your Laila’s comet character quiz was actually so great? I love the way your questions were worded. They were so clear and descriptive that I was never confused as to what I they meant or what answer I should pick. A lot of uquizzes have questions like “pick a song” or “which photo are you”, which I just find confusing; am I supposed to pick based on preference, how well they represent me, or something else? but your questions were clear and I loved that!!! and there weren’t too many, and they all visibly had some sort of meaning that didn’t seem arbitrary in the slightest! goddd and the result section was so well-written too!! I got algernon and now I can’t wait to meet them because I already relate quite a bit. not one-to-one but a lot closer than most quizzes get to accurate!!! there isn’t a point to this I just thought your quiz was, like, remarkably well-made
thank you so much!!! ahghgg yhis sort of thing makes me happy to hear. i have this same problem with quizzes ive taken before too so, i wanted to try to remedy something while also using it as a chance for character study.
obviously you guys cant see it on your end, but theres actually no single answer thats only one character. for example - i saw someone say they thought laika wouldve picked the action figure, but thats not actually true! two characters who werent laika would pick the action figure.
i think part of writing a good character exploration AND quiz is realizing that peoples choices change if slight variations of our lives were to occurr. that someone who might turn left today couldve turned right if something different had happened. or sometimes they might just be interested in exploring another part of themself.
i guess in this way id encourage people to take the quiz more than once, because even a small change in answers will yield a different result. but thats because every laikas character overlaps at the corners, just like real people do. none of us are as different as we think, but we're not all the same either.

eunseok left the church six years ago. you remember when everyone in your congregation hated him for it. he left the city to find opportunities and to do something more with his life. you had heard rumors of a prestige college, but many thought it was untrue due to his lax nature. unfortunately leaving the small town was unofficially known as the gateway to losing your faith. because of this, many considered him a nonbeliever.
truthfully, no one knew what eunseok did for those six years. nobody bothered to ask his family if he still practiced religion, because that would’ve been the logical thing to do. he never was a big part of the church socially, so when he left he was like a ghost. when eunseok disappeared without a trace, everyone saw this as an opening to spread rumors. you knew eunseok personally, the two of the oldest kids in the congregation. you two would be together in line for serving food, overhearing two women talk about another one.
“do they ever get tired of talking behind eachothers backs?” you ladle food onto a child’s plate.
“when thats the only thing to do, you can never get tired of it.” eunseok wasn’t even looking at the two women. he smiled at the next person in line, giving them a cup of fruit.
“still though. sometimes the congregation is so contradictory with their teachings versus practices.” you say.
“it is what it is. people will do what they want. thinking too hard about people’s actions will just cause unneeded stress.” eunseok says before smiling to an old lady. she declines the fruit cup, continuing down the line.
after the last person went through the food line, you and eunseok walked together to the prayer area. you two had a routine, falling into silence as you stared at the miniature altar for christ. you don’t know what eunseok thought about, maybe it was about leaving. you were too caught up in looking at him. as the same lady who was gossiping walked past you she gave you a fake smile on her face. your head followed her all the way down the hallway until she disappeared into another you. you scoff and return your gaze to the altar.
you knew eunseok was right, but you could never let it go. you had joined the church like most kids did when their parents were involved in the church. you didn’t consider yourself to be a nonbeliever, but you found yourself standing for what the church was supposed to represent. you liked helping people, you liked community service, you liked the kindness and acceptance that came with being a churchgoer. as you grew older you say that the way religion was practiced versus in theory was completely different. in your teen years, you clung to eunseok. he felt the same you did, but closer to when he left he seemed to accept it. your complaints fell on his deaf ears, and eventually he was gone.
you knew that what people said about him never bothered eunseok. you wished you could say he liked being talked about. eunseok was something like a celebrity of the church before he left. he was tall and kind. that was enough for him to be adored by the elders of the congregation. you were ignored and not held nearly as high in regard compared to eunseok. you accredited this to you constantly challenging the elders and calling out when they did something outdated. what bothered you was how unbothered he was when it came to himself.
when eunseok left, he left without saying a word. it would’ve been so easy to pass a note along to the pastor, or to say something during group. instead, he just left. so you had to deal with overhearing eunseok be the subject of gossip.
he left because he lost faith.
i heard he left town because he got some slut from his school pregnant.
he left to go to a city filled with drugs and alcohol.
he never learned hymns. he slept half the time.
may god guide that poor boys soul.
for six years you heard things you would be kicked out of church for repeating. you spent time defending the rumors at first. you would say the truth under your breath or tell the older women to mind their business with a smile on your face. you thought that you were invincible because you were equipped with the truth. you wielded the truth like a sword, trying to fight away rumors of someone you considered a friend. you learned the valuable lesson that the truth doesn’t overshadow the masses. you were protecting eunseok a little too fiercely, and ended up backing off when the rumors began to involve you.
she’s mad because she wanted eunseok to take her with him.
she should focus on finding a husband within the church instead of protecting one that has left it.
after becoming even more ostracized you started to adopt the same attitude eunseok had. you let the words wash off of you like rain. eunseok was lucky he wasn’t there for the fallout. you had become withdrawn and bitter towards everyone in the church. you would sit in front of the statue of christ, looking up at his pitiful outstretched hands. you don’t know how someone could be so merciful, so understanding. you were filled with unbridled rage looking up at his statue. that was the final time you bowed to the altar. you got up and dusted off your knees. you found this to be symbolic, brushing off what little devotion you had left to such a weak man.
six years later, you were still involved. you don’t know why you stayed. you often compared your relationship with the church as a friend you hated but couldn’t let go of—it weighed down on you but random moments of happiness made you stay. being in the building made you lethargic and looking at the whispering ladies made you sick. you didn’t see them as believers, you saw them as aimless people looking for something to poor endless praise upon. you saw them as less than nonbelievers.
despite your disdain for the church, you had more responsibilities than you did when you were in high school. the church often interfered with your career and part time job, but you also used it as an excuse. who was going to deny you the right to leave work early so you could worship? who would give you a penalty on an assignment that you missed due to you being needed at the church? clerical responsibilities were left in your hands. this was the effect of people leaving the flock too close together. you stopped caring why people left, or even learning people’s names in general. after some time, you would look around in the prayer halls or the lines at confessionals and you wouldn’t recognize a single face. you adopted the mindset that eventually, everyone would leave the congregation. you were just waiting your turn. you walked around the halls of the church and whispers followed you everywhere. they called you a nonbeliever, embodiment of an evil demon sent to destroy the church. you were blamed for people leaving, claiming that you were pushing people away from the path of righteousness. you found this ironic because your work for the church behind the scenes was one of the few things keeping it afloat.
maybe that’s another reason you stayed. as much as you hated those four walls you couldn’t stand to see them be torn down. eunseok was the same way.
you were assigning youth pastors to their groups when you heard his name for the first time in six years.
“song eunseok? why does that name sound so familiar?” mark said. instantly you looked up from the paper to eavesdrop on his conversation.
“song eunseok?” you repeated. mark and yeri look at you. you go back to looking at your schedule, gripping your pen a little tighter.
“yeah, do you know him?” mark says scratching his head.
“he used to attend the church when i was the same age as you guys.” you said. you remember the first time you met eunseok, thanking god for sending you someone who understood you. you almost chuckle looking at the paper recalling memories. if only you had known then what you knew now, you would’ve rebuked eunseok the moment you saw him.
“no freaking way, he went here?” yeri says, hitting marks shoulder.
“was he a youth pastor like us?” mark visibly gets excited as well.
you completely look away from your schedule now. how would these two know about eunseok? were there rumors floating around about him again?
“no, but he did help out with the church. why?” you say, trying to remain as neutral as possible.
“because he’s like a government official now” mark said. yeri looked at him and they both laughed, surprised you didn’t know who he was.
“what?” you abandon all efforts of sounding neutral.
“yeah look!” yeri shows you her phone.
you wish you could say you remained calm. your eyes nearly popped out of your head when you saw the headline. eunseok had made it out of your small town to a much bigger one, a place where he was included in making laws. you saw the article commend him for coming from nothing to graduating from a prestigious school and pursuing law. many people thought he was a revolutionary, demanding for progressively legislature despite only recently joining the board.
“oh my god.” you say.
“i don’t think you can say that.” mark said. the pair giggled again, but you were too caught up in looking at eunseok. he looked so different from the last time you saw him, but still the same. that was your eunseok. the one who giggled with you during confessionals. eunseok who stole extra crackers from communion because he could. the one who left you.
“i can’t believe it.” you say. the schedule has been completely forgotten. the iron resolve you had at church was broken in an instant. you could tell yeri and mark were shocked to see you show so much emotion.
“you must have been pretty close with him.” yeri says, grabbing back her phone.
“we were friends. like you two are.” you pull yourself out of your shocked state, trying to put on the same cold demeanor. you turn back to the group assignment, but every name you read looks like his.
“well you will probably be happy to hear that he’s coming to the church during tonight’s service,” mark said. he looked over your shoulder “are the schedules done yet?”
“what?” you can’t hold back the shock in your voice. your two youth group leaders laugh at your expense.
