the discussion of what makes canon canonical in the epilogues was really interesting but at the end of the day its a question with a blatantly obvious answer and its "if the fans like it it'll be canon" and even when something is dubbed canon by the creator, if the fans hate it they will disregard it, rendering it useless rendering it non canon

calliope is the one writting the candy timeline thats pretty well established, but she's writing it cause she's seeing visions of it and only Sometimes (( if we choose to believe her )) does she mess with the outcomes that were already there. (( would they be any different if she wasnt interfering? Doc scratch "interfiers" but we dont know if the story would be different if he wasnt. so in short idk prolly not )) But since the candy tineline is the one we've been seeing for the longest while now the fans are well invested in it theres Fanart and Edits and The blue curtains are a metaphor for pregnancy and a lot of fun concepts that we care about because we saw them in candy, I think this is why— other than calliope being a freak —calliope doesn't feel like ending candy? its cause the fans are invested, and calliope like most alien characters in homestuck did start off as an interpretation of the fanbase itself, then in her road of maturity became The author who writes the very text shes a fan of —> does this parallel homestuck being taken over by a new team, contained of the fans of homestuck? you decide

so it goes back to the homestuck cicle theory ( name in the works ) of Everything that happens in homestuck happened because it happened in homestuck, callie is writting Candy cause shes seeing visisons of it and shes seeing visisons of it cause it exists and shes writing it and shes seeing it making it exist and - you get it.. dont you

shes writing on the walls like a madwoman similarly to how the kids who took part in writing the genetic code were! but this code isnt contained of words or barks- its pictures, the visions shes seeing put together in a stained glass in a church kind of way- a genetic code in its own of the story of candy, fun!
