Chairman Meow to Church

Well, it's been a while! I am trying to be better about posting, I truly am. Today, since it is a miserable rainy day here, have an adorable letter from Chairman Meow to Church, after Church has moved to England. :) Written for Diane from Kickstarter.

Church Cat,

My person, the taller one, promised me that he would bring this message to you at your new palatial home in England. He has told me that the palatial home actually belongs to your human, but I do not believe him. That sounds like humanist anti-cat propaganda.

He also said he did not know what a small cat would do with such a large home. Clearly he does not understand us at all. As you know, there are many rooms that can be important in a cat’s domain. There is the room for lying around sleeping in, and the room for chasing mice, and the room for meowing loudly, and room with the best sunspots for napping in, and the room with the best furniture for sharpening claws, and the room where there are most likely to be mice.

This is the second time I have mentioned mice. I must be hungry. I will find my other human and alert him that it is time for the can-opener. Please accept this housewarming gift of a false mouse stuffed with drugs. The humans call it catnip. I’m sure you have enjoyed it before, since you are very old.

Okay but the other Soulmate au option for Tseng/Cloud is so funny to me because like

Imagine trooper Cloud waking up on his birthday both excited and terrified to see if he has a soulmark (and really he doesn’t expect to see one. Why would someone like him have a soulmark? Who would want to be bound to him for the rest of their lives anyway he was just… Cloud.) only to freeze when he sees the name looking back at him.

Just one name. No last name.

A name he knows in perfect handwriting that he does not.

Tseng.

He has heard stories about the Turks, everyone in Shinra has. About the leader of the Turks as well.

And Cloud can’t imagine what he could possibly offer to someone like Tseng. How he could ever be worthy of having someone so capable as his soulmate. He’s just some soldier flunky making his way through the infantry trying to gain as little notice as possible.

He also gives it approximately twenty seconds before a Turk (his or one of his subordinates) is breaking down his door because there is no way in hell Tseng would leave a loose end as big as Cloud Strife unaccounted for. So Cloud does the only thing he can think of that sounds semi reasonable… he sneaks out of the room through the vents and spends the day dodging every suit he sees while somehow managing not to be labeled as a deserter.

would you be alright with fanfiction of LSoW? i've been bitten by a plot bunny about sal and yoshi reuniting in canonverse after 20+ years of radio silence ("isn't that premise incredibly depressing?" *cracks knuckles* yes but no, not if i do it right). i might like to polish and post it (with credit obviously), but i'd also happily keep it to myself! up to you. :)

I actually briefly discussed this with someone before on discord and made ourselves sad thinking about it! I would absolutely LOVE and fic for this series, and anyone has blanket permission as of now to make whatever they would like in this universe, or even inspired by this universe.

and i've been furious at my stupid fucking brother in law all week only to learn that just now he almost had a heart attack bc he was laying in bed only for a cat to straight up jump on him with no warning. They do not have a cat. A random cat pounced him while he was dozing in bed.
