Exploration of a negative situation of a sports venue

A sports venue is significantly important to sports events such as enjoyment, atmosphere and excitement. However, there are some negative sides to the perspective of a sports venue. The construction and transportation of stadiums can negatively impact the environment (Clark, 2021). For example, SoFi Stadium which is a new stadium constructed in Inglewood, California, to serve the NFL. As a result of air pollution and waste disposal, SoFi can have an impact on our environment (Clark, 2021).

Increasing levels of air pollution are affecting health in major cities worldwide every year (Bahri et al., 2021) and SoFi is located in Los Angeles, the biggest city in the US. Several sports centers are located near roads with high air pollution and are used as training or championship sites (Bahri et al., 2021). This is very important because sports like athletics, marathons, and football require athletes to compete in open areas (Bahri et al., 2021). Thus, as Bahri et al. mentioned, having a high air pollution concentration can negatively impact human health (2021). Most people do not think about any risks or the negative effects of sports venues when they participate in sports events. Risk management in sports events is still in the early stages of systematic analysis and research (Jiang, 2022).

Purpura stated that a wide range of access points, adequate security, and proper vehicle handling are all part of a large event (2022). The larger the sports venue or events, the more securities and managements become harder. Sports, entertainment, and rally events are increasingly taking place in large sports venues, attracting large crowds (Huang & Jia, 2014). Huang and Jia mentioned that the high density of people inside sports venues as a result of modern science and technology has greatly increased the risk of crowd disasters due to the increased scale and capacity of sports venues (2014). Risk management in sports is significantly important before, during and after sports events. Every sports venue has to work on risk management in order to succeed and achieve their goals. It is not only possible to increase sports performance through risk forecasting, but it is also possible to identify all possible weaknesses in athletes' preparation, lowering their risk of sports injuries (Dimitrova & Dimitrov, 2021).

Yet, the region’s entrenched gender stereotypes continue to pose significant challenges for these enterprising women. This article delves into the multifaceted obstacles female entrepreneurs encounter, underscored by academic research and regional socio-economic insights.

Historically, Southeast Asian societies have been deeply influenced by cultural norms that designate specific roles for women (Chant & McIlwaine, 2016). These societal expectations often confine women to domestic spheres, limiting their access to education and career opportunities. Consequently, female entrepreneurs grapple with restrictive gender expectations that can impede their progress (Arora, 2019).

Additionally, financial constraints hinder the growth of female-owned businesses. A study by Coleman and Robb (2012) reveals that women often face difficulties securing loans and procuring financial support, with gender biases permeating the lending process. Consequently, women entrepreneurs may have to rely on personal savings or informal lending networks, which can significantly limit their access to capital (Bruton, Khavul, & Chavez, 2011).

Furthermore, the scarcity of female role models exacerbates the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs. In Southeast Asian societies, where traditional gender norms persist, the absence of successful women entrepreneurs can hamper the aspirations and self-efficacy of potential female business owners (Welter & Smallbone, 2011). Consequently, the cultivation of supportive networks and mentorship programs is critical for empowering women entrepreneurs.

Additionally, addressing the gender gap in education and skill development is vital. A study by Suri, Tania, and Hasan (2020) highlights that female entrepreneurs often lack access to training and resources necessary for business success. By investing in education and skill development programs tailored for women, Southeast Asian countries can foster a more inclusive entrepreneurial landscape.

In conclusion, tackling the deeply rooted gender stereotypes and systemic barriers is crucial for supporting the growth of female entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia. Comprehensive policy interventions, gender-sensitive lending practices, and the promotion of role models and mentorship programs can pave the way for a more equitable and prosperous future for women in the region.

Gevherhan Sultan

Ibrahim's children started to be born in 1642, the exact order not always obvious. His first son Mehmed IV was born in January 1642, his mother Turhan Hatice was given the rank of first Haseki. The second Haseki was Hatice Muazzez, although her son followed the third Haseki's (Saliha Dilaşub) son, about a year later. This suggest that Muazzez may have given birth to a girl in 1642 between January and April. Gevherhan Sultan was born in 1642, but we do not know the exact month. Anyway, on the basis of the indirect information, we cannot rule out that Gevherhan's mother was Hatice Muazzez.

