By the time the crew touches down on Kor'Sel'Koo on 3/22/24, all of the messages have been sorted and provided and we pick up a new crew member: Mari, a quirky mate who is 4'6" of apparently pure enthusiasm.

The crew doesn't immediately settle down, as there are messages to read and Gilmore Gilrs to figure out.

Muzzain, the far'ly'dae one who ordered all of that Gilmore Girls merchandise, is staying temporarily in Wuunzek, a smallish city about an hour (by underground tunnel train) from Twarvu.

Wuunzek includes a variety of amenities, including Yggld Bars, the Inspired By Earth Waterpark (it's got a lazy river, a waterslide, and a wave pool), an enormous vitamin store aimed at Ly'Daesun called Yonrur, and more.

The process of getting the Gilmore Girls merchandise to the right place now will be... annoying because most of it actually needs to go to Twarvu. While it would normally take an hour and a half, the crew will probably take a full 24 hours to get their surreptiously.

Ability to quickly learn any form of dance. 

Heightened balance, spatial awareness, flexibility, agility, stamina and strength - he caps out somewhere around peak human ability for some of these, but never past (i.e. lifting a person isn’t a problem, but lifting a bus isn’t going to happen.)

 Ability to evoke emotions through dance - only slightly more so than highly skilled dancers are generally able to achieve. As such, this isn’t a power he’s aware of having. 

 He has an aptitude for other performing arts as well, but has to practice more to excel as his abilities fall well within normal human range. Although this aptitude certainly came from his mother’s side, whether or not it’s an actual power is debatable. 

BIOGRAPHY

Aside from an unwitting tryst with a literal goddess, there was very little that could be considered exceptional about Kevin Eansworth. Unfortunately for both of them, this meant that Daniel was born to a father who didn’t quite know what to do with him. When it became apparent that Daniel was exceptionally agile and coordinated for someone his age for example, Kevin did what he assumed any good father would do and promptly signed him up for football, writing off his son’s request to take dance classes instead as a whim that would quickly be forgotten after some exposure to ‘real’ sports. 

 After that initial request, Daniel figured there wasn’t much use fussing about what it was he wanted to do. Football was fine enough, and it certainly helped him make friends - or gain popularity, at the very least. Making waves simply didn’t feel worth the trouble. And besides, football matches were performances in their own right, or at least close enough. Of course, that didn’t stop him from auditioning for the upcoming school musical in year 10 the instant he heard they were short on boys to fill male roles. He continued to be involved in productions throughout secondary school whenever schedules didn’t conflict too terribly with football, and finally dropped football entirely in year 13 to fully focus his efforts where his interest truly laid. 

Having discovered his passion for musical theatre in secondary school, Daniel went on to attend ArtsEd in London to pursue a BA… only to discover that the school was far too intense for his liking. He was able to keep up with the coursework just fine, but that was part of the problem as it quickly painted a target on his back in the eyes of classmates who were upset with being unable to claw their way past him despite his apparent lack of formal training. For his part, Daniel truly did feel bad about that - it didn’t seem fair to him either that so many people were working so much harder than him only to fall flat, even among peers who had beaten out other hopefuls for their spot at the school. Of course, discovering that his mother was Terpsichore, one of the Muses and goddess of dance and chorus explained things, but certainly didn’t help matters. Having natural talent was one thing, but having a goddess for a parent seemed like too unfair of an advantage - so when his mother suggested that he move to Icaria for his own safety, he went. 

 Despite his concerns about having an unfair advantage, he found himself auditioning for a role in an upcoming production at Deadpan Theatre shortly after moving. If there was anywhere where a little bit of a godly boost might be acceptable after all, he supposed it would be Icaria. Over the course of two years on the island, he built the beginnings of a life for himself - only for everything to come to a crashing halt after a chance encounter with one Ezra Sutton. In describing to Ezra the conversation he’d had with his mother that led him to move to Icaria, Daniel unfortunately made an offhand comment about what sort of disappearance could possibly make the gods concerned enough to start telling their children to move to one island. He probably would have forgotten his (eerily close to accurate) theory entirely if voicing it hadn’t led to Ezra taking him to the Meadows - just before opening night of a new show at Deadpan Theatre, no less. 

