestâ
âHm yeah she definitely gets her attitude from you.â

He could swear the mansion got ten degrees hotter when you came in.
Itâs inevitable. Itâs this thing you carry, the way you move â Graceful, elegant, almost compelling as the air fills the room. Itâs not public knowledge that youâre not a mutant itself, yet youâre presented like one, like you have healing factors and age painfully slow, but human after all, a subtle lie, one that can harm no one.
Itâs safe to say you catch his attention in the most annoying way: How couldnât you? All you do is this weird seduction heâs appealed to, whether youâre conscious or not itâs just captivating, an invisible force that even when you ignore it is there, there waiting for the perfect moment to flood every time you happen to be in the same room.
Captivating. Thatâs the word.
The room becomes smaller after, the air grows thicker, and itâs almost like a ticking bomb, the way you wouldnât even look at his face while heâs noticeable pinning after Jean Grey, the mystery that surrounds you and he cannot seem to resolve no matter how much time he puts into it.
Itâs like he's the plague. You donât really try to exchange more than just a few words, only when it's needed and you cannot avoid him any longer, and he didnât say anything at first, keeping his distance too cause he donât see how youâd become friends, cause after all, what he could have in common with a girl that doesn't surpass the twenty years?
But soon he's upset about it, even when he doesn't really say anything out loud, it's a spike he cannot reach under his skin. You seem to become friends with anyone but him, mutant kids in your history lessons, the rest of the team, even the damn mailman when he delivered a package â You'd say hello like it's a long time lover or so, greeting people like they mean the world to you.
He has students now that are asking for a transfer from his class to yours cause it seems you're fun to be around, more like he is, and he fucking hates it.
It's fair to say it's been getting into his mind lately. That thing you do with your hair, twisting it in your index finger on a lock as you speak, the subtle red glow in your eyes he always catches by mistake, not enough fast to stop looking at you, pretending he didn't even see in your direction at first.
Tension. Logan just happens to hate tension.
In fact. He's almost sure your problem is personal, that you might hate him enough to act like he didn't exist at all, enough to avoid him like he was not there.
That's why it's just so weird.
When he finds himself walking down the hallway to the kitchen and he smells this cherry-scented aroma that settles under his nostrils, he changes the direction he's walking to, to instead, follow the path to the person that was silently smoking outside. Hiding. Maybe, a student he'll have to scold like the old man he was turning into.
No smoking in the mansion!
However, as the night is just settling, he doesn't recognize a little mutant, but instead happens to recognize you in the middle of the gardens of the mansion, close to the maze; escaping the comfort of the inside to enjoy a self-rolled cherry tobacco he has smelled before in the air. He's a victim mostly, cause his legs move on it's own as his mouth go dry, approaching you in silence.
"What do you want?" you ask when he's halfway there. And your tone is just cold as ever, not an ounce of feeling as he contemplates your side profile, the way the tobacco sticks out of your parted lips, seated on a bench hidden between bushes and trees â "Is Scott bitching about the smell going into the mansion already?"
No. He's not. But he doesn't have enough reasons to explain exactly why he's outside if you asked, why, all of sudden, he followed the scent of cherry knowing it was you the only one who carried a colts package in the pocket of every single jacket you wore, constantly asking Storm if she could hold on to the bag of filters for you while you rolled in the worst moments.
It's distracting, to say the least.
"Yeah," he quickly says, lying cause in reality he hasn't seen the guy in the whole day, yet it sounds like something he would say. "Do you happen to have another one of those to share?"
You don't talk much, hand reaching his as you offered him from your tobacco without a single word, the same that was placed between your lips and now was on his in what seemed to be something more intimate than what he'd like to admit, the cherry taste filling his lungs as they weirdly enough, shared a cig.
"Aren't you too young to be smoking?"
You laugh, and the sound sends a shiver down his spine cause he has never heard a sound quite like it, nothing that resembles that throaty, raspy sound that came out of your lips in amusement thanks to his words. He, out of all people, has never seen you like that â "And how old you think I am?"
He seems to think about it for a second, carefully picking his next words. Logan knows that women and their age are a tricky thing, you cannot say a number that's too compromising, nor act stupid and say something that's clearly not correct â "Not a day over twenty-two."
The answer pleases you, and he just knows he's wrong, but you don't seem bothered by it, instead, you nod pretending he's right, like he just got the answer right away.
He can see why everyone's switching classes now. Cheeky bastards.
"Twenty-two is not young at all, but i'm twenty-seven though," you say, and he scoffs at the statement, seeking for any change in your heartbeat, any sign of a lie. The strange thing happens when he cannot pick any heart at all, any sign of pulse.
"You are pretty young still," he says, against his age, youâre just starting out livingâ. "You don't look like you are twenty-seven at all."
"Cause I age slower than the rest," it's a practiced lie. One you know from repeating the same explanation over and over again, the priced answer of why you haven't changed a single bit in the past few years and made you a mutant â "I never looked my age."
Such a fucking liar. He doesn't need any heartbeats to confirm it cause deep down you are a terrible actress, he can see it so clear, how you're calculating every answer, thinking about the correct thing to say, the normal thing to say.
"Is that your thing?" he asks, playing pretend almost as bad as you do. Tilting his head to the side as he questions you â "Age slowly?"
"I have healing powers," you explain as he tossed you the joint once again. "My saliva kinds of help healing wounds. It's pretty boring."
"Boring" Logan repeats. The word itself sounds so damn fun in your lips it's contradicting. "That doesnât sound really boring."
There's a moment of silence after that. Where you smoke in silence taking in the taste of the cherry, and he is having a hard time wrapping his head around the fact that your lips also touched the side of the cigar he was smoking before, the plain lies you've been repeating over and over the last ten minutes.
It's almost infuriating. Makes his blood boil without question, he surely endures your treatment of silence, but being lied to? That's a whole different level.
âHow old are you, kid?â
Your brows furrow in response, a clueless face. You are pulling out this show once again Logan donât buy for a damn second. Something about the scrunch in your nose, the way you dismissed your own powers as if they werenât enough. He knows itâs all a lie. He knows it even when he doesnât really know you at all, when itâs the first time youâre truly speaking to him after your arrival to the mansion almost a year ago.
âHow old you really are?â
You laugh at the question once again, and he just knows it, knows it when he sees you barely illuminated by the dim light of the moon, the act you always keep up, a web of tangled lies you have to be intoâ âTold you i'm twenty-seven already, didn't you hear?â
âIs it now?â he asks, amused by the sass, exhaling the smoke of the low-quality tobacco he doesn't understand why you're so invested in when passed it to himâ. âCause you donât seem very convinced, it really sounds like bullshit to me.â
You're almost offended. By the look you give it's like the worst mistake he could ever make, yet you remain silent, not giving the satisfaction of an honest answer yet. Testing his patience like he did have one to begin with.
"Is that why I canât hear your heartbeats, darlin'? Cause you age so slowly?â
The nickname scratches a part of your brain, and you hate him for it. The word rolls out of his tongue with an accent, smoking your cherry tobacco cause you happen to be nice.
âYou canât?â youâre good at faking it suddenly, at least, that's what he thinks when your brows furrow in alleged curiosity, stiffening your back, uncomfortable. âHow weird.â
âDamn right it isâ that's when you realize he knows you are lying. Even when you donât talk much, even when you act all stiff and bothered when heâs close, he knows that you are fully invested in lying. In whatever twisted little lie you've planned, like it was your real life and not something you made up. âAre you going to tell me truth, then or do I have to find out? Does the professor know that you're lying?â
The smoke lingers in the air.
âHow old are you?â he asks once again, demanding an honest answer this time â "Thirty? Thirty-five?"
You find his questions annoying, mostly cause he won't stop until he gets an answer, one that pleases him enough to leave you alone, the other part cause you happen to like the playful banter you two keep going, dangerously much. You don't hate attention it's clear, what you do hate it's the way he seemed to see pass the lie, to demand more even when he has no right to.
He enjoys being the one who's right though, Logan cannot help it. He's pleased to catch that look on your face who says everything but nothing at once, to have you where he wanted, almost at the edge of admitting a truth.
Is it payback because you've been stealing all of the little mutants from his class? He's jealous cause kids like being around you? It does not make much sense, but he is fully invested. Questioning all.
Even when you're outside, it seems like the air grows thicker. And Logan finds himself seeking for your breathing, cause he don't know nothing, nothing about you more than the fact you don't seem to have a heartbeat, or pulse and now, breathing.
âIf you really are that eager to know, i'm a hundred and twenty-sevenâ the words float in the air for a while, and he's sure you're just messing with him, cause there's no way a pretty little face like yours had endured a century. âI've been alive for quite a while.â
He doesn't fully believe it first. Of course he doesn't. Logan's sure you're messing with him also, distracting him about your real age.
âAnd I supposed this do come from you slow aging powersâ He tries to give you a point there, but it's difficult to be serious when you're just playing with himâ. "How so?"
To be honest, you do have a little temper yourself, you've learned to stand up for yourself most of the time, so when you happen to notice he's teasing you, that he doesn't really believe you, you adopt this attitude of defense he notices as you shift over the wood you're seated in.
"No, it doesn't" you steal the joint from his hands to have a smoke yourself. "You really aren't as smart as I thought you were, huh?"
Do you happen to have a dead wish? His muscles tense beneath his shirt, and in contrast of his problem, you can hear it all. All the sounds his body makes when he's all bothered just by the beat of his heart, that annoying sound his bones make each time he moves.
"What are you?"
"That's it," the praising goes directly into his chest, the tone you use to tell him he's going in the right direction it feels just so right he forgets why he got mad in the first placeâ. "That's what you should be asking right there."
It's almost a shame having to admit he would also switch classes. That he would also go through all the paperwork himself without a second thought and that right there, is pathetic, but you're smiling at him as if you're encouraging the man to try harder, to find the answer himself, and fuck â He's old, too old, he's tired, he's in a bad mood as fucking usual, and he happens to dig a drink in the quiet of his own room, but he's pulled by something as equal as devastating as the gravity force, shoot towards you in pure need to have some answers even if he has to make you spit them.
"I find it strange, cause when you don't have a heartbeat, you aren't usually alive" Deep down he's fascinated, hazel eyes glues on your face trying to understand. He feels like he has it in the tip of his tongue waiting to leave his mouth as a catastrophic answer, but he doesn't find the right words.
"That's cause i'm not," you state it like it's something obvious. And just as he knows you're lying, this time, he knows you're telling the truth, blowing the smoke in his direction just to bother him â "Why do you think i'm teaching history after all huh?"
He hasn't seen it all, it seems.
Yeah.
He's losing it after that night.
Itâs known that Logan has sleeping problems, but that night specifically he thinks about something else rather than what usually torments him, a truth he also has to keep a secret now that he's learned more about it.
See, Logan doesn't expect you to be really dead. Much less to hear what you are and have been hiding this whole time from the rest of the people in the mansion â He also learns that you feed on blood, that vampires are a common thing in the world and that he shouldn't, at least, be that surprised when he's a mutant in a world full of humans himself.
You are a folklore myth on small villages, stories in Rumania and horror character in films, so you don't blame him when as you spoke, he finally understands why you're so damn attractive, so damn seductive as you explained more about your way of living, some memories you've been keeping to yourself since being a vampire was so damn solitary, memories he listens to cause he knows what it's like, to be misunderstood, to be eternal, to be alone as well.
It makes the two of you grow closer by the next weeks. You now talked during broad daylight about random shit at first, about the war sometimes, about your condition as he refers to when people is around, eaves-dropping on what you two are talking so invested in. Friends.
Simple as that.
And it's safe to admit also that in the course of the next days, Logan Howlett is a fucking mess, and he knows it, but he won't do anything about it.
He won't flirt cause he knows you're a hell of a woman, in every good sense of the word, that he's way too damaged for a vampire even, for all kinds of people out there, and as much as he'd like to say anything, he values your attention, how you switched the attitude of acting like he didn't exist to be a friend, one that you came to share secrets with a cherry aroma glued in their skin.
It gets him insane, to the point he's no longer spending much time with Jean and people start to pick up on it as if he didn't have enough headaches already. He doesn't care. Shit you are not bothered by what people say, and to be honest, he cannot seem to care either.
At first, he's reluctant of keep on talking to you as normal as it is. He's not really invested in religious themes, but he sure admits you're a sin by all meanings, a religious experience of some kind if anyone asked him â He agrees with what he has heard also in the hallways. Innocent conversations of teens and their platonic crush on their teachers. You are pretty hot.
He's so interested in knowing more about you, about the nights you spend in Rumania, when you leave to Canada, the different lives you've lived across the years. He finds himself looking forward to share his stories too, weird enough, cause he's over two centuries himself and he just craves to talk about it with someone who also gets him in a deeper level, that weariness that fills your body when you age so long.
You got the best of immortality, and instead of feeling envious, Logan finds himself attracted to you so much like he's never been in his whole existence. Not at the point it happened with you at least.
By the end of the first month he knows your little treats. You use a lot of sunscreen, and avoid activities outside as much as you possibly can with those classic, tiny black sunglasses that hided you from the rays of the sun, always in the shadow so unapproachable; how you'd usually dismiss food offerings from anyone who's kind enough to even offer you something, and when you haven't fed well during the course of the week, you'd become the most maddening woman he'd ever met.
Maddening.
"What wrong with you, Leech?" Leech. You've been in such a bad mood lately that when he's seating next to you in another random smoking session outside, your fingers twitch, clearly pissed at the nickname after saying multiple times you don't like it.
"I'm not in the mood for plays now."
He can tell from before. When you talked to him that very morning and stared at the collar of his flannel for what it seemed a good, nice minute, he realizes the same moment that you were staring at that pulse point in his neck, where the flesh blood was pumping in his blood flow: You're hungry, as any living creature would be and at your own manner, in constant control as you fight the sense of hunger.
So instead, the mutant ask, like he always does when heâs curious about something that involves you:
"When did you last feed?"
"A couple of weeks ago."
That would explain it. You don't talk much about your meal plan, he knows the professor is in charge of all of that. You've told him about blood bags and hospitals, but he's not really aware of how constant you need to eat, how the blood supplies most of your energy, makes you stronger, gives you vitality, so Logan at first, don't really know what its like to not drink any blood in the course of two weeks.
"What happened with the blood bags from the Hospital?"
The mention of blood out loud seems to triggers you. A groan escaping your lips as you can swear you feel the taste in your mouth â "Don't know. Haven't seen a single one this week, Charles said something about next week, problems in the bank I guess."
You're clearly worked up. It's a new look he hasn't registered before, your hair is tangled in a less-composed look, and there's a slight shake in your hands as if you're going through withdrawal, deprived for what you needed the most.
"And animals?" he questions, trying to find a solution. âCanât you eat a cat or something?â
"Like shit i'm going to feed from a fucking animal," you're almost immediately grossed out, scrunching your nose at the idea. "I can barely handle being so close to a damn human but animals? I'd rather fucking die this time for real, no waking up."
"That bad huh?" the mutant asks, taking a sip from the beer he sneaked outside, chucking lightly afterwards. "So you're a leech with elegant taste, huh? Of course you are."
"Clean blood is rare," you explain, rolling your eyes. It's inevitable. He knows you hate the nickname so much that he insists to keep on calling you that way just to get a reactionâ. "Humans nowadays taste like dirt. They consume drugs among other substances, pills, food supplements, even damn vitamins, donât get me started about blood diseases cause it gets me in a bad temper. Every single thing affects on your taste, even what you eat. It's all registered there. Clean, good blood is rare to find. Call me elegant, call me picky. It's a damn fact."
"And what about mutant blood?" he questions. And it seems like a mere phrase at first, one with no subtle tones, heâs usually curious about your nature so you donât pay much attention as he spokeâ. âYouâre picky about mutants too?â
âNo, iâve never had a mutant before.â The truth is, you hate feeding from people, the act being something so intimate, so damn personal, you refrain yourself. Killing humans, picking a next victim to fed on, is considered now a treat you don't appreciate from your kind, making you steal from hospitals and any kind of blood bank before Charles offered you help. You haven't fed from a mutant, cause you avoided everyone equally, but you don't want to be rude about it. âYou all smell different, but iâd be lying. Maybe yes, iâd be picky about it too, feeding is something intimate.â
It's an undeniable admission, and now that he's trying to be in your position, he would also be picky about someone's blood. Logan remains stoic cause heâs suddenly filled by the thought of something else, a glimpse of his own weird creativity he forces himself to push aside, to really suppress now that it's not the time or the moment.
âHow do I smell?â It's too late to stop the words from coming out of his mouth when he asks her. And at first, is out of pure curiosity. He has never encountered a vampire in his life until you, let alone had someone talking about the subtle tastes of the blood being undead, so he doesn't want to let the opportunity slip â Of course he wants to know if an over two hundred mutant like himself would be as remotely good as a fresh, clean bag from the hospital.
"You stink like wet dog," he surely deserves it after all the times heâs been calling you a leech â "Like those cigars you tend to smoke, alcohol, and musk. It's similar as wood. That smell you got when you're in a forest and it's not raining but straight pouring."
"Is this a way of telling me i'd taste bad, peach?"
You make a mental note to let him know after you like peach way more than leech.
"If i'd found a human smelling like that, you won't be hearing from me anytime soon" you're just messing with him. A playful banter you enjoy more than ever, the distraction you needed to think in something else rather than the blood bags you craved so deeply â "Hell, i've would just walked the other way."
"So i'm taking you won't be feeding from me anytime soon."
It all takes a dark turn there. You're very aware of the tension the last month now that you talk to him in daily basis, but itâs just mere tension, nothing that ever goes beyond the limit. Logan has never said something to flirt with you despite the million chances he got, and he always remained like a friend, one that you enjoy spending time with now. Cannot be blamed when you're taken aback.
âCat got your tongue, kiddo?â Man. You're about to whine about the name before you remember he is indeed, older than you are. Vampire or mutant.
"You want me to feed from you?"
He seems so willing when you ask. Even when you teased about his smell calling him a wet dog. He just seems so eager to let you just do it, try a mutant for the first time.
