Chapter 177 - Summary
Hello and welcome to the first chapter summary on this blog. Since this week is golden week there was no new chapter on tuesday, but, seeing as 177 has not been translated yet I'll bring you this one anyway. I will keep doing this every time a new chapter comes out, so watch out for it if you are interested! Of course, there be spoilers below the cut, so proceed with caution. And don't forget to follow this blog so we can celebrate everything about this series together!! Please note these points before you read.
In 177 we continue the backstory of how Hisui found out Chidori is the green keeper, and how they fought the dog executive Rethadaiya. The title is therefore something easy like "Hisui Kanon, Age 11, Part 2". Negi always makes it easy for himself. We see the defeated green squad, as Chidori and Hisui arrive too late to hold the executive. It is implied that the dog executive has already found a new skin to wear and hide among humans. They go to the restaurant the executive victim told Chidori about in 176 and both order the daily set menu. They talk about Rethadaiya's powers that are outwardly weak, but his usage of the pain in a humans heart can make it hard to fight him. The set menu ends up being curry, which is Chidori's favourite. They count their luck and eat up. Chidori remarks how the flavour was exactly how he remembers, which he finds extraordinary. "You can recall that much from memory" he points out and then it is shown that the waiter looks like Sanae. The former executive victim is therefore Rethadaiya. Chidori points out that he is easy to read and follow since he only goes for beautiful people and since the woman was beautiful Chidori figured the executive was here. Rethadiya explains that beauty is important to them, they say that it is like when humans want new clothes. If they see it and like it, they want it. Hisui attacks, but the doll transforms from Sanae back to her childhood friend. Chidori sees how distressed she is, he offers a truce. He tels the executive to leave and go somewhere else, like so many other executives have, but to promise not to mess with humans ever again. This makes Hisui angry. I'll be honest with you, what follows is a big speech of Rethadaiya about asethetic and beauty that I only half understand. The most important is that they get bored of a human skin quickly and that they could never wear just one. They link this to human behaviour, calling it a changing trend or a new set menu every day. They imply that they will switch skins with Hisui's instead (that means Hisui is pretty, how nice ?? :D) Chidori gets pissed off and transforms. This is a great panel !! He loosk amazing

We jump back to present time, Hisui remembers that fight so many years ago. She remembers Chidori's words and goes in. In an overlap of past and present they both take out the dog executive
Tumblr media
In the end Hisui repeats that her anger towards invaders will never end and that she will end the battle on her own.

I love those summaries! And it really does feel like it's something that's being done all the time, until it's not.
Do be careful not to overdo it, though - I do like Volshebnyy Dvurog ("Magical Bicorn", an 1949 popular-math book for kids by Sergey Bobrov), but the chapter (or "scholia", as Bobrov calls them) summaries in it can stretch on way too long. As a particularly lengthy example, here's Scholia the Fifth...
Tumblr media
(This is not even the full summary - it continues on the next page. Photo taken from a LiveJournal post by blagoroden_don.)
EDIT: while looking up those pics, I found my translation of (roughly) the first half of the chapter summary for Scholia the Eleventh...
...which, firstly, is fairly long, and secondly, not especially simple, so the kind reader will need to exercise if not stubbornness, then at least considerable persistence, if he wants to further play the scholiae. However, without reading this scholia, there would generally be nothing more to read in this book. Therefore, one who wants to read past Scholia the Eleventh needs, as it is usually done, to spare some courage and first read past the tenth.
(Then it continues with the actual chapter summary, also in flowery style and the same length [6.4 lines in the original] as the above preliminary text.)
There should be more books that have chapter titles, and then a little summary of the chapter below them. You don't have to be boring with them, or spoil the whole chapter by telling what happens - you could make it vague, like a prophecy of something you know is going to happen, but you don't know how, or with what results.
Having one-sentence summaries like "Chapter 12 - where the Queen's hound makes a fatal mistake" and you're like oh shit does this refer to the queen's actual hunting dog, or the guy that's mockingly called her lapdog? "Chapter 24 - where justice finds a thief, and a thief finds justice" and you're like ooooh shit the cute little pickpocket is going to get caught, and then it turns out that shit, she does get caught, but by someone who actually agrees that she's right to steal to help feed her family, and gets her help instead, which is justice.
You already know what's going to happen, but not how.

A guy who just wake up from a coma -> what did i miss?
Pomefiore was the last plot i follow before real life made me forget about our silly boys. How bad has the plot become now for our gang? Also who is that Gojo looking guy?
anon, I am so sorry and I mean this in the best way, but I do think episode 5 is the absolute funniest place to have stopped following Twst because shit starts escalating SO fast after that. episode 6 literally starts with a secret government shadow agency breaking down our doors and kidnapping students. zero to a million instantly.

and like...that's not even the zaniest thing so far? Ortho's hacked into the collective human unconscious. there's time travel (sort of). "Crowley might be Malleus' long-lost father" is a serious theory. if you'd told me any of this back pre-episode 6, I would have asked for the link to this unbelievable but highly intriguing fanfic.
also, episode 7 gave us (and then immediately took away 😔) the best character in the whole story:

Attrition ch. 70: Ten Years From Then
“What are you doing here?” “I should ask that of you. Seriously, Elphie, a religious convent? Who have you become?” “A ghost,” said Elphaba. “If I'm anything at all.” “You were always a ghost. Even back at Shiz, you were.”
Or, Glinda visits the cloister of her namesake. Things spiral from there.
🫧 Start from the beginning
In chapter 70, the road ends—but the family carries on. The world changes, and love remains.