“the pastor is pretty hush hush about it. but i heard a rumor he’s coming to give a speech about donating something to the church.” yeri says.
mark grabs the group assignments off your desk and hands one to yeri. yeri audibly groans once she sees who she is assigned to. the pair leave quickly after getting their assignments, leaving you alone to your thoughts. eunseok had left the church for reasons unknown. you thought he would come back, the way poor sinners came back crawling in the rain, shaking their metal cup begging for an ounce of forgiveness. now he was coming back as someone who people would put on the altar next to god himself. did he even still pray? did he still remember the hymns that were drilled into their minds as kids? or did he truly forget it all to follow a life of fame and fortune? that wasn’t a lifestyle fit for a man of god.
you debate on leaving then and there. night service doesn’t start for another hour, and technically your duties for the day are done. you could slip out through any exit, and not come back until the next time you’re needed. eunseok would be long gone, and you could just hear about the rumors spread about his visit for the next six years. the thought of being in the same room as him made you sick, the same sick you felt seeing the gossiping sinners of the church stick their noses up at you.
with a power beyond your own, you feel yourself get up from your desk. you walk through the mostly empty offices, and head down the stairs. you try to be quiet, to not let the floorboards tell you their age underneath your feet. you can hear the low murmurs of men behind doors talking about things that have to be whispered. you’re sure they’re talking about the allocation of what you assume to be the heavy donation they’ll be receiving tonight. you can’t believe eunseok is becoming the very thing you hated. unfair donations, things that would be better off at any other organization instead being funneled into a failing church. it made you feel like a kid again, spying on the grownups trying to stay hidden. the only difference was that your previous partner in crime was the one you were hiding from.
you looked through the crack in the door and saw him. eunseok was wearing a suit not so different from what you remember him wearing six years ago. but he was different now, so different from the boy you grew up with. this eunseok had a more defined jawline, the baby fat from his cheeks was completely gone. he had a different hairstyle now too, one that made him look more mature. this eunseok towered over the men he spoke with. there was an aura now surrounding him now. he was already confident when you two had met, but now there was another layer to it. more depth. his boyish charm had turned into charisma of a handsome young man. you watched as he stood and listened to the men in robes bicker. so much had changed about eunseok but he still remained disinterested in anything pertaining to church.
you didn’t see eunseok speak until they brought up the lunch program.
“my donation is for the lunch program. i want all the funds to dedicated to the plan i emailed you before. you accepted the donation under the promise that the funds would be allocated there.” eunseok said. you figured the man with the briefcase and nice suit beside him was his lawyer. you leaned closer to the door, trying to gather everything.
apparently you were wrong about the donation. eunseok had plans to help the church expand who the lunch program would reach. instead of just a line inside the church, he wanted several stations in town near impoverished areas. he wanted to also expand the date and hours. you watched him explain his plan with an even head, but his hand flexing at his side told you he was getting frustrated.
when the conversation was over you had to quickly run away, flexing your feet so your presence wouldn’t be known. you don’t know how long you had stood there, but the night service was starting. you got caught in the flow of the crowd into the room that was much more packed than usual. mark and yeri left you a seat. you squeezed into the seat and picked at the hand fan that was passed around the room.
you were more nervous than you wanted to admit. you fidgeted and looked around for most of the service, waiting for eunseok to come out. you wished it would be over, each time the congregation stood your restless legs yelled at you to run.
when eunseok came out you stood still. mark had to nearly pull you down to sit after the hymn.
the pastor was speaking, but you couldn’t listen. all you could see was eunseok stand off to the side, hands in front of him as he listened. you wondered if he even remembered you, how surprised he would be that you were still here at the church you complained about everyday to him. then you thought about if he would even recognize you in the crowd of churchgoers. alot can happen in six years and you don’t doubt that eunseok has met his fair share of people. you think your face has blended into the mass of people sitting in the pews. you see his eyes look over the crowd, coming closer and closer to you. you prepare yourself to be filled with more disdain, more pain when he eventually looks over you.
when he sees you in the crowd, his eyes widen. you haven’t taken your eyes off him the whole time, wide and confused like he’s a mirage standing on the stage. you think he must have you confused, that he just paused in the crowd. his mouth opens in shock, the same shock you had seeing his name in the headlines.
“i think he recognizes you.” mark says, looking between you and eunseok.
you shush mark as the preacher continues to speak.
“so thank you to song eunseok, previous member of our parish for the generous donation.” the pastor says.
all around you people stood and clapped. you were amazed, seeing people that had spread rumors about eunseok cheer and clap for him now. as he bowed, people only clapped louder. the ones that called him stupid praised him for speaking to elegantly. when he thanked god, the ones that said he was a nonbeliever cheered the loudest. when eunseok got up from his bow, he kept his eye contact with you. it was a gaze of someone all knowing. he looked at you like he was trying to convey that it was all for show. eunseok was alot of things, and an entertainer was one of them. he was fit for the life of worship, a standing ovation suited him well. it made you sick how easily praise fell upon him, when you had worked so hard for this church just to be whispered about all day.
it was fanfare and fireworks for the next thirty minutes, everyone in the congregation practically tripping over themselves to get a picture with eunseok. handing him babies to kiss, asking for him to consider legislature that would benefit him. you noticed photographers trying their best to remain inconspicuous as they took photos. occasionally he would look to you and you had to look away. you wanted to avoid him all night, you don’t even know why you stayed. yeri and mark eventually made their way to him too, smiling in their group photo. you wanted to run away when you saw eunseok following behind mark and yeri.
“eunseok says he’s joining us for youth group tonight.” yeri says smiling.
when youth group split up you found yourself being short on handouts. eunseok’s appearance at the church brought in an influx of people, a number the church hasn’t seen in a long time. you were short on prayer pamphlets and eunseok volunteered to help you.
you tried to not be self conscious of the man behind you. you had walked through the church a million times before, but you felt yourself bump into walls you knew were there and turn the handles on locked doors. it was embarrassing having him follow you up the old and creaky outdated staircase. everything about you now felt so archaic. eunseok represented a time that was advanced past the chipping paint on the walls and the frayed robes the priests wore. it made your stomach churn thinking about how he didn’t remember where he came from. everywhere you turned there were people wanting a photo. you watched eunseok’s demeanor completely change to turn on some sort of charm. you didn’t say a word until you opened up your old desktop, printing out copies of papers from the dusty white printer.
“i didn’t expect to see you here.” eunseok said. you ignored him, only focusing on the sound of the old printer doing its best. you wish you could say you hated giving him the cold shoulder. being the one to deny him praise or acknowledgment felt like the justice you had been denied for the past six years.
“are you still mad at me? for leaving?” eunseok said. he moved from the door, coming to stand near your desk.
“i don’t care. you did what you did with your life eunseok.” you refuse to look at him as you speak.
you can hear his feet tap on the ground. being so cold is against your religious practices but you didn’t mind hell if it meant denying him heaven. you imagine someone like the eunseok that stood before you reveled in the attention good or bad. without any attention you think he would shrivel up like a plant without sun.
“i wanted to see you. but i couldn’t leave.” eunseok is standing beside you now. he crouches, look up at you trying to see your eyes. you focus your eyes so hard on the desktop that the typed words start to become blurry.
when he gets on his knees in front of you then look at him. your eyes are wide and shocked as he looks to you with genuine sadness. you are shocked to see eunseok look so lost. he has always been so sure of himself. the same person that projected confidence onstage was groveling at your feet.
“i know what you think of me.” he whispered.
the assumption of knowing you makes you bristle. if he knew you he would’ve never left you alone all those years ago.
“you don’t know anything.” you feel your years of being misunderstood bubble up to the surface. you spitting words quietly at eunseok is the only thing that keeps the anger at bay.
“i don’t know anything.” eunseok agrees with you. seeing him so easily give up makes you instantly regret your rage. your first instinct is to forgive him, to say sorry for being so cold. but then you think about the dust you brushed off your knee when you got up from the altar. you let out a sigh. nothing feels right anymore.
“you could’ve atleast called.” you say quietly.
“they wouldn’t let us have phones. i only recently got mine back.” eunseok says. he shuffles even closer to you, placing a kiss on your clothed knee. “the first thing i did with the money i’ve earned was to try and pay you back. to show you how sorry i am.”
having someone where eunseok was at in life look to you for forgiveness made you confused. after years of being denied autonomy, only becoming an extension of something else. when eunseok was here, you were an extension of him. when he left you became an extension of church, maybe even of god himself. but now you had eunseok kneel before you and talk to you as your own person. how did he not forget about you after all of that time. why did he rememberyou to the point that he made a donation to your church to apologize. you use your hand to tilt eunseok’s chin up. he finds your eyes, placing a hand over yours. you lean over to his shoulder.
“you’re pretty loved now. people treat you like a god. like you can change the world.” you say. eunseok nods his head. he agree with anything you said to him.
you looked down at eunseok, on his knees kissing your legs. he had lifted up your dress to get more access to your skin. after you get up from the chair you stand before eunseok. you think about the statue that hung above the altar the last timed you prayed. even though it’s been years since you looked to god for answers, you will never forget the desperation that rolled off of you in waves. it’s the same desperation that filled the room, the same desperation that filled eunseoks’ eyes. you felt like god now, extending a forgiving olive branch to someone who wronged you.
eunseok looks up to you from your feet. he had always been so much taller than you. now it seems like he had shrunk himself under your gaze.
“but whose altar do you bow to, eunseok? is it still gods’?” you ask.
eunseok looks at you deep in the eyes. it’s still the same eyes that left you alone all that time ago, the same eyes you thought about in the confines of your bed.
“i bow to his altar only to pray for your forgiveness. i feel devotion for you and you alone.” eunseok says.
