HAIL TO THE KING, BABY
Chapter One:
Pairing: Ash Williams x Fem!Maxwell!Reader
Pronouns: She/Her
Takes Place: Ash vs. Evil Dead
Rating: M for Mature Audiences, 18+ ONLY
Warnings (Whole Story): Huge Age Gap, Sexual Content/SMUT, Graphic Descriptions of Gore, Violence, Swearing, typical Evil Dead stuff and Slurs (It’s Ash, C’mon).
Summary: You are Kelly’s fraternal twin sister. Your looks may be similar, but your personalities couldn’t be any more different. You were calm and collected, the one who makes rational decisions; the twin who graduated from Harvard. Kelly, on the other hand, was short-tempered, a highschool dropout, the other twin who makes decisions based on idiocy. Though, one evening, you decided to make the long drive to Michigan to give her a visit, but ended up shit’s creek instead.
A/n if you have any better names for the Fanfiction, let me know, lol.
Tumblr media
Stepping out of your vehicle, you sighed, pulling your arms above your head and stretched, a satisfying crack sounding throughout your eardrums.
“Mmph.” You moaned, feeling your muscles relax, contorting back into their position from being bunched up during the thirteen hour drive.
You shut your door with a bump of the hip, clicking your car keys in the process, locking it.
Smiling, you jogged towards the entrance, excitement glinting in your eyes and the automatic glass slid at the motion of your presence.
Glancing around the store, you spotted a middle-aged man; his hair was charcoal-like and slicked back, his sideburns were trimmed and white, easily contrasting with his coiffure. He was broad-shouldered and surprisingly buff for his age.
Squinting your eyes, you managed to make out his nametag, “Ashley?” You mumbled, reading it quietly.
“Now take these lightbulbs to the back and don’t break ‘em.” You heard a shorter-older man speak, annoyance dripping from his words.
“Okay, Mr. Roper. Right away, Sir.” Ashley spoke, bringing his hand up to his forehead, saluting Mr. Roper.
He tsk-ed at the reply, but walked away.
You grinned, taking long strides towards the male ahead of you, but stopped, seeing as he was picking up the lightbulbs. “Oh, boy.” You winced, seeing that the top of the box was opened.
As if on cue, Ashley swung it over his shoulder, not realizing that it wasn’t sealed and the bulbs fell, clattering against the ground and shattered.
He dropped the box, shock smearing across his chiseled features. He looked around frantically, shh-ing no one in particular; a reflex on his part.
You stifled a laugh, seeing Ashely waltz across the broken mess, grabbing the broom and pushing millions of shards under the stockholder.
Quirking a brow, you looked around for a garbage bin.
“Bingo.” You silently cheered, seeing a bin close by.
You gripped the handle, wheeling it towards the negligent worker.
“Here you go.” You smiled, interrupting his hasty cleaning.
“Oh, thanks!” Ashley grinned, resting his non-wooded hand on the broom. “You are?” He asked, eyeing you up and down, a small smirk toying at his lips.
“(Y/n).” You mumbled.
“I got this…” A tanned man suddenly spoke, catching you off guard, gently moving the garbage bin away.
You smiled, nodding at him, then looked back at Ashley.
“Pablo!” Ashley bellowed.
You folded your arms together, unintentionally giving your bust a lift.
Ashley noticed, his thick brows arching, a pleased smile tugging upwards.
“Good news.” Pablo spoke, his moustache wiggling with each movement of his lip. “I got some turkey burgers, you know, we can grill and watch a little Monday Night Raw tonight?”
“Ah, tonight’s bad.” Ashley stated, “I mean I just came in to get my breast— I mean check..” He shook his head, snatching his eyes away from your plumped boobs. “‘Cause, uh, I may need to skip town.” He blurted, not sure if he should have said anything, avoiding both yours and Pablo’s gaze.
You tapped your foot, “Um, I don’t mean to interrupt your conversation, but uh, I’m looking for Kelly Maxwell?”
“Kelly Maxwell? My neighbour Kelly Maxwell?” Pablo asked, staring at you.
“Yeah, she’s my twin.”
“Kelly has a twin!?” Pablo shouted in disbelief.
You slowly nodded, rubbing your forearms.
“No offence, but you don’t look like twins.” He mumbled, rubbing the back of his head.
“None taken, we’re actually fraternal. Nothin’ similar about us, well, maybe the nose and mouth, but that’s it.” You began, “And the fact we shared a womb at one point.”
You giggled, a blush tinting your cheeks.
Ashley looked down at you, his heart skipping a few beats as the sweet sound of your laugh erupted from your esophagus, reiterating around the walls of his ears, making a permanent home in his mind.
