Liam was waiting near the door when Aubrie finally emerged from the classroom, a small smile on her face.

Liam: So what did the new teacher want?

Aubrie: He just wanted to talk about my writing. He invited me to join an after school writing club. But…

Liam: But what?

Aubrie: It’s nice to be complimented. I’m just not sure I’m ready.

Liam: I know I should be encouraging you to join and all that, but I’d much rather you hang out with me after school.

Aubrie rolled her eyes and started walking towards her locker. Liam followed, jogging a bit to catch up.

Liam: Okay, okay. I’m just being a brat. But you have to admit, I am the better person to hang out with.

Liam was standing close. He was so close that Aubrie could feel the tickle of his breath on her skin. She knew if she turned to face him now, they’d be close enough to kiss. The thought made her uncontrollably blush, so she turned her back to him, hoping he wouldn’t notice how flustered she was.

Meanwhile, a few feet away, stood Luisa. She was watching, jealousy building up inside her. What did this new girl have that she didn’t? Why did Liam seem so enamoured with her?

Link rubbed his nape sheepishly. "All my horses are mares, so I just assumed — anyway, put your apple here into the tank."

The fruit toppled through the opening under the saddle, disappearing from her view. "Don't you think she would prefer ancient materials? Screws, gears, and whatnot? She's a Divine Beast after all."

Link's hands stopped mid-air where he had dropped another apple. "Ancient… materials? I have never tried that." He laughed and covered his eyes with his hand, peeking through his fingers. "That makes a lot of more sense than apples, actually."

Not to be mistaken with my other character Starry. Star was made as an offshoot of Bys who was my original Mascot OC for years and years but I started making my own story around him and as I have world-built it has become harder to see Bys outside the context of his story, So I came up with Starry to use as a sort of Non-canon version of Bys and Bys is one of the Prodragonists of a story I am writing called: “Soaring” (Working title) Soaring follows the story of a group of young Dragons exploring in a fantasy world that takes inspiration from the Mesozoic era with Fantastic creatures based mainly on Dinosaurs except almost all Vertebrate creatures in this world are Hexapods (6 limbed) and Magic is a part of nature that just about every living thing has evolved to utilize to some extent. Most creatures have a very simple expression of magic that allows them to do something that would normally be impossible with under normal circumstances so we can have Giant Flying Behemoths, Plants that thrive in volcanic hotspots, and of course Dragons with Elemental Powers. Bys is an Imaginative, Jovial, Curious, and Awkward young dragon who deals with a lot of past trauma having been brought up as an experiment of an Alchemy Cult who performed live dragon testing on young dragons and has seen many of his friends perish in these experiments. Most dragons are only born with 1 element of 16: Light, Crystal, Fire, Lightning, Psionic, Fear, Earth, Metal, Shadow, Phantom, Water, Ice, Wood, Poison, Wind, and Sound... This Cult known as The Legion of Zelophbog were artificially putting more elements into Dragons. Bys is the only Dragon to have survived having 6 elements put in him: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, and Shadow, but he has no control over his elements himself, instead he has 6 Alternate personalities with their own individual quirks living within his mind that each have control over one of these elements and Bys has to rely on them working together in order to get his powers to work correctly. While in the lab he had overheard someone mention "The Philosopher's Stone" a magic tool capable of miracles. Bys came to the belief that if he found it before the Legion then he could use it to bring back all his friends and fellow experiments who had died in captivity and show them a better world.

Luisa snapped out of it and turned to see who was talking to her. It was her best friend Juna Benson. Juna had known her since elementary school, but it wasn’t until junior high that they had become inseparable. Juna knew her inside and out.

Luisa: I just don’t get it, Juna.

Juna, sighing: This is about Liam and the new girl, isn’t it? You were staring at them so intensely, I thought lasers might shoot out of your eyes at them.

Luisa: I’m trying not to act like the hysterical jealous ex. Truly. But it’s not like she’s anything special to look at. And from what I’ve found out, she comes from trash. What does he see in her that he didn’t already find in me?

Juna: You need to forget her. Just do your thing. Liam is probably just into her because she’s something--someone new. You know how guys are.

Luisa: This is different Juna. I just know. The way he looks at her…

Juna: Then make him look at you. You know what he’s like, what he wants. Show him what he’s missing out on.

Luisa: Easier said than done when he will barely even speak to me. Ever since the accident that summer. He changed. He stopped smiling. He stopped caring. He stopped--and look at him now! Smiling, chatting, carrying on with that girl! I fucking hate it!

Juna: Did you ever find out what happened?

Luisa: All I know is Liam got his dad to fix everything. There’s literally no record of what happened. At least that’s what Hiro told me. Hiro changed too. Neither of them talk about that night.

Juna: Time to do some detective work then, girl.
