hi hello, i’m interested in your writing 😌
a simple request, if you wish:
Small Cumulus just having a snuggle day with her favorite ghoul/s (whoever you’d like). Something cutesy
i am cumulus and desperately need cuddles with ghouls
hi!!! sorry it's a little short but ngl im always scared of writing ghoulettes ahdgadsf i hope you still like it <3
477 words, no cws just cutesy as requested, little cumulus, cg mama cirrus, cg dada mountain
“Mama?” Cumulus spoke quietly from where she was nestled against Cirrus’ side. They haven’t been doing much all day—naming it their snuggle day. Cumulus drops rarely, but when she does she needs to be cuddled and comforted, even if nothing bad has happened. Cirrus was always her go-to person for that, and her gentle loving aura never failed to make the little ghoulette slip comfortably a bit further down.
“Yes, cloudie?” Cirrus was running her fingers through the storm of blond curls, making Cumulus purr deep in her chest.
“Can we invite Dada?” she asked, having their resident earth ghoul in mind.
“Of course we can! I’ll call him, alright?” The little ghoulette nodded and chirped, waiting. Cirrus called Mountain and soon enough there was a knock on their bedroom’s door. “Come in!”
The door squeaked and opened, big antlers showing up first. “Hello there, ladies. How is my sweet girl doing?”
“Dada!” Cumulus giggled and sat up, making grabby hands in the earth ghoul’s direction. “I’s snuggle day!”
“Is that so?” Mountain smiled and made his way over to the bed. “Does that mean I can get snuggles too?”
“All snuggles!” When the ghoul was close enough for Cumulus to reach out and grab his hand, she pulled—not with much force—and made him crawl into their nest.
“Well, how do you want me, sweet girl?” The ghoulette furrowed her brows in thought, looking back and forth between Mountain and Cirrus. Neither of them hurried her, there was no need. At last, her eyes widened and a grin returned to her face.
“Here,” Cumulus said, pointing at the middle of the bed, by the headboard. Mountain shuffled over and got into position, checking in to make sure he was right when Cumulus wanted him. She gave him a confident nod and laid down with her head on his chest, curling into his side.
“What about me, cloudie?” Cirrus giggled, running a hand over the little ghoulette’s arm.
“Snuggle from there!” Cumulus announced. The other chuckled and curled around Cumulus’ back, squeezing her in a way she knew she loved.
“Good?” Mountain asked, as if Cumulus wasn’t purring up a storm.
“Good,” she confirmed and nuzzled her nose into the earth ghoul’s chest. It was quiet for a moment—apart from three loud purrs—and both Mountain and Cirrus thought Cumulus had fallen asleep at some point. They both kept gently stroking her hair the way she loved best and even they got a bit sleepy.
Cumulus squirmed again at some point, though, mumbling something not very understandable at first. She yawned, then, and spoke again, “Love snuggle day. Best with Mama an’ Dada.”
“We love snuggle days with you, too, sweet girl,” Mountain whispered, leaning down to press a kiss to the little ghoulettes forehead.
“We love you, cloudie,” Cirrus added.
“Mhmmm…” Cumulus hummed, half asleep already, “love M’n’Da…”

Aether trying to put a fussy little dew to bed...sounds like fun lol
Do you think you can write a fic about this?
yeah sure! of course!
I love writing regressed dew, and I think him being fussy fits his personality so well! Thank you for the request!
Without futher ado:
1am shenanigans
Summary: It’s 1am, and a tired Aether is trying to put the very energetic regressed fireghoul to bed.
words: 900
Pairings: Regressed Dewdrop, Caregiver Aether, also brief appearance of Cirrus
The fire ghoul spurled around the room, his body wriggling and gleaming with energy as he chased around the laser pointer Cirrus was playing with around the ghoul common room. He had the been chasing the laser for hours before, and the energy of the ghoul came to no end as he bounced around the room.
“Deww! Its time for some shut eye! It’s 1 am dear” Aether's voice rang out in the ghoul common room, laced with nothing but concern for the fire ghoul. He stepped in front of the energetic rascal, his body exuding a presence of gentle calmness.
"But....Aefey! I don't want to go to bed! I'm not tired" Dewdrop whine, disappointment lingering in his eyes, his nose scrunched in disgust at the idea of being put to bed.
“I know, little firefly, but don't you want to wake up and have the energy to play tomorrow?" Aether spoke, as he gestured to Cirrus to put away the laser pointer.
”Aether is right, you know, I think it's time for us to go to bed“ Cirrus spoke, her voice croaky from all the laughter she passed in the past couple of hours.
”Not tired! Cirrus! Please can we play some more?" Dewdrop shot his words, as he pounced in the air and crossed his arms.
“None can do, kid” Cirrus spoke as she yawned “I'm off to have my evening shower, see ya in the morning Aeth! Goodnight little one!“ she cooed the last part to Dewdrop.
”We need to calm you down, firefly" Aether whispered.
“Aeth, five more minutes? I really want to run around! It's so fun!"
"Nope, all the other ghouls went to bed. Now would you be a good boy for me? I'll tuck you in if you behave" Aether spoke, slight irritation lingering in his voice.
Dewdrop's lower lip jutted out ever so slightly, showcasing the classic sign of a pout. The smooth curve of his lips now held a hint of resistance, a silent protest against the unwelcome suggestion of sleep. Even his fiery aura seemed to flicker with a subdued intensity, mirroring the conflicted emotions etched across his expressive face.
“Please Dew?” Aether begged, his usual friendly and warm eyes tinted with exhaustion, and a hint of concern. "Why do you even want to stay up, anyway?"
"Not tired, Aethy" Dewdrop confessed.
Aether looked at Dewdrop, his eyes reflecting a mix of weariness and amusement. "Come on, firefly, bedtime is calling, and even the laser pointer needs its beauty sleep."
Dewdrop's eyes widened at the mention of the laser pointer, torn between the allure of play and the idea that Aether used his emotions like that.