"Yeah," he dismisses it like it's not something so deep â "I doubt Charles is going to let you take a bite since you could clearly kill him, and I'm not sure the others would be pleased with the idea of you sinking your teeth in them, so yes. Me, leech."
Logan Howlett doesn't really smell bad. And you don't know why cause he has all the ingredients to fucking stink, yet, you'd call him interesting. That's what you thought when you find his pulse point again, the vein in his neck you looked earlier in the morning, thinking just as the same you were thinking now.
Of course you would feed from him. Is it a good thing to do? No, in any other circumstances you'd decline. He's your friend.
Now? Youâre having a hard time.
"So I'm guessing that you're pleased with the idea, then," Real talk?, you just want to hear him say it. He doesn't talk much usually, but now that he's very vocal about what's on his mind, you have to take advantage of itâ. "I'm not sure either. But I do think Storm may be interested too."
He seems content with the response, taking a long sip from his beer before adding â "Please, go and ask her so you're less annoying."
You're almost completely sure he doesn't find you annoying. You also don't care about Storm. And maybe he knows you're not going anywhere, that you're not moving.
"You really want me to bite you?"
"I dunno now, princess" he looks at you pleased now cause he got you where he wanted to, cause he managed to awake all the interest now that you're looking at him "Are you going to pull a Dracula on me?"
"No, i'm not going to suck you dry if that's what you're asking."
Logan chuckles. He's a damn masochist. It's been like that as long as he can remember. It may have to be with his healing powers cause he likes it more than usual, but the idea gets to his head soon enough, all falling so damn fast: Your breathing would be against his neck and he'd take the bite like a damn champ.
"Yeah I can handle you," he says, aroused. "You're not gonna hurt me if you take some blood. I'll be fine and you won't be a pain in the ass."
He acts so gruff about it but you hear the sound of his heartbeat already high enough to wake the entire mansion, his labored breathing since he suggested the idea himself. He digs it, strange enough. Thrives on the idea.
He's a grown man already, and he can take a little leech like yourself.
It's clear you're hungry, cause it doesn't take much for you to accept, nodding like you're defeated, like you just lost the war entirely, cause there's no many options here to take and even if it were, you are now interested in have him more than any other blood bag. In fact. To hell with the hospital.
"Okay."
It's a simple answer, and it sure works with him as you get close to him, the bench you always used to sit now seeming so small as you look around confirming you guys really are aloneâ. "You won't tell anyone?"
It's something stupid to ask, cause after all that time he has never said anything, keeping your secrets as if they were his own, saving you from weird questions people get sometimes as they didn't know much about you. He's clearly not going to say nothing at all.
"Are you going to stop whining for a second and just eat darlin'? Cause I might change my mind here."
He's feeling overload soon after.
You donât need a formal invitation to lean closer to his neck.
There's no way to describe it also cause he has never seen something like that, never felt a similar sensation more than when he's fucking, the cold touch of your fingers in his chest, taunting the vein in his neck without a previous warning before leaning in even closer than beforeâ. "Stay still" you demand, face close against his bare skin, only one goal in mind. "Don't move for a minute. Just-"
You cannot finish the sentence, and Logan can experience the sporadic pain of the bite first hand when your teeth finally sink in his neck, piercing the flesh so easily as you let the blood fill your mouth. He grunts at the sharp pain, his face contracting momentarily before it's replaced by a nice wave of pleasure, one that hits him right in the guts as he grabs you by the nape of your neck, pushing you against him, almost demanding you to be closer, to keep on taking what you want, what you've been craving for two weeks.
When did he turned into this perverted sick? Getting off by something so primal as the fact you're feasting on him.
The feeling of your lips and the clear suck you gave when feeding are sending him into a spiral, and to be honest, he didn't expect to be so devastated by you, by the way your fingers stay against his chest to prevent him from moving, pinning the mutant between the wood bench and yourself so he wonât move, wonât do anything unless you want him to,pressing on the wound to draw more blood out.
"You heal so damn fast," you complain, looking at the traces of your bite with an unpleased face as they disappeared on his skin as fast as you created them.
"Then bite me again. I don't care."
You chuckle before leaning once again, and you can feel how the air grows hotter than how it was usually, the shift on his breathing as you bite him again, pressing on the wounds once again just to suck.
And youâre hungry, itâs the whole deal. His taste differs from what you believe at first, a huge change from what humans taste like, from what youâre used to deal with in hospitals. Thereâs a subtle taste of alcohol yes, but it mixes good with the sweet taste of honey, the weird taste you cannot put into words. It must be a mutant thing for sure cause itâs thicker than usual, a mix of flavors that explode in your tongue.
The headache you suffered from the whole week seems to dissapear as you drink in, feeding the monster you responded to in your stomach, demanding you to make him bleed more, to satisfy yourself until you canât have any more.
Logan, on the other hand, is really fighting against his very own war.
Youâre already close enough, but he just wants you damn closer, as much as he possibly can. Itâs clear that well, it hurts slightly, but he has endured much worse, means nothing when itâs the pleasure that comes with it who strikes on his body, the light sucking, the idea youâre full of his blood, that you are not on trouble as you were before thanks to him. All because of him.
He's not used to acts on his impulses, but he does it anyway.
"C'mere" he says in a strangled voice, Logan's having no trouble moving you around, grabbing you by the hips to make you straddle him, keeping you glued to his neck as he doesn't want to disturb youâ. "You really are a pretty leech, huh?â
You hum against his skin, pleased at the contact, and when he realizes youâre not complaining about his actions, he let his fingers grip your tights, keeping you against him.
You can hear him making this sound, quite like a moan but not exactly when youâre licking the holes you left in his skin, he does heal fast and donât need any of your help when youâre done, but you coat his skin with your saliva anyway just to speed up the process, cause you want to do it, looking down to him after to check if heâs pale or nearly dead. You never really know.
And Logan himself is just fine cause his fingers gather the blood under your lip when he takes the sight of you sitting in his lap as the pearly white rays of moonlight makes your skin shine, and he pushes them inside your mouth so you don't waste any drop of what it can be considered food.
"So what's the final verdict?" he asks as his hands are now grabbing your tights, there's something so intimate about the moment, so personal, hot as he presses his fingers against the flesh of your muscles, he understand what you said beforeâ. "Do I taste like utter shit?"
"Well, iâd need another taste to have my final decision" he laughs, and he don't really laugh often so the unexpected sound sends a shiver down your spine now that youâve heard the sound quite a while nowâ. "Not much, just a little."
âHave you fill then, peachâ He encourages you. âI want you full so you donât whine the rest of the week.â
You donât have any heartbeat, but if you did, it would be ragging in your ears at his words. At the warmth heâs spreading like a disease on her body that, despite being dead and cold, you can feel more than ever.
âI like peach,â you admit, this time pressing a soft kiss before directly hurt himâ. âLeech is annoying.â
Heâs going to say something, tease you about it maybe but heâs interrupted by the nice feeling of what he considers are your fangs tearing his skin apart, familiarity hitting him all sudden as he moans, a rough sound that comes from the deep of his throat, hands coming down to squeeze your ass, making you gasp against his neck when you experience the aching need physically forming in his pants.
âStill,â you say, concentrated on not allowing the wounds to close. But at the lack of complaints on what he's doing, Loganâs hands kept wandering around, making you move against his now clearly stiffed cockâ. âFuckâs sake I said still.â
âStop being a damn brat. You can eat while I move you,â he grunts annoyed, shoving you against him, the friction of his jeans against the thin fabric of your shorts is enough to keep you quiet: Feeding from a stranger and feeding from a person youâre attracted to are two different things, especially in the position you find yourself in. âYou donât have to do anything. Quit whining about it.â
In response, your fingers press against the wound, not caring if it hurts or if it bothers him, but just enough to get him to bleed more and prevent the cut from closing, lapping at the blood that gathered over his collarbone, staining his white tank before you could even avoid it.
Your fingers grab the fabric just to pull it slightly down so it won't bother you, and the deep sound his chest make when he mocks about your desperation is stuck on your brain for the next couple of minutes, indulging in his taste, shutting up the rest of the world.
A moan comes out of your lips, muffling it against his skin. You're too zoomed out to hear it, but he's on a hell of a ride too, moaning as he demands more. It's been a while since the last time you did something like that, combine the pleasure of something as primal as eating with a mundane activity like sex, so you kind of forgot how good it felt, blaming yourself from depriving from something so needed.
"Do you always get this turned on when someone bites you?"
"No" Logan answers as you finish. He's rock hard beneath you, and he lets you know it when he's controlling the movement of your hips, working you against him at a slow paceâ. "See, the woman i'm trying to seduce don't usually bite me, nor make me their main dinner plate."
You whine at the friction.
He looks down to the cause of all his damn problems just to notice his pants being damped with nothing but a physical form of need, soothing the uncomfortable fabric of his blue jeans â "So wet for me already, youâre making a damn mess, do you always get this turned on when feeding?"
Cheeky bastard.
He's using your own words against you, and you cannot be less bothered as you laugh softly, licking your lips only cause you know there's dried blood in them, drowned in his smell, the honey taste that lingered in your mouth.
âNo, I donât.â
At the sight, Logan's hand grabs your jaw in a rough movement, making you look at him before making you kiss him, deepening the contact as fast as you give him the chance. His tongue is soon invading your bucal cavity as he takes control of it, slow, intense and needy, as if he was holding on so much time before giving in to his own desires.
It is something like that.
You don't need to breathe in daily basis, but there's a burning sensation in your chest of wanting, of infinite lust you've been also experiencing by yourself.
The old mutant can taste his own blood in your mouth, a metallic taste as he keeps on kissing you until your lips are pink and puffed. He has thought so much about it that now that he has the opportunity, he devours as if he's a starved man having his first meal in what seems are ages.
"You didn't tell me if I tasted bad."
You think about it for a second.
"I'm afraid you're a rare breed cause it doesn't make any sense" You don't need any help now moving, cause you're rolling your hips on top of him at your own pace, allowing him to use his hands for something elseâ. âYou have all the ingredients to taste like shit, but it's nothing but the contrary, even better than the fucking blood bags.â
âSounds like your going to make me your meal plan, darlin. Iâm here offering you a hand and you just take everything,â â âSuch a greedy little vampire.â
He doesn't seem to care though, same as before he's nothing but willing to let you take everything as much as he tries to bark about it. He's more worried about his hands now that they're sliding down your oversized shirt, tracing patterns over your stomach, his touch so hot against your usually cold temperature.
"Logan," you whine,â "Someone can see us out here."
"Now you care about that?" his hazel eyes are a shade darker when he speaks. "After you're nice and full of my blood?"
His hands are big enough to take your whole cunt, allowing his digits to roam over the fabric of your underwear, almost thanking you for using those loosened pajama shorts he has seen before that very night as he just takes the fabric and pull it to the side.
"Nobody is going to see us. It's late and everyone's sleeping, leech" he teases you, and you cannot bring yourself to care about the nickname at the feeling of his hand taunting you from over the fabricâ. "If you can bite me here outside, you might as well take my cock here too."
You cannot battle against that. You're deep in whatever spell he puts you into, giving in to the attraction and the tension that now needs to be taken care of. Logan's fingers touch you in nothing but experience, cause he knows how to please after so much time alive, how much pressure he needs to apply to leave you plain dumb, pliable for him.
"D'you think I need to stretch you out before fucking you?" he asks against your neck after leaving a reasonable-sized hickey in the zone, he likes the idea of people finding out about what you've been doing with him the next morning. "Or you're a big girl and can take me all by yourself?"
He'd like to take your time with you. Thoroughly enjoy you as much as he wants to, let everyone know you're his now, that you're shuddering thanks to him only, but he's too needy for that, too deprived of you to take his time.
"I want you to use that pretty mouth of yours and talk to me," he demands, coming up to look at your face while torturing you, his index and middle finger rubbing your clit from over the underwearâ. "I'm not properly touching you yet and you're losing it already, peach. C'mon, you can talk to me still."
"I can take you," you say in a strangled voice. "Please Logan, please."
It's the plea of your tone that gets him, the soft begging of an ache he can only soothe, your face while you ask for more, not aware of anything else but him.
"Please what?"
"Please just fuck me already," you ask in frustrationâ. "I just need you to fill me up for a damn while."
You are starting to love the sound of his laugh. The deep sound he makes when heâs really enjoying something, his voice in damn general.
"Be a good little vampire" He says in a gentle tone. Loganâs trying to be kind even when his touch is so rough. "Unbuckle my pants and take my cock out. My hands are busy now, and you can do it yourself."
He is busy indeed. Toying with your underwear being the only thing thatâs keeping him from the direct contact, pushing the fabric against your hole as it works as a barrier, preventing his digits to fuck you as heâd like to. Heâs busy keeping you in place, preventing you from downright melt as your hands came up to unbuckle his belt first, the sound of the metal as it moves filling the air for a couple of seconds before you put all your attention in the button of his jeans, the zipper coming down with the force youâre using.
âYeah baby,â he praisesâ. âYouâre doing so good, keep going.â
When you pull the fabric of his briefs down, heâs already leaking for you, pink head, slightly curved to the side, moaning, erratically how much he needs your hands on him, how you're wet and ready for his cock. You close your fist around him, stroking slowly as your hips lift up enough to position yourself on top of him.
Heâs big. Damn fucking right he is, youâd expected it from before cause sometimes you swear you can see his full length in his jeans, but taking him in your hand is a struggle but itself.
âAre you going to take me yourself or do you need my help? I know you can.â
Despite his words, he does help. Grabbing the black fabric of your underwear to finally make it to the side, the tip of his dick pushing against your clit before he's the one to place it in your leaky hole, forcing himself slowly, giving you time to take him in, inch by inch.
âGood girl," he says, head rolling backwards for a brief moment as he experiences the warm sensation of your walls surrounding him, clenching against his cock as he keeps one hand on your hip, helping you as you lower yourself over him. "Let me look at you.â
His fingers grab your jaw, squeezing you as he makes you look back at him, pushing you once again as you holded a loud moan. He's stretching you at his need.
"One more time," he begs. "One more time and you got it, peach. You're almost there."
Jesus fuck. You can feel yourself getting dizzy. You've drank a lot of blood and you're now overwhelmed by this intense pleasure that formed in your lower stomach, gathering there and waiting for the perfect moment to explodeâ. "Fuck I-"
Logan's pampering you with kisses as a mere distraction, his lips travelling through your neck to your collarbone before you're finally seated on top of him, a muffled moan you need to shut filling the calm of the night.
"Fuck you're tight," he exhales, and he's lost in the sensation, the way your velvety walls welcome him inside. He stays still for a moment, giving you time to adjust, to make you the one who starts moving on top of him.
You can see his veins popping up. All over his chest and coming down to his shoulders and his arms, and god gracious â He smells so fucking good youâre tempted to ask if you can have a bite again.
The moment feels longer than usual, the seconds pass slowly as you stay there. Loganâs hands are just touching your skin from under your oversized t-shirt, taking in the low moans you gave him, the almost perceptible whispers as you get used to him, to his size.
He likes the intimacy of it, the bliss. Man you look so pretty in his lap when the light of the moon is stripping you all to his eyes, even if youâre fully dressed an heâs seated in a damn bench, he cannot enjoy it more, pulling you in for a needy kiss, one that is rougher than the first one and leads you to move inevitably.
His cock pushes past that nice spot inside, and the friction is enough to make you move again, rocking your hips at a slow pace for a few seconds. The sound of your moans is silenced by his demanding kisses, and now that he knows you can handle him, his grip on your hips turn more firm now, squeezing the skin there so he can control your speed, the rythm of your movements now faster than before.
âShh, donât whineâ what he lacks of vocal usually, he pours it all in just fucking, talking you through it when he feels youâre being too loudâ. âDo you want to wake the others? We canât have them seeing you like this, all fed up and cock-drunk.â
âLet me bite you again,â you ask soon enough. And it takes a lot to do it, cause youâre doing it out of pure greed, cause you canât have enough.
âTake whatever you want, leech, just donât make me faintâ he jokes, his panted breathing betraying him as he moans, incredibly interested in the ideaâ. âWant to be conscious when you cum all over my dick.â
Loganâs sure your eyes glisten in a red color as you lean over his neck. And this time is less affectionate, much less gentle as you finally bite him again, teeth piercing the flesh so easily his hips jolts against you in response of the sharp pain your fangs create, the warm sensation of his blood in contrast of your cold touch, tongue-licking all you get from him.
And fuck it feels good.
He shrudders beneath you, shaking his head just slightly at reflex of pain before continue working his way with you, placing his hand between your tights as he lets his fingers rub on your sensitive clit, just enough to make you bite on his neck harder, the lewd sounds of your cunt taking him between holded moans as you suck on his neck.
âThatâs it taking me so good,â He praises â âYou like that, princess? Like how youâre full of me?â
You hum against his skin. The blood coates your chin as it goes down through his chest, staining his white tank for a couple of seconds before the holes your teeth made finally closes on their own.
Itâs pure ecstasy. He can feel it when you clenching around his cock, cheeks red from his blood going now through your system, his vitality, his energy.
You can feel him fucking everywhere. So when you kiss him itâs all teeth, bite and his blood.
The pleasureâs taking control of you now, and Loganâs dizzy from the blood loss, his body covered now in sweat as his words slur together, not threading any coherent thought.
âThatâs it,â he says, making you bounce of his cock. âGonnaâ have you in my room then, all spread out fâme.â
His hand wrap around your neck tightly, keeping the direct contact as he chokes you. Shit. You donât need to say a word. Logan already got you.
âJames-â heâs too deep to question why youâre using that name with him. How you facade is crushing down now as you let go.
When your body trembles on top of him heâs already cumming too, the squeeze on his cock sufficent to fuck him up personally, his bruising grip on your hips shoving you as deep as he possibly can as his release hits him like a brick falling from the damn sky.
He lets you work for it, ride each second of your high, milk him dry as a white circle of his own cum mixed with your juices coated the base of his cock, his underwear now slick with your orgasm.
