You find him in Omashu, of all places. You'd really only gone there to collect Mai. You didn't expect to run into Zuko while you were at it. He's accompanied by a pair of Earth Kingdom children, one of whom is clearly blind. He's really let himself go in his exile- if it weren't for the distinctive burn, you're not sure you would have even recognized him.

You make him an offer. Father has changed his mind about his exile. He thinks he did the right thing at the North Pole- Zhao's plan to kill the moon was foolish, and would have had consequences even for the Fire Nation. He'll restore your honor.

For a moment, you think you have him... but then his gaze turns hard. He says no. You sigh. You wanted to do this the easy way, out of consideration for the fact that he's your brother, but very well. If he wants to make this harder than it has to be, you suppose you can do that.

You attack. The blind Earth Kingdom child is an earthbender, but to your surprise, the other one turns out to be an airbender. Somehow, that's not what ends up surprising you the most.

Zuko earthbends.

Zuko didn't just throw his lot in with the Avatar. He is the Avatar.

When I brewed Asra's backstory, and included the Stag King as the constant romantic torment of her life (for ther past 140 years of her life, more or less), I was deadly set him being a dakr-haired archfey, all broody.

BUT THEN.

I watched "The Hobbit" with my husband yesterday night (part of it anyway), and decided that FUCK IT.

THE STAG KING WILL LOOK *EXACTLY* LIKE THRANDUIL.

He fits perfectly for how I imagine The Stag King: cunty, serving looks for days, a bit of an ass (help me say "a bit"), ethereal because DUH, we are talking archfey here, but all up in his feelings for Asra (also gonna bring those scars he has in play because fml I can never have enough tragic characters in my roster).

If mother and daughter could ever sit and talk for a coffee, they would have stories to share and advices to give to each other lololol.

I like that the main difference between Aranea's and Asra's situation with their two suitors is both parallel and going into different directions at the same time: Aranea sought Mephisto out, she eventually leaned into his charm and power and fully embraced the corruption he brought onto her; Asra, instead NEVER sought the Stag King in the first place, she stumbled into his dreamscape by ACCIDENT (thank goodness for Hiraeth and her cold iron dagger), and while he is trying to actually have her make a pact with him, she is very much like "NOPE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, I AM GOOD." (Papa Halsin warned her TIMES AND TIMES AGAIN about the dangers of making pacts with creatures, be them fiends or archfey. He never explained it to her in detail, but that's exactly how she ended up without a mother).

"Nicky, you're going to have to be more specific about what you're talking about." Aaron says poking at the peas on his plate.

"Those won't get eaten unless you actually put then in your mouth." Kevin points out to Aaron who flips him the bird in response.

"My mom and dad are going to come to the team dinner." Nicky answers with a bright smile.

"Uncle Luther and Auntie Maria?" Aaron asks in surprise.

"No his other parents." Andrew rolls his eyes mixing his mashed potatoes and his corn.

But I read that father's day fic with IAU Time and Wars (wonderful fic btw!!!) and I thought, how does IAU Legend, Twi, Wind, Four, Wild, and Hyrule celebrate father's/mother's day with Time/Malon?

I do short periods where I take fic requests, but they’re closed right now, sorry anon 😅 But I do have some things about mother/Father’s Day I can tell you at least :)

For both holidays, the kids usually try and at least make their parents cards, or a little gift, depending on things. They usually just do cards though. Time probably takes them all out fishing one time, and that goes... okay (nobody drowns, so that’s a win in his book).

Twilight usually tries to get his younger siblings to not fight with each other on the day (Wild and Legend, ahem), and also just do more around the house so whichever parent it is doesn’t have to do as much. Legend does try not to start dumb arguments with Wild (it’s harrrrd, Wild is always doing dumb stuff), and also tries to be more helpful. On Mother’s Day, he also spends more time as a rabbit, since he knows his mom likes animals (Malon loves both his forms, but she does think it’s sweet).

Wild (once he’s old enough) often makes breakfast in bed, and gets his siblings to help (sometimes this is fine... sometimes it is not). He always works extra hard on his card too, he wants to show his parents how much he appreciates them. And when he’s a little bit older, he starts wondering about his birth parents a little, and often spares a thought or two towards them on mother’s/father’s day. Hyrule is similar, in that he wants to show his parents how much he appreciates them (and will never stop being grateful that they took him in), though he does also wonder about his birth parents like Wild does.

Wind and Four mostly do the same, try not to fight, help Wild make breakfast, make nice cards (Wind tends to use lots of stickers). Four always makes his parents a little gift, even if it’s something small (pipe cleaner flowers, popsicle stick something, etc), though they do get a little nicer once he’s older and better at making things.

In character, Vaard always and will be mostly a tank. He’s a tank/dps hybrid but leans more to the tank side. My love of tower shields knows no bounds.

As a player I will always play DPS because tanking is more stress than what’s fun. I’ll always enjoy the fantasy of tank classes, though.

I will tank a tiny amount in FFXIV though. Tiny.
