Aqw’s Structure of Existence Theory Pt1
This is probably going to be wrong in some way but its an attempt to make sense of the confusing structure of the in-game universe and the current power hierarchy in a way that makes sense at least to me. Plus some theories and personal thoughts thrown in to explain where I’m going with things.
All written on the diagram for dnd planes since i felt it had the same structure of realms at the time of writing
Tumblr media
(this is half way written, so 2 parts now and the others later)
Material Plane
Since things seems to be centered on just Lore alone and not any other planet (if there is any, idk if thats the thing that carried over from Mechquest and Lore is the only planet with life left — didn’t play Mechquest and probably won’t just for this). Our Lore, Underworld, and Celestial Realm and their Mirror Realm counterparts seem to be two sides of the some coin that are equally affected by the influence of the Elementals Planes in a seesaw manner (this was shown in the Mirror Realm events and Mirror!Drakath’s mission of maintaining the balance of the worlds).
It hasn’t been shown how the Avatars and Elemental Planes interact with the Mirror Realm yet but it hasn’t been stated yet if Mirror!Gravelyn and Mirror!Artix are Champions, only Mirror!Drakath. Which is very fucking curious, like are they use powerful mages of the opposite element? would they be the one exception to the 'everything is opposite' rule and use the same element? Assuming theres aren’t duplicate Champions in the Mirror Realm to balance out the ones in Lore, then we could assume that the Planes treat it as the same as Lore and there are Champions living in the Mirror Realm (like the missing current Champions/Envoys of Air, Energy, and Earth and other child element Champions/Envoys ((maybe not Energy depending on whats going to happen in RoCT))), which would balance out the number on Lore currently.
The Celestial Realm and Underworld are included in the Material Planes since they’re technical physical locations on Lore and can be accessible by traveling there, don’t have any strong connection to any Elemental Plane (and that included Darkness with the Underworld since its just the preferred element to cast necromancy with in Greenguard and Dage’s), and also have counterpart locations in the Mirror Realm.
Basically, it’s a flat Lore theory and the game takes places on a frisbee flying through space /j.
Lesser gods native to Lore are fun. There’s 3 confirmed ones at the moment with Fimbal, Khoine, and Aletsch, all sharing an affinity with Ice, so there’s no limit on how many gods to just one element. There are others that could be consider native gods, ie Queen of Monsters, Big Daddy and Big Mama, Death and other Grim Reapers, and Anethyx’o. There’s most likely others but I forgot them or they’re being added in.
This is on the assumption that being created/reborn with divinity and either creating a realm or being tied to one also makes them a native god, or at least a new age god of Lore. It could as be that they were just powerful enough to be seen as a god, like with Fimbal, Khoine, and Aletsch since we got surface level info about them and they could/could not have a personal realm. QoM did get reborn as a god after dying and getting shallowed by the earth, and is more of a God of Monsters rather than Chaos even if she’s credited with creating it. Anethyx’o was formed from the left over bits of power from the Reset Galanoth caused, who went on to form the Celestial Realm. Death and the other Grim Reapers would have a connection to the Underworld due to the whole cycle of souls thing, and the mere killing of Death was enough disrupt that cycle. Big Daddy and Big Mama (and their parents) counted as Gods of Love since they're in charge of love of mortals and gods, and their home is Arcadia.
Elemental Planes
Literally the most confusing part of this whole thing
Not native to Lore but has a direct connection to the Mana Core. Not on the same plane of existence as Lore and seen as intruders by the native gods, but can affect it if the balance is disrupted. There’s really not a good way of explain what a Plane is at the moment. Maybe they’re just extensions or further away areas of the Mana Core that attuned to different elements. It would explain why it can be accessed via the Planes and how they can influence Lore (like the Mana Affliction but less severe).
Champions, in my speculation, are a by product of a Plane connecting with a planet, created to be emissary of sorts for the element for that particular world. Not just Lore, but probably every planet that the Planes makes a connect with. Which brings up an interesting concept of the Avatars previously being Champions from other planets that rose to the position. It would explain why Fiamme having a human form, Tyndarius was able to be usurp the position of Avatar but couldn’t keep it since he wasn’t the Champion of Fire, and Galanoth could withstand having the power of an Avatar channeled through him. It also explains why the Avatars face bodily harm from trying to access the Timestream and possibly other realms that belong to actual gods. The one exception to this was Nulgath throwing the Worm that Walks into Adimonde’s realm, but the can be excused with the fact the portal was fueled by the Hero’s EDoT powers. (Basically gods can access other gods’ realm without consequence, but mortals trying the same face the threat of death from exhausting their life force from just opening and maintaining a portal, I think thats how it works).
All in all, Avatars were probably mortal Champions from other planets at one point — probably the absolute first ones ever — and rose to the position of Avatar by being empowered by the Plane. They probably influence the Planes to some degree due to being connected to them for so long, with the Planes becoming off balance with an Avatar’s death (this hasn’t been shown yet with Kyano and Neso being gone, but I’m sure its going to come up with RoCT). They could also be the Champions of the Planes rather than a planet, and its through that unique position they became Avatars. It doesn’t explain the whole human form of the Avatars (since I feel like they would look more elementally depowered) but would also be could explain the influence they have on the Planes
Which opens that possibility of Champions replacing an Avatar, either through overthrowing them or, in Kyanos and Neso’s case, replacing a dead one with a living one (assuming that Silencing can’t reversed and Kyanos can’t be brought back in some way). A few of the Champions currently have differing goals and morals in some way from their respective Avatars (Gravelyn using Light for Evil when Celestia had it painted as Good, Rhubarb straight up going against Neso, Artix being the definition of pure good despite Darkness being associated with evil, Galanoth stopping the fire dragons in the Fire War). They’re more as a counter balance to the Avatars and their elements have represented so far, but thats more through Lore’s influence on their lives rather than the Plane’s.
Envoys are just below Champions in terms of power and resilient to the effect of the element in my opinion, but just by a bit. They’re more of an Avatar’s Champion rather than a Plane’s Champion and theres nothing stating a Champion and an Envoy can’t exist at the same time for one element (Idk if Elius and Galanoth count for that since Tyndarius was the one to make Elius an Envoy and I don’t think he got to keep that position post Shadows of War Pt2). Of course an Envoy’s power hasn’t been put to the test against a Champion’s — either with the same element or different one.