Heâs struggling to breathe, to properly say something as youâre finally coming down from your peak, looking at him through half lidded eyes.
âDid you called me James?â he questions, and youâre a damn bad liar, cause he knows imediately youâre hidding something cause of the look on your faceâ. âDo we know each other? From before.â
You donât know how to respond at first, at least, cause you cannot lie in a position like that now.
âWell uh. Itâs quite a long story here.â
Before you can continue he gets up, making you wrap your legs around his hips before stsrting to walk to the mansion.
âLogan-â you say in a strangled moan yourself, still sensitive as heâs balls-deep inside you.
âIt will be less than two minutes, leechâ he responds gruffily,â âNeed to get you into my room so I can enjoy you the rest of the night, and you can tell me all of it.â
He donât care if heâs bloody or a damn mess as he squeezes your ass climbing up the stairs, much less if anyone see the two of you in that state.
âI want to hear all the details, Cause I have a weird feeling that this has happened before.â
You cannot find a reasonable excuse to say no as the manâs already reaching the second floor.
Loganâs fucked after that night. When he learned about all that you were before, weirdly connected to you through the decades.
It must be the bite isnât? Shit. Heâs more in sync than ever now that youâve been feeding from him a lot the last few weeks.
Ah. You fucking leech.

I need a blurb of Chris saying he never had a favorite color before he met younger reader
ex: Chris and younger!reader were going on their first date. It was all cute and great energy until Chris asked âwhat do you think my favorite color is?â Yn spent a while looking into Chris blue eyes and said âorange!â Was she right? No. Truth is Chris doesnât have a favorite color, but ever since yn said orange he could never look at orange the same. Orange reminded him of yn and her beautiful smile as her eyes lit up when she said the color. Now itâs current day and yn bought Chris a gift (like an orange sweatshirt) and yn said âwhy is ur favorite color orange?â And Chris told her the story on why orange is his fav color
â â â â â â â â â â â â it made me think of you
"You have ice cream in your nose." Chris said, pointing to Y/N's nose, she crossed her eyes trying to look laughing. "Let me clean this." He rubbed her nose, cleaning the pink from the strawberry ice cream she was eating.
They went out to the movies, it was the first they hung out without Chris' brothers and their friends. Every time they hung out, they never could have some time alone, because Chris' brothers are always interrupting and being annoying. So, after a long time, Chris decided to invite Y/N to go to the movies, but only he and her, his brothers wasn't invited. So, it was a date.
"Is all gone?" Y/N asked, showing her nose to Chris, he denied laughing. She strained her legs to Chris' lap, biting the cone of her ice cream, the boy slightly caressed her skin with his fingertips. "What do you think my favorite color is?" She asked with her mouth full.
"Don't talk with your mouth full, dummy." Chris said, pinching Y/N's thigh. She giggled, kicking his chest. "Well, your favorite color is probably green, because you know, you wear this color all the time." He said, smiling. He's just joking, because he knows everything about you. "You know your soul is pink, I love when you wear pink."
"I wear pink all the time." Y/N said, Chris nodding with his head.
"My turn, what do you think my favorite color is?" Chris asked, throwing his napkin on the car dashboard, Y/N touched her chin thinking about the answer. She scrunched her nose, her lips leaning in a smile.
"You always wear orange, so orange is your favorite color." Y/N said, touching Chris' chin with her foot, she was only wearing socks. The boy held her foot and put it back on his lap, laughing. "Am I right?"
"Yeah, I like orange." Chris smiled, rubbing her legs passionately. Y/N smiled proudly.
But it was a lie, Chris didn't have a favorite color. He likes all of them, but he never had a favorite. But since this day, Chris's favorite color is orange. Every time he sees the color orange, he remembers the day of their first date. Y/N's pretty smile, her bright eyes, the pink sweater she was wearing. She's his favorite girl, so orange will always make he remember her.
When Y/N was shopping with Nick, she found it a orange hoodie and made her remember Chris, so she bought. Later in the day, when they were together in the room, Y/N was showing her new clothes and she gave Chris the present she bought.
"Did you like it? It's orange and you love orange." Y/N said, smiling and holding the hoodie. Chris nodded, smiling like her. He grabbed the hoodie and put it on his body. "Fits perfectly."
"Yeah, I love it." He said, Chris held her waist and pulled Y/N closer to him. He kissed her nose. "Thank you so much, babydoll."
"Why is your favorite color orange?" She asked, with her hands around his neck, inhaling his scent. He rubbed her waist, smiling at her question.
"Because of you." He touched her nose. "I didn't have a favorite color until the night you told me my favorite is orange, since then it is my favorite. Reminds me of you."
"Really?"
"Yes, make me think of you." He gave her a peck on her lips. "And because it fits me really well, don't you think?" Y/N giggled, nodding with her head. She loves Chris so much, he's the man of her life, definitely.

cw: outlaw!rafe being his usual self, hostage situation, mentions of murder, pogue!reader having some sexual awakenings & some backstory on rafe
wc: 2.3k
hope u enjoy xx
part 1 part 2
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Â Â
The following morning, her eyes groggily open in her own bed; covers tucked over her shoulders and head comfortably propped up by her pillow. She finds herself perplexed, doesnât know how she ended up here since her last coherent memory from last night is sitting on the passenger seat of Rafeâs truck and letting her heavy lids close for what was originally supposed to be a few minutes. Â
Her sock-clad feet pad over to the living room where Rafe is rummaging through some of his papers and whatnot; appearing as busy as ever. Â
âWhy donât I remember coming home last night?â She stops to stand next to him.Â
âCause you sleep like a fucking rock. Had to carry you to your room,â he sounds disinterested, not even bothering to lift his head from the piece of paper heâs pinching between his fingers. Upon closer inspection, it appears to be some sort of a contract; letters unfortunately too tiny for her to be able to read from where sheâs standing.Â
âOh. Thanks?â
Instead of leaving her passed out in his car like she wouldâve assumed, he tucked her into bed? Maybe he owns a heart, after all. Â
âItâs whatever,â he dismisses her while reading something over; seemingly deep in thought. Â
âDo youâ do you need help with that?âÂ
âNah, Iâm good,â his hand lifts up to scratch at the back of his head before he scribbles something down.
âRightâŠâ she trails off, apparently rooted in her spot and unable to move. Â
âDid you want something or what?â His tone is suddenly exasperated, eyes finally flickering up to peer into hers along with his brows raising expectantly. Â
âNo, I justâŠare we going somewhere today?â She canât help but feel a little out of place in her own home with him there; almost as if sheâs waiting for his next command to know what to do next. It makes something peculiar swim in the pits of her stomach. Â
âNah, just have to go over these. Can you, I donât know, go to your room or something? Youâre bothering me with your staring,â he grumbles and shifts into a more comfortable position on the couch; not sparing her another ounce of attention. Â
âOkay,â she mumbles, a frown taking over her visage. Â
Honestly, sheâs not entirely sure what sheâs supposed to do now. Normally, sheâd go to work at the surf shop near the beach but since Rafe so kindly took her phone and texted everyone in her contacts about a family emergency that would take some days to sort through, she canât exactly do that. And besides workâŠwell, she doesnât really have much else going on in her life. Itâs sad, really, how a literal criminal forcing his way into her house is the most exciting thing to happen to her in the past few years. Â
All things considered though, she doesnât mind living a quiet life in the Cut, just sometimes wishes she didnât feel soâŠlonely. And donât get her wrong, she has friends, she just sometimes yearns for something deeper than fun boat adventures or getting high with her feet dangling over the dock while a tangerine-colored sunset paints over the horizon. Â
Sheâs always had this dream of traveling around the world or simply just somewhere that wasnât the Outer Banks but her parents never had the money for it. Therefore, she settled and learned to earn a living by herself in order to keep a roof over her head. Â
And sheâs been content with her simple life, even considers herself to be happy but then she sat on Rafeâs lap and at the realization of him getting hard from her unconscious rubbing against him felt butterflies in her belly, maybe for the first time in her life. It was something she thought only happened in movies yet there they were; their fluttering wings poking at her core like some vicious reminder that she hadnât let someone make her feel good in ages. Â
Truth be told, she grew tired of guys not being able to make her come because they didnât understand her needs; didnât even bother to find them out which is why she sort of lost hope for the whole thing altogether. But then Rafe steps inside her home uninvited and is nothing but mean to her and suddenly she...
It's wrong.
It doesn't make any sense yet she still can't help but feel a certain pull towards him whenever he's close. And she doesn't like it one bit; wants to forget about it as quickly as the thought breaches her mind.
It's far too complex for her perplexed mind to grasp onto, which is why she confuses it for insanity; simply decides that sheâs going crazy. And maybe she is, because why else would she suddenly care for Rafe? Why is a hidden part of her heart beginning to harbor gooey, fond feelings for a killer whoâs technically holding her hostage?Â
Sheâs sure her muddled brain is going to explode if she thinks about the matter any longer; instead opting to take a long, scalding shower due to the clothes sheâs been wearing since yesterday starting to stick to her sweaty skin and making her feel even filthier than she already does.Â
Unfortunately, the steaming water doesn't quite wash away the ache between her thighs.
Sheâs in the middle of pulling a shirt over the damp strands of her hair when harsh knuckles rap against her bedroom door and Rafe enters a second later; not even bothering to wait for a response. Â
âChange of plansââ his words die down on his tongue when he notices her current state. Â
âRafe, what the fuck?â She quickly adjusts the hem over her waist, painfully aware of the fact that sheâs not wearing any pants and his eyes are now fixed on the lace of her panties practically on show for him.Â
âWhy are you just barging into my room like that? I couldâve been naked!â She complains before snatching a pair of shorts off her floor; tugging them over her hips. Â
âShit, wouldnât have minded if you were. Got a nice ass for a Pogue,â he shrugs while sporting an irritating smirk that makes her glare at him. Â
âAnd youâve got no manners for a Kook. Except, Iâm not surprised,â she rolls her eyes when he feigns shock; exaggeratedly dropping his jaw.
âPuppyâs getting angry, huh? Whereâs this attitude coming from? Thought you were still scared of me?â He belittles her with a condescending tinge in his laugh.Â
And sheâs about to respond when out of the blue the ring of her doorbell reverberates around the house. Â
They both tense. Â
âYouâre expecting someone?â His tone turns bleak, frigid; inducing shivers to litter across her arms as her head turns towards the source of the sound. Â
âNâ no. Iâm not,â she stutters because truthfully, she doesnât have a clue as to who could be at her door in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday. Â
âDid you fucking call someone?â He takes a threatening step towards her and she panics. Â Â
âNo! I promise, I didnât. I donât evenâ you literally have my phone, remember?â She tries to fruitlessly defend herself. Â
âI swear, if youâre lying right nowââ Â
âIâm not, okay? I didnât call anyone!â She reassures once more, although it seems like heâs not even listening anymore. Therefore, she tries to be logical. âI shouldâ I should go and see who it is, right?âÂ
The icebound water in his eyes bores into her as he weighs out his options.Â
âRight, right. Yeah, you should do that," he finally settles on. "But if you even consider telling them anything, I swear Iâm gonna fucking find you, you understand?â He grits out into her face and she flinches when she can feel his harsh breaths hit her mouth with each syllable. Â
She quickly nods before teetering towards the entrance of her home and twisting the lock with precarious fingers.
Soon, sheâs standing in front of two men wearing police uniforms.Â
âOh, sorry for the wait. Was umâŠin the bathroom. How can Iâ uh, help you?â She tries to appear unfazed; inhaling slowly and doing everything she can in order to not look as guilty as she feels.Â
âWe apologize for the inconvenience but weâve been assigned to ask around the island in order to locate a criminal whoâs potentially a threat to our entire community,â one of them says and she thinks his jaded eyes are peering into her soul and seeing right through her rickety facade.Â
âHave you seen this man recently?â The other guy dangles a picture of Rafe in the air. She takes a moment to properly look at the photo as to not answer too quickly. Â
âNâ no, sorry. Canât say I have. Why? Who is that?â She bats her lashes in confusion as her poor heart thuds in her ribcage. She wonders if they can hear it.Â
âThis is Rafe Cameron. You mightâve heard about Cameron development? He became the owner after his fatherâs death a few years back. And now we have reason to believe that heâs the main suspect for the murder of a fellow officer,â he states with a serious expression.Â
âOh, thatâsâŠthatâs terrible,â her eyes widen in shock because she had no idea Rafe was a Cameron. Of course, sheâd heard everyone talking about what had happened with Ward Cameron and the rumors surrounding the gold but sheâd never cared enough to dig through for more information about the rest of his family. Â
âSeems like the apple really doesnât fall far from the tree considering what Ward did to Sheriff Peterkin,â the one with the piercing stare snickers and her brows furrow because she doesnât think the topic is all that hilarious. Â
âI remember watching that in the news when it was all happening. Didnât you guys also arrest an innocent Pogue with no actual proof?â Her question is sharp because the whole case still itches her in the wrong way.Â
âThat wasâ listen, I wasnât even here back then, it was all very tragic. But the investigation on this case is still ongoing and we have a reliable witness claiming they saw Rafe dragging something heavy near the ocean the night before we found the body washed up on the shore. And according to multiple sources Rafe was the last person seen with our coworker at the island club a few hours prior to his death,â the guy explains and she momentarily wonders if theyâre even allowed to share this much classified information with her. Â
âRight. Well, I really wish I could help you but I unfortunately havenât seen him,â her teeth sink into the inside of her cheek and she wonders if they can tell that sheâs lying.Â
âAt this point, it seems like no one has. Weâre suspecting that he mightâve fled the country. Anyway, weâve got orders to search every house but honestly, we donât think heâd be on this side of the island. So, weâre not gonna waste our time on that. Call this number if you notice anything out of the ordinary, though?â Â
âYes, of course. I really wish there was more I could do to help. Hope you guys find him soon,â she offers them a tight smile. Â
âWeâll do our best,â they assure her before the door finally closes. Â
Her back slides down against the wood as her labored breathing begins to slow down. She closes her eyes in a moment of relief until she feels Rafeâs presence interfering with her peace. Â
âWho knew you were such a good liar? Shouldnât believe everything you say too easily then, should I?â His gaze travels down her form and he genuinely seems impressed. Â
âYou killed a cop?â She decides to ignore his teasing.Â
âRelax. He was a sleazy bastard who was helping me with some side business and became too greedy. What can I say? Donât like being used. But believe me, he was not a good person,â he answers her question, maybe for the first time ever.Â
âRight, right,â she tries her very best to understand where heâs coming from but she doesnât think sheâs ever going to be able to justify ending someoneâs life with such indifference. In her opinion, he doesnât have the right to decide whether someone gets to live or not; no matter how good or bad of a person they are.Â
âListen, I didnât mean to do it, it justâŠhappened, okay?â He tries to explain himself and he almost sounds vulnerable. She nearly feels bad for him. Â
âYou know, I could go to jail for helping you!â She snaps when frustration bubbles to the surface instead. Â
âCalm down, Pup. Youâre not going to jail, alright? And watch that fucking tone, yeah?â His hands rest on his head as he begins to pace around the hallway. Â
âI justâ cops donât care about Pogues. If they find out I lied to them theyâre gonna put me behind bars cause unlike you, I donât have the money to bail myself out,â she tries to pointlessly reason with him. Â
âAlready told you, nothingâs gonna happen to you, okay? Now can you shut the fuck up so I can think?â He demands, halting his movements. Â
âDid they, uh, tell you anything?â He speaks up again and she tells him everything she remembers from the brief conversation while he mulls over his situation.Â
âRight, right. So, they donât actually have any real proof about me killing the guy? Just speculation,â he confirms. Â
âI guess, yeah? But I donât know if they even know all the details about the case,â she offers in response and can practically hear the wheels turning in his head. Â
âThey didnât happen to mention who the witness was?â Â
âNâ no, why?â Her voice wavers as she swallows around the question.Â
He lifts his head to inspect her reaction when he seems to have finally conjured up some sort of a plan to clear his name. Â
âThink Iâm gonna have to pay him a little visit. And youâre gonna help, arenât ya?â
She would very much like to find out whatever sin she committed in a past life that weighed so heavily that it made her end up in a position as wretched as this one.

âIâve been thinking.â
âThatâs never a good thing.â Removing your eyes from the book in hand, you glare and flip your soon to be ex-fiance off if he keeps playing with you like this.Â
Of course, he simply laughs as you shove on Joeâs shoulder.. âIâm serious.â
His hand moves to your stomach, rubbing a circle as he beckons, âtell me.â
Using the bookmark on the comforter, you stick it in the page youâre on and lay it against the side of you. âI think we should take Callie back so she can have her graduation.â
Joe looks over at you, brows furrowed. âI thought we were just going to do something here?â
âI know, and I think we still can, but I donât want to take that from her. She was really excited about graduating.â Itâs something youâve been thinking about a lot, both as a teacher and a mom. Itâs so important for children to feel and be able to celebrate their accomplishments. Sure, itâs only preschool, but itâs still a big deal for her.
You want her to be able to celebrate with her âclassmates.â
And you express as such.
âShe should be able to celebrate with the other kids. Plus, and I know right now, sheâs still excited about them, but I donât know, something tells me sheâs going to struggle with some form of jealousy when the babies get here.â
Joe nods, not necessarily disagreeing with you. âBut, thatâs not entirely abnormal, right?â
âNo, doesnât mean itâll be any easier to deal with though.â Frowning, itâs only now you also think about how that might be for you as well. For almost five years, youâve been able to devote all of your time and attention onto one child.Â
Now, itâs about to be four.