Two years later, Daniel reappeared along with the rest of the missing demigods. After letting his friends know he was alive he promptly left to visit his family before returning to Icaria once more to piece back together the life he’d started to build.

TASK #10 { A VERY WIZARD MUSICAL } – OPTIONAL

Music is an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color.

There have most likely been times when you are writing, and a song has come to mind for your character. You can’t help but muse, even if the character themselves can’t sing a single note in tune, how they would perform it if it were a musical. After watching the OUAT ( Once Upon A Time ) Musical Episode, as well as having been a strict follower of glee, Main Admin Shannon has decided it would be fun to bring the music to wizards in an unexpected twist:

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:

Rewrite songs to be relevant to the Harry Potter verse / Your Character, then write them performing it like it's something straight out of the television show Glee, a musical, etc. 

Assigned Song Types:  

THE SOLO: This can be a song that you just wish your character could sing, whether or not they can really sing or not, or a theme song for your character. Ultimately, it’s a song they’d sing by themselves ( perhaps with a band backing them. Or not. Logic doesn’t matter here. )

THE ENSEMBLE: This song should definitely be about your character in some respect, and it should be written as if it’s being sung by other characters, about your character. This would be even better if you got permission from other roleplayers to include their characters in your para, but don’t just include someone and write their actions, since that’s godmodding. They can be unaware people are singing about them... or very aware. It’s up to you!

THE THROWBACK: This is specifically for Hogwarts Alumni characters. If you want to write your character singing something that would’ve been relevant to your character back during their school days, with the setting being Hogwarts, this is your chance to do just that!

As far as this being a musical goes, it’ll be said that some sort of curse was cast upon Wizarding Britain that made everyone break out spontaneously into song with the inability to sing out of tune, there even being a ripple effect in time ( hence the throwbacks. ) The Ministry decided it was best to wipe everyone’s memory of it happening though, once they got everything under control: so no one will remember this happening. This is all definitely au-ish though, so please don’t mention this in your actual threads. :P

DANIEL EANSWORTH is a 24 year old HUMAN, who looks a lot like TOM HOLLAND. DANIEL spends time at Traceless because HE FOUND THE CAFE BY ACCIDENT. HE is known for BEING A TRIPLE THREAT, NEAR EXCESSIVE POLITENESS, AND HAVING NO IDEA THAT THE TOWN OF TRACELESS OR SUPERNATURAL BEINGS EXIST.

Hometown: Hertford, England Current Residence: London, England Special Abilities: Being a triple threat - The boy can sing, dance, and act! Dancing is definitely his first and truest love of the three though, and the one he’s best at. Near excessive politeness - he’s polite to a fault. Having no idea that the town of Traceless or supernatural beings exist - The spell that makes most humans come in and out of Traceless in a haze is more of a suggestion than a rule - and Daniel was pretty focused (on saying hi to his friend Chloe!) when he first stopped into Traceless, so he remembers the café pretty clearly and has been coming pretty frequently since discovering it. You’d think having a clear mind and being in the presence of so many supernatural beings would be a recipe for quickly discovering that supernatural beings exist, but nope! He has no idea. This is partly because of the various other spells the café has in place (making non-humans look human to unsuspecting guests, the menu board changing prices to match local currencies, the language enchantment, etc.), and partially because he generally isn’t the type to be suspicious of odd behavior. Everyone is different after all, and who is he to judge?

Character Background:

So far, Daniel has lived his entire life without knowing about the existence of supernatural beings. Still, if you were to ask him, he’d probably say his life was anything but ordinary. Things started out normally enough - he grew up with his father in Hertford, England. It wasn’t a big town, but it did have the distinct advantage of being about an hour’s drive from London. It was because of this that he had a chance to see a West End show at the age of nine, and promptly decided that there was nothing else he’d rather do with his life. It was tough making that a reality, especially considering his family wasn’t exactly flush with resources to be able to consistently send him to lessons, but - after years of training and saving up for whatever lessons he could afford, he managed to land himself a spot at Arts Educational for University. The program was intense, but after three years he had a developed skill set and a BA to show for it.  