Gevherhan was married as a child to Cafer Pasha on November 23, 1646, but the wedding was only nominal. Some say it wasn't even this princess who was given to Cafer Pasha as a wife. Gevherhan’s marriages are surrounded by general chaos. Her husbands were Çavuşzade Mehmed Pasha and Helvacı Yusuf Pasha, but the dates are completely chaotic. Her first husband was Çavuşzade Mehmed Pasa, whom she married in 1647 (or 1653). Her next marriage with Helvacı Yusuf Pasha took place either in 1692 or as early as 1652.

We don’t know much about Gevherhan’s life, which is well illustrated by her marriages also. According to some, in 1672, along with several members of the harem, she also accompanied her brother Mehmed IV to his campaign. During her life she accumulated a huge debt, in which she was helped by Ahmed II's Haseki - the last Haseki - Rabia Sultan. At least that's what a post-death harem register suggests.

Gevherhan's health began to deteriorate gradually in 1693, and in the autumn of 1694, she died in Edirne. From there, her body was transported to the capital and eventually buried in the Şehzade Mosque complex.

Fatma Sultan

Fatma was born in September 1642, which makes it abundantly clear that her mother was not Turhan Hatice. Turhan gave birth to her son in January 1642, so it was mathematically impossible for her to gave birth to a healthy, viable child in September of the same year. Fatma was raised by Ibrahim I’s sister, Burnaz Atike Sultan, with the help of Turhan Hatice, suggesting that her mother passed away shortly after giving birth.

Her first marriage took place in 1645, Musahip (Silahdar) Yusuf Pasha was the husband, but the marriage proved short-lived because Ibrahim executed the man in January 1646. Barely a month later, Ibrahim remarried her, this time to Musahib Fazlı Pasha, who was also expelled a few months later.

Fatma died in 1657 and was buried in Turhan Hatice's complex. After her death, Turhan did a lot of charity on her behalf and organized prayers for her soul. Many therefore assume that Fatma was the daughter of Turhan, but this is utterly impossible if she was actually born in September 1642.

Beyhan Sultan

Beyhan was born in 1645. Some believe Turhan Hatice was her mother, but that’s not certain. The relationship between Turhan and Ibrahim has so far seriously deteriorated, so it does not seem logical that a child would be born into the relationship in that year. True that Ibrahim was famous for his illogical actions... Furthermore, it makes unlikely that Turhan would be her mother, that Ibrahim handed Beyhan to one of his favorites, the wife of Hazerpare Ahmed Pasha, to be raised. This suggests that Beyhan’s mother was already dead or fell out of Ibrahim’s favor and was exiled.

Beyhan was married in 1646 to Küçük Hasan Pasha, who died the following year. Her new husband was chosen in 1647. This time she married Hezarpare Şehri Ahmed Pasha, whose former wife became Ibrahim's favourite. In exchange for his ex-wife, Ibrahim offered one of his daughters. This covenant did not prove to be long-lived either, as the pasha was executed in 1648, and Beyhan was widowed for the third time at just 3 years old. Her next husband was Uzun Ibrahim Pasa, presumably, he was the first classic husband of the sultana. They lived together until 1683 when the pasha died. Beyhan lived as a widow for a few years, but in 1689 she was remarried to Bıyıklı Mustafa Pasha, with whom they lived together for ten years. Some say she her only child, Sultanazde Hüseyin Bey, was born from her second or third marriage; others say she had no children at all.

In 1672, Beyhan along with her sister, Gevherhan, and several other members of the harem accompanied her brother, Mehmed IV to his campaign. Based on this, we can assume that she was close to the sultan. In September 1700, Beyhan died and was buried in the tomb of Suleiman I. Others say she died in March 1701, during Ramadan.

Atike Sultan

The date of birth is unknown. She was probably the child of Turhan Hatice, for according to contemporary sources, Atike was Mehmed IV's own (full) sister. In addition, her name clearly refers to this also. Turhan Hatice was raised by Ibrahim's sister, Burnaz Atike, and then was gifted to Ibrahim by her. The two women maintained a close relationship for the rest of their lives. That is why it makes sense for Turhan to name her daughter after Atike. Assuming that the relationship between Ibrahim and Turhan was indeed troubled around 1645, Atike may have been born before that.

