- changed his name in 2005 and is the only non neutral in the household

- the one who owns the house (used to be a lab) everyone lives in

- infamous in the science community for dropping a technological revelation every couple of years and then disappearing

- he and Megatron are the ones mostly taking care of the pets

- is the least online in the household, and goes outside the most

- has only gotten more unhinged ever since he was melted

Thundercracker

- likes to create all sorts of art, experiments a lot, currently into sewing, but who knows what’s next? Felting? Glass art?

- well liked with netizens because of his redemption story and loves the internet

- the bigger simp in the relationship, they got human married for fun in 2016 when gay marriage was legalized

- in charge of PR for everyone, including the Autobots sometimes

Skywarp

- Lives in Jetfire and TCs basement and is messy and loud

- twitch streamer, problematic due to him being kind of dumb (gets tricked by chat a lot)

- tricked Megatron into signing marriage papers because he felt left out when TC got married (and then forgot about this)

- used to live in the attic but was so loud during streaming he was forced to swap with Megatron in the basement

- is actually filthy rich, paid the entire mortgage

- the pets least favorite bot :((

Megatron

- misses fighting in the war but living in the attic is… ok

- edits for Thundercracker when he writes

- all of the pets favorite, no one is happy about this (except Megatron)

- is mostly unknown to the public, is under house arrest because of his war crimes for now. Does not feel too guilty about his crimes

- due to him being unemployed he is the household maid

- on the internet the most, cyberbullies Optimus Prime with alt accounts

- doesn’t know he’s legally married

I'd seen a comment that the finalized design for Venom seems to have an unbuttoned shirt when compared to the buttoned vest of the concept art from the S4 trailer (which had leaked unfortunately), so maybe that's where the confusion might be coming from. Does make me curious how often they change a detail like that so close to model work being done, given so much of Strive's concept art (at least the ones I've seen) does tend to match what we get in the final game.

I must've blocked the correct amount of people because the last character leak I knew about was the Slayer one that was like a whopping 12 hours or something before the actual reveal anyway lol

We were actually talking about concept art through alpha then beta designs in the wiki server yesterday!! It's really interesting how far some concepts made it in the timeline before getting changed. @shmuelbrain dug these up.

Elphelt from the 3rd location test for Xrd Sign (late 2013?) still had a pink clover on her ear that she's got in her concept art (it got changed to green in the final release):

Sol's outfit changed pretty late in Sign's development too. The story preview they showed there had an interesting saturated color filter. I like it, but the more natural colors in the final version definitely look/read better. From the 3rd loc test.

We were musing over what could have made them change their minds about Sol's outfit for the story that late into development and decided that it was possible his arm anatomy kept bugging during animation so they gave him sleeves to hide it lol

Sol's story mode outfit (with the longsleeve jacket) seems to be a light reworking of the outfit he had in the Xrd prototype from 2011 (!!). He's on the right in this screenshot, but the imposter on the left's outfit is really similar too

The Xrd prototype design fascinates me because it's essentially a 3D version of Sol's Vastedge XT design. He's even got the Junkyard Dog Mk.II in the prototype build. The design there is 1:1 to its design in VXT.

Note: The neon colors here are placeholders, it doesn't actually have that bright cyan in Vastedge.

The Xrd prototype/Vastedge design is cool because you can still see elements of it in Sol's Strive outfit. They tightened up his silhouette and made things like the gloves/hands read easier, but it's almost possible to argue that this is likely the same jacket. They've been tweaking this for at least 14 years!!

It's tricky to figure out this stuff for most of the cast, but Sol's design changes are really well documented. I think he's usually the first character they make for games, so he's usually their graphics and gameplay test dummy

I’m not really what you’d call a fan of Poppy Playtime, but Chapter 3 has me in a chokehold.

Like, there’s a seven year old child who was either abandoned by his parents or lost them, experiencing trauma at such a young age, only to be experimented on and isolated and traumatized further at the place he was supposed to go to be safe. And his only friend is a metal monster, full or wires and possibly meat. Just horrifying. But it’s the only friend this kid has. And this monster loves him.

This monster loves him enough that, when this child is mortally wounded during their joint escape attempt, he saves his life and brings him to the doctors, instead of taking the opportunity to get away from the torture he, himself had been enduring. The Prototype could have left Theodore behind but decided to save him anyway. Because he did care about him.

And The Prototype has to sit by while his best friend is twisted and turned into a monster, just like him. And has to sit by while Theodore recovers in an underground prison, only allowed out to use his new red smoke to cause the other children terror in their sleep. It must have felt so hopeless for both of them until the hour of joy, where they could, in their pain and rage, finally stop the horror being inflicted on them and on the children and other experiments. Sure, some of the staff were innocent for sure, but to them it mattered more that the suffering finally ended.

Together, for an entire decade, they protect each other after that. Of course Catnap sees The Prototype as a god. He’s the only good he’s ever had in the world.

And then, when the main character injures Catnap and he’s on the verge of death again, the Prototype has to make the choice to save him once again. Only this time there’s no doctor to make him a new body. He has to join the Prototype’s instead. They probably both thought that day would come eventually, but the pain they probably both felt, when that skeletal, metal hand ripped through Catnap’s brain, must have been heart breaking.

I just have so much emotional brainrot about the two of them and I’m inconsolable.