âHey.â Joe, forever adept at reading you, brings his hand to your chin, forcing your gaze to land on him. âWeâll handle it together, alright?â
His words, as per usual, comfort you greatly. âYouâre right.â His thumb flicks your chin, as you chuckle. âItâs probably good her little spoiled self is spending all this time with you now. Before she has to share you.â
His scowl makes you snort as he drops his hand back to your ever growing belly. âSheâs not spoiled.â
âJoe, as the kids say, be so fucking for real.â
âWhat?â
Ignoring the fact that this man literally probably still has an AOL email with out of touch he is, you continue with your very valid point. âThat little girl is spoiled rotten. You give her whatever she wants.â
âShe doesnât ask for much.â
âNot you being in straight up denial.â Heâs so down bad for Callie Bear. Itâs not even funny. âNeed I remind you of her little tantrum two weeks ago? Baby, the way you folded so quickly should have been recorded. Tribal Chief, my ass. Got taken down by a four year old.â
Joe shoves you gently. âShut up.â
Laughing, you continue, âjust admit it, she has you wrapped around her lilâ finger, and she knows it. Thatâs why she tried you the way she did, but I mean it, next time it happens, and it will, set her little butt straight. She can take it.â
Joeâs frown doesnât make it any easier for you to hold in your laughter. âI donât like being mean to her.â
âItâs not being mean, baby. Itâs being a parent. As much as she loves to play with you like youâre one of her little friends, youâre not. Youâre her dad. She needs to respect you as such.â
âShe does,â he defends, and you sigh, knowing this is probably just a battle you wonât win. Quieting down, you decide to switch topics to something youâve been thinking more about as you prepare for the arrival of your children.
âIâm gonna tell her, you know. When she gets older, that Iâm the reason you werenât there the first few years of her life.â
Joe sits up in the bed, removing his hand from your stomach, concern evident all over his handsome face. âY/Nââ
You lift your hand to silence him. âNo, sheâs going to eventually ask, and Iâm not going to lie to her. Whatever anger she feels would be justified, and Iâll handle it.âÂ
Youâve thought about this more and more as you progress with your pregnancy. The fact that these babies will get to experience Joe from day one when Callie didnât. Thereâs undeniable unfairness, and should she ever want to know just why Joe was MIA at the beginning, you will be honest with her.
Youâll make sure she knows that it was you who decided to keep her a secret from her father. How specific youâll get will depend on her age, but youâre not a fan of lying to and holding secrets from kids when it directly impacts them.
You know firsthand how thinking your dad didnât want to be around can fuck with someoneâs mental.
You wonât let that be the case with Callie.
Joe looks just as bothered, like he doesnât want you doing anything that could impact how Callie sees you. âYou donât have to do that.â
âOh, but I do and will, baby.â You place your hand to his cheek, his beard a little more outgrown and slightly unkempt as he truly relaxes in the embrace of vacation. âBecause thatâs one thing I never did and would never do. I never let anyone say any disrespectful shit about you not being in Callieâs life. Amir would try it a lot, and I shot him down every time.â
The mention of Amir brings a scowl to Joeâs handsome face. Itâs a bit of a distraction technique youâre grateful worked. This will also be a revisited topic over the years, clearly. âI donât know what the fuck you saw in him.â
Small smile on your face, you shrug, âheâs not ugly, and his dick was decent.â And before he can say anything smug and smart, âyours is better, duh. Why you think Iâm giving you all these kids, huh?â He smiles and shakes his head. âYou gotta have God tier dick for me to push out not one but gonna be four of your big headed ass children. Boy, I wish you would try to leave me. You gon be wrestling into your eighties with how much Iâll come for you in child support.â
He rolls his eyes and kisses your temple, âyou know Iâm not going anywhere and neither are you.â
âOf course not, who the hell is gonna want me with all these damn kids?â The topic at hand reminds you of the book on the side of your bed, the previous reason you two were taking a break from figuring out your approach for letting friends and family know about the courthouse wedding. âNow, we really need to start deciding on names. Iâm almost five months.â Pretty soon youâll be finding out the sexes of the babies. Itâs crazy to you how quickly this pregnancy is passing by, most likely due to the happiness you feel.Â
Time flies when life is good.Â
âDid you get Callieâs list?âÂ
He curses. âShit, I forgot.â
You wave him off. âNo worries.â Sitting further up in bed, you shout out, âCallie Bear! Bring us your list for baby names!âÂ
She doesnât say anything, and you start to try again when she comes running into the room, Disney notebook in one hand and her American Doll in the other. She doesnât hesitate to climb onto the bed and sit on her knees at the end, âhere you go, mommy!â
You accept her notebook thatâs already opened to her list of potential baby names that she came up with. âThank you, baby.â Callie switches to sitting with her legs crossed, her doll that looks just like her, courtesy of her rich ass daddy, smack dab in the middle. âLetâs see.â
A smile falls on your face as you share the notebook with Joe, pointing out the first name that he also smiles at.Â
âMoana.â Predictable. So predictable. âMaui. Hei Hei. Tamatoa.â Joe coughs beside you to clearly hold in his laugh. âBabyâŠ.are these all names from Moana?â
Callie nods happily. âAnd Toy Story and Encanto and The Little Mermaid,â she essentially continues to sing-song list off damn near every Disney movie ever created. âThe babies have to like Disney too, mommy! Like me, you, and Grandma.â
âYouâre so right.â To be fair, you really shouldnât have expected too much more. She is one Disney loving kid, through and through. âWell, thank you so much for the list, Callie Bear.â
âDaddy, did you make a list?â She asks, head tilted as she gently caresses the top of her dollâs head.
âNot yet, baby. Mommy and I are gonna make one together.âÂ
âI like baby Moana.âÂ
He chuckles. âBut youâre our little Moana.â
She pouts and corrects, âno, Iâm Callie.â Her sass makes you laugh. Joe wasnât entirely wrong. She really is a lot like you sometimes. âI want a baby sister named Moana.â
âWhat if theyâre all boys?â
You and Callie have similar reactions. Itâs just that yours is one of horror and hers is more of shock.
âNoooo, I want a little sister.âÂ
Adding onto Callieâs vehement protest, you make your own strong thoughts and feelings known. âAnd I am not pushing out three boys at once, Joe. You done lost your godââ
âWhat do you want for your birthday, Callie Bear?â Youâre partially thankful for the save but also irritated heâs asking this question he already knows is gonna generate a wild ass answer.
âA puppy!â
See.
You do your best to use the perfect combination of understanding yet assertiveness. âBaby, we done had this conversation before, we are not getting a puppy until youâre at least ten.â
âBut, Iâll be old!â
âExactly, old enough to take care of a puppy.â One look at Joe, and you can see heâs about to open his mouth and probably find some reason to âagreeâ with or at least defend Callieâs request. âAbsolutely not. No dog until sheâs older, and thatâs final.â
Callie, understandably, does not agree nor like this rule, and itâs evident in her deep pout and the way she crosses her arms over her little body. âNot fair.â
âLife ainât fair, buttercup.â You retort, quickly reminding her as you take in her appearance. âSpeaking of, itâs almost time for your wash dayâŠ.â
The infamous, dreaded day of nonstop hair washing and styling is enough to wipe her smile away and award her a brand new reason to start whining, âI donât want to.â
The feeling is mutual. âNeither does mommy, but we gotta do it eventually, Callie Bear.â Looking over at Joe, you inform him, âand you will be present for this ordeal, sir, so you can learn how to do her hair for me.â
He looks confused, nose turned up. A chuckle is withheld at how much he and his daughter mimic each other in this situation. âBaby, I donât know how to do hair.â
Sucking your teeth, you smartly point out, âyou do your own!â
âI barely do anything with my hair. You know this.âÂ
Damn. Heâs right. Lucky ass. âRegardless, when I get too big to be bending over the sink like that, someoneâs gonna have to do it.â
Of course, Joeâs smartass just decides to throw out something that should probably be discussed before saying around Callie, âIâll take her to your mom.â
Callieâs eyes light up a bit. âGrandma!â
âJoe.â Lord, this man got too much money or something. âYou seriously are going to fly our daughter out to my hometown so my mama can do her hair?â
He shrugs, clearly not seeing an issue with whatâs being proposed. âYeah.â
Rolling your eyes and shaking your head, you lean further back in the pillows of the bed. âYou are tooââ However, youâre cut short mid-sentence, face and chest dropping simultaneously, the change in your disposition enough to catch Joeâs attention.Â
âWhatâs wrong?â Heâs sitting up even more, expertly masking the concern thatâs growing by the second. Recognizing this, you will that small smile to start forming on your face, shaking your head as you motion for him and Callie to move closer.
âMommy?â Callie is just as confused as you reach for both her and Joeâs hands, placing them on your belly, trying to find the spot of origin. âWhatââ
This time, sheâs the one to stop mid-sentence as she feels it, the sensation you last felt when you were pregnant with her. Callieâs face is still set with understandable confusion, but your gaze on Joe reveals minimal concern and an abundance of amazement.Â
âWhat is that, mommy?â Callie finally asks. The emotion in your throat takes you back a bit. Youâre not typically a super emotional person, but thereâs something about this moment, about feeling your babies kick for the first time and being able to share it with your fiance and child that does something to you. Knocks at those pillars that hold up your resolve.Â
âThatâs the babies. Theyâre kicking.â You explain, smiling a bit as Callie looks at you in horror.
âWhy are they hurting you?â
âTheyâre not, sweetie. Thatâs what babies do. As they get bigger and grow, they need to move around and sometimes kick. You did the same thing to me.â Adding some playfulness into your voice, thereâs a level of relief to see she appears less concerned.Â
Your attention, however, is brought back to Joe as he kisses your temple, hand still planted on your stomach, clearly soaking up every bit of this precious, cherished moment.Â
âI love you,â he murmurs against your temple. Itâs such a simple statement, a little three letter sentence that means more than anyone could ever understand. Moving your hand to the side of his face, you both laugh as Callie moves her face to your stomach.Â
âDonât kick mommy too much, okay, little babies?â The determination on her face should be captured and locked away for safekeeping for the rest of time. âSheâs the bestest mommy ever and pretty and smart andââ
ââand still not getting you a puppy.â While your daughter is undoubtedly one of the sweetest kids youâve ever come across, sheâs also intelligent as hell. And you know her like the back of your hand. Enough to know where sheâs headed with this.Â
And, youâre proven correct when she rolls her eyes again, making a âhmmphâ sound that has Joe chuckling next to you. She then sets her little plotting sights on Joe as she takes her hand from your stomach and moves to crawl into his lap.
You have to keep yourself from rolling your own eyes as she pulls out that sickeningly sweet voice and holds onto his shirt. âDaddy?â
Joe doesnât hesitate to answer right away. âYes, baby?â One look at him, and you already know what the answer is going to be. This man is so weak for this little girl. Itâs not even funny.Â
âHallie wants a friendâŠ..â Joeâs eyebrows cave in confusion as he looks over at you.Â
Gesturing to her American Girl doll on the edge of the bed, you fill him in, âthatâs what she named the doll.âÂ
He chuckles, clearly amused by the name that rhymes with hers. âShe does?â
Callie nods, that excitement building back up. âTwo friends!â
Mouth dropping, you prepare to put this child in her place when Daddy Warbucks beats you to it, living up to his reputation.
âWell, then we need to get her two friends.â
âYay!â Callie celebrates, hugging Joe who ignores your look of disapproval. âCan I make her friends too?âÂ
And once again, the first living, breathing bank to ever exist is quick to fold. âOf course, Callie Bear.â
âYay!â She cheers yet again for another way too easy battle. Itâs not even a battle at this point. Battle would mean that both parties have somewhat of a chance, and Joe is clearly putty for his little girl. âThank you, daddy.â She seals the deal with a hug and kiss on his cheek before climbing off the bed, grabbing Hallie as she shares, âIâm gonna make them now!â
With her tablet, clearly. The tablet youâd bet any money Joe once again disabled the time limits on.Â
Lord, youâre about to have five damn children to take care of at this point.Â
Itâs only when Callie is out of the room and on her way to celebrate yet another successful day of finessing her daddy that you punch this man in his big ass arm.Â
âWhat?â Itâs him having the audacity to sound and look confused that has you ready to kick him out of the room.Â
âWhat do you mean what?â Angling your body more toward him, you explain, âJoe, why are you buying her more dolls? American Girl dolls, at that. I know you must have paid at least $300 for the first one you got her. I saw all them accessories.â He rolls his eyes but doesnât deny it, because he canât. Callie had always asked you for one, and while you could have scraped some money together to make it happen, you couldnât come to grips with just how many other more useful things one could do with that money. âShe doesnât need them dolls, babe.â
âYou gonâ let her get a puppy now?â
An easy ass answer. âHell no.â
He has the nerve to catch a slight attitude with you as he affirms, âthen sheâs getting the dolls.â
Rubbing your temples, you realize this isnât a âfightâ youâre not going to win. âYou know what, whatever. You do what you want, but Iâm telling you right now, theseââ You bring his hand back to your belly. ââbabies are not going to be spoiled like their big sister. They gon be like Oliver Twist and grateful for a bowl of soup.â
He moves his hand around, probably trying to see if he can feel any more movement. âCallie is grateful.â
âFor now.â Not really wanting to have this circular dialogue with him, you grab your phone to see a couple missed texts but open the one from your mom first, instantly rolling your eyes. âNot this again.â
The shift in your voice catches Joeâs attention. âWhat?â
Shaking your head, you show him the thread, thumb right next to the link for an article on âmelanin maternal mental healthâ.Â
Talk about fucking alliteration.Â
âI donât know whatâs been up with her lately, but sheâs been sending me all these links for articles and like motivational photos about mental health and motherhood.â You explain to him, going to heart the message and send a quick response to at least show some appreciation. Because there is a little there. That your mom cares about you so much. But the concern isnât necessarily valid or needed..
This is the happiest youâve been in some time. A long time. If ever.
Nothing is going to change that.
Especially being a mother to three more children.Â
Placing your phone back on the nightstand, a glance at Joe reveals heâs debating something. âWhat?â
He moves closer to you, hand pushing back some of your coils. âBeen thinking about that movie thingâŠ..â
The smile on your face grows as you move closer, eyes twinkling with all the curiosity in the world. âWhat did you decide?â
â------
Megan is having a wonderful day.
One of the best sheâs had in a while.
Not only did she manage to wake up on time, but the coffee she ordered from this cute little cafe she found while on a business trip in Denver a couple months ago awaited her on the outside of her apartment door when she got back from her pilates class the night before.
And thereâs few things she loves more than a delicious cup of morning Joe.
A smirk falls on her face as she hums âHere Comes the Brideâ while engaging in her extensive shower routine, admiring the expert work of her wax lady. Body hair has always been an absolute no. But, itâs when she moves the loofah across the weight of her heavy breast that Megan imagines hands and not her loofah. Big hands that would cup her boobs roughly as he forces her to turn around, slams her up against the shower wall and fucks her hard from behind, her moans and shouts of pleasure dancing across the tile, alerting everyone of just who owns this pussy.
Hand gliding down her wet, nude body, she keeps the vision going, slender thighs clenching together at the thought of him forcing her on her knees, his dick down the back of her throat, eyes watering as he mouth fucks her.
âJoeâŠ.â Thin fingers slip past wet folds as she realizes sheâs going to be a couple minutes late for work.
So worth it though.Â
Because Megan hasnât come like that in years. Her legs are practically wobbly as she finally exits the shower, bathroom mirror completely fogged to where she has to grab a towel to clear up a section so she can see herself.
The pink tinge of her cheek brings a sly smile to her face.Â
âI canât wait until we can be together, my loveâŠâ A sweep of sadness comes over her as she grabs her phone, admiring his handsome face on her lock screen and opens Apple Music to play his entrance music, selecting the repeat button before she continues with her routine.Â
It takes her about the usual time.
And soon enough, Megan is out the door, having finished her delicious coffee and opted to just have a banana for breakfast. Thereâs no time for unnecessary caloric intake.
She has to start preparing for the wedding.Â
Walking into the office, right away, she can detect the almost sullen atmosphere and does her best to match the vibe.
To play along.Â
And before she can go to her office bestie, Paige, to âfind outâ why everything feels so off, the team is pulled in for a mandatory meeting.
Lukeâs quiet demeanor does take her a bit back. Heâs never quiet. Sheâs not complaining though. Not at all.
As soon as everyone is seated, he starts off with the general pleasantries that are weighed by the sadness in his voice. And then he gets into it. âI know some of you have heard, but for those who havenât, IâuhâI got some bad news.â He takes a deep breath, shaking his head. âThereâs uhâno way to say this, but Susan Jackson was found dead this morning.â
As an array of gasps and shocked countenances fill the room, Megan does her best to blend in, to play along with the genuine surprise of all of her coworkers.
Paige leans over to whisper to Megan, eyes also watery, âthey say she killed herself. That she was found her on the sidewalk in front of her apartment building. Window was open and everything.â
Megan expertly fakes a horrified expression. âOh my god, how heartbreaking.â She even manages to crank out some tears that donât shed but get the job done. âI canât believe sheâs goneâŠ.â
âMegan.â She lifts her head, eyebrows also raising. âI know you worked close with Susan on a couple of clients, and you also know she was set to assist Roman Reigns on his debut film, but with Susan goneâŠ.â
Megan shakes her head, pulling out a few sniffles. âItâs okay. IâllâŠ.Iâll do it. Iâll take Reigns as my client.â
And my husband.
Luke gives her a nod of appreciation, wiping at his eyes as he clears his throat and continues to address the room.
It takes almost everything in her not to roll her eyes. The woman was fucking fifty for crying out loud.Â
She lived long enough.Â
He says something about grief counseling, the suicide hotline, blah blah blah.
Megan does her best to listen but mostly tunes out the rest of the meeting. Itâs irrelevant. She has what she wants.
Now, itâs time to go after who she wants, the thought alone creating such an intense, euphoric feeling inside of her stomach as she casually traces the brand new tiny letter âJâ she now has tattooed on her ring finger.

Chills Right to the Marrow Part 35
ao3 link| part 1 . . . part 32, part 33, part 34
âSo, howâs living in the mansion?â Eddie asks. Stabbing at the Jello cup with a fork instead of trying to eat it.
âDonât think itâs officially a mansion. Itâs just a big house.â
Eddie looks at him skeptical. âSame thing.â
In all fairness, it hasnât been all that bad. Itâs been an adjustment, sure. Any move would do that. Especially one where he barely knew the roommate. But heâs been sleeping better than he has for weeks. Been taking better care of himself. Can do laundry without carting himself to the laundromat and shelling out a handful of quarters. Thereâs a kitchen where he can start cooking in again. A real couch to sit on and a table to eat at. He forgot how much he missed stuff like that.