Nowadays Daniel’s living his childhood dreams, working as a chorus member on London’s West End. One day he hopes to be able to land a lead role, but for now - he’s happy where he is. Even if where he is doesn’t pay well enough to afford more than a somewhat cramped flat that makes him miss the space and greenery he’d taken for granted in his hometown, he’d never trade it.

Within the last few months, Daniel’s begun frequenting a small café called Traceless. As far as he knows, it’s a perfectly normal café - the only reason he even noticed it at all was because one day he caught sight of his friend Chloe entering the establishment, and made the decision to pop in and say hello. Once he was inside it felt rather rude not to order anything, and once he’d ordered something he decided he might as well stay for a bit instead of rushing off. He wasn’t sure what it was, but there was something about the place’s ambiance that made it feel far away from London’s hustle and bustle, and so he found himself returning regularly. Will he ever discover its true nature?

Faceclaim/Humanoid Appearance: Tom Holland

True Appearance:  Like all Far'Ly'Dae, Daniel’s skin isn’t quite like a human’s or erkuss - it’s beige with olive green undertones, and somewhere between skin and a very soft wood in texture. He has ‘hair’ of bronze-green leaves (colour ref) that he keeps styled in a similar fashion to how they appear sformed (style ref). His leaves are a deep green in colour when he’s well-sunned, but take on more autumnal hues under light-reduced conditions as his body reduces chlorophyll production to conserve energy. His eyes are green, though flecks of pink and white can be found upon close inspection.

Backstory: Daniel was born and raised in a small town on Ly’Lor’Ke, the home planet of Ly’Daesun. It was a quiet place to grow up, best known for its crop exports to cities and planets with non Ly’Daesun populations. There was nothing wrong with it, and aside from the general anxiety that came with being alive, it was mostly comfortable - except for the quiet, persistent voice in the back of his mind telling him he was meant for something else. Not a lot of Earth media made it to the quiet little town, but out of what he was able to get his hands on, anything adjacent to musical theatre left him totally captivated. Becoming a dancer - that was the life he wanted, no matter how many times his family or anyone else tried to convince him how much happier he would be staying in the safety and security of his hometown.

When Daniel was twenty years old, he left his hometown in pursuit of his dreams - and quickly discovered that ‘making it’ in his chosen field was even more of a challenge than he’d anticipated. Between lessons, tracking down auditions, and holding down a day job to keep himself afloat until he hit his big break, it didn’t take long for him to run low on time and funds. Still, he wasn’t yet out of optimism when he met a fellow student who had big dreams like him, but was confident and charismatic in a way Daniel could certainly never hope to achieve for himself. The two had a whirlwind romance - or that was how Daniel saw it at the time, anyway. Looking back, things were already rocky when they first moved in together, but there was a lot he’d been willing to overlook in exchange for feeling wanted - and, though he didn’t want to admit it to himself, in exchange for splitting the rent and bringing costs down enough that he could actually afford to keep pursuing his dreams.

The two stayed together for a while, and both of their careers benefited from it - for his part, Daniel had managed to secure a small role in a local production. The pay was less than stellar, but it was enough to get by on in shared living conditions. Unfortunately, it got pretty difficult to keep pretending everything was fine in their relationship as the signs became more frequent and apparent that his boyfriend wasn’t as interested or loyal as he’d hoped. Unable to keep it to himself any longer even despite his aversion to confrontation, Daniel plucked up the courage to raise his concerns. The ensuing fight left him single, and by extension roommate-less. Paying the rent grew challenging after that, but he managed to stay afloat by taking on additional work outside of his theatre gig - and when the show he was in closed, that side job became his main job while he sought a new role. Working enough hours to pay the bills made it extremely challenging to find the time to keep his skills sharp, much less find, attend, and excel at auditions. Then the rent went up, and he knew something had to give. He could stay in the city and dedicate the bulk of his time to a dead-end job that would keep the bills paid but wouldn’t get him any closer to his dreams, or leave.

