Savannah just smiles between the two men. The two most important men in her life now. Never really thought she'd have someone other than her dad since her job had truly -- consumed her life. But she'd liked it like that back then. Now she doesn't want to see a life without either of them. 'Hyping me up as usual.' Cedric replied with a chuckle, giving Landon the same sturdy gripped hand shake back before his hands go to his hips. Looking between his daughter and him. He couldn't deny, that they made a good looking pair, but he'd not say it out loud. Savannah would have a fit. 'She's told me you know a thing or two around the kitchen as well. At least I know she's eating more than frozen dinners every night now.'
'Dad,' Savannah groaned but had a smile on her face nonetheless. She loved being here, a weightless sense of freedom and peace this far away from the chaos of her professional life. 'We'll be right back.' Taking hold of Landon's hand again and starting to lead him back towards where her old room was. 'See? Wasn't so bad right?' Trying to reassure Landon that things were going just fine. Her dad wasn't all that judgmental. So long as Savannah was happy, he would be.
Stepping into that old bedroom was like stepping back into a different time. Ceiling covered in those glow in the dark star stickers that probably barely worked anymore. The wall where her bed was pressed against was covered in hanging polaroid pictures of a younger version of herself, some with friends. Some of random places, a few candid's of her dad. Overall it was your standard teenage bedroom. A wave of nostalgia washed over her again just seeing all of these old things. 'Go on and say it by the way. Not like you missed Mrs. Adler calling me by my full name.' @wxnteroats / prev

"They hateflirt with each other in the episode they both show up in together. They kill each other. It's so hot."
Cedfia Propaganda (Age Gap - AdultxMinor)
"Despite planning to take over the kingdom, Cedric the Sorcerer always ends up caving to Sofia's worries, feelings, and need for keeping her safe. On top of that, despite Cedric often being criticised by others, Sofia is understanding of him and his struggles, allowing him to air his worries around her, and even giving him advice on occasion. While she begins mispronouncing his name as [Mr. Ceedric], she eventually learns the pronunciation of his name, and it clearly shows how much Cedric appreciates that moment in the show."

Kay, so I have, in fact, still been writing fic. However, my brain has been pea soup because my meds have been all sorts of delayed to my pharmacy. So, strap yourselves in because I've been thinking, and that has once been called a dangerous pastime. Y'all know. A line I recently wrote for a prequel fic I'm working on to "In the Flares of the Sun" is this: "Cedric is an adult who deserves far more in life than to rely solely on the companionship of a child and a bird for his flourishing and development. Yet, somewhere along the line, someone decided that he should be grateful for any scrap of affection the world threw his way." (This is Miranda speaking btw. Generally, she and Cedric are the closest you're going to hear to "me," the author, talking when you're reading my fics.) Now, in fandom, we rightly talk a lot about how, through Sofia's kindness, Cedric found redemption. However, like ... that had to be kind of hard? Part of the reason I think his redemption is so non-linear is because everytime Sofia tried to give him a hand up Roland, or someone else, tried to punch him down. It's been commonly said that for every ONE negative comment we receive as human beings we need FIVE positive comments to counteract it. Lets ... Lets just think about that. If we assume by the "Day of the Sorcerers" Cedric is somewhere between 39, on the young end, and 42, on the old end, and at the time of "The Incident" he was 6, on the young end, and 9, on the old end. That's something like ... what almost 3+ decades of KINGDOMS worth of negativity that then ONE child is trying to counteract? So, like, yeah, Sofia is awesome. Full stop. She's amazing! But, Cedric needs SOME credit in accepting what she offers him. The fact that he does accept what Sofia offers to him, and readily, speaks to a SINCERE amount of intrinsic goodness IN HIM. I'm amazed that this character isn't full and complete Horned King or Maleficent levels of evil! He still has compassion left in him. He still has a heart. He still HAS goodness left to BE fostered. He is not, at all, heartless. He. Still. Loves. THAT is impressive. THAT takes guts. I just started my second rewatch with my kid. And, what has struck me on round 2, is just how ready he is to accept Sofia's kindness even in episode 3. I LOVE that it doesn't stick because that's real. However, to me, what that really foreshadows well is the finale. Sofia facing off Vor? Cedric's already done that. WITHIN HIMSELF. He has looked in the mirror every. single. day. and fought himself. The creators actually did, I think, a great job of setting up, subtly, what that final battle was going to be about though subtext. In that final battle, the subtext just becomes main text. Sofia's foil has already been battling apathy, despair, loneliness, and villainy within himself the whole darn series. In the finale, we just get to see that same fight externalized between the living personification of the evil perspective. Vor is what happens when you - as is literally done by Prisma - bring all the pieces of Disney villains together. There may have been some pieces of Disney villains in Cedric's character design. But, not in his heart. Not in personality. Vor IS the literal pieces, the TOOLS, of the past villians. She IS evil. Further, what I love about this, is that this means Sofia isn't alone in what she has done in the finale. She isn't the only character who has looked evil in the face and won. She doesn't have to be alone. My major issue with the Protector story arc is how much responsibility Sofia is forced to take on at such a young age. (I am SO team Miranda on this one.) However, at least in this case, Sofia has a mentor who did the hard thing first. Cedric has full and total empathy for how hard it is to look at the living embodiment of villainy and face it off with kindness - Sofia's kindness. Because, that's what Cedric had to do in the mirror for years with himself until he made the final choice to choose goodness. And, you know what? I think that's really heroic and admirable.