Aether chuckled, "You know, if the laser pointer could talk, it would probably be saying, 'Enough, Dew, I need a break!'" He mimicked a high-pitched, imaginary voice, eliciting a giggle from Cirrus.
Dewdrop, caught off guard by the unexpected humour, let out a small laugh but still looked reluctant. Aether seized the opportunity to continue the banter. "Besides, if you stay up all night, you'll turn into a nocturnal ghoul, and I'm not sure the others are ready for that."
Cirrus, who turned back from entering her room, joined in, "Yeah, Dew, imagine waking up to find yourself surrounded by sleepy ghouls trying to get ready for the day while you're bouncing off the walls."
The thought seemed to amuse Dewdrop, and his resistance waned as he envisioned the comical scenario. "Okay, okay, I guess I don't want to be the only ghoul wide awake when everyone else is snoring," he conceded with a grin.
Aether seized the moment, "That's right, firebug" Now, let's make bedtime a grand adventure. I'll even tell you a story about a mischievous fire ghoul who learned the importance of a good night's sleep."
With a playful twinkle in his eye, Aether led Dewdrop towards his bedroom. It glowed with the warmth of red and gold hues, evoking the essence of dancing flames. Adorned with tapestries and artwork depicting swirling fire motifs, the room's focal point was a bed with crackling ember-patterned sheets and flame-carved headboard. In a cozy corner, a lava lamp added a mesmerizing touch, its molten wax mimicking the fluid movement of lava, casting a dynamic play of light.
Dewdrop climbed into the bed, as Aether threw some blankets on his body, as he tucked in the ghoul.
"Cosy, my love?" Aether cooed softly, as he tuned on the lavalamp.
“Bed time story, please?” Dewdrop asked
"Absolutely, my little Dewcifer" Aether replied with a tender smile, the warm glow of the lava lamp casting a soft radiance across the room.
As Dewdrop nestled into the crackling ember-patterned sheets, Aether began to weave a bedtime story, his voice a soothing melody that harmonized with the gentle flicker of the fiery-themed bedroom. The tale unfolded like the dance of flames, carrying Dewdrop into a world where fire ghouls embarked on enchanting adventures beneath the starlit canopy. The lavalamp's liquid glow echoed the story's rhythm, creating a tranquil ambiance that embraced them both in the comforting warmth of the fire-themed haven.
He softly carressed Dew's cheek, as Dew softly purred while the quintessential ghoul recounted his story. As Aether continued his tale, the bond between them deepened, and the room became a haven where the warmth of the story and the glow of the lava lamp melded into a soothing lullaby, cradling Dewdrop in the arms of sweet dreams.

I thought playing Obscura would help me get rid of my brain worms. no, it just gave me new ones. For Obscura, specifically.
Tumblr media
I'll be adjusting the format from my TOUCHSTARVED expanded thoughts post. Brain dump after the cut!
[Demo/CH 1 spoilers are included]
(Header Image from Itch.io page! All images in this post are either from there or the Rotten Raccoons tumblr page)
Design/gameplay thoughts:
In full honesty without fluff: this game fucks immensely.
The setting for Obscura might be my new all-time favorite, like, ever. Mystery underground scandalous marketplace??? Under a mountain???? it's a diverse and vast city that's still elegantly contained and claustrophobic, but in a spicy way. The worldbuilding and flavor is excellent. I really want to run a TTRPG in a similar setting now, since its an area with so many possibilities.
CH. 1/the "demo" has a LOT of meat on it. It's got different endings, variations, a whole soundtrack. Speaking of sountrack-
Obscura is also one of the few games I've put on the soundtrack to just to vibe to. The soundtrack is SO good, and sets such a strong mood/tone. I think it complements the game perfectly.
Allot of people have mentioned it, but I am also a fan of the Safeword pause menu. It's a nice and comforting touch, especially when the game can get so intense. It lets players take a breather if they need it, but also doesn't interrupt the intensity/mood of the game for someone who doesn't want a break from the narrative.
Now, onto character specific thoughts!
Cirrus:
Tumblr media
IN MY HOUSE WE DON'T BELIEVE IN NOT STARTING OUT STRONG
Shout outs for having your asexual option in the dating sim be. The kinkiest guy there
Cirrus is a bit too intense for me, however, that is NOT a bad thing in the slightest. I think his route is well done for those who are up for his brand of intensity.
I might still play his route because. damn this boy's issues got me curious about his backstory. ($10 on mommy issues)
I had the hardest time getting to Cirrus's good end during my playthrough because having pretty much any self-preservation instinct around Cirrus gives you a bad/neutral ending. He's the only one I had to pull the guide out to get the best ending. (I think I'm just too sassy)
I get medusa vibes from Cirrus. The snake imagery is more likely tied to the lunar church, but his staunch reluctance to take his own mask off makes me wonder (this is mainly referenced in asks answered by the Rotten Raccoon studios). Refusal to let people see his eyes + snakes + power + slightly unnatural abilities to influence is, something.
I am shaking this man like a snowglobe WHAT IS YOUR DEAL I MUST KNOW MORE
(I am. metaphorically shaking him like a snowglobe. I would never shake this man im terrified)
CONCLUSION: Most likely to shame you for your anime choices. Least likely to be normal about it when you ask for help peeling an orange.
Keir:
Tumblr media
HERE COMES BIG MAN
yeah he's tied for favorite right now. the slow burn in his plot is just too good? big man....freckles...secret soft side...im weak
he's so nice I keep forgetting. He kind of kidnaps you? not even kind of he just drags you off the street and goes "you live in my house now". Even Griff calls MC a stray early on. My man really said "Here's a convenient lost human I'm dragging them home now"
oh my GOD they were ROOMATES
I definitely was too nice to him in my first playthrough until I realized he does need (and want) to be sassed to death.
this man is like 6'6 and the canon-ish Vesper height from the CG is 5'4. THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE. This kills the man (me)
The sprite of Keir's ears blushing SENDS ME INTO A FRENZY
I quite liked the gameplay style of Keir's route. I was so focused and invested as soon as I realized I needed to remember specific directions to save the heist group during timed decisions
Something I haven't seen discussed yet: I'm mega curious about the dagger Keir has on his outfit. It's specifically pointed out in text that it's high-quality, and I vaguely remember an ask that Rotten Raccoons answered that said it's a status symbol. (The dagger also just looks SO cool. and....it looks like Francesco's...?)