The trouble was, there weren’t many places he could afford to go. Home, sure - but he certainly wasn’t going to run into his big break there. Worse still, he worried that if he did return home, he would get too comfortable there and resign himself to the simpler life he’d tried to leave behind. No, what he needed was a job someplace uncomfortable enough that he wouldn’t possibly be tempted to stay, one that allowed him to actually save up, and see a mix of places to get some idea of where to go when he got back on his feet. The only problem? With his lack of qualifications, working as a mate on a smuggler’s ship was just about the only position he could actually land that fit the bill. The notion was entirely terrifying, not to mention that the ethics would be dubious at best - really, the only kind of smuggling ship he could even consider was one that dealt in the smuggling of Earth goods. That was still terrifying to consider, of course, but surely the sort of smuggling responsible for furnishing the galaxy with Swing Time, Singin’ in the Rain, Grease, and other such classics couldn’t be all bad - right? 

Skills:

Daniel gets by well enough with singing and acting to be considered a triple threat, and he does very much like getting to do those when he performs, but dancing is his true passion.

He’s polite to a fault, and very much a rule-follower - so it’s probably not amazing for his anxiety that he’s found employment on a smugglers’ ship.

While Daniel does tend to take in nutrients via supplements or through his feet, where his roots are strongest, he does have the ability to grow thin, fine roots from anywhere on his body. He does tend to keep his roots retracted, save for when he uses them to check on the soil where plants are growing. If it’s a plant he’s familiar with, he is adept at determining which nutrients need to be added to the soil in order to ensure healthy plant growth.

As the above suggests, Daniel is skilled at keeping plants alive and flourishing.

EVENT: BIRTHSDAY

Happiest of birthdays to Theo and Daniel, who fortuitously have Earth birthdays very close together! The two will be celebrating in style at the hippest bar/nightclub in the vicinity of the Theme Park Club's clubhouse on the Earth equivalent of October 29, 2023.

The venue itself is called "Seven" because the building is seven-sided- a heptagon, if you will. Each of the walls in this adults-only club is painted a different color. The colors are somewhat muted with some grayish tones, but definitely distinct in color:

Red wall: Bar

Purple wall: Bathroom (enclosed space, features a small chamber that you can enter for a fee if you need to rehydrate)

Green wall: Bar

Orange wall: Booths and tables

Beige wall: Entrance

Yellow wall: Bar

Magenta wall: Photos of patrons

Regarding the picture wall... anyone can put up their picture if they ask the bartenders at the green wall bar. Some of these patrons are moderately famous. Qjun has about ten pictures on the wall with various patrons. Junyi is possibly in three pictures. However, she is aggressively blurry in two and it's only the top of her head in one of the others... so it's hard to tell. Oplo is in one of the pictures. He is kissing his wife in it. They look very happy to be at Seven while wearing those hats with crazy straws attached.

The most important thing to note about this club is that pets are allowed! There is a cover fee for your pet, but the yellow wall's bar sells treats for many common pets on this planet. However, one out of every four days, pets are not allowed at all. Luckily(?) this is a day where pets are allowed.

The doorman recommends to all guests that they read the menus before ordering anything, but doesn't say why. The drinks here are varied. There are a few trendy Earth-style drinks (for some reason, the bartenders call every kind of the pricy imported Earth beer a pilsner), but the real fun comes with the house specials. The house specials are vibrant, brightly colored drinks named after the nine muses. The Urania and The Euterpe are toxic to anybody but carreki, and will make anyone who isn't a carrek quite ill. Vanniree might be a little better off than other species, but not by much. The Melpomene contains some semi-illegal hallucinogenics. All of the drinks are formulated to give a great experience for carreki, though.

The water served at this club is exceptionally clear and pure. The food is almost exclusively soup. Sweet soup, savory soup, watery soup... Whatever you can think of, you can purchase from the red bar, and add a variety of crunchy fixings.

Outside food is allowed in only if it is to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or evading the law.

The music is popping. There's quite the variety of music, from EDM remixes of local folk songs, to German metal, to 70s disco music. You never really know what you will get, but it all has a good beat to dance to. The DJ (located in the center of the bar) does take requests for a small fee.

The crew of Prosperity are invited to attend this splendid birthday party! The party event is a costume party... but none of the other people at the bar are going to be wearing costumes because they don't really understand what Halloween is. Also the Theme Park Club Members will be there too. Everyone is hopeful that the birthday boys and their friends enjoy the night!

