#kingdom hearts 3 #kh3 #nobodies #dusk #sniper #reaper #ninja #gambler #berserker #sorcerer #my gif #i'm a nobody enjoyer so of course i'm gonna make another set with them #nobodies are so reflective in this game i wonder if it they were originally intended to look this way #it would have been difficult to visually convey that in the old engine since lighting and shadows were all drawn onto the texture map #but that's not an issue anymore since there are far less lighting and graphical restrictions #anyways i'm glad we got a couple new nobodies #because their designs rule #i love how the one that represents marluxia can morph its body to look like the pod that sora slept in at castle oblivion #while the one that represents larxene has flowy scarf tails that are reminiscent of her unique hairstyle. the knife hands are cool

While I am unable to watch the "New Adventures of Cinderella" and I can't tell you if it is indeed as bad as every says... I did find behind-the-scenes pictures of the sets used for the movie, in the set designer's online portfolio! And while you can say everything you want with the scenario being bad or the joke offensive, they still did a very good job with the set - at least from the appearance of these pictures.

The living room ("salon") within Cinderella's house:

Bad.#like babes I wouldn’t call myself a master of the field or anything yet but holy shit #then I look at the covers for the rest of the series & her other stuff and??????? some of it is EVEN WORSE.#even some of the better ones have glaring issues with contrast or basic hierarchy #like what the hell happened here I know there are good covers for Howl’s Moving Castle out there #it heavily reminds me of the work I did making cover art for my brother’s Roblox map at age 12 #whoever at audible was tasked with setting up her books did her severely dirty like my god #new summer project for me I’m redesigning that cover for a portfolio piece #spilling the Tea #howl’s moving castle

oh i also talked a lot about fire emblem today. specifically whether i was planning to buy Engage or not. verdict is: Probably, considering reviews say the tactics gameplay is really rich & that's like 80% of why i enjoy playing fire emblem. so yes i am not a fan of the character designs. but i will probably buy it. at some point.

i went to gamestop after work to see if i could find it but didnt see it and INSTEAD i saw 2 games for relatively cheap. so i got those instead.

#speculation nation #it's uhhh horizon zero dawn. which ive heard good things about. and tales of arise. which ive known i'd b getting eventually #considering how ive enjoyed every tales of games. & xillia 2 Still is the only game that's made me cry like a baby Twice #reviews seem pretty positive for tales of arise too so tbh more likely i'll play that first.#character designs of party members seem pretty solid too #i also got two sets of dice for a total of $4 so like that's pretty rad. im up to 82 sets now. Woo #i. need to go to sleep lskdjflskdjf #but ya me chatting with my coworkers who dont know fire emblem about different games #mentioning that my fav is still fe echoes bc it is superior in character design. story. map tactics. and ESPECIALLY the music.#but also i'll enjoy a slightly trashy fire emblem game which i KNOW bc i loved fates. genuinely.#it gets a lot of hate & god Knows i can complain about its faults endlessly #but i have a lot of fun with it and i love a lot of characters. So.#tbh so many ppl love three houses but i honestly enjoy fates more. there's a reason ive completed like 4 games of fates #and im still struggling through my 3rd of 4 playthroughs of three houses lmao #the maps are fun but there's too much downtime. & i feel like i Have to use the downtime bc otherwise im losing out on skill grinding #but i dont like fire emblem for wandering around and talking to people. i like fire emblem for playing complex tactical maps #and sure yea i could up the difficulty. probably will have to for my next three houses game to keep it interesting (it is WAY too easy)#but. yeah. back to back battles is probably Also a lot of why i like echoes #no wasting time just puttering around. we're on a WAR PATH. why would we go back to the castle between every fucking mission?#it makes no sense. genuinely.#anyeays uhm. fire emblem. i'll get it eventually.

people will spend months in a sandbox game like minecraft/factorio/satisfactory perfecting a base or a build idea. i'll spend months perfecting a diy linux install and wineprefixes to *run* sandbox games. or any game tbh

#daemon.md #gaming #linux #wine #proton #sandbox games #the one thing i don't understand about sandbox and basebuilder games is how the goal of the base is to produce all the resources #often automated and as fast as possible #and yet once the base is complete there's usually no use for it #in factorio the goal is usually a set amount of science/min (a meta-goal of sorts testing your engineering skill)#or it's about trying different and wacky builds #but like in minecraft so many people will start over once they have all the farms and a castle/house/whatever #that's basically just empty decoration #and like the point to me of building a base that provides all the resources you need is to enjoy building it firstly #and to be able to upgrade and improve it (with new designs)#but to then go out and use the resources it produces to build or create something #and to enjoy your creation #build a castle and then go roleplay in it #make your creation have some level of permanency #getting my game library working via proton/wine etc. has a goal of i can play those games #i can use the time i spent to get something i enjoy out of it #same with a working install #especially when i get dotfiles and git set up properly #idk #this is also a super long set of tags oops

those who have seen Dark Castle's films (House on Haunted Hill, Ghost Ship, etc.) can someone tell me what the style of architecture and interior design those sets utilized? they have a very specific look to their locations.

asking because we're watching Ghost Ship and it struck me that I don't see set design quite like these very often. tho I do think See No Evil actually comes the closest (in style and in griminess lol).

#its The Most cheesy 90’s shlock i’ve seen in awhile. kids show straight to dvd ass movie.#also really dont care for the steampunk sex dungeon tardis design. bit weird innit. i like how cluttered it is but it feels too… idk. posh?#i do mean that description btw. the console room is all frankensteiny & then theres rooms that are just straight up castle rooms #with big fuckass wooden doors. its like they just reused whatever medieval sets they had lying around
