I am so done with conservatives/republicans trying to play the victim while being the problem.
"They were arrested for PRAYING!"
No, they were arrested for blocking others from accessing health care. Mind your own business, and this wouldn't happen.
"They were arrested for walking through the capitol!"
We've seen them on video beating a cop with the flag.
"Trump is being wrongfully prosecuted!"
Maybe he shouldn't have committed all that fraud. Or lied about his property values. Or stolen boxes of classified documents. Or committed treason. Or grabbed women by the crotch like he OPENLY ADMITTED TO.
"Christians are being persecuted!"
No, it's called "free speech", you dried turd. Whether it's a music video or criticism online, it's protected by the 1st Amendment.
There are more churches in America than hospitals. Consider that maybe people are sick of the literal "holier than thou" attitude so many of you exhibit, as well as the rampant bigotry, racism, and sexism. Also, christianity was spread using oppression and violence in the first place.
"The alphabet people and minorities already get special privileges! What rights don't they have??"
It disgusts me to no end that these people act like they're the victims of the marginalized groups they constantly harass, bully, and even assault just because those people are standing up for their rights. They whine about why they're not allowed to make others' lives miserable for reasons they didn't choose.

Today's compilation:
Totally Hits 3 2000 Alternative Rock / Pop-Rock / Pop / R&B / Adult Contemporary / Teen Pop
Time for yet another fun turn-of-the-millennium trip down memory lane, folks! Yesterday we got into a dispatch from America's bestselling contemporary hits series, Now That's What I Call Music!, but today we've got something from what was once their greatest competitor instead: Totally Hits.
And the biggest difference between these two series was ultimately the partnerships between the labels that put them out: the US version of Now was the result of a link-up between Capitol, EMI, Universal, Virgin, and their many subsidiaries, and Totally Hits represented Sony, BMG, Warner, Elektra, Atlantic, and their many subsidiaries. Now always wound up having the upper hand with the more popular collective catalog, but Totally Hits wasn't any slouch, either, even if they were Now's perpetual kid sister.
So, here we have a pretty solid collection of late 90s and early 2000s commercial fare that should provide for a nice nostalgia rush, but the most glaring omission on this third Totally Hits installment is that there aren't any boy bands at all. And that's because, by the time this album had come out, NSYNC—who had made an appearance on the prior volume—had successfully left their label, RCA, citing the glaring and overt exploitative practices of their manager, Lou Pearlman. And as a result, at the height of the teen pop explosion, the massive conglomerate that made up Totally Hits only had acts like Christina Aguilera and Vitamin C to show for it, whereas Now, with Jive Records appearing to fall under their umbrella, had not only NSYNC, but also the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears as well. And as a result, Totally Hits suffered because of it.
youtube
But TH wasn't to be totally ignored, because their releases still had plenty of good pop music on them, and although they may have faltered in the teen pop arena, where they seemed to make up for it was in alternative pop-rock and R&B, with late 90s-early 00s entities like Matchbox Twenty, Barenaked Ladies, and Third Eye Blind holding down the rock side of things, while dominant forces like Whitney Houston and Toni Braxton were able to supply some of the quality R&B.
And another dimension that Totally Hits had that Now really didn't was country. I might dislike the pair of tunes that TH selected here for this album, between Faith Hill's super poppy "The Way You Love Me,“ and John Michael Montgomery's eyeroll-inducing and deeply Christian-overtoned "The Little Girl," but including a very popular genre that Now wasn't paying much of any mind to at all definitely helped Totally Hits to differentiate themselves.
So, I'd expect a lot of people to be familiar with most of these songs, but two that I'd like to point out especially are Dido's "Here With Me" and Next's "Wifey." Both of these acts each had a hit that was far more popular than the one that ended up on this album—Dido's "Thank You," which was also liberally sampled for Eminem's "Stan," and Next's "Too Close," a #1 hit song about trying to suppress an erection while grinding on someone 😂. But "Here With Me," which was actually Dido's debut single, is a beautiful piece of tender female singer-songwriter pop, and "Wifey," the lead single off of Next's sophomore album, is a terrific slice of dreamy and softly funky male group R&B.
So if you're ever trying to piece together an eclectic representation of a turn-of-the-millennium American commercial pop music landscape, Now is, of course, essential, but it'd be foolish to sleep on what Totally Hits had to offer, because while Now was definitely better, they weren't monopolistic, and TH was there to capitalize on that circumstance.
Highlights:
Pink - "Some Girls" Matchbox Twenty - "Bent" Vertical Horizon - "Everything You Want" Third Eye Blind - "Deep Inside of You" Barenaked Ladies - "Pinch Me" Dido - "Here With Me" Toni Braxton - "He Wasn't Man Enough" Christina Aguilera - "What a Girl Wants" Next - "Wifey" Vitamin C - "Graduation" The Corrs - "Breathless" Whitney Houston - "Fine"