PLOT DROP 17: HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF

The event on the KBW was moderately successful for the Prosperity. While the ship did manage to pick up three new crew members (Theo, Ian, and Daniel), there were also some very uncomfortable revelations. Perhaps the most dramatic was the reveal that Gwen Volnal was married to (of all people) Mark Espionage from The Bat Ray. A lesser-known revelation that influenced the Gwen reveal is actually known only to only Daphne Rux: that her secret ex-girlfriend Makhaira Espionage (yes, the very same Espionage family) wanted her back and it was at least partly for a promotion! The only person that has any information about Daphne and Makhaira’s past relationship outside of the Espionage family is actually Stella Sarasvati, whom was only given this information due to being in gerbil form at the time. Stella swore herself to secrecy, but Daphne does not trust Stella (or anyone else) to vent about this issue. Stella had her own strange drama when she and Ian, another member of her rare species, ran into Bucket again, who is in denial about being that same species. Bucket was essentially threatened by Laurie (reeling from first I-love-yous and almost sucking her boss Skylar’s blood) into backing off. Ryder Astrea experienced a deeply uncomfortable situation where all of his past hook-ups were in the same place at the same time, and Robin Astrea had a less uncomfortable but still odd experience when his ex-boyfriend Theo Seong took up the invitation to join the ship.

Needless to say, the crew was excited to accomplish a collective dream of seeing the band My Chemical Romance in concert. The Sydney, Australia performance on March 20th went great until mate Greg decided to (completely platonically) bring a new friend on board the ship to show off his rock collection. Greg (beloved, but not known for good judgment) lost track of dates and times and who was supposed to be crew, and HJ Violet was many miles away from Earth before anyone realized what was wrong.

With a human not in the know of aliens aboard, the Prosperity was seriously at risk of further Galactic Union scrutiny. Daphne recommended that the group pretend that HJ was a descendant of the colony of Tarryville, perhaps related to one of the crew members. Which one could be decided later. For now, though, the ship is going to need to take a detour to somewhere less scrutinized  before heading to somewhere else. Robin and Daphne discussed the situation, and decided that the KBW would be the best place to regroup. After some debate by the crew and what to do, the ship will arrive back on the KBW early on March 24 to do some group bonding and figure out what is even happening with HJ. The KBW will be much emptier than it was during the event, so we should all have more privacy.

To make things more complicated... Karmel has been hinting that she has other news (we can only assume regarding her weird immortality mission) to dispense before leaving the KBW.

EVENT #27 { VALENTINE’S DAY } – MANDATORY

“Valentine’s Day or Saint Valentine’s Day is an occasion celebrated on 14 February in both the Muggle world and the wizarding world. It is the traditional day on which people express their love for each other, particularly romantic love, by sending Valentine’s cards, presenting flowers, or offering sweets.”

Valentine’s Day is known to either bring joy or sorrow to every soul, young and old, witch or muggle-- a trend that transcends both worlds known to mankind. However, this year at Hogwarts, the Event Planning Committee is hoping to make it just the former in the aged halls. This year, Hogwarts will be hosting a Candy Themed Semi-Formal on the holiday, called the Sweethearts Dance, and plenty of treats are in store. There’ll be pictures, prizes, candy eating contests, and much more-- an invite has even been extended to the neighboring wizarding school, The Irish Academy of Magic, in the hopes that lonely souls will find their kin rather than be alone on the love themed holiday. 

The dance itself will be hosted in the Great Hall, where it’s said that the walls will even be decorated with edible candy, every surface said to be sweet and decadent. It’ll start at 7PM, and will end at midnight. All Students will be expected to back in their dorms by 1AM, with the help of the Head Girl and Boy, as well as all of the prefects. Since this is a semi-formal, dresses have to be at minimum at the knees, and boys are expected to at least wear dress pants and buttoned long sleeved shirts. The faculty fully expects students to not take advantage of this and show up in something inappropriate. Anyone showing up in anything inappropriate or not under the dress code will end up having points revoked from their house, or possible detentions. 

It is also preferred that you don’t go alone, even if it’s with friends. 