Chaos and Order
These two don’t really fit in either but do at the same time. Chaos was created from QoM, who got the label of native god of Lore, but still got classified as an element since Drakath is technically a Champion — even if one that was made by QoM rather than chosen by a Plane. At this point there isn’t a Plane of Chaos or Order, and I wouldn’t call the Plane of Monsters that — mostly due to the fact that the one time it was called the Plane of Chaos was the Chaos War finale and since then it’s been called Plane of Monsters (as of Shadow of Chaos story arc).
My guess is that since they’re technically new elements, we might see the creation of their Planes and Drakath ascending to an Avatar if he doesn’t get ascended to godhood to add to the Hero’s rouge gallery of gods to counter them. It would be the best way to show what exactly the Planes and Avatars are without exposition from an existing Avatar.

ELEVENTH HOUR OF NIGHT, HALF WRITTEN ON PHONE, NO BETA. I FINALLY WROTE A THING AND FINISHED IT.
Hero/Drakath, Enemies to Lovers, Slowburn, NO established relationship yet, and I inserted so many headcanons about Drakath in this one enjoy.
Drakath wasn’t a stranger to finding the Hero tied up in odd situations, it could be said to be the cornerstone of their relationship. Granted he was a little more used to causing the situation and grandstanding before they somehow wormed their way out of it, but the point was that nothing should be able to surprise him when they were involved.
Except here they were. Passed out on the floor of Crownsreach’s library, book in hand as if they were mid page. Their body sprawled out on their back, taking up all available space between the bookshelves and looking like a corpse. The scene would’ve been horrifically morbid except that the Hero was gently snoring, sleeping as though they weren’t splayed out like a dead man.
Stepping forward after kicking Hero’s slightly twitching leg out of the way, Drakath scanned the bookshelves for any threats, just because the Hero seemed to be asleep didn’t mean that they weren’t attacked. They were an idiot, but they were smart enough to not fall asleep alone in a mortal enemy's home. The idea that anything managed to incapacitate the Hero here itched at him, if the threat could take out them, as reluctant as he was to admit it it could probably do the same to him.
Slowly reaching down Drakath pulled the book Hero was holding out of their hand. Carefully turning to the page they were reading he groaned.
“You’re kidding.” He said looking down at their sleeping form, “I really give you too much credit.” Kicking them in the side, they rolled over but didn’t wake.
The page detailed a sleep spell, one that was trapped to go off on an unexpecting reader. The Hero must’ve been researching something to do with Malgor and the Queen and pulled this book off the shelf. The idiot flipped to the page and cast the spell on themselves accidentally. The Hero would snooze for another four hours or so, but otherwise the spell was harmless. A dirty trick for a malicious caster to incapacitate a victim nonlethally.
As much as Drakath wanted to turn and leave them there, his mutually beneficial agreement tied his hands. The library was a long procrastinated project, its pest control floated around with no one eager to take on the job. Chances were some slinking horror still crawled around in the walls and Incarnation of Time or not the Hero wasn’t able to defend themself in this state, it would be more of a headache cleaning up the aftermath mess than it would be to just pick them up and drop them somewhere relatively safe.
Safe.
In Crownsreach.
Where no one could see that he was doing it.
Drakath contemplated his options.
If he took them to the guest rooms the same problems as the library arrived, his militia hadn’t cleared them out yet and -victims- test guests had been eaten or worse. The barracks were shot down immediately, it was too public. He’d rather die than have anyone see him doing this, gossip flew too freely and the sight of their Champion of Chaos carrying the sleeping Hero would reach Xing and Xang within minutes. Really there was only one option that would guarantee privacy but…
Some part of him, a part that he had thought he had murdered and left dead in a ditch somewhere in his cold heart spoke up. It was the same nagging that forced him to ‘sit up straight’ and ‘stay princely’ and demanded 'that he keep promises and remain at a certain level of royal decorum’. The same bullshit that his reflection cared about. And it balked at the idea of taking a sleeping acquaintance to his private room.
Which was stupid. The Hero meant nothing to him really, they were a mortal enemy he had entered into a mutually beneficial agreement with that just happened to mean that he shared his library, house, and now his private quarters with on occasion. There was no deeper meaning to that. For the Mother’s sake he didn’t even use his room anymore, once he strained his chaos magic hard enough he stopped needing most mortal needs like sleep. So long as he kept an eye on the time the Hero wouldn’t even know that they had slept there.
And it was the only option. Stealth was paramount, if he took them out of Crownsreach someone from the other members of the alliance would see the awkward situation and that would be far worse. Not only would the leaders of Good and Evil immediately assume the worst, he would be leaving the Hero to try and explain in the aftermath. Not that he really cared about them being uncomfortable but it was something that they would nag him about later.
He could make someone else deal with this, but the idea made Drakath feel… odd. In a way that he didn’t care to dissect right now. Xing and Xang were the people he picked to make situations worse, so it was useless to ask them for help, and the rest of the militia was inconsistent at best. Cemaros was loyal but blabbed and had no concept of tactfully never speaking to him about things. Ultimately the thought of the Hero being so vulnerable while he wasn’t there to keep an eye on them… It was easy to justify why it had to be him.
So really, his bedroom was the only option.
Heaving them up into his arms was simple, despite the sheer force they threw around like nothing the Hero barely weighed anything to him. With one arm around the shoulders and another under the knees it was more difficult fighting off the rising heat in his face as the bastard started curling into his hold.
“You are such an idiot,” he huffed. “And also the luckiest being on Lore, Xing and Xang would’ve loved to make fun of you for this and now I can’t tell them.”  Now the fact that the Hero was a clingy sleeper would have to join in with the other stupid things about the Hero only he knew, which was a list which was starting to grow at an alarming rate.
They looked… peaceful like this, it was an unfamiliar expression to him. He had gotten so used to their anger, smugness, and recently begrudging looks that Drakath realized he had never seen them ever just rest. Even in the downtime between world threatening catastrophes they were always chewing away at something. He wondered when they last got an opportunity to sleep like this, as if the world didn't rest on their shoulders.
