FX's Adults is so genuinely laugh out loud funny, i love it. All the characters are a little insane but so real, and when I'm not laughing out loud im cringing so hard, because sometimes it's a little too real.

New ACOTAR theory....I think part of the reason Rhysand is such an utter dickwad to Nesta in ACOSF is because he believes that Nesta is next in line to become High Lady and inherit the Night Court.
Hear me out--Rhysand made Feyre High Lady. If that truly means something, then the magic should recognize it and (pre-death pact) if anything happened to Rhysand, Feyre should inherit the Night Court herself.
However, Rhysand and Feyre do have their death pact. And Rhysand does have relatives, but not super close relatives. Closest is probably Keir, or Mor, maybe some other random cousins. And the handwavy magic chooses who should inherit, but for the most part it seems to be a paternal line thing. But, again, Feyre is the first of her kind, and if High Lady actually means anything, she should be the next in line. Plus, the title follows powerful magic, and Feyre is very powerful, and she did claim some of Rhysand's powers when she was turned fae.
Anyway, Rhys doesn't have close living blood relatives, but guess who does babe? FEYRE! Feyre has two sisters who also happen to be fae now and also happen to have lots of powerful new skills. And Nesta is older, and she's stronger, and now I really think Rhysand thought there was a good chance that if he, Feyre, and the baby all died, Nesta was going to inherit everything, and he was scared pretty shitless at the thought. So, he took the cliched route and tried to control her and stymied her power and locked her away...but he did also keep her alive. Because if not Nesta, it would be Elaine, and I don't think Rhysand believed Elaine had it in her.
And maybe Rhysand thought Nesta realized it too, and he was worried Nesta was hoping they would all die so she could claim everything for herself.
Anyway, point is moot in the story now since they all lived, but it does give some new context and depth to Rhysand's choices if you believe it to be true.

The creators of the Pitt were like what if we create a show about the extreme hardships of being a healthcare worker particularly in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic but underneath that it’s an exploration of human nature and the ways we all crack under pressure and underneath that it’s about unresolved trauma and how it ripples out and affects everyone around us and underneath that it’s about milfs. And God bless them for it 🫡

i feel very stongly that elizabeth 100% would have sworn darcy to eternal secrecy about the fact that he had already proposed once unsuccessfully when she accepted, solely bc you just KNOW mr collins' smug ass would be like, "oh ho ho! huh! so apparently it IS the usual with young ladies to reject the addresses of the man whom they secretly mean to accept when he applies for their favor! hm! interesting!" and then she would be honor-bound to leap over lady catherine's dining table and strangle him

My new life hack is telling myself that i want to "practice adaptability". Sometimes I have trouble leaving the house, worrying about whether or not i left a door unlocked, a window open, curling iron plugged in, etc. But a few days ago, i started telling myself that it doesn't matter if i forgot to do those things, because I want to practice my adaptability. like, so what if i left the window open? if there's a storm, i'll clean up the water. if a bird flies in, ill wrangle it out of the house or call animal control. I tell myself I want to learn what to do if those things happen. i lie to myself about wanting to practice my reactions to bad situations, and it works?!?! i haven't forgotten to do any of those things before leaving the house yet, but i'm also not checking them ten times either! idk, thought i'd share, i'm either ill or a genius, probably a bit of both tbh

I had a thought the other day that in snow's eyes, he was the victor of the 10th hunger games. He wasn't, obviously, but in his warped view of the world he was, and i feel like part of him sees the subsequent district 12 victors as part of his and Lucy Gray's legacy.
I think Donald Sutherland was really onto something when he said that Snow adores Katniss in a strange way, and she is a kind of window to what he could have been, and I would go further and propose he feels similarly about all four victors.
He loves their spoken and unspoken understandings, the messages he sends them (milk for Haymitch, roses for Katniss). He wants to possess them (golden cage for Haymitch, the wedding clothes, making Peeta his wartime mouthpiece). There’s a kind of hideous affection or intimacy to all of it. It’s why he laughs when Katniss assassinates Coin. That’s his (never his) clever girl. And it all begins with Lucy Gray, the ghost girl he loved, but not enough.
It’s like the mockingjays. He hates them to a degree that it becomes an obsession.
It’s such a deliciously twisted take on a villain.

Miyo Saimori used her full powers for *one* day, saved her fiancé, saved the emperor, saved the world, took out the big baddy, then immediately retired and never used her powers again. What an icon

Haymitch says Katniss was luckier, but tbh the most significant difference between them was Katniss had Haymitch as a mentor
