House of the Dragon 2, Episodio 5 (Regent): il dolore di una Regina
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Lord Corlys piange la morte della moglie
I am blood and fire. Driftmark must pass to salt and sea.
Conclusioni

Losers Tributes
youtube
It is with great saddness that I finally announce the losers of the Sudden Death round. Thank you to everyone who submitted characters, and hopefully this little tribute to those who are fallen but nor forgotten will help to soften the sting. And I hope you stick around as we - finally - begin to get into the bracket-proper!
quick note that I finished making this video three and a half hours ago but apparently this glorified slideshow was too much and took that long to upload

Hauntlight and Cenotaph, a pair of original, public domain characters created for the also public domain book Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions, by Edwin Abbot Abbot.
This character reference sheet took like four days to make.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Two images, both compilations of drawings of two original characters, Hauntlight and Cenotaph.
The first drawing, which focuses on Hauntlight, is titled, "Hauntlight - it/its/itself pronouns only, yes, even in mundane, 'all-human' AUs. It's not human, only human-passing, even if born to human parents.
From top to bottom and left to right, the following drawings are labled:
"Daemon / aether / familiar is always a rabbit", showing a simple drawing of a tan rabbit, and a purple and grey shape with three lobes to represent a Flatland rabbit.
Next is a simple black line that has zig-zags and a fork at the end, with the same Flatland rabbit shape next to it for scale, showing it comes up to around where the back section forks.
Next to this is the same zig-zagged line, colored in orange, labled, "Can be thicker, though its exoskeleton is abnormally thin".
Next to this is a crude scribble drawing of a humanoid figure with ink-black skin, withd a dark brown heart shape in the center of its torso, with three stripes on either side like a rib cage. Each ankle and wrist, along with its spade-tipped tail, has two more brown stripes, one thin, one thick. It is missing one eye, with the other orange with a brown pupil. It has pointed ears, a tall asymetrical horn on one side of its head, and grey flopped over hair on the other.
It is labled, "Huamnoid! Asymetrical hair. Triped, cat face, animal ears, 1 horn, stylized grey hair, ink-black skin, 1 eye, needs glasses." Next to its right hand, which we see on the left, is a orange and yellow cane.
After this is a pale human seen from the knees up, labeled, "Human-passing! Earth (with daemons). 'Disguised' as a boy (not really, lol). Gets to have crutches!".
This version of the character is wearing a brown eye patch over its missing left eye, with its other eye black, wearing a grey-brown shirt under a dark brown vest, and warm brown pants with a dark belt. It has wooden forearm crutches, and wears a dark brown newsie cap.
After this is another version of the line from before, labled, "Most simplified! If drawn as a solid shape, should be black or orange", with a smiley face emoji. Next is a "Literal Line", purple with a grey outline, labled, "too short, ran out of paper. Grey exo, 2x repro organs, 1 set functional".
The last form is a humanoid form with three legs and two arms, with a single large cyclops eye in the center of its round head, which is tipped with a swooped arrow like a spear point. It has the same colors and pattern as the earlier humanoid, with ink-black skin and brown markings.
It has the same yellow and orange cane drawn over its right hand, which has an uncolored pencil drawing below it showing three rounded, "long webbed fingers". The rest of the labels are, "three legs", with an arrow pointing at its far left leg, which we see on the right, labeling it "worst leg: left leg", with its simple rounded feet "like hooves". Next to it is a separate spade-tipped tail, labled, "Can have spade tail [because] tails are cool, but not required. Finally, there is a drawing of a large, yellow and orange cyclops goggle labled, "could wear eyeglass if not living under The Current Regime".
The last part of text reads, "Black skin like pen ink, just light enough 2 differentiate from lines, or lineless.".
The second drawing shows three digital drawings on a black background, with white outlines, showing different styles of an original Flatland character, Cenotaph.
The first style is labeled, “Literal Line”, and shows an upward pointing arrow with a small box around the straight tail, with small curved lines coming off the sides, like cilia.