In that moment he forgot that there was evil out there, that there were deadites hunting him and that the necronomicon wasn’t in the back of his car, waiting to be snatched up.
He gulped, feeling the palpitations becoming stronger as your laugh grew louder, especially at the cheesy jokes that Pablo was spitting out.
His breath hitched as he heard his name fall from your plush pink lips, “I’m sorry, what?” He flushed.
“Can you take me to Kelly, Ashley?” You asked, fluttering your lashes, your (e/c) eyes growing bigger.
“Eh-hm, yeah, she’s working the register right now.” He coughed, clearing his throat, placing his carved-hand at the slope of your back, gently leading you towards your elder-twin.

"An Israeli soldier mockingly makes a video of himself cooking steak in war torn Gaza. The soldier is encouraging people to follow him on social media accounts for updates on the situation in the field. The besieged Palestinian enclave marked the start of the new year with continued Israeli bombings, bringing the death toll in the region close to 22,000. In less than three months of relentless bombardment, approximately 4% of Gaza's population have either been killed, wounded, or gone missing, highlighting the severe humanitarian impact of the conflict"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[id: video captions, with some minor background explanation:
Gaza, occupied Palestine
31 December, 2023
[@]matanya_yanai (original uploader)
Let’s make the first steak in Gaza. (Camera shows 2 steaks cooking on a travel-sized grill, and then pans out to show the front of a bulldozer, the bucket is dirtied)
(The soldier, smiling and geared up, is standing in front of a tank; the wheels are caked with dried mud) All we need is a steak, barbeque, a fighting equipment, and cover for the close. (The soldier pulls out the ingredients in that order via jump-cuts. He shows the camera his gun for “fighting equipment”, and when he says “cover for the close,” it shows another soldier taking partial cover, looking for someone/thing to shoot. You can see the background is nothing but hills of dirt and destroyed bits of trees.)
So I lit the barbeque using the quick method between the attacks, I arrange the grills, I lit them with oil and there is no budget in Gaza for onions, so I did it with potato. And you will hear the noise. (The soldier goes through his cooking process: he clumps up paper towels and places them in the bottom of the grill along with pieces of charcoal, and squirts around some lighter fluid, then the camera jump-cuts to a decent sized fire, protected from the wind by the bucket of the bulldozer. The captions are surrounded by a blurred bar, so it’s difficult to see the man cutting open a package of food, probably the potatoes. He squirts out a bit more lighter fluid and the fire jumps upwards. He finally places the steaks on the grill and you can hear the sizzle, hence “hear the noise.”)
So as you can see, I’m actually going to be dine-in, in the field and I’ll share all of Gaza with you. So of course all the great fighters also tasted because they have to keep the line. And in conclusion, a great steak, a great experience. If you liked it, follow me on Instagram for more updates on the field. (The camera pans over the steak as it grills, still sizzling. It then jump-cuts to the soldier taking if off the grill bare-handed and cutting it, smiling all the while. He eats a chunk and then it cuts to him sharing it with 5 other soldiers, all geared up, happy, and holding guns.) /id]

Reunited, and It's in the Woods!
"Fleetwood Mac alright?" One hand on the wheel, another on her battered leather CD case, Shaun rifles through her collection as they made their way down the road. Of course, still surfacing often to keep her eyes on the road. Meeting the look on Lilith's face, she can only laugh.
"What? You should expect this by now, being friends with a dyed-in-the-wool dyke. Plus, it's a road trip. Can't go wrong with a little Americana." Before Lilith can protest, she wiggles the 'Rumors' album from its case, sliding it into the console. "Blame Casey for lending me the vinyl."
Glancing across the aisle, though, she can only crick a slight smile; the further they got from Williamsburg, the more Lilith seemed to uncoil and relax. Shaun had only gotten to see her once—she'd made good on that 'make-up' night, and cuddling was an understatement, not that she'd minded—so it was nice to see her again, knowing the stress of everything could be put on pause for a weekend. "Lucky you, I got the window fixed. So you've got an out if Stevie Nicks isn't worth living for."
Shaun just amplifies the pain by cranking up the volume, pausing to rifle for a cigarette. "Really, though...I'm glad we could do this." Though, surely to Lilith's chagrin, it only gets worse as 'Second Hand News' fades into 'Dreams'. Usually Shaun wasn't too forward in bursting into song, but she'd be remiss to not give into the good vibes that were already circulating. A pleasant weekend away in the woods, a full cooler of booze and steaks, and the company of wayward friends. She couldn't help to take a bit of joy in it.