“people call you a nonbeliever. is that true?” you ask.
“i believe in you. isn’t that enough?” eunseok says with a solemn expression on his face. he goes back to kissing your body. he lifts your dress higher and higher, exposing even more skin. he kisses up to your knee, lifting more of your dress. he looks to you one final time before you pinch the fabric of your dress. you lightly pull up your hands, exposing your mid thigh. he purposely puts the end of your dress in the palm of your hands, letting you control how much of your skin he gets to kiss.
he sucks and kisses on the exposed skin, working from your right calf up. when he gets to the highest part of your exposed body he works his way down the other leg. you stand in front of the powerful man. the same lips that will eventually address a nation kiss you timidly, like you are going to run away. the same hands that will write legislature pull you close. you slowly lean back until you’re sitting on the edge of your computer desk. you bring a leg up to prop it on the chair. eunseok looks to you as you bring the fabric of your dress to rest underneath your chin.
“i want to worship you,” eunseok looks up from a kiss placed on your thigh. his fingers enclose on the waistband of your panties. he looks to you for approval, for permission to go further. “i want to show you how regretful i am. how apologetic i feel.”
“then do it.” you say.
without missing a beat, eunseok pulls your panties down your legs. he’s delicate with the way he removes them, lifting you legs so you don’t have to do any of the work. eunseok crumbles the pair into his pants pocket. you don’t ask for it back, the image of him treating your undergarmets like a rosary, gripped in his hand while he tries to remember what gods touch felt like. he put large hand on the back of your thighs and lifts. you have a leg over his shoulder and the other still is in the chair. you lean back on your desk. you think about your body weight straining the old oak. if it breaks, you will just ask your loyal devotee to buy you a new one.
eunseok doesn’t take his eyes off of you, looking for visual cues on what to do next. he places sweet kisses on the area surrounding your heat. you lift your hips he brings an arm from your thigh to rest on your stomach, holding you in place. he doesn’t dare to tell you what to do, just hoping you will listen to his physical pleas for control.
he places a single kiss on your core. you ball the end of your dress and put it inside of your mouth to try and muffle any sounds you may make. eunseok goes back to placing kisses on your thigh. he grabs your hand and places it on his head. you immediately use your hand to hold his soft brown hair. eunseok kisses your heat. he keeps his lips there, continuing to give you chaste kisses. you try to keep your composure but fail when his tongue comes from between his lips. he takes a long stripe and you can feel his tongue inside of you. you moan into the fabric of your dress and bring him closer with your leg behind his back. you are acting on your own volition, using your heels and hand to bring him even closer to your core. with your spare hand you grab eunseok’s hand and squeeze. you feel an absence and look down at eunseok between your legs. he has slick covering his mouth as he looks at you wide eyed.
“can i ask for forgiveness?” eunseok smiles before placing a sweet kiss to your thigh.
“ask god.” your chest heaves with each word. you don’t know when you lost your breath, but each words comes out in rushed huffs.
“i am.” eunseok says before diving back in between your legs.
he’s more aggressive with you this time around. he uses the hand that was holding your stomach down to spread your folds. you keep looking at eunseok, and he pulls back to look you in the eyes again. he spits on your clit and you throw your head back in ecstasy. how can something so filthy feel so exhilarating. you can’t stop thinking about how this is a sin you would die on the cross for. eunseok puts his middle finger inside of you and sucks on your clit. you arch more and more into his mouth, holding his hair tightly. your muffled sounds get higher and higher as eunseok becomes more intense. you close your thighs around him but he doesn’t pull away. his tongue is coated in forgiveness as he bows into your altar. he takes everything, sucking and licking you until you come down from the heaven eunseok took you too.
mindlessly you pull eunseok up to you. he hesitates at first but obliges, letting you gather him into your arms. against your knee, you can feel his hardened length. you think about how you’re ignoring your duties as the one keeping your oratory going. you consider yourself to be a selfish god as you reach for the belt of eunseoks’ slacks.
his hands consume yours. you are forced to look up to him now, as he stands taller than your perch on the desk. his eyes are wide and show you conflicting emotions. he shouldn’t be scared to do what he wants in your home. you decide that you make the rules as you continue to undo his belt.
“you have my forgiveness and maybe a little more than that,” you say. eunseok’s eyes become hooded and his expression becomes hungry. “but now i need you to fuck me like you’re making up for lost time.”
eunseok lets you undo his belt. the unbuckling sound gives his desperation its wings as he goes back to your dress. he unzips the back of the dress and pulls it over your shoulders. it falls forward and you stay in your white lacy bra. you both decide you don’t have enough time to completely abandon your clothing. eunseok takes the lead on undressing himself, unzipping his pants and letting them fall to the ground. he comes back to you and rubs his clothed length against your knee. you moan and tilt your head to see him get lost in the pleasure. you bite your lip looking at him. you can feel him pulsing against you as he lets his head lean back. he’s sighing in relief and you wonder if things stress him out now, if he feels pressure to do well as a politician. you decide wordlessly to take on all his stress and hardship like a good god does. you reach for his briefs and unclothe him. eunseoks’ hard member bobs up and down before pointing straight towards you. it’s angry and red, the tip leaking with precum. eunseok moans from the cold air hitting him. you never took him as the sensitive type.
you reach for him and stroke him gently. eunseok has his eyes closed but finds your shoulder easily, holding onto you to ground himself. his head retreated into your neck as you gently jerked him off. he says something that sounds like a confession into your ear, talking about how he’s never felt this good in his life. how he has only thought about you in moments like these, no matter the circumstance.
“devotion looks pretty on you eunseok.” you whisper into his ear. you guide him to your entrance and eunseok looks between your bodies to see where you two meet.
eunseok kisses your neck as he slowly sinks into you. you tremble and suddenly six years of complicated feelings becomes incredibly simple. you lift you leg that was hanging over the desk to rest on the edge. this angle changes something in eunseok. he pulls away from the crook in your neck and places a confident hand on your bent knee. he doesn’t break eye contact as he pulls all the way out. eunseok’s gaze doesn’t falter when he puts it back in with a hard and fast thrust, one that makes everything on your desk shift. eunseok does it a second time and for a split second your resolve breaks. you only have a little bit of time to compose yourself when eunseok pulls out all the way again. when eunseok does it for the third time you falter, eyebrows contorting in pleasure. eunseok smiles.
“you feel that?” eunseok says.
before you can respond. he changes the pace after seeing you falter. he hips work in a steadfast motion. you can hear things shift out of place and fall off your desk. the floorboard creak from the commotion and your boobs jump in your bra. you have to lean forward and grab eunseok for stability. he hooks his arms underneath your legs pulling you closer to him. the new angle has you whimpering and you can see eunseok’s dress shirt becoming wrinkled under your grip. your whimpers become high pitched and whiny when you hear eunseok’s grunts from above you. everything feels so surreal you forget that you truly are human. you can’t make the pleasure last forever, you must go through the same ups and downs as the rest of humanity. you grip onto eunseok harder and bring him down so you can kiss him. you want to bask in whatever high you are about to feel so you can remember it next time you bow at the altar. eunseok pulls away and quickly pushes things off the desk. he lays you down and puts your ankles behind his head, placing an arm over your thighs to keep your legs straight. this angle has you feeling him drag against your walls and you can feel him hitting a spot deep inside of you. this position makes it easier for eunseok to flick your clit. you shake around him and you can hear the slapping of your skin against his.
“i’m a saint. i want my god to cum first.” eunseok says smiling.
you can barely breathe as the orgasm rakes through your body. you put a hand on his arm that holds your legs and he abandons holding your legs to grip your hand. your legs become loose and eunseok bends them to kiss your face. you can barely focus on kissing him back, too busy trying to make gain control of your senses. everything is flooded with white and gold and sky blue. eunseok becomes rushed and sloppy making your pulsing erratic. you a new wave of pleasure hits you as eunseok throbs inside of you. you can feel years of lost time fill you to the brim and he slumps against you. things on your desk finally still and you breathe out heavily, finally regaining your composure. you can feel eunseok slide out of you and you let your legs dangle over the edge of the desk.
when he settles on your chest you pet his hair, trying to smooth out the strands that stick out in random places. he listens to your heartbeat, you listen to his deep breaths.
it feels like ages before you move from underneath eunseok. you had forgotten how big he is and how comforting it always was being in close proximity to him. eunseok gets off of you and guides you off the desk. you pull your dress back over your bra and eunseok puts on his clothes. as you grab papers from the printer eunseok brushes out your dress to help you look put together again. you return the favor, smoothing down his disheveled hair. you hand him his belt and you fix his crooked vote pin that resides on his lapel. you both do this in silence, working in collaboration to hide your secret church service.
as you fix his cuffs, you can feel his burning gaze. you don’t know why now you feel nervous.
“do you still remember the secret exit we’d take when sneaking out of youth group?” eunseok asks. when you finish with his cuffs you look at him and smile.
“yes. do you?” you ask.
he smile and nods.
“how could i forget?”

heres something interesting i noticed about the ruined designs! each ruined animatronic designs of the original evil 3 of SB all have parts of their design that kinda recreate something recognizeable from their original looks.