Queen Rania of Jordan celebrates her 53rd birthday on 31 August 2023
The Royal Court has released two new portraits of Queen Rania for the happy occasion.
The past year featured a number of joyous occasions for the Hashemites: the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein, the wedding of Princess Iman, the university graduation of Princess Salma, and the high school graduation of Prince Hashem.
In the days and weeks preceding their children’s weddings, Their Majesties were eager to share their happiness with their country’s people, involving the Jordanian public in the various celebrations marking the marriages of their first-born son and eldest daughter.
Her Majesty hosted a Henna party for Princess Iman, as well as a dinner party held in honor of the Crown Prince’s wife, Princess Rajwa, where the Queen and members of the royal family were joined by women from across Jordan’s 12 governorates to celebrate the two happy occasions. Both events spotlighted the richness of Jordanian culture and included several folkloric musical and dance performances by local female artists.
Throughout the year, Queen Rania continued to follow up on issues of importance to the Jordanian public by carrying out a number of visits to charitable associations, home-based businesses, startups, and other organizations across the country’s cities, villages, and rural areas.
A celebrated advocate for women and youth, Her Majesty’s local engagements included meetings with women artisans and young entrepreneurs, as well as visits to a number of women-led initiatives and associations supporting women’s financial empowerment.
During the holy month of Ramadan last March, for the second consecutive year, the Queen organized a mission to Umrah – the lesser Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca – for 500 women from across Jordan, a group of whom the Queen joined to perform the sacred pilgrimage herself. Earlier, in December 2022, Her Majesty took part in the lighting of the Fuheis Christmas tree among members of Jordan’s Christian minority.
Alongside her work within Jordan, over the course of the year, Queen Rania participated in several distinguished global gatherings, and accompanied His Majesty on a number of regional and international working visits.
At the invitation of the Her Majesty Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom, Queen Rania attended a reception at Buckingham Palace in London aiming to raise awareness of violence against women and girls. She also met with U.S. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden at the White House while joining His Majesty and Crown Prince Al Hussein on a visit to Washington, D.C.
While in D.C., the Queen delivered the keynote speech at the 2023 National Prayer Breakfast (NPB) Gathering’s International Luncheon on Capitol Hill, where she affirmed that religion is not “a shelter for hiding,” but “a launch pad for living.” She also posited that, in the face of widespread polarization, the act of prayer can lead us towards a better, more nuanced path that she described as “the third way.”
“This third way is not the average of extremes, but rises above the binary, elevating us to higher ground that can become common ground as well,” she said. “Our win doesn’t need to be someone else’s loss. And being right doesn’t mean that the other side is wrong — only that we need other points of view to see a multi-dimensional picture.”
The Queen also spoke at the 2023 Web Summit in Lisbon, Portugal, where she underscored the potential pitfalls of humanity’s increased reliance on technology. “I am concerned that we’re undervaluing the most precious currency of all – our time,” Her Majesty said. “I am concerned that, even as virtual reality improves by the day, we’re neglecting the needs of our actual reality.”
In her capacity as a member of the Earthshot Prize Council, the Queen delivered remarks at the first-ever Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, hosted in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. In her speech, Her Majesty called for mobilizing collective action and ingenuity to repair the planet, cautioning against claiming that “climate change is somebody else’s problem,” or leaving it for future generations to address.
This year, Queen Rania continued to use her global platform to advocate on behalf of refugees in Jordan and beyond. At the Clinton Global Initiative meeting in New York, Her Majesty explained that a refugee crisis is “not just a short-term humanitarian crisis,” but rather a “crisis of human development” that requires long-term solutions focusing on growth, building resilience, sustainability, and job creation.
Additionally, the Queen repeatedly underscored disparities in the treatment of refugees based on their country of origin. Speaking at the Paris Peace Forum, she noted the difference in reception of refugees from Ukraine to those from countries such as Syria, Myanmar, and South Sudan, who had also been driven from their homes.
“What accounts for the contrast in compassion? Does skin color make all the difference?” she asked.
In May, Queen Rania attended the coronation ceremony of the King Charles III and Queen Camilla in London alongside King Abdullah. Their Majesties also attended the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II in September.