He was stalling with behavior bordering on dangerous. He needed to get them to bed and out of his hands before he started thinking other sappy thoughts, them and their dumb face were doing some form of damage to him he was sure. Spreading his wings to weave a teleportation spell he resolved to break some monsters apart up in the northern lands later, the mind numbing repetitive task in the freezing cold would do wonders to clear his mind. As the magic rose and whisked the two of them off into the depths of Crownsreach a traitorous part of him wondered what quip the Hero would have to say about that.
Landing on his feet on the soft flooring of his private room Drakath breathed a sigh of relief at the silence that greeted them. Xing and Xang had a sixth sense for when he was in a compromising position, and however irrational it would seem he would never put it past them to somehow have figured out what was happening and hide out in his room to attempt to embarrass him. Which was fairly light retribution after what he did to them to be fair, but he didn't have to like it.
His room was sparse and dusty. When he was orchestrating the thirteen lords he hadn't been interested in living, working himself to the bone with no rest or need of a room, and ironically now that he was trying a little harder to live 'normally' his body didn't need sleep. So his room remained mostly unused except to store what little personal items he had. It did have a huge ornate bed in the center of the room for the sake of appearance though, just because he didn't need it and no one would see it didn't mean he would let people think he wasn't in possession of the absolute best after all.
Striding over to the bed Drakath dropped the Hero on it with a pomf and a flurry of dust. There, mutually beneficial agreement appeased, quest turned in, duty done, he could wash his hands of them and stop thinking about it. All he had to do now was keep an eye on the time and drop them back off in the library before they woke up and nobody would know of this but him. He should probably get back to work now, he had been looking to do some research of his own on the Loremasters in Crownsreach after all.
Noting the Hero's grasping hands he idly pulled a pillow over to them to clutch onto for as if for dear life. He felt jealous for a moment, looking at them resting in the absurdly expensive bed he never got an opportunity to use.
He could stay here for a moment probably. Crownsreach wouldn't fall apart if he were absent for a bit. Taking a seat at the foot of the bed he was struck by the wave of sheer exhaustion that hit him. Falling onto his back a very tired part of him wished that he were the one that was struck by that sleep spell. By the Avatars it was just so much, one thing after another and then tomorrow there was going to be more. Between managing the militia, the Queen and now Malgor he felt spent in a way he had never let himself feel while in front of that stupid gate. He hadn't felt like this since… he was in charge of his old bandit group.
For just a moment, on this massive comfortable bed with another body breathing a few feet away, Drakath felt human again, human enough to try and rest. Closing his eyes he rationalized. It's just closing my eyes. A breath in and out. Just for a few minutes before I get back to work. The Hero's steady breathing felt incredibly in sync as he started to fade.
Xing and Xang found the two of them six hours later after an incident nearly destroyed the lower wings of the castle. Still sleeping.

Howdy! I loved your headcanons of getting close to drakath from AQW. I had a question though, what would he be like romantically? I'm a softy for this guy. Have a wonderful day!
Howdy! I hope you are having a good day as well! Also i love this guy and his mirror self. Like. I would date him lol (call me a trash or whatever, but imma stand my ground)
You bring me happiness (Drakath romantic headcanons)
•what is date. How do you date. Oh god. Oh frick. Oh Lore. He has no ideas what to do with you on a date
•i mean. Drakath surely allowed you to get close enough to him, so he should also get to know you. But? He never had someone he wanted to take on a date? Help?
•this is embaracing.... Drakath wants it to be a nice suprise. But he knows just as much of a dating just like Gravelyn has will to forgive him (spoilers: literally none)
•he would ask his right hand, Cemeros, for an advice, but this woman is really not taking anything seriously
•well...maybe? If you actually like him? He just needs to tell you that he wants to go on a date? Yes? (Yes and you wanted to ask him on a date too, so Dorkath is happy yay)
•get these crowded public places away from him. Drakath doesnt have the best reputation (duh) and the last thing he needs is for some idiots ruin your moment
•Drakath was <and kinda still is> a Prince, so he wont be in some dirty and poor places. Expensive? Yes. Buy you gifts? Also yes. He has gold, he can use it however he likes
•wont be ashamed to help you win the prise you want, even if he needs to use chaos magic. Because this whole Lore can be damned, your happiness is his priority, not some worker's
•gets jealous easily. Like. Its funny how quickly Drakath can get jealous. Normally, he is too shy to show off even the tiniest affection stuff like holding hands, but when someone is taking too long talking with you or staring even, hoo boi. Then he just pulls you away from anyone, covers in his wings (they are huge for real) and deathglares someone away (noone wants to mess with him anyways)
•PLEASE dont go somewhere loud, he prefers somewhere rather dead silent. Or something that isnt "blowing his ears off" with volume
•when you 2 are alone in his or your home, its another story tho. Drakath is shy in public, but really isnt in private. He can and will hug and warp you in his wings because he can now do it and it feels so good to cuddle-
•thats that one guy who takes care of everything yeah...But seems to sometimes forget that he is alot taller then like 90% of people on the Lore and forgets to get down when walking through the normal door and gets his foread hit. Ow. Thats why all his doors are alot larger in his castle
•god save him if you wanna have a sleepover in one bed (nothing dirty, whadidyathinkyou pe-) . Drakath face will turn bright red. Its too much. Halp
•buuuuut agrees anyway cus doesnt want to upset you. Turns out he is a big cuddly bear... That really often has nightmares about his Father's death. Help this poor boi. He will be gratefull :3
•probably wakes up first but cant really get out of the bed because you look so peacefull when sleeping
•even if you have one of the worst nightmates and wake him up by screaming and being hysteric, Drakath wont judge. Been there. But without anyone to help him. So now he can help you. Holding you close and reasuring that its just a bad dream and both of you are fine
•will prepare you breakfast before you even get to brush your teeth, Drakath had to learn alot quickly and mostly by himself when he was kicked out
•if you have any books to read with him, he will just be one happy boi. Drakath really enjoys reading. Even if you dont have, he just loves to spend time with you either in silence or doing literally anything. He actually tried very hard to avoid getting attached because of that one tragic event, but, with you making him happy and yourself having fun, maybe he was somewhat foolish for not getting to know you sooner, to feel even greater happiness, then if he ever felt one all alone

