i made a short post here referring to my own experiences and wanted to expand on it, you can reblog both of these posts btw. I am only writing this all down because the way some of you have spoken about chris and his decision very much bothers me. trust when i tell you i do not want to completely lay out my trauma on the internet for all of you to read, but if it makes one of you understand why this works, why it is important, then it will have been worth it to me.

When I was 12 my father was diagnosed with frontal temporal dementia. the adults in my family and his doctors decided that it was best for him to be moved to a a full time care facility. The next year, and after hearing, seeing, and understanding my father's condition and where it would go, I, at thirteen years old, made the decision to say goodbye to him, that I did not want to hear about what levels of deterioration he had reached. I wanted to remember him as he was when he remembered me, and all the adventures and fun things we did together.

I made that decision. I made it because it was easier than watching him deteriorate, forget who his sister, his brother, my brother, my mother, and me. And I knew that at twelve and thirteen. It was never a decision I ever thought I would have to make, it wasn't a decision I should've had to make.

Now, the important part, over the next few years my decision was questioned and ignored by the adults in my life and even my brother, some of the questioning I can understand now that I am older, but it should have never reached the level it did. My aunt and uncle would openly discuss his condition over dinner when he came to visit, and I would run away to the restaurant bathroom and cry my eyes out until my mom came to get me. I was forced into visiting him in his care home, which ended with it causing far more harm than good. Only then was my decision somewhat respected, it took me being retraumatized for it to be taken seriously.

Despite all of that, I do not regret that decision.

I can't know how I would be different if none of that happened. But at this point in my live, eleven years and some therapy later, I am fairly certain I would be less traumatized, carry less resentment and anger, if maybe my mom had spoken up at those dinners and made arrangements to get updates without me next to her trying to enjoy my pizza. Had I not had to see my own father forget my name and then have some sort of mini medical emergency. Had my brother heard me in a way only a sibling could.

So, yes, Christopher at thirteen made a indefinite and truly most likely temporary decision to remove himself from an environment where he doesn't fully trust his sole and primary caregiver. He knows his dad loves him, Eddie made that so clear. And it could really be 5 minutes, 5 days, 5 weeks, and so on and so forth until Christopher is ready to come home. And him knowing that Eddie respected his decision and loves him no matter what is what is going to make that time shorter. If he had walked out with his father begging him to stay, to forgive him before he was ready, the chances of him coming back would in my opinion would be far slimmer than the circumstances under which he did leave.

with that i leave you this, "yeah people go away. and it's sad. and it hurts. but you know, not everyone goes away forever. sometimes they come back. and as much as we miss them, that's how happy we are to see them again."

Suddenly felt compelled to say that if you're writing a fic set in Italy with Italian characters and have them take coffee this is the size of the "coffee mug" they are drinking from:

drinking one whole 5-poeple-moka alone is generally less weird than drinking "mud water". people would be concerned about your caffeine intake, not about the functionality of your taste buds.

okay, real answer is because it's the path of least resistance for both of them. marcus doesn't want to get super involved in her personal drama because he dislikes her and disagrees with her politics. he's also very aware of the fact that he needs to protect his apostate family (anders, bethany and warden amell. potentially a baby mage but i'm not completely sold on that) and doesn't want to cause controversy. he's also very aware of her situation and... what can she do? call the wedding off? it's the biggest event of the year. he knows it's literally beyond his control but he still wishes he could do something.

in a worse, deeper layer of himself, there's also this sick sense of... poetic justice? mary has made her bed and now she has to lie in it. she chose a divine who will actively hurt the mages, so finding out she is in fact a mage is funny. anders goes along with this despite it being upsetting because he has never had a full conversation with mary, but bethany really disagrees because she had ties to mary's mage sister in the kirkwall circle. matilda amell doesn't care because she's busy hooking up with bianca (another plotline.)

For me and my pilot, 19 December 1981 was the date of a memorable excursion in a Martin-Baker ejection seat following a split-second decision to eject. I was an F-14 RIO and we were landing on an aircraft carrier in the Indian Ocean when things went wrong. I was fairly new, but I realized we were in trouble, and when my pilot said “Eject! Eject!” I pulled the lower handle. It happened in the blink of an eye, and only later could I be philosophical about it, to think about leaving the familiar and comfortable cockpit for the unknown. Thanks to the Martin-Baker MK-GRU7A seat my pilot and I survived in excellent condition and have enjoyed 38 (and counting) more years of living, flying, families, and everything else. I am thankful for the skilled US Navy technicians who maintained our equipment and the people of Martin-Baker who provided the seat that saved my life.