Tumblr media
chica has a trash bag in her middle to make up for the broken space so it appears she still has her light pink dark pink leotard look. she also has orange/yellow melted cheese on her mouth to represent her beak. the cheese also fills in the gaps with chicas torso to help aid the complete leotard look i mentioned earlier
Tumblr media
roxy has a lot of attention brought to her green strand because it stands out and is recognizeable as roxy. she also has red wiring on her arm to make up for her lack of shoulder pad, and red wiring on the left side of her torso to create the illusion of her shirt, and on top of that the broken plastic on her torso piece resembles the star pattern on her shirt. her pelvis is also singed from the fire in SB and is red to resemble her clothes
Tumblr media
monty is the most far gone from his original personality in his design. the fact that hes only half of an animatronic is enough but also they brought attenton to his mowhawk because its blaringly monty. they also made some parts of hid endoskeleton a lighter rusty color to resemble his underbelly color
my point after all of this is comparing all of these design decisions to ruined Freddy
Tumblr media
with this design, they removed the two most recognizeable things about freddy: his lightning bolt and his face. his head is completely gone, which is a big deal, and the blue lightling bolt is almost completely ripped off.
they chose to stick with fun FNAF 4 refs with ruined freddy with the lack of a head and stomach mouth, and i think that its genius. the callbacks are cool and all, but i think the fact that they removed what makes Freddy look like himself from this design really hammers in how its NOT freddy. our freddy is canonically somewhere else outside with Gregory and Vanessa. this Freddy is only a shell of ours and it shows with how unrecognizeable it is.
with the others, they designed them so you can still see that even after all this damage theyre STILL themselves. but sith Freddy, they remove everything recognizeable he had before, because it ISNT him.
youre not supposed to see him as same old freddy and they removed what makes him himself from this design and on top of that, they gave us cool early fnaf references and also made the one safe place for Gregory in SB super dangerous looking. i just think SW are geniuses thats all

Niffty Redesign! (3/7)
Holy shit was not expecting to finish in the same day much less in like… under 4 hours??? IDK IM HAPPY WITH HER THOUGH!!!!
My biggest inspiration this time was lovebugs and specifically this LPS lovebug
Tumblr media
Yes im colour picking Niffty from a littlest pet shop. Who is gonna stop me? Hasbro? They don’t even own LPS anymore!
Im making Niffty a bit tanner because while I see it a lot in other fandoms, I don’t ever see tan asian people in the Hazbin fandom, tbh this place seems like its allergic to melanin in general. There’s also a lot of stigmatisation around POC women in Hazbin like I’ve mentioned before. I plan on having Niffty deal with a decent chunk of stuff later on, a lot of it relating to obessions and romance and learning how to manage feelings like that and keep relationships with other people.
I wanted her socks to be cute but also held up by a garter belt so you can gather she’s got something going on. People seem to stray away from the topic of Niffty and sex or romance because they see her as a child or have infantalised her in some way. Yes ik I talk about this all the time but like GOD it pisses me off.
Her maid dress is actually a much darker shade of hot pink to the point its not really hot pink anymore but it is I promise
Tumblr media
Niffty’s main sins are lust, wrath, and envy, seeing as she is a lovebug and also her current backstory is killing a lover out of jealousy. The redder pink parts are supposed to be a mix of lust and wrath so I hope that comes across well?
The same thing can be said about her clothes and all that. With her dress and the reddish hearts it’s supposed to be like “in one sin there’s another” but idk how well I pulled it off. The stitched up heart is also supposed to represent her hopeful/eventually redemption. I’d like to give Niffty more character than just “crazy small lady” so I’ll be trying to balance being somewhat like that with also being a bit sensible. I think it definitely could be done but I have doubts Viv will do much with it.
It really sucks that the POC characters and especially women they just get reduced to one or two traits and then thats it. Viv already is terrible at writing women and I think writing Niffty for her is just boring because, again, she cannot write women. 90% of this rewrite is me saving the women/hj
There will be more indepth Niffty content from me eventually, as of now this is my backbone for her design and overall story. Btw I think her rubber gloves are cute but make really annoying squeaking sounds 24/7. No idea if I’ll pull off another fast design like this, but we shall see!🐐

Is it a coincidence that both Rick AND Beth abandoned morty for summer? Like father like daughter? And isn’t it interesting that in this universe she doesn’t regret not aborting summer? They way rick hugs summer back in the gotron episode. But he never hugs morty back until fear no mort, but even that has hesitation. He said summer reminds him of Diane. Does Beth think that too? would rick abandon morty for Diane if given the chance— morty clear thinks so from his pov in the hole, but the question is, would Beth give up morty and summer to see her mother? I really want to dissect why everyone in the family dislikes morty.
Jerry calls morty stupid multiple times, and always yells at him for not trying hard enough. I see this as projection, personally. Jerry projects his own insecurities onto his son because he cant be the Only one like this. Morty even says he’s just like his dad, when someone asks “is everyone in your family an idiot?” And morty says “well for sure me and my dad are” in the Pluto episode.
Rick dislikes morty early on because he is supposed to. He knows thats how Ricks are supposed to treat morty, but we clearly see that rick cares the most, especially in Close Encounters of the Rick Kind, where he cries watching memories of morty. Evil rick says that no rick cares about their morty, and from then on we see rick continuously overcompensate with insults towards morty. However, we see that rick truly cares in multiple episodes, to name a few; Meseeks and Destroy, Get Schwifty, Look who’s Purging Now, Rest and Ricklaxation. These are all episodes prior to season five, where rick realizes he is a bad partner and leaves. Something interesting is that in GoTron, Rick only abandons Morty when his ideas are not being backed, and are instead being backed by summer, who he says reminds him of Diane (in fear no mort). It’s interesting because we can assume that rick is looking for comfort and acceptance from Diane, and the closest person he can get it from is Summer. He also values summer in this episode because she has never really stood up to Rick on adventures, something Rick dislikes about Morty.
It’s also interesting to add to the mix that his Morty is Morty Prime, the grandson of the man who killed his family. Rick had no problem leaving the rest of the Prime dimension behind, but on some level i think he knew that he needed Morty Prime (before he had even really gotten attached). Rick values the one thing he has against Prime, but he knows that Prime is in Morty’s blood, and I think every time Morty stands up to Rick he sees a small flash of Prime in the kid’s personality, and it scares him to death. It’s a juxtaposition between one grandchild representing his dead wife, and the other representing his mortal enemy.
Finally, I want to talk about why Beth seems to dislike Morty so much, only really showing she cares when he’s in distress—and when she’s right. Beth obviously seeks Rick’s approval, and because of that she has a lot of the same traits. Again, Morty stands up to her, (i forget what the episode is called) but when Summer is turned giant, Morty tells Beth that she is just as arrogant and reckless as Rick, and that being like him isn’t going to make him like her more. Beth wants attention more than anything, and when she and Jerry are going through the divorce in season two, Summer immediately chooses her mother, refusing to talk to Jerry at all. Morty, however, talks to both of his parents. Beth values loyalty and trust over everything, and her abandonment issues are obvious when she appreciates people who stay more. In the Prime dimension, Beth Prime tells Jerry, “a real man stands by his woman,” and in the post credits scene they have this exchange:
Jerry: do you ever wonder what happened to rick and morty?
Beth: sometimes, but i hate to admit that now that they’re gone, im finally happy.
Beth knows that Rick would always abandon her, and on some level i think she believes that morty is betraying her by putting trust in rick, among her disappointment in a lot of Mortys actions in school and socially. This episode really shows that she values Jerry and Summer above Rick and Morty, because Jerry and Summer would always stay.
Beth and Summer both know that Beth had almost aborted Summer, and Beth wants to prove that she’s not like her father; that she wont suddenly abandon or betray her daughter. Choosing Summer over Morty in Morty’s Mind Blowers is Beth’s way of showing her devotion and loyalty to her daughter, saying that she wouldn’t leave. She’s better than Rick. Again, in the GoTron episode, Beth is willing to leave morty behind because she trusts Jerry, summer, and Rick more, because she knows they could leave, and she needs them to stay with her, because they have shown that they’ll stay with her. the only time Beth truly comforts and shows affection to Morty is in the Planetina episode, where she consoles him after the break up. In some way, this reminds me of something Rick would do, and has done. She and Rick had both at one point manipulated a loved ones relationship for their own benefit, or simply to hurt someone else. Rick sabotaged Beth and Jerry’s marriage multiple times, and Beth (even though she was right bc planetina was lowkey weird as hell) sabotaged Morty’s relationship—actually his happiness, and the first time he had felt valued—because she needed to feel valued more, the same way rick wanted to be valued over Jerry.
Idk if this makes sense im just kind of spitballing here but . I think everyone in the family has a distinct reason for disliking and excluding morty, and while they have their moments, i don’t really think they matter compared to the sheer amount of disrespect morty gets. I didn’t put summer here because they both have their own problems, and for the most part they value each other the same amount because they both want to break the cycle their family is stuck in.