âItâs fine,â he says. Really downplaying it.
Eddie nods, seeing through all of Wayneâs bullshit. His stubborn air to automatically dislike anything that he didnât do or buy himself.
âAnd living with Steve?â Eddie asks with hesitation. Â
Steve keeps to himself well. Gets up for work and leaves peacefully. Never making a big fuss, or really alerting Wayne that heâs there too much. Heâs quiet. A little too quiet sometimes.
Sometimes Wayne will wake up and thereâs coffee waiting for him in the kitchen. One time he walked in after a shift and Steve left him some food in the fridge. And thereâs always a note on the kitchen island letting Wayne know where he is. So, thereâs nothing to worry about.
âAlso fine,â Wayne responds.
Eddie almost sighs a breath of relief. Like he was hoping Wayne would like Steve. Would get along with him without a fuss. Like he hasnât been more than cordial with Steve ever since Eddie woke up. Theyâve already gotten along better that Wayne would have guessed.
But there was another layer to this. Wayne can approve of Steve as a friend, he certainly seems capable of doing that. The more that Eddie is secretly wanting though, that heâs not so sure.
Steveâs a fine kid. Just one with a reputation. Heartbreaker of Hawkins High. The one that every girl wanted to be with. Who got with everyone he could. It could be an exaggeration. It could be a bunch of bullshit rumors. Wayne wouldnât, or really want, to know. Steveâs personal life is his personal life. Heâs not inclined to share it.
But if that personal life comes back around and hurts his boy. Well, Steve should know what would happen about that.
âWhy are you looking at me like that?â Eddie suddenly averts his eyes. Finally eating the now massacred Jello.
âBecause I know you, and Iâve seen this look before. Didnât like it then and I donât like it now.â
Eddie clicks his tongue. âI donât know what youâre talking about.â
âDonât I?â Because he does. But it wouldnât hurt for him to be wrong sometimes.
âNo, you donât.â Eddie slams the Jello down on his tray as hard as he can. Just letting gravity assist him in making a point. He looks at Wayne with that anger in his eyes that Wayne would really like to avoid.
They donât need the first disagreement they have since Eddieâs accident to be in a hospital.
âAlright then,â Wayne backs down. âHowâs the physical therapy going?â
That starts a new rampage. But one with frustration not directed at Wayne. The doctor taking the fall of what Wayne started. Eddie getting frustrated at the way his limbs keep failing to do the things he once was able to. The way they stiffen up when he strains them too much. Or how the pain can just start shooting through and never stop. Not just for hours, maybe a day or two. Where the pain meds canât seem to dull them enough where Eddie can stop thinking about it.
It's hard to watch. Has been and will continue to be. There probably wonât be a day where Eddie will be the way he used to. Constantly in some sort of pain. Reminded of the moment his life changed forever.
The visiting hours end, and Wayne has to leave. It never gets easier, leaving. Just marks another tally of the endless line of days Eddieâs been in the hospital. It seems endless, anyway. Even with the talks of being discharged, it still feels like thereâs no hope.
He tries to find it. Tries to keep the candle lit for more than a few seconds. It doesnât always work. But heâs trying.
No matter how many times Wayne opens the front door of the Harrington house, it still doesnât feel real. Heâs been staying there for a week now, and each time the key slides into the lock, it feels like a dream. Or a really cruel prank.
But itâs real. All of this is.
âIf you get more flour in my hair, I swear to God,â Steveâs voice echoes down the hall.
âWell than stop making it so easy for me,â Robinâs voice, if Wayneâs remembering correctly, follows.
He unties his boots and places them on the floor mat by the front door. Being very careful to follow the one major rule that Steve had when it came to the house. It was easy enough to follow. He wanders down the hall and into the kitchen. Walking into a mess. Different measuring cups and spoons scattered around the island, small piles of flour and other dry ingredients surrounding it. A pile of dishes in the sink. The slight smell of something that was burnt.
Honestly, he likes it better this way. Reminds him of home.
âHi, Mr. Munson,â Robin chirps. Eating chocolate chips right out of the bag.
âOh hey,â Steve looks up from bowl he was mixing. âI didnât hear you come in.â
Wayne nods hello. âWhat are you making?â
âChocolate chip cookies,â Steve explains, looking toward Robin. âBecause someone wanted cookies but didnât want to do it herself.â
âWe didnât have any chocolate chips in the house,â Robin shrugs. Pouring another handful of chips into her mouth.
Steve rolls his eyes. âDidnât believe it the first time and I donât believe it now.â
He turns around to grab the baking sheets, leaving an opportunity for Robin to steal the spatula out of the bowl. Helping herself to raw cookie dough. Steve sighs when he turns around.
âShouldnât you also be scared of salmonella, Miss âRabies is like my number one biggest fear?ââ he snarks, searching in the drawer for an ice cream scoop.
âRabies and salmonella are two very different things.â Robin continues to eat the batter off of the spoon. âHowâs Eddie?â she asks, directed toward Wayne.
âBetter,â he says with more confidence than he feels. Not being able to ignore the way Steve perks up when Eddieâs name is mentioned.
âThatâs good,â Steve says. The gentle click of the ice cream scoop filling the break of silence.
Wayne nods. Feeling the need to cross his arms. âYeah. The doctor says if he keeps his progress steady over the next week, he should be able to come home.â
Steve and Robin look at him with mirrored hope.
âThat-thatâs really good,â Steve smiles. âItâll be nice seeing him outside of the hospital.â
âAnd hiding,â Robin adds. Throwing the spatula in the sink.
Wayne nods. Still feeling out the awkwardness of these interactions. âIâm going to turn in, just wanted to say hello.â
âLet us know if weâre being too loud. I can always kick her out.â
âHey.â Robin slaps Steveâs arm.
âNight,â Wayne leaves the room. Swallowing a laugh.

home meals with you! . . .
featuring â aventurine x gn!reader
synopsis: there was a lot going on in his head... perhaps he thought, your cooking was too good for him, and he never deserved you at all...
consist of: 1k2+ word vomit... aventurine is a nervous emotional wreck, and if i say it's angst to fluff would you believe me? mentions of food, and marriage (champagne problems referred iykyk), domestic life w aven.
sincere regards to my pookie @akutasoda for helping me brainstorm an idea and proofreading; my favourite aventurine kisser @theother-victoria for proofreading <33
quality time was the love language that AVENTURINE did not know that he possessed. he never knew a thing or two of the reason why or when it started, but when he stirred awake by the warmth of sunlight streaming down his face, patting on the mattress beside him then found it empty, he'd end up dozing off again on his belly in your secured arms when he found you by the living room's couch; his weekend was dedicated to you, and he just wanted you with him, to selfishly ask for the affection that you showered on him always and think it would never be enough.
spoiling you until he's broken broke is what aventurine concepts. to him, gift giving is the effortless love language that he can express, whilst the four remains never worked out on the aventurine who lived in the orbit of lies and contract. he thought that it'll be easier that way, and he is slowly letting love once again thaw away his dense heart, and the one who did it so perfectly, much to his expectations, was you. then, to his surprise, the idea of you demanding shiny, glamorous luxuries or brands vanished when he found himself with you in the oti mall, browsing by the groceries, picking up the fresh ingredients of your liking, instead.
"i love homemade meals," you told him â and aventurine couldn't help the fond smile he was wearing when he looked at you tiptoeing to reach the higher shelves for the pasta box of your favourite and the childish excitement in your eyes as you skip back to him to show him what you got. and then suddenly, aventurine feels like he loves homemade meals, too.
does the image of you â putting your hand around his arm, aimlessly strolling through the shop while he was pushing the cart, your thoughts were elsewhere between the ingredients of the upcoming meal and never noticing that you were making his stomach churn â thrive him? i bet it does. because he can not concentrate, his eyes fixed on you, nodding mindlessly to whatever you're planning to make tonight (it doesn't matter because he will swallow it whole) then find the lamest excuses to kiss you, your hair, your face to satisfy his most intrusive demands. you are the biggest treasure that he has ever prevailed, he noted. you were trusting him entirely, giving unconditional love, staying by his side. how can he possibly live without you? you're driving him nuts!
and when aventurine's tongue touched the first bite of anything you made, sweets or savouries, he imagined filling his stomach full with your unyielding love, the one that undoubtedly never failed to remind him that he was yours truly to be cherished, to be taken care of. undeserving of you? yes, inevitably, or maybe that was just his thoughts; so aventurine found himself savouring every moment with you in the kitchen, invading your attempts to cook and stealing kisses, he knew he was going to dedicate the rest of his life to the person he intended to marry and to love you harder than you do to him.
aventurine never dares to dream about a family with you, he couldn't bring himself to crave it when the past of failing to protect his own in sigonia haunted him like some sort of ghost, everything feels illegal. the thoughts exiled the golden boy in prison of indecision and despair,... and then he stumbles upon the last words leaving his mouth when you mention wanting a betrothal life with him. he didn't feel ready yet â he'd fail you, (at first!), and it was disheartening. you said you understood and were there with him the entire time, but aventurine knew he was the problem, not you.
aventurine wanted to confide in you that he would be lying if he said his eyes weren't tearing up at the sight of you waiting patiently until he is ready, until he surpassed all of his trauma and reached his final decision. he knew he never deserved you, no matter how hard you'd been trying to make him feel like he did, he would then die for you, gambled all of his existence over again just to lose it all to your overpower love.
aventurine was a coward, he claimed. he couldn't bring his messed up life that once considered so insignificant that it was traded as some goods up for auction, and a chip he brought to bet in his high stakes with treacherous risks to dedicate to you, it was unfair for you, he couldn't be selfish. it was excruciating that he couldn't refrain himself from basking in your unconditional love, even if, to him, it was forbidden.
and when he had you pressed against the wall, aventurine lifted your chin up and kissed you fiercely with the best of gratitude and love, mostly to shut you up and to soothe his aching heart when he heard you repeat that you understood with that agonizing voice once again, aventurine said he was sorry, that he would do better and sort this out quickly to make everything up to you properly. it pained him to see you wait so voluntarily for him, he was trapped with hesitation, between letting himself love you with his entirely heart and the thought that you'd definitely deserve someone better than him?
but when on a beautiful friday, aventurine's heart burned selfishly with the swelling sight of you, wearing an apron so breathtakingly, humming to your favourite song on the phone sat beside the counter, the delicious aroma you're stirring filled his senses, his breath hitched, it felt like as if you had already been his spouse, cooking dinner, waiting for their husband to be home, and to his utmost selfish thought that spoke louder than all of his logical minds, just, what if... someday you got tired and gave up on him? would he be able to see you looking like this ever again?
"Kakavasha..."
he opened his eyes, the real name of his that you let slip so easily from your soft lips felt like a salvation; he hummed in response, gently holding your hand on his face as you looked down at the sleepy man on your lap. aventurine caressed the shiny cold material with a small exclusive gem he selected himself attatched on top of it that wrapped perfectly around your ring finger, contentment was written all across his face. ah, yes... he has been sleeping in his spouse's lap, no?
"can you please get up? it's almost past lunch and we haven't had anything properly," you sigh, the chuckle you let out helplessly.
aventurine stirred slightly before lazily sitting up, scooting closer and snaking his arms around you, holding you snuggled against him while he buried his face in your hair, sinking entirely in your presence.
"mhm... sit still. just a little longer. lunch can wait, i'll swallow them whole everything you make, anyway."
So if, once again, your husband dozed off on your lap on a calming sunday morning, make sure to do something with it. if not, please be prepared and stay strong with a clear mind or you'd end up getting charmed by his antics which he knew so well that it touched right in the soft spot for only him in you. (or you might as well pay him back with your own cooking technique, one of the reasons he married you home and loved you so good...)

Thinking about Morpheus making you ride him as punishment :(
Authorâs note: oh my god the season 2 behind the scenes look has me screaming, Iâm so excited. I need him back in my life.
18+ nsfw, fem reader, slight bondage
Morpheus is nothing if not an attentive lover, always putting your pleasure first. While youâre in his realm, you donât have to lift a finger, donât have to want for anything. He provides.
And while he spends long stretches ravaging you, of taking you apart piece by piece via his long fingers stroking your clit until you squirm and cry for him, or fingering you while your gush around his lithe digits, thereâs occasionally times where he finds youâŠchallenging.
That mouth of yours has a tendency to run rampant, undermining his authority. He is a king, a godâŠmore than a god; an endless. And to think a bratty little mortal like you has the audacity to be in his domain, his kingdom, and demand more of his time and energy? Well, you simply need a correction. A simple reminder of your place.
So thatâs why you find yourself straddling him, thighs burning as you move up and down. He looks every bit the king of dreams as he sits on his impressive throne, how high you both are allowing you to survey the room while you ride your lover to the best of your capabilities. An unseen force is keeping your hands pinned to the small of your back, not even giving you the slight relief of bracing your weight on his thighs or shoulders.
No, instead you simply have to rut against him, feeling every bit like a concubine, pleasing your ruler.
âAre you getting tired my love? That cannot be the case Iâm sure, since you were so eager to have me earlier. QuiteâŠinsistent, were you not?â
You whine pitifully at his words, the ache of your limbs at the repetitive motions setting in. Morpheus doesnât have quite the same need to cum that you do, after all you both are in the dreaming, as much a part of him as he is of it. He can withhold his orgasm for as long as needed, which seems to be long enough that youâre soaking his lap with your needy juices.
âMaking a mess I see, so wanton.â He chastises, but still makes no effort to help you move.
âPleaseâŠâ
âHm?â He tilts his head, a neutral expression plastered on his regal features. âIs there something you need, dearest?â
God you just want to scream, but your outburst would most likely not help your situation, so you give him a particularly strong slam of your hips before batting your eyelashes. âPlease just fuck me.â
Instead of your desired response, he simply tuts. âYou misunderstand the situation. This isâŠcorrectional. Your penance if you will. After all, you were the one being especially mouthy while in my realm. So itâs only right you prove to me youâre worth the attentions of a king.â
He knows exactly what heâs doing, knows exactly how reminding you of his status above you makes you whine and clench your pussy around him. Your body is an instrument he is especially well versed in playing.
âPerhaps I have been too accommodating to your every whim and desire. I have created a spoilt thing it seems, so used to not putting in the work to achieve what she wants. This lesson is needed.â
Knowing no other way, you fight against your bodiesâ exhaustion to ride him with vigour, rolling your hips. Pleasant hums occasionally pass his lips, the minuscule praise like a drug as you move faster on his lap.
You must get too carried away, as he gives your hip a light slap. âNow now, do not allow yourself to get carried away. Remember, itâs rhythm that is important in sexual situations such as this. Not just how fast you can move your hips on me.â
At his reprimanding, you nod your understanding and mutter a soft apology, building a rhythm that works. The sheer fact youâre riding him on his throne, in his throne room, really settles in. Anyone could walk in, heaven forbid Matthew flies in and gets the shock of his (after)life.
But you canât deny how much it turns you on, to be dream of the endlessâs favourite mortal, his favourite little pet to entertain him. Itâs almost power in a strange sort of way, but it thrills you nonetheless.
Eventually, your loverâs hips start to move up in time with your thrusts, causing the breath to leave your lungs quickly. Your hands are released, and you quickly move them to his shoulders, feeling the material of his black cloak under your fingertips.
âTouch yourself. Feel the pleasure that I allow you to take.â
You donât need to be told twice, fingers hurriedly rubbing circles on your clit as he fucks up into you with tenacity. âPleaseâŠcan I cum?â
âYou can do better.â
A moan rips its way from your lips before you can stop it. âPleaseâŠplease my king, I need to cum. Please let me cum, I wonât talk back again, Iâll be so goodâŠplease.â
A trace of a smirk tugs on his lips, and he gives a simple nod of his head. Blue eyes trace over your trembling form as you finish all over his lap. A few thrusts later, heâs buried to the hilt inside of your weeping cunt, filling you up. He allows you to slump against him, gentle fingers moving up and down your spine to soothe you, his release warm inside of your spent pussy.
âWas that to your enjoyment?â He mumbles lowly into your ear, and you canât help the girlish giggle you make as you nod against him. His smirk is now transformed into a soft smile, not allowing you to see this moment of vulnerability as he presses kisses to your hairline.
âDo not make such demands of me again, unless you want your next punishment to not involve climax for you at all.â

Black Myth: Wukong
More brainrot commentary because I'M NOWHERE NEAR DONE WITH GOING INSANE OVER THIS MONKE GAME.
Cursed texts and massive spoilers bellow. Lots of random bits and wee woo wee woo.
First of all, YEEESSS to everything well written big budget media with heavy cultural elements that isn't western centric. Love it đ, a thousand more like this please.
HONESTLY can't get enough of the character designs. Watching the old tv show in my childhood got me imagining the JTTW characters as these cute human with animal ears. But since the game took a more serious and darker tone they took the character design to 1000. So many memorable characters with distinct style, drip, and combat.
Ok so whose idea was it to make some of the plants sentient and will beat your ass for daring to pick them up. I now have trust issues with ginseng and mushrooms
The toad bosses reminds me of Gamabunta. For a moment they also gave me a war flashback of Jedi Survivor's Oggdo-Bogdo, I want those things vaporised from earth đ«đ«
Kang-Jin darkening the environment during her second stage, I legit thought it was a problem with my screen, until I found out other players had it too lmao. Also looove her design, silver loong with holographic glow, prettiest loong in the game
Boss musics are so LIT, I've been looping them for weeks
The Scorpionlord. First I saw him I was like HANZO HASASHI :DD??? But instead of hellfire, this time he uses venom. And the fact that the environments have autumn palette, connects me to MK 11 Shirai Ryu fire garden arena lol
an NPC called Starved Abomination. The name really sends me because ngl it's a relatable concept, I too became an abomination whenever I'm starving.
