This past week Jason and I spent the week on the strip at Caesars Palace. I had the entire week comped over 1k for around $300. Wahoo for taxes and resort fees! Not really complaining because hell of a deal. Though to be honest the amount we spent on food including room service fees likely will equal the amount we saved on the room being “free”.
We went because attending the Depeche Mode concert on that Friday. I quite enjoyed it. I will be the first to admit not really a FAN or know much about them, but I know 90% of the songs performed. I’m tired of people acting like to attend concerts you have to be stans of an artist/band; sometimes simply liking them is enough.
Unfortunately Jason didn’t really enjoy the show. He knows their music far less then me and found it so loud it was giving him a horrible headache. And because of that and other health reasons plus to beat the crowd we left during the encore. Yes I missed two ICONIC songs and I won’t lie I was bummed, but ultimately his health is the most important thing. I know he’d do the same for me if the tables were turned.
Tuesday my parents joined us because the four us all had a concert on Wednesday. Originally they were going to stay in our room but decided maybe getting them their own was a better idea. So we booked them one under Jason’s name since our room was still being under mine. We weren’t very happy it like $300 for a single night. But we excepted it. However when we went to check in told not only he got an update but an update to the luxury hotel with Caesars…Nobu. $400 room for free. Well $57 because again fees and taxes. We saw the room…pretty damn nice!
My dad had an appointment and had to do things at the house so my mom had a nice breakfast just her and I, then we joined Jason in our room to hang. Within a few of being there we heard a siren pass by the window, then another, followed by more and more. The three of us were confused and I will admit at first making jokes about the number, then it got to the point we were like something serious as to going on. Yeah our hotel was just blocks from UNLV campus where there was an active shooting.
The Wednesday concert was U2 at The Sphere. Jason as been excited about this for months. Sadly right before heading to the venue he started feeling really unwell and decided not to go. Feel bad for him because I know meant a lot to him. And my dad too. Honestly? Neither me and my mom were that excited. But I’m not excited we had to miss because of the reason why. Good news though not the full amount he was able to resell all 4.
Even though our checkout is Thursday it’s Wednesday and we are home. The plan we always to come home after the concert. I just hope us not physically being in the building will mess with online checkout in the morning. I’m sure it should be ok, likely situation like this happen to others.
That was my week. Or the highlights. Oh. Did have a $600 dinner! Never paid that much for a meal in my life. Good food. However I don’t think I plan on doing that again LOL.

In your bugstuck au, you said that lime-bloods have resurfaced on another planet in the Empire. Does this mean that there are other Nursery Worlds in the Empire other than Alternia itself, or does each planet have their own 'Kid Sector' where children are raised before assimilating into adult society?
THANKS for the great question!! Sorry for the long answer but i might have mispoken or changed my headcannons; limebloods have re-emerged in colonies outside The Empire. Propaganda denies the existence of the multiple settlements outside of their domains, but this is untrue. As a result of one of these cultures deconstructing casteism and allowing their Jadebloods freedom to live outside the convents and reproduce, a few young limebloods have hatched!
CAESER and CALIGULA are a pair of planets locked in BINARY ROTATION with each other. These planets were colonized by gold-blooded helmsman revolutionaries. The helmsman and their allies planned and collected all they needed from ALTERNIA and elsewhere settle the planets, then one goldblood sacrificed his life to create a powerful psychic barrier around the planets. He was posthumously declared the GOLDEN EMPEROR. No seadwellers were trusted by the revolutionaries, and as a result no violet or fuschia bloods live there. The smaller of the two planets, CAESER, has a massive megastructure city created by combining several grounded ships. This structure has three tiers: below the earth are huge caverns with trolls aged 1-6 sweeps and their lusus, acting as a nursery layer that keeps them safe from older trolls. In the center of the structure is a giant institution for trolls aged 6-9 sweeps, including dorms for them to live, divided by bloodcolor. They're moved up more quickly than on Alternia due to lusus underpopulation, and are allowed to visit their lusus and their sibling once a month (a lusus's next charge is considered a trolls sibling.) At the top is a palace where psychic-gifted goldbloods live separate from all other hemotypes and raise their heirs. Adult trolls migrate to the larger planet CALIGULA unless invited to stay at the school as instructors. The planet is otherwise dominated by fields and two seas, with the birthing caverns and mothergrub hidden somewhere beneath the fields.
The GOLD RULE binary system, following the teachings of the sufferer as whispered among helmsmen, abolished the hemocaste system; but many beliefs about bioessentialism of blood colors remain. Trolls are referred to as warmbloods and coolbloods, as opposed to being ranked, and are somewhat permitted to seek their own callings in life. The dorms house trolls by blood color, which is intended to keep warmbloods that are prey-imitating safe from predator-imitating coldbloods. Class schedules are also determined by blood color, with trolls needing to apply for classes outside of their schedule if they’re interested. For example, Floria, a petal mantis mimic and purpleblood, really keeps his head down to stay in his painting classes he adores. His scythes are wrapped with linen to keep them from intimidating warmbloods. Otherwise, most his assigned classes are physical and combat-based. Some of his fellow purplebloods disrespect his interests and most warmbloods he shares classes with ignore him. While the hierarchical system has been abolished, struggles remain.