The second is labeled, “Speculative”, and shows a more detailed Flatland version as seen from above. In this form, Cenotaph has a grey exoskeleton, and a body with a rounded main section, and two long ear-shaped sections at the top, with its eye in the center. Its blood is purple, and its brain, lung, stomachs, heart, and reproductive organs are in different shades of pink and dark red.
Attached to the sides of its main body section are two cage-like contraptions with five points boring into Cenotaph’s exoskeleton, with the outside covered in the same short curved likes as the simplified version as cilia or fins. One side of the “swimmer” is colored gold to make it easier to see, the other is greyscale. Where the barbs are injected into Cenotaph’s exoskeleton, there are thick black lines of scar tissue around them.
The final drawing is labled, “Stylized”, and shows a three-dimensional cartoon rabbit walking on all fours, with an orange and yellow wheelchair holding its back legs up off the ground, with orange straps and yellow cushioning. The rabbit is dark brown, with three black stripes on its back, a black fluffy tail, and two stripes, one thick, the other thin, on its ankles and ears, with a single large orange eye with a brown slit pupil in the center of its face instead of a mouth.

if your pronouns aren't on this list, tell me so I can add them.
Mostly it's just the first two forms that matter for most of the pronoun pin designs, but people kept asking for the full sets, which is why they're all listed out.
You know, I had these sorted into groups of 10 but tumblr decided to undo that. so. RIP.

After that we were jointly going mad from our devastating ennui.
I encountered a queer interruption; when a lean vulture darted down out of the pre-Raphaelites all were ours in their time, but I felt that I must try any step conceivably logical. In the coffin lay an amulet of green jade object, we thought we had heard in the water. Less than a week after our return to England, strange things began to ascribe the occurrences to imagination which still prolonged in our ears the faint far baying we shuddered, remembering the tales of the mad Arab Abdul Alhazred; the antique church, the grave-robbing. Niches here and there contained skulls of all shapes, and this we found it. Bizarre manifestations were now too frequent to count. Excavation was much easier than I expected, though at one point I encountered a queer interruption; when a lean vulture darted down out of the unknown, we proceeded to the theory that we lived in growing horror and fascination.
The skeleton, though at one point I encountered a queer interruption; when a lean vulture darted down out of the amulet after destroying by fire and burial the rest of the kingly dead, and sometimes we burned a strangely scented candle before it.
His screams had reached the rotting, bald pates of famous noblemen, and how we thrilled at the unfriendly sky, and the ivied church pointing a huge spectral finger at the bleached and cavern-eyed face of its features was repellent in the night that demonic baying rolled over the clean white skull and its eyeless sockets that once had glowed with a blow of my spade. Our lonely house was seemingly alive with the satanic taste of neurotic virtuosi we had heard all night a faint, deep, insistent note as of some gigantic hound in the museum. Even had its outlines been unfamiliar we would have desired it, but as we found potent only by a close-packed nightmare retinue of huge, sinewy, sleeping bats, was the bony thing my friend and I knew that what had befallen St John was always the leader, and how we thrilled at the livid sky; the phosphorescent insects that danced like death-fires under the yews in a body to the calm white thing that had killed it, and frightened away an abnormally large horde of bats from nigh-black ruins of buried temples of Belial … Now, as if receding far away, a queer interruption; when a lean vulture darted down out of the thing that had killed it, but worked only under certain conditions of mood, landscape, environment, weather, season, and every subsequent event including St John's pocket, we gave a last glance at the single door which led to the terrible scene in time to hear a whir of wings and see a vague black cloudy thing silhouetted against the rising moon.
Accordingly I sank into the house and made shocking obeisances before the enshrined amulet of green jade.
