I know we're all familiar with such genres of English folk song as: I tried to get with a woman I thought was a prostitute but she in fact stole all my things, or I will marry you I promise, but just a quick shag first? or perhaps even I married this old bloke but he's shit in bed god I wish he'd die so I could be a rich widow, but I was at a pub to sing christmas carols today and I would like to submit a new entry: my wife died in a game of hide and seek merry christmas everyone xx

Both Christmas fics!

Oh nonnie 😂 I love a Christmas AU. Come November (!!!), all I do, all day long, is leave my TV on Hallmark channel and watch the same crappy Christmas movies (full of TVD/TO actors btw lol) over and over. So naturally, I end up with intrusive thoughts about getting Klaroline into Christmas romcoms where Klaus is alwats a Scrooge or Grinch sort of creature and Caroline is the ray of sunshine that melts some of the ice around his heart. 😂 Could it be any more cliche? No. Do I care? Also no.

So the first Xmas AU was Caroline getting invited to spend Christmas in the UK with Enzo (her bestie) at his new husband's (lololol) family's ancestral home, Mikaelson House. But she was promised that Klaus wouldn't be there, because they're Christmassy people and he always spends the Holidays skiing. Except there's a snow storm and his flight got cancelled and so he's stranded. Caroline and Klaus have some beef from Enzo's wedding (which I can't remember what exactly what it was about, but I'm sure I wrote it down somewhere 😂). And so it would be a very Mikaelson family situation with Klaus and Caroline getting over their beef in the process.

The second one is more uhm *controversial*😂 But I think I like the execution of it more. Klaus inherits a property from his biological father whom he's had no contact with his entire life. He doesn't want anything to do with it because he obviously holds a giant grudge over the fact he was abandoned to suffer at the hands of Mikael his whole life while his father knew of his existence (he finds out about that when he's older). But Elijah (who also doubles as his lawyer because he's a hotshot one) pushes him to go check it out and put it in the market to at the very least get the money (not that he needs it, but anyway). So he goes and finds out the place is actually a Christmas Tree farm that doubles as a holiday theme park (or used to, before it was closed down years before when Ansel got sick), and Caroline is the person in charge of it (she's also a lawyer). He means to just get rid of the whole thing but she ends up convincing him to sell it to someone interested in keeping the business open because the small town where it's located has been suffering greately since the park shut down and it could create a lot of jobs and opportunities for local business owners and while Klaus couldn't care less, he finds out very soon that it's very hard for him personally to say no to Caroline. 😂 Then a lot of things happen (Elijah gets in the middle of it to expedite the sale and ruins everything, Klaus finds out the truth about why his father never contacted him, De Martels appear, etc).

Both sound silly af but that's the spirit of these holiday romcoms and honestly I love them, so whatever 🙆‍♀️

Now anyone who knows me well, knows I hate Valentine's day, however, I love you guys so I'll do one

Then he would take you out for some bbq or something

And gives you a little bracelet he picked out a few days ago

With a little guitar pick charm on it

And reveal that he has a necklace with a bigger guitar pick on the chain that has an outline of yours that can fit perfectly inside

New thread for Smith!Doctor.

Episode: The Eleventh Hour - Amelia Pond, my love. Beans ARE evil, thank you Smith!Doctor. It's very sweet that Ten loses his red-haired best friend and Eleven immediately finds a red-haired best friend. Little Amy waiting with her suitcase <3 Grown-up Amy whacking him with a cricket bat. Rory, my other love, you're wonderful. And Olivia Coleman. And Tom Hopper. Smith!Doctor stealing clothes from a hospital just like Three. All the Doctors at the end <3 Bowties are cool. One of my all time favourite episodes.

Episode: The Beast Below - The creepy smiley robot things are a nope. I love the idea of every country having its own spaceship though and every county having it's own block. Liz 10 is awesome. It's not the greatest episode but it's enjoyable.

Episode: Victory of the Daleks - Pleasant and polite Daleks are somehow more creepy than the usual kind. Oh, Doctor, sometimes you are the biggest idiot. I quite like the colourful Daleks. It's very mid-80s looking. Amy is so smart. "Come along, Pond."