There are many question marks about Atike’s marriages. She may was confused with her aunt, Burnaz Atike in some cases. She had her first marriage in 1648 and married Sarı Kenan Pasha. The pasha was alive until 1659, so it is possible that it was not only a nominal marriage but over time it became a real marriage. After the death of the pasha, she married Mostarlı İsmail Pasha in 1659.

Not knowing exactly when Atike died, all we know is that she died at a young age, during her brother, Mehmed IV's reign.

Ayşe Sultan

Ayşe was born around 1646, the identity of her mother is unknown. Her first marriage took place late (compared to her sisters), in 1655. Her husband Ibşir Mustafa Pasha died in the same year. We don't know when Ayşe died.

Kaya Sultan

Neither the date of her birth nor the time of her death are known. She was married to Haydarağazade Mehmed Pasha in 1649. Her husband died in 1661, but since Ayşe was not remarried after that, it is possible that she died during their marriage.

Ümmügülsüm Sultan

The date of birth is unknown. The only thing we know about her is that in 1653 she was married to Mirahur Abaza Ahmed Pasha and shortly after the marriage the sultana passed away. So she died as a young child.

Two anonymous sultanas

One of the sultans is said to have been born in 1640, but that date is strange, given Ibrahim’s attitude to sexual intercourse. She married a man named Baki Bey, who was the son of Grand Vizier Hezarpare Ahmed Pasha. By the way, Hazerpare Ahmed Pasha married another daughter of Ibrahim, Beyhan. Baki Bey's supposed mother - Hazerpare Ahmed Pasa's first wife - was Ibrahim's favorite and governess of Beyhan Sultan.

The other anonymous sultana was to marry Kuloğlu Mustafa Pasha, but the man rejected the covenant. Thus, in January 1666, Cerrah Kasım Pasha finally became the husband of the anonymous sultana. It is not known when she was born and when she died, all that is certain is that in 1666 she was still alive.

Gevherhan Sultan

Ibrahim gyermekei 1642-ben kezdtek el születni, a pontos sorrend nem minden esetben nyilvánvaló. Első fia IV. Mehmed 1642 januárjában született, édesanyja Turhan Hatice kapta meg az első Haszeki rangot. A második Haszeki Hatice Muazzez volt, pedig fia nagyjából egy évvel később követte a harmadik Haszeki, Saliha Dilaşub fiának születését. Ez arra utalhat, hogy Muazzez talán életet adott egy leánynak 1642-ben január és április között. Gevherhan szultána 1642-ben született, ám hónap nem áll rendelkezésünkre. Mindenesetre a közvetett információk alapján nem zárhatjuk ki, hogy Gevherhan édesanyja Hatice Muazzez volt.

Gevherhant már gyermekkorában férjhez adták 1646 november 23-án Cafer Pasához, ám a nász csak névleges volt. Egyesek szerint nem is ő volt a hercegnő, akit Cafer Pasához adtak nőül. Gevherhan házasságait általános káosz övezi. Férjei között listázzák Çavuşzade Mehmed Pasát és Helvacı Yusuf Pasát, azonban a dátumok teljesen kaotikusak. Első férje Çavuşzade Mehmed Pasa volt, akihez talán 1647-ben (vagy 1653-ban) ment hozzá. Következő házasságára, Helvacı Yusuf Pasával vagy 1692-ben került sor, vagy már 1652-ben.

Gevherhan egészsége 1693-ban fokozatosan romlani kezdett, majd 1694. őszén Edirnében hunyt el. Innen a fővárosba szállították testét és végül a Şehzade mecset komplexumban temették el.

Fatma Sultan

Fatma 1642 szeptemberében született, ami teljesen egyértelművé teszi, hogy édesanyja nem Turhan Hatice volt. Turhan ugyanis 1642 januárjában adott életet fiának, IV. Mehmednek, így matematikailag lehetetlen, hogy ugyanezen év szeptemberében életet adott volna egy egészséges, életképes gyermeknek. Fatmát I. Ibrahim nővére, Burnaz Atike szultána nevelte fel Turhan Hatice segítségével, ami arra utal, hogy édesanyja nemsokkal a szülés után elhunyt.