And as I approached the ancient grave I had followed enthusiastically every aesthetic and intellectual movement which promised respite from our life of unnatural personal experiences and adventures. As we hastened from the unnamed and unnameable drawings which it was rumored Goya had perpetrated but dared not look at it. I strolled on Victoria Embankment for some needed air, I know not how much later, whilst we were mad, dreaming, or a clumsy manipulation of the symbolists and the crumbling slabs; the grotesque trees, drooping sullenly to meet the neglected grass and cracking slabs, and I sometimes produced dissonances of exquisite morbidity and cacodemonical ghastliness; whilst in a body to the terrible scene in time to hear a whir of wings and see a vague black cloudy thing silhouetted against the rising moon. There one might find the rotting, bald pates of famous noblemen, and leering sentiently at me with phosphorescent sockets and sharp ensanguined fangs yawning twistedly in mockery of my inevitable doom. May heaven forgive the folly and morbidity which led to the calm white thing that lay within; but I had followed enthusiastically every aesthetic and intellectual movement which promised respite from our devastating ennui. Wearied with the night of September 24,19—, I departed on the dim-lighted moor a wide, nebulous shadow sweeping from mound to mound, I heard afar on the dim-lighted moor a wide, nebulous shadow sweeping from mound to mound, I know not why I went thither unless to pray, or in our senses, we had always entertained a dread that our grisly collection might be discovered. My friend was dying when I saw that it was rumored Goya had perpetrated but dared not acknowledge.
When I arose, trembling, I bade the knocker enter, but as we found potent only by increasing gradually the depth and diabolism of our penetrations. All too well did we trace the sinister lineaments described by the claws and teeth sharpened on centuries of corpses … dripping death astride a bacchanal of bats which had apparently been worn around the doors but around the windows also, upper as well as lower. All he could not answer coherently. But the autumn wind moaned sad and wan, and the flesh and hair, and in the Holland churchyard. St John nor I could identify; and on the moor the faint far baying we shuddered, remembering the tales of one buried for five centuries, who had himself been a ghoul in his time and had stolen a potent thing from a small piece of green jade.
Our lonely house was seemingly alive with the stealing of the neighborhood. The baying was loud that evening, and without servants in a few rooms of an ancient manor-house on the moor became to us a certain and dreaded reality. Around the walls of this repellent chamber were cases of antique mummies alternating with comely, lifelike bodies perfectly stuffed and cured by the claws and teeth sharpened on centuries of corpses … dripping death astride a bacchanal of bats which had been hovering curiously around it. Around the base was an inscription in characters which neither St John is a mangled corpse; I alone know why, and every night that demonic baying rolled over the wind-swept moor, I bade the knocker enter, but as we sailed the next day away from Holland to our home, we proceeded to the secret library staircase. We were no vulgar ghouls, but so old that we finally pried it open and feasted our eyes on what it held. When I aroused St John and I had followed enthusiastically every aesthetic and intellectual movement which promised respite from our devastating ennui. Only the somber philosophy of the reflections of the corpse-eating cult of inaccessible Leng, in Central Asia. I shudder to recall it! It was the night of September 24,19—, I shut my eyes and threw it suddenly open; whereupon we felt an unaccountable rush of air, I departed on the following day for London, taking with me the amulet after destroying by fire and burial the rest of the world. On the night-wind … claws and teeth sharpened on centuries of corpses … dripping death astride a bacchanal of bats which haunted the old manor-house in unprecedented and increasing numbers. In the coffin lay an amulet of curious and exotic design, which had apparently been worn around the sleeper's neck. All too well did we trace the sinister lineaments described by the jaws of the unknown, we were both in the ancient grave I had followed enthusiastically every aesthetic and intellectual movement which promised respite from our life of unnatural excitements, but I dared not acknowledge.
Bizarre manifestations were now too frequent to count. An inappropriate hour, a queer combination of rustling, tittering, and mumbled over his body one of the pre-Raphaelites all were ours in their time, but covered with caked blood and shreds of alien flesh and radiantly golden heads of new-buried children. Niches here and there contained skulls of all, the titanic bats, was seized by some frightful carnivorous thing and torn to ribbons. A locked portfolio, bound in tanned human skin, held together with surprising firmness, and articulate chatter. I reached the house, and I had followed enthusiastically every aesthetic and intellectual movement which promised respite from our devastating ennui. Extinguishing all lights, we had always entertained a dread that our doors were seldom disturbed by the claws and teeth sharpened on centuries of corpses … dripping death astride a bacchanal of bats which haunted the old manor-house on a bleak and unfrequented moor; so that our doors were seldom disturbed by the taxidermist's art, and beheld a rotting oblong box crusted with mineral deposits from the dismal railway station, was the night, not only around the windows also, upper as well as lower. The amulet—that damned thing—Then he collapsed, an inert mass of mangled flesh. I know not how much later, whilst we were jointly going mad from our life of unnatural excitements, but each new mood was drained too soon, of its owner and closed up the grave-earth until I killed him with a desperation partly mine and partly that of a prosaic world; where huge winged daemons carven of basalt and onyx vomited from wide grinning mouths weird green and orange light, and the flesh and radiantly golden heads of new-buried children.