(My bet is that he either 1. stole it. or 2. got it from Oleander during their tryst (WHICH WE ALSO NEED TO TALK ABOUT-))
CONCLUSION: Most likely to be gifted a "WORLD'S BEST DAD" mug from his similarly-aged peers. Least likely to live down that one time he ate soap because he thought it was edible.
Francesco:
Tumblr media
someone keep the "silver dust" away from this lad im scared
Originally, I was least looking forward to playing Francesco's route since I just wasn't interested in his initial concept. After playing his route though? It was excellently done, and I genuinely had fun. It was refreshing to have a character more naive than Vesper, so more cultural aspects were explained and we got a good alternate perspective on the marketplace. Also, it got REAL spicy in new and exciting ways the other chapters didn't. I'm really looking forward to the next chapters with his route!
I totally love the contrasts in his design and his character. He's got both bright red and blue highlights in his design, his outfit is very pointy and angular while his hair/smile is soft and flow-y.
And in his personality, he's both sweet and open, but extremely cagey about some information, and quite pragmatic when he wants to be. I think he's way smarter than he lets on.
that doesn't mean I don't want to bridal carry him and tuck him into bed at night after a all-nighter party
I do think Fran's slightly looser demeanor could lead to him being even more brutal than the other LI's. Remember that one anime clip (Found it, it's this one from Danshi Koukousei) where a group of friends wants to fight for fun, but one of the friends asks why they need rules in a fight? And said friend is shown like secretly holding a rock and was ready to use it? that's Fran. He would not have chill and does not heed the rules.
"Protect the boy", but mostly to prevent him from tasting blood. Because if that happens we're all fucked
CONCLUSION: Most likely to eat that M&M off the ground because you dared him. Least likely to beat the puppy allegations.
Oleander:
Tumblr media
Oleander is tied for favorite with Keir. Oleander is just *chefs kiss* LOOK AT HIM. inscrutable......
Somewhere in an ask answered by Rotten Raccoons studio, they mentioned that for Oleander's route, they were going for a "Sexy boss situation that doesn't feel like a work safety violation". They hit that right on the nose; there's intrigue and a power imbalance, but in a non-restrictive or terrifying way.
I love being involved in the business part of his route. I keep making decisions like "Hmm yes my primary goal is to romance Oleander. But what would be the smartest business move here? How do we advance our agenda?"
Also, I do love playing a sexy evil secretary in a vn. love having a job and being evil at it AND being paid money. 10/10
That dance scene is everything I could have ever wanted no notes
I am fascinated to find out more about what he's been up to since his last trek into the marketplace. Seems like people are trying to kill him all the time anyway, so what would be enough to cause him to leave?
he's like an angler fish, but the lure is his booba
I relate to Oleander in that. I have too many online usernames because I can't stick with one. People get my 800 online names mixed up often. He has the same problem, we're basically twinsies
This man is pretending to be a himbo like his life depends on it (It probably does). He's too smart though, I know for a fact he has at least three different schemes going at any given time.
CONCLUSION: Most likely to be able to help you properly lace a corset (this man knows the boot-to-the-back necessity of the process). Least likely to be allowed to be banker during monopoly night.
Vesper:
Tumblr media
black mask enjoyer 4 life
(all three are good I just wanted to say which one I picked. And to add my conclusion section)
CONCLUSION: Most likely to get their shit rocked by a falling piano. Least likely to survive an argument about pineapple on pizza.
Concerns:
With how separate the four routes are, the game could potentially feel like four separate visual novels all in one universe. Maybe I haven't played enough VN's, but there is a feeling of separation between the routes.
In the very beginning of the game, when you're picking your route, I wish there was a bit more heads up/information between who you're picking. For example, I had a rough idea that going into the church is where you'd find Cirrus, but only from information outside the game. I didn't know sticking around for the brawl would push you into Kier's route. It's overall pretty vague to which route you're going based on only in-game information.
Misc thoughts:
Vesper: "How are you going to keep me?? ;)" Keir and Oleander: "crimes" Vesper: "Wh-" Keir and Oleander: "you're an accomplice now congrats we're in this together. wanna get drinks"
catch my socially anxious ass wanting to be under the mountain and wear masks so I don't have to make eye contact with strangers all the time. at least its a fun thought to have when I mask for covid
OKAY FRANCESCO AND KEIR'S DAGGER MATCH? AND ARE RED/BLUE LIKE FRANCESCOS OUTFIT? DOES IT MEAN ANYTHING??? probably not but I do like the pretty knives....
Tumblr media
For real, I got the brain worms for this game, I'm on the edge of making a big ol playlist. the headcannons? They go on my friend. they go on. I'm laying awake at night thinking about what each character would order at a coffee shop
by the time I publish this post. I did start working on the playlist
yes, I've also designed my own vesper, its such a prime opportunity for character design.
Obscura also may or may not have inspired me to get involved with an otome jam game team, more on that in the future possibly.....
OVERALL: I got the first chapter/demo of Obscura for free from Itchio/steam. High marks for writing, sound, art, game design, all of it! I am on the edge of my seat waiting for CH2.
TL;DR: If you haven't played it, and love spicy and dark stories, go play it! Part one is free! and fantastic.

OBSCURA: Trailer Analysis
SPOILERS AHEAD!!
In the trailer/video that goes with Chapter One of OBSCURA (Here. Watch it on your own, sub to Rotten Raccons) is PACKED with details and all sorts of information. Let's start with the first thing we see when the video starts.