To punish Wukong for his lifetime worth of trash-talking, the game now choose The Destined One as shy and doesn't talk much except for when he screams during fights. All my grievances of expecting him to be chatty and noisy actually works out the more I understand the story. And turns out it was all part of his journey, you are meant to complete him by collecting Wukong's scattered senses. Lil introverted fur-ball of scream I love you so much. Since the NG+++ Wukong stance actually gave him voicelines, I'm guessing the Destined One is going to complete his development in actually becoming Wukong in the DLC.
Everyone and I mean EVERYONE had a beef with Wukong and now we gotta pick up after his mess. My poor Destined One walked into an area completely clueless and suddenly everyone is jumping on him because "REMEMBER THE THING YOU DID TO ME A FEW HUNDRED YEARS AGO??? WELL FUK YOU, NOW DIE."
~
đ±Yin Tigerđ±. First time I met him I was like ohhh who are you, you look so cool and kinda cute tho, look at those big boba eyes, pspspsps.
He's all busy with his hammer and zabuza sword, thinks you're so annoying for bothering his work. Then there's this "challenge" option and suddenly he rose and casually tossed his hammer to the ground, I was like wait I was just joking aYO I WAS JUST JOKING-, then proceeds to delete my HP in 30 seconds. Anyway I love how he appears big and heavy and yet moves so swiftly. Of ALL the tiger bosses in this game, imo he's the coolest and THE SANEST. I still can''t get over the Tiger Vanguard and Mad Tiger trauma, those orange cats are on a whole new level of insanity.
đ·ïžFourth Spider Sisterđ·ïž. I'm actually so INVESTED in her mystery, like why are you helping me? Why do you look so sad? Are those tear stains on your cheeks?? Why did the Immortal Crane said that I'm giving you "false hopes"? What were we in the previous life?
"Think about her, won't you? Should you feel like stirring trouble in your next life." WHAT DOES THIS MEAN, TELL ME. SHE SEEMS SO NICE THO, she's just a sad goth girl what did she do?? What did WE do?? And her journal entry is so interesting.
đYellow Loongđ. LISTEN.... I literally had to pause for a moment when I saw him. Cutscene plays and I was like Oohh it's going to be that type of charismatic character reciting monologue, and then I saw his name and it's THE YELLOW LOONG??? This suave horned man is The Yellow Loong??
Well damn I have to say that's one handsome loong. He's one of those elegant style fighters, my favourite genre, up there with Whiteclad Noble and Erlang Shen.
đïžErlang ShenâĄ. The way I turned up the volume when I heard Andrew Koji's Erlang voice.....It's just so.......pleasant to hear. Something about the way he did his voice, the smug taunts, the gentle almost-whispers, and the gROWLS???
I can't even with the entirety of Erlang's character design in this game, because dAMN BOI what a BEAUTY. I thought the game was going to make his appearance more mature looking, or even scarier, because that's just how it is with game character design formula, especially in games like this. But NOOOOO..... they made him ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. His face, his voice, HIS MOVESS, the way they designed his martial arts so elegantly. When you perfect dodge everything with him, it really feels like a dance. I have to note that when sometimes you tried heavy attack on him aND HE SIMPLY JUST-.... took one step to the side.... THE ABSOLUTE SLAYYY DISRESPECTđ
đ
. Welcome back Isshin from Sekiro.
Also I just found out that depending on what transformation you're using, he's going to react differently on each. Particularly interesting one was when you use Azure Dust. Most of the time, when you transform, he's going to transform too and chances are he's going to one-shot you out of the transformation. He doesn't do that with Azure Dust for some reason, instead he got amused because Lmao returning back to your origin?. And this line, "Walking his path is no easy feat, it will test you relentlessly". SOMETHING SOMETHING ABOUT ERLANG HAVING THIS HIDDEN BURDEN THROUGHOUT THE PLOT IS DRIVING ME INSANE, I NEED THE DLC TO EXPLORE HIS CHARACTER MORE I'M BEGGING YOU GAME SCIENCE. You can't leave me hanging with his journal entry please I want him to have some peace and closure.
Powerful quiet character with hidden struggle, the bane of my existence, my beloved.
âïžđThe Four Heavenly KingsđžđĄïž. MAN I love these guys, their fight feels so rewarding somehow, because after all those struggles with Erlang, they feel more like a reward battle for visual entertainment.
Aside from being relatively easy, they're just so fun to watch. I keep wanting to stall the fight just to see what move sets they could perform because their coordinated attacks are just SO COOL.
South king throwing the sword at us, joined by the West king throwing punches, and then the West king passing the sword back to South king. That brief moment of them passing weapons, they need to do more of that, so sick.
The North king combo with every other kings. The West jumping up using the North's umbrella, summoned the dragon, the South yeeting the sword, and the East buffing up the umbrella thrust attack with his Pipa magic. I'd hate to be a normal human citizen under them during that scene GODDAMN. I'd say the West is the game's favourite king because he's the one with the most screentime. He's the one with distinct glowing eyes and he was the most visible behind Erlang during the opening. The North being the coolest because WTF WAS THAT TYPHOON UMBRELLA WITH THE WEST'S DRAGON ROLLING WITH IT, AND THE MUSIC QUE, ABSOLUT CINEMA. The East probably being the chillest of them all because my man was just serenading the fight yo, I like how his fingers actually moves accurately playing the BGM. I know they're on the heaven's side, but for some reason I want them to be on our side if it's possible in the DLC. If we could get Erlang, then surely we can get them? They're too epic not to have.
đTHE GREAT SAGE'S BROKEN SHELLđ
THE MONKEY, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND. SUN. WU. KONG. THE SCREAM I SCRUMPT WHEN THIS MF SHOWED UP ON SCREEN. TEARFUL CHEER AND AND UNIMAGINABLE TERROR. AND WITH THAT BITS OF THE OG TV SHOW THEME MOTIF PLAYING WHEN HE SUMMONED JINGU BANG.
Who would've thought that we're going to fight our former self as a literal your greatest enemy is yourself concept. Like yO IT'S THE G HIMSELF WUKONG but now FUK I HAVE TO FIGHT HIM?? Look, sir, Mr. Great Sage, I know I've been playing around as you and I don't even know what I'm doing, I'M SORRY.
So now we're fighting zombie Wukong. He's literally soulless inside and his voice sounds demonic. YET STILL he radiates that lively asshole energy. You try pillar stance to get away from him, he does the same but his pillar is TALLER than yours. You try to walk off calmly, he does the same but then taunts you for it, eats a peach and then flicks the seed to your head. Kicks you to the sky and transforms his jingu bang into a pillar and plants it to the ground with you under it. He cheats by summoning kintoun and body slammed you. He summoned his clones to kick you in all directions only for the original Wukong to wait on the side yawning, then he kicks your jingu bang back at you like "pick it up bitch", and taunts you with his hand gesture to come at him. Ok now you're raging and you tried to pillar stance heavy attack at him, he's like "shut yo bitch-" and GRABBED YOUR JINGU BANG WITH YOU STILL HOLDING ON TO IT AND STARTS USING YOU AS A FLY SWATTER. Just as you think that these suffering couldn't get any worse, you tried to heal and he IMMOBILISED YOU, SNATCHED YOUR GOURD AND TOOK A SIP, decided that it tastes like shit and threw it back at you. Now THIS is the little shit that I know and love.
The whole time you tried to do a move against him, he returned the favour but better. You think your staff extension is long? Ok he'll extend his staff to a kilometer, and that's STILL him holding back. You can do ring of fire? His is bigger in diameter and burns brighter. The game had to nerf out his lore accurate skills because it's just so atrociously OP.
Ok so you finally defeated him? Just as he got dusted away he still managed to croak a last laugh.
Que good ending animated cutscene with the JTTW plot in reverse serenaded with Celestial Symphony. Happy onions, happy onions tearing up the eyes. Crank the volume up, it's all coming together. That's Ba Jie, that's Sanzang, that's Wujing, that's horse.
MMMMMMM MONKE.

I walked through the door with you, the air was cold But something 'bout it felt like home somehow And I left my scarf there at your sister's house And you've still got it in your drawer even now Oh, your sweet disposition and my wide-eyed gaze We're singing in the car, getting lost Upstate Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place And I can picture it after all these days And I know it's long gone And that magic's not here no more And I might be okay But I'm not fine at all 'Cause there we are again on that little town street You almost ran the red 'cause you were looking over at me Wind in my hair, I was there, I remember it all too well Photo album on the counter, your cheeks were turning red You used to be a little kid with glasses in a twin-sized bed And your mother's telling stories 'bout you on a tee-ball team You tell me 'bout your past, thinking your future was me And I know it's long gone And there was nothing else I could do And I forget about you long enough To forget why I needed to 'Cause there we are again in the middle of the night We're dancing 'round the kitchen in the refrigerator light Down the stairs, I was there, I remember it all too well, yeah Maybe we got lost in translation, maybe I asked for too much But maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up Running scared, I was there, I remember it all too well And you call me up again just to break me like a promise So casually cruel in the name of being honest I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here 'Cause I remember it all, all, all... too well Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it I'd like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone But you keep my old scarf from that very first week 'Cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me You can't get rid of it 'cause you remember it all too well, yeah 'Cause there we are again, when I loved you so Back before you lost the one real thing you've ever known It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well Wind in my hair, you were there, you remember it all Down the stairs, you were there, you remember it all It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well

Finding Love in a Zombie Apocalypse - A JJK Interactive Romance Fanfic Round 2
Read the details about this event here!
During a zombie apocalypse, you meet a group of seven handsome men. Which one will you choose to be your survival/romantic partner?
Vote for the man you want to be eliminated! The man with the most votes will not be killed off in the story, but he will be removed from all future polls and his branching story will be closed off!
Reminder: Vote for the man you DO NOT want to survive with! You are voting someone OUT!
For the first two rounds, Iâm not naming the men. You can probably figure out who is who, but thatâs part of the fun! Iâm doing it this way to encourage readers to vote based on the scenario rather than just automatically voting out their least fave character. Feel free to make guesses about who each man is!
In Round 1, Man #1, Choso, was eliminated!
Dividers by @animatedglittergraphics-n-more!
Youâve decided to stick with this group for the time being. Theyâre a nice mix of strong, smart, and caring. None of them come across as creepy or make you uncomfortable, which is saying a lot considering itâs a group made up entirely of men relatively close to your age.Â
You spend the evening gathering what supplies you need into a duffel bag you found in the storeâs rather scant sporting goods section. At night, one of them insisted you sleep in the stock room and keep the key until morning. He really was very considerate, and none of the others objected.Â
The next day, someone makes coffee in the break room. You donât know which one did it, but itâs the first cup youâve had in over a week and tastes delicious. With foam cup in hand, you walk over to the front entrance to check the situation outside, only to find the man who called out to you yesterday keeping watch.
Man #1: Choso (Eliminated in Round 1)
Heâs standing near the door, slightly to the side, still as a statue until you approach.Â
âWant me to bring you some coffee?â you ask, taking a sip from your cup.Â
He smiles at you. âThanks, but I had some already.â
You gesture toward the entrance. âAnything new going on out there?â
âNo, just a dozen or so zombies roaming around,â he replies. âThey come close to the door sometimes, but with these tinted windows they canât see much of whatâs inside.â
You hadnât realized they were tinted until he mentioned it, but you suppose thatâs why everything looks so dreary outside.Â
As you stare out the window, you notice something in the distance. You squint your eyes, trying to make out if itâs just another zombie or something else. As you watch, the figure picks up speed, breaking into a run.Â
âLook! Thereâs someone out there!â you shout, pointing to the figure fleeing toward the store.Â
The man beside you looks out through the glass door. âItâs definitely a living person!â
Behind the figure, a large group of zombies, perhaps the biggest group youâve seen, is slowly giving chase. The figure stumbles, hits the ground, and you feel your heart race. Youâve witnessed zombie attacks before, but itâs always disturbing. And you canât help thinking that this could easily have been you yesterday.Â
You want to open the door and beckon the figure, but thatâs not your call to make. Youâre a guest with this group, and you donât have the right to put their safety at risk.Â
Thankfully, the kind hearted man beside you makes that choice. He flings the door open and calls out, âHey! Run this way! To the grocery store!âÂ
The figure looks up, and from this distance they appear to be a young man. He scrambles to his feet and breaks into another run, a desperate dash for the store.Â
You and the man both yell out to him, encouraging him to hurry and keep going. Just as he runs through the door, two zombies that must have been close to the entrance follow him in, shambling into the store.
Man #2:
Before anyone else can react, the large, imposing man who tore the zombies off you yesterday runs by you. With his bare hands he picks up the first zombie by the neck and literally throws it outside. Then he delivers a devastating punch to the second zombieâs head, knocking it clean off its shoulders.Â
You yelp in surprise, having never seen someone kill a zombie in such a way before. Someone closes the door and locks it, but the herd of zombies definitely saw the young man run inside, because theyâre heading straight for the store.Â
Backing away from the door, you glance at the man who took care of the two zombies. âDo you think the glass will hold?â
He doesnât seem the least bit scared. âProbably not against a horde like that.â
âWhat should we do?â you ask, trying not to sound panicked as the zombies close in.Â
He grins. âYou should run when they break in. Iâll tear the fuckers apart.â
Uncertain whether that statement is comforting or alarming, you turn to look at the newcomer. Heâs a teenager, probably around sixteen, and heâs panting to catch his breath.Â
You walk over to him. âAre you alright?â
He looks up at you, and his face is twisted in horror. âIâm so sorry!â he yells, tears in his eyes. âI shouldnât have come in here!â
âItâs alright,â you tell him, reaching your hand out to pat his shoulder. âWeâll figure something out. Weâll-â
He swats your hand away. âDonât! I⊠Iâve beenâŠâ his voice dies in his throat, and he pulls up the sleeve of his shirt, displaying a messy bite wound.
You inhale sharply, your heart sinking at the sight. Heâs just a kid! âHow long ago?â you ask. Youâve heard rumors that severing a limb with a bite will stop the spread of the virus, but it has to be done quickly.Â
âYesterday,â he answers.Â
The man who fought the zombies steps up beside you. âToo long,â he says, his eyes narrowed as he looks at the wound. âWe should probably throw him out. Heâs no good to us.â
You look at him incredulously. âWe canât do that!â
Man #3:
The man you spoke to yesterday who seemed like a leader, who was clearly a planner, walks over. He looks at the boy, then at you. âWeâll need to discuss this,â he says.Â
âDiscuss what? What are the options here?â you ask him. âLet him stay or toss him out there to be eaten alive?!â
The manâs smooth expression doesnât change. âThose arenât the only options. We could tie him up, lock him in the break room, or even give him a quick and painless death.â
You feel your outrage subsiding. Those sound much more reasonable. Youâre surprised he can think so rationally in this situation. âOkay. Iâm sorry I snapped at you.â
He smiles that same charming, not-quite-genuine smile he gave you yesterday. âDonât be. Tensions are running high, so itâs understandable. Iâd worry more if you were the type to want to throw him out immediately.â
You sigh in relief, then turn toward the boy, who is still muttering apologies. âWhat would you like for us to do? Restrain you? Or⊠or make it so you donât turn?â
The boy looks up at you. âI donât want to turn! Please, donât let me end up like them! Iâd do it myself but Iâm too scared!â
Hearing such a young man say that is heartbreaking. But you understand. If you ever get bitten, you hope someone will kill you before letting you become a zombie, doomed to roam the earth, rotting and attacking others.Â
The man pulls a blade from a holster on his hip and approaches the boy. âAre you ready? Or do you need more time?â
The boy hesitates for a moment, then nods. âIâm ready. Please make it quick!â
The man pats him on the back affectionately. âYouâre very brave. You can rest easy now. Iâll make sure you donât suffer.â
The boy is staring at him, and seems comforted. âThanks,â he says with teary eyes.Â
You turn your head, unable to watch. You donât hear a sound. No scream, not even a grunt. It really must have been painless. When you look back, the man is easing the boyâs body to the floor. He looks thoughtful, maybe a little sad.Â
âIâm sorry you had to do that,â you say.Â
Heâs wiping his blade off on a handkerchief. âSomeone has to make the tough decisions, and then carry them out.â
You start to ask why that had to be him, but you remain silent. You donât like the way he seems to be taking all the darkness and sadness onto himself. But you have bigger things to worry about right now.
Man #4:Â
The man you saw standing guard yesterday, who said he wanted to go back to the city, is staring out the windows of the store, watching the growing horde approach. He doesnât seem scared, only annoyed, as if this is no more than a minor obstacle to his plans.Â
âIâm gonna get out of here,â he says, loud enough for the others to hear. âI donât have time to get held up.â
You look at him in shock. âYouâre just going to leave the rest of us?â
He looks at you dispassionately. âA group will draw their attention a lot more than a single person. Iâm not getting stuck with these guys.â
You look him up and down, at his sturdy physique. âBut, we need you.â
âYou ever stop to think that maybe someone else needs me?â
The question takes you aback. You have no answer for him. If heâs that desperate, if heâs willing to wade through countless zombies to get to the city, there must be someone very important to him there.Â
âCan you at least wait a little while?â you ask him. âThe zombies might give up and wander off if they canât see us through the tinted windows.â
The man sighs. âFine. Iâll see what happens.â
You look out at the horde. The first few zombies have reached the front of the store and are clawing at the windows and doors. You shudder as you watch them. Youâve never seen so many before, or so close up in a situation where you can actually get a good look at them. If one is close, youâre usually fleeing or trying to kill it.Â
Theyâre all staring straight ahead, seemingly at nothing. Can they see their own reflections in the glass? Can they even perceive themselves? Seeing them just leaves you feeling empty and sad.Â
âDo me a favor,â the man says. âIf I ever get bitten, put a bullet in my fucking brain.â
You nod. âSame,â you say.