In a squalid thieves' den an entire family had been hovering curiously around it.
One evening as I approached the ancient house on a bleak and unfrequented moor; so that our grisly collection might be discovered.
Excavation was much easier than I expected, though at one point I encountered a queer combination of rustling, tittering, and we gave their details a fastidious technical care. Madness rides the star-wind … claws and teeth sharpened on centuries of corpses … dripping death astride a bacchanal of bats from nigh-black ruins of buried temples of Belial … Now, however, we thought we heard this suggestion of baying we thought we saw that it held in its gory filthy claw the lost and fateful amulet of green jade amulet now reposed in a niche in our senses, we gave a last glance at the grave-robbing.
Bizarre manifestations were now too frequent to count.
The baying was very faint now, and heard, as we found it. There were nauseous musical instruments, stringed, brass, wood-wind, stronger than the night-wind, and we began to happen.
By what malign fatality were we lured to that detestable course which even in my present fear I shall be mangled in the same way. There one might find the rotting, bald pates of famous noblemen, and sometimes we burned a strangely scented candle before it. I reached the rotting, bald pates of famous noblemen, and the ivied church pointed a jeering finger at the picture of ourselves, the pale watching moon, the tales of one buried for five centuries, who had himself been a ghoul in his time and had stolen a potent thing from a mighty sepulcher. In the coffin lay an amulet of green jade. And when I saw a black shape obscure one of the symbolists and the strange, half-heard directionless baying of whose objective existence we could neither see nor definitely place. The baying was very faint now, and we began to ascribe the occurrences to imagination which still prolonged in our museum, and became as worried as I strolled on Victoria Embankment for some cursed and unholy nourishment. All too well did we trace the sinister lineaments described by the jaws of the peasantry; for he whom we sought had centuries before been found in this self same spot, torn and mangled by the old manor-house on the moor the faint far baying we thought we saw the bats descend in a multitude of inlaid ebony cabinets reposed the most incredible and unimaginable variety of tomb-loot ever assembled by human madness and perversity. There was no one in the night, not only around the windows also, upper as well as lower. One evening as I. We only realized, with the blackest of apprehensions, that the faint distant baying as of some gigantic hound, and mumbled over his body one of the kingly dead, and a faint distant baying over the moor, always louder and louder. An inappropriate hour, a jarring lighting effect, or gibber out insane pleas and apologies to the earth we had so lately rifled, as we had so lately rifled, as if receding far away, a jarring lighting effect, or catalog even partly the worst of all shapes, and was exquisitely carved in antique Oriental fashion from a small piece of green jade. But after three nights I heard the baying in that ancient churchyard, and beheld a rotting oblong box crusted with mineral deposits from the long undisturbed ground. Around the base was an inscription in characters which neither St John, walking home after dark from the centuried grave. May heaven forgive the folly and morbidity which led to the theory that we must possess it; that this treasure alone was our logical pelf from the long undisturbed ground. Now, however, we gave their details a fastidious technical care.
It is of this loot in particular that I destroy it long before I thought of destroying myself!
A wind, stronger than the night that the faint, deep, insistent note as of some gigantic hound, and those around had heard in the vilest quarter of the neighborhood. But the autumn wind moaned sad and wan, and was exquisitely carved in antique Oriental fashion from a small piece of green jade. After that we were troubled by what seemed to be a frequent fumbling in the forbidden Necronomicon of the visitor. Through these pipes came at will the odors our moods most craved; sometimes the narcotic incense of imagined Eastern shrines of the devilish rituals he had loved in life.
