陳庭詩 CHEN Ting-shih (CHEN Ting-shi)

1916-2002 (Taiwanese) He was a Chinese artist and a key figure in modern Chinese art history. Chen Ting-shih was born to a prestigious family in Changle, Fuzhou. Chen's grandmother was the daughter of the governor, Shen Pao-Chen, who led Taiwan during the Qing Dynasty. He lost his sense of hearing at the age of eight, after a fall.....

1916年生於福建，1948年來台。年幼失聰，不但未減少他對藝術之靈敏度，反而使其更專注於藝術創作，為多才多藝的創作者。陳庭詩作品《蟄》曾獲1970年之韓國國際版畫雙年展「東亞日報大獎」。陳庭詩的版畫，鐵雕，書法及壓克力畫皆具備中國文人思想，為台灣現代藝術的發展具有相當的影響力。陳庭詩之版畫作品廣受海內外美術館及私人團體所購藏，包括洛克菲勒基金會、辛辛那���美術館、國立台灣美術館等，以及私人機構如香港大通銀行、台北花旗銀行和IBM電腦公司等等。

SUMMARY: A plucky orphan with supernatural powers joins the anti-powers police force to find more about the death of his father.

THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Hot tubs, eels, Ming forensics, penpals with Shakespeare, magic pendants, people hidden in statues, clues, ghost snakes, childhood love, palace intrigue, terrible bosses, flares, spa days, stabbings, and superpowers.

HOT TAKE: In an ideal world, I would totally swoon over a show about a special ops palace squad focused on deterring supernatural threats to the kingdom. And then there's Chong Ming Wei.

We learn form the onset that what the squad is doing is inherently problematic and nearly genocidal, everyone seems okay with it, and won't change their minds until the penultimate episode.

A lot of people are saying that the CG is poor and that's why they would rather recommend another similar show instead of this one. For me, it was the poor world-building, the stiff acting, and the fact that the opening and closing credits take up close to 10 minutes off of an already 25 minute total runtime.

What kept me coming back to finish this series? After every episode there's a little meta-world vignette skit where the characters talk out of character (and sometimes out of context) to discuss their dissatisfaction with either dying, getting written out of the script, or found their ongoing role less than satisfactory. A lot of Japanese anime episodes also include something like this and they are always a hoot.

Summary:

Li Jing, the commander-in-chief of Chentangguan, is responsible for guarding the treasures for Heaven. His son Nezha (played by Shi Xiaolong) is smart and has strong martial arts skills. Yo Kiseki dear to me…

What the fuck bro…

How could you do this to me?

I feel absolutely obliterated by ep 7 and 8. I fully was on the verge of tears. I think I did cry at some points.

The acting in this show is insane. Intense props to all of the actors of this show because they are knocking it out of the water here.

I’ve not been this emotionally effected by a bl in a while so I’m happy Kiseki could do this. And I’m also in love with the easy intimacy that Kiseki shows. I love how natural they make it.

How did it go that wrong so fast. Let my boys be happy for once Jesus Christ. Zong Yi sat clinging onto Ze Rui’s body and screaming his name made me breaakkkkkk.

And the scene where Zong Yi was trying to leave to go see Ze Rui but Ai Di and Chen Yi wouldn’t let him, so he just slowly started breaking down. Fuckkkkk. That scene finished me off.

Man these episodes were insanely good and it’s gonna kill me now having to wait another 2 weeks for the next one.

P.s. also Fuck Kiseki for making me believe Yu shi gu and Hao ting would finally get a happy ending. I can’t believe they did that to us. Fuck you and fuck your bloodline >:(

India Open: Rajawat, Prannoy Kicks Off Campaign With Contrasting Wins

Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium: Priyanshu Rajawat came from a game down to upset Commonwealth Games gold medallist Lakshya Sen while Asian Games bronze winner HS Prannoy packed off Chinese Taipei’s Chou Tien Chen in straight games on the opening day of the BWF India Open, a Super 750 badminton tournament, here at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Tuesday. Rajawat, who was part of the 2022 Thomas Cup winning squad, showcased remarkable resilience to secure a 16-21, 21-16, 21-13 victory over his illustrious compatriot while Prannoy outplayed Chou 21-6, 21-19 to advance to the second round of the Super 750 tournament. With the second men’s singles berth for the Paris Olympics up for grabs, the clash between Rajawat and Sen was always going to be the highlight of the opening day. Rajawat will now face eighth seed Prannoy in the second round. Former champion Sen was the first to get off the blocks as he pocketed the opening game only for Rajawat to step on the accelerator. The 21-year-old, Rajawat, who had lost in the only previous meeting between the two on the BWF circuit at the Japan Open 2023, then showed the maturity to extend the rallies and temper his aggression to win the 75-minute encounter. Reflecting on his victory, Priyanshu expressed: "Today marked my first good game in quite a while, especially after the break I took due to my back injury. Lakshya is a very good friend of mine but it was important for me to win this match against him and progress to the next round. I stuck to my natural playing style throughout and despite losing the first game, I was determined not to let go of the second and third games at any cost. I am looking forward to the next game against HS Prannoy and want to give my 100 percent to win." Earlier, world no. 8 Prannoy, dominated the opening game against Chou and then fought back from a 11-16 deficit in the second game by winning six straight points to take a 17-16 lead before wrapping up the match in 42 minutes. "The planning was pretty spot on in the first game. I got to understand that he was not able to get the length properly in the first game, so I had to wrap it up really quickly before he got into that rally mode. In the second game, as expected, he started to push the speed and was able to finish a lot of shuttles from behind. I didn't hit really hard towards the end of the game and was trying to play softer shots,” said Prannoy after the win. Prannoy also thanked the crowd for supporting him when the chips were down and said he expected the support to go up as the tournament progresses. Meanwhile, another Indian Kiran George fought valiantly but endured a 12-21, 15-21 loss against Wang Tzu-Wei of Chinese Taipei in his tournament opener. In women's doubles action, Rutaparna Panda and Swetaparna Panda went down against Yeung Nga Ting and Yeung Pui Lam of Hong Kong 6-21, 7-21. The Chinese contingent made their mark on Day One of the BWF Super 750 event with Asian Games 2022 gold medallist Li Shi Feng securing a hard-fought victory in men’s singles and two-time World Championships bronze medallist He Bing Jiao advancing in women’s singles. While Feng prevailed over 2019 World Championships 2019 bronze medallist Kantaphon Wangcharoen of Thailand with a 19-21, 21-15, 21-15 win, Bing Jiao defeated 2022 Commonwealth Games silver medallist Michelle Li of Canada 21-17, 21-15.