In fact, the Committee is so hellbent on inclusiveness and unity that they’ve planned a Secret Cupid sort of event, which will be taking place the week before the dance itself. Participating students will be paired with someone anonymously, and send each other a short description of the other, limited to a paragraph. They’ll then receive a gift in response and an additional clue to who it is. If you figure out who it is before the dance, that’s great, but it’s alright if you don’t-- there’ll be a meeting station at the dance itself. The staff at Hogwarts think it’s a great idea, and are hoping it’ll promote unity within the four houses. 

SECRET CUPID:

Event Start Date: March 1st. 

Short Description: Students will be anonymous paired (ic) with another student. They’ll then send ( submit ) a short description of themselves, limited to a paragraph ( four sentences. ) The students will use the description they receive to pick out the perfect gift. When they send ( submit ) the gift, they’ll send one more clue along with it to help the other student figure out who they are. If they don’t figure out who the other student is before the dance, they’ll find out at the “Meeting Station.” 

Directions: If you would like your character to participate in the “secret cupid” festivities, all you have to do is send an ask to the main. You’ll then be paired randomly with another character. While the characters will have no idea who it is, the roleplayers will ooc to avoid confusion. You’ll then plot everything out together! A list will be posted below and updated each time a new pair is made.

“SWEETHEARTS DANCE” ACTIVITIES:

Entertainment– DJing services will be from WWN, Wizarding Wireless Network, and will be blasting both Muggle and Wizarding tunes when not playing ball appropriate music. The host will be Glenda Chittock of the Witching Hour. The Orchestra will be playing the first Waltz of the night. Members of the Frog Choir are encouraged to sign up to sing “slow jams.” 

Food- There will be three course meals available to be served, as well as the expected desserts and magically refilling drinks to keep the students happy and well. On top of that, since the dance itself is candy themed, it’ll be everywhere. Literally. Even the furniture and decorations will be edible. Rumor has it there’ll also be a chocolate fountain big enough to swim in. As usual, the legal age for alcoholic beverages is sixteen, and third years and up can have butter beer. 

Contests- There’s going to be several candy eating contests of different kinds occurring during the dance, such as Bertie Botts, Chocolate Frogs, Chocolate Wands, Sugar Quills, Sherbert Lemons, etc. They’ll have to eat five pounds of it within fifteen minutes, and whoever eats the most will win a year supply. 

Pictures- Get pictures taken with your date and friends! Leave your names with the photographer, and they will be developed with the special picture potion and delivered via. owl at a latter date.

IRISH ACADEMY OF MAGIC STUDENTS:

There will be an option the day before the dance to create a temporary character from the Irish Academy of Magic. I just think it’d be fun to have these characters interacting as it’s very obvious that there’s a lot more to the Wizarding World than just Hogwarts. You’ll be allowed to make them sideblog characters as well, as you won’t be able to interact with them after the event unless I ever decide to do something similar with the same school again ( Combined School Tournament, anyone?? ) HOWEVER, transfer students are allowed to be applied for in the roleplay, so it’ll be up to you if you’d like to make them into an official muse after the fact. If you think this may possibly happen, I would suggest not making them a side blog.

Directions: The day before the dance, message the main with the character’s name, faceclaim, age, and year. They’ll be added below plus temporarily added in a section on the faceclaim list so that they’re not taken. 

IMPORTANT OOC DETAILS:

The Sweethearts Dance will start on MARCH 8TH AT 12 AM EST and end on on MARCH 12 AT 12 AM EST, though it’ll take place IC on February 14th. Secret Cupid will start on March 1st and end on the 8th. You’re allowed to message the main about the Iris Academy students on the 7th. This will all purely be a dash event. Please put all dance posts (including any private thread starters, pictures of outfits, anything related at all) under the tag wizard:sweetheartsdance, and all secret cupid posts under wizard:secretcupid.

I understand if you can’t get online, but if you’re online I expect your character to participate at one point or another. I will message you if you’re online and not participating in the event at all. Mandatory does mean something in this world.

Please try and make your character bring a date! It’s not mandatory, but whether they ask their best friend, their ex, or some random person, it’s still more fun with someone else.