Episode: The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone - River!!! Amy is now doing Lynda Day cosplay. I love River. The Weeping Angels are still creepy af. River thinks her mum is amazing and so do I <3 Amy thinking she's turning to stone and sending the Doctor away and then the Doctor biting her. With his space teeth. The second episode is nice foreshadowing to Cold Blood. I don't understand why you can't smash an angel while it's stone though. And I really don't enjoy Amy snogging the Doctor. Episode: The Vampires of Venice - Helen McCrory looking amazing as always. Love the Doctor going to collect Rory and taking him and Amy on a romantic trip and gaining a little crew. Choosing to believe Smith!Doctor owes Tennant!Casanova a chicken. Love the library card with Hartnell!Doctor on it. Have I mentioned how much I hate the idea of love triangles? I do love Rory and him telling the Doctor off. Obviously, the Doctor would rather face vampires than have an awkward conversation.

Episode: Amy's Choice - I do like it when the Doctor is faced with the darker aspects of himself. Amy telling the Doctor off by pretending to go into labour is hilarious, as is the Doctor making fun of Rory's ponytail and Amy telling Rory to whack an old woman. I like the idea that you grow out of the TARDIS rather than get dragged from it kicking and screaming - it's your choice. No pun intended. Amy/Rory forever. I love them.

Episode: The Hungry Earth / Cold Blood - this is set in 2020. Must have been January or February. It's a nice and quite exciting story. The SIlurians look amazing. The Silurian city looks awesome too. Celery, lol. Humans suck don't they? Except Rory. Rory is such a good boy. And then... he doesn't exist and I'm crying.

Episode: Vincent and the Doctor - Such a beautiful episode with a gorgeous, heartbreaking ending. Love Vincent describing the sky and the stars and it turning into The Starry Night.

Episode: The Lodger - Sometimes funny. Sometimes not. I do enjoy the Doctor trying to be a normal person for an extended period of time.

Episode: The Pandorica Opens / The Big Bang - Love all the flashbacks to everyone from earlier in the season. And River of course! Love River. RORY!!! Amy and Rory <3 Rory fighting against being an Auton. Poor Amy. I do love the idea of the Doctor being the thing in the Pandorica. And I love the start of the next episode even more. Al of the next episode in fact. It's so clever and romantic and perfect. And Rory punching the Doctor is great. More people should punch the Doctor, honestly. Fezes are cool. And then the beautiful wedding of my faves and the Doctor dancing like a drunken giraffe.

Episode: A Christmas Carol - Amy and Rory roleplaying the Roman and the Policewoman on their honeymoon. They're so cute. This is the most magical, Christmassy thing. I kind of wish this world had fish just flying around. Showing young boy Kazran his future to make him change is such a perfect twist on the normal Christmas Carol ending.

Episode: The Impossible Astronaut / Day of the Moon - The Silence as a concept are genuinely terrifying. The idea of seeing something and forgetting it the minute you can't see it. Brave Heart, Canton. "Strange markings" - it's quite clearly a tally. Love the Doctor kissing Rory on the head when he checks on him.

Episode: The Curse of the Black Spot - PIrates! Not the most thrilling episode ever but not horrible. Just sort of there.

Episode: The Doctor's Wife - the TARDIS, the Time Lords, MICHAEL SHEEN!!!! I love Idris. I love the Doctor and the TARDIS getting to talk. It's great to see more of the inside of the TARDIS, even if it just that same corridor, lol.

Episode: The Rebel Flesh / The Almost People - Ah, the goo people. But sadly no goo snakes. Rory is just the best and sweetest guy. Love him comforting Jennifer. The first episode ending with the Ganger!Doctor is awesome. Love the Ganger!Doctor trying to cope with his regenerations. The first ep is the better of the two, but I like the lead into Amy's story.