If u read all of this thank u :) lmk what u think

I don't do tarot readings a lot so I'm not well versed in them. I'd love 2 hear meanings 👀
okok obv tarot has been around a long time and everyone interprets them their own way but this is like. a general reading
so for tubbo's past the magician represents willpowers, self-empowerment, and creative passion which. i dont need to explain how that works thats a pretty accurate read. for present the ten of cups is supposed to mean a being in a time of happiness or having cause to celebrate. town of fobo maybe??? for future reversed queen of pentacles could mean being possessive or manipulative. it could also mean poverty since the upright queen of pentacles relates to wealth. its fobover?
for pac's past judgement is pretty much what it sounds like. it means consequences of the past, change, renewal, etc. makes sense for pac i would say (specifically here im thinking of consequences of the past relating to cell/cellbit and fuga impossível, but a lot of things could fit here). for present death also means pretty much exactly what it sounds like, representing ending an era, change, transformation, and serving as a reminder to work on moving on from unhealthy attachments. lots of change themes w pac in these cards lol. for future reversed six of swords means feeling trapped or overwhelmed, or feeling like youre making little to no progress. maybe a failure in the change from the earlier cards?
for fit's past reversed ten of pentacles can be summed up to holy shit my financial situation is a disaster. i mean. 2b2ts probably not the wealthiest of places. for present the king of wands is meant to be like. your classic hero. a big part of it is confidence in being a leader. idrk what to say here but it makes sense i think. for future the seven of wands it. the basic card design is literally somebody standing on a hill fighting off somebody below him. 3/12/24 followup stream enough said.
bagi's read is really interesting to me just cus i dont think ive ever done a read and gotten all one suit before??? anyways for past the five of swords suggests conflict and all the negative emotions typically associated with that. bagi and cellbits rocky relationship maybe ??? or conflict with the feds following empanadas death ??? for present the page of swords represents curiosity, alertness, and inspiration which makes sense with her being a detective and all. for future the reversed two of swords means arriving at a stalement and having difficulty choosing between things. bagi might be having some big decisions coming up shes not prepared for

@sonic-oc-showdown
well, i said that i'd make a post breaking down stings design if he made it to round 2 and so! this is it! this is that post
without further ado, let's talk about how i designed my boy!
warnings for (drawn) close-up images of scorpions:
Tumblr media
let's start off with his head!
Tumblr media
the vast majority of sting's head comes from scorpion anatomy! his eyebrows are based off of a pair of a scorpion's walking legs. scorpions have 4 pairs of walking legs which are attached to the head/thorax. i can't represent all 4 pairs but i could at least represent 1, hence why his eyebrows are Huge and stick off of his head
the pair of darker red tubes that go from behind his eyebrows to the back of his head, those are meant to be pedipalps! pedipalps are actually part of a scorpion's mouth, but for sonic character design purposes i used it to resemble hair. as for the actual pincers, thats what the two things on the back of his head are. if you were to translate it to hair, it'd be like a tight, messy bun
the other part of a scorpion's mouth are the chelicerae! his mouth originally took more inspiration from how a scorpion's mouth is supposed to look, but due to how difficult it was to consistently draw + emote in general, this was changed to be more beak-like (using mimic for reference). his "tusks" are still reminiscent of the tip of the chelicerae, only they turn up to help his mouth look more distinct!
Tumblr media
as for the 2 pairs of dot markings on his head, those are meant to represent eyes! scorpions have at least 6 eyes, 12 at most. the 2 pairs of markings are meant to give the impression that sting has 6 eyes!
Tumblr media
next up is his clothes! since sting specializes in close-combat fighting, he doesn't really wear loose clothes as he doesn't want to risk tripping over himself or getting caught on anything. that's why he wears a simple torn tank top and some pants
his belt is fashioned after the segments on a scorpion's abdomen! thats why there's all those lines on it
his shoes, the golden edge of his shoes with the two little protrusions, those are meant to resemble a scorpion's paws!
Tumblr media
as for sting's tail, the reason why it's so thick is because he is a highly venomous scorpion! it's also why the pincers on his head are so small: scorpions with thick tails and small pincers are Very Venomous while scorpions with thin tails and big pincers are mostly harmless! i went for a more spherical shape with his tail because i thought it looked cool. he originally didn't have a set number of segments but ultimately i landed on 6, which is the same amount of an actual scorpion (5 metasomal segments + the 1 pincer)
lastly, his palette! sting's palette is actually inspired by the deathstalker scorpions from kipo and the age of wonderbeasts! actual deathstalkers are more orange/brown, but the mutated ones in kipo are various shades of red. you can really see the inspiration in this image here
his tail has an alternating color palette for readability! it'd be harder to make out more action-y poses if it was all the same color, or if it was half lighter half darker, so the alternating colors help make it more distinct
this art is from august! it helps show the color breakdown
(flat + shade)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND THATS IT! that is all the thought and inspiration i put into my boy. if you took the time to actually read through all of this thank you so much!!! it genuinely means a lot to me 🌟
if you really like sting, please consider voting for him in the oc showdown! you can vote here

is there a difference between alina and alya???? in terms of personality?
Since Alina is supposed to represent precanon Alya: yes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From the 9/7/2012 bible: As eccentric as Marinette is classic, Alya wears extravagant outfits, swinging from gothic to geeky. She takes pride in being nothing like the others. It's her way of distinguishing herself. Alya is perfectly at ease with all things technology and telecommunications. Moreover, she's a budding reporter for the college newspaper!... Alya shares her bedroom with her younger sister. The room is divided in two. Alya's half is lined with posters of comic book superheroes, the floor is strewn with cables connected to an imposing DIY computer station.... Besides, she has theories on everything, admittedly- they are often very absurd. She dreams of gaining powers and becoming a heroine like Ladybug... Alya doesn't understand how Marinette can fall for Adrien, On the other hand, Alya finds Cat Noir super classy, molded into his somewhat gothic leather uniform. Oh! If only Alya was Ladybug...
She is bright, smart, geeky- but fashionable! She's an individualist- loving to define and express herself. She's whipping up wacky theories that stem from her hobby of being a reporter for the school newspaper and her love of superheros- something she wishes desperately to be. She's a tech wiz- having built her own computer.
She also has a crush on Chat Noir, which i think is great in contrast to the love diamond and her relationship with Marinette. Later art of her does show that she even put red streaks in her hair, wore goggles, and held a helmet, which I think is super neat and expresses her more... creative or even techy side?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Canon Alya, on the other hand, dosen't seem to be too entrenched in tech, past a passing comment that a "good reporter backs up her files" or smth. But that's like.. something built into most phones these days, so it's not really a.. tech.. geek thing. Alya also never expresses much desire to be a hero, it more falls into her lap due to circumstance and nepotism. and her antics devolved into "stupid reporter" and zero self-preservation instinct- as well as pushing Marinette around for self-confidence reasons. (there is a discussion to be had there around black and asian stereotypes but thats a discussion for another day.)
Anyway, while it's true that none of the characters change outfits much due to cheaping out on 3D, Alya expresses no interest in fashion whatsover. In fact, she seems to carry a hipster vibe (she's rather unfashionable- I mean, most the cast are, actually.) and her outfit sort of expresses a carelessness to her fashion choices- as it's boring and plain, rather than "eccentric" She also actively seems to balk at the idea of Chat, and ignored him for the most part in favor of Ladybug. Her relationship with Nino is actively detrimental to her character and I think was her shark jump- as it suddenly started being the justification for a LOT OF BAD BEHAVIOR.
Hope this helps!

Inspiration (in honor of Speak Now Taylor's Version): Enchanted by Taylor Swift.
Summary: Your town was small, not the smallest you knew, but anyone of high fortune was the gossip of the week. Predictably, Richard Grimes was a thing of whispers -rumors of a search for marriage among the grassy hills. You weren't one to buy into town gossip, but something about him... just seemed a little too intriguing.
TWS: infidelity, child abandonment, heartbreak, mentioned family dissolution, anti-Lori, anti-Shane, death of a family member, and betrayal.
[[ A/N: hey besties, I am working on other series too!! I'm just very inspired with this one right now, but don't worry!!! The Nurse, and the neighbor one I'm workshopping are still in the works! anyways, hop aboard the dialogue train my friends! Let's get to talking :))) actually insanely dialogue heavy on god (sorry if thats not your vibe) and thanks for reading lovelies !!! ]]
Tumblr media
"Judith... She's-" he moved through them slowly -as if it hurt, "-She's not mine."
"You-" you echoed, finding your voice lost, "-You mean to say-"
"The affair-" Mr. Grimes started, "-extended beyond what I knew. Both in the length of time and extent, I came to realize."
"Yet, you-" you started, debating truly on what the right thing to say here was -somehow urged to ask questions, "-you care for her."
"Yes, I-" he exhaled, "-when Lori told me she was expectin', she told me of the full circumstance. I had to make quick decisions -despite feelings I... I realized a much lesser man would refuse to house a pregnant woman."
"You housed her, did she... was Judith borne of your estate?"
"In Atlanta," he clarified, "-I housed her for the full term, she chose to leave of her own volition. It was... She-"
"Loved him," you finished -familiar with that portion yourself, "-I... She told me so, upon my first independent visit of the estate."
"Right," Mr. Grimes hummed -something rather sad in his tone, but you found the same remembering such a night, "-Lori... Lori decided upon Judith's birth that she was to stay with me. That she'd live a life as our child and not one of an affair."
"And you agreed."
"I won't say I didn't think twice 'bout it," he confided, and you felt quite special to even be hearing all this, "-I believe... If Judith hadn't been at play, I believe I would've been much angrier. To me, this was a matter of a child's life first, and a matter of infidelity second. I just wished for her to have a good life and any sort of circumstance with Shane in her life... She'd be ostracized. I believe both he and Lori knew that well."
"So, they-" you began, trekking your words carefully, "-they gave her up. And you... you raise her as your own."