Can "Weekends with Adele" Be Everyday With Adele?
BLOG POST 3 - LIVE REVIEW
Written by: Jaqi Mensah
For this Blog Post, I was able to locate a video of a recent performance by pop singer Adele. Donning the title "Weekends with Adele", it was her last performance in Las Vegas, specifically at the infamous Caeser’s Palace Resort hotel on March 25, 2023.
Tumblr media
The show features a total of 18 songs, all from different albums. Some being old songs, and some more of her recent works.
TRACK LIST:
Hello
Easy On Me
Turning Tables
Take It All
Water Under the Bridge
Send My Love
Oh My God
Don't You Remember
Rumour Has It
Skyfall
Hometown Glory
Love in the Dark
Set Fire to the Rain
When We Were Young
Hold On
Someone Like You
Rolling in the Deep
Love Is A Game.
It starts off with a pianist playing the opening to her hit song “Hello”. She didn’t make an appearance on the stage until the first verse was about to begin. As soon as she walks out, the crowd erupts into cheers and applause as she begins singing live.
After the second chorus, she stops performing and allows the crowd to begin singing.
She then performs another hit, “Easy On Me” and after this, she takes a break from performing and begins talking with the crowd.
I thoroughly enjoyed this part because it felt like she had a personal connection with the audience and was able to talk to them casually. Thinking about this from the perspective of the performer, she probably did this to take the pressure off of herself and have a little lighthearted conversation with the audience.
She begins performing the rest of the songs and once again the audience is under her spell.
I found it so intriguing that the majority of the beginning of the hour-long performance was done by just Adele and her pianist. I’ve never really watched a live performance before so I always assumed that it took so many instruments, people, and effort to make it look and sound good. However, with this performance, it seemed low effort but still delivered everything it needed to. With just her striking voice and the pianist’s fantastic execution, the performance really captivated the whole audience and this is everything I expected from Adele.
As she begins the 4th song, “Take it All”, three backup singers come out and begin swaying behind her and the pianist. They begin to repeat what she says and add a beautiful harmony that sounds like church music.

When it comes time to perform “Water Under The Bridge”, she brings out a whole drum set and drummer. The addition of the powerful sound from the drums echoes throughout the whole auditorium/ concert hall, and gives the song a depth it wouldn’t have had otherwise.
Tumblr media
My favorite part is when she began performing "Set Fire to the Rain". Not because it is my favorite song by her, but because of the sheer effort put into the production of the details behind her. For example, the rain falling from the ceiling of the concert hall, the fire being shot up from the floor, the guitarists and drummers, and Adele's powerful voice itself. Just mesmerizing!
I'd like to mention this article by the NY Times, "Adele Returns to the Stage in Las Vegas, Resolute and Reflective" talking about Adele's return to performing shows after taking a break. I'd like to highlight a part of the article regarding Adele's stage presence when it comes to her live performances.
"In one breath, the 34-year-old British musician will bellow a gale-force note that could shake a building’s foundation; in the next, she’ll mutter a colorful swear in her Tottenham accent."
I chuckled at this because it was something that I had noticed while watching the performance, how she could stop performing with such intensity and then crack a joke and have the audience go from devotedly singing to laughing.
Overall, I really admire the progression of the whole performance. How it starts off with just Adele and her pianists, and with each song she adds another element that makes the performance even more striking and beautiful.

If Goldies rule Alternia in Gold Rule, what happened to Fuchsias & Violets?
The planet Gold Rule takes place on isn't Alternia, it's a binary planet system with two planets, named Caeser and Caligula. Caeser has a three-tiered superstructure, with trolls kids aged 1-6 sweeps in the caverns below, teenagers in an academy in the second tier, and a palace on top where the goldbloods adults and wigglers live exclusively. After graduating from the school, adult trolls move to live on Caligula. No Fuchsias or violets joined (or rather, were invited) in the helmsman revolution/mutiny that led to the planets being colonized. Seadweller genetics simply aren't in the pool, so none are hatching.

do you think people will realize that the issue with having 3 grand prixs in one country is the fact that their sport doesn't need more races and has already got perfectly fine tracks with a good history of fun races. you want another jeddah style track? do you really want another jeddah style track? or a badly planned street circuit? Another Caesers Palace? If Liberty wanted to hold so many races in one country and draw in American audiences it should have bought IndyCar.