"Now here you go again, you say you want your freedom Well, who am I to keep you down? It's only right that you should play the way you feel it But listen carefully to the sound of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat, drives you mad In the stillness of remembering what you had And what you lost And what you had And what you lost
Oh, thunder only happens when it's raining Players only love you when they're playing Say, women, they will come and they will go When the rain washes you clean, you'll know You'll know"
While at first the sameness of Williamsburg transitioned to that of the city outskirts, it too eventually faded into smaller and smaller towns and taller and taller trees. As the towering of distant mountains moved closer, Shaun knew their drive was nearing its end. And thank god for the truck, for the dirt road curling around the sierra's base wasn't as closely maintained as she'd figure. She couldn't help but wish Tek the best of luck in her little beater. But as shit as the way up had been, she couldn't help but to find the quaint, old log cabin quite charming. Among a smattering of maples and oaks, the climb straightened out into a small jut of straight land before spilling downhill towards the lake. With its green tin roof and layer of red paint plastered over the door, and the distant shed with a weathered canoe tipped against its wall, she couldn't help but to think "L.L. Bean cover".
"Shit. Good job, Lilith." Shaun chuckles, pulling past the overhanging porch to leave room for the others. "I didn't know you were into Deliverance chic. It's even got one of those fancy fire pits." In the back, a swing, some wooden lawn chairs, and an overturned log circled the metal grate in its center, leaving plenty of room between it and a charcoal grill. "Want to christen the place? Check for badgers? I can start unloading." She cuts the engine, sitting contentedly in the cooler air gifted by the elevation for a moment.

“Homemade Japanese Dumplings (Dango)” by Jun’s Kitchen
Transcript by CCKN is under the cut
[0:05] [On Screen: Jun’s Kitchen Logo]
[0:19] [Text on screen: Sakura/Cherry Petals]
[0:35] Jun to Haku: You found yomogi?
[0:36] [Text on screen: Japanese Mugwort/Yomogi]
[0:37] [Text on screen: (For sanitary reasons, I’ll use the one I’m growing at home.)]
[0:42] Jun (after a muffled chuckle): Good job.
[1:00] Jun: Oh!
[1:32] Okay.
[1:33] Let's go get more ingredients, buddy.
[1:38] [Text on screen: Rice flour]
[1:52] [Text on screen: Japanese Mugwort/Yomogi]
[2:01] Jun: Hey guys.
[2:02] I'm sorry for the long wait,
[2:04] but my house and kitchen are finally done.
[2:06] I named this channel like this 10 years ago
[2:08] and now I can cook in my own kitchen.
[2:11] Thank you so much.
[2:13] Yomogi?
[2:14] Want a sniff too, Nagi?
[2:17] (chuckles)
[2:21] Yomogi.
[2:22] Smells good?
[2:25] This time I'm making traditional Japanese sweets
[2:29] called Sanshoku-Dango
[2:31] and Mitarashi-Dango.
[2:33] Sanshoku-Dango is three different colored dumplings and
[2:35] Mitarashi-Dango is grilled dumplings with
[2:38] sweet soy sauce syrup.
[2:40] The three colors are usually pink, white, and green.
[2:44] One of the theories suggests that
[2:45] the color pink stands for sakura and spring,
[2:48] white for snow and winter,
[2:51] and green for grass and summer.
[2:57] Oh! My back!
[3:00] Oh!
[3:16] I'm using sakura and yomogi for sanshoku-dango,
[3:18] but you don't have to use them.
[3:21] You can just use food coloring.
[3:49] First I'm going to make yomogi paste.
[3:51] This will be used in green dango.
[4:04] [Text on screen: Matcha / Green Tea Powder]
[4:04] You can use matcha green tea powder
[4:05] instead of green food coloring if you like.
[4:08] [Text on screen: Dried Sakura Petals]
[4:17] This is his third of fourth break.
[4:22] (snickers)
[4:26] Nagi!
[4:28] Such healthy boy.
[4:31] (humming chuckles)
[4:44] Okay.
[4:46] Next, I'm going to make dango dough.
[4:57] Mix rice flour, sugar, and hot water in a bowl
[5:00] until it becomes as soft as cat beans.
[5:08] Hi Haku.
[5:10] Can I touch your beans?
[5:12] Soft as cat beans.
[5:15] Ohohohohohohoho!
[5:19] It's soft- Oh!
[5:21] but somewhat like bounces back.
[5:24] It’s a very pleasant feeling, I would say.
[5:27] Hehehe.
[5:29] Ohohoho.
[5:30] Thank you!
[5:31] Thank you!