Man #5:Â
The man who gave you the tip yesterday about using duck tape on your arms steps over to the windows to survey the situation. He already has his arms wrapped in a layer of the tape, over top of his sleeves. A few of the others notice, and begin wrapping their own limbs in tape or thick fabric, so you do the same.Â
He steps closer to you and takes the roll of tape from your hand, then begins wrapping your forearm for you.Â
âThanks,â you tell him, hoping he canât hear how nervous the growing horde outside is making you.Â
He seems as calm as the more physically imposing men, despite having a more slender frame. âOur best option would be to bang on the glass and draw their attention to the front, then all of us slip out the back way,â he says.Â
You glance toward the back of the store. âShould we check to see if theyâve circled around?â
He nods, and the two if you make your way back, through the storage area and to a large drop down gate. You assume trucks come in this way to unload merchandise. But itâs locked up tight and you canât see anything on the other side.Â
âThereâs a window up there,â the man says, pointing. You have to use a step ladder to reach it, but you both climb up to look out.Â
There arenât nearly as many zombies roaming around behind the store, but there are definitely enough to be a problem.Â
âI think we can make it through, but itâs going to be a challenge,â he tells you.Â
You feel fear creeping up your spine. So far youâve been able to evade most large groups of zombies, but with the store being surrounded, itâs looking like youâre going to have to wade into them.Â
As the two of you return to the front, you feel your spirits sinking.
Man #6:
The man with the bright smile comes up beside you as you stare out hopelessly at the zombies gathered at the windows.Â
âIâve seen bigger hordes,â he says.Â
You look up at him. âYou have?â
He grins. âSure. Theyâre not so bad when you realize how slow and uncoordinated they are.â
You appreciate his optimism. But you realize itâs more than that. His confidence rings true, and it makes you feel a little more hopeful.Â
âSo you think we can get out?â you ask.Â
He nods, still smiling, then gestures to where a few of the men are standing in a small circle. âTheyâre planning our escape right now. Weâve got some real smart guys here, so donât worry.â
You finally return his smile. âI hope youâre right.â
âOf course I am,â he replies.Â
Just then you hear something, like tinkling glass. Both you and the man look around for the source of the noise. After a few minutes, you spot a tiny crack in the glass, right where over a dozen zombies are pressing against the windows.Â
âTheyâre breaking the glass!â you cry, backing away.Â
The man calls over to his friends, âGuys, put a rush on that brilliant plan!â
They look up and rush over to check the crack.
Man #7:
The man you met in the stock room yesterday is the first to crouch down and examine the crack in the glass. His brow is furrowed as he watches the zombies shove themselves against the window, then he turns to face the others.Â
âEveryone, get whatever you need and be ready to go in ten minutes. Weâll take our chances going out the back.â
You already had your backpack ready, so you pull it onto your shoulders as the other men begin doing the same. You feel your heart racing as you prepare for the fight of your life.Â
The man is securing his own pack with a strap around his waist and checking the heavy denim sleeves of the jacket heâs wearing. He seems uncomfortable in the fabric, as if itâs not something heâd normally wear, but protection is the most important thing right now.Â
âWhat do you think our chances are?â you ask him.Â
He looks around the room. âWith this group? Pretty good. If we all stick to the plan,â he adds, glancing at a couple of guys in particular. Then he looks back at you. âTry to stay in the middle of us. We can protect you.â
âThanks,â you tell him. âI guess I lucked out when I stumbled upon you guys.â
He gives you a warm smile. âIâm glad you feel that way.â
Just then, you hear glass breaking, another crack at first, and then a shattering that startles everyone in the store. Right beside you, the first zombie crashes inside, and the man grabs your arm, pulling you back behind him.Â
As the zombie horde begins shambling into the store, the men around you take defensive positions and get ready to fight their way to the back.

Deep dive on Victor and his possible past + curse
This man is as attractive as he is mysterious and the curiosity is killing me, so I just need to let out some thoughts.
** I'm going to be referencing some translations and posts so I'll link them and their OP's (I'm too afraid to tag hehe but they deserve all the love and appreciationđ©·)
Be aware of JP and EN spoilers
First, what are some things we know and are safe to assume when it comes to Victor? He's the co-founder of Crown and the Queen's Aide. I think it's safe to assume Victor is the oldest in Crown; Harrison calls him an old goat, he acts like a mom, and I believe in the Valentine event the dynamic between Harry and Victor was labeled child-parent. Through this detailed post that @/kurishiri made we can guess that Victor is 30/32+ years, which I have to subjectively note is very hot. William was 14 when he was invited to the castle where he met Victor, meaning that Victor has been associated with the castle for at least 14 years. Was he already the Queen's Aide back then? High-likely, yes.
But how long exactly has Victor been the Queen's Aide? And how did he become one in the first place? One thing that stands out to me is this dialogue in Victor's Wicked Little Secret event:
For context, Victor is sharing why he started doing magic tricks. He explains it's traced back to the queen and how she does them as a reminder of how difficult but precious it is to get someone to smile.
Of course, it can be that Victor simply didn't go with the queen to the slums that day or that she told him about it, but I like to think about the possibility he didn't know the queen at this point but knew about it anyways because he was a kid in the slums. It might explain why he doesn't necessarily pay attention to status and why he treats people such as the villagers and Kate as his equals despite being the most powerful man in the country. Does he stay humble due to perhaps having experienced the lack of power, money, and status to a severe degree? And is the Victorian slums the reason why he suffered enough pain for a lifetime?
@/Reccyls translated an event in which the suitors are meant to win over Kate's heart by having her give the suitor a heart-shaped necklace. Jude, Roger, and Alfons are being very proactive while Elbert, William, and Victor are drinking tea. The nobles team points out there's no rush because it's the end of the day that matters. Victor agrees but then suggests they're also probably laid back because they are rich. It might be nothing but if you ask me, that's pretty self-aware and honest for a rich person. Not every rich person will realize having money does influence you, and not everybody loves to point out the frowned upon behavior that comes along with money, especially when it applies to yourself. So, it's a very small thing to say and I might be reading too much into it, but I think the people who know the affect of money better than anyone are the people who weren't born first class.
Victor continues to point out what makes William and Elbert rich, but right when he wants to talk about himself he cuts himself off (đ/affectionately) . It confuses me because sir, you are the Queen's Aide. Why is it a mystery that you're rich? Elbert asks if Victor comes from nobility but we never get a yes or no answer to that. So is there still a chance he might have been born in a rich family? Yeah, but I'm not a strong believer of it. Victor is known to cook and sew, and I don't remember where or when but I believe he said somewhere that if he can do it himself he won't let the maids do it. Does that sound like the skills and the mindset of a man born in nobility during the Victorian age? Not to me, so here comes my next thought: what if queen Victoria has taken young Victor under her wing?
I don't know how it would necessarily end up like this, though. But I was thinking: it didn't go unnoticed by us that Victor and Victoria's names are scarily similar to each other (it's like yeah whatever we're a bit like Sherlock ourselves yknowđ
). What if his name was quite literally inspired by the Queen's name in the story itself? Maybe Victor chose it or Victoria gave it to him.
Because @/shatcey recently made a post pointing out that William said "the man who calls himself Victor." I heavily agree with her that the phrasing is suspicious, mostly because of Victor as a character.
If he is from the slums then perhaps he's an orphan who doesn't know his actual name, or maybe he took up another name? If Victor is not his actual name, it might explain why we don't have a last name in the first place. Also, @/otomefiend translated the Black Wedding event when it came out in JP. While the official English translation uses "business smile" to describe Victor wearing a smile to bury his dark comment, I like her translation saying "Victor, the Queen's Aide' expression" much better. I genuinely could go into depth about this but I sadly digress. It makes me think back on the summary reccyls did for the first christmas event wherein Victor was wondering if he should give a "Victor-like" response.
Naturally, it can also mean he just has different persona's connected to his masks as this is a reoccurring theme and topic in his content. Victor said in the Between Villains' epilogue (translated by otomefiend) that he wants to be seen as the gentle Queen's Aide by Kate, so after showing a bit of his darker side it's natural he goes back to his gentle side that still implies distance to ease Kate. However, that doesn't make any of his masks a lie or someone he is not. Important disclaimer to put out there because this doesn't have to be proof that Victor isn't who he says he is. The phrasing just reminded me of this.
So, it wouldn't be a deep dive if I didn't talk about the theory that Victor might be the queen. Harrison has pointed out twice that Victor lies a lot. I think it'd be so funny if Harry is going to be like "stay away from Kate you old goat >:(" in Victor's route and then William is going to be the complete opposite like "listen to your desires and get a room already :)"
I think we might have seen the queen once, but it's canon that people have cosplayed her so who says it doesn't happen all the time? Victor only has to say the Queen's safety is in danger and then someone will fill in. I think it's safe to assume Cybird is making us doubt whether the queen is alive on purpose and what does that say about the mystery? You don't create mystery when there's nothing to reveal.
In Wrapped in Wicked Romance, something broke from the Queen's tea set only for Victor to reveal that, surprise, it's his own set! During the first anniversary epilogue (talked about by shatcey here) Kate gets told the queen is waiting for her in Victor's office and surprise, it's Victor! Or how in Between Two Villains it's mentioned how Victoria doesn't seem human because of the dedication she has as queen but then the doubt of humanity is a theme in Victor's events as well. Or how in Harrison's route Jude is reading the morning's newspaper and it mentions a criminal situation and surprise, Victor shows up from behind and says the queen ordered a mission related to it... almost like he overheard the news and decided on the spot it had to be dealt with.
To be honest, I don't know what to think when it comes to the queen. If she's actually dead, I think she might have died from an illness and then the veil + private persona might have been crafted to make it easier to look like she's alive (a bit like this one thing in Ikemen Prince). Why she should give the impression of being alive? I don't know, there's a high chance I am reaching. Maybe the queen is very healthy and happily living her introverted life.
Going back to another translation by reccyls, here Victor ends on the note that even if he has feelings for Kate he can't offer anything as "I belong to her majesty/ Victor belongs to Victoria." Ignore that you can call me the wicked witch of the west with how green of envy I turned, but this stood out to me a lot.
I think it shows an incredible amount of dedication and loyalty, and I read it in two ways. If Victor was saved by Victoria, it might be that he feels like he owes her himself, or perhaps a deal/promise was made? But, in a way, I also read it as Victor belonging to England. His loyalty towards queen Victoria is loyalty towards the safety and well-being of England, a land he's passionate about keeping safe.
The relationship between Victor and Victoria is lowkey fascinating to me because if she's still alive, they have been together for so many years. Victor always talks so positively about her so even though we barely interacted with her, I became to really like and admire ikevil!Victoria. Victor is also the only one who we know speaks with the queen directly. For the tea set mentioned earlier, Victor said he replaced them with his own because he is known to break them when he and the queen are drinking tea. Victor braids the queen's hair and helps her with fashion. William even said in this event translated by @/judesmoonbeauty that the queen knows everything about Victor.
We've almost reached the end but the last thing I want to talk about is Victor's birthday event translated by @/archiveikemen. Victor murders a bunch of criminals with what I assume is his curse or something in that direction. He commands them to succumb to his wickedness and the people essentially kill themselves with a peaceful expression. William makes a comment about it, saying these men look as if almost possessed by a God. Victor thinks to himself it's like saying "Her Majesty The Queen" was no God, and then he says humans can never be God. To be honest, I'm slightly confused because I feel like this can mean different things. When Will makes his comment he's speaking about the peaceful faces, so I don't think he's talking about how the criminals were unhealthily worshipping the queen but I assume he's talking about Victor's ability.
One of the reasons why I think it's a curse is because of this post Shatcey made. One of the screenshots translates to Victor saying he doesn't want Kate to end up lying at his feet with a happy face. It sounds an awful lot like what happened to the criminals in the event. Victor worrying about Kate's fate like that makes me believe it might has something to do with the fate of his possible curse. Think about it: Kate essentially gets dragged in every cursed fate of the suitors and if Victor is another cursed individual, it's high-likely his curse is related to death.
There must be something special going on, though. Is Victor's curse like any other but kept a mystery because something about Victor's identity should stay a mystery? Or is there actually something special about his curse or whatever ability he has? Because his birthday event convinced me he's not an ordinary human. However, something special must be going on for this to be a mystery.
Funny story but for a while I thought that if Victor is cursed it might be Ursula from The Little Mermaid. Sometimes you can see Easter eggs of the suitor's curses back in the outfit designs so when I looked at Victor's outfit, I saw he has scrubs on his jacket (reminding me of fish) and something that looks like knots/ropes (reminding me of sailboats), plus the deep blue and black aesthetic still reminds me of the dark sea. There is also a part in the christmas event where Victor thinks to himself he has sacrificed his human soul to death in order to get what he has now, and who has a song about doing business with poor unfortunate souls?
In this flashback translated by reccyls, I think we are witnessing the moment he's sacrificing his soul. He has a choice that'll impact him as a person greatly and I feel like it's safe to assume he's close to dying, so it'd make sense if this part of his life triggered a curse related to death. Also, his flashback says "the path of becoming the dust of history" which is another reason why I think Victor might have come from the slums, or at least not nobility. It sounds like Victor himself thought he had left no footprint on the world, which actually aligns with his character if you read the translation of Will saying Victoria knows Victor better than anyone till the end.
But I got sidetracked a lot. I think the comment Victor made about the queen in his birthday event is another micro-hint. I sometimes feel like I'm reaching like a clown trying to figure out if Victor isn't keeping up the idea the queen is still alive. It almost feels like having a gaslighting lover; am I picking up clues or am I picking up clowns makeup? Wouldn't it actually be a possibility for Harry to help Kate unreveal the mystery that is Victor? Because while they're not the most interactive dynamic, I feel like Harrison will at least have a little role in Victor's route. As I mentioned before, Harrison pointed out twice that Victor lies a lot: one time in his own route and the second time in the Christmas event. He goes a step further in the latter one, saying that if Kate takes the first step towards Victor's darkness, he'll open her eyes to the truth. Plus, Harrison already had his "when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth" moment in his route so I think it makes sense for the Sherlock lover who is a walking lie detector to play a role in the most mysterious suitor who is a walking liar's route.
The actual last thing I want to talk about (guess I'm a liar like Victor) I notice that in events wherein Victor and Kate are together, they declare their love in an interesting way. Since death seems to be a huge part of Victor that possibly is connected to a curse, the two put focus on loving each other even after death. I'm curious if this is part of Victor's possible fate or if this is just a romantic way of thinking that fits Victor's theme. Either way, I think it's perfect to end on this note.
So, I think this is mostly what I wanted to get out. Thank you for having read all the way through and please share any theories you have! And spread love for the people mentioned in this post because I'm eternally grateful for everything they translate and postđ©·

His first reaction is anger
Who does that scum think he is to reject you?
Expect him to be really nice and considering to you from then on
He'll always make sure you know how much he cares about you and how he'll never abandon you
You'd never really find out why he changed so much all of a sudden unless you ask him about it
Apparently he didn't want to reawaken that wound by bringing it up
    àŒșâàŒ»
Sitri didn't want to pry into your personal dreams, but your heart was beating so fast and if he correctly saw, there were even some tears streaming down your face
After seeing that traumatic memory, he'll hug you close to his body and kiss all over your face to gently wake you up
When your eyes finally open, he'll let you hide your face in his chest and hold you as you sob
He's curious, but doesn't want to push you, so he's just hoping you'll bring it up when you're done
Will make sure he's there for you the following day, cancelling all plans he has for the day
    àŒșâàŒ»
Your dream reminds him of his own sad memory about his father
If you wake up on your own, he'll be there so you can confide in him
If not, he'll let you sleep unless your dream turns even worse
Just like Sitri, the next day he's all yours and reminding you that he's never leaving
Showers you with gifts and love to make up for the life you've been deprived of
He'll even get you a live pet if you ask so
    àŒșâàŒ»
At first heard you cry out someone's name
His first thought it that you're draming of some other man
Which you are, but once Levi sees/hears what the man is saying, he's speechless
Someone dares to treat his lover like that?
On the next day he will ask you about it and when you break down telling him about your past, his expression softens
The two of you trauma bond by sharing stories of your past
    àŒșâàŒ»
Beel doesn't like this at all
Now, he's not a father, but even he knows that's not a thing to tell your kid
But seeing your traumatic past kinda makes him feel bad for just disappearing from you at times
So now before he leaves, he makes sure to let you know and that he still loves and cares about you
Similarly to Mammon, wants to help you experience the life you've missed out on and heal your inner child
    àŒșâàŒ»
You're thrashing in the bed and making noise, which is waking Belphie up and he's annoyed
So he enters your mind to see what's up
Oh, this bitch didn't
As much as he's tired even in his mind, Belphie will manifest into your dream and irritatedly tell your father off
"She can do better off without you anyway, ya windbag."
"Gonna show 'er how livin' in real riches looks like."
The next morning you're confused
Like literally, what tf happened?
You can't even ask Belphie because he's still sleeping and probably will for a long time
    àŒșâàŒ»
Ah, that is tragic
He knows the pain of loosing a father
Though, your story is worse
Even if you're crying, he'll hold off his dacryphilia, because this is serious matter
In the morning he asks Buer to do some evaluation and maybe help you with some shadow work as a therapy method of preventing any further nightmares
This is kinda random, but I feel like he'll buy you a plushie to cuddle with when you need it and he's too busy at the moment

I apologize for what Iâm about to do đ remember when I posted about Casey going to visit Alexâs mom after Alex died ? well I took it and ran with it and out came a heartbreaking fic so here you go
Word count: 3882
Also @wild-fleurs you put the idea in my head to write this so now we can both be sad
Casey was trying, she was trying her best to keep going, but most days she couldn't even find the strength to get out of bed. Today though she had managed, managed to pull herself from the nest of grief she had made of their room, and somehow stumbled uptown. She stood in front of the heavy oak door, the night chill creeping through her bones despite the wool coat she had hastily thrown on. She raised her hand to knock but hesitated. The last thing she wanted was to bother Caroline. She felt hollowed out, like there was nothing left of her but grief and guilt, and showing up at this hourâit felt selfish. But where else could she go?
She had no one else in the city. Her parents didnât talk to her anymore, her siblings lived in other states, she was all alone. Except for Caroline. Caroline, who had been stoic the day of the funeral letting tear after tear fall when her daughter's casket was lowered to the ground. Casey had been beside her and she barely managed to keep it together before she excused herself, sobs clawing out of her throat as she fled needing to get as far from the cemetery as she could.
