silly me, just realized i had asks turned off, they're on now. sorry if anyone was trying to contact me about the state of my story.

to the maybe 2 people that read my fic and follow me: here's a little update. my life has consisted of a lot of work and travel recently and i haven't had the time to write. chapter 11 of chasing the dragon (gortash/tav!reader filth) is being written now and is estimated to be between 5k and 6k words total with at least one piece of artwork included.

i thank you for your patience, and the continued support in the comments of the story while you wait. truly love you guys <3

Today I learned that the song entitled Chasing the Dragon by Epica may not have been a complex metaphor, which many of their songs are, but could in fact have been referencing a slang term about drugs.

(The phrase "chasing the dragon" means the first time you get high on something and it's Great, and every time after that you're chasing that elusive Really Great Feeling but can never get it back.)

"Nothing will be forever gone. Memories will stay, and find their way . What goes around will come around, don't deny your fears. So let them go and fade into light. Give up the fight here."

It's an interesting song title for a song that always struck me as somber resignation, maybe even nostalgia, paired with just a TOUCH of reassurance. It Makes So Much Sense!

I'm back again! So, movie night with some rouges👀Do they let their S/O pick a movie, do they play a game to see who picks a movie? Perhaps...S/O plays keep away with the remote after changing the TV to something silly, playfully hiding it in their clothes, looking at them with a smug lop-sided grin. For Joker, Riddler, and Two-Face (If you want to add another person to even it out, that's okay!)

Joker

He's mostly picks the movies to watch unless S/O really wants to show him something then they play a game, he gets grumpy after he loses

It's mostly dark comedies or horrors which he treats like comedies

Eats a lot of popcorn while watching

He makes a lot of commentary

Pillow fights, he sometimes forgets about the movie

Riddler

They say what movie they got and gives their points why to choose it

If they can't, they play paper, rock, scissors

If there's some wrong fact in movie he will point it out

If it's a movie he likes he will ramble about trivias of what happened doing a filming

S/O would pause a movie when he does that to give him time to explain but he wants it to keep going so they end up chasing each other which ends up in kisses

Loves when they cuddle to him

Two Face

They toss a coin to decide

If it's something scare S/O would hide under his coat and he cannot help but find it cute

Harvey would point out inaccurate facts about court in movies

They have watched Legally Blond to the pain of Harv

Harv really likes Saw series

Two Face would tiss a coin to make a central reaction to the scene

Really enjoys these evenings

I remember the first time I ever yoinked my pp I was listening to Panic at the Disco's "Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off" because it was the most sexual song title I could find on my stupid little ipod. My dumb, uneducated, unexperienced younger self had not read the puberty education books I was given, so I was not prepared for what was going to happen. Long story short, I yoinked with some liquid hand soap and glooped so hard that I nearly fell over. The soap, unfortunately, left me with cracked and dry skin - a punishment for the sin of self abuse. It was worth it, though. To this very day, I've never been able to recapture that feeling.

Anyway, I relistened to that song recently and it wasn't anything like I remembered. Is it the hormone-addled minds of youth that distort the memory? Perhaps our memories are just warped by the passage of time, like books in a poorly maintained archive? Kinda mid song tbh, but it does have some vocals that stick in your mind. 7/10