Beyhan Sultan

Beyhan 1645-ben született. Egyesek úgy vélik Turhan Hatice volt az édesanyja, ám ez nem biztos. Turhan és Ibrahim kapcsolata eddigre már komolyan megromlott, így nem tűnik logikusnak, hogy közös gyermekük született volna. Tény azonban, hogy Ibrahim nem logikus cselekedeteiről volt híres. Beyhan néhány évig özvegyként élt, ám 1689-ben újból férjhez adták Bıyıklı Mustafa Pasához, akivel tíz évig éltek együtt. Házasságaiból egyesek szerint egyetlen fia született, Sultanazde Hüseyin Bey, mások szerint egyáltalán nem született gyermeke.

Beyhan 1672-ben testvérével, Gevherhannal és a hárem több tagjával együtt elkísérte IV. Mehmedet hadjáratra. Ez alapján feltételezhetjük, hogy közel állt a szultánhoz. 1700 szeptemberében Beyhan elhunyt és I. Szulejmán türbéjében temették el. Mások szerint a szultána 1701 márciusában, a Ramadán alatt halt meg.

Atike Sultan

Születési ideje nem ismert. Valószínűleg Turhan Hatice gyermeke volt, ugyanis a korabeli források szerint Atike IV. Mehmed édestestvére volt. Emellett a neve is egyértelműen erre utal. Turhan Haticét, Ibrahim nővére, Burnaz Atike nevelte majd ajándékozta Ibrahimnak és élete végéig szoros kapcsolatot ápolt egymással a két nő. Épp emiatt logikus, hogy Turhan, lányát Atike után nevezze el. Ha feltételezzük, hogy Ibrahim és Turhan kapcsolata valóban megszakadt 1645 környékén, Atike valószínűleg ez előtt születhetett.

Atike házasságaival kapcsolatban sok a kérdőjel. Előfordulhat, hogy nagynénjével, Burnaz Atikével keverik össze bizonyos esetekben. Első házasságát 1648-ban kötötte, Sarı Kenan Pasához ment hozzá. A pasa 1659-ig életben volt, így lehetséges, hogy ez nem csak névleges házasság volt, hanem idővel valódi házasság lett belőle. A pasa halála után Mostarlı İsmail Pasához ment nőül 1659-ben.

Nem tudni, hogy Atike pontosan mikor hunyt el, csak annyit tudunk, hogy fiatalon, bátyja, IV. Mehmed uralkodása alatt halt meg.

Ayşe Sultan

Ayşe 1646 körül született, édesanyja kiléte nem ismert. Első házasságára testvéreihez képest későn, 1655-ben került sor. A férj Ibşir Mustafa Pasa ugyanabban az évben elhalálozott. Nem tudjuk, hogy Ayşe mikor halt meg.

Kaya Sultan

Sem születési ideje, sem halálának ideje nem ismert. Haydarağazade Mehmed Pasához adták férjhez 1649-ben. A férje 1661-ben halt meg, ám mivel ezután Ayşe nem lett újra kiházasítva lehetséges, hogy házasságuk során hunyt el.

Ümmügülsüm Sultan

Születési ideje nem ismert. Az egyetlen amit tudunk róla, hogy 1653-ban hozzáadták Mirahur Abaza Ahmed Pasához és nemsokkal a házasságkötés után a szultána elhunyt.

Két névtelen szultána

Martyrdom of Imam Muhammad Baqir (as) 😢

The Imam announced his own Death 💔

The Ima`m felt the approach of his certain death. So, he hurried to his aunt, Fa`tima daughter of Ima`m al-Husayn, peace be on him. He announced his death to her, saying: "I have completed fifty-eight years. (1. Tadhkirat al-Khawas, p. 350. In Kashf al-Ghumma, vol. 2, p. 322,

it has been reported on the authority of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq, peace be on him, who said: [ My father Mohammed al-Baqir, peace be upon him, said] " Ali was killed at the age of fifty-eight, 'Ali b. al-Husayn died at the age fifty-eight. I am fifty-eight years old.).