Villain!Mirror Drakath ideas
1. He really didnt want to force order, but maybe enemies and allies taunted/accused him for not killing bad guys? He got fed up with it and decided to act
2. Betrayal of Mirror Gravelyn played heavy role in him making that decision, his closest friend tried to kill him, because she didnt feel protected, because she didnt feel like he was protecting this realm enough. It makes Mirror Drakath heart ache for what he believes "failed at"
3. He will lock up every hero/good person in prison/dungeon in order to prevent them from being hurt by him. The first thing he does is capture M!Gravelyn, lock her up solemnly and telling her "its... For your own good. I cant let you be hurt by me or others..." Not realising that he IS hurting her
4. He will defeat and do that to the Hero too (you can put your Ezyra in here for imagining it better or anyone's character really) once he finds you trying to stop him. And, if you know Lord of Order class, Mirror Drakath will surely aim to incapacitate you from doing any harm. Perhaps he turns into Prime Order Drakath to ensure his victory against evil? Then suffers abit of burn scars, but himbo will be fine, trust me
5. Chaos Drakath has a small inner panic once he realizes "holy Lore, he IS going chaotic!" and helps you & Mirror Gravelyn to escape prison/dungeon with his portals (like the ones he used in Chaos Twin's chapter). Because Mirror Drakath is too busy being a villain to care about it
6. Mirror Gravelyn regrets her actions and Mirror Twins join you two to fight along side Hero to bring her good old himbo buddy back
7. Mirror Drakath just vents out about his feelings. But promises to make things right. Such as helping bad guys to rebuild their stuff to have abit of evil head-start, getting some chaotic advice from Chaos Drakath that will not do big harm, but will be enough to balance things out
-i probably don't need to type that im Shroom at this point :p
YOOOOO THIS IS SO GOOD SHROOM!!! This is a whole ass story outline and I am LIVING for the angst :D
A series of bad events stacking up on such a short amount of time while he’s trying his best to regain some semblance of order back into the Mirror Realm after the whole Malgor fiasco definitely seems like a good breaking point for Mirror!Drakath. ESPECIALLY if it’s combined with having the people under his care beginning to doubt him and his abilities since, let’s face it, he became a mess in the short time his Lords of Order were captured back in the birthday event, so who’s to say his performance hasn’t worsened since his Lords DIED as a result of the Chaos War? (Here’s hoping that the Lords of Order who were brought back couldn’t stay in the present timeline and had to be put back in the past because of paradox reasons)
Even with all his allies and powers, he’s still one man, and being the main defender of the Mirror Realm meant that he’d probably stretched himself thin more than once trying to help as much as he can. Poor guy’s probably too stressed and sleep deprived to make sound decisions, so I honestly can’t blame him for going ape shit askldjadasf
I also love how you reinforced Mirror!Drakath’s motives through what happened with Mirror!Gravelyn, since I do personally see him as someone who takes the brunt of the blame when things go wrong in his world, and having a close friend go rouge just from shady promises of a more peaceful world from a guy who’s known for being a major manipulator is definitely a blow to his ego as a Champion.
Also the angst!!! OH THE ANGST!!! I’m a sucker for characters unintentionally hurting their friends for the ‘greater good’ trope XD
And oh man, Mirror!Drakath becoming an enemy is a TERRIFYING thought (and yes, I have red the movesets for the Lord of Order class, and good lord I have never been more scared of a support ASDJKASJK)
AND HIM RESORTING TO GOING PRIME MODE AT THE COST OF HIS OWN SAFETY IS GOD TIER EMOTIONAL DAMAGE ;-; just the thought of him forcing himself to keep fighting even when he could feel his body getting more and more damaged the longer he keeps himself Prime is just AAAAAAHHHH SHROOM WHY :ᗡ
AND YESSSS RELUCTANT HERO CHAOS!DRAKATH AND HIS HANDY-DANDY PORTALS HERE TO SAVE THE DAY :D (bastard’s actually good for something after all HAJSHJASHF)
And of course at the end of it all when he inevitably loses and gets his senses back after an emotionally rousing speech from Mirror!Gravelyn and the Hero, it would be revealed that all Mirror!Drakath really wants is for someone to be there for him when he needs them (and maybe therapy. Man’s got a lot of issues to sort through).
Give him a nudge to the right direction and a chance to let go of some of his pent up emotional baggage and he should be good to go (plus the guilt of his actions should keep him in check in the next time the thought of seizing total control over the Mirror Realm crosses his mind again)
BRAVO SHROOM :D once again your ideas have given me the case of the brain worms so GOOD JOB!!!

One of my friends a while back asked for the explanation of how Chaos worked in Lore (my Ranisson / AdventureQuest Worlds canon) and what it’s like in a hivemind, so I gave them an explanation over discord dms. Since I don’t feel like writing up another post about it, I’m just going to copy paste under the cut. Bolded was their second question. It’s not formatted for an actual post, being in all lowercase, but eh.
As always, I take questions if any are thought up.
magic in lore works like a tiered triangle, in four tiers. the first tier up at the top is raw, pure, balance magic. it's very, very unstable and volatile, exceedingly rare, and kills most people to get near. i only know of three people who could use it, and only one who did so in a proper, balanced way. (his name was warlic. his magic ran in reverse - the more he used, the more he'd get. he was very very good at his job.) underneath balance on tier two are the two binding elements, order and chaos. they do exactly that, they don't really exist on their own but they can be used to hold other elements together. if met together without anything to hold, they cancel out. my theory is that if the two coexisted in a world properly and naturally, they'd remove all magic from the world entirely. hence why there are two versions of lore: the one i was in, and the one we called the mirror realm. (the mirror folks called us the mirror realm and they were the normal ones. as one does.) order existed in the mirror realm, chaos existed in ours. underneath them in the third tier are the eight 'pure' elements. they're called pure because people didn't know about the tiered structure until drakath's husband (he's important) figured it all out. you got water, fire, wind, earth, light, darkness, lightning, and ice. ice would be more accurately called chill, and fire more accurately heat. water's opposite is actually lightning, not fire. if you take one or more tier three elements and slap a tier two on it, you get tier four: every other element that exists. if you combine darkness and fire with chaos, then you get a type of death energy. bind them with order you'd get something else, change either element or hell, even the ratio of them relative to each other, you'll get something else.
