Okay as my all-time favourite Ted lasso artist and blog; what are your honest thoughts about the finale episode??

i've still only seen the episode once but just for you, sweet nonnie, i will rewatch it for more thoughts, but for now:

LOVED probably 80-90% of the episode and it was bittersweet and emotional af

every single one of the callbacks made me so happy especially the offside and nate's play

the so long, farewell scene?? are you kidding me???

trent. TRENT. my sweet gal. my little guy. i'm glad we got a final few ted/trent scenes in there and so grateful for the crumbs and mr lance's wardrobe.

i'd hoped for the whole season they weren't gonna do the love triangle thing with roy & jamie again, but unfortunately they did and even left it till the finale which was disappointing, but i did like how they resolved it, even if the throuple didn't happen (:/ or at least didn't happen onscreen)

i needed more nate this episode - i was hoping he wouldn't return just as a kitman and i wanted to see how that conversation went, but as always nick delivers on the stuff he DID get and i'm eternally grateful for his presence in the show

seeing the full diamond dogs just brings me so much fucking joy god i love six (6) men

barbara is such a little freak i love her and everything about her

one final triumph of tony head's rupert was incredibly satisfying to see i love old men. but WHERE IS BEX. i needed to see the rebecca/bex/ms kakes revenge storyline

re. the tedbecca of it all, i really thought they were gonna do it till the airport scene and am still surprised they didn't, which meant that the first fakeout scene was absolutely uncalled for and felt really in bad faith after the fact, even as a person who does not actively ship them

now for the stuff i REALLY. really. did not like, as evidenced by a number of dozens of tweets and two long stern worded replies in brendan's ama: absolutely unbelievable that beardjane were endgame when basically no other established ships/relationships ended up being endgame. very disappointed about the direction the show took them in and the writers' not realizing how harmful it can be to celebrate a toxic and abusive relationship. most important i think beard deserves better than jane but maybe that's just the beard fan in me talking.

i wish ted & beard would've had a deeper conversation re. jane & leaving london before they literally got on the flight, and gave us more resolution with these two men whom i dearly love and want to see more of - it does NOT help when brendan says they "don't see each other for years" because cmon. this is a feel good tv show. you don't have to bring your "real life friendship" stuff into here. make us feel good about ted leaving please.

and finally, ted leaving, which i definitely expected. i just didn't expect that the people trying to make him stay to not have any effect on him at all. i agree with others that ted seemed quite distanced and detached for the whole episode, but they'll most likely never end up addressing this ever again. i wish he'd explored more options than just "leave permanently and never come back" - and ended up being the same place he started before he came to london, but i appreciate the effort he is making for henry.

as for the future of the show, i hope there'll be a spin off with maybe some of the existing characters but definitely a whole new showrunning/writing/creating team, i would love to see other's interpretations for the characters & universe i've grown to love over the past year and a half.

so yeah, that's about all i can think of re. the finale. i was holding out for the last 15 mins of flashforward montage to be a dream sequence but brendan debunked that theory pretty definitively yesterday, so there's that. i appreciate the show for what it was to me and forgive it for what it wasn't, and i will still be enjoying the bits i enjoyed from it wholeheartedly - it was not a perfect show, but it was a great show to have enjoyed over the past year and a half and to have shared with the rest of y'all. i cannot wait to see what the universe, and everyone who was involved with the show will go on to do next and you'll be damned if i wasn't gonna follow jimmy lance's career until he is fully out of work. richmond till we die <3

No, actually I will never be over Annabeth throwing her knife into the ocean hoping Percy will notice and come help only to have Percy, king among boyfriends, make the most dramatic ass entrance, knocking out attackers with a giant wave, ocean waves cascading behind him as he casually walks up onto the beach to Annabeth, hands her her knife and says “I think you dropped this.” Fucking legend.

How does Ford react about compliments? Not only in a flirty way, but very nonchalant as "you look handsome today" and then the person go on about their day. Little praising comments here and there

Ford blushes. Whether it's in a platonic/nonchalant or a flirty way, if you really gush about his looks or brains he would end up going tomato red 😄 especially his looks, because he isn't used to being told he's handsome - will trip up a little on his words when he replies, feels awkward accepting such compliments, doesn't want to be vain and doesn't quite believe it (at least not without a lot of external persuasion).

On anything to do with his intelligence he's more blasé, he's heard it a lot, but he's still happy that you complimented him. If it's specifically to do with his actions (things he does) - like "thanks for helping me, what would I do without you" - he's deeply touched by the fact that you appreciate it/him. Could be as simple as reaching the top shelf, for example, but it makes him feel useful.

Praising him will also make him blush a little, and he subtly wants to do more to please you because it boosts his confidence/ego so much! [and if you think I relate to seeking academic validation to feel worthy like Ford does in the show, no I don't? That's crazy that you would think that! 😳😅]

I'm a little confused about what Y/N works as. To me, they look like a manager, kind of, but they have a staff hat, so I assume that means they're a lower/general employee. Do they work with Sun and Moon directly or do they just see the boys often when they're working?

So, this is something I'm INCREDIBLY glad I got an ask for, as Y/N's role is very plot relevant to the catalyst event of the fic. (In a way...)

To start off, you're actually half-right on the manager idea! In Chasing Stars, every Pizza-Plex employee is meant to have a 'supervisor' for the first month or so - the person they can go to for help or clarification instead of bothering upper management with their plebeian pleas. This supervisor is also meant to give the employee under them their welcoming tour, along with their uniform. The supervisor is always the most experienced (via time there worked) in the same position (ex. food staff, custodian, P&S) as the person they're supervising, and don't actually have much authority over them.