Cirrus:
Tumblr media
This is a snippet of Cirrus' CG in game with some things added. The text in the top left is what we're interested in. "18. presbyter//ecclesia lunaris" What does the number mean? Well if we take it in terms of Major Arcana for Tarot cards. the moon in number 18.(XVIII) Fitting for the lunar priest, but the deeper meaning also fits. Usually meaning hidden danger or enemies, deception to darker forces at play. Then we have the Latin. If we take the dashes and an indication of a break, then the translation is roughly "Preist// height of the moon" But if we take it as one sentence it translates to "Priest of the Lunar Church" Keir:
Tumblr media
Again, staring with the number. 20 (XX) is Judgement. I find this fascinating. With obvious associations to justice, scales, balance etc it;s an interesting connection that I wouldn't have originally thought of to Keir but it fits well. The card itself means reflection, reckoning and awakening. Usually taking a look at oneself to see where an imbalance lies so you can fix it and move forwards while reversed can mean a lack of self-awareness, doubt and self-loathing. (yikes) The latin here is interesting too. Instead of having the dashes like everyone else, he had the latin next to the number and then a separate, less visible one at the bottom center of the screen. "Cavilator Fur" translates to "Scornful thief" and the dimmer, less noticeable word is "Cultelluss" or "knife" and it's pointing to where his dagger in on his belt.
Oleander:
Tumblr media
The Number 11 (XI) is Justice. Meaning cause and effect, clarity and truth and the reverse meaning opposite. Oleander is a character who knows the effects of his actions. They are measures and precise. He is aware of the cause and effect. And in his neutral and good endings we see him bring his own form of 'justice' or balance. When Lord Valentine tried to have him killed, he simply returned the favor personally, and succeded. "Nerii//periculosum scurra" when translated as a sentence means "A dangerous clown". This obviously references the way Vesper calls him a clown when they first meet and telling us directly that he is dangerous. Francesco:
Tumblr media
The Wheel of Fortune is what is assigned to Francesco, meaning change, cycles and inevitable fate, greater forces as play that are pushing towards and ultimate and unavoidable end. This theme goes along with theming that he is running out of time. THere is a reason for him coming to the underground, for rushing Vesper and the tailor so he can experience as much as he can. There is something pushing him forwards.
"Francisium//innocentes nobiles" At a first glance it looks like a latin version of his name, and "innocent nobiles." The second part is correct but the whole phrase means "The innocent nobles of France" which is FACINATING to say the least. The connection to France is interesting to me and brings my mind to the French revolution. Another detail I think is interesting is that his secondary outfit we see him in, the jewelry that is around his neck is right where a beheading would happen and once I saw it I couldn't unsee it.
Thats the first portion. Later in the video we get some images that flash across the screen with more latin and numbers. The numbers correspond with the numbers we were given previously. Again, in the order of how they appear in the video: Cirrus: Snake Skeleton
Tumblr media
Latin first. "Obsequium// ducit as caelum" means "compliance leads to heaven" This connects to his entire theme. To get the best end with Cirrus, you don't question him. You don't question his motives or hesitate, you just comply. The imagery of a snake skeleton is interesting too. The obvious imagery and symbolism with snakes, deceit, lies, danger. But also connections to the story of Adam and Eve. The snake that tempts Eve, causing her fall from grace.
Keir: Scales
Tumblr media
The Latin here is obscured a bit but it says "Fatum// vestrum vel extaneus" meaning "Your fate is at stake". This one leaves me wondering quite a bit. It says 'your' as if it's talking to the player, to us. To Vesper. This could tie into how Vesper is roped into Mouse Hole, how they are forced to get a noose around their neck like the rest of those living in Mouse Hole. They have to perform well in the heist that happens otherwise they risk death that comes a lot sooner than would be caused by fractum anima. They also risk the lives of Keir and those in Mouse Hole.
The imagery here is super interesting too. Scales are usually associated with justice which happens to be Oleander's tarot card. Scales, are obviously associated with balance, with equilibrium, and fair deals. While we mostly see one side of the scale it seems to be balanced. And in combination with the Latin, I think it's referring to the delicate balance that is Keir's life. A balance of his line of work being risky but lucrative, but if it's too much of a risk, he not only risks his life but all the others in Mouse Hole.
Oleander: Human Skull
Tumblr media
"Pantiantur// sicut habes" roughly translates to "Let them suffer as you have" which, WOW. OKAY. Again, Oleander delivers his own form of justice to Lord Valentine by delivering the same thing Valentine tried to do to Oleander, but more personal. Let them suffer as you have. It brings to mind the "eye for an eye" metaphor. An eye for an eye and the world goes blind. But Justice is blind is she not? The skull imagery is interesting as well. This is all painting Oleander as a very dangerous man. Charming and witty, with a flair for the dramatic, yes, but dangerous all the same. A man who can kill. In the neutral ending he says, "For now you are safe with me. If you want to stay like that, you need to follow my lead." If he doesn't have the same attachment to you as he does in the good ending, you are an asset to him and he doesn't spare you the same kindness.
Francesco: Hour Glass
Tumblr media
"Tempus//decurrit" means "time is running out". His is the shortest and simplest of the secondary ones. He is running out of time. He rushes you at the tailor to get an outfit made because he can't afford to wait. He wants to get as much as he can, done in the time he has left. No time to waste. The hourglass is the same message. Time is running out. It makes me wonder what is causing his time to run out. Here's the thing, Vesper's time is also running out with Fractum Anima, and interesting connection and it would be interesting if he also had it or something similar but I don't think that's the case with the other things we have seen. With the other things, the "innocent nobles of France" bit and the Wheel of Fortune, It feels like it's alluding to an execution to something similar. But that's purely speculation. That's it! That's what I have! (Thanks to Atlas on discord for great resources and helping me connect the dots with the numbers and tarot!!)

We've got our devlog up on itch.io, fully readable here! And here are the highlights:
Cirrus' trash draft — playable from beginning to end, but not in a state that should be played — is done!
Keir's Chapter 2 is beginning to chug along. There's about 7k of actual readable dialogue in place, and more coming.
Mugi decided to kill us all and has finished a devastatingly beautiful CG. There's a teeny-tiny peek on it up on itch.io
We've been experimenting with art commissions! You've seen the Cirrus one here on Tumblr, and here's another.
