Rex agradece mucho tu protección, está acostumbrado a ser quien protege a los demás, por eso ver que lo tratas como alguien que también merece ese mismo cuidado le calienta el corazón.

En general, le gusta mucho poder ser un adolescente normal contigo y ser IGUAL contigo. Ver lo feliz que eres sólo con su felicidad le da un impulso de serotonina.

Yulimar Rojas y Ronald Acuña Jr. fueron elegidos este jueves por el Círculo de Periodistas Deportivos como Atletas del Año, tras el proceso de selección promovido por el gremio entre sus miembros y comunicadores sociales que cubren las incidencias del deporte nacional. En la histórica elección número 80 de los Atleta del Año, “La Reina” Yulimar Rojas resultó la más votada del proceso, en el que participaron cerca de un centenar de periodistas deportivos. La dueña de todos los récords del salto triple acumuló un total de 880 puntos en la elección, con 77 votos al primer lugar, 15 al segundo, y uno al tercero. Con esto, Yulimar se acredita su séptimo premio Atleta del Año, igualando en ese tope nada menos que al legendario Luis Aparicio, como los máximos ganadores de este premio instituido en 1944. También se convierte Rojas en la primera deportista en ganar el Premio Atleta Femenino del Año, tras el cambio de reglamento de este galardón por parte del CPD, que desde ahora se distinguirá oficialmente por género. Rojas superó en este renglón a la extraordinaria fondista Joselyn Brea, la gran reina de los Panamericanos y los Centroamericanos y del Caribe; y a la karateka Yorgelis Salazar, primera del ranking mundial. La Vinotinto y su guía, el argentino Fernando “Bocha” Batista, quienes cerraron una temporada histórica para el fútbol venezolano, se llevaron con sobrados méritos los premios a la Selección del Año y Entrenador del Año, respectivamente, mientras que el Deportivo Táchira y su asombrosa  temporada le valieron el premio Equipo Profesional del Año. Y una vez más, las pesas reciben el reconocimiento de la prensa especializada, con los premios Entidad Deportiva del Año para la Federación Venezolana de Levantamiento de Pesas; y Dirigente del Año, para el presidente de esta institución, el Profesor Luis Seijas. Paralímpicos y Serie del Caribe destacados La Junta Directiva del CPD decidió otorgar dos menciones especiales este año, una para los mejores atletas paralímpicos de los Juegos de Santiago, y otra para el evento Serie del Caribe 2023. La distinción Atleta Paralímpico del Año será para Naybis Morillo, oro en lanzamiento de jabalina; Edwards Varela, oro en lanzamiento de disco; Yomaira Cohen, dorada en lanzamiento de bala; y Clara Fuentes, oro en levantamiento de pesas de los Juegos ParaPanamericanos Santiago 2023. Los cuatro ases impusieron sendos récords parapanamericanos en sus pruebas. The halls of King’s Dominion echoed with the laughter of Maria Salazar. Her hand extended and swatted her friend - Chico - over the chest at a comment he made in passing. Evidently, to her, it was very funny. The two of them had been talking for … who knows how long now. With the two of them being in Soto Vatos together, they had the time to talk and mingle.

(Y/N), Chico’s girlfriend of several months now, didn’t like this. It made her insides churn with unknown emotions, but none that were pleasant. Seeing Chico talk to another girl like that, let alone let another girl touch him like that. Shaking her head, she took a step back from the corner she hid behind and made her way to her dorm room. Chico must have seen her figure from the corner of his eye, as his eyes flashed with regret and hurt, but that was overridden by amusement when Maria mentioned something.

Days passed and the rift between (Y/N) and Chico only grew. (Y/N) found that most of her time was spent with the rats in King’s Dominion rather than her boyfriend and his gang. There, she didn’t feel like she was being cheated. Who cares if she was giving Chico the same hand she was dealt - it made her feel better.

Chico picked up on her behaviour almost immediately. Jealous looks from afar, attempts to talk to her going stale when she abandons the conversation for Marcus. It was beginning to get to his head - he had no idea what he did wrong.