She felt bad about it later but she couldnât handle it and couldn't be there on the receiving end of peopleâs sympathy. She hadnât seen Caroline since and quite frankly she didnât know why she was currently standing in front of the brownstone; she just knew she had to get out of their apartment. Away from the reminders of what her life used to look like, Alex marking every part of it
Her hand hovered a second longer before she tapped lightly. The sound was so soft she worried it hadnât registered, but within moments, the door creaked open. Caroline Cabot stood in the soft lamplight, dressed in her silk robe, her face apparently calm, but there was an exhaustion born not from physical tiredness, but from the endless weight of grief that Casey could see in her features. Caroline so poised graceful could very well be the only person who might understand what Casey was feeling.
"Casey," Carolineâs voice was low, carrying with it a warmth that broke something inside of Casey. That made her ache because not even her wife dying had gotten her own mother to at least pick up the phone and check on her. "What are you doing here, darling? It's so late."
âIâI didnât know where else to go,â Casey whispered, the words catching in her throat. Her eyes stayed fixed on the threshold, unable to meet Carolineâs gaze. She was begining to regret her decision to come intrude on Carolineâs night.
Caroline however stepped aside immediately, the silent invitation giving Casey the slightest of comfort. "Come inside, sweetheart."
Casey walked in, her body stiff and uncertain, the warm, familiar smell of the house wrapping around her, pulling her back to all the times she and Alex had spent here. For Casey it had been awkward at first. The lavish home occupied by people she could never begin to pretend she could be. It had made her feel inferior but slowly the more Alex invited her over to see her mother in law the more comfortable Casey got. She started loving the place, always warm, always lingering with the smell of tea. But tonight, the memories were sharp, jagged. They cut into her, not as much as in her apartment but still so incredibly painful.
As Caroline closed the door behind them, Casey found herself shaking from the cold. âIâm sorry for bothering you.â
âYou could never bother me,â Caroline said, her tone as soft as the hands she placed gently on Caseyâs arm. âSit down, dear.â
Casey shuffled toward the couch, she sank into the plush cushions, feeling small in the vast, elegant living room. The space was perfect, just like Caroline. Every detail, from the well-curated art to the perfectly arranged flowers on the mantel, it all showed Carolineâs refined taste. But tonight, it all felt like a reminder of how she didnât belong here anymore. Without Alex, this world of grace and perfection seemed alien to her once more.
"I couldnât stay at the apartment," Casey mumbled, her voice barely audible. "Everything... everything there reminds me of her."
Caroline nodded, sitting next to Casey, her face showing nothing but understanding. She had learned, in her grief, how to master that particular expressionâthe one that said, âI feel it too, but we must go on.â But now, watching Casey, something felt wrong. Casey wasnât just grieving; she was unraveling, bit by bit, and Caroline could see it in every hollowed-out shadow on her face, in the way her clothes hung loosely on her frame.
âHave you eaten?â Caroline asked gently, though she already knew the answer.
Casey shook her head. "Iâm not very hungry anymore."
Caroline's lips pressed into a thin line, not wanting to push her, but unwilling to let her slip further away. "You should eat something. Just a little."
Casey barely responded, her gaze fixed somewhere far beyond the room. The emptiness in her eyes made Caroline worry. She looked so much smaller than she rememberedâAlex had always told her how strong Casey was, how she could take on the world if she wanted to. But now? Now, she looked fragile, as if a strong wind could blow her away.
âYou look exhausted, my dear. Why donât you close your eyes for a little while, while I make dinner?â Carolineâs voice was soft, her hand stroking Caseyâs hair slowly.
âI... I canât sleep. Every time I close my eyes, I see her,â
âYou need to try, your body needs it so just close your eyes and i'll stay here with you
Caroline watched as Caseyâs eyes fluttered shut, her breathing evening out into soft, broken sighs. She looked so fragile, so heartbreakingly lost. Carolineâs own grief was constantly threatening to swallow her whole. But having Casey here, taking care of her, maybe it could give her something to hold on to, some piece of Alex still in her life.
Caroline reached for a nearby blanket and draped it gently over Caseyâs thin form satisfyed when she saw her daughter in laws features relax. She could see how much weight Casey had lost, the dark circles under her eyes noticeable against her pale skin. Caroline felt her heart twist with worry. This girl, this beautiful, broken woman who had loved her daughter so fiercely, was fading before her eyes. And Caroline couldnât let that happen. Not when Casey was a part of Alex.
She disappeared into the kitchen, her slippered feet barely making a sound. The act of preparing food, something warm, comforting was automatic. Tomato soup, the kind Alex had loved, the kind Caroline had made for years. As the broth simmered, the scent of garlic and thyme filled the house. It was strange, how the simple act of cooking could still feel grounding in the midst of everything, giving her back a sense of a routine she hadnt had since her daughter died.
Casey didnât know how long she had been asleep, but when she woke, the room was dark and quiet. Caroline was seated nearby with a cup of tea in her hands reading a book with the soft glow of a lamp. The house smelled good and her stomach rumbled craving whatever Caroline had cooked.
Alex was still gone.
But Caroline⊠Caroline was still here.
âIâm sorry, I didn't mean to fall asleepâ Casey mumbled, attempting to sit up, but Caroline was next to her in a moment and stopped her with a gentle hand on her shoulder.
âThereâs nothing to apologize for,â Caroline said softly. âYou needed the rest.â
She gave her a small smile and disappeared quickly into the kitchen bringing back a tray with soup and a grilled cheese. âYouâll have to forgive me dear, much like Alex. I'm not very good in the kitchenâ Caroline said softly, setting the tray on the coffee table. "I know it feels like you canât but you need to try. Just a few bites, sweetheart. Please.â
Caseyâs eyes flicked to the bowl, the steam rising from the soup, but she didnât move. âI canât. It feels like I canât swallow it down. Sheâs gone, and I...â
Carolineâs chest tightened. She sat down beside Casey, her voice steady but full of compassion. "She wouldnât want you to starve yourself, to stop taking care of yourself. You know how stubborn Alex could be. She would hate to see you like this, Casey."
âI know.â Caseyâs voice cracked, her body curling in on itself as though the weight of her sorrow was too much to bear. "I know she would, but I donât know how to be without her. I donât know how to keep going.â
Caroline reached out, gently brushing a tear from Caseyâs cheek. âYou donât have to know how. You just have to take it one moment at a time.â
âSometimes I feel like Iâm going crazy,â Casey admitted after a long pause. âLike Iâll never feel anything but this⊠numbness. Like Iâm forgetting her already. Isnât that horrible?â
Caroline looked at her with soft eyes, her own grief rippling through the room. âNo, itâs not horrible. Itâs part of the pain, darling. But youâre not forgetting her. Sheâs with you in everything you do. Grief⊠it doesnât mean forgetting. It means learning to live with the love you still carry.â
Casey closed her eyes, tears spilling over her lashes as she leaned into Carolineâs shoulder, her body shaking with the sobs she had tried so hard to hold back. "I donât know if I can do this."
âYou can,â Caroline whispered, her hand cradling the back of Caseyâs head. âI promise you, you can. And Iâm here with you.â
"How... how do you keep it together so well?" Caseyâs voice was barely more than a whisper, shaky and fragile. She didn't meet Caroline's gaze, instead staring into her bowl as though it held some hidden answer.
Caroline sighed softly, she took a deep breath, her hands resting in her lap, fingers trembling slightly. âI don't, dear.â
Casey looked up, her brow furrowing in confusion. She had always admired Carolineâs composure, the way she seemed to navigate grief with such grace, even when Casey herself was crumbling. âWhat do you mean? I came to check on you and youâre here comforting me.â
Carolineâs smile was faint, bittersweet, and her eyes shimmered with unshed tears. âI lost my husband years ago. That taught me how to grieve, I know what it feels like and yet it doesnât make it any easier. I never thought Iâd lose my daughter too.â Her voice broke on the last word, and she closed her eyes, as if trying to hold herself together. âIâm not strong, Casey. I struggle every day. Iâm in pain every day. Itâs hard to keep going because it isnât fair that sheâs gone.â
Tears welled up in Caseyâs eyes, her heart pounding painfully in her chest as she watched Caroline, someone who had always seemed so poised, now breaking in front of her. She saw the lines of grief etched deeper into Carolineâs face, the quiet way her shoulders shook as she tried to keep her tears at bay.
âI thought losing Alexander was the hardest thing Iâd ever go through,â Caroline continued, her voice tight, âbut losing Alex... there are days I donât know how Iâm still standing.â
Casey reached out hesitantly, placing her hand on top of Carolineâs. The older woman squeezed back, her grip surprisingly firm, holding tightly to Casey.
âIâm sorry,â Casey whispered, guilt weighing heavily on her chest. âI shouldnât haveââ
âDonât,â Caroline interrupted softly, shaking her head. âYouâre allowed to ask. And youâre allowed to feel like this.â
For a moment, the only sound in the room was the soft ticking of a clock on the wall. Caroline wiped at her tears, sniffing softly before her lips curled into a small smile.
âYou know,â she started, her voice lighter now, âAlex was always so serious as a child. Proper, even. She had her nose in a book more than anything else. While other children played outside, she was inside reading, arranging her dollhouse or playing chess with her father. She was always in her own little world, so smart and stubborn.â Caroline chuckled softly, her eyes distant, lost in memories of her daughter.
Casey managed a small smile, a flash of warmth blooming in her chest. âThat sounds like her.â
Caroline nodded, her gaze softening as she continued. âI knew early on that she wouldnât end up with a boy. One day, she came home from school when she was about six years old and declared with such authority, âBoys are useless, Mama. Theyâre horrible.ââ Caroline laughed, and for the first time in what felt like an eternity, so did Casey.
It was a broken, quiet laugh, but it was real. The sound filled the room, easing some of the tension in the air.
Caroline smiled warmly, her eyes crinkling at the corners. âFrom that day, I had a feeling. I didnât say anything, of course, but I always knew my daughter would end up with someone special. Someone who could match her, challenge her.â Her gaze softened as she looked at Casey. âAnd she found you.â
Caroline chuckled softly, her fingers brushing the stray hair from Caseyâs face. âShe always had such high expectations for herself. And when she met you, she told me sheâd found the oneâ
Caseyâs breath hitched in her throat, fresh tears burning her eyes. âShe told you that?â
âShe did,â Caroline whispered. âShe loved you more than anything in this world, Casey.â
Caroline smiled faintly, wiping away a tear that had escaped down Caseyâs cheek. âAnd you loved her more than anyone else ever could. And that makes you family.â
Casey swallowed hard, her throat tight with emotion.âThank you,â she whispered, the words barely audible. She wiped at her face quickly, trying to regain control, but it was impossible. âI miss her so much, Caroline,â she said, her voice cracking.
Caroline pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her as she sobbed. âI know, dear. I know. But we have each other. Weâll get through this together.â
The weight of those words settled between them, giving Casey something solid to cling to in the storm that had become her life.
For the first time in months, in this house full of memories, Casey let herself rest.
---
In the weeks that followed, Caseyâs visits became more frequent. At first, they were always at night, always after she had spent hours drowning in work or staring at the walls of her empty apartment. But soon, it became routine, Caroline would make tea, Casey would sit quietly at the table, and they would talk. Not always about Alex, but about the small things. The weather. Books. Anything to fill the space between them.
Caroline watched Casey closely during these visits, noting the slight improvements, a little more color in her cheeks, a little less tension in her shoulders, but also the lingering sadness in her eyes. Caseyâs grief was still a raw wound, but at least here, in this house, she wasnât alone.
And in taking care of Casey, Caroline found a sense of purpose again, something to ground her in the face of her own unbearable loss.
---
When Caroline began to get sick, Casey noticed before anyone else. It was in the way her steps slowed, how her voice seemed quieter, weaker. But it wasnât until Caroline collapsed one evening that Caseyâs world shattered again.
Caroline was gone by winter.
Casey stood at the grave, her eyes hollow as she stared at the fresh dirt that covered Carolineâs casket. The air was cold, biting at her cheeks, but she didnât feel it. Not really. She felt numb again, any progress she had made crumbling beneath her feet now that the woman that had loved her like a mother was gone. As if each loss had taken a piece of her, until there was almost nothing left. First Alex, and now Carolineâthe one person who had understood, who had kept her grounded when everything else had fallen apart.
The flowers in her hand trembled as she knelt down, placing them gently on the grave, and then placing the others in front of Alexâs. She wanted to say something, anything, but no words came. How do you thank someone for giving you the only semblance of a family you had left, for helping you grieve their daughter when you couldnât even grieve for yourself?
âIâm sorry,â she whispered, her voice barely audible in the wind. âI should have done more. I should haveââ
Her breath hitched, and she stood up quickly, wiping the tears from her eyes. She couldnât stay any longer.
She got a small comfort in knowing that at least Caroline would be with Alex now. But of course that wasnât true
The day Alex came back was the best and worst day of Caseyâs life.
She had grieved, convinced Alex was gone forever. Months of sleepless nights, empty days, and trying to piece together a life shattered by loss with the help of Caroline. And then suddenly Alex was back, standing in the doorway, alive but looking so broken, like she had been just as lost as Casey. All the anger, confusion, and hurt hit at once. Casey didn't know if she wanted to hold her or scream at her. But the devastation in Alex's eyes, the weight she carriedâit made the anger fade, at least for the moment. So she clung to her, almost tackling her in a hug that was interrupted by sobs and tears and kisses that brought back a piece of Casey that she was sure was gone forever.
Days later, they stood together at Carolineâs grave. As much as Alex wanted to go visit her mother she couldnât bring herself to do it at first, couldnât face the reality that her mom was gone for good and Casey understood, so she gave her time as they figured out where they stood.
The wind blew through the cemetery, cold and sharp, stinging their skin. Spring was a few weeks away so the cold air was just another reminder of how cruel time had been for both of them. How much time they had lost. Alex stood still, staring at the grave, her face tight, like she was holding herself together by a thread. Casey watched her, unsure if she should reach out or let Alex face this moment alone.
âWhen they told me she was gone,â Alex finally said, her voice low and rough, âI⊠I didnât believe it. I couldnât wrap my head around it. I kept thinking they had to be wrong, that somehow⊠it wasnât real.â She clenched the flowers so tightly, petals broke off, floating down to the dirt.
Casey didnât say anything, watching the tension build in Alexâs face.
âI was out there in the middle of nowhere, stuck, and all I could think was⊠sheâs gone. My mom is dead, and I wasnât there. I couldnât even bury her. What kind of daughter does that?â Alexâs voice broke, and she turned her head, eyes filling with tears she fought to keep in.
âYou didnât have a choice,â Casey said softly. âThey didnât give you a choice, Alex.â
âBut I shouldâve listened to you!â Alexâs voice cracked, finally letting out what sheâd been holding in for so long. âI shouldâve listened. You told me not to push it, not toââ She shook her head, words tripping over each other. âAnd now Iâm here, and sheâs not. And youâyou had to deal with all of this alone because I was too fucking stubborn.â
Caseyâs chest tightened, seeing Alex unravel like this. She tried to step closer, but Alex pulled away, pacing in front of the grave like she couldnât bear to stand still.
âI left you alone. I left her alone.â Alex wiped her face roughly with the back of her hand, her breath coming quicker. âAnd now⊠sheâs dead. My mom is dead.â
Casey felt her heart shatter again, hearing the raw pain in Alexâs voice, and she reached for her. âAlexââ
âSheâs gone. Sheâs gone, and Iââ Alexâs knees gave out, and she crumbled before the grave, clutching the flowers she still held, her shoulders shaking with each sob. âI wasnât here. I couldnât even say goodbye.â
Tears streamed down Alexâs face as sob after sob tore through her, shaking her whole body. Casey dropped beside her, pulling her into her arms as Alexâs grief poured out, a flood of months of guilt, pain, and loss.
âSheâs gone,â Alex gasped between sobs. âSheâs gone, Casey. Iâll never get to see her again. Iâll never hear her voice, neverââ She couldnât finish. The words turned into another flood of choked sobs, her body trembling in Caseyâs arms. âI want my momâ she sobbed out letting her head fall against Casey's chest.
Casey pressed her lips to the top of Alexâs head, rocking her gently. âI know. I know, baby. Iâm so sorry. Iâm so, so sorry.â
For what felt like hours, Alex cried until her voice was hoarse, her tears soaking Caseyâs coat. When the sobs finally slowed, Alex leaned back against Casey, utterly drained, her eyes red and swollen. She looked lost, like a little girl who had just lost her entire world.
Casey stroked her hair, whispering softly. âShe wasnât alone. She helped me, and I helped her. We got through it together.â
Alex closed her eyes, her breath still shaky. âI shouldâve been the one here with her.â
Casey didnât know what to say, because she knew no words could make Alexâs guilt go away.
Alex sniffled, wiping her face with the back of her sleeve. âI donât know how to forgive myself for not being there.â
Casey shifted so she could look into Alexâs eyes, her thumb brushing away the tears still clinging to her cheeks. â You survived. Thatâs what matters. Thatâs what she wouldâve wanted and she wouldnât have wanted to see you drowning in guiltâ
âBut sheâs not here,â Alex whispered, her voice so small it almost broke Caseyâs heart all over again.
Casey stared into those beautiful blue eyes and brought Alex in closer as they both knelt by the grave in silence, holding each other in the quiet hurt of their grief. The flowers theyâd brought lay in front of the headstone, peonies and daisies.
Alex laid her head on Caseyâs shoulder. She just sat there, staring at the grave as the last of her tears dried on her cheeks. Finally, with a heavy sigh, she whispered, âThank you. For being here. For⊠everything.â
Casey pressed her forehead to Alexâs. âYou donât have to thank me, Alex. Iâm with you, always.â
They got up, hand in hand, there was nothing left to say, but they stood there for a moment longer, letting the quiet surround them. Trying to wake up from the nightmare that had tainted their lives.