Tumblr media
And that is the update! Love you, bye! 💙🦝

mountains never done particularly well around children, he finds them quite overwhelming. getting stuck with one of his regressed pack mates is a nightmare for him, especially if he doesn't have anyone to help
stressed out cg mountain, cg Swiss, non verbal little cumulus
mountain woke up to a very clingy little cumulus today. she woke him up by jumping on him and rubbing her face all over him.
"good morning cloud" he mumbled in his barely concious state, she chirped and moved off of him so he could sit, her tail wagging a million miles an hour. she's always been one of the more hyper littles. "breakfast?" he questions, her eyes light up and she nods eagerly.
together they make their way to the kitchen, phantoms asleep at the table (again). "what would you, little cloud?" mountain asks her. she look around the room for a moment before vaguely gesturing at the cereal. "cereal? which one?" he asks, she just whined in response. "lus, which one would you like? show me honey", once again she just whines. he let's out a heavy sigh and picks which one he thinks she'd enjoy the most, he grabs a bowl and the milk and serves it up for her. he places it on the table and sits her across from where phantoms sleeping still.
"Stay here, cloudy. I'll be back in a second, alright?" mountain says before picking up phantom and carrying him to his room, he places phantom on his bed with a sigh and tucks him back in before heading back to cumulus.
cumulus is sitting at the table making a mess with her cereal, she's covered in milk, stuffing the cereal into her mouth with her hands instead of a spoon, she looks at mountain and giggles. he just stares for a moment before sighing and rubbing his face. "cmon lus? was that really necessary?" he asks in a light-hearted tone. she smiles at him with a mouth full of cereal.
he lets her finish her messy breakfast, Swiss walks in soon after and chuckles a little. "Hey big guy, want me to run her a bath?" Swiss asks with a grin, mountain just nods.
Swiss takes cumulus' hand and guides her back to her room, she babbles to him while they walk. they enter her bathroom and he starts to run the bath. "Can you undress yourself, or do you need some help storm cloud?" he asks with a soft smile. she undressed herself and he bathes her.
once she's clean again, cumulus heads off to cuddle with cirrus in her room. Swiss heads off to find mountain, he's cleaning up the last of the mess in the kitchen. he walks up behind mountain and wraps his arms around his waist. "You doing alright, big guy?" Swiss questions, mountain leans into his touch a little and nods.
uhhh I give up now, thanks for reading lmao

An (Over) Analysis Of Obscura: Cirrus
This is mostly me ranting about Cirrus' character and my opinions about him.
Spoilers ahead for Cirrus and his route ahead.
Trigger Warning: Implied abuse of power, trafficking, murder, religious themes and Sadism.
First Impressions
Cirrus is one of the main Love Interests of Obscura and he's portrayed as the "Humble Priest", which is stated in the intro of the game, the game's main page on Steam and Itch.io, and the Trailer.
Looking into Cirrus at first glance, he is shown as the "Guiding One" whenever someone comes into the Lunar Church in the Marketplace. He is the priest of the church after all, so it is his duty to provide guidance to the people who seek help or retribution.
Route and Character
[Spoilers for Cirrus' route up ahead.]
In Cirrus route, Cirrus comes off to Vesper, or the Player, as a welcoming being when we first step foot into the Lunar Church. He is seen as benevolent and open to all who comes in. But as soon as we try to engage in small talk, he almost immediately shuts it down, commenting on how mouthy Vesper is. It's safe to say Cirrus doesn't like small talk.
Looking at this interaction alone indicates how he prefers to go straight into business and not wanting to beat around the bushes. He is a busy man, after all; a priest, nonetheless. He'd rather get things over with as quickly as possible so he could move on to his next business that needs to be attended.
Moving forward with Cirrus' route, he can be pushy at times when we refuse him. For example, there is a looping sequence where if you refuse, Cirrus highly recommends to rethink our decision. And if we still refused, he says the same thing over and over again until we comply to his word.
Cirrus does not take 'no' for an answer. He wants obedience and submission and doesn't want any questions to be asked when he tells them to do something. His position in power gives him an edge compared to everyone else, so he's more of an imposing figure and will most likely pressure someone to comply, whether they like it or not.
And as we go forward into Cirrus' route, depending on our choices and interactions, the tension between Vesper and Cirrus becomes more... Intense, to say the least. Cirrus has a way of building up that tension. He comes off to Vesper as a welcoming and Humble Priest, like we see him in the beginning, but slowly demonstrates his dominance and power over others.
And when I say "dominance", I say it as in an intimidation tactic. Cirrus uses his power to influence our choices; quite literally when the choices are:
"Yes."
"Yes."
"No." "Yes."
At some point in the game. In other words, we have no choice but to accept him. And this is seen strongly during our first timed choices. The timed choices gives us pressure to choose and makes us panic. And depending on which option you choose, it can result in multiple bad endings if you're not careful.
But if you manage to get to the path leading to his neutral or good ending, his presence is still intimidating to us as the player. And that dominance seen clearly in his CG art. Comply to whip yourself, he looks down on you and watch with a sadistic smile. Don't comply; he does the whipping himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here, we see him towering above Vesper, making them look small in comparison to his already talk stature. He looks down with a grin. The lighting of the scene makes him look malicious compared to when we first meet him.
Cirrus may be known as the "Humble Priest" when in actually, he is the "Sadistic Priest" once you play his route.
After the initial whipping scene, it can go either way depending on your choices, he could either help you on finding the Lunar Ichor cure or get rid of you as soon as possible.
The Endings and Intimacy Points
I won't do each ending because there's a lot of endings but I will talk about how Cirrus handles the situation in the endings. There are two categories of Cirrus' route endings: Help and Remove.
If I remember correctly, Cirrus has two Help Endings.
The neural and good ending tells us that Cirrus sees us as someone who's worthy of his time and energy to lend a helping hand in finding the Lunar Ichor. The Help Endings tells us that Cirrus will only give us help if we show him he has power and we submit to him. If we are willing to give him power over us, he will provide us with the answers we need. He is a priest, after all. He is there to provide to those who seek help and guidance.