"Yes, it's odd, I-" Mr. Grimes started -he seemed to be a little on edge, perhaps awaiting your reaction, "-I found the bitterness faded away. It was less like I was holdin' somethin' 'at showed a betrayal and more of I was holdin' someone made of two people I cared dearly for."
"You are truly selfless," you complimented -rather amazed by such circumstances, "-to do such a thing. I... I imagine the decision was not easy, but I've... I've seen you with Judith. You truly care for her, love her even, despite what she represents to you personally."
"The only bitterness I hold with her now is that of the abandonment," he echoed, something rather solemn in his eyes, "-Judith was never intended to know she was her mother, only in passin', but Carl..."
"He lost a mother," you finished - something distant tone as you were reminded of your own ache in your chest, "-It's not something you're supposed to handle well.
The Headmistress was something entirely different, sure she was maternal to you and your sisters but... She was not your mother. All you remembered of her now were portraits, fuzzy memories, and the stories your father told. He said that she looked the most like Beth -big doe eyes, but she had the resilience to match Maggie and a certainty to match your own.
Father always said he'd see her in each one of you every day, a shining memory of something he wished to truly never forget. You hoped he wouldn't, you'd wanted to know everything-
"Your mother, she-"
"Died of illness when I was nearly 10," you answered -a bit curtly, but you were sure he understood, "-Beth was not yet 1, too little to remember much, but Maggie and I... We remember sometimes. We used to compile little bits and pieces and tell Father and he'd tell us the full story. You feel as though you should remember more when someone is gone but... but you do not."
"Do you..." he questioned, "-do you believe he'll remember her, truly?"
You paused, glancing out the window where they still played -although, Judith looked quite tired of it now, and you tried to put yourself in his shoes. They fit quite well, you noticed. Just add a tiny little brunette by his side and you'd say the circumstance was identical in ways. But in other ways... it wasn't. Lori could see him, she just didn't wish to. Her visits weren't prone to impossibility, just... just shame. Who would not run to the ends of the earth for their children? Not fight through the pain just to get to them, the little triumphs of it all.
You supposed some wouldn't.
"I'm not an expert, but-" you echoed -a rather bitter sort of taste bubbling up your throat, almost metallic, "-I will say he will most likely wish to, in certain ways. I... I can never see my mother again, that is not by her choice, but rather by the earth's. He's soon to understand that his mother was at quite an impasse but still... still had a choice-"
Mr. Grimes silently connected his hand with yours -rubbing his thumb along the back of your palm, soothing.
"-and she didn't choose him. Even with you asserting the marriage be ended, she still... had a choice. To visit often, be involved, or- or not. And based on her arrival to the state, I'd garner to say she's not involved."
"Would he..." he fumbled out, "-Would he be bitter? I kno' it's unusual to wish well on such betrayal but-"
"Mr. Grimes," you turned to him, voice steady, "-you have made your decision to allow the grievances on your side. It is up to Carl how he addresses them in his own life, and you must understand that independence. I know that you wish such positive influence for the mother of your children, which you are a good man for, it doesn't have to excuse the behavior for him."
"I jus'-"
"Carl hurt in his own way, as I'm sure you know-" you continued, a lowered calm tone, "-it is up to him to decide how he deals with it. If he wishes to hate his mother for the rest of his life, so be it. It's dreadful to say but Lori made the decision fully knowing such consequences could arise. If she wishes it fixed, she must do so herself."
He sighed, a deep sort of rattling one -a resignation deep in the tone as if he knew it was coming, "I kno', I just- I suppose I want better for Carl and took it upon myself to try and make it better."
"An honorable cause," you echoed -clasping your connected hands with your own, comforting, "-Mr. Grimes, if you treat Carl anything like Judith then he is well cared for. I'm positive you do everything in your power to care for them."
"Ms. Greene," he spoke -looking at you at that sort of way that made your heart flip in your stomach, "-I... Thank you."
"You should know by now, it is not needed."
"I kno'," he spoke, rather softly, "-I wish to. Ms. Greene, I don't know how to properly portray to ya that anythin' I do for you is not out of obligation. I'm rather pleased to do it just because it's for you."
"Is that not what I was implying?" You spoke, rather bashfully, "-I... Mr. Grimes, I don't need to be thanked for anything I do for you, I... I am pleased to do so myself."
"Right, yes," he continued -intently, "-but I want to. I want... Ms. Greene, I summoned you today to clear some things up, as you 'ave learned. All a bit personal, but you must understand my intentions-"
"To explain your actions?" you questioned.
"No," he started, before correcting, "-well, yes but no. I... Ms. Greene, the scenario I told you... Judith, her arrival to this world, the truth of it is something I've sworn to secrecy. Something that only is knowledge of the parties involved and some of my most trusted staff-"
"I understand, truly," you echoed -urging to soothe what you believed to be worry, "-Mr. Grimes, you will not hear me speak of such a matter to anyone."
"While I appreciate 'at notion, I-" He seemed a bit lost in his wording, almost perhaps embarrassed, "-it's not what I intended for you to understand-"
"And I'm supposed to know these such intentions? I believed you were presenting your side to something that wasn't quite whole for me."
"Ms. Greene," Mr. Grimes huffed out, maybe a touch frustrated at his own lack of cohesion, "-that is a part of why I've summoned ya today, a surly part, sure but merely a part."
You paused, a little at a loss, "What are you implying, sir?"
"There's-" he paused, pinching the bridge of his nose between his fingers, "-Judith's tale is one I would hardly let off the estate, somethin' so jeopardizing needs to be properly policed. I've made sure to keep it 'at way, not even tellin' my complete staff, only those I trust the most. And yet, despite it all, I sit 'ere and find myself tellin' you."
"Well-"
"Ms. Greene," he urged with a playful sort of smile -the type you always saw in his banter, "-as much as I'm delighted to hear ya speak, as I am with anythin' you do, will you let me 'ave a moment?"
You flushed a bright sort of crimson, it was a rather polite way of saying 'shut up' -maybe even complimenting, "Of course, speak at your will."
He nodded, ever so slightly turning in the couch to fully face you, and taking his free hand to clasp the amalgamation you'd just previously added onto. You'd assumed it looked rather odd from an outside perspective, but still, somehow the touch grounded you to the moment -commanded you to attention. Mr. Grimes had always had such an odd effect on you after all, what was one more?
"Ms. Greene," he spoke in that sort of fond way that you often imagined narrators to be when you read -all wistful and happy, "-you rightfully delight me, and I initially, I... wished you to know about Judith to explain my circumstances. But now I find there's something bigger than that. I- I'm..."
He fell a little silent, seeming to try and gather his words -you waited, patiently.
"How did you say it?" He questioned, and you were to answer 'what' but realized he was speaking to himself, rhetorically, "-'I've fallen in love with you. Most completely'."
Something in you stilled, was he... was he truly-
"It's hard to describe, but I-" Mr. Grimes continued, hardly letting you reel yourself back in from such an admittance, "-I find a part of myself tellin' you such things, as Judith's unfortunate beginnin', because I... I want you here. It's not a lack of trust, you just-"
He paused for a moment, before unclasping your hands and using the pads of his fingers to guide your eyes back to his. The press of his thumb against your chin brought you back to the moment that you supposed you drifted to. Something in your stomach fluttered.
"-belong here with me. And maybe it's rather selfish to instill such ideas upon you, but I... I haven't been selfish enough I believe. Nor have I been clear enough."
"Mr. Grimes-" you tried to urge him away, from such a tone.
"Ms. Greene," he responded in the same tone, fingertips still on the edge of your skin, "-there is no letter this time, no coy jabs that flow seamlessly with the banter, and no heartbreakin'."
"You don't-"
He didn't respond, only adjusted slightly to fully face you -blue eyes with their ever-familiar twinkle, and hand now cradling your cheek. It was a rather tender sort of movement that sent such a familiar buzz down your spine -warmth, but also held your gaze on his.
"Y/N, I-" he breathed out and you felt it fan across your skin, "-I love you, far more than I think I could ever fully grasp. And I wish to court you, properly as I kno' ya deserve-"
"Mr. Grimes..." you whispered, slightly weepy and a little in tone but there was no bite -you felt as if you weren't really there.
He merely only moved his hands to wipe away such tears -pads of his thumbs brushing against your skin (it nearly made you want to cry even more), "-and when things go well, as I know they should. I shall ask for your hand, with a lot more bravado than perhaps now but I suppose I 'ave time to perfect it."
"You..." you echoed, voice shaky and tears a bit distant from you now, but you still felt quite vulnerable, "-You... You love me, despite the... despite the letters and the nonsense and my family and my Headmistress-"
"Ms. Greene," he hummed, "-I've never been more certain of anythin' in my life."
"But-"
"And there was no choice," he interrupted, brushing his fingers over your hair -assumedly smoothing it into place, "-you spoke of... last time, I 'chose' you. That's not what had ever gone through my mind."
"Surely, you must have considered it," you whispered out -a sort of weepy tone trailing every word, "-for societal standards, at the very least. You... When Lori appeared upon your doorstep, you cannot tell me the thought did not cross your mind."
"A long time ago," Mr. Grimes spoke, a distant sort of bitterness flaring up in his tone, "-I came to terms with what Lori had done and why. When she arrived on my doorstep that evenin', I housed her as the mother of my children, not as... not as my estranged wife. If you'd asked me years ago, I suppose I might've done so. But now? With you? Ms. Greene, there was no choice."
