im fully expecting the show to go the way of the movies. it doesnt help Sea of Monsters is almost unanimously the least favorite book of the first series. People frequently forget it even exists or what happens in it, especially more casual fans.

Heck, just look at how little fanfare the second season has gotten so far as compared to the build up to s1. I wouldn't be surprised if s2 totally flops. It would be a little funny.

I'm still processing my thoughts, but here are my first impressions:

I can't believe the future!Mayday was actually for something. Those guys do so much "for fun" stuff, that I really didn't see it coming. Or at the very least, I didn't see another game coming - I was expecting a graphic novel or somethin'

It looks like they might finally put in their initial concept for NSR, which was a rhythm-driving game of all things. I guess they just couldn't let that one go, but it'll be cool to see how they fully implement that system.

This is early footage, so it's possible that this just hasn't been implemented yet, but it's interesting that it looks like you travel through the world solo, as opposed to having either half of B2J follow whoever you're playing as.

It seems that there's a third character that hasn't been fully revealed yet. If it's Yiruk, everyone owes me $50 for calling that shizz from day 1.

I am a bit concerned about what the story is going to be. A LONG time ago, someone once asked me about my ideas for an NSR sequel (you can read it here). My original concern was that since NSR is combat focused game, and the "evil" of the first one was defeated, if there was a sequel, the new target would have to be outside of NSR (the company). And, that does seem to be the case with all the new faces we're seeing, but then I wonder what exactly they're fighting for now. Fairly recently, I had to make peace with the fact that I don't agree with NSR's politics (I still love the game, but ultimately I don't agree with how its final conflict was resolved), so I wonder if that's going to continue into the sequel.

d&d is so fucking funny. theres a secret society thats gonna destroy the city we're in and use said destruction to ascend their god. theyve been stalking some of our party members practically since they were born. they have feelers in civilizations that most people don't even know exist.

they also have absolutely no idea whats going on with my character and it is pure comedy.

we found notes on all of us party members made by the bbeg last sesh and everyones like "omg how do they know about the fire in my childhood" and shit.

the secret society doesnt even know everetts been dead for a year.

you'd THINK that a secret society with the power of a god behind them would be able to dig more into someones past and notice "hey this guy had a terminal illness and then disappeared for a full year. his gravestone is in this graveyard. hey why is he walking around again".

omg ur fave game is caligula effect 2. i love that game i never finished it but i loved it so much. the soundtrack absolutely slaps. i need to finish it now i literally stopped before the final boss because i got scared. i miss it so bad

YEAH IT IS honestly the final area looks intimidating but the boss and the reveal is genuinely so good??? I don't want to spoil it because it's genuinely so great to experience firsthand by yourself and let all the emotions hit you straight in the face. I hope you can get around to it soon FR!!

to be fair i understand people being cautious about headcanons bc i feel like its more likely that a gay/bi/ace creator would feel iffy about their character being headcanoned otherwise. but that IS just an assumption and if anyone ever gave someone shit for headcanoning q!jaiden into a ship or whatever i Would Kill Them.

no yeah, i definitely understand being cautious about it or it not being your cup of tea, but like. i just think being genuinely angry or getting into heated debate about it is insane. bc as you said, it Is an assumption and it feels like one of those “imposing fake boundaries” things a lot of the time. and a lot of ccs lately have been playing with how they portray their characters’ identities!! iirc e2!joey is bisexual (while cc!joey is gay) and a BUNCH of pirates characters either have a different sexuality or pronouns compared to their creators. i think as long as you’re respectful about it there’s nothing wrong with it

as much as i am excited for shadow in sonic 3 i still REALLY wish they hadnt jumped straight to sa2 n done sonic adventure instead or Something. obviously i get why they did shadow but i agree i really hope they dont just straight up adapt sa2 because theres so many moving parts. my biggest fear is that theyre gonna introduce characters like rouge and amy who are integral to shadows story (in sa2) at the same time and that its just gonna be a mess

yeah i love rouge and amy but if the next movie has to handle introducing both of them along with shadow then things could get really messy and i highly doubt that all three of them would get the amount of screentime and focus that they deserve. rouge was introduced at the same time as shadow anyway so thats not as much of an issue its mostly amy im worried about. she was already an established character who had been around for a few years when sa2 came out. assuming that the next movie is gonna be an sa2 adaptation and amy is going to be in it how are they going to handle that being her first appearance? and while i dont think i want the movies to be exact copies of the games in terms of story i do find it a tiny bit annoying that they seem to be somewhat going in order in terms of what characters they introduce and what games they adapt but just completely skipped over everything with amy in it and shes still the only main character who hasnt been introduced in the movies yet and they revealed shadow before her. like on one hand yeah shadow is one of the more popular and widely recognized sonic characters so it makes sense to use him and hype him up but also why did you have to do my girl amy like that

you burst out laughing. “you’re so dramatic.”

you swatted at his arm, flustered. “it’s just perfume!”

he was painting—focused, shirtless, streaks of color on his arms—when you crept up behind him and wrapped your arms around his waist.

he stilled.

then he turned his head slightly, inhaling, like a wolf catching a scent in the wind.

“did you just cast a spell on me?”

you bite back a smile as he ducked down, nosing along your neck, groaning softly. he slinged an arm around your waist pressing you to his side.

“delicious. is that new?”

you just smirked. “wouldn’t you like to know.”

he laughed under his breath, mouth finding your neck, your shoulder, wherever he could get. “if you wore this to mess with me, it’s working. i want to paint you now. naked, preferably.”

SYLUS

you barely walked past him before sylus turned his head, eyes narrowing like he just picked up on something forbidden.

he stepped closer, towering over you, his hand curling gently under your chin. “...you smell dangerous,” he said lowly, his voice already laced with heat.

he tilted your head up, heart fluttering as he leaned in, his mouth brushing against the back of your ear. he moved lower, lips grazing your neck, then the space just under your jaw.

“what is that scent?” he murmured, like it was bothering him. like it was consuming him.

“do you like it?”

he huffed a soft laugh against your skin, kissing your throat like he was losing control. “you’re not allowed to wear it around anyone but me. understood?”

XAVIER

you slipped under the covers beside him, thinking he was asleep. he wasn’t.

the second your body curled into his, his arm came around your waist, slow and sure. he inhaled once, then again.

“…what is that?” he muttered, voice rough with sleep. he buried his face in your neck without waiting for an answer.

you giggled and his arm only tightens around you.

“not funny,” he mumbled, lips brushing your throat. “you smell like trouble.”

“you’re imagining things.”

“i’m not.” he kissed your collarbone, again and again, slower. “we’re not leaving this bed today.”

ZAYNE

you stepped into zayne’s office for your monthly check-up, but the second you approached his desk, he looked up like you’d just walked in wearing nothing but your birthday suit.

before you could sit at your usual chair, his hand found your wrist and guided you into his lap instead.

he didn’t say anything, just leaned in and breathed you in like he needed the scent to live.

“…what did you put on?” he asked, lips brushing the underside of your jaw. “you’ve never smelled like this before.”

you pretended to play dumb. “what do you mean?”

he exhaled a low chuckle, his voice raspier than usual. “don’t play with me. this—this is lethal.”

then he kissed your neck, slow and open mouthed. “fuck, you’re gonna get me fired.”