[5:38] [Text on screen: Yomogi & Green Tea Powder]
[5:41] [Text on screen: Sakura & Food Coloring (red)]
[6:32] This one is for mitarashi-dango.
[6:41] Boil them for about five minutes until
[6:43] they all float,
[6:46] and then continue boiling for one more minute.
[6:51] Put them in cold water.
[7:03] Skewer them on a bamboo stick, and done.
[7:13] [Text on Screen: Done!]
[7:13] Sanshoku-dango.
[7:16] Oish!
[7:18] You can make them any color or size you like.
[7:20] I made some pastel blue and yellow
[7:22] for my wife since it's her favorite colors.
[7:26] Next I'm going to make the syrup for mitarashi-dango.
[7:28] Mix potato starch, sugar,
[7:32] and soy sauce in a pot on a medium low heat
[7:34] for about a minute until it becomes thick.
[7:40] Next I'm going to charcoal grill the dango.
[7:42] You can use a toaster oven or frying pan instead.
[8:43] Tada!
[8:44] Smells good, sounds good!
[8:48] Yosh. (translation note: similar to “All right/Yes.)”
[8:50] Ja ikimasu ka. (translation note: similar to “Here goes.” when trying something out.)
[9:16] Mitarashi-dango, looks so good!
[9:19] [Text on Screen: Done!]
[9:24] Smells good?
[9:28] Itadakimasu.
[9:32] Mmm! It's a taste of Japanese festival. Hehehehe.
[9:35] I'm gonna add more syrup.
[9:42] Yeah?
[9:46] Mmm!
[9:49] Hmmhmm.
[9:52] Mm!
[9:53] Sanshoku-dango, mo oishi. [translation note: Sanshoku-dango, very delicious.]
[9:56] Okay.
[10:00] Right, I'm gonna take my time to eat more dango.
[10:03] Okay.
[10:05] Oh Nagi’s - his-
[10:08] I don't even know how many times -
[10:12] His fifth or sixth or seventh cat wheel break exercise time.
[10:18] Such healthy boy!
[10:22] Hehe. Okay.
[10:24] Ow!
[10:27] Hi Haku.
[10:28] Smells good?
[10:29] Mm.
[10:31] Poki, there's no sauce on my finger anymore.
[10:33] Why are you still licking?
[10:36] Thank you guys so much for watching.
[10:38] See you guys later.
[10:39] Bye!

“I do not think this is right.” Rory observes, brows creasing as he jumps back from the charcoal grill he’s been working on for a while. Parkley’s run off somewhere, his focus between the overwhelming urge of any father: to grill, and the duty of a father: to ensure his 5 year old doesn’t get abducted, hurt, or start a toddler cult based on the color yellow. again. He adjusts his hat over messy brown hair, face contorting in distaste for a moment as he moves to start the fire again. “Had to be fire I’m in danger from, couldn’t have been like, paying taxes that kills a vampire, has to be fire? Feels fuckin’ cheap.”
Tumblr media
He’s lamenting to himself more than anything, at least until his daughter wheels back around, shooting a complete stranger in the face with her water gun before zipping off into the sea of people once more. “Parky- oh dammit. Sorry about her, she’s just- real excited to have a day out, I guess, she didn’t ruin nothin, did she? No wet pages in your book ‘er whatever?” He questions, watching his daughter dive for ‘cover’ behind the cooler at her mother’s blanket, able to draw his focus off her for a moment to ensure she hadn’t ruined something of the other man’s when she’d cleanly blasted him in the face.

The History of Hibachi
The history of hibachi is as rich and flavorful as the dishes it produces. Originating in Japan, hibachi cooking has been around for centuries, dating back to the Heian period (794-1185).
In its early days, hibachi was primarily used as a heating device, with charcoal or wood burned inside a box or bowl to provide warmth during the cold winter. It wasn't until later that it evolved into a form of cooking.
During the Edo period (1603-1868), hibachi grills began to gain popularity among Japanese households. These portable grills let families cook their meals outdoors, providing heat and deliciously smoky flavors.
Over time, hibachi became synonymous with teppanyaki-style cooking - where skilled chefs would showcase their culinary prowess by preparing meals right before their guests' eyes on a flat iron grill. This interactive dining experience quickly gained traction and became a staple in Japanese cuisine.
Today, hibachi mobile catering brings this unique dining experience to various events and gatherings. Whether it's weddings, corporate parties, or food festivals – hibachi catering adds an element of excitement and entertainment while serving mouth-watering dishes like grilled meats, seafood, vegetables, and fried rice.
The tradition of hibachi continues to evolve as chefs experiment with different ingredients and techniques to create innovative dishes that satisfy modern palates.