that's how magic works. but it also works in tandem with people. the magic system was set up probably by lorithia, a creation-aligned goddess who's worshipped religiously but it's more cultural than religious tbh. she set in place three spots for mortals to take up regarding magic: the avatar, the champion, and the orb-bearer. the avatar of a given tier two or three element exists once, and only once. they're naturally immortal but can be killed, and once they're gone, you'll never get another avatar of that element without lorithia interfering, or something. their second in command is the champion: there's always a champion, or someone intended to become them. they hold the throne while the avatar's out, and while you can be both avatar and champion, avatars aren't that common and we don't know much about them, so. under the champion is the orb-bearer: the orbs exist for tier-two elements, and act as the conscience of the element. if you want to pick a fight with lightning itself, go find the orb-bearer and go yell at them, i guess. drakath's husband was the avatar of chaos. his name was daniel arkhane, and i refer to him only as the avatar because it's rude to say anything else. i'll specify if i mean another avatar, but literally no other one ever showed up in anything i had anything to do with afaik so i don't care about them. he became the avatar because for his final project in warlic's class at his university, he was handed a classgem (concentrated bits of tier two-to-four elements that tune your magic to that 'class', very similar to an rpg) of mysterious origin and told to figure out what it was and everything to do with it. except that classgem was pure tier-two chaos, which realized it was handling someone whose magic ran in reverse and who could probably handle balance magic without dying, and he ended up avatar. he took the natural chaos in the world and went about engineering it, seeing what he could do. he was pretty angry at sepulchure for trying to colonize his people (the lunaris sentinels, they're a canon thing) and killing his adopted mother, as well as everything sepulchure's ever done to drakath (it's like what dragonfable tells you, but with way more trauma), and he never got too far in it because sepulchure's raids dropped a building on him. the chaorruption i've got tells me his skull got crushed in, which i didn't need to know but okay sure. drakath is the champion of chaos. he took the avatar's research and went farther with it, until he had something past raw magic, that could actually take a form, and he went about using it and experimenting with what it could do. he wanted the war to stop, and figured if he had a classgem of the championship of chaos (as being the champion requires the classgem of the championship, and those fuckers teleport if they think they're not getting found), he might actually make it work. so he created a version of chaos magic that wouldn't kill you if it took you: it would just bind you to it. say you're a paladin, with a classgem of a paladin class, which is water-air-light bound with order? yeah, now he's binding water-air-light with chaos, and you're still a paladin but now you're chaorrupted. if you used raw chaos with water-air-light, you wouldn't get a paladin. idr what you'd get but it wouldn't be that. his version literally corrupted it magically. now, all the tier two and three elements can corrupt, if you tune them right. i've seen magicorruption from other elements and it's never fun, but drakath's chaos did it in a way that could be fun, if you were the right kind of person. drakath was, effectively, a uni student in his mid twenties who had seen too much and was basically a punk with anarchist leanings. so he needed an army to stop the war, and he needed to not get caught, and so he took those nobody would miss. those a moment before suicide, those who worked in swordhaven doing what nobody wanted them to do (gamblers, prostitutes, etc), those who were getting hurt. he took everyone that might be happier with him, and left nothing but a trace of his chaos magic - which was bright as fuck purple goop that sent you into a coma if you touched it and got infected when he didn't want you to. he made an army of the people nobody on either side wanted, and nobody save for a few adventurers noticed, because nobody cared. he also ended up with a few people from other worlds, because he wasn't the avatar and couldn't control it completely. (i showed up later. i have ranisson's memories and she has mine, but we're separate people who spent a bit of time swapping bodies for a bit. hence why we're now 'kin with each other. one of my longtime mutuals was also in this position. his name's lance and we're still bffs.) and then he went and chaorrupted alteon, straight up murdered sepulchure, and started an alliance between what was left of their armies as everyone turned on him. smug tall bastard. guy was 6'7" and already saved the world when sepulchure told him to gather all the orbs and he fused with the dragon of light to bind them to keep from basically nuking the world. that dragon was the aforementioned fluffy. he then lost the orbs in a volcano and we never went back for them, rip. but here's what chaorruption does to you: it's a hivemind, in the way that everyone's hooked up to a peer-to-peer database network. telepathy across the entire network. if you know a Fact, everyone knows the Fact. people know automatically what triggers those around them, without consciously knowing it: you just know not to bring it up if you get close to the topic. if you try really really hard, you can swap identities with others. this proved very useful when we had most of the army turn into drow (dark elves, who were virtually extinct) at the order of chaos lord vath, a pissed off drow who grew up with dragons after dwarves basically genocided his people. he wanted more drow like him and for a time we could make that happen for him, so we did. it also had the avantage of nobody knowing who the fuck actually just killed their little sister: all they knew is that a chaos drow did it, not that it was actually johnny mcgee who's actually a water draconian. we all knew who each other was, but nobody else did. it also meant that with our telepathy, we could and would confuse the fuck out of everyone. we could chatter and cross language barriers. didn't matter if you were yelling gibberish at me, i'd know through the chaos what you meant to tell me. if you explained some concept i'd never understood but another chaorrupted person would, then so long as i was actively using my magic and chaorruption, i'd be able to do it. not as well as the person who understood it normally would, but i'd be able to do a passing job. so what we'd do is yell everything at each other in various languages and out of order, and we'd know what was going on, and nobody else would. it really did reinforce the idea of chaos- if you weren't in the know, it was nonsensical and impossible to follow. we could change an entire strategy of attack in about five seconds, because the chaos was faster than we could be otherwise. the only way to defeat us was straight up overpowering us, which only happened if we couldn't move as fast as you could. it happened, but eh. so basically i'm very used to a hivemind and there's nothing quite like it. it's actually terrifying if you're not properly one of us, which is what minos went through in that fic - he was part of the hivemind, but he wasn't part of chaos, hence why it was killing him slowly from the inside out. if any of us had found him, we would've dragged him in to get initialized and he would've probably been fine. but ah, everyone i know who hears me talk about chaos knows it as this great, really nice thing, and i wanted to drive home that for everyone else, it was fucking terrifying. but for me? it was great, and it's such a huge part of what and who i am that i feel it'd be impossible to not notice if you knew what you were looking for, yeah?