"I..."
"Upon her arrival, the first thing I did was write that letter, detailing the cancelation-" he hummed, rubbing his thumb along your cheekbone, "-she was on my estate for the first time since Judith's birth, and all I could think about was you."
"Mr. Grimes-"
"I love you," he urged and something in you softened -something molten and warm swirling in your stomach, "-Ms. Greene, you are somethin' I'd never believe I'd get after Lori. You must understand how precious 'at makes you to me."
You were nearly speechless, only one thing floating in your mind, "I love you too. I... I suppose, I just never believed that you could love me so."
"And 'at is why I know I have been far too coy, in my affections for you," he hummed -fond and soft, as if it was only the two of you in the world. Or rather, if all he wished to pay attention to was you. Perhaps it was.
"As if I wasn't," you laughed, a little in astonishment at your current situation -he loved you, "-I haven't been too forthcoming myself, Mr. Grimes."
"I believe I have it in myself to forgive you for such misfortunes," he retorted, all smiley again and you felt a rush of fondness, admiration, love-
You smiled, a little tight from tears but still genuine -exaggerating playfully, "I'm rather honored to have such mercy, sir."
He chuckled, just a touch, bright laughter bubbling up in your chest (love, love, love-), seeming to absorb the moment -eyes flickering all over your face in a silence you found oddly comfortable. It was as if there was no need to speak, being in his presence was enough. Content.
"Does your residence 'ave any plans for dinner?"
"No," you spoke, playfully annoyed but the crimson on your cheeks told their own story, "-why? Are you so impatient to speak to my Father that you could only wait mere hours?"
"Possibly," Mr. Grimes echoed, biting back such a smile himself, "-my chef is terrific, very talented in a wide range of dishes. I'd venture she could cook for anyone."
"Is that an invitation?"
"Yes," he revealed, smile slipping across his lips, "-and a question. Do you have a favorite dish?"
"Oh, please," you laughed, "-I do not require such treatment, Mr. Grimes."
He chuckled -a rather telling sort of look in his eyes, "It's an innocent question-"
"Sure," you spoke with a certain tilt in your tone, "-and I suppose the berry basket was an innocent gift, then?"
"Alright, fine-" he urged, perhaps a little embarrassed -the familiar pink rising along his cheekbones, "-would you honor me with at least your favorite dessert?"
"Are you truly so eager to impress me?" You laughed, a bit in disbelief.
"Please you," he corrected, "-I happen to like when you're smilin', and would like to have a hand in helpin' such a feeling come to."
"Oh, Mr. Grimes," you echoed, a grin spreading across your lips -happiness a sort of electricity rattling your bones, "-you don't need a dessert to do such a thing."

ok i wasnt gonna do it i told myself no im just not gonna say anything on this drama but this is so MINDBOGGLING that i HAVE to make a post about this
i am gonna start by saying as someone on the arospectrum i personally see peridot as either fully aroace or arospec (i like headcanoning either one) and as in a qpr or plantonic friendship with lapis.
peridot has been confirmed to be intended to be read as aroace by a storyboard artist (maya peterson) that would focus on her character, i am not denying that,
however
she is also confirmed to be intended to be read as experiencing romantic attraction, by the OTHER storyboard artist who originally worked on peridot, jesse zuke, who has just as much authority to talk about peridots character, if not more since (to my knowledge) she was the original main storyboard artist for peridot
the intention behind what peridot is suppose to represent is fundamentally contradictory, there is absolutely no use fighting over it. this is so dumb to fight over YES both sides have been confirmed canon THATS WHY THIS IS DUMB </33
ive been trying to find as many actual sources as i can (which has been pretty difficult since A LOT has been deleted) but I finally found a transcript of one of jesse zukes posts that is deleted that everyone keeps referencing
Tumblr media
from this reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/stevenuniverse/comments/5q738i/lauren_zuke_speaks_of_her_intention/
(jesse was formerly known as lauren)
anyone posts something shipping peridot, u get a load of comments saying "this is aroace erasure, shes written as aroace, a storyboard artist said so", anyone posts something about peridot being canonically aroace, u get a load of comments saying "shes not canonically aroace, she was written as experiencing romantic attraction, a storyboard artist said so" everyone is either one or the other it seems like NO ONE is acknowledging that both is true and really this confusion is the fault of the crewniverse ????
these storyboard artists BOTH focused heavily on working on peridot and creating her character, and their intentions behind what she is are completely contradicting.
i would love for peridot to be aroace. to me she IS aroace, but im not going to pretend like this isnt the most confusing most unclear way of confirming that. even if maya peterson intended for her to be seen as aroace, jesse zuke wrote her as the complete opposite and it would be stupid of me to ignore that. harassing eachother over this is stupid. your both correct, now shake hands and make peace with eachother lol, good night.
As an arospec person I am completely fine with people shipping peridot and I do not think it is aroace erasure, because while I would love to see an orientation like mine depicted in a character like peridot, im not going to ignore that fact the she was ALSO originally meant to be read as experiencing romantic attraction AND the fact that many of the crewniverse ships peridot with people or supports others doing it. it is not aroace erasure to ship a character that was literally intended to be read as experiencing romantic attraction by some of the people who worked on her character. rebecca god damn sugar, the creator of steven universe has made fanart shipping peridot. peridots voice actor has said she likes and supports people shipping peridot. its just that different people working on the show had wildly different intentions when creating her character, and didnt clear up a solid identity for her with everyone working on her
jesse zuke said in her post "cant speak for anyone else! many people are writing those episodes". just like if maya peterson and anyone else working on peridot intended for her to be read as aroace, other people working on her character with just as much authority were writing her completely differently. people are not seeming to acknowledge that these two things co-exist. it is not one or the other. even though they are complete opposites, somehow theyve made it so that its both at once.
she was simultaneously written to be both aroace and experiencing romantic attraction by different people writing her character, clearly because of miscommunication within the crewniverse.
heres rebecca sugars ship art btw since the first 2 were really hard to find, in case anyone else wanted some sort of actual evidence of it
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also just wanted to bring attention to jesse zuke saying "anyone who wants to see the narrative they want is completely, 100% allowed to". peridot and her episodes were written to have multiple interpretations. this was written with multiple intentions. some of those intentions were aroace, some of them, like jesse zukes, were not. you are all correct peace and love
update i found a slightly longer version of jesse zukes post in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=oIl1sEQ4_iI
"I wanted to close the book on this - I am queer, and intend fully to write queer characters when I do"
this is pretty clear confirmation that peridot was fully written with completely different ideas in mind from completely different people. jesse zuke INTENDED for peridot and lapis to be read as having a queer relationship, in this post shes encouraging people to read it that way, meanwhile other writers had other intentions which are just as real and valid.
inconsistency and messy production in steven universe is not a new thing

so the op of that anti-voting post DMed me just now, transcript follows:
slash-dot-com
even if all democratic systems were inherently always going to be "inadequate" i think our american democracy is severely flawed in glaring ways, its just literally antiquated and i think there are much better democratic systems. our voting system is not representative of the people either, which almost everybody admits, i'm not saying theres some nefarious mastermind behind it, but it is a design flaw, whether the flaw was made on purpose or on mistake. its easy to quit american democracy because it doesnt even seem to Want you to participate, like from so many factors its difficult to engage with it in any meaningful way
whetstonefires
yeah it's not a fantastic system
it's just also pretty pointless to try to punish it for that by leaving it in the hands of people who hate you
it won't get its feelings hurt and try to woo us back
i used to be really mad about how stupid and ugly it is but the more history i've studied and the older i've gotten the more it's been like, oh human society is a clown show always
slash-dot-com
but for several election cycles the popular vote nor the general will of the people have even impacted the people who are elected, the people who hate us are in power because the system is designed to benefit them
whetstonefires
i mean?? biden did in fact defeat trump, and the democrats did make gains in congress in both the last two cycles
slash-dot-com
my vote in my state genuinely does not matter in federal elections, in local elections yeah sometimes it does, but there needs to be an overhaul on our democracy and its election process so its more reflective of the people. currently its so broken that voting legit doesnt change anything
biden sucks
whetstonefires
he sucks less than trump tho????
like to a screamingly significant extent
slash-dot-com
i'm trying to make a more general and large scale point than one single election cycle and sitting president
whetstonefires
and i've made my counter point which is that not voting is not a constructive response to the problem
slash-dot-com
doing other things than voting is just as effective if not more so than voting, so not voting in a broken democracy isn't nonconstructive
whetstonefires
and in fact the broad tendency of idealists and leftists to be disengaged from the political process because it's dirty and inadequate, especially at the local level, is the *cause* of many of the systemic problems
doing other things can be constructive, but not voting is a non-action
and advocating against voting is a *harmful* action
so it's not constructive
the other things and the voting are independent of one another
slash-dot-com
thats just really ill conceived, i'm honestly just surprised by that response, you should really think more deeply about this. i'm not sure what you think this way of thinking and approaching politics is accomplishing
and then i couldn't send anything else (it was going to be a ?? because that didn't really follow naturally but before they said that i'd been typing a bit listing all the voting-related activism that it made sense to dip on due to alienation from the process, because energy and funding better spent elsewhere etc, but opposing voting itself was not in the same category) because they blocked me, which is just rude. you started this conversation man!
also i can't figure out how to make tumblr let me block them back.
so i made a post about it lmao.
i still don't know what positive good they think arguing against voting is supposed to achieve. like why is that a good use of energy.