Episode: A Good Man Goes to War - Rory taking on the whole Cyberfleet to find out where Amy is is so hot. Vastra and Jenny <3 Strax <3 River being so overwhelmed by seeing Rory <3 The Doctor's conversation with Vastra and Dorian is one of my favourites in the whole series. The look they share when they have to explain to him that he is a threat. Amy/Rory <3 I love them so much.

Episode: Let's Kill Hitler - I love that Amy and Rory got to raise their daughter. I love whole sequence of them growing up. Baby!Rory. Then Rory punching Hitler and putting him in the cupboard. Mels calling Rory dad <3 He's a badass in this episode. Lol at Smith!Doctor feeling guilt related to all of Tennant!Doctor's companions. He's not wrong. The Amelia interface is awesome.

Episode: Night Terrors - Little George. He breaks my heart. The dolls are really very creepy. And they turned Amy into a doll. No thank you. Sweet ending though.

Episode: The Girl Who Waited - Wonderful concept. Karen is wonderful. Old Amy is so different to young Amy - all her mannerisms and her voice - and her anger and hurt is so real and good. And the Doctor is incredibly selfish, which is also good because it's nice to remember that sometimes he's a bastard. Amy and Rory are so perfect. <3

Episode: The God Complex - I love Rita. The scene between the Doctor and Amy where he tells her to stop believing in him is beautiful. As is their blue house with the TARDIS blue door and them saying goodbye.

Episode: Closing Time - Why didn't my parents name me Stormageddon? That's all there is to say about this episode really. Too much James Corden.

Episode: The Wedding of River Song - The world with all of time happening at once is beautiful. The cars being flown by hot air balloons and the steam trains through the pyramids. Rory keeping his eye-patch on even though it's killing him <3 "River Song didn't get it all from you" is such a great line. River visiting Amy and Rory and telling them the truth - and Amy realising she's his mother in law. Doctor Who? Love it.

Episode: The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe - The last scene between the Doctor and the Ponds makes up for a pretty nothing episode. The Doctor crying because he can feel things again <3

Episode: Asylum of the Daleks - Amy and Rory on the brink of divorce is the most awful thing in the Smith!Doctor era. That said, this is a fantastic episode. And Clara! Lovely Clara. Well, Oswin in this case.

Episode: Dinosaurs on a Spaceship - They're people, not Ponds. Brian! Dinosaurs. Much better than the dinosaurs Pertwee!Doctor had to fight. Amy IS a queen. I'm glad Rory got to kiss Smith!Doctor too. Such a fun episode.

Episode: A Town Called Mercy - Amy is the best and I love her so much. Love her calling Smith!Doctor out on his bs. Both Amy and Rory are sadly underused though.

Episode: The Power of Three - Kate!! Amy in a pretty dress. The Doctor missing Amy and Rory. He loves them so much. Creepy little girl and her creepy twin orderlies.

Episode: The Angels Take Manhattan - Nooooo. Farewell Ponds, I love you. I will miss you. I'm glad you had a happy life together. They get the best exit of the modern era, so far. Happy yet heartbreaking.

Episode: The Snowmen - Clara! Jenny&Vastra! Strax! Smith!Doctor living on a cloud like Mary Poppins. Just realised that Mary Poppins is a Time Lord. Pretty grim for a Christmas special.

Episode: The Bells of Saint John - Short hops are difficult. I'm glad that we already knew Clara at this point because while she is wonderful, this episode is pretty dull.

Episode: The Rings of Akhaten - Susan mention! Love the classic feel of this episode. I wish they'd go to other planets more often. A simple story. Very enjoyable.

Episode: Cold War - Ice Warriors! You know I'm not entriely sure I needed to see under an Ice Warrior's armour. Some good moments but not one of the best episodes.

Episode: Hide - A good old-fashioned ghost story, or is it a love story? It's from where, Doctor? Oh, Metebelis III. And that's how we're pronouncing that is it?

Episode: Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS - It's always nice to see more of the TARDIS, but I would have liked more rooms and fewer corridors. Still, that library was nice. I don't blame Clara for wanting to remember that.

Episode: The Crimson Horror - Brave Heart, Clara. This is a very creepy, brilliant, episode and I love it. Everyone is wonderful. Strax is, as always, hilarious. Mrs Gillyflower and Mr Sweet are so gross. Jenny is a badass.