"I'm curious though, does that mean that in the hive mind, you could change your appearance through chaos magic? Or was it a skill shared throughout the hive mind? I'm also curious as to what you mean by swapping bodies?"
if someone else had what you wanted, yes! you could kind of mix and match? like, if someone had straight snow white hair and yours was bright green and curly, you could take their hair entirely, but you couldn't get a light green or curly white hair, or straight green hair. but you could take just their hair and someone else's eyes. and if they changed their hair to someone's red buzzcut, you couldn't take their hair at all unless you own the red buzzcut, in which you can just swap with each other. if you wanted to make a triangle of swapping you could, but it'd take actual engineering of the magic versus just deciding to. and if you weren't using your magic actively you'd go back to your actual form, hence why if we died we'd transform back. and as far as the magic was concerned, your identity was just another feature. a trans guy and a cis girl absolutely could swap genders if they wanted to. but that part was kind of experimental, meant for those who generally had so much trauma they couldn't be themselves at the moment and needed a break, and there was bleedthrough. if you swapped to get someone else's gender, you were likely to get chunks of the rest of them, too. people absolutely tried to swap traumas and it kind of worked, though it wasn't very commonplace. and you couldn't just take, you had to give whatever you were replacing. so if you wanted to get rid of your curly green hair, someone had to take it, or you had to talk to someone who specialized in engineering (chaosweavers) to permanently alter you, replacing what you had with raw chaos. it wasn't perfect, but if you had raw chaos instead of something else, it would effectively spit out what a fully-chaorrupted person might look like. it had a template. spiky black hair, grayish-violet skin, bright purple eyes with white or black sclera, open sores with a layer of dragonscales underneath instead of flesh, purple blood, way too many teeth, around 5'8"-6'2", muscular builds with thick legs and upper arms. occasionally extra eyes. since this made for a better disguise than the drow thing usually did, a lot of people opted for that when they had traits that nobody they found really wanted. though if someone did eventually want the trait that the chaosweavers removed, odds were good they'd wake up with it unexpectedly and it'd be permanent unless the chaos was removed from them entirely. it was always fun to wake up in the morning and wonder if today was the day you rolled on that 5% chance you look different now. i don't remember if anyone was against it, but it was definitely unexpected, tbh
[and another tangent a few messages later]
people really liked their motifs in lore. like, morality was... surprisingly different. there was no "you're a good person" or "you're evil", because people referred to swordhaven as Good and shadowfall as Evil. you could be a kind, really nice person who was Evil, but by our terms, not necessarily evil. are you evil if you don't kill people, even if your friends all do and you're cool with it? are you good even though you throw people out of your city for trying to do illegal things just to survive? these aren't questions that you'll find in lore at all. your personal morality means nothing, it's what faction banner you're under. the only time that stuff matters is if you're an adventurer, because they only ally with who gets them the resources they want. (heroes are a type of adventurer, they have prophecies about them and are regarded as not real adventurers, because they didn't get a choice. i knew quite a few heroes who refused to say they were because the prophecy was secondary to their adventures.) adventurers are all over the place, but morality as a personal thing as we know it was... basically nonexistent? it was really different

Dr Ganx prime time failgirl moment before vanishing for the rest of the release. She is going to gaslight gatekeep girlboss to close to the sun at this rate.
Aqw continues the trend of having all of the circumstances of Drakath's chaos podling birth being talked about in such a way so we conveniently never see his feelings on it. But Maybe! Maybe someday I will be given more canon content to chew on lmao.
Mi and Fa are cute but I am going to go feral I wanna see the champions!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!
Victoria is also gaslight gatekeep girlbossing WE ARE SO BACK.
Final notes: Now its Song's turn to get hopelessly involved in the Hero's personal found family drama. Lets see how much she can judge us after THIS *pulls back curtain on lobotomies, betrayals, world erasures and a mental state so bad we literally made a guy about it*

Ok ok so ummm Magius and Drakath.
It starts out with Magius after spawning in at 13 years old and spending 10 years eating dirt and murdering people finally putting in that effort to be a good person because they comedy of errors stumbled their way into the good graces of the king and Warlic told them that they needed to socialize normally. And then Swordhaven fucking explodes. So Magius takes up that Hero mantle because they are the only one crazy enough to sign up for hunting down that Chaos Champion. They have that freaky gut feeling that maybe they can figure out who they were meant to be if they do that. The EDOT destiny instinct if you will.
And then its like. Magius does not know how to be a hero. And nobody really knows Magius personally aside from a few people at battleon because they reallly want people to treat them like a weapon you point at people. But Drakath doesn't give a shit, he does not give constructive criticism on how they are behaving. And he does things -to Magius-, he attacks Magius, he antagonises the person he is not interested in having a weapon as an opponent he wants someone who reacts. And getting acknowledged like that doesn't happen to Magius very often and so they get a little obsessed with the intimacy of it without realizing that it isn't hate anymore and maybe Drakath finds that a little interesting and perhaps Xing and Xang do not help.
Anyways so they fight to the death. And Magius accepts that they have to be a person and makes more lifelong friends and Drakath goes and licks his wounds and complains and they don't talk for a while. But for some reason when he starts recruiting people to join his Chaos Militia in Crownsreach Magius is there like a wet cat, and even though Drakath is pretty sure he hates them now he can't bring himself to say no because its just you know. Playing the game, having a little fun. And Magius is interesting to have around. So the two of them convince themselves that nothings going on and that this is how rivals act. No they aren't flirting Magius is not a roommate this is perfectly acceptable Nemesis behavior.
Drakath isn't stupid. He is fully aware that this is delusional behavior. He has done this "opposing sides friendshipmance" thing before and because of his past dumbass youth decisions knows that this goes poorly. So he convinces himself that they are playing the game, just the regular flirty no strings attached shit that nobody has to feel bad about. And the more that Magius and Drakath battle together, and trust each other, and after about the umptenth time that Drakath has to show up to pull Magius out the wreckage of a Situation, they get more... comfortable being weirdly vulnerable about the deep things. The Strings Attached so to speak. And THATS when they realize that they are sooooo fucked.

