Baby Witch Here!🔮🖤
Tumblr media
Hello everyone! ❤
I just decided to make this post introducing myself to the Witch/Wiccan community!
My name is Ashley. I am 24 (turning 25 next month) and I am brand new to The Craft and Wicca in general! I am from Illinois and I have been studying for a little under a week now, but so far I am feeling very connected with what I am learning.
I have always been a spiritual kind of person, but never really thought more of it until now. I have grown up in a somewhat Christian family (never went to church, but still holds the beliefs just the same) so I am still “in the broom closet” as I am afraid to tell them. Regardless, this is MY spiritual journey and that is all that matters.
I am currently reading This Wicca Starter Kit Book Series by Lisa Chamberlain and I am absolutely in love with it! 😍 I am always looking for new book recommendations so send some my way if you want!
I am excited to continue this journey and I cant wait to meet so many like-minded people here! If anyone wants to chat and whatnot, please feel free to message me!
Also, if anyone has any advice for a baby Witch, I am always open to that as well!

I collected water for witch jars by melting ice from Lake Michgan. Amethyst, jade, and crystal quartz were charged during The Wolf Moon, and add a little umph to the lake water. I’ll be sure to post pictures and a write up once the witch jars are complete. My coworker Heather requested a jar that would help her be successful and prosperous. She also wanted protection, help finding a new job, and to celebrate her inner goddess. For Heather I plan to include cinnamon, anise, sage rosemary, cedar, lemon balm, mint, bay, and carnation oil. As well as sigils, and crystals. They should be a hefty little piece of work once I’m done. Bright blessings!

Gunna pat our own backs but we were in the paper! Someone came into the shop and showed us this. After obviously playing it cool and not jumping around like excited idiots we had to show everyone we knew. Special thanks to Nara Shoenberg for the amazing writing and being a real trooper during our October full moon ritual. Check it out here! https://www.chicagotribune.com/lifestyles/ct-life-witchcraft-popularity-millennials-10172019-20191024-7luvsszmszgybfpn6c6f7vag34-story.html

Herbal and other plant ingredients are especially easy to come across and very powerful in spellwork. But many modern witches will avoid using animal parts in their spells. We obviously prefer humanely gathered animal parts, but if they can be found, they would greatly influence your magic. The spirit of a once living creature is extremely powerful to be able to call upon for aid. The parts can be used as altar items, to adorn tools, as talismans, in potions, powders, or charm bags. Bones are excellent for drawing on the powers of death and the afterlife as well as dealing with matters of the body like health and transformation. Bones can also be used in many forms of divination to tell the future. The qualities of the animals can be drawn on as well in spells like the flexibility of snakes, stealth of cats, or strength of a stag. Even the specific part can offer symbolism such as jaws for communication, teeth and claws for attack and defense, feet and wings for travel, shells for protection and spells of the home, and fur for comfort.

Last night we had a fun Full Moon ritual. Everyone came together and brewed a potion for truth under the Aries moon.

Walking through a graveyard a while back, we saw a rainbow inside of a cloud. It seemed like a really magical omen but not sure what for. There is a lot of symbolism in rainbows. It has all of the colors of the chakras. In greek mythology, Iris, the goddess of rainbows, was a messenger to the gods since they reached from the heavens to the earth. Norse mythology is similar where a rainbow is the bridge between the mortal realm to the realm of the gods. And they are obviously a symbol of creativity, inspiration, and peace. Especially after a big storm. Does anybody else know any good rainbow symbolism and folklore? They seem too magical not to talk about.

We officially have some regular hours for our new shop! We’ve been testing out what works best so besides our Witches’ Conclave workshop times (which you can see on our website or on meetup under The Witches’ Conclave) we will be open Thursday: 3pm to 9pm Friday: 3pm to 9pm Saturday: 10am to 4pm Sunday: 11am to 4pm
Any concierge witchery will be by appointment, but we are in and out during the week to work and restock so if you see us in, feel free to pop by to work on some spells, catch up on magical studies, or shop through our selection for tools, charms, and ingredients.

We finally pulled it together and had a workshop to make full sized broomsticks in time for Halloween! After talking about the magical uses of brooms, we did an exercise with them for use in spirit flight. Then finished by taking our brooms outside and cackling. It was a bewitching night.