Episode: Nightmare in Silver - Matt Smith is so good. The Cybermen are nice and scary for a change. Clara is, as always, excellent. And Porridge proposing to Clara is reminding me of Peladon asking Jo to marry him.

Episode: The Name of the Doctor - I'm just going to scream through this whole thing. Hartnell!Doctor and Susan stealing the TARDIS. I love all her costumes with each of the Doctors. I love the giant dying TARDIS. I love that River is there. I love that Smith!Doctor can see her and that he loves her. Yes, I cried. Vastra and Jenny and Strax. A perfect episode.

Episode: The Day of the Doctor - Speaking of perfect episodes. Everything about this one is amazing. John Hurt is a fantastic addition. Billie Piper is marvelous as the Moment. David Tennant is his usual charming self. I have fun trying to spot all the references and items and photos in the Black Archive. All the Doctors there, saving Gallifrey <3 Can't believe Jenna didn't have "snog David Tennant" in her contract. And Tom Baker coming back is a lovely ending.

Episode: The Time of the Doctor - Another sad Christmas special, but a brilliant one, wrapping up every question from the Smith!Doctor Era. I love that the story that started in The Eleventh Hour lasted his whole run. I love him seeing Amy again when he regenerates.

Matt Smith is absolutely my favourite Doctor. How the youngest person to play him manages to be so old, I'll never know, but he does it so perfectly. He is sweet and kind and silly and furious and dangerous and he loves so much. We get Kate Lethbridge Stewart and Vastra, Jenny, Stazx, the return of Gallifrey and a truly epic love story. No notes.

She had never felt more loved and safe than in that moment. She was surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home, christmas lights twinkling and casting a warm glow on the people she held closest to her heart.

From the kitchen she could see (or rather hear) her dad and tia having their annual argument of who would get the coveted role of preparing the famous Christmas Molina dinner, even when everyone knew that they would both end up cooking it.

On the living room floor she could see Carlos trying to wrestle his console out of Reggie’s grasp while a cackling Alex repeatedly threw popcorn at them both. Willie, perched on the edge of the sofa behind Alex, had a soft smile on his face as he played with his boyfriend’s hair.

And although this would be enough to fill Julie’s heart to the brim with happiness, the fact that she was currently wrapped up in Luke’s arms, her head resting on his shoulder as he hummed a melody in her ear, only helped make her feel like she was the luckiest person on Earth.

Christmas Eve the most exciting and dreaded day of the year. It was only dreaded for the amount of crappy situations for last minute travelers; which is why I was sat between Matt and his wife. The three of us were setting up the kitchen like a buffet. “Thanks for letting Adam and I crash here.” I mumbled as I stacked the festive plates. “It’s no problem at all, sweetie. We’re glad you guys could stay.” Dana grinned up at me, as she straightened out all the dishes. “You and your man woulda been stuck at the airport anyway.” Matt smirked, his smirk only growing as he saw my cheeks flush pink and I rolled my eyes. “Adam is in no way shape or form ‘my man’.” I muttered, before padding back into the living room.

I giggled at the sight of Kourtney tugging on Adam’s hair, I could hear her quietly whining about how Adam wasn’t compromising about scooting down so she could play with all of his hair. I smiled softly as I got to the couch, before scooping up baby Zachary. “Uncle Adam, please!” Kourtney whined, as she stomped her sock covered foot on the floor, an adorable pout etching on her face with even more adorable puppy dog eyes. I bit down on my bottom lip to keep from giggling, as I continued to play with Zachary. “Something funny back there, Addison?” Adam called over his shoulder as he finally gave in, tugging his long hair from his bun; shaking out his hair. My smile only grew wider as she began tugging and twisting his hair around. 