Fa`tima understood what the Ima`m meant. Her heart melted with sorrows for her nephew. For he was the rest of the members of his family, who were killed by the swords of aggression and error. The Ima`m completed fifty-eighty years full of misfortunes.

Those years filled his heart with sorrow and sadness. His father, Ima`m Zayn al-'Abidin, and his grandfather, Ima`m al-Hasan, peace be on them, departed life at the same age. Thus, the Ima`m felt that he was about to die.

The Martyrdom of the Holy Imam (A.S) 💔

Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him, did not die a natural death. Rather, some sinful persons, who did not believe in Allah and the hereafter, gave him poison to drink. The historians differed over which sinful person who committed such a crime. The following are some of the views:

1. Hisha`m b. al-Hakam gave the Ima`m poisons to drink. (Bihar al-Anwar)

This is the most acceptable view. For Hisha`m was the most spiteful person towards the family of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and his family. His soul was full of malice and hatred towards them. It was he who forced the great martyr, Zayd b. 'Ali, peace be on him, to revolt against him. That was when he scorned and abandoned Zayd. Surely, the great Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him, shook the position of this tyrannical person (Hisha`m). That because the Ima`m's knowledge and outstanding merits were famous. So, the Moslems talked about his talents and abilities. Hence, Hisha`m killed the Ima`m to get rid of him. (Akhbar al-Duwal, p. 111)

Ibra`him b. al-Walid gave the Ima`m poison to drink. Sayyid b. Tawu`s thought that Ibra`him b. al-Walid took part in murdering the Ima`m, peace be on him.(Bihar al-Anwar)

This means that Ibra`him helped other persons to murder the Ima`m, peace be on him.

Some references have ignored the name of the person who assassinated the Ima`m, peace be on him. They have only mentioned that the Ima`m died of poisoning. ( Nur al-Abbsar, vol. 131. Ibn Tolan, al-A'imma al-Ithna 'Ashar, p. 281)

These are some of the views mentioned concerning murdering the Ima`m, peace be on him, with poison.

Reasons for the Murder of the Ima`m 💔

The Umayyads murdered the Ima`m, peace be on him. The reasons for that are as follows:

1. The Imam's high Character

Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him, had the highest character in the Islamic world. Moslems have unanimously greed on his high character. They have admitted his outstanding merits. All Moslem religious scholars from all Moslem countries came to him to learn his sciences and his morals. For the Ima`m learned that from his grandfather, Allah's Apostle, may Allah bless him and his family.

The Ima`m, peace be on him, possessed the sentiments of the people. Thus, they admired and respected him. For the Ima`m was the most prominent figure in the family of the Prophet, May Allah blesses him and his family.

Hence, the Ima`m's high social rank displeased the Umayyads. Accordingly, they decided to murder him to get rid of him.

2. The Events of Damascus

Among the reasons that moved the Umayyads to kill the Ima`m, peace be on him, were the events the Ima`m faced in Damascus. These events are as follow:

A. the Ima`m exceeded the Umayyads and others in shooting. That was when Hisha`m summoned the Ima`m to compete with the Umayyds and others for shooting. Hisha`m thought the Ima`m would fail in hitting the target.

Thus, he would be able to use the Ima`m's failure as means to degrade the importance of the Ima`m and to mock him before the Syrians. However, the Ima`m shot and hit the target several times. The people had never seen such skillfulness in the world of shooting. Hisha`m was full of anger. So, he decided to murder the Ima`m from that moment.

B. the Ima`m debated with Hisha`m on the affairs of the Ima`mate. The Ima`m defeated Hisha`m. So, the latter was full of malice towards the former.

C. the Ima`m debated with the scholar of the Christians on certain affairs. The Ima`m also defeated the scholar. So, the Syrians were busy talking about the Ima`m's victory over the Christian scholar.