And then we have the Remove Endings. As what it implies, there are many ways for Cirrus to "remove" us from his presence. One of which we remove ourselves from him all together if we have chosen one of the timer options. Going back to Cirrus, he has other ways of removing us from him, which are literal back stabbing (murder on the spot), and selling us off to someone else.
If he sees us as someone who's unworthy of his time and energy, he won't hesitate to get rid of you. It is "out of sight, out of mind" for him. He is a priest, after all. He has other important matters to attend to.
And when it comes down to his Intimacy Points, you just gain a perfect 6/6 when getting his best ending. If not, you're automatically on the neutral and bad endings. The points tells us that Cirrus prefers perfection and has high standards when it comes to devotion. It's either him or not when it comes to his standards on you.
He's the "You're either with me or against me".
Design
When it comes to Cirrus' design, he has subtle hints that he is not all that he seems to be.
Tumblr media
If we look carefully into his design, we see a lot of snake imagery on his priest robes. Snakes are often associated with evil or the devil in Christian Mythology. The snake also represents deception, trickery, and manipulation, which is also seen in the story of Adam and Eve, where Eve is tricked by a snake, who is the devil, into eating the forbidden fruit.
Cirrus is a priest; a follower of the Lunar God, nonetheless. The star pattern on his blue scarf and crescent moon brooch indicates his worship of the Lunar God. But he doesn't act like how a priest should be like as we progress into his route. The snakes on his robes may have been a foreshadowing as to who Cirrus really is.
Moving on to Cirrus' himself, in all of his sprites, he stands straight up with his shoulders square and chest out. Here are some examples of his sprites as reference.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is not seen slouching or hunched over in any of his sprites. He stands straight and tall. It gives him a kind of presence that tells us that he is a very important person, as to which is is. His posture, along with his already tall height, adds to his intimation and dominance over us as Vesper.
A proper posture for someone who must be seen as nothing but perfection. His statues as a priest also comes into play here.
As a follower of the Lunar God, and quite possibly the closest thing to the Lunar God themselves, Cirrus must be seen something similar to a God. He must be perfect in everything. From how he stands, the way his clothes are fitted, the way his hair is styled, even the design of his mask.
He is seen as someone who's other worldly, given the fact he's much paler in comparison to the other Love Interests. His white hair also gives him a somewhat glow to his figure. He is, in other words, ethereal to look at.
And finally, his mask's design. The mask is simple in design, but it's also eye catching enough with it's intricate lines that makes us look at his face more than anything else on him. The mask is eye catching enough for us to pay close attention to him more, which gives him an advantage when conversing with us, and possibly manipulate our decisions.
Conclusion
Cirrus is a complex character that has many layers to him. He is cunning in deceiving the player and manipulate our choices. He is a master with his way of building the tension between him and Vesper as the route progress and how we see him go from the "Humble Priest" to the "Sadistic Priest". I'm sure there's still more about his character I've most likely skimmed over. But this is what I've managed to gather so far about him and his character in his route. And so far, he's terrifying yet fascinating to study on.

something ive been struggling a lot with is regressing as a disabled person im wondering if you were able to write a fic with some comfort revolving around that? like little rain or really anyone regressing and being upset about their bodies not being like the other regressors who can run around and play as much as they want while they have to really pace themself to not overdo it and get hurt. maybe a little bit of crying and them accidentally getting hurt but a whole lot of comfort?
it's not that good, not as much comfort as I wanted to write but I'm afraid I can't do better now. I hope it's still okay <3
1145 words, little rain (she/her), chronic illness flare up, pain and crying, then comfort, guest appearance from little phantom and cg swiss, cg mountain, cg aether, cg dewdrop
Rain wasn’t feeling the best the last few days. His POTS was flaring up—he’s been having at least two episodes a day—as well as his pain. His whole body was hurting, joints dislocating over and over again.
It was in times like these that Rain remembered he was actually disabled, that it wasn’t just a funny quirk.
He wasn’t taking it the best, never was. Rain was regressed most of the time of the flare up, which only made her more sensitive and emotional about the whole ordeal.
She woke up—day five—in Mountain’s arms. The night before he made her his pain relieving tea, helped her drink it before bed and then curled around her as they fell asleep. Rain started to squirm slightly, limbs a bit numb, and soon enough Mountain woke up too. “Mhm… g’mornin’, Petal. How’r you feelin’?”
“Still liddol, Mounty,” she whined, burrowing her face in the earth ghoul’s chest. “Still hurts.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry, baby,” Mountain cooed, running his hands through Rain’s hair. She wiggled some more, snuggling up to the giant as he wrapped his arms all around her tight. They laid like that some more, neither of them eager to get up, until Rain mumbled something into Mountain’s skin. “Hm, what was that, Petal?”
“Need pee,” she repeated, blushing lightly. Mountain chuckled, letting go of her.
“Do you need help? Want me to walk you to the bathroom?”
“Uhm… dunno yet,” Rain threw her legs over the edge of the bed, head spinning just a little, and holding on to the frame she tried to stand. She did manage to do that, but the two or three steps she took were extremely wobbly. Mountain was by her side in a second, arm loosely curled around her waist.
“Hate dis,” she muttered, lips pouty and eyes glassy.
“I know, baby. I know.”
The earth ghoul left Rain alone in the bathroom, waiting for the door to open again. Once it did, they went back to bed. Rain let Mountain dress her and not long after, he scooped her up in his arms and they left the giant’s room to hunt for some breakfast.
They came across Dewdrop, Cirrus and Sunshine in the common room, everyone cooing over Rain, kissing her forehead in hello. Rain always liked attention, but not the patronizing and pitiful kind. When regressed, though, and in as fragile a state as she was in currently, she appreciated all of it.
“Do you want scrambled eggs, cereal or oatmeal, Angelfish?” Dewdrop asked. “Or maybe something else?”
“Uhm… I fink eggs, p’ease.”
