We need better language to talk about pets. I do not own my cats, you can't own any other living creature. I brought them to live with me, and promised to care for them to the best of my abilities, for as long as possible. We all share the same house, and enjoy each other's company. We're a little family. And there needs to be a better way to talk about the relationships humans form with non-human creatures. While "catmom" and "catchildren" are good place holders, I still find myself longing for something better.

I doodled all four of my more "special" cat characters from the comic I'm working on sitting on a brick wall together, like more normal cats might! Instead of normal, we have Dream World Secretary Yonaara, Angel of Death Amaiyo, main character and doodle cat Meoto, and Grand Witch Persephone's familiar, Palette.