Marinette jolted awake to the insistent buzz of her phone announcing an Akuma alert.
She groaned, arching up from her bed with all the vim and vigor of a zombie. Her head felt as if it were stuffed with cotton. Loose strands of her hair stuck to her cheek, and her nightshirt clung uncomfortably to her back, courtesy of the night sweats shed just recently developed and immediately loathed.
She tugged the fabric with a grimace, peeling it away from her skin. Her eyes fell to the empty trash bin near her bed, and she nudged it away with her foot. Not too far, though. She’d probably need it soon enough. Waking today to find it empty was a rare luxury—one she was sure would be temporary.
Mornings had never been her favorite. Now, they were a personal hell.
Her phone buzzed again. She groaned louder, pressing the heels of her hands into her eyes like she could rub the exhaustion away. It didn't matter how many hours she managed to sleep;  she could get a full eight or only two, and the bone-deep fatigue would still cling to her like a shadow, unrelenting and wholly unwelcome.
“I’m coming, I’m coming,” she grumbled. Slowly, she pushed herself to her feet. A wave of nausea hit her, and she loomed over the trash bin—
It subsided after a dizzying moment. Barely.
Tikki flew over, dangling the still-alarming phone in her paws. “Marinette, there’s an Akuma at the Louvre.”
“Yeah, I know. Thanks,” Marinette yawned. After a few lethargic misses, she finally hit the button to silence the alert. She dragged herself toward the bathroom. “Just… give me a moment. Gotta pee.”
She always needed to, these days.
Tikki frowned, yet said nothing.
After a bathroom break, a quick tooth-brushing, and an attempt at wrangling her hair into a bun, Marinette felt slightly more alive. Tikki hovered, flitting back and forth with thinly veiled impatience. As usual, she kept her judgment non-verbal, and Marinette wasn't sure whether it was because Tikki knew she was struggling with her pregnancy symptoms or because she feared it would only result in being snapped at.
Best not to ask.
(Not that she snapped at her Kwami often, or ever at all—but an expectant mother’s emotions were always unpredictable. As Tikki had said a few days ago.
Marinette had bitten her tongue to keep from proving Tikki's point by feeling offended.)
“Alright,” Marinette said, her voice still husky from sleep. “Tikki, spots on.”

Chapter 179 - Sumamry
Completely forgot to do this yesterday, but the japanese releases are back!! I hope Negi-sensei feels better now, since this was the second break this year :C Hope they don't overwork themselves. Since the translation team is still not done with it all (and with all the deletions I wonder if they have a place to even upload) here once again the summaries of chapter 177 and 178, as well as a reminder of the rules.
Chapter title is something along the lines of "Keystone."
We left the story with Akabane becomming a General Knight and then we return to it with him already out of the suit again, trashing the remains of it. He is barefoot and his feet and legs are full with blood.
Hibiki, in his general knight suit, joins him and suggests to him that they shoudl move on forward, since time is pressing to win this battle against Green. Akabane tells him he won't be part of their faction.
To convince him, Hibiki (if I got that right) says that if Akabane goes fowarward without his mask, people will just assum he is the Red Keeper and give all credit to the Rangers. Sousei once again reiterates that he is the Red Keeper and that without them the Rangers are just fakes. He says that, through denying his justice the Rangers have become evil.
We jump to Hisui who is watching the pink betallaion fight one of the executives. One of the pink girlies uses her devine tool replica to attack him. Her tool replica is moddeled after a magic girl staff and she also activates it by calling it like a magical girl, which i love. Then Noa transforms into the pink keeper and they blow the thing up.
Tumblr media
Back underground with Akabane and Hibiki, Hibiki says that he cant dismiss all Keepers and Rangers as evil. Though the sunday battles and monsters are created and fake, he does not believe that all about them is made up. He says it was a keeper that saved him and his sister and that through that they became the heroes he wanted to be someday.
Akabane counters by saying that these were the Keepers HE was part of. And now that they oppose him they are just evil. To which Hibiki asks "Does your opponent have to be evil for you to be a hero?"
Then an explosion happens and from a hole in the wall Hewalipon jumps out and rushes past them. Hibiki pulls his sword and actives the divine tool inside it. The kanji is hard to translate because its made up word but I settled on "Dragon Sword of the Heavinly Cloud."
As he rushes forward he states that he does believe Rangers have their reasons for fighting too. He says that the Neo-Rangers will deny (?) the old rangers and that he will proof it by winning this long battle.
Tumblr media
"The Dragon Rangers have trampled on people I care about."
Hisui, watching all of this from the top of the stairs, jokingly asks "You called for a Ranger?" And as Hibiki tries to start talking to her, Akabane pushes him slightly forward, kicking him out of the way from a mountain of heavy rocks falling down from above. The hole opens up to the sky and shoes the sun.
We then see the Green Keeper at the top looking down. He laughs characterstically. "I knew you joined the fight, Akabane!"
Akabane and Hibiki both get ready to fight as the former reiterates that he, in fact, will be the one to take the final boss out.
The chapter ends with the hook for next week: They have different positions, but their enemy is the same. Both Akabane & Hibiki clash with Green!