This is how things usually go, HOWEVER, when Y/N was accepted into their role as General Staff, there wasn't anyone else currently in that position (the previous ones 'left' rather quickly. Hm.) This resulted in them not receiving a supervisor, along with a stark lack of instructions. Sucks for them I guess!

But what sucks even more is that shortly after being hired, ANOTHER general staff member joins the team, and since Y/N is technically the most experienced General Staff member... They become her supervisor.

Who is this mysterious girl? Why, Vanessa A. of course!

Vanessa's nickname for the reader in the fic is 'Boss', and despite Y/N trying to correct her that: A. They have have literally no jurisdiction over her and B. That they're just as clueless as she is, she insists upon the name. Even after she gets put on Security duty due to [SPOILER], she keeps term for Y/N. (Interspersed with a more fond nickname that I shall not disclose yet).

Vanessa and the readers relationship is a significant and complicated one that's going to change a lot throughout the fic. In fact, I'd call it the second most important relationship in terms of plot/themes, after the DCA. But overall, I'd say they're... 'good friends'.

As for the last part of your question - which yeesh, sorry for the yap session - the role of General Staff is to do whatever odd jobs are left over after everyone is assigned their work, but more importantly, they can be called on by any animatronic or other staff member that happens to need help with their job. You can basically summon them like your personal butler. Of course, Sun and Moon abuse this ability to the extreme, which means that Y/N ends up working with them very often. (I mean, the daycare just gets so busy and we're so understaffed!! You understand, don't you? And- we finish the work so quick with YOUR help that you may as well stick around awhile longer, right? Management won't care about a few missing minutes... or hours. We won't tell if you don't :) )

(PS. CS! Vanessa's personality is very inspired by @/naffeclipse, because by god I love her interpretation of the character so much.)

Part 2

Chase knew you awhile back. The Chief told Chase and the ther rescue bots about why you are around in the station so often. You were a closer friend of Graham, Kade and Dani, they all saw you as an unrelated-sister. Chase didn’t understand at first but he didn’t mind your presence.

When the mayor announced an audition for a play that he was setting up, the Burns immediately knew you would’ve gone for it. The three siblings were talking about how you do sing but you never sang to them, they found out because Kade was ease-dropping on you when you were on a call.

(Let's say it was a different audition since the one last-time did go wrong)

When the auditions were in session, the Burns family, Boulder and Chase were there to make sure it’s safe and to watch. Like last time, there were many talented people in line to audition, you included. The excitement the Burns family showed was over the roof, mostly Dani since you’re closest to her.

When you came up to sing, oh how Chase’s face changed so fast at your melodic and mature singing. You sounded so different to what he usually hears and the soundwaves of your voice pierced through him. He shut his optics and listened through the whole thing while body-guarding outside of the building. Chase relaxed slightly and he had a light blue tint to his face ( which is blush ). Chief was the only one who noticed this and he caught on pretty quickly. Chase was either in-love with you or admired you and it looked adorable. Seeing a massive sentient robot admire a small human for something so poetic is pretty unique.

( Chief Charlie )

”Chase, are you okay?”

( Chase )

”… Oh- Of course, chief. I am just overheating because of the weather.”

Charlie clearly didn’t believe him, it was just a warm; sunny day. Your singing suddenly comes to a stop and Chase looks somewhat disappointed, failing to mask his true feelings with his stoic face. This only proved Charlie’s suspicions.

When you came out, you were suddenly jumped by Dani who praised you with hugs and love. Graham and Boulder were both congratulating you from the side while Kade gave an impressed expression. Chief then came up to you and placed a hand on your shoulder.

”You did an extraordinary job, kid, keep up the work.”

( Y/N )

“Thank you so mu- Wait, did you three come to listen to me sing..?”

( Dani )

“Of course, (Y/N)! A little birdie told me you could sing so we had to check it out.”

“You guys are something else… Thank you guys so much!”

“Well done, (Y/N), you have gained my trust and admiration.”

You turned to see Chase beside the Chief, he’s stoic and blushing… You knew Chase a little, how liked to sing but he wasn’t good at it or that he memorised all of the laws and rules on both Cybertron and Griffin Rock.

”Thank you, Chase. You're not bad yourself.”

it could just be a hard launch of their romantic relationship! and i won't be sad if it is. and even if it isn't an engagement announcement i think that a wedding sometime this year is still in the cards.

from the bottom of my fucking heart i have been so convinced that they wanted to get married for over seven years now!!!!!! and that was BEFORE dab and evan visited the howlters for the holidays and got engaged immediately followed by dnp going to visit the lesters for the holidays!!!!!!

they're sappy! they're fucking sappy! there's no more dan solo things to focus on instead and they met fifteen years ago in june. they met irl for the first time fifteen years ago this october. if there's ever going to be a time for a wedding, it's now.

and they've been boiling us! they've been increasingly open about their relationship! my pattern recognition is going fucking nuts over the way they've been acting bc it's so similar to 2018/19 but they're already fucking out.

and they've clearly been so happy with how things have been so far, out but not so far out that their relationship becomes the focus for mainstream conversations/widespread media coverage.

so what big reason could they have for hard launching their romantic relationship? WEDDING. i swear to god. one day i will be right about them getting married and when it happens i will never shut the fuck up for the rest of my life.