Im in the mood for some tiny cuddling headcanons for AQW characters and you cant stop me-
Victoria/Robina
•she had a big family, so affection could be her nickname instead of "Robina", heh
•it actually depends on your height. If you are tiny, she gets abit too into it and cuddle as if you are one of her tiny sisters/brothers. If you are taller she'd like to nuzzle closer to your neck
•Victoria is not shy, she will probably start cuddles first
•comfort cuddles and going into "big sister mode" when you are sad? Yes. Live with that
Artix
•this boi is also someone, who would cuddle the living days outta you
•likes to give small kisses when you are so close together
•actually gets all red when someone catches them (damn you Cysero!) and laughts about it
•probably will try to prank you while you are so relaxed. Artix can have some fun as well
Warlic
•shy boi. You gotta do it first. But if he really feels like cuddles, he gonna do them first. If you are fine with them, that is
•would rather do it in private. Cus he is shy about it
•Warlic likes to share stories of his magic research, adventures and places he had been while you 2 are cuddling
•actually feels sleepy. And may as well drift to sleep if you cuddle at night on the couch or bed
Drakath (imma do it when you have his trust)
•actually wouldnt do it when anyone are around. But if he gets jealous, he is gonna be really close to you
•somewhat selfish when you are alone. He wants to be in charge
•learns really quickly that cuddles in armor really dont feel as good as without it (that armor is too spiky and rough)
•pls dont mention that in public. Drakath will be really embaraced over it
•mostly would want to cuddle if he is stressed or had a bad day. Drakath just never used to cuddle at all. And he likes it. Alot

Learning to love (Drakath headcanons)
Tbh Chaos Saga is way better then QoM..Pls lemme time travel and just enjoy this whole saga without that Queen of Disappointment...
•no. He is not used to be loved or to love. Drakath's life is full of fights and terrors that it is suprising how he is still alive and sane
•...but after you gained enough of his trust. Wich wont happen as quickly as i would had wanted. Drakath doesnt belive that you just want to spend friendly time with him. He is always ready to just kill you at the spot if you do something wrong
•but once you won his trust he.. Will actually be confused what to do. Seriously. Consider yourself to be his first person who had EVER gotten his trust on a such level
•what he *will* do right is protecting you. Maybe even too much. But Drakath really does it out of fear that another one he loves may get killed and he isnt sure if he will get over it this time
•hugging him at first will be really akward since he will either push you away or just get out of your way. But once Drakath actually catches on that he loves it, he will welcome them
•he has sensitive neck. Tickling this neck works superb. But it will also mean that you need to avoid his backfire
•pet/kiss him and "Drakath.exe has stopped responding". He isnt used to them. Help
•actually hesitates if you want to learn chaos magic/get chaorrupted. Its too unpredictable and god knows what will happen if it goes wrong
•Drakath is also unpredictable. One day drinks tea and the other he claims that he doesnt like it, laughing at something one day then gets annoyed by it the next. However, if you want to make him suprised, make your gift as lovely as possible (pink, hearts, glitter. You know this)
•the longer you stay and the more you show love the more open he becomes. Drakath, for once, will feel like himself. Not a Chaos Champion, not a bandit, not a tool. But as his humanself
•and that is gonna be the happiest day for both of you

Saving stray pets
I watched some cute videos about stray puppies and kittens being saved by good people and it warmed my heart so much. Dont judge me for this please. So some "brutal edgy" guys with you bringing stray pet
Dark Deception - Malak
•apperantly you can get a lost soul of a kitten. How it got here - noone knows. But it was lost and constantly meowing for its parents
•being given the second chance to do more usefull and good things you decided to pick stray kitty and go with it back to "your home"
•Malak raises an eyebrow. Why would you keep it? ... "So it wont feel lonely"? Huh...
•he was gonna deny your request about keeping this kitten but your puppy eyes made him always feel horrible denying your stuff that Malak groans in defeat and lets you keep it
•...as long as your stray pet wont be bothering him
•there is an old say in my country that "people who claim they dont want pets end up with the strongest bonds with them"
•so guess what happened with Malak later ;)
Adventure Quest Worlds - Drakath
•poor puppy had hurt his leg. Whining and dragging itself around. You just cant pass that doggy. And its raining! There is no way in hell you will let this cute puppy die like this!
•Drakath isnt amused when he sees you with tiny shacking ball in your arms. But he isnt that heartless or cruel. He said it can stay until the rain ends
•dont get me wrong, this boy didnt really have pets for his own enjoyment and company. Father kept dogs as guard's support or something like that but not as, you know, part of a family. So he isnt really aware how to take care of them properly
•would still give you things you need and look over doggy so it wont fall off and die. And he felt...Strange feeling of a pity while looking at its scared eyes, that yet knew he wasnt dangerous
•imagine his suprise when he wakes up with this puppy crueled under his blanket close to him. Drakath feels....Happy
•later when you wanted to find a home for it..... Drakath: "I think we can keep it, (Y/N)"
•thats the best thing that happened to the both of you

You know. I had some dark idea in my mind that may or may not be an agnst idea. Maybe?
You know how Chaos Drakath was like. Very angry and all that, now he is more or less chill (and abit grumpy)
Mirror Drakath looks like the type of person to not really share about his problems unless its really heavy with his twins/M!Gravelyn or until they ask him about it instead
So what if... His bubble will burst? Yeah, he is easy-going himbo, but like. Anyone under pressure can break. What if Mirror Drakath will try to force his order ideals onto Mirror Realm because he is sick of all that fighting, so it becomes M!Gravelyn and Hero's job (Ezyra's, if you will) to calm him down and help him
And also, perhaps abit out of place, but i think Chaos/Order Drakaths can actually try to stop each other when one is going too far (like M!Drakath assisting you in Lords of Chaos saga) cus you know. They also keep balance. So IF Mirror Himbo will go overboard for whatever reason, Chaos Edgelord is gonna request Hero for the help as it tips the balance. (It may or may not also affect Drakath himself if Mirror Drakath does something real bad)
I mean sure, he wont do it, too much of a himbo to do evil.... But thats just food for thought of "what if" scenario
-a very confused over that shroom
👀👀
Shroom, you are giving me brain worms right now because THAT IS AMAZING
(It's a heartbreaking concept, don't get me wrong, but I love angst more than anything else and this is just the perfect combination of 'holy crap I want this to be canon' and 'oh god I DON'T want this to be canon', ya know?)