Well we know that Valentino will go for round two after what happened in ep6 so prepare for the whole chain thing amplified. (Seriously out of the whole fetish thing they could have an way more interesting approach to visually convey this message- like sure let the golden chains on Sto/litz to symbolize the power inmbalence- but like in other instance I would have- for example, Alastor pulling a leash with an little bell thing on Husk to symbolize how he is little more than a pet to him- or the most OBVIOUS one being that with Angel and Val, instead of the red smoke turning onto chains have them become a spider-web. Because irony and shit)
God thats so much more creative and interesting. Al dangling a bell on Husk is embarrassing for him cause it’s so demeaning, like maybe bells on his ears or something? And you could use Val’s noxious smoke imagery again or syrup, not have to be so on the nose with the chains again.
The chains representing “abuse” are frictioning way too hard into fetish territory. I really hate that we see Stolas put Blitz in a collar and it’s supposed to be romantic (SIGH, this is where we’re going), and we see Ozzie have Fizz in cuffs, and use pet and leash imagery, and call him a frog (much tamer) but still weird for toad to be a hateful anti imp slur, and for the next episode to then show mammon put Fizz in cuffs…and the characters are tied up so often it’s insane.
Maybe the contradiction is the point but why did striker have to call fizz Ozzies purse dog it makes me feel so weird. Why does striker have to point out the things I’m trying to desensitise myself to u_u

WAHOO SOL BACKSTORY TIME. Well . More like Sols Deal with pandemonium. her entire childhood can wait for another day. this is her ass
Tumblr media
First I need to give some context to the kingdom she lives in. Its a giant (and I mean HUGE. thousands of people live on it. you see those little lines of the sides? those are Trains to take you to each section. if thats a better size comparison) heres a drawing of it
Tumblr media
Praecanema was founded and built by a supposed “great scientist” named Velda.
Tumblr media
This giant hunk of metal roams around in a polluted desert, keeping the people inside safe from the outside air. Science is very important here, and your worth is dependent on your contributions. The kingdoms symbol is the trifecta, and its used to represent the scientific process (problem, effort, solution). The kingdom itself is anti magic, and has a superiority complex over magic users. Everyone here is kinda a massive asshole.
This was all instilled into their brains through Veldas propaganda. Why is she so anti magic? Because shes a Fraud. Infact, she uses magic Herself. She never was a great scientist, she has been harnessing the power of an entity to give her the intelligence to do any of this in the first place. This entity is also helping this giant machine to run. It was never organic fuel, it was Magic. To keep anyone from finding out, she turned her kingdom against the concept of magic entirely.
Time skip a couple of decades, and this entity is starting to grow tired of Velda constantly taking advantage of it. Veldas power over it id starting to slip. With no entity, theres no one to run the ship, and with no ship, theres no protection from the outside air. Everyone would have to evacuate, and Velda would lose her precious kingdom and reputation. She needs a new fuel source before this entity detaches from her entirely, but since shes a fraud scientist she needs Help.
This is where Sol comes in. Its not uncommon from people on this ship to be crazy, but Sol fits under the Crazy Crazy. Known to take her experiments to far, and getting herself hurt in the process. Shes also been in trouble with the law on multiple occasions. So basically, the perfect candidate for Velda to pull into her experiment. Not only has she been know to do crazy things in the name of science, shes also Completely Disposable if something goes wrong. No ones gonna miss the criminal.
Sol has constantly been belittled and is always fighting for peoples respect, so when Velda offered her to opportunity to work on a project with her, she was Thrilled. The leader? of our kingdom? wants to work with MEEE?? THAT’LL SHOW THE HATERS.. So, Sol accepts.
Sol is also currently living with her childhood best friend (they are yuri.. but its. Complicated…) Dia. Sol has only ever had Dia to rely on, so the two are very close. Heres an img of her . her relevancy will come later
Tumblr media
Anyways. Sol was instructed to keep this project a secret by Velda. She said it was to keep panic off the streets, but it was definitely just to cover up all her lies about magic.
The experiments started relatively tame, trying to convert organic resources into fuel. Nothing was working, none of it was powerful enough to run the entire ship. Unknowingly to Sol, this was because it wasn’t built to run on organic sources, it was built to run on Magic.
After tireless research, Sol exhausted all her resources. Hope was Slim. Or so she thought🤓☝️. One night at a bar, Sol drunkenly gets into a conversation with another scientist. Vaguely mentioning how her project is failing. The scientist brings up the ideas of mixing magic and science offhandedly, but it sticks with Sol. (fun fact, the scientist was illusioned in by Pandemonium (lore here if u haven’t read it https://www.tumblr.com/weedsmokingbfs/732808761161465856/not-my-ass-already-forgetting-important-lore-he its probably best to read this rq if you haven’t already) in order to set up his plan for later)
Reluctantly, Sol brings up the idea to Velda. Velda pretends to be hesitant, but its Relived Sol brought it up First. Velda pulls the “well i wouldn’t usually want to.. But if its the Only Way to Keep Everyone Safe🥺” card. So she gets to work on experimenting with different types of magic.
Originally just with the idea of casting spells on the ship, but she quickly realizes this would require a constantly influx of magic that would just be to draining for someone to do. The ship is also so large it would require Multiple People casting spells all throughout the day, which isn’t feasible. Then she moved onto the idea of harvesting magic from magical plants, or items, but over time the magic would weaken or fade out entirely. She needed an Infinite Magic source.
During all of this, Sol was being horribly overworked. She was growing more irritable, and was being a massive dick to Dia lol. Dia knew she was snapping because of all the work on her, and told her that maybe she should step down from this mystery project. Sol lost it on Dia, saying they were jealous of her. She had worked so hard for respect for so long, and now, she “had” it. Why couldn’t they just be happy for her? The argument got worse, and ended with Dia saying until Sol gets her shit together, shes staying with her mom. Sol was back to being alone.
This is when things erm. start to get a bit dark. Sol has an encounter with an immortal magic user, and realizes hey Wait a Minute. This is an infinite magic source, they cant die because they have magic keeping them alive, so no matter how much magic you harvest from them, the source Renews itself. Sol brings it up to Velda, not fully sure about it, since it requires human experimentation. Sols crazy but maybe not torture an innocent person crazy. Velda who does not give a Fuck immediately pressures Sol into it. Hinting that things may not go very well for her if she Doesn’t Comply. Sol instantly starts to feel some regrets but Whoops we are in it now boys.
She gets to work and kidnaps the immortal, and begins experimentation. Harvesting magic from the immortal, as their body continually regenerated itself. Low and behold it Worked in powering the machine. The problem is One immortals magic is not enough. It could only fuel small parts. She needed multiple. But its not like a handful of immortal magic users are just lying around anywhere.
This is where Pandemonium comes in, striking up a deal with Sol. Promising with Sols help he could possess the bodies of people, making them immortal through his magic. As long as Sol promised not to kick him out of the bodies. He claimed he was trapped inside mirrors, (the surface he can Naturally traverse) so Sol letting him into these bodies would benefit him too. (he’s LYINGG!) She takes the deal, and helps him into the bodies of some innocent people to become apart of the experiment. Yayyyyyyyyyy.
Her mental and physical health massively declined during this time, turns out being around lifeless bodies all day n experimenting on them is Really Draining! But Sol is to deep in it now, and the pressure from Velda only grows. Erm. Things get worse though.
Dia, collecting some of her things from Sols house, stumbles across papers of the work shes been doing. (once again Pandemonium let Dia find these. just the next step in his story) Her curiosity wins and she reads them, they dont reveal the full situation, but raise concerns. Dia investigates further, not fully knowing what shes getting into. It ends with her finding out about the human experimentation, to her disgust. She has bigger problems now though, because she was Also Caught, she manages to escape in time but now Velda knows Dia knows. Velda knows the only way to keep this project safe, is to “dispose” of Dia. Sol, fights aside, doesn’t want Dia to fucking Die. So she tells Velda she will take care of Dia.
Sol isn’t sure what to do, or how to protect Dia, until Pandemonium comes to her with an idea! Oh boy. Pandemonium tells Sol to let him possess Dia as well, and add her to the experiment. She wont have to kill her, and Dia will totally be unconscious and not in pain!!! 😁 And once everything with Velda calms down, Pandemonium will let Dia go :3. Sol is hesitant, but sees this as the better option to her dying. She accepts, and Dia becomes another body in the experiment.
Time goes on, Sols practically at her limit. Overworked and guilt ridden. Anything would push her over the edge. This anything, happens to be one of the people waking up during the experiment, crying and sobbing about how much pain they are in. (lowkey… i think its Dia. because im Evil.) Turns out, everyone could feel Everything Sol was doing. She was unknowingly Torturing them. She fucking snaps, and decides shes Done. She doesn’t care what happens anymore she cant go on like this.
Erm. If you remember, the premise of the deal was that Sol wasn’t allowed to force Pandemonium out of the bodies, or else the deal would be broken. And thats exactly what she does. She frees the possessed people, and the deal is broke. Pandemonium now owns Sols soul and drags her off to puppet hell.
Erm. This feels like a depressing ending but um. her story is not over… its just not finished yet because she exsists in a dnd campaign 😅 so i have to. Wait. LMFAO. I have more lore for her puppet days, but ill wait to explain it till i get to chesils lore. THIS IS ALR SO LONG