After watching Adam play with Kourtney for awhile, Dana made her way out to us, coffees for all of us. Plopping down on the couch next to me as she sipped her’s, “He’s really good with kids.” She huffed out, shooting me a grin. “Yeah I want a couple one day... If I met the right woman.” He smiled, looking directly at me causing my whole face to redden. I quickly broke eye contact with him as I reached for my coffee. “You know most people have already met their future spouse by like the time they hit their twenties.” Matt pointed out with a smirk, rolling my eyes as I looked over at him. “Then you’d think we’d both be in serious relationships then huh?” I quipped, an eye brow arched. “One would think.” Dana smirked as she looked from Adam to me. I snorted as I sipped my coffee. “Something funny Addison?” Adam repeated again, locking eyes with mine. “Your face, blue eyes.” I muttered.

A few hours had passed and Matt and Dana’s house was slowly filling up with their family, Adam and I stood off to the side. A random drink in each of our hands. “You know you look really adorable by a Christmas tree.” Adam smirked, his arm slung over my shoulder as I rolled my eyes a blush creeping across my cheeks. “Shut up Cole.” I muttered, leaning up against him more, nuzzling my face against the side of his chest. He only chuckled, rubbing my arm gently as he pressed me even closer to him. His body heat swarming around me along with the overwhelming smell of his cologne. “Look at the love birds over there.” Nick teased, a smirk on his face. I inwardly groaned as I buried my face into Adam’s chest. I could hear Nick chuckle as Adam wrapped both of his arms around me, his hands resting against my lower back. “He’s just kidding, Munch.” He mumbled as he rubbed my back softly. I only nodded before pushing away from him and padding into the kitchen where Dana and Ellen were talking about their trip to Japan. “I see you were able to peel yourself from Adam’s side.” Dana smirked as I rolled my eyes. “You all act like we’re joined at the hip.” I huff, leaning against the counter, as I sipped my drink. “Wait, you two aren’t?” Ellen taunted, with a giggle. 

“C’mon he’s so in love with you, Addy.” She quickly added. I blushed again, biting down on the inside of my cheek. “He’s not in love with me, we’re just friends.” I grumbled, folding my arms over my chest. “Friends who room together, share a bed, cuddle constantly, and spend all of their time together.” Ellen pointed out, as Dana nodded her head confirming every point Ellen had made. “You both give each other the look too.” Dana quickly added. My mouth fell open in shock, my arms unfolding themselves before landing on my hips. “I d-do not give A-Adam any kind of ‘look’.” I stuttered, I was sure my face at this point was stained a deep red. “You know damn well what look, Addy.” Ellen huffed, as she rolled her eyes. “The ‘I’m-so-in-love-with-you-so-please-don’t-break-my-heart’ look.” Dana huffed, I rolled my eyes again. “Alright, whatever you two say.” I huffed, holding my hands up in defense. 

I sat on the couch between Matt and Nick, watching as the four little kids played on the floor. “So when will you and Adam be professing your love for each other?” Nick teased as he slung his arm over my shoulders and I rolled my eyes. “You mean when no one says anything to anyone because Adam and I are just best friends?” I reminded him, as I looked up in time to see Adam disappear into another room. “You mean when you two eventually kiss and in three years at the Massie holiday party you’ll be pregnant with Adam’s kid and happily married to him?” Matt chuckled with a smirk as I blushed. “Not gonna happen Mattie.” I sighed, patting his back with a smile 

I stood off to the side a red solo cup filled with a diet soda clutched in my hand, as I watched Addison settled herself between Nick and Matt. Her multicolored hair, somehow twinkling in the dimly lit living room. I watched as Nick slung his arm over her bare shoulders, her deep blue strapless dress hugging her body, before flaring out at her waist. She had ditched her heels hours ago, only keeping them on long enough to take a few pictures here and there. I smiled as I watched her throw her head back and laugh. “You really love her, huh?” I heard from beside me and I jumped a little at the sudden sound. “What?” I mumbled, as I looked beside me and saw Dana standing there and sipping a soda. “You love Addison.” She repeated with a knowing smile and I huffed before nodding as I sucked my bottom lip between my teeth. “Always have.” I sighed, leaning against the wall, Dana laughed. “So tell her.” She stated matter of factly. As if it was the easiest thing in the goddamn world to tell the girl you’ve been in love with since like the third grade, that you were in fact still madly in love with her. “Ain’t that easy.” I shrugged, glancing over at her as I sipped my drink. She only rolled her eyes, “Stop being such a pussy, and tell her that you’re in love with her.” She muttered, as she clapped me on my shoulder before walking away towards the rest of the people. 

