Our 2024 Summary of Summits!

14. May - 667m. Our regular starting summit every year.

8. June - 978m. Dogless, but still worth it for one of my favourite summits.

19. July - 947m. Came back home after 5 hours without service to find the world in chaos (Crowdstrike incident)

27. December - 667m. The latest in the year we've ever done this summit.

And an honorable mention to the two summits I DNF'd this year. Both on my to-do list, and both the only summits I attempted this year that would have been new to me.

3. August - 1318m. And 14. September - 1326m. One DNF due to weather. the other because I got sick and had to turn back two hours in. Massive bummer but we'll try again next summer.

A non-choreographed game hosted by Blood of Heroes [two knights can grab the skull and run it to the end-line. If hit on the helmet, they kneel for ten seconds. Either remaining carrier can steal the skull and run to their end. Other knights must protect their skull runner] + various cosplays I saw around the faire! The templar trooper called me a heretic upon learning that Merrill is a blood mage… I said, "I may be an apostate, but-" and then took off running lol

I saw: Many a hobbit, many a Shrek, various Star Wars x medieval themed armors, several colonial outfits, four Gandalfs, three types of witchers, three Tavs, three Captain Jack Sparrows, two Maleficents, Legolas, Astarion, Gale, Karlach, Jaheira, Ciri, Aloy, The Hunter, King Baldwin IV, and a person in green goblin make-up with a shirt that read PARTY GOBLIN! My brother saw a lot of anime cosplays and kept pointing them out to me. He also saw a christ cosplay and went "Jesus!!" and they responded "My child 😇❤️" while walking past

At least the weather was relatively cooler than it has been for the past few weeks. I saw a lot of faire-goers in black 🙈 The mandalorian had a mic inside their helmet hooked up to a speaker on their shoulder, so you could hear them very clearly. Cool stuff!

TFN 2023 - Art haul!

I am back home and I finally had time to put up all of the art I hoarded from this (and a few from previous) TFNation!

I had two very empty walls for over a year and I am finally able to say...

Things have changed - for the better!

There was so much talent present??? dear heavens, it was a bliss to see so many amazing artists in one place!

This is not really an ask, and I might be a big incoherent.

I just want to say I find it really funny that Ernesto/Fellow, in one of your Playful Land comics, acknowledged the fact that your Yuu just…has no face. I don’t remember anny other characters mentioning it.

I mean, this random guy(?)(gender-neutral) is just walking around with no face, and no one really seems to notice it. Like, they’re magicless, it is implied that they come from a world with no magic, but they can see with a face that has no eyes. Does anybody ask about it? No. They’re all like “Oh look, It’s Yuu, the prefect or Ramshackle” and carry on with their day. Hilarious.

now, let's be fair, this is NRC (and also a world in which Rook exists, as a real human being who's allowed to just walk around and be Like That, legally, somehow). their first meeting was Yuu busting out of a coffin screaming "WHERE AM I. ALSO WHO AM I" and then immediately getting set on fire by their cat. is it really any wonder that Fellow was the first person in a position to actually notice/be tactless about the, y'know, whole faceless thing. everyone was probably just like "wow, okay, rude" (or would have been if they weren't being actively transmogrified at the time, but it's the thought that counts).

(tangentially, one of Fellow's home screen lines is basically "I was pretty freaked out when I saw Ortho for the first time, but now I realize that this school is just absolutely buckwild all the time" and it's my favorite. this man is a lifelong criminal who's indirectly murdered dozens(?) of people and even he's like "something is deeply wrong with these people".)

It's been 16 years [x] since the WGA strike of 2007 set a chain of events that led to Castiel the angel saying he loved Dean Winchester and promptly dying exactly 13 years later on the night of November 5, 2020, nowadays known as the destielputinelection night.

It's been three years. For some, the night of November 5, 2020 has become no more than a blur of chaos, whilst for others, the memories of that day remain as vivid and raw as back then, even three years later.

It's time to make peace with the fact that there will be no peace. The ghost of destiel has not left and has contaminated the internet, going so far as to causing Supernatural to trend solely because of the use of the Destiel meme to convey the news [x] [x] [x].

Just this morning, it contributed to Putin trending on the hellsite alongside BBC Sherlock.

At this point we might as well just accept our fate.

Last day of the year, and what did I feel like drawing after 2 days of not drawing anything at all? Crossover shenanigans! Courtesy of all the cool stuff @storyboard-sketch has been doing! (and more specifically this snippet of a fic that I've been lightly toasting at the back of my mind like a comforting marshmallow covered in icing sugar) Also figured it was time I tried drawing a werewolf again, and Werewolf!Isa gave me the perfect excuse to do that :3

Just for the first time getting just how much Fiyero must resent Glinda now. The movie shows Fiyero riding out of Shiz after the announcement about Elphaba, and Act 2 is basically Fiyero continuously showing us what he's prepared to sacrifice for Elphaba (spoiler alert: it's everything). And I'm assuming Glinda and Fiyero must talk about Elphaba and how things really went down with the Wizard in the years in between. So for Fiyero to find out that Elphaba asked Glinda to come with her and she said no? She abandoned Elphaba in her moment of greatest need, when Fiyero was riding out to find her, to help her the moment he heard the news....like, yeah, I get it from Glinda's side too, this isn't a fair assessment of her, I know. But from Fiyero's perspective i would just be so angry.