“Got it,” the fire ghoul ruffled Rain’s hair and disappeared into the kitchen to make eggs for her. In the meantime Aurora, Cumulus and Aether came down, everyone greeting Rain with a kiss again, Aether’s laced with quintessence. It gave her enough of an energy boost to move from the couch to the table and eat her eggs and toast on her own.
Swiss walked into the commons next, Phantom hanging off of his back like a silly, sleepy backpack. He dropped them onto Cumulus’ lap, and her immediate pampering made them wake up and start purring.
Rain spent the next half an hour in Aether’s arms, with her legs in Dewdrop’s. The quintessence ghoul was relieving her pain as much as he could, the fire ghoul’s warmth helping with her lower limbs. She wasn’t feeling well, but it currently wasn’t as bad as it could be, both mentally and physically.
Worsening came with Phantom’s seemingly endless energy. After devouring their cereal for breakfast they shot up and crouched by Rain, head tilted to the side and a big smile on their face. “Rainyyyy, wanna p– play outside, d’ya wan’ go wiv m– me? We can run to de lake or– or in de garden!”
“Kid, Rainy ca–” Aether started, but got cut off by Rain’s loud whine as she curled up and hid in his neck. He felt wetness on his skin and the little shakes of Rain’s body, as well as her scent souring, told him she was crying. “Oh, Tadpole.”
“Oh… w– what’d I do?” Phantom mumbled, tears filling their own eyes. “Why Rainy so sad?”
“Hey, Batling, it’s not your fault,” Dewdrop assured, scooting closer to Aether and Rain to add some comfort. “She’s just not feeling well.”
“You can still play, though, I’ll go with you, okay?” Swiss walked in, nodding to Dewdrop at the silent plea in his eyes.
“Okay…” Phantom agreed, even if still a bit upset. They grabbed Swiss’ hand and let themself be led out of the room. Rest of the ghouls hid in the kitchen.
“Hey, Angelfish,” the fire ghoul whispered to Rain when Phantom’s giggles got quiet in the distance. “Can you look at me? Please?”
Reluctantly, Rain shifted so she’d be able to look at Dew with one eye. He reached out and with a kind, sympathetic smile wiped a few tears from her flushed cheek. “I know, baby, you’d like to go play with them. I’m so sorry you can’t.”
“I don’ like dis,” Rain sobbed, “don’ like when I can’t do fings.”
“We know, Tadpole,” Aether sighed. There wasn’t anything better to say, really. “Do you want us to take you back to bed? Maybe some cuddles will make you feel at least a bit better?”
Rain nodded, and Dewdrop pulled away to stand. Aether adjusted his grip on her and got up too, taking on the direction of the fire ghoul’s room right away. He knew Rain liked it the best there, it was always warm and smelled nice. Dewdrop didn’t follow immediately, and Rain thought she heard him talking to Mountain before running after her and Aether.
Soon enough she was put down in that cozy bed and she straightened and stretched, whining at the strain her curled up position already caused.
“Alright, where do you want us, Angelfish?” Dewdrop asked, sitting on the edge of the bed, hand gentle on Rain’s knee.
“Uhm… can I… can I lay on your chest?”
“Of course, baby,” he smiled. “Lemme get in position.”
And Dewdrop did, crawling to the top of the bed and laying down against the mountain of pillows by the headboard. Once he was done, he patted his chest in invitation. Rain took it and wiggled up to take her spot. “What about Aeth, Rainy?”
“Hm, Aef, you can… behind me an’ help my back?”
“I absolutely can,” the quintessence ghoul assured and laid behind her just as she asked, a big hand landing on the small of her back. He pulled a blanket over the three of them and started to slowly pump some quintessence into Rain.
“Da’s nice,” she mumbled and little purr wanted to break its way free. “Fank you.”
“No problem at all, Tadpole.”
“We love you so much, Angelfish.”
“Love you too.”

If we were all airplanes
If I were an airplane, I would be a Cessna 182. Because it “drinks” a bit, but it’s a trustworthy, sturdy airplane. If I were an airplane, I would be the Cessna 182 because it is simple and obvious but delivers what it promises and rarely lets you down. You can’t say it’s pretty, but it won’t scare you with its looks. It’s not nimble, but it climbs well and doesn’t need much runway to take off…
If I were an airplane, let me be a little more specific about it: I’d be a 1970 Cessna Skylane with partly bald tires and in need of a new paint, but with a well working engine bolted to it. I’d still fly with all the original parts, except for the “brains” in the panel, which would be updated, ADS-B equipped and all. I’d be a no-damage-history, always-hangared Cessna 182; an airplane built in the old days, but functional and ready for the new times.
My mother would be a Boeing 727, with its gracious, clean wings, and three engines for better redundancy of care. She would be a classical machine, the most beautiful of her time. One that to this day still soldiers on, working hard, stable and true. My mom would be a 727 because it is the most beloved airplane that I know of. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like the Boeing 727; I’d risk saying that there is no other airplane as universally loved. Not even the Bonanza…
“That charming, beautiful girl that turns heads wherever she goes.”
The Beechcraft Bonanza would be that charming, beautiful girl that turns heads wherever she goes. The Bonanza, were it a person, would be a traffic-stopping woman, one you look and then look again, in awe. It is truly inspiring to admire the perfect shapes of the Bonanza—she seems structurally overbuilt, her landing gear is aesthetically perfect and… look at that tail!
But be aware, the Bonanza is not perfect. That sexy tail and the flawless harmony of the wing, positioned well forward on the fuselage, make it rather easy to drive her out of her CG range. You have to be careful when loading the Bonanza, or she might become twitchy and temperamental. She is beautiful, performs well, and is quite comfortable, but don’t push her; she is not a cargo airplane.
My best friend, that’s the cargo airplane. My best friend would be one of those C-130 Hercules, an ugly, ungainly monster that drinks from four cups at a time and makes a helluva noise, just the way we like it. The Hercules is not subtle, but subtlety is not what you want from him. And just like a good friend, he can take it all; he carries a lot of weight, he flies for a very long time, he endures extreme weather and extremely harsh environments. He is just there for you, always, come what may.