His Testamentary Enjoinments 💔

Ima`m Mohammed al-Ba`qir, peace be on him, gave several enjoinments to his son, Ima`m al-Sa`diq, peace be on him. Among them are the following:

1. He said: "Ja'far, I give testamentary enjoinments to you (to treat) my followers well." So, Ima`m al-Sa`diq, peace be on him, replied: "May I be your ransom, I will make them (know their religion so well) that any man among them in the country will not (have to) ask any one (for advice). (Usul al-Kafi, vol. 1, p. 306)

He, peace be on him, enjoined his son to spend (money) on them and to take care of their affairs to make them devote themselves to seek knowledge, to record his traditions, and to spread his sciences and morals among the people.

2. He, peace be on him, enjoined his son al-Sa`diq, peace be on him, to shroud him in the cloak in which he used to perform the prayer.(Safwat al-Safwa, vol. 2, p. 63. Ibn al-Wadi, Tarikh, vol. 1, p. 184. Abi al-Fida', Tarikh, vol. 1, p. 214. Ibn al-Jawzi, al-Muntazam, vol. 7)

He wanted that to be a truthful witness with Allah for his great worship and his obedience to Him.

3. He endowed some of his money to some female weepers to weep for him for ten years at Mina.(Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 11, p. 62).

The reason for that is that Mina was the greatest center where Moslems gathered, and that there were many female weepers at it. This would make the Moslems ask about the reason for weeping. They would be told that the Umayyads persecuted and killed Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him. So, the Umayyad would be unable to hide the murder of the Ima`m.

As for the text of his testamentary enjoinments, it was reported by Ima`m Abu` 'Abd Allah al-Sa`diq, peace be on him, who said: [When my father was near to death, he said (to me): "Call witnesses for me." I summoned four men from Quraysh, among them Na`fi', retainer of 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar. (My father said:) "Write this testimony which I bequeath (like) Jacob did to his sons: My sons, Allah has chosen the religion for you. So, do not die except as Moslems.

Mohammed b. 'Ali makes this last testimony to Ja'far b. Mohammed. He orders him to shroud him in his cloak in which he used to perform the Friday prayer, to put his turban on him, to make his grave a square, to raise it the height of four fingers above the ground, and to take his shabby clothes away from him at his burial.

Then he said to the witnesses: "Depart, may Allah have mercy on you.

You"Father," I said to him (after they had gone), "what was in this that there had to be witnesses for it?"

"My son," he answered, "I was unwilling for you to be overcome and for it to be said that no testimony had been mad for him. I wanted you to have proof.

To the Highest Paradise 🌿

The poison acted quickly on the body of Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him. So, death approached fast. During his last hours, he gathered all his feelings and sentiments, and cleaved to Allah, the Most High. He began reciting the Holy Koran. He asked Allah's forgiveness. While his tongue busy praising Allah, death came to him.

So, his great matchless soul ascended to its Creator after it had enlightened the cultural scientific life in Islam. When the Ima`m died, the most wonderful stage of the Islamic message, which provided the Islamic community with the elements of awareness, development, and prosper, ended.

His Preparation (for Burial) 💔

Ima`m al-Sa`diq, peace be on him, prepared the holy body for burial. He washed it and shrouded it. He was weeping bitter tears for the missing of his father, who was the best person under the sky in knowledge, outstanding merits, and devoutness.

His Burial 💔💔

The people carried the great body from al-Hamima. They gathered around it. They were shouting: "There is no god but Allah! Allah is great!" They were greatly moved to touch the coffin of the Ima`m. They were mentioning the laudable and favors of Ima`m Abu Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him.

Then they reached at Baqi' al-Gharqad. They dug a grave alongside the grave of his father, Zayn al-'Abidin, the greatest Ima`m, peace be on him, and besides his great-uncle, Ima`m al-Hasan, the Lord of the Youth of Heaven, peace be on him. Then Ima`m al-Sa`diq buried his father in his final resting place. He buried with him knowledge, clemency, and kindness to people.

The martyrdom of Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him, was the greatest loss for the Muslims then. For they missed the leader, the pioneer, and the guide, who spared no effort to spread knowledge and cultural awareness among Moslems.

The Holy Ima`m, peace be on him, was martyred at the age of 58.