Martin-Baker – Thank you for the rest of my life. On 20 March 1987 my F-14A ran away with me as an unwilling passenger. Fire in the environmental control system burned through the flight controls. The airplane started un-commanded pitch oscillations and the last nose down excursion made it clear that I had to eject. My ride in F-14 BuNo 161614 ended 15 seconds before the crash with a Martin-Baker ejection seat and a parachute descent. My wife Sweet Denyse thanks you too.

“It was a spring day in 1995 about 200 miles SW of Sicily. The USS Theodore Roosevelt was heading up to the Adriatic to enter the Bosnia conflict. As we expected combat, we needed to make sure as many jets as possible were up and ready so the past few days had been a maintenance blitz. We were conducting a post-maintenance check flight on our F-14 Tomcat, which the jet passed with flying colors.

After the flight we were heading back to the carrier, when suddenly the jet began bucking like a bronco – negative 2 Gs followed by 5 Gs, back and forth for about 1 minute, then it suddenly stopped. We couldn’t figure out what was wrong, but another aircraft joined up and noticed a mismatch in our horizontal stabilators. After two more events similar to the first, each time with the jet losing about 5000 feet, the jet suddenly pitched over into a negative 2 G dive and started rolling uncontrollably. I looked at the altimeter and it read 3000 feet so I pulled the handle. After the loud flash and bang, I found myself under the parachute, and looked down just in time to see the jet hit the water – what turned out to be just 4 seconds after we ejected. We were both safely under parachute, with only minor injuries but alive. We were plucked out of the water by helos from the carrier about 45 minutes later. –

Thanks to Martin-Baker and my Parachute Rigger, I am still alive, and by being able to “live to tell” about our story a major mechanical problem was found. All F-14 Tomcats were subsequently inspected and the same problem was found on dozens of other jets, so Martin-Baker not only saved my life but likely prevented many other aviators from (at best) joining the Tie Club themselves or at worst losing their lives. It was just a month later that a high school friend who heard I was deployed wrote me a letter…We’ve now been married 17 years with two wonderful children. Thank you Martin-Baker!!!

So whomst is Void Archives?

This is how Void Archives (VA) actually looks. And before you ask, yes, it is a semi-transparent golden cube. It's the 1st Divine Key - a piece of Previous Era technology, made using the Herrscher of Reason Core. It can recreate anything, as long as it understands the concept. In doing so, it can mimic the other Divine Keys as well. However, these mimicries are much weaker. Void Archives is an artificial intelligence and was intended to contain knowledge and information from the Previous Era from 50 000 years ago.

This is the "Library", a place that hosts the knowledge and where each book is a separate archive of information from the Previous Era. It can only be accessed via medium, as it's a virtual reality space, or if VA willingly invites someone's consciousness in. Which is another of its abilities - to allow someone to transfer their mind to another body or vessel.

This is also Void Archives during APHO (post-hi3) chapters in the game and Alien Space manga, after it stole appropriated Otto's Soulium avatar body, when the latter died. It customized the hairstyle and outfit. Aside from wearing a glove on the right hand, it also covered the face with a mask. But these modifications were temporary (reasons: spoiler, explained in manga).

Otto Apokalpse, the bishop of Schicksal in Houkai Gakuen 2 (or Guns Girl Z). And from where it all begun.

In APHO chapters, Welt easily recognized that the person in front of him was not Otto, even if VA attempted to pretend to be him.

And this is where real Void Archives with its opinion towards Otto comes out. Its' voice is loud and is saturated with unadulterated resentment.

In Alien Space manga, which is the preface to Star Rail, Void Archives and Welt travel to another universe, where they currently reside.

Where to? I will make Headcanon post 'bout what the danger cube is up to later and until hoyo will provide us with leaks or info what VA is doing, that would remain the canon to my blog.

Later in Star Rail companion quest, Welt has flashbacks from when VA abducts takes him on a new adventure (insert spoilers of APHO and Alien Space manga here), and also along with a voice line recognizes that Luocha is actually Otto, not Void Archives.

Void Archives may be in possession of a soulium avatar, crafted in the image of Otto, but ultimately they are not the same people. Void Archives exists since Previous Era for 50 000 years, and Otto (in HI3 universe) managed to hit 500 years thanks to VA powers and knowledge. Nor Void Archives is Luocha. If you see a man who looks like he never used a brush in his entire life - that is Void Archives. Luocha is Otto Apocalypse. And it was also directly pointed by Jing Yuan as well, who said that his real name is a mouthful.