My father would be the DC-3. The Douglas DC-3, the old retired warrior—we owe so much to this airplane! He was built in a way that no other airplane is ever going to be built. He was the king of the skies in his time and opened up most of the routes we fly today. He still flies, but not for profit anymore, only as an attraction at gatherings, where everyone is glad just to see him there, to seat under his historic wings, to listen to his old engines roar and to pay homage to this venerable champion.
My brother would be a Cessna 172, which looks a lot like the182 (that’s me) and even though it is older, more versatile, and more popular than me, it makes me feel bigger than I really am when we’re side by side.
A hangar queen, but in a good way.
My sister would be one of those pampered hangar queens, the little airplane that the family is overprotective of and thinks nobody is good enough to fly her. A shiny Cessna 140, or a Luscombe 8, for example. “Don’t touch her! You’ll leave greasy fingerprints on her polished fuselage!”
It would be an interesting world if we all were airplanes. But in many aspects, it would not be very different from what it is today. After all, what do we all want? To find our soulmate, our travel partner.
Just as it is with us as human beings, our airplane soulmate would not necessarily have to fly tight formation with us all the time. That would increase the risks and might end up transforming a possible long and happy flying life together into a tiring and energy-consuming precision maneuver. The airplane soulmate would be one to fly along with you, to share flying stories with you and to build a great logbook of memories with you. And then park next to you in the hangar, waiting for the next flight.
So how would my perfect airplane-soulmate be? She would be sweet, well rigged, and properly balanced. She would win my heart with her honesty of character and her readiness to remind me, at my smallest slip, that she deserves the best of care and that she will not tolerate complacency. She would be trustworthy and equipped with generous wings to help me guide her through the skies for a very long time, in safety, for better or worse.
And of course, she would have to be pleasant to my eyes, to be beautiful to me.
I think my “dream girl,” the one that would change my life with a swing of her propeller and for whom I’d trade my ailerons for spoilers… that should be a brand new TBM 940, with all her French charm.
But then again, a Piper Malibu, a TTX or a Cirrus would not be bad at all…

Note
So sorry if you've gotten this question before! I looked through the asks tag but couldn't seem to find it. Regardless, I don't mean to take up your time!
I noticed that in the official trailer on itch.io, (and in the intro when I open the game) each character is listed with what initially looks like a scientific name and a diagram with their chapter one CGs. Keir and Francisco's names are either a one to one exact copy of the names they use in game or very close, in Francesco's case.
With Oleander and Cirrus, both characters that have more reason to use fake names (because it's said in game the Oleander frequently changes his name for his ~*mystique*~ and Vesper speculates that Cirrus' name is likely not his true name, but still says a lot about him,) they have different names. Cirrus is called "Presbyter" which from a quick google search means "elder or minister (most often of a church)" and Oleander is listed as "Nerii" which, from looking up the wikipedia page for the "Daphnis Nerii," also called the //Oleander// hawk-moth. So, I was wondering (if it isn't spoilers to answer) if their true names have been right under our noses this whole time? With Oleander possibly being named Nerii and Cirrus possibly being named Presbyter?
Also, their titles of a sort are listed after their names in what might be latin(?), with Cirrus' "Ecclesiae Lunaris" meaning (from google translate, mind you, I haven't done a deep dive into latin) "a formal congregation of believers of the moon;" Keir's "Cavillator Fur" meaning "one who jeers or mocks a theif(?);" Oleander's "Perriculosum Scurra" meaning "Dangerous clown" (or more likely in this case, "Dangerous Showman;" and Francisco's (Franciscum's) "Innocentes Nobiles" meaning, unsurprisingly, "Innocent Noble."
I just wanted to point this out and ask about it because I really appreciate all the work that has gone into this VN- it's one of the best that I've ever read, and that alongside the beautiful art (the sprites and of the stunning backgrounds, the music that perfectly sets the tone...) and it really is such a breathtaking visual novel. This has- no joke, taken over my brain since I found it three, four days ago, and I couldn't be more happy about it. The work you do is phenomenal.
On a more personal note, too, Cirrus has very much captured my attention, and although I usually don't like to sub all that much, the sheer //intimacy// of scenes with him has me sold on his route. I also love how he holds Vesper to a higher standard- looking through the player guide, all of the other three LIs all have good endings that don't necessarily require getting the maximum affection, bur Cirrus' best ending does require maximum affection (there are, of course, ways to slip up and make up for it later, as stated in the guide, but still.) (That's not to say I don't like the other LI's, they absolutely have my attention, but I do have a favourite, ahaha)
The safeword menu is very much appreciated, and I do so love always having that option of backing out without having to close the game altogether.
OH ALSO I happen to have noticed more things while rewatching the trailer Each character has a number corresponding to them. Cirrus has the number 18, Keir has the number 20, Oleander has the number 11, and Francesco has the number 10. Later on in the trailer, after the character introductions, each of these numbers flashes again, connected to a title and a subtitle. For 18, the latin connected to Cirrus, it says "obedience", with the subtitle meaning, from a quick google translate, "sweet to heaven." For 20, the latin connected to Keir, it says "fate," with the subtitle meaning, "yours or a stranger" For 11, the latin connected to Oleander, it says "patiently" with the subtitle meaning "as you have" and for 10, connected to Francesco, it says "time" with the subtitle meaning "runs" I can guess that this is connected to their routes somehow, because Cirrus values obedience from Vesper, and he //is// a priest. I'm actually not sure about Keir or Oleander's stuff, but Francesco is acting with a certain amount of urgency, so I assume it has to do with him trying to get the full "experience" as it were before he has to take on the family business. Either way, I love love love the details in the trailer, it's absolutely wonderful to pause to try to catch the little things (Also, as an addendum to my last ask, I am not realizing that Keir's title likely means "sarcastic thief," and I might've taken the translation too literally) Obscura has given me a Catagory Five Autism Moment, and that is absolutely a complement! Great work!
So I showed all this to Mugi, who did those images for the trailer, and she was thrilled to see this analysis!!