So, one day, Chico enters her room when he knows she’s inside and closes the door. She glances up from her magazine, her eyes instantly widening and the magazine dropping onto the duvet beside her.

“What do you want?” “Give me a chance to explain.”

Chico wasn’t one to beg. He wasn’t one to get on his knees or take the time to talk something out. In most cases, he’d whip out his gun and fire a hole in their head. But for (Y/N) … maybe he’d learn to just talk.

“I don’t think you need to explain. You value your gang more than me, so I value my friends more than you. I thought we came to that agreement.” “No. That’s not-”

“That’s not the case? Okay, Chico, tell me what it is. Tell me what’s really going on and maybe I’ll listen.”

She’s standing up now, her arms crossed over her chest. Her temples felt tight and tense, the tension in the air eating its way into her muscles.

“I don’t love Maria.” The words came out as a stern and sure statement compared to a plea. It made something shift in (Y/N)’s mind. “Soto Vatos is important to me. They’re not as important as you, they never will be.” He bit at his bottom lip, sorting through the words in his mind. “You’re mine. You’re only ever going to be mine. And don’t think that I don’t notice you hanging out with the rats - I do. How about we put this behind us?”

(Y/N) stares at him for a moment, eyes boring into his brown ones. For once, he seems genuine, not a streak of possession or manipulation in his eyes. It makes her accept his apology - or at least his explanation - without any further argument.

“Fine. It’s behind us.”

“Good. Now, how about some dinner?”

•Chico had a rough childhood growing up.

• He saw so many horrible things and somehow watching a man beg for his life, sobbing pitifully while a gund is pressed against his forehead wasn't shocking anymore nor was seeing him dead on the floor with blood starting to ran down his body and form a puddle in the floor.

•His mother never loved him, she didn't event wanted him in the first place. Chico's mother was another victim, a prostitute who ended up marrying the leader of el alma del diablo as soon as she turned 16.

•She used Chico to maintain her position, that was the only way to ease her husband into giving her money and more power.

• Nobody could harm the mother of his child, so as long as Chico were in the picture, nothing bad would happen to her.

•Chico's dad wasn't any better, he did showed more real affection to kid, but his mind was set for Chico to take the mantle and lead the cartel.

•He would take Chico with him, show him the different ways of killing a man since he was five and always reguard the little boy with gifts whener he followed his steps.

•Chico never saw how love and affection was truly supposed to be; those things were corrupted in his enviroment, mixed with violence and abuse. All of the adults treat each others poorly, taking advantage of the weak and calling it "love"

•So with time hitting your partner and restricting their freedom was sign that you cared about them. The men should always protect what's theirs cuz if they didn't they were weak and cowards.

•The punishments if Chico disobeyed his dad were harsh. Chicos's father would beat him until he was tired, shouting about how tired he is to have such useless son.

•Chico always dreamed about having loyal friends and a nice girlfriend with he could share nice moments and have a family in the future. But all of those years of violence incrusted in his brain makes it really hard for him to let go of that abusive behavior.

•He sometimes can escape from that toxic mindset; they're just brief moments before something trigger his anger and brought back that harsh man who give a damn abaout gutting someone if that means letting know who's the one in charge.

•So he grew up full of hatred and with a fogged mindset, truly beliving that being violent and merciless could bring him great things.

•Overall, Chico was just a pawn for his family to fullfil their wishes.

•Of course that knowing of all that doesn't excuse his behavior.

•Chico has done a lot of horrible things that don't deserve forgiveness. But it's really sad to see how violence and abuse can ruin a child's life

Sin embargo, no te das cuenta de que el propio Rex también empieza a verte bajo una luz diferente.

Sólo que a diferencia de ti, él está bastante decidido a hacer algo al respecto.

Rex agradece mucho tu protección, está acostumbrado a ser quien protege a los demás, por eso ver que lo tratas como alguien que también merece ese mismo cuidado le calienta el corazón.