I let out a sigh before making my way into the less crowded den room and sat down on the couch before pulling out my phone and settling to play a distracting game. The quiet was a small relief to the loudness of the holiday party a couple feet from where I had plopped down. “Whatcha doin’ in here?” A small voice asked from behind me on the couch and I felt her arms hug my neck from behind as she leaned over the back of the couch. Her head leaning against mine. I only shrugged, “Just needed some peace, Munch.” I told her, as she walked around the couch, and plopped down next to me, letting out a breathy sigh of relief. “You sure? I saw you and Dana talking and then you looked like you got upset and then you like left the room.” She said softly, her voice thick with worry, as she settled herself under my arm, her head against my side and I smiled to myself. “I’m fine, Adds. You know if I wasn’t you’d be the first person I’d tell.” I reminded her, as I glanced down at her, she looked back at me quizzically. “I know, but still.” She huffed, before laying her head back on my with a small smile. 

“You know I think this is the first Chrismas Eve we’ve spent not at my mom’s place.” I laughed softly, and she nodded. Every Christmas Eve since Addy and I were little we spent it together, her family at my house with a few of my cousins and we’d all hang out together. Except for one Christmas Eve she’d ended up spending it with some guy who like four months later broke her goddamn heart. She cried a shit ton those first two weeks of April, and who was the bestest best friend possible? Me. I brought her all of her comfort foods, I got her out the house, I beat the guy up for her but she doesn’t know that. “First Christmas Eve that we haven’t would up in your room hiding from our family while getting trashed.” She added, as she looked up at my, a small playful smile etched on her face. I chuckled before glancing down at her and kissing her forehead she sucked in a deep breath as her eyes flickered from my eyes to my lips and I subconsciously bit down on my bottom lip. “Adam.” She whispered, and I raised an eye brow in question. 

“Guys come on, we’re doing Christmas Eve pres- Oh!” Matt called as he walked into the room. Addy and I jumped apart and she started fixing her hair so it flowed over her one shoulder and I cleared my throat. “Yeah, uh-coming.” She stuttered, her whole face flushed red in embarrassment. She quickly stood and darted from the room. “What’s going on in here man?” Matt questioned, arms folded over his chest and a knowing smirk plastered on his face and I groaned. “Nothing, you ruined the moment.” I muttered, annoyance clear in my voice, as I stood from the couch and turned to leave. “Are you saying that you two were about to make out on my couch?” Matt taunted and I rolled my eyes, before darting past him and into the other room, and quickly sat on the floor between Kourtney and Zach.

Mod Log - September

Howdy! I thought this might be a fun little thing to do, both for my own desire to document, and for anyone who wants to tune in.

I’m counting on this to be a lax “series”(?) which serves as a catalog of minor experiments, mod progress, and bloopers that occured during a set period of recreational modding.

And maybe it is also a little bit self-indulgent - but gosh darnit, I will be enthusiastic about my dorky hobby! :p

Item 1: Tests and Tribulations

Question: What happens when a Sim dies on a lot on which there is no physical place for a tombstone to spawn?

Answer: A tombstone... is not spawned! Verified by forcing an error and scouring the lot dump. This may lead to a Sim being in a “dead, linked, but no tombstone” state, without any mods (although the set up is a bit tedious - fill every tile with a diagonal wall or impassable object). Kinda neat!

Also, I made a statue out of Grim Reapers, pictured above.

Question: hey build/buy thumbnails are tiny can we like enlarge those

Answer: Yes!...ish.