Thinking about them again and realising that I don't like the idea that Greylock was practically a bully to Cedric in their schooldays or that Cedric hated him. To each their own, but I think they're just two dorks with a bit of rivalry who get super competitive at times. They get along quite well together when they're not competing! Well, and when Greylock's not pranking him. He's just the annoying friend, I guess. I don't want Greylock to ever stop being annoying, and I want Cedric to be seriously concerned if he does stop.
As for why Cedric wouldn't consider him a friend: this is Season 2 Cedric. Literally his whole arc is about friendship.

Hey tumblr, It’s been years.
I’m pretty bad at keeping up with posting on my social media’s, so here’s a redesign of Cedric the Sorcerer as a smoll with my oc when she’s also smoll.
Not sure If I’ll post years of backlogged art, but I’d definitely love to interact with different fandoms.

❛ ☾ ◟━ LOCATION: grudge box
❛ ☾ ◟━ TIME: evening
❛ ☾ ◟━ STATUS: closed for @ofgrenvde — cedric valois
The Grudge Box was a little crowded than usual as it seemed like many wanted to settle the score after the events that took place from the explosion. There were Onyx Circuit enthusiasts and others that supported the Six Families. Regardless, fights were happening as per usual, it was just that the majority were more passionate than normal. Tonight, Desmond was a spectator and in no mood to battle it out on the ring as he found no use to, especially with tensions high, he did not want to draw any attention to him nor the Mehra family. Instead, he opted to join Cedric's side and check in on how things were doing. "Hey man." he greeted as he approached the ex-boxer. "I see that it's a lively night. Hopefully these guys haven't been giving you trouble?"

The loss of Conny is unquestionably devastating to Don, but the “and I wanna know Mom…I mean, the real Mom” gets me every time for how resolute it is despite his visible nervousness and knowing it will do nothing but hurt him. It's one aspect of their search that's not for anyone but himself.
A small but desperate desire to understand a woman he trusted and loved with his whole heart.

