March 8th, 2019 - Chopping off my hair

March 8th, 2019 - International Women’s Day (coincidence, I think not!) Jenny and I went to get our hair cut, her to go back to her usual and me to try something I've never done before: PIXIES! I never thought I'd be able to pull off a pixie cut but @beautybyloricass has proved me wrong and I gotta say... Not mad about it. It's giving me a leather jacket, dark lipstick vibe :)

Last year was one giant #badhairday. Before I was in the hospital for 8 days, the monumental pain in my back (that I found out was a shattered vertebrae) made me unable to wash my hair; and I obviously couldn’t wash it in the hospital - although they gave me a shower cap with dry shampoo in it, which just made it worse. It was like a giant, gross, white-person dreadlock. But not the cool kind. Super icky. I told Cutie Pie to shave my head, and, although he was reluctant, no one could have saved my hair after that. Luckily, I already knew that I could handle being bald; this was my second bout of breast cancer. It’s so weird seeing this video now … I was a day out of the hospital, still on a grip of narcotics and painkillers. What a crazy time. Thank you for supporting me and letting me share my story. February 22, 2019 -  Jenny and I did a fun photo shoot at the mansion at CCBC before the art gallery reception and I didn't realize but in most of my pictures I posed with my hands in my hair in some way, I think I'm subconsciously holding on to it cause it's gonna be gone soon. I'm thinking about whether I should cut it to a pixie or just shave it off before I start chemo... Decisions, decisions...

Can I just say how jazzed I am to be where the weather is normal and chill? The last couple of weeks have involved a lot of heat waves and uncomfortable sweatiness, so I’m glad to be where the weather makes sense - this is lush rainforest to me, even though by #pacificnorthwest standards this is like a mega-drought. I’m loving the cool breezes and cloud cover … and yes, my hair is still in an awkward phase.