BUT YEAH, Mirror!Drakath at his breaking point and resorting to amassing total control of his world to stop the conflict once and for all is something I can totally see for AQW, The guy is clearly strong enough to do that, but he's too morally upright to seize power and be a dictator, plus I'm pretty sure he's also bound by his duty as the Champion of Order to not go beyond his assigned role in his world
BUT OH MAN THE POSSIBILITY OF HAVING MIRROR!DRAKATH BECOME A VILLAIN OUT OF DESPERATION HAS A LOT OF UNTAPPED POTENTIAL
Just the mental image of the Hero going against Mirror!Drakath after all their years of friendship, being forced to confront the monster he has become in this misguided attempt at achieving the peace he's been fighting for for so long. The mental image of Mirror!Gravelyn being the one to try to snap him out, to help him like he did to her back in Shadows of Chaos. . .
AJDKLAJ THE ANGST WOULD BE SO GOOD AND THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT SO SATISFYING :D
It also fits well with the fact that, at its core, Order is meant to be an element of balance, but when applied at its most extreme, it causes stagnation. The same principle applies to Chaos, since it's only meant to be a changing force, but too much of it causes destruction like we've already seen with Chaos!Drakath. They ARE meant to be opposing forces for the sake of balancing out the world, so it definitely wouldn't be a stretch to have Chaos!Drakath do his job as the Champion of Chaos and knock Mirror!Drakath down a peg or two if he starts going too far
(Although I have a feeling it would take A LOT of convincing to have him realize that letting Mirror!Drakath run rampant could pose a threat to his entire existence, so he'd probably play the role of a reluctant hero in this case ASDLAJSK)
Overall ASKLDJD SHROOM I LOVE THIS SO MUCH EVEN THOUGH THE ENTIRE PREMISE BREAKS MY HEART!!! I legit want this to be a thing but I feel like my soul is gonna shrivel up and die from despair if it does happen so haskljajjf

Fun water drinking game: take a sip every time i appear - Shroom
I have been thinking
Prime versions of Mirror/Chaos Drakaths must be powerful as hell when they give it all they got. Ultra Chaos Champion Drakath with like 20 million hp is oof. He snapped, he went apeshit. Mirror will probably make you unable to deal any damage (cus he would be like, better version of Lord of Order class)
.... But this power would seem to hurt them. Or, more specifically, burning them from the inside. As Chaos Dorkath (yes, Dorkath) has half of his face melted (probably hurts like hell) and still not recovered from all the glowing/fire he has. So, i suppose its their "last ditch effort" in case things are too bad
Lmao yes I've been a very hydrated person for the past week thanks to you Shroom XD
Ooh, that's a pretty interesting observation! I like to think that since all Champions basically act as mortal conduits for their respective Avatars, they can technically tap into their Avatar's full power under specific conditions (i.e. they need that classic Last Resort boost when shit gets too much for them to handle).
Since we haven't really seen other Champions go through a Prime transformation (at least as far as I'm aware off, I admit my memory is a little rusty on that part of the lore), I'm not really sure if this is just a thing all Champions can potentially experience or if it's a special case for Chaos Drakath and Mirror Drakath.
But we all know what happens when god-like powers are combined with fragile human bodies. . .
Honestly, I'm still surprised that Chaos Drakath is able to survive his transformation while only losing half his face (how tf is he still burning???). At this point, I don't wanna imagine what Mirror Drakath would experience if he DID go Prime in the main story.
I'd imagine he'd have chronic pains as a result of his injuries, but we all know how much he likes to hide things from the Hero when he wants to. He has no time to show weakness so he's just trudging on through sheer force of will and spite (that's pretty much his main sources of energy at this point aklshflashlf)
Also, heh. Dorkath. Nice :D
(Fun fact: Ezyra started calling Drakath 'D²' when she learned about his full name. He hates it >:D)

Do you have any headcanons for aqw mirror realm? For anything or anyone, there’s just not enough content for it sadly. Thank you in advance and have a great day!
*cries in ultra xiang*
Yeah, imma do the duo from Mirror Realm!
Mirror friends! (Mirror Drakath and Mirror Gravelyn headcanons)
Mirror Drakath
•the gentelman™, cant be rude to save his life. He is too much of a gentelman to be rude even to his enemies. Mirror Drakath gets as much of a respect as he gives to pretty much anyone he meets
•it makes this Champion of Order boi somewhat shy. Too much attention for him sometimes >///<
•like Chaos Drakath, still has nightmares about his Father's death. You'll be able to notice it because his smile seems to be forced and his eyes are tired when he had that nightmare
•boi usually fights with the undead forces of the evil Mirror Alteon. M. Drakath always gets back with injures. But his normal responce is "whatever doesnt kill us, makes us stronger, right? Next time, we'll get them without any harm!"
•supportive boyfriend™. Gonna shower you in compliments just to make sure that you will be in the good mood (also, your face is cute when you become so shy and its adorable in his opinion, lol)
Mirror Gravelyn
•would rather be quiet. She is alot more shy then our undead queen Gravelyn
•however, she is more collected in her thoughts without being clouded by her father's death (if you think about it, everyone loose their dads in aqw. What is dis awfull trend?). Mirror Gravelyn takes not so long to put aside thw problems she had with someone and ally with them to defeat the greater evil!
•loves when you brush her hair or brand it. There is just something special about it
•she is gonna show that Mirror Alteon how good of a queen she is. M. Gravelyn is determined to prove it
•best battle-partners(wat did i say?) with Mirror Drakath because both spend alot of time either together in battle. But she wont cheat on you if you are her girl-/boyfriend neither will M. Drakath try anything. He will be happy for both of you
