Its amazing that DHMIS has the most variety ive ever seen of what it reminded people of, i never would've guessed that Xavier:Renegade Angel to be on that list but i can definitely see what people are talking about when i give it a good think .... i’ve seen people interpret red guy telling stain to just not look at yellow during his breakdown in the death episode as a protective gesture (”don’t look at him because it will only continue to upset him”) and while i love that it really felt like. an extension of red’s odd brand of denial? right before, he tells stain not to look at the floor where the casket rose from, and as soon as yellow’s direct response to grief pops up he tells stain to just ignore it entirely. and that’s not because red’s a bad guy or unempathetic in general (even with their wacky little cartoon dynamic, he does not lack empathy for the others), it’s because his response to grief (and in more general terms negative emotional stimuli) is just that. just continue to ignore it and repress it. which i think is extremely funny when you consider that a scene later he forcibly molds a little clay guy to be the carbon copy of his dead bestie.