Thought I'd share the beginning of a long fanfiction chapter for the Sofia the First fandom! Takes place in the beginning of Season 2 and introduces a new face to the cast. Someone even more infamous than Cedric?
Also just a heads up that it's slightly darker than its upbeat source material. Nothing worse than the darkest Disney movies 🙂
In the magical world of the EverRealm, curses were just as abundant as the magic that created them. Sprouting up from just about any corner of the world. As much as magic benefitted those who lived with it, it was still quite volatile and dangerous in these circumstances. To have one person be affected by a curse was already a serious problem depending on the severity. But a whole town? Civilization?
To be cursed is to be punished. Be that by a divine being or powerful magic. In most cases, the latter is far more common.
A curse that affected a large land mass was only slightly more common than natural disasters. Even those were often said to be born from magical disturbances. But few people were capable of stopping them solely on their own.
Enchancia was currently under the influence of a widespread curse; nearly the entire kingdom was affected. This was dubbed as the curse of Eternal Night. It was not as harmful as other curses, but still caused unrest within the kingdom. When crops and fauna began to wither, the king knew that he had to take drastic measures to bring sunlight back to the lands.
King Roland the Second was quick to act since day one of this curse. His first order was to send out knights to patrol the kingdom for any signs of foul sorcery. Right after he sent them off, he then turned to someone who specialized in the manner of all things magic. This was of course the kingdom's very own royal sorcerer, Cedric.
Despite being the kingdom's royal sorcerer, not a lot of people put much faith in him to do things right. Spells going awry was a common occurrence. Of course, he would get things correct eventually, but not until after everyone bore witness to the failures. Thus it was no surprise to him when he was not able to produce results for the root cause of the curse even after a week.
While the kingdom itself was able to receive imports from its neighboring monarchies and the people were able to take in sunlight by leaving the kingdom's borders, it was still in a state of crisis. With not even the moon or stars illuminating the sky, it sunk the morale of the usually upbeat locals. Not only that but it caused disarray among the commoners who did not have clocks in their homes. The only sort of light that bloomed in the kingdom was the flickering of torches and candles alike.
By the time the two week mark hit, the people's panic continued to grow. Local flora was beginning to die and leaves had begun to fall off trees. Even with the kingdom's best efforts, no one was able to locate the cause of this curse nor knew of a way to stop it. Not even Princess Sofia's assistance was enough to aid the kingdom this time. So King Roland was left with no other choice than to seek help from outside Enchancia.
When other kingdoms became aware of Enchancia's plight, they did their best to offer support and advice. However none could truly do anything in regards to the curse itself. Unfortunately, it was decided that the kingdom was in dire need of a professional to deal with the issue at hand. And there was only one such person who was readily available to be contacted at any given time.
A curse exorcist. That is what they call sorcerers who devote their lives to the study and elimination of curses. There were few who existed in the world, but those who did were dedicated to their craft. One in particular was widely known to have a notably high success rate in vanquishing every curse they came across. Eris the Accursed.
King Roland had just informed this to his family during another dinner illuminated by candlelight. While this was supposed to be a good thing, many appeared skeptical at first. After all, it was not too long ago with their last encounter with a sorceress. She was proven to be a fraud in the end, but it still put a damper on expectations.
The youngest child could only smile at the news. This was no time to be sad after all. If it was a chance to cure the kingdom, how could she not be ecstatic?
“Then that's great! She'll be able to make the darkness go away!” Sofia smiled with excitement as there was finally a promising lead on putting an end to the curse. Her stepfather did not share the same enthusiasm.
“She is still a dangerous woman, Sofia. There is a reason she is called Eris the Accursed. Inviting her into the kingdom may only bring more trouble,” Roland explained to her as the girl's blue eyes went back down to her food.
Queen Miranda looked towards her daughter with understanding as she placed a hand against Sofia's back. Sofia was truly a girl pure of heart and always sought to see the best in people. But, like her husband, she too was cautious of this curse exorcist.
“You've always been a very kind girl, Sofia. But as your father says, she is not a person we can trust so easily. We'll just have to hope for the best upon her arrival,” Miranda said in that naturally soothing voice she had that seemed to put everyone in a better mood. At least until the twins added their thoughts on the topic.
“So, is she actually super evil?” James piped up with curiosity. His question had visibly worried his twin sister. Before Roland could answer him, his eldest daughter spoke first.
“She won't try to harm us, will she?” Amber whimpered, thinking about some evil villainess showing up with the goal of taking over the kingdom. It seemed unlikely that would happen, but it was still a cause for concern.
Roland sighed as he crossed his arms. In his mind he was thinking that this was a risk they would have to take. But to pacify the worried faces of the children, he had to downplay his own concerns.
“As long as you don't go near her alone, everything will be fine. She wouldn't dare to do anything like that with an audience. None of the rumors have mentioned her being so bold,” Roland explained to them which seemed to ease Amber a little. But only more questions popped up.
“Rumors?” the young Sofia spoke up, prompting her stepfather to sigh. He supposed there was no reason to keep these from them. In fact, it would only encourage them to maintain their distance from Eris—should she arrive in Enchancia.
Roland sighed again, realizing there was little point in withholding the truth from them. “Yes, rumors,” he began, his voice lowering as if the shadows themselves might be listening. “The most well-known one is that townsfolk have reported their neighbors going missing after interacting with a woman dressed in a dark cloak…”
Let me know if you have any thoughts!

"your grace."
she might have greeted this king of the reach with the respect his title demanded, but it was in words alone. she did not bend her knees to curtsy, did not incline her head in a bow. no, that much halima would not do. he might have been her king, but he was not hers. the dornish had no king.
what they did have was reach ships in their waters, put there on the command of the man before her as he overexerted his power, in the name of - what? whatever conflicts existed between the summer isles and his kingdom was not a dornish concern, and yet, their seas had become a battleground, as though he thought he had a right to it. how long would it be before his gaze turned inward to land?
Tumblr media
she did not trust him, yet she could not deny that curiosity had prevented her from answering his request to meet with silence. she knew not what he wanted from her. yronwood sat upon the sea of dorne, and whilst kingsgrave sat in prince's pass, it was the fowlers who stood as the guardian of it, though, she supposed, it was closer to the marches than skyreach was. was that what this was? a welcoming party for a new neighbour? her lips curled into a half-smirk at the thought.
what do you want? she wanted to ask, but not in those words. too accusatory. how can i help? that wouldn't do either. she didn't want to help him, and that would make it seem as though she did.
"you wished to see me?" better.

closed for @ofgrenvde (for cedric) location: some nature trail
Getting a morning run in was a luxury for Amara—something she could only manage on days that weren’t already drowning in meetings. Today, luckily, was one of those rare mornings. She’d kept a good pace, but as she neared the more public stretch of the park, a sudden wave of dizziness caught her off guard. She reached out, steadying herself on a nearby bicycle rack, fingers gripping the cool metal as she exhaled sharply. "Is it just--hotter today or am I losing my stamina?" She mumbled, not quite expecting anyone to respond seeing as she was mostly speaking to herself, a bad habit she'd developed since moving away from Toronto nearly six years ago.

LOCATION: The Fix FOR: @ofgrenvde
Tumblr media
"Man, a lot's happening and my head is spinning," he said, keeping his voice low but letting some frustration leak through. "Can you believe Giovanna is dating Nia and they both kept it from me? It's crazy." The whole situation had him twisted up in ways he didn't expect. His sister had always been independent, made her own choices, but this felt different. Like they'd all agreed he couldn't handle the truth. And Nia - they'd known each other for years, built real trust. The secrecy stung more than the actual relationship.