Perry briefly had vocal lessons with Agatha Danoff at facilities rented from the Music Academy of the West.
Her singing caught the attention of rock artists Steve Thomas and Jennifer Knapp from Nashville, Tennessee, who brought her there to improve her writing skills.
In Nashville, she started recording demos and learned how to write songs and play guitar.
Perry signed with Red Hill Records and recorded her debut album, a contemporary Christian record titled Katy Hudson, which was released on March 6, 2001.
She toured that year as part of Phil Joel's Strangely Normal Tour and embarked on other performances in the United States.
Katy Hudson received mixed reviews from critics and was commercially unsuccessful, selling an estimated 200 copies before the label ceased operations in December.
Transitioning from gospel music to secular music, Perry started working with producer Glen Ballard and moved to Los Angeles at age 17.
She opted to work with Ballard due to his past work with Alanis Morissette, one of her major inspirations.
In 2003, she briefly performed as Katheryn Perry to avoid confusion with actress Kate Hudson and later adopted the stage name "Katy Perry", using her mother's maiden name.
In 2010, she recalled that "Thinking of You" was one of the first songs she wrote after moving to Los Angeles.
Perry would also perform at the Hotel Café, performing new music while she was between record labels.
In 2004, she signed to Ballard's label, Java Records, affiliated with The Island Def Jam Music Group. Perry began work on a solo record due for release in March 2005, but it was shelved after Java was dropped.
Ballard introduced her to Tim Devine, an A&R executive at Columbia Records, and she was signed as a solo artist.
By November 2006, Perry had finished writing and recording material for her Columbia debut titled Fingerprints (with some material later appearing on One of the Boys), planned for release in 2007.
Some songs from Fingerprints that did not make it onto One of the Boys were given to other artists, such as "I Do Not Hook Up" and "Long Shot" to Kelly Clarkson, and "Rock God" to Selena Gomez & the Scene.
Perry worked with songwriters including Desmond Child, Greg Wells, Butch Walker, Scott Cutler, Anne Preven, the Matrix, Kara DioGuardi, Max Martin, and Dr. Luke.
After Devine suggested that songwriting team the Matrix become a "real group", she recorded an album, The Matrix, with them.
The Matrix was planned for release in 2004 but was cancelled due to creative differences and was released in 2009 after One of the Boys.
Perry was dropped from Columbia in 2006 as Fingerprints neared completion.
After being dropped, she worked at an independent A&R company, Taxi Music.
Perry had minor success prior to her breakthrough. One of the songs she recorded with Ballard, "Simple", was featured on the soundtrack to the 2005 film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
Perry provided backing vocals on Mick Jagger's song "Old Habits Die Hard", included on the soundtrack to the 2004 film Alfie.
In September 2004, Blender named her "The Next Big Thing".
She recorded background vocals on P.O.D.'s single "Goodbye for Now", featured at the end of its music video in 2006, and performed it with them on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
In 2006, Perry appeared in the music video for "Learn to Fly" by Carbon Leaf, and played the love interest of her then-boyfriend, Gym Class Heroes lead singer Travie McCoy, in the band's music video for "Cupid's Chokehold".
2007–2009: Breakthrough with One of the Boys
After Columbia dropped Perry, Angelica Cob-Baehler, then a publicity executive at the label, brought Perry's demos to Virgin Records chairman Jason Flom. Convinced she could be a breakthrough star, she was signed to Capitol Records in April 2007.
The label arranged for her to work with Dr. Luke to add an "undeniable smash" to her existing material.
Perry and Dr. Luke co-wrote the songs "I Kissed a Girl" and "Hot n Cold" for her second album One of the Boys.
A campaign started with the November 2007 release of the video to "Ur So Gay", a song aimed at introducing her to the music market.
A digital EP of the same name was also released that month.
Madonna helped publicize the song by praising it on the JohnJay & Rich radio show in April 2008, stating "Ur So Gay" was her "favorite song" at the time.
In March 2008, Perry made a cameo appearance as a club singer in the Wildfire episode "Life's Too Short" and appeared as herself during a photo shoot that June on The Young and the Restless for the show's magazine Restless Style.

Though You Slay ME | Shane & Shane
I come, GOD, I come I return to the LORD The ONE WHO's broken The ONE WHO's torn me apart YOU struck down to bind me up YOU say YOU do it all in love That I might know YOU in YOUR suffering
Though YOU slay me Yet I will praise YOU Though YOU take from me I will bless YOUR Name Though YOU ruin me Still I will worship Sing a song to the ONE WHO's all I need
My heart and flesh may fail The Earth below give way But with my eyes, with my eyes I'll see the LORD Lifted high on that day Behold, the LAMB that was slain And I'll know every tear was worth it all
Though YOU slay me Yet I will praise YOU Though YOU take from me I will bless YOUR Name Though YOU ruin me Still I will worship Sing a song to the ONE WHO's all I need
Though tonight I'm crying out Let this cup pass from me now YOU're still all that I need YOU're enough for me YOU're enough for me
Though YOU slay me Yet I will praise YOU Though YOU take from me I will bless YOUR Name Though YOU ruin me Still I will worship Sing a song to the ONE WHO's all I need Sing a song to the ONE WHO's all I need

…you know….I usually stay in my own lane and try to keep the rants to a minimum here. There’s not much on the internet to worth getting any panties in a bunch about.
But this shit pisses me the fuck off.
I hate religion. I hate transphobia.
I hate transphobia in the name of Jesus.
Back in a previous lifetime when I heavily drank the evangelical koolaid, i photoed, I supported, I was moved by these absolutely disgusting abhorrent people.
No more.
Now I call them out and stand against their disgusting very clear pro trump, anti abortion, anti trans, anti gay stance and message.