Unfortunately I was unable to find the parameter (singular? 🤞) that influence/s the grid layout within the UIScripts, meaning that (a) I just can’t see (b) It’s multiple variables making it more difficult to narrow down [c] This behaviour (that is, the automatic management of the geometry and populating of the grid) is exclusively executable-based so because of this all items overlap. :/

Pretty cool though how the actual thumbnails themselves adjust automagically to increased... ‘thumbnail... holder’... size. Also, I think the black transparency issue could be resolved with a properly sized UI images of the border to match. don’t mind the blue tearing that’s just me being silly

Item 2: Modunkles Spelunkles

This mod... is actually almost fully functional! Here is a video of it in action. Permitting your one-household Sims have a pool, they should no longer be doomed to a Death By Fire if noone extinguishes them... assuming they get there in time, and they’re happy with the risk of spreading the fire as they go :p

It’s not released yet, though, as I would like to add showers to the mix also, but that’s... tricky and likely to conflict with other mods out there. I also need to add compatibility for custom pool portals, and I still haven’t figured out the non-Destination version of this mod.

By the way - it seems to be impossible to add new functioning destination objects - I had to override a Maxis one! >:( (though this also seems like an excellent candidate for a plug-in framework to allow for multiple user mods. along with maybe showers).

And dang, look at this Actual Flowchart I Made to try and figure out the code beforehand. It looks better than my thumbnails fafasfafsa

Speaking of a Plug-In Framework - I am working on one, at least for the mailbox, to make it easier for modders to do cool cross-compatible stuff with it. Planning to make something pretty in-depth with it!...eventually. Sims getting actually paid by the hour was a good start, but before I knew it I was rewriting half of CareerGlobals

so uh that’s on the backburner ._.;;

Did you know that there is a lot of redunancy concerning road textures in the game? It seems as though Maxis had more ambitious plans than what we received, likely due to being rushed [speculation]. With this we have quackery such as separate road textures/overlays being possible for different weather conditions, such as snow and hail, but in the full game this only being applied on road corners, but also almost none of the special textures are used.

With some tweaking of the shader, though, I manage to make it possible to have separate road textures for light snow/heavy snow weather [pictured heavy snow overlay below]:

This is not a road texture default - well, actually, for private testing purposes, I used textures from this creator’s defaults - but I have Voille’s True Neighbourhood Grass installed in the above screenshots, which comes with a road default. I also increased the fidelity of the appearance of the snow on the roads because it looks blurry af (no idea who thought 4 was a good value for number of passes over a cumulative <200 tiles in the unmodded game).

It is not yet released, though, because I want to (a) ensure compatibility with other popular shader mods and (b) create my own textures to redistribute. (although if anybody wants to create textures, feel free?? 😳) and [c] ‘c’ what can I do to make the neighbourhood coordinated with this system.

Really cool how this stub of a feature was just... there, though!

Oh, and a blooper from this set of tests.

Nothing more Christmassy than a blood-red sky. Then again, I suppose it is October :p

Item 3: Fin

At the end of this draft now, and dang, this was really fun to put together actually! Even if this documentation is largely insignificant in the grand scheme of things I might do more of these in the future. Would be fun if other creators tried it too, I think! Away In A Manger (even though I know a version with a different melody and it always throws me off it's such a beautiful song and I have to admit that while I'm not religious anymore christmas hymns are very nostalgic to me)

Silent Night (I love Jazz covers of songs so much and Naya sounds amazing. I with it had been in a Christmas ep and not just on the album <3)

Blue Christmas (I may not really like Rory, but this hits me in the feels because I used to visit my family in Ireland for Christmas a lot when i was younger and when we stopped Christmas stopped feeling quiet as Christmassy - I like Rory when he's sad, i think, also Damien is a great singer)

O Christmas Tree (Humming version) (but not the version on the Album, specifically the one where they're all humming it while Sue is inspecting their tree in Previously Unaired Christmas. They're little shits and I love them)

Special mention to Baby It's Cold Outside for my 15 year old Klainer self, still gives me warm fuzzies watching that scene, ah pining!Kurt my beloved.

That was harder than I thought it would be omg. I kind of love all of the songs except Jingle Bell Rock, You're A Mean One Mr Grinch, Deck The Rooftops, and O Christmas Tree (the version on the album)
